It was obvious that you two loved each other but there was always something in the way. When he was with Addison you were with Mark. You were single he wasn't.

YAY OC ASK TIME!! I actually answered this on the app and tumblr poofed it. So im going to reanswer the questions again lol. Its going to be a long one so BUCKLE UP CUS HERE WE GO!

If they were an animal what animals would they be?

Sephtis would be a black cat 🐈‍⬛, Izara a bunny 🐇, Benny an otter 🦦 and I have really introduced him to the blog yet and gotten into his character, but Dante would be a dog 🐶 specifically a Jack Russell

2. Do they have any siblings? hows their relationship with family?

I love this question and I will get more into detail with all of my ocs in another post or in their character page (when i create one :3)

Sephtis has an older sister (three years older). They both have a good relationship with their mother, but a terrible one with their father. Their dad actually cut ties with them because they are both (according to him) "a disgrace to the company and family name" he ended up giving the company to their cousin because neither of them wanted to inherit their fathers company, nor cared about his business lol. Their father was never really there for them, their mother practically had a facade the entire marriage & fought so much for Seph and his sister to live "normal lives" as nepo babies (lol) they were pretty popular in school because of their bg which they hated. Their parents divorced Sephs senior year of hs and at that time is when his dad cut ties w him as well.

Izara is an only child. She has a good relationship with her parents. They're more on the traditional side & older people, so sometimes they dont see eye to eye, especially when she was in Junior High & High school. Izara's interests concerned them (literally just regular interests teenagers have that freak out ethnic parents bc they need theyre becoming demons or some shit lol) also didnt like that she loved art and wanted to be an artists/art curator. Eventually though, they understood that they cant control what their daughter does with her future and that is all up to her ( I think they left her alone more so because they realized she is successful in her art and modeling career).

Benny is the youngest of 4. He has 3 sisters. His relationship with his parents was really shitty growing up, sadly. He is gay & hes known that for his whole life. Having 3 sisters and being the only boy, he loved to play with dolls. His parents being very religious, seeing him play with dolls, was not something they liked. Even if he was just playing with his sisters. In school, he was bullied. There was name calling and rumors that spread around about him. His parents hated the rumors and name calling not because it hurt Benny, but because it makes them look like bad Catholics. Benny truly only had his sisters and other female friends by his side throughout school. It wasnt until high school where things seemed to change for the better. This especially were better because he had Sephtis. His parents have come around, but they def took their time to finally accept their son.

3.Where are they from? do they speak another language?

Sephtis is from Osaka, Japan (Mt. Komorebi) then moved to Los Angeles at age 4 (Del Sol Valley). He speaks English and Japanese!

Izara is from New York (San Myshuno), shes Ethiopian-American. She speaks English and Amharic.

Benny is from Quebec (have no idea what sim world would be considered Canada lol) He speaks French & English

Okay so Sephtis & Izara are afraid of movie characters LMAO Sephtis will forever be afraid of Kayako (The Grudge) movie he watched as a kid with his sister that scarred him as a child ksfkksfks. Izara specifically does not like the older Godzilla (model?? costume??) she thinks its ugly and creepy as fuck like literally nightmare looking ass creature. IS THIS NOT JUST CREEEPY TO U???

Ok I wouldnt say Benny's is stupid....hes afraid of bugs specifically roaches. I mean logically, hes bigger than them so he can step on them and kill them, but he just finds them super fucking gross that he cant bring himself to do that lol.

Favorite music genre/artist?

Sephtis' fave band is BUCK-TICK, Fave genre is Rock (I'll keep it broad because he loves a toe=ne of sub rock genres).

Izara's fave artist is PinkPantheress! For groups, she likes New Jeans, Aespa & Perfume (yes she listens to kpop/jpop). Fave genre is pop for sure!!

Benny's fave band are the cranberries!! fave genre is also rock, but he prefers alternative rock!!

Okay well, I want to share a little about Seph and Benny's relationship rq!! So they went to the same high school. Sephtis is a year older than Benny. Their paths didnt officially cross until Sephtis' senior year and Benny's junior year of high school. They met one day after school when it was raining, Benny didnt have an umbrella but sephtis did :) thats all ill say for now :3

kung fu panda 4 review - spoiler free

it was solid, not as good as the first three movies, but the og triology set the bar so high even a 'not as good' movie is still a fun watch. The animation is beautiful and you get quite a bunch of awesome action scenes out of it

zhen is a lot more likable when not voiced by awkwafina (croatian dub saved me ✊️) but even that wont save her from her character being pretty bland. ironically the same criticism for her design could be applied for her character as well, not bad, likable enough, just fails to stand out and ive seen it done better a lot of times already

chameleon... oh boy... so much potential, such incredible built up, such luckluster execution... ill talk more abt her in spoiler section, but honestly she was the weakest link of the movie

dont get your hopes up for furious five, they only really exist as a cameo, what you will get is mr ping and li being a very married couple and personally if theres anything worth seeing the movie for its them (still im hoping for at least a short abt the furious five, cmon theyve been non existent since kfp 3)

