Honestly he always enjoyed your company, of course at first he was rather grouchy (and an asshole) whenever you were near him. Always giving you a scowl or rolling his eyes when he saw you getting near him, but he slowly started to get used to your company. What!? It's not like he enjoyed your company! Of course not! What a foolish though. (sarcasm)

He got more used to your company, allowing you to be seen more often near him but he was still not used to the gifts you'd give him. He understood it was so he could be more comfortable around you and be more friendly but he wasn't really used to getting gifts. But he didn't really think anything of it

After a while of you two hanging out more often, you both were always seen together, so much to the point people asked if you were dating which of course you both said no, but you both didn't seem uncomfortable with the idea whenever asked... Anyways.. Shane always came over to your farm where you'd always give him a nice meal and a very small amount of beer (each time he came over you'd reduce the amount of beer given and slowly start getting him to drink more water to try and help with his addiction, you'd also regularly listen to him through these meals about any of his problems and in turn he'd listen back) and you two would just chill, watch TV, play some games or go out and fool around!

After a good 4 months though he started to get strange notes... he didn't bother reading them at first until he noticed a word that quickly grabbed his attention, 'love'. He was honestly indifferent towards the letters, he didn't really care for them until he started to get them more and more often. It was rather confusing as he started getting all these letters all of a sudden, and not just any letters but love letters! It was a bit overwhelming to be honest, he never knew anyone would feel such a way towards him, not like he cared much..at first, after a while though he started to wonder who liked him and he even wondered if.. maybe he started to grow attracted to the person just through these letters!

Once you were with him he told you about the letters and even showed them to you, your face turned red and you immediately left him all confused as you wouldn't answer any of his questions on why you were as red as a damn tomato. He never really got his answer for a while. Due to your sarcastic nature you kept on teasing him about the notes and whenever he asked you questions like, "Who do you think it is?" or things of that sort you'd always roll your eyes and just go "oh I wonder who!" in a monotone voice, leaving him a bit confused.

After a while the letters started to die down, but that doesn't mean they got any less romantic, no, in fact I'd say they had even more romance talk than ever! They started to allude to the fact that the anonymous sender of these messages will confess soon, often reading "P.S lots of love, and I promise I'll see you soon <3!" or things to that nature

To be honest he actually started to look forward to these notes, although he found them a bit creepy at first or boring he started to get rather happy? The thought of someone liking him romantically so much to the point they send him love letters and admirer notes was sweet to him in a sense?

One day he randomly went to your farm and barged into your home, you know like how best friends do. He grabbed a few drinks from your fridge as he watched you make a grocery list. You were humming a soft tune while Shane's eyes got wider and wider as he saw you write. He spit out his drink causing you to stare at him strangely. "Shane! The hell dude? You alright?" You'd ask and he just stared at you like '😲'

You look at him like 'wtf?? you okay???' and he just wipes off the juice on his chin and helps clean up the spilt juice. His ears and cheeks were turning red as he did so, covering his mouth and stifling a nervous/awkward laugh.

"Your handwriting... I recognized it from the notes." he says quickly and you just go from "what??" to "WHAT" very quickly, absolutely shocked he could figure it out so easily from such a small detail!. You both stayed in awkward silence for a good 3 minutes as he helped clean.

He let out a cough and just quickly ruffled your hair and looked away "Don't worry.. I like you too.. the letters are uh nice too by the way.." is all he says. You both stay in an awkward silence for another good 5 minutes

After the awkwardness you both have a good talk and decide LETS MAKE IT OFFICIAL!! Yall both like eachother! Yall both wanna be together! So like why not!?!??! And oh wow he is one of the best boyfriends you've ever had :)!

He tries his best to improve his flaws, he knows he's not the best person and he's willing to change not just for himself but for you too, he wants to feel better about who he is now that he has you and he wants you to see him as who he wants to be as well.

