I was going through my project file for Jason and the Three Terrors because I'm about to start Part III so that's a new folder, okay. I was tossing all my notes and stuff into the trash pile and cleaning it all up and LOOK WHAT I FOUND

This is the note for how to open the story back in the ORIGINAL ORIGINAL draft outline, back when Athanasia was not going to be a secret child. I was going to have her be just like Damian but 18 months younger and a girl. I'm very glad I changed her to being a secret, because I think it added more depth to her character and to the story, but this is also such a fun opening scene. Now I want both stories. LOL

I honestly don't really ship anything (except for canon stuff and oakworthy) but it is fun to challange myself to draw charakter interactions. Was this image planned to have strong lightning and more rendering than my usual style? No, but that's how it turned out.

Also I'm not that big on romance so a lot of these can be taken as platonic I suppose (i do not plan on doing anything beyond kissing for this).

good riddance 2023 LMAO I had a great time in the first 6 months but the last 6 were lowkey hell :) luckily I feel like I'm doing better now and I'm ready to draw more little guys 💪

here's my recap for 2023, aka Local Artist Cant Stop Drawing Different Personas for Themself - Jan, Feb, Mar, and July are all my.. livestream persona? I guess that's what I'd call it. Mar in particular is my vtuber model art, and July is my pngtuber - Apr is just a random drawing I did based on a drawfee challenge - May is a drawing of me and my best friend (shoutout to her fr) - June is a redraw of a super old character (named Skye I think?). that was when I was trying out a different art style - Aug is an attempt to OC-ify me and my best friend for a comic I was going to make. I never finished the comic but I'm really happy with the design pages so I might post those eventually - Sep is a vent piece tbh, I didn't have a lot from that month besides depressing shit so you get mitski lyrics - Oct is when I started getting back into NRB and started making a LOT of art, so I just chose my favorite (titled: non-biblically-accurate Buck McFadden) - Nov is The Minstrel of Ravenswood Bluff - Dec is Cora Love

finding avaz to be somehow better than speech assistant solely because of the grammar function - the main drawback being that, well, speech assistant *is* sort of more my kind of thing. If speech assistant had the same kind of grammar thing... i'd want to pay for it even more, lol. alas, ten bucks i have not. But! That's not the point waow am i getting sidetracked

The point is the main drawback I can see to avaz is that there's no way to use my own keyboard, and thus, no way to like... type cyrillic? because I may not know what words i need, but when I'm trying to make a sentence, boy does everything suddenly become obvious! I Am Not A Linguist.

I mean like, i do understand why it is the way it is, but still... sadge.

That being said, this is so cool to me:

whats a good brand or specific product for red/dark makeup? (eyeshadow, eyeliner, liquid lipstick, w/e)

i find it really difficult to find the specific shades i have in my mind and when i do find smthn similar they're not very pigmented or way too expensive or part of a huge palette/set that I don't really need u_u

also fairly cheap/affordable but ideally not ethically/morally terrible makeup in general, like, for the basics. as someone who only does some makeup sometimes but likes to get creative and silly every now and then.

most of the time i just do basic cell shading. here ill explain my rendering process after i choose my base colours, ill try keep it short & sweet!! nvm warning buckle up its really super long.

flat colours -> fully shaded!!

⭐️Picking shading colours!

usually it's just the base colour with +saturation OR a hue shift! i dont really lower brightness.

This is what i mean by HSB, i never use the colour wheel i prefer the sliders!!!

i like my art to look super colourful so i do things like shading pink with blue instead of with a darker pink or red, as shown in the above callie piece.

examples ft lumity:

skin: i always keep it very simple & cartoony! over the nose, below the eyes, the neck & sometimes the tips of the ears is where i'll put shading

hair: as u can See, it's not darker than the base colour at all!! for dark hair like luz's, i brighten & saturate the colour, and for light hair like amity's i just shift the hue a little!

⭐️more kewl tips:

colourpick from yourself!!!! instead of making a new colour for everything, try using a colour u already have down!!!! like below: by limiting my colour palette, it looks more harmonious

really messy image but i hope u get what i mean. also the "off white / black" thing is a separate choosing base colours thing!! i can expand on that if anyone's interested 😙

shove halftones in wherever they fit. here are the 2 pngs i use!! there a rlly good alt to gradients, i used a LOT of them in that callie piece!!! clipping mask over where u want it & alpha lock to change colour.