the pacing was too fast, and there were too many comedic and too little serious moments, glad im not the only one that noticed

ive seen a lot of complaints about tai lung and other past villains not being in the movie enough, but honestly im happy for that bc its not their movie, they all had their own movies to shine and i really feared this movie would rely too much on them to carry the hype and im glad that wasnt the case. PLEASE stop asking film studios to spoonfeed you familiar content

the chameleon rant

you know, i believe the kfp movies are heavily carried by their villains. they're the ones that set the tone, bring the stakes, and not only are they a foe for po to defeat but represent his internal conflict (tai lung being self acceptance, shen being overcoming grief and kai being self discovery) so to have the villain be the movie's weakest spot is... not great at all

firsty, the chameleon is the first movie villain in the franchise to not have any beef with any of the main characters (like tai lung had with shifu, lord shen with po and kai with oogway) and that couldve been great, give us a villain that doesnt care about po or anyone else and is just doing their own thing, its something new and an unexplored territory, but then they do nothing with it.

what does she want? to rule the valley of peace? all of china? ok and then what? the city shes already rulling doesnt look like its doing too bad to me. why should i care about her being defeated? yeah shes mean, but where are the STAKES

and how does she reflect po's conflict? because its about accepting change and she's a chameleon? weak, that only connect on paper and only barely. is it how she was never accepted to train kung fu because of her size? that's such a lame motive. really? not a single kung fu place wanted to take you in for your size? in a franchise full of all the different characters of all different shapes and sizes being kung fu masters? yeah ok sure

what i did like about her is how they made her get her way through manipulation and intimidation. she's not strong, she's not a skilled fighter, she's not inherently scary, but she uses smoke and mirrors to intimidate people around her and manipulative tactics to get her henchmen to listen which ties nicely into her shapeshifting abilities, just wish theyve done more with it, show us how she spreads horror stories about herself, show us the influence she has over the townspeople, show us just how manipulative she is of zhen, hell have her be all kind and nice to her in moments to bait her to stay under her wing (yk as abusive parents do)

nothing much more i have to say so spoiler part was rly just abt the chameleon but i needed to rant abt her more in depth bc i had high hopes for her

okay so i just watched my movie 14! its an interesting web serial. i really miss slenderverse horror. and to see that its only just begun, how fun! here is some barely coherent thoughts :

-to explain the premise badly, it is this : local youtuber becomes victim of elaborate trolling campaign by demons.

-hm, based from what i gather, this is the situation (cmiiw) : mile starts a youtube channel, they are going to close down the channel due to lack of interests, but they were sent a message from amon (introduction video)

-throughout this several month period, mile started to get increasingly agitated, showing the classic telltale signs of slender sickness (coughing in the hotel video) (looking over cameras and beating the shit out of people that cares about your wellbeing in the secret remember video), and did several things under amon's influence. at first, they simply think amon is just a helpful benefactor to their channel, but amon starts to get even more present in mile's life until they even questioned if amon had access to their personal files (hotel video) this is confirmed in the caption under 8, which is encrypted in caesar cypher.

-amon is a demon. referenced in the lesser keys of solomon as the demon over life and reproduction and it is said to induce eagerness and reconcile friends and enemies, something that are also referenced in the captions in 8 (induces eagerness) and hotel (the quote referencing poe's the raven poem) (also possible connection with mile inducing brian and nina to suicide?) it often took the form of a man with raven's head or a man with dog teeth. if his nickname wasnt obvious enough, one of the secret videos spelled it out by displaying the sigil and another secret video (remember) shows mile ecstatic over receiving a copy of lesser keys ars goetia and ended up with them looking dejected and throwing away the book

-that scene can be interpreted in two ways. it either show mile opening the book and finally realizing that amon is not a person as they read the entries, or a jump cut to the future while the early scenes is them during the early times of working with amon and the next is a scene of them opening the book again after significant damage has occured and throwing it away in regret / disgust. i think its the latter

-anyway, back to mile's work partnership with amon. dead animals at my door is the biggest information so far of what they done under amon. a notable thing is that they have "silenced" aunt penelope and is responsible for the brian and nina suicide (perhaps by way of magic from ars goetia? the bloodied state of the book during remember indicates mile might have been using it to do these awful things. they might have summoned amon to the physical world, or they might provide brian and nina as sacrifices, whethere its on purpose or something they did accidentally as they become intrigued in fact-checking the spells in the book they were given)

-one thing for sure is that brian and nina is murdered because/for amon. the caption, relating them as the lovers card placed them both under the bindings of a demon (referred to as ANGEL)

-this is mile at their worst. they have killed possibly three people and knocked out their brother (OH NO HERE COMES MILE WITH THE STEEL CHAIR) anyway, one thing im intrigued with is that, other than their brother (the editor) not remembering anything about the fight that lead mile to running away to a hotel, he also say that he doesnt know mile that well during the phone conversation with cody (8). i think his amnesia extends far, not just during the time mile is influenced by amon, but also for their entire life. its a common occurence for slenderverse protagonists unfortunately. mile and the editor might actually have a close relationship for all we know. and the various references on their home life (you'll end up just like mom and dad) (i left the house when i was 16) made me start to think that their parents arent just the boring flavor of abusive, but might even responsible for mile and the editor to be trapped with amon. look, mile has always suffered from hallucinations, are they picked up by amon because of this vulnerability? or is this because mile was meant to be amon's plaything from the very start?