You both plan out lots of activities together while dating and such, both of you are pretty much inseparable and no one is surprised you two started dating :)! (I FEEL LIKE MAKING SHANE BF HEADCANONS NOW OMG-)

For your guys' anniversary what he does is make you a letter and sends it with flowers, usually signing it 'secret admirer' and at the bottom he puts a little 'P.S it's actually your bf' just so that you don't get uncomfortable thinking it might be someone else lmao

You get really embarrassed when he brings up the fact you wrote him secret love letters and sent them to him, you thought it was a little cringe of you to do and it made you seem weird, but to him it was rather sweet, he loved it. From time to time he asks you to make some if you're comfortable with since the letters always made his day when he read them everyday! they made him feel better about himself :)!

Ohhh my god so re: what i remember you for as a writer theres SOSOSO much to choose from, but I have to go with Ptolemaea!!!!!

And even though there’s SO many iconic scenes/lines in Ptolemaea that stuck wirh me/that I remember you by, the shower scene from Ptolemaea is the one I’m going to talk about right now because it stuck with me and i was flashbanged by it again last night when rereading it HWBDBFN

Like, this part specifically:

“That didn’t mean it was any less appreciated, though, even as the blisters on his ankles burned with it. Hot water meant that the dirt, grime, and blood melted off him with minimal effort. Even so, he took a certain amount of comfort in scrubbing himself pink and toweling off roughly, as though he could peel the past three years off his body the way a spider might shed its carapace. To grow.”

First of all, the line about how the water is making the blisters on his ankles burn is so strong/physical/it’s like I can feel it.

And it’s also such a fantastic line/fantastic use of word choice when it comes to the fact that Ptolemaea being a “Henry got out of the lab early” AU and therefore also a “Henry didnt get sent to Dimension x” AU versus the use of the word “burned” here, especially in the context of Henry trying to scrub off the lab/leave the lab behind versus the way that Henry physically leaves the lab behind in canon being getting sent to Dimension X & getting burned there.

It just works so well to give this subtle vibe/subtle reminded of “what couldve been” and how even though what Henry’s going through right now sucks (ie all of the Ptolemaea horrors, and even just the water from a nice shower hurts his blisters), it could’ve been so much worse/it really nails that “full of horrors but also full of Hope” vibe that Ptolemaea has.

And second of all, specifically looking at this part:

“Even so, he took a certain amount of comfort in scrubbing himself pink and toweling off roughly, as though he could peel the past three years off his body the way a spider might shed its carapace. To grow.”

I cant even describe how much I love this part. There’s so many little layers to the comparison between Henry in the shower vs a spider shedding its carapace, snd how its not just “oh yeah yk hes got the same vibes as a spider shedding its carapace because hes trying to start anew” but instead the comparison *also* so Physical and the mental/emotional change/struggle is convey so Physically and how it’s specifically connected to the way that Henry scrubs himself pink, and the way that this line about how Henry scrubs himself pink evokes the visual of new skin being pink and “sore”/sensitive because it’s new, much like the new flesh under an old carapace.

And then how Henry towels himself off roughly vs that also working so perfectly to really convey that feeling of shedding a carapace in a very very physical way and the Movements of it and im just!!! The WORD CHOICES here are so perfect to convey a really visceral/physical feeling, like with the use of the word “peeling” and with how that use of the word” peeling” is where it all then connects to the mental aspect of it/the bridge between physical vs mental re: henry trying to peel the last three years off of his body (especially with the imagery re: peeling skin off/peeling years off vs all of the mental/supernatural “flaying” in ST vs the peeling skin imagery tying to the idea of literal flaying in the sense of flaying skin off).

And the “last three years” thing always gets me, it’s not only such a good reminder of how long he spent in the lab/how many years he’s lost, But then also, specifically in the context of shedding a carapace/molting, the implication that Henry hasn’t “molted” in three years/that this carapace that’s stuck to him is three years old/literally made up of the past three years really hits me every time re: the fact that spiders shed their carapaces/molt wayy more often than that so he hasnt been Allowed to molt & also the fact that some types of spiders stop molting entirety once they reach maturity (this is the case for black widows)/other types just molt less frequently (once a year) when they reach maturity vs the last three years in the lab being what makes up Henry’s “carapace” & Henry not having “molted” at all in the lab/at all in the last 3 years vs the way that Henry was forced to grow up quickly in the lab but how it Also stunted him & how not molting anymore is a sign of “maturity” /adulthood in spiders.