⭐️here's a WHERE i put the shading:

look st the environment ur guy is in!! pick where your light source is coming from & look where that light will hit and where it is blocked by something.

bounce light: the sun's light is also shining on the grass! so powerful the green reflects right back!

this is kinda more realistic lighting now.

i kinda just put a circle wherever theres a corner!

and i put that Beautiful Shape a lot wherever. i change it a little depending on the character, sometimes its triangular or squarey but thats the base shape! i dont even know what its called but i love it.

actually, my grandfest art are probably some of the most detailed art i have! u can see urself where i put shading & stuff - they do have more desaturated colour palettes though:

& here are some additional examples ^_^ flat colour -> shaded -> multiply layer -> lighting

in this one u can see the hand & leg at the back are completely in shadow too :)

anyway i think that's kinda it? i dont really know how to explain it, i just do what feels & looks right to me??? remember that im Not an expert & this is just how i do things :)

I was thinking about the language barrier's reader a bit and thought that the inclusion of certain types of jewelry on reader looked odd to Hylians was really neat! So I looked around to see what types of jewelry Hylians could wear and the most I see them wearing are gold necklaces, bracelets, and the occasional jewel earring. Which isn't a very diverse jewelry set, but it is interesting. It got me thinking if the reader wears more gothic or alternative types of jewelry like studded rhinestone belts or spiky chained collars or even an industrial piercing on one if their ears. It can also add to the group's suspicions since they're timelines are a lot more fantastical and dark/gothic elements are more see of as apart of the evil side. They could've thought that reader was a spy or smthn! Thoughts?

like tgirls? hm.. im not a trans girl so im pulling from my experience as black trans person whos struggled w being able to be feminine.

i guess if i had to say, do it weird, do it the way it makes you happy. eurocentric beauty standards and white supermacist/patriarichal caricatures have already said their piece about us, but gender expression is so much more than just masc and fem.

if passing feels so far a way, what can you do instead to distance yourself from an image you’ve at best felt neutral about and at worst hated. a lot of alt subcultures were pioneered by queer and/or people of color! do u see something thats wormed its way into ur brain but thought maybe this could only be for other people? go for ittt, build up your collection of cool shit. ofc theres the issue of money, but there has always been broke alt people, you can always find tips online. through those, you can find community and people more than delighted to see you for who you are.

AND.. and and and and, pleaaaseee do not be comparing yourself to white skinny girls on the internet, find models that look like YOU. trans women who have gotten weird with it and are vocal about their own journeys. you do not need E to be a woman, and though the people irl may think so, life is a transitory (lol) process. you dont just suddenly look like the woman you’ve always dreamed of, work on the foundation and your self confidence as you grow. also be safe, i love you.

Decided to post these seperetly so i can rant on each one. Hope you like it :) i really do

Rant and alt backround version behing the read more:

So the full backround ended up accidentely bisexual lol. Now on to the rant, these are meant as the final forms in my magical girl au, that's why they are so extra. This design has a lot more red than usual because being the final battle theres a lot more rage and hate (i think late season Scary in mg au has a lot more blue accents to symbolize love), and her hair is blue to show the love side as well as her fire (plus blue fire is much hotter than normal fire). I wanted her shoes to have a lava/lava lamp effectvand i initially made them a more purple pink but i think the magenta is better (the more pinkish then reddish tones also symbolize how she has come to accept her past as a more girly girl). Her coat has the coat from the previous design but i also added doodler like eyes (as i did in all the final forms) as a nod to them parting with D00d but them still being influential and important. The tentacles on her came, ger shoes and her arms are also a dodler refrence. I think with these designs i went more dnd like so she looks like a fantasy warlock a bit or at least that was my intention. The metal on her top is black parade inspired. And her whole silhouette is inspired by manta rays. I also added a lot of spikes and chains (mostly cause I think they're cool), i really enjoy outting her into more "evil" looking costumes in this au, but also generally (a big pet peeve of mine is charakter healing and losing their alt-ness) so yeah hope you like this little rant :) as always i put a lott of thought and symbolism of these outfits lol.