-for now though, it almost seems like mile accidentally sold their soul for youtube fame to a demon (wow, demons these days are catching up with the times. also, whatever deal mile made, i dont think its worth it. like, if i had to kill three people, i should at least have mr beast level of view counts lol)

-another asides : the stalker? who are you? you seem to be inhabiting (heheh) mile's body but the mask was meant for cody. this stalker however, simply knows more things that they let on. it could be cody, sending out cryptic warnings ala tim's alter ego masky in marble hornets or a future version of mile that has went through unimaginable eldritch horrors until their personhood is twisted beyond recognition but now they might have a chance in running away from amon ala firebrand in t12. could be the editor himself, a supressed version of him that remembers everything that went down during the few months before mile's death.

-one thing for sure. stalker speaks in riddles. they add videos, change captions, put out morse codes and caesar cyphers and quotes referencing things that are relevant to our investigation. they also refer that there are three people presiding over the channel.

-my obvious and strongest guess would be the editor, the stalker, and amon watching over the whole thing. however, based on typing quirks alone we could guess that there are another secret man on the channel.

-one would be editor. two would be stalker, but the third... they could have posted only the captions on the article video, since it was a drastic departure in style than the quotes and cyphers. or disregarding that video, we can divide the captions as either cyphers or quotes. the cyphers could be the mysterious person, calling out the editor to remember and to listen to mile's warning (who could be the one posting references to ars goetia so editor would stay away or learn how serious the being theyre dealing with)

-however, the most confusing is the captions in the 28.10.22, it is weirdly sincere and direct. it could be a message for the editor (line about finding closure)

-based on the rather straightforward message, i feel like its the kind of things the stalker would say. and also, i might be reaching here, but if the stalker did speak using quotes, then referencing a stanza from poe's the raven could be a subtle expression of grief and apology (the poem was about a guy feeling haunted by a raven because he felt grief over lenore's death) while warning that theyre dealing with a demon with a raven head. im leaning over the "the stalker is corrupted!mile" prediction because of this

-take all of this with a grain of salt though. there are plenty of things i havent looked over twice. we dont even know how amon could be another iteration of slenderman other than his victims suffering from similar diseases. if i have the time, i'll revisit and make another post about my theories. cant wait to see this series grow :)

Albedo continued to apologise long after cleaning your home, leaving little to no sign of a fire at all. Although you never actually asked him to, he sprung into cleaning mode and fixed everything to the point you began to question if there ever was a fire. 

So now you sit in the kitchen, on top of one of the counters as Albedo scrubbed at one of the floor tiles, trying to remove the soot in the groat. You hadn't asked him to but he seemed not to stop, moving swiftly from one task to another. 

All the while, Klee was still in the living room while Teucer had been sent to his room as punishment. You felt the need to look and check up on her yet felt awkward to leave Albedo alone. 

“Normally, I don't allow her. She’s a handful at home, I don't wish to inflict that on another person. I’ve told her baby sisters this but it seems they didn't listen so i can only offer my---” 

“If you keep apologising I swear I will actually press charges.” At that, he stalled his monologue to look up at you. The wide grin on your lips encouraged a small one that pressed into one corner of his mouth. 

“So…is it only you and Klee at home?” 

“At the moment. Our mother is constantly away doing work so I'm left to look after her. It’s normally not such a hassle.” 

“I see.” Is the whisper that left your lips as he returned to cleaning. 

“What about your parents?” 

“Busy. Like your’s. They’re democrats for the Snezhnayain republic so they're always here or there. Away for long, back for short.” 

Sometimes you don't see them for as long as a month. In that time, it's only you, Childe, Teucer, Tonia and Anthon knocking around the house. Childe’s incharge of getting everyone to school while you're forced to wake them up and get their food. 

Sometimes your older siblings will come around and free you for a bit. Maybe look after your younger siblings so you can go out and have some fun. But they have their own lives and, some, their own family. 

“It must be lonely.” 

“Not really. Suddenly I'm trying to control three more people than normal. But Alexi and Vanya stop by from time to time. Take control so I can go do something.” 

“That must be a relief.”

“No. Because at the end of the day, I'll still be going back to them.” With that, you slid off the counter, seeing he’d finished the last of the cleaning. 

“That’s always a downside. Anyway, I'm done cleaning so I'll be leaving.”  He cleared away the last of his cleaning supplies he took from a cupboard you didn't even realise existed. 