And especially with all of that/the idea of being forced to grow up quickly but also having your growth stunted as a result vs using the imagery of shedding a three year old carapace to convey that & the way that having a built-up old caparace/unshedded layers would make him seem “bigger”/more grown” when in reality, it’s a sign of *not* having grown/not being allowed to shed it is *stunting* his ability to grow/it’s like he was being forced to “grow” by not shedding (which then also ties SO PERFECTLY into Henry’s canon regen healing & the way that there’s all of this tumor imagery associated with it/unwanted growths) and that weighing up down/the extra “weight”/“size”/“growth” on him re: not “shedding his skin” & how his/a spider’s limbs aren’t going to grow properly unless they shed their skin so then there’s the whole visual of him not growing in a typical Growth way/his metaphorical limbs not getting longer but instead just “growing” by having all of these extra layers/“skin” that hes now trapped in/cant shed to properly grow vs the idea of Brenner wanting him to be like a child and like an adult simultaneously (ie being a Freak & Liking the fact that Henry’s a child vs also stealing his childhood/putting him in a lab/making him behave Like An Adult/making him grow up quickly).

Especially with black widows no longer molting once they reach sexual maturity vs the idea of Henry not being *allowed* to molt/stopped early from molting/being forced to reach that maturity early (smash cut to the SA imagery in the lab) when he hasnt Actually reached it physically.

And then that all also ties so well into the idea of being a Child Forced To Behave Like An Adult/Forced Into Adult Activities rather than Actually Becoming An Adult.

I just!! The line about a spider shedding its carapace as a way of describing Henry’s attempts to leave the lab behind is literally such a perfect line, like there’s something so physical and visceral about it, not only is it such a perfect description of the situation, but the spider aspect then ties so perfectly into Henry’s character specifically.

Especially with the next context TFS Henry & the visual of those spider legs bursting out of his back during the attic scene with Virginia & how that’s Also very Physical in a similar way to this scene (and yet again, Ptolemaea ages like a fine wine.)

And then also, specifically looking at the “To grow,” line, this line specifically always feels like so perfectly like Henry reassuring himself/tears in my eyes over little 15 year old henry “spider guy” creel reminding himself of how spiders grow and how it’s okay even though it hurts, because it just means he’s in Spider Mode and Spider Coded and Based and Spiderpilled HWHDBDDNHEHD like he’s reminding himself that not only do spiders shed their carapaces, but they do so in order to grow/it’s Necessary in order for them to grow. Like it almost feels like the way a parent would try and get a child to do something (ie if a kid loved superheroes, the whole “superman would clean his room 🤨🤨🤨😌😌😌😌” vibe/“a spider would go and clean himself in the shower because spiders need to shed their skin in order to grow-“) but it’s coming from Henry and directed at Himself, which then emphasizes how lonely he is/the lack of parents/Virginia being dead & Victor being locked up & Henry having to parent himself (but then also the other side of the coin and the lowkey Freedom of Henry getting to parent himself in the context of Brenner/no longer being forcibly “parented” by Brenner).

And it works so perfectly with the “grow together” stuff from the VR (yet AGAIN, Ptolemaea ages like a fine wine) vs what I said earlier re: Brenner “forcing” him to grow by making him keep all those unshed layers/giving the illusion of growth when in reality in order to Actually grow, he’d need to shed those layers vs the way that VR Henry is described as “eager to please” etc vs the idea of him not properly growing/not shedding his carapace in order to please Brenner…

Like I just can’t express enough how much I love that part- it that makes me feel like I’m back to when I was first getting interested in Henry as a character (in a very very good way) and is just this instant, perfectly encapsulated reminder of what I love about his whole story/the vibe of it.

