Being someone with dissociation problems and the like, you aren’t always going to feel yourself or certain aspects of yourself. You should also keep in mind that disability and neurodivergence can be extreme forms of naturally occurring experiences in having a human body. I say this for both this community and people who may view my artwork, we do not want this disgusting and yet so subtle type of Puritanism, nor do we want this petty and pretentious attitude surrounding any sort of discussion.

bad take. if you think every single therian has a flat, even, unchanging connection that NEVER wavers or strengthens or lessens or feels a little bit different some days than others, then you don’t have a very good grasp on what therianthropy is. it doesn’t always have to be the same strength all the time.

in fact, that’s exactly what shifts are. i’m sure you’ve heard of a therian shift. where someone starts to feel much more connected to their type and often adopts behaviours/sensations more like their type. to say that you can’t ever feel more or less connected to your type than other times is to say shifts aren’t real. which is ridiculous.

Today I had to bribe myself with chips to go to class. It was funny because it was like I had a whole conversation in my head with the rational part of my brain. It went something like this:

Somone PLEASE educate people like this. Correct me if wrong but therianthropy IS identifying as an animal. You cant be a therian and not identify as an animal.

I have nothing against people like this but I wish people would educate themselves before using a serious identity title.

This identity means so much to me and seeing people throw it around like its a game of roleplay and fantasy makes me very disappointed.