“Yeah, thanks for everything. I’d be dead if it wasnt for you.” You said as you followed him through to the living room. There, on the sofa, was Klee. Fast asleep, exhausted from her evil, explosive rampage that set your house almost on fire. 

With care, Albedo scooped one arm around Klee and hoisted her against him. She stirred for a minute, mumbling a,

“Don't even…think about trying to…send me home.” with a wide mouth yawn. 

You had to giggle. A soft spot still resided in your heart for Klee, although clouded by her recent actions. She was still the most adorable thing to you.

“We’re home!” A yell came from your front door, only just before Tonia and Anthon charged in, one running up the stairs and the other running for the kitchen. 

Not long after, your parents followed. “Ah, [Name], here you were. And you must be Abedo, Klee’s brother.” Your mother smiled at the both of you. One you knew was her classic people pleasing smile she always flaunted. 

“It’s nice to meet you, ma’am, sir.” Albedo nodding his head in both your parents direction, selecting a smile of his own. 

“Did you get up to much?” Your dad asked, placing his briefcase down on the coffee table. 

“I made some cookies with them and we watched a movie.” You bluffed clean off your chest. 

“Oh, that’s nice. Anyway-- wait, can you smell that?” Your mum stopped her words, sniffing the air like she was a shark that just sniffed fresh blood.

“Um, maybe it’s the cookies, I burnt a few. Anyway, Albedo was just going so,” You placed your hand firmly on his back and pushed him for the front door. 

Your parents let you pass, the two now confused by the smell that you’d grown blind to. Once you reach the door, you stop, giving it a second to say goodbyes. 

“I’ll see you tomorrow then.” He began. 

“Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow. Please don't put me with Scaramouche or Heizou again. If you do, I will end up strangling both of them. At the same time.” 

He gave you a grin, chuckling softly to not wake Klee up. It gave you a warm feeling to see him smile, like being bathed in sunlight. It was weird, kinda making you itch. 

“Oh! One more thing.” He froze in his place in your driveway before turning his head back in your direction. “If you promise to take that…Jumpy-Dumpty think off her, feel free to let Klee come over again.” 

“I can't make any promises. She’s pretty attached to it. But I'll see what I can do.” Another grin and it felt wrong to leave, even as he disappeared down the road.

Dear Dawn, Its just me again. Trying answer up to all your letters. Good Mornin by the way its 6:35 A.M. . . . OK! answer to what makes everyone classify me as a Seriel Killer? Well actually no one had. The cops labeled me this on the fact that a number of men where killed . . . For Seriel Killers—Real ones stalk as often as they can. And if theres a cooling off period its only in a matter of days. Not months. Plus there brutal in these deaths. These men where never tortured nor dismembered. Richard Mallory raped me. Where as he tied me to the steering wheel, then proceeded to vaginally and anally rape me. For nearly 2 hours. Then after he was done. He put rubbing Alcohol he had in a visine bottle. The bottom my nose, vagina and anus. This was excurciatingly painfull. But more so in my ass. Because he tore me up bad. I never had sex like that. i completed Stardew Valley 1.6

and the previous version, by extension

so, i have previously got all of the achievements in Stardew Valley... version 1.5. back then, the hardest part was crafting all the items. at the time i figured it was because the achievement itself didnt change, but it changed in scope because of the additional content. by adding qi-exclusive recipes, the qi content was made from a bonus post-game objective to mandatory for completion. which makes sense, its weird to call yourself a completionist if you dont have 100% of the meaningful... items, quests, whatever. just an interesting note to start out on

for 1.6, my first job was the achievements id already done and just had to retrigger. going to the movies, ginger island, bottom of the mines, and the holiday events. note how i didnt say the summit: it wasnt an achievement, so i didnt go for it. i focused on stuff like fectors quest and my joja save file instead. so that would be my next goal!

oh yeah and i got that sword. i had the materials so it was a one day affair

so now i can focus on perfection. in addition to the silly raccoons, of course. after a night storm (it triggered for me like, night 3 of my first session, so idk if i just got lucky or if it was queued) they request stuff that relate to the new update, like from the new dehydrator. but the cooldown between requests is like a week, so then i can work on perfection

so in the process of my 1.5 completionism i had already done most of the work. all that was left now was the new recipes and items, the golden clock, mastery, and making friends with everyone. that first one seems the easiest, lets start there.

it was mostly trivial. catching one new fish, using the new artisan items the raccoons showed me, and the new crafting recipes were straightforward to. now i can do mastery by turning my junimos off and scything the farm myself. oh hey, this unlocked some more recipes. i already have some moss from the other ones, i should be able to scrape together th

for the next 15 hours of gameplay, my life was marching around town with an inventory full of random crap that the unfriendeds happened to enjoy. these happened to be all the characters i cared about the least, like willy dwarf and penny. no offence if shes your fave; we just dont get along. i dont care what the wiki says, dont fuck with someones wheelchair. also, alex takes rejection fine, but shes back to 0 friendship? whatever, im distracted

while im doing laps, im scouring every tree i see for moss. by the time i only have alex penny and emily to befriend, i have 200 moss.