Especially with this being Henry’s POV vs the way that not only is this whole part such a perfectly, artistic, extremely thought-out line on behalf of the writer, but it’s also such a perfect insight into Henry’s character & his spider nerdiness & what I said earlier re: spiders not molting anymore being a sign of them reaching adulthood vs when he does finally “shed his carapace”/scrub himself in the shower, he’s comparing it to a spider molting/his “childish” little spider nerd vibes are coming back, he’s both growing and “regressing” because he’s growing into the Child/15 year old that he Is rather than being a child forced to behave like an adult- especially then with adult teacher Henry’s continued love of spiders/the way that “childish” interest remains even when he Is an actual adult.

Anyway! Ptolemaea my beloved….. <333333

When I was writing that part the biggest thing in my mind was a combination of not molting/being held back/being trapped under the layers of what he had to do to survive but specifically in the way of protective layers being added with each trauma/him being forced to grow this thick outer shell layer by layer specifically to defend against what was being done to him/retain his sanity and dignity. Which speaks to a degree of removal from what was done to him, in my mind, this kind of

"It happened to me, and I'm self-aware enough to acknowledge that...but it was done to an outer layer that I can shed, so is it really something I have to live with? Or is it something i can just put away somewhere out of sight and never actually deal with in a healthy, meaningful way?"

and so while he's peeling the carapace that's stunting him, it's like...every light has its shadow. He's able to grow into a normal boy, now, and even though it's sore and tender all over at the moment, it's a good thing. But is the way he's doing it healthy? Is he discarding his carapace without addressing and accepting/healing the ways its weight and prolonged presence warped him?

Or is he hobbling around on eight misshapen legs like

They're a little weirdly shaped, but I can hide them well enough if I make a home in the neatly-trimmed Kentucky bluegrass lawns of suburban America. There's also the more surface aspect of the Will-Henry Mindflayer-Brenner "I felt it everywhere/I still feel him" and Henry thinking that if he scrubs hard enough, he can rid himself of the lingering memories, the same way Will thought that if he could just keep running, he could escape the Mindflayer/the lingering trauma of what happened to him in the UD/the slug stuff.

They're both running away from looming, lingering CSA trauma, just in different ways. Will can run all he wants, but the Mindflayer is going to catch him anyway. His trauma will always catch up to him. Henry can scrub all he wants, he can peel off that outer shell and pretend like he's getting rid of everything that happened to him, but the damage was mental. It's something that's inevitably going to catch up with him until he can't ignore it anymore.

That's also where the burning came from in my mind: Will being rid of the Mindflayer by burning, but him still being able to feel it/it coming back later vs Henry trying to rid himself of his history with Brenner via scrubbing himself raw with burning water because he's still able to feel that history physically/that history will come back to haunt him later much like the Mindflayer haunts Will.

arthur is a buck BUUUUT id also consider a golden retriever. because hes loyal in the same way a dog is. blinded by the love of his owner (go along with it, but, dutch)

john is a wolf . obviously. but thats mostly because wolves are stereotyped as being like. "a strong lone wolf" or whatever, even though he, truly, needs companionship to survive

dutch i like to think as maybe a swan? theyre "elegant" and more aggressive than youd think they would be, which i think fits him. plus theyre a bird that mates for life, which. dutch losing love interests (aside from molly) changes his character a lot throughout the story. so i think swans work.

hosea is ermmm... a fox i think. because of their stereotype of being sneaky and dramatic and stuff . foxes are also super affectionate which is very him.

so the next ones dont really have meanings behind them. i just look at the chatacter and go oh you are this animal.

charles i think is Also a dog. because of the guillible loyalty thing that arthur has going on. charles has it too i think. hes just more likely to run off and fend for himself than arthur would be. im thinking maybe a fighting dog? as a reference to him boxing later on? a giant schauzer perhaps.

sadie is a snow leopard to me . partially because we first meet her in the snow, and partially because (affectionately) her voice sounds like a meow. its all raspy and meow-ish to me.

micah is obviously a snake. i refuse to make him a rat because thats a disrespect to rats. i think he'd be some sort of ball python maybe.

Aizawa Shouta

Aizawa was standing right next to you. The two of you were out for a movie date night, waiting in the too long of a line for the midnight premiere.

You bundled up in so many coats that Aizawa found it cute! But your eyes kept jittering between the front of the line to the title of the movie over and over. You looked like a marshmallow. Aizawa knew you were already reciting what you were going to say to the employee when you got there. Something that wouldn’t happen for another thirty minutes.

Aizawa found your quiet excitement to be entertaining to watch. The way your hands would clap with every step forward. Aizawa had already asked you over a hundred times this week alone, but Aizawa couldn’t help but he couldn't resist another one. “What’s this move about again?”

Despite what should be an annoyance on your face, an award-winning smile present itself on your face. Aizawa watched as you explained what the movie is about. You spare no detail, giving away the background to the movie without going into what the actual movie was about. The small stutters and embarrassed flush still evident in your speech. This went by unnoticed as Aizawa could not hear it over the excitement that fills your speech.

“Oh my god, are you a super fan too?” The man in front of you states, he whips around, his own eyes sparkling. “I dragged all my friends with me here, but no one is as excited as me!”

Aizawa watches on without a word. The two of you chatting about the series that Aizawa wasn’t knowledgeable about at all. Furthermore, his lack of knowledge in this series irked him now. You were blushing and stuttering a lot more now that you were speaking with a stranger. Yet you still had that undeniable excitement in your voice.

“If you and your friend want to sit with us, I’m sure none of my friends would mind! Having a pretty girl who knows what’s going on during the movie is my actual dream come true.” The man says as he places an arm around your shoulder, to which you attempt to get off.

Now, he had passed a boundary.

Aizawa grabs your wrist, and within seconds he has you pressed into his side. Aizawa stands glowering at the stranger in front of him who sneers back. “The hell bro, she isn’t fucking yours.” He says rolling his eyes as he attempts to grab you back.

Aizawa outmaneuvers him, putting himself in front of you. Acting on what could only be high school boy emotions, he presses his lips against yours. Aizawa could not think straight as he bit down onto your bottom lip. Something he knew never failed to make you moan. Sure enough, a moan left your lips, and Aizawa made sure to make it obvious that he was putting his tongue in your mouth.

It lasts only a few seconds more before he can feel your arms weakly pushing against him, a weak protest against your actions. So, Aizawa complies. He pulls away. Making sure to look deep into your eyes which were swimming with different emotions. He smiles at you before snapping his attention to the stranger who was looking away. Fury, embarrassment, and envy on his face.

“Of course she’s not fucking mine, she’s her own damn person,” Aizawa glares as the words stab like knives. “But I am the one fucking her.”

Now that causes a series of shrieks and squeaks from you.

You groan as you bury your face into Aizawa’s chest, wanting nothing more than to disappear from the line. The reaction of the crowd made it known that little make-out had caught peoples attention.

“Sho-Shouta...” You whisper as he now wraps his arm around your waist as the two of you walk, following the line. The man in front now refusing to look backward, which makes Aizawa smile. “That was embarrassing.”

Aizawa winks, even so, having quite enjoyed the spur of emotion from himself, “I’m sorry, my love.”

“Like hell you are.” You retort into his arm and Aizawa chuckles as he presses a kiss to your temple as the ticket booth calls the two of you up.

Yamada Hizashi

“And here with me tonight, listeners! Is the ONE, the ONLY, the AMAZING, Y/L/N Y/N!” Hizashi screamed into his mic. Hizashi was feeling ecstatic that you finally agreed to go on his radio show after years of begging.

“Hi!” You meekly say unto the microphone, unsure if you should wave given no one could actually see you.