then green rain happens and i have 500

i knew that green rain was good for moss, but the way i kept seeing people complain that it was only one day a year and still not enough, i assumed that it would be really meagre, like +50. instead it gave me more than a years worth of moss. i didnt collect any more moss after that, i was well and truly set

so with that stupid blessed statue build, time to powerlevel friendship. gift, talk, movie, bed. gift, talk, bed. talk, bed. talk, bed. talk, bed. talk, bed. talk, bed. one tedious season and thats over with.

hows the clock? well, i turned my junimos back on after i got mastery, and theyve been going wild on my corn and coffee. combine that with the three barns filled entirely with pigs inexplicably named after touhou characters, and the 5mil i started with was at 8mil now. in addition, i spent some time actually setting up the ginger island farm with nothing but cactus fruit for reasons i have forgotten. after that was set up, i slowly converted it to an ancient fruit farm with nothing but one seed, a seed maker, and determination. unfortunately by the time the ancient fruit farm was fully grown and ready to be harvested i could afford the clock regardless from the pelican town profit so... oh well. i didnt go on ginger island again after that

so ive been playing for about a week straight at this point, just to give you an idea of how monotonous this all was. i would like to emphasize that this is entirely my fault, kinda. ysee the new additions are meant to be enjoyed as you progress through the game normally. youre not supposed to just blindly powerlevel one achievement at the time, youre supposed to slowly increment towards all of the separately over the course of your entire playtime. since i didnt start a new farm, i didnt have the 'entire playtime' anymore. no community centre to build, no golden walnuts to hunt, no qi to work for, no mines to reach the bottom of

this was about to become a much, much bigger problem

if i go onto tvtropes and Well-Read isnt listed under 'that one achievement' im gonna be curmudgeonly confused. throughout my whole playtime, i had visited the bookseller every time he appeared - 2/28 days every month, at random - and i was still missing 5 books. all of them had a rare chance of showing up for sale, and i just wasnt getting lucky. so, i kept trying. sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, check bookseller... sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, check bookseller... sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, you get it. this went on for two in-game years before i gave up on the remaining two books i had left: the book of mysteries and the treasure appraisal guide. lets do the first one, i guess?

i spend a few seasons sleep-grinding for mystic syrup and use up the last of my moss to make those totems that summon artifact spots, making about 20 in total. from this, i got a bunch of crap, and 15 mystery boxes. took em to clint, and got nothing for my trouble. if only i had some larger long-term goal to work towards that i could focus on while i slowly accrue mystery boxes over my entire playtime. alas, i have literally nothing left to do other than farm for mystery boxes, and from what ive researched this is the best way. i am not starting a new playthough just for this, thatd take months. i gotta find a way to do this more efficiently...

it took 37 boxes, in addition to the 15 i already went through. considering that the alternative to cheating starting the race in second gear is to: go fishing all day, waiting for the chance to catch a fish, which give 25% chance to get a treasure chest (if you have two treasure lures like i did), which has a ~12% chance to contain a mystery box, which has a 0.5% chance to be the book i need, i am very glad i did literally anything else

so thats done! all thats left is the treasure appraisal guide. im just gonna sleep for the bookseller chance again, theres no way ill go two in game years without seeing it right?

this was not worth it at all and i advise people, if you are dead set on completing this game, do it from a new save file. i spent days on this monotony instead of just biting the bullet and starting from the beginning like i shouldve

id like to take a moment and say that i like 1.6 and stardew valley in general. it was a little grindy, but i had a great time working towards all the achievements when i first played the game in 1.5, even if the queen of sauce or whatever was a bit tedious. it is fair and reasonable if youre playing from the beginning. you dont have to delete your current farm or anything, and you can still enjoy it casually. but if youre going for completion, i sincerely promise youll have a way better time starting fresh. for context, my farm was four an a half years old when i stopped playing, and nine years old when i ended. it took the length of an entire additional playthrough to grind out random events/drops. do not make the same mistake

i was tempted, though. they had four thunder junction commander precons, and on the face of one was a sultai cowboy gonti. of course gonti is a cool sultai cowboy. i love it. does it make any sense? i was too awestruck to care. i did not give in to temptation. but i was close.

when i got home, i looked up the decklist. gonti was the only aetherborn in the deck. one of two aetherborn in the entire set, as there was a nameless aetherborn reprint in a different precon. what a shame. you confirm that aetherborn, or at the very least, gonti, can travel the omenpaths, but you do nothing with it. the most flavour i could find product-wise was written on the back of the box, that he is "representing ghiraphur" on thunder junction. oh well. i suppose i should count myself lucky that gonti still even exists.

you know, if that deck was cool i wouldve gone to my lgs tomorrow to pick it up. i would broken my vow to never buy mtg again until they fix standard, or replace it with something that isnt uber-casual whale-hunt-y like commander. because cowboy gonti sounded cool as fuck. rrrrrrrhhhhh.

why do no card games scratch the itch for me anymore? standard is dead, commander is either too casual or just plain unfun, fab is too strictly typed, hearthstone has been powercrept to hell, lorcana is too simple and also disney, battle spirits saga nobody played to begin with, this new star wars unlimited game has no product, the most engaging card game i currently play is marvel fucking snap!! god.

it was a lot simpler when everyone just played standard. sure, it had problems, but at least we played. i enjoyed playing. i lost as much as i won, and i had fun trying to win as much as i could with my limited resources. i put unclaimed territory in my non-tribal deck and memorized the creature types of all my creatures to know the optimal creature type to name is ever scenario. i wasnt supposed to win against the guys who had bought smugglers copters and hydriod krasis, but i still tried my best, and sometimes i came pretty close. sometimes, rarely, i did win.

the thing that impressed me most about inscryption was po3. thats when i realized that the guy who made inscryption was a real card gamer. i have sat across the table from po3 on friday nights more times than i can count. i lost most of the games i played against them early on... but slowly, i got better, and i spent less time worrying about them and more time locked in on the game, and nowadays i win two games out of three. i miss the early days though, when po3 was scary. when i spent 10 seconds wandering around the tables looking for my number, and another 20 seconds steeling my nerves to sit down and shake hands with the nerd across from me. i miss those times. they were terrifying. i messed up, a lot. i learned.

someday ill make my own card game. ill make it accessible, and encourage proxying. ill make it flavour-focused, and competitive. ill make it worthy of the community it will build.

I was really nervous to watch moon knight. as a system, im used to people immediately thinking of movies like Split when they hear about a system. i was so worried that there was gonna be some catch to this show, i watched the whole first episode last night waiting for the other shoe to drop, (i don't trust marvel, i don't trust disney, can u blame me?) and when the episode was over, i started crying, because it was good.

it was funny, it was intriguing, it was entertaining, i related to it. the only piece of mainstream media that has a positive system representation that i can think of is Mr. Robot. thats one case of us not being painted as murderers, rapists, or otherwise insane (/derogatory) people.

i started crying, too, because- do u know how big a franchise marvel is? so many people are going to be able to see this show. so many people are going to think of this show first, now, instead of Split. a system being superheros, instead of murderers and kidnappers. superheros! the good guys!

i was almost afraid to keep watching after the first episode. i was scared that the first episode was a fluke. scared that the narrative would change, that i got my hopes up for nothing.

i kept watching, and im so glad i did. i got my hopes up for good reason, and it just kept getting better. i kept pausing it to happy stim everytime i saw myself in something that Steven and Marc did- it felt so amazing to say, "i do that too! we do that too!".

it wasnt perfect, there were a few parts that made me nervous in the way it got handled, but- i literally do not care. i dont even care about the nitpicks, because there is positive system representation and its handled so well and im elated that so many people are going to see this. ive already seen posts on here about moon knight getting 20k notes. twenty thousand! and thats just on tumblr!

and- layla being so supportive was just... so very unexpected and so very appreciated.

i stayed up until 330am to binge watch it, knowing damn well we had to be awake in three hours or less. this show already means so, so much to me, and i really, really, hope it gets an amazing season two.

A SINGLE PALE ROSE GRGRHDHDBDHSH,, I don’t have a ton to say (especially since it’s been years since I’ve watched most of su) but PLEASE rant about a single pale rose I beg

Man A Single Pale Rose. That episode was such a turning point it was huge when it came out. For ages one of the biggest debates in the fandom was between the people who thought Rose was Pink Diamond, and the people who thought that the people who thought Rose was PD were idiots. I was part of the latter group i thought there was no way that could possibly be true its just one of those crazy theories that doesn’t make any sense. And then Single Pale Rose happened and shook Everything

Single Pale Rose Single Handedly causes the entire rest of the season, if Steven hadn’t decided then and there to push on it if Pearl hadn’t managed to find a way to actually tell him. If it hadnt have happened the diamonds would have shown up and the crystal gems would have lost, the only reason they don’t is that Steven manages to tell them hes PD, if it had of been a little later the diamonds would have arrived in the middle of That emotional debacle

One part of the episode i really like is how it builds up, it gives you hints and implications as the episode goes on so by the time the actual reveal happens and you see Rose shapeshift into PD you pretty much already know where the scene is going. I just think its a clever way to do it and also the whole pearl-ception thing with pearl inside pearl inside pearl inside pearl inside pearl’s pearl, its played for a joke but has some interesting implications about how gems memories work and weather it applies to all gems or if Pearl is specific in that way