“So, y/l/n, tell the audience a little bit about yourself! Let them know all the deets about you!”

You couldn’t help the giggle that escapes your lips. You watch your boyfriend stare at you with the widest grin you’ve ever seen in your life. He was just so outspoken, genuine, and kin that sometimes it made you wonder how someone so... well shy, could ever make him interested in you.

“I’m here too, Mic.” The annoyed voice of Aizawa says, and you laugh some more as Hizashi scoffs, throwing his best friend a wink.

Aizawa had also agreed to join only because you would be there. Being your boyfriend's best friend, he wanted to help you out in case Hizashi became too much Present Mic. Besides, you would get most of the attention! Nevertheless, Aizawa still wanted an introduction.

“Ah yes, the noble Eraserhead is here tonight, too! Listeners, I don’t know if I ever told you, but did you know that I chose his Pro-Hero name?!”

“You were discussing y/l/n.” Aizawa groans as he pinches the bridge of his nose, the tips of his ears turning red.

“OH, YEAH!” Hizashi exclaims as his attention is back onto you. You glance over at Aizawa who sighs and without further hesitation, the night rolls on.

You can’t believe it, but you’re actually enjoying yourself on the Present Mic Radio Show. Hizashi made it easy to talk to the void. Pretty soon, you felt as if it wasn’t even broadcasted as you felt at ease with the conversations. In fact, you had finished a conversation surrounding the latest news with the up and coming new Pro-Heroes. After all, all three of you knew them!

“Moving to the last segment of the night, we’ll be taking in some calls from you beautiful listeners!” Hizashi says throwing his fists into the air, “Start calling in folks, we only have ten minutes!”

You smiled as the calls started, and most of them didn’t need much of your attention. Most of them were more obsessed over the two Pro-Heroes on the show, that is until the very last call.

“Hi,” The scratchy phone audio plays through your headphones, “My question is actually for, y/l/n!”

This stuns all three of you. Because although you had been participating, you weren’t exactly a well-known name. You glanced over at Hizashi. An encouraging smile and thumbs up from Hizashi sent your lips near your mic and you spoke, “Go, um, go ahead?”

“Oh great, well, uh... this might sound weird, but I really love the sound of your voice. I was wondering if, by chance, you would like to go out with me—“

“That’s a hard no,” Hizashi speaks up before you can, a smile on his face as he can’t believe what’s happening, and your cheeks blush scarlet.

“I’m sorry, but why not?”

“Well besides the fact that we don’t know who you are, listener, but y/l/n is my girlfriend!” Hizashi cooly states as he looks down at his fingernails as if it was some sort of power move.

“Oh... well, my offer still stands!” The man continues, “She obviously didn’t say no, it was you who said no.”

You feel dizzy, this was not happening.

“You’re right listener,” Hizashi sighs as if he wasn’t thinking things through. “Instead of being rejected by me, you’re going to get double rejected by my adorable girlfriend! Who’s way out of your league anyway!”

You shake your head at Aizawa who is grinning at this interaction, “I’m sorry, listener. Um, well my answer, my answer is no.”

“Oh looks like the caller hung up, alongside his pride!” Hizashi fakes pouts before cackling, “Alright, until next time! PRESENT MIC, OUT!”

Hizashi rolls his eyes as the On-Air sign turns off. He tosses his glasses aside looking at you with a tired, but victorious smile. “Now get your cute ass over here and show me I’m yours.”

You pretend to scoff, but stand up anyways.

“And that’s my cue,” Aizawa says leaving followed by the echoing laughter of you and Hizashi.

Pairing : Mingyu x Reader Word Count : 1,798 A/N : aaaa, first of all thank you sososo much for the request!! and also i hope?? this suffices. ive never been to a fansign (knock on wood) and i dont ?? necessarily know how they work lolol??? but i did do some research (and by that i mean i googled fansign experiences and watched cute fansign moments - those were mostly for myself) and this was born. once again thank you for the request and i hope to see you requesting more sometime in the future!!