The way Rose is portrayed throughout the series is really interesting to me, people have said it before but her arc really is shown in reverse. The first mentions the audience gets of her is characters praising her and making her look like the most perfect person in the world, placing her high up on this pedestal that everyone put her on and making Steven think he has to try to live up to what everyone else says about Rose, then as season 1 and 2 go on theres little bits and pieces, we find out maybe she wasn’t completely perfect and had some flaws but she was still really really good. And then come season 3 the real cracks start to show, she poofed and bubbled Bismuth and hid it from everyone for some unclear reason, i feel like theres smthn else but im blanking, and then in the last three eps of the season, Beta, Back To The Moon, and Bubbled, its all shattered (he) when we find out Rose Killed somebody, also retroactively making the Bismuth thing worse. And then barely a season and a half later it’s revealed that Rose and the person she killed, are the same person. And that messes with everything. Now she looks like this awful person who lied to everyone who ever cared about her and caused the deaths of thousands of people by staging a stupid war where she was the head of both sides. And then with the movie and future we learn about Pink Pearl and Spinel and how theyve been treated.

And thats the order her arc is presented in because thats the order Steven learns about it in. And so Rose goes from a saint Steven could never dream of living up to, to someone Steven never wants to be anything like. But if you reorganise everything into chronological order, while shes still not a great person and still did some awful awful things, you can see her intentions and that she really wasnt a malicious party in all this. She starts off a kid, and being treated like one by the people she craves to be seen as a equal by. Shes mistreated by the people around her and so tries to get their attention the only way she knows how, by throwing tantrums. Eventually she manages to get her own colony and almost instantly she sees whats wrong with what they’re doing, shes likely never had the chance to see the process in action so she never got it until then. She tries and tries to go back on what shes said but the other diamonds wont let her, so she makes a drastic choice that then has consequences she hadn’t considered. And an all out war breaks out, but shes too deep by now, she can just come out and say what shes done nobody will ever take her seriously ever again, so she has to end it on her own. And she does the war ends. She didnt know what the diamonds would do after she didnt know about the cluster or the gem experiments or the corruption song, if she’d known maybe she would have made a different choice, maybe she wouldnt have who knows. And then she spends the rest of her days loving and protecting the world she fought so hard for, living with the knowledge of the things shes done, and she tries to be better.

BUT. HER MOTHER IS STILL ALIVE. it is made clear that her mother had no money and will now have to work for her living if rose doesnt marry rich. AND ROSE LEAVES HER TO THIS FATE???? AFTER THE TRAUMA OF BEING ON THE TITANIC?? like yeah it is soooo feminist girlboss of you to abandon your mother to penury and make her believe you’re dead while you have a wonderful ‘free’ life and her only crime was trying to do the best she could for you according to the options available to her gender and class in this time period. also. YOU BOTH SURVIVED THE TITANIC. if anyone on earth was allowed to break off an unwanted engagement and come to terms with each other and forge a new path for themselves it was these two!!! probably why they never showed roses mother after the sinking bc the audience would have gone. oh yeah what was up with that!!!!

overall rose and jack took up waaaaay too much time and i didn’t care at all the sound track was doing so much heavy lifting for them. and my heart will go on is a decent tune but celine dions voice is sooo annoying and that. synth that’s used in every nineties movie ending song. insufferable

ok final analysis. not the worst film ever made and not the best. mediocre which is not a crime. everything to do with the titanic itself as a man made object was incredible. here’s what i do think though. i dont think its a bad thing to have ‘morbid’ interests or obsessions, like true crime or serial killers or disasters like the titanic. whether you engage with them healthily or ethically or whatever is not really anyones business to police really. but i think it does become something worthy of criticism when you spend a bajillion american dollars on a film about it. mostly the whole thing felt to me like. whoa isnt the titanic so cool look at all the facts i know about it and how the physics of the wreck worked and all the history stuff i can get right and like. the spectacle of tragedy. which would be forgivable if it gave any respect to the people who actually died but it kind of didnt! ALSO absolutely no analysis of WHY this tragedy happened or who was at fault like very surface level oh there arent enough lifeboats? no one rowed back? not enough people in the lifeboats? but no examination of WHY like why didnt the officers row back? were they cowards? were they uneducated? traumatised? upper class idiots who didnt care? the film doesnt say! it points out the flaws in the design and running of the ship but never says whose fault it was! idk like it spends all this time and money on showing us the titanic and at the end you realise wow. it was never about the victims of this tragedy at all it was all a vehicle for james cameron to infodump about his special interest and so everyone who died on that ship to stand around and cheer and clap as leo and kate kiss in titanic heaven.

watching titanic bc i’ve never seen it and james cameron irritates me so here’s my thoughts so far

james cameron can certainly make films about things but not about people like. the opening sequence is genuinely beautiful like wow that is the real titanic and those are the real chandeliers and piano and it looks like the ghost of a ship and how can a machine made by the hand of man have a ghost? does a ship have a soul that lives on after death? i was so genuinely moved

the sequences of the ship in action are also genuinely moving like the shovelling of the coal and the boilers and the pistons and the propellers and the hundreds of people and hundreds of tons of machinery o the mighty works of the hands of man! the accomplishments of the human race and the attendant hubris and folly! like he truly made me see that and feel that so well done

but the whole story of jack and rose is so baddddd like it is entry level historical romance novel stuff. absolutely dire. ahistorical and stilted. juvenile analysis of class and gender. boring!

whyyyy have the old lady regaling these poor salvage guys with her erotic adventures leave them alone they don’t want to know!!!!

do NOT like the oirish stereotyping however classy or well intended like. all that research and he couldnt get his english actor to do a belfast accent because for all he knew all irishmen have the exact same accent. some daecent tunes in there all the same even if the composer is clearly trying to pass it off as his own work. i know rakish paddy when i hear it fella

okay obviously the way most people get into the sonic franchise is through the games, but these also have the biggest hurdle to jump through to consume them (money + proper consoles). here is a list of the mainline sonic games in chronological order (out of universe that is; in universe a few are switched around), and here is a list of EVERY sonic game. try to play any that seem interesting to you! the classic games (1 + CD + 2 + 3&Knuckles) and the adventure games (SA + SA2) are the most essential viewings. the classics are all getting rereleased on switch in june as sonic origins and are otherwise very simple to understand, and the adventures have large cutscene movies you can watch on youtube!

if you like darker and more serious storylines, i say check out sonic 2006, shadow the hedgehog, sonic forces, and to a certain extent sonic and the secret rings, and sonic and the black knight.

if you like more lighthearted cartoony stories, check out sonic heroes, sonic unleashed, sonic colors, sonic generations, sonic lost world, and sonic mania.

note that i make no guarantee of quality because some of these are infamously bad but its okay because liking bad storylines and games is a part of liking this series 💗

okay other than the games theres also animated media you can check out! there were three american animated sonic cartoons in the 90s, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (aosth), Sonic the Hedgehog (satam), and Sonic Underground.

aosth is a super lighthearted cartoon thats just about sonic and tails running around defeating robotniks schemes together. its not much in terms of story or meat, so if you dont like eggman, or sonic and tails, then its probably skippable. my personal favorite episode is Tails New Home. all of its on youtube.

satam is the darker cartoon of the mid 90s. its about an underground revolution against the dictator robotnik by the village knothole outside the city of robotropolis. this would get cancelled after 2 seasons, and would get a comic adaptation which ill talk about in a second. all of its on youtube as well.

sonic underground is a nonsense show lmao. sonic has blood siblings in this one and they fight robotnik using magic amulets that turn into magic instruments. a nostalgic favorite for many fans, and its notable for being the only cartoon tails isnt in because the writers chopped up his personality and split it into other characters. again, its all on youtube!

theres also 2 japanese anime adaptations of the series!

the sonic OVA is a 40 minute movie that was originally a pilot for a series, but it wasnt picked up. i personally adore the animation used in it, its adorable and its length makes it fun to watch on the regular. its normally on youtube but currently down i think, so you can watch it on places like dailymotion and vimeo.

sonic x is the story driven anime adaptation from the mid 2000s! it got dubbed by 4kids in the us, but they censored tons of stuff so everybody tells everybody to watch it subbed. theres three seasons, and while i havent seen this yet ive been assured its actually very well written and a good watch. the dub is on youtube, but since again you want to see it subbed, both versions are on hulu. its also on uh. other sites <3

sonic boom is the most recent sonic cartoon from 2014. a cartoon adaptation of series spinoff game Sonic Boom and the Rise of Lyric, everybodys designs and personalities are slightly off, especially knuckles. its not necessarily in character half the time, but its funny enough nobody cares. its like a sitcom with sonic characters and everybody loves clipping stuff out of context. you can watch it on hulu! and other sites <3

THE MOVIES! everybodys seeing the movies. what are you doing if you arent seeing the movies? pirate the first one off paramount+ and then buy your ticket for the 2nd one right now. theyre genuinely good movies and are super super fun to see with friends!!

okay thats it for cartoons! finally, theres multiple comics you can read about sonic.

Archie Sonic is the first, american made comic series with over 500 issues if you include spin offs. this is the satam continuation. its infamous for its behind the scenes drama with ken penders and its terrible relationship drama in comic. it gets good when ian flynn starts writing though. you can read these on any comic sites online, and heres a reading order, since it gets super complicated to keep up with.

Sonic the Comic is the british version of the series. commonly dubbed fleetway sonic by fans, its lore re sonic and eggman is vastly different to the rest of the series. its much shorter than archie, with less than 200 issues. again, you can read these online, and heres a much less complicated reading order.

finally, theres IDW sonic. started in 2017, its a spiritual continuation of archie in some ways due to the returning writing staff after archie ended in 2014. its also a literal continuation of sonic forces, and you should know what happens in that game before reading these. this is most peoples favorite comic run, due to it being the most consistent in story and art quality. its more recent and still ongoing. you can read it online, and heres a reading order as of the issues released when typing this up. thank you tumblr user thankskenpenders for both this and the archie reading order!