REQUESTS ARE OPEN!!

It wasn't your first time at a fansign, but nerves still twisted in your stomach without real end in sight; The feeling was something easily described as nervous but far too uncomfortably close to being also justifiably classified as sick. It was bareable from the beginning, as you sat and observed others going to greet them, waiting patiently (or not) for your time to come. The nerves sloshed in your stomach like a morning sea, gentle waves that could easily be ignored for the time being.

But as time ticked on, and your turn came closer, the gentle slosh turned into violent tides one that wasn't as easy to swallow down. 

With only little hesitation, you followed the crowd to line up, fingers fiddling with the album until you were climbing up the short staircase and taking a knee before Seungcheol, the first one in line.

Your nerves had tamed themselves as you moved through members, it becoming much more easier to lift your hand to theirs and messily tangle your fingers as you held easy conversation. It was much easier to ignore, until you were gently moving over on your increasingly sore knees and were face to face with Mingyu. His eyes followed you as you settled into your spot, hardly batting a lash as staff moved to pull off the previous fans gifted headband. It was only seconds before his dusty pink lips were quirking up into an inviting smile, only a sliver of pearly white teath peaking out with his soft smile. "Hello," He greeted first, his voice syrup slow as he sounded out each syllable. You bowed your head momentarily, before lifting it once more to face him, a mirrored smile of Mingyus on your own lips, "Hi Mingyu," Shamelessly and without much thought you continued on, "Been waiting much to long to meet you." His smile got impossibly brighter at the slip of words, back hunching over the table to close the space between you that much more as he picked up the marker from the table, "Been waiting equally as long for you,-" His voice faded off eyes lifting from the glossy pages of the album as he waited for you to complete his sentence. With only slight dumbfounded hesitation, as your mind tried to unmuddle itself from trying to wrap itself around Mingyu's words and you willed your rapidly beating heart to calm, you responded simply"(Y/N)" "(Y/N)~" He sounded out, his voice close to a hum, holding strong resemblance to a kittens purr as his head ducked, dark charcoal hair flopping off his forehead to cover most of his eyes. His hand moved swifty over the paper, a signature he's signed much too many times just today. You watched for a moment in silence, before your muddled mind remembered the headband that you specifically picked out for Mingyu in your purse. With a soft ah, that peaked Mingyu's attention, his deep brown eyes peaking up through his fringe to watch as you twisted your body so that you can dig through your oversized bag.

Once your hands curled around the band you carefully pulled it free from where it laid, and brought it out, Mingyu's full attention back on you as the hearts attached to the headband by springs bounced before him with your movement. "I brought this for you," You announced, your forearms pressed against the edge of the table so the headband was more of less between your two bodies, in what some might call the neutral zone. "Ah, how pretty," He commented, eyes averting from the headband to grab your own gaze, the glimmer of stage lights reflecting off his dark eyes making it seem like the comment made wasn't one just offhanded for the headband. Your stomach twisted in on itself as you felt heat begin at the tips of your ears. When no response was given, Mingyu lowered his head, an open invitation for you to place the headband onto his head. You flickered your eyes to passive staff before pushing up further on your knees so you could gently place it ontop his head. His head lifted much too fast before you could move back, the hearts bouncing on their springs as Mingyu's eyes became level with your own. There was still a reasonable amount of room between both faces, but nonetheless you were close enough to count his eyelashes and that fact alone was enough to leave your cheeks tinted red as you rushed to lean back on your knees once more. "How does it look?" He asked, his voice had a goofy twang to it as he purposefully bopped his head so the bright red hearts swayed on their springs. You cocked your head to the side, eyes moving over every aspect of Mingyu's face and how the red tint to the heart contrasted the dark black of his hair, "Ah, how pretty." Your voice was teasing as you used his own words against him, earning a full toothed smile. His hand moved to gently prode your own that rested against the top of the table, only stopping once you lifted it up palm coming in contact with Mingyu's open palm. Your hands stayed pressed together for a moment, his fingers significantly longer than your own as the tops of his fingers curled over your tips, before his fingers were slipping through your own and your hands were interlocked. "How long have you been waiting for this?" You asked, bringing back up the conversation starter from the beginning, your heart still heavy with the retaliated words that you definitely were never expecting.

With a squeeze to your hand, Mingyu replied, "My whole life," You couldn't help but playfully and abashedly roll your eyes at the corniness of it all, "More realistically from the start of this fansign." You raised your brows at his chosen words, your chest able to process it quicker than your mind as it began to beat at a quicker pace, one that you feared would be heard by Mingyu. Before you could reply, the staff was hovering over Mingyu's shoulder and pushing your album along to the next. With a guarded stare you lifted your eyes from Mingyu's as the staff begin to pull off the headband that you placed and put his askew hair back in place. Time was up, the fan beside you was waiting for you to move on and your hand was still tightly grasped in Mingyus. You turned your eyes back to Mingyu and gave him a tight lipped smile as your hands swayed between your faces, gentle squeezes exchanged every now and then, "I think our time is up, theres so much I wasn't able to say." You merely pouted, hand beginning to unlace unwillingly from Mingyus. The action was stopped as his free hand lifted to gently press against the back of your hand keeping it trapped between his two bigger once, enveloped in the heat of his palms. "We'll meet again in our dreams, and you'll be able to tell me it all." You pursed your lips into an embarrassed smile, your free hand going to gently rest against the back of his hand, any nerves thrown to the wind as you spoke without much hesitance, "I'll wait for you in my dreams." His chuckle was low and his eyes curled into smiles, hands gently tightening around your own for a moment before the heat was gone and your hands were left to their own accord, "Dont make me wait another lifetime." He warned, tauntingly and teasingly wagging his finger at you as you edged over to Seungkwan who sat beside Mingyu. His stare was aparant no matter how hard you tried to focus your full attention on Seungkwan, your eyes had a mind of their own and each time you felt the presence of Mingyu's stare your eyes were fleeting over to his own, his smile turning abashed by being caught. By the end of the line, Mingyu wasn't out of mind but he was out of sight which made it much easier to focus on the other members in front of you. It was over much too fast for your liking, as your stood up for the first time and with wobbly knees you made it off the stage, a thrumming pain in your knee caps from how long you kneeled. You made it back to your seat, your knees practically singing praises as the rest. You rubbed absently at them as you watched the last group of girls being herd through by staff. Your eyes wandered from the front of the line, moving over each boy that you could see over the heads of kneeling fans before they landed on Mingyu. The space before him vacant as he waited for the fan to move over, and his eyes were wandering. They moved through the crowd, raking purposefully through the first row and then the second and so on until they were scanning down yours. And it wasn't like you were expecting them to stop on you, but your heart definitely held high expectations as its beating once more became more prominent the closer his eyes came. Your heart wasn't disappointed. The search came to a hault the moment they landed on you, his brown eyes softening at the sight. You stared back unsure of what to do, as your hand lifted from your laugh to awkwardly jerk in a makeshift wave, which seemingly was enough to make the man at the table laugh, his hand raising to mimick your hand movement.

You'd feel embarrassed if it was anyone other than Mingyu making jokes are your expense. Instead of lowering his hands once more, he rose the other and pressed both palms together before pressing the back of one hand against the side of his head eyes drifting shut as he pretended to sleep. His lips pulled up into an uneven smile as his eyes opened to see if you recieved the message. You silently lipped back 'See you there,' before his glimmering eyes were taken back to the fan before him. The amount of times for the remaining fansign that Mingyu took any opportunity to look in your general direction was baffling. He didn't try to charade any more messages to you instead settling on a simple smile whenever your gazes connected. And as you sat idly in the subway, fingers flipping through the signed album every moment that Mingyu took to make sure you were there and were watching him alone flooded back as you read over his message for the first time that night : To : (Y/N) I'm glad both our waits have come to an end, we'll meet again. I promise you that.
