Prev reblog, imagine if they all fought for Fernando's love 🥹
Flavio who devoted and then killed his career in service to Fernando, Carlos Sr. who Fernando has looked up to and known for 20+ years, Lawrence who can provide for Fernando with his deep pockets, Adrian who has the potential to build Fernando a winning car
Who will he pick!!!! I vote Carlos Sr 🤭🤭
#uhhhhh hmm what are the tropes#idk i feel like both flavio and lawrence have a sugar daddy vibe but in different ways#like lawrence is a straight up sugar daddy literally putting so much money towards fernando#Flavio was/is more like offering a path on which Fernando can succeed#adrian is hmmmm yeah idk if theres any trope for that hsjfjf#like. to me i feel like newey was drawn to aston for several reasons#1. money obv 2. location/ease 3. the potential to build a midfield team into a top team#HOWEVER 4. finally getting to work with Fernando which he's said he'd like to do#so the trope is like. getting to give him a redemption arc#(<- i wanna cry cause ive seen Nando say he probably won't stay long enough to reap the rewards UGH)#anyhow#carlos sr is obviously longtime friends to lovers#aaagghhh even apart from joke shipping i really think their relationship is so cute 😭#there were so many moments in his show that made me 🥹 like wow they're such good friends#anyways. having many old man yaoi thoughts lately......#i think its so funny how we consider him to be the old man of f1#but he has like at least 4 actual old men who hes sedu- i mean befriended and works with of course#time to make ship names everybody!!!#(i is why he was nicer to seb after he came back. cause he was an old man! dhfjkf in the context of f1)#fernando alonso#f1#catie.rambling.txt

sorry about the out of nowhere ask but i thought id note something minor ive seen around: a lot of the time (especially on reddit) theres a lot of positivity for specifically trans women, and very little for trans men. and if a trans man/transmasc person tries to comment on that they get ridiculed for it. but then if someone posts transmasc positivity at all, people in the comments of that post will talk about how there "isnt enough positivity for trans women" despite the fact that most of the positivity posted is for trans women. i dont know, just something weird (it could also just be because reddit is kinda really different, environment-wise, but considering theres been similar things pretty much. everywhere else. yeah)
i do think a lot of this has to do with demographics – from what i've seen, reddit tends to have more trans women than trans men, so it doesn't surprise me to see more posts that are geared toward trans women there.
tl;dr because this got super long: people are right to say that there isn't enough positivity for trans women, but there also isn't enough for trans men. the fact that so many of us are ridiculed for trying to put more out there is the real problem.
at the end of the day, there really isn't enough positivity for any trans people because most of the world either hates us or wants to forget we exist. we have our little pockets of community where we support each other and lift each other up, but until the rest of society gets on board, it'll never be enough. so even in spaces where there's more positivity for trans women than for trans men, they're absolutely right to say there isn't enough positivity for trans women! and that's why i don't inherently have a problem with spaces like that – trans joy and positivity is always a good thing and always needed, and spreading that for part of the community doesn't take away from the rest of the community, it just means there's some of us are bit closer to getting the kind of love and support they deserve than they were before, and that's a good thing! you can't make everything for everyone, but if we all work at lifting each other up, eventually it'll all balance out and we'll all be better off for it. so if you happen to find a space that's for all trans people but tends to be more geared toward trans women when it comes to positivity, instead of getting caught up in how much positivity for trans women is already there, i think the best thing to do is to add positivity for trans men! we're the ones who lift each other up, so if we see a gap in the support, we're the ones with the power to step in and fill that gap.
and i can honestly understand why trans women in those spaces might get defensive or upset if someone points out the amount of positivity for trans women as if it's a bad thing, even if what that person is actually trying to say is just that they wish there was more for trans men too. i can't really blame anyone for that defensiveness because i feel the exact same way when people point out the amount of positivity for trans men&mascs here as if it's a bad thing, even though i know a lot of them are really just expressing in an imperfect way that they wish there was more for other trans people as well. wanting to defend those sources of joy in a world that offers us so few of them is only natural.
now, all of that being said, what i absolutely DO have a problem with is when that defensiveness gets to the point of attacking trans men's efforts to add positivity for ourselves as well. it perpetuates these false ideas that 1) there's only a finite amount of trans joy that can be expressed and we have to fight over it, and 2) trans men are currently hoarding that finite resource and are obligated to give it up entirely so that other trans people have a chance at getting it. obviously, both of those statements are deeply untrue – one part of the community getting support doesn't take anything away from other trans people because we should all be aiming for more support and positivity, not just redistributing the inadequate amount we currently have to more "worthy" subjects, and it's impossible to quantify how much support each part of the community gets because that's so dependent on the individual spaces you're looking at as well as what you're counting as support. and as much as i can understand feeling protective of our spaces, when that protectiveness leads us to turn on each other and push each other out of spaces that were supposed to be for all of us, that's taking it way too far.
and i also do think there's an attitude in a lot of trans spaces (and in more general queer/feminist/leftist/activist spaces) that trans men are a more acceptable target for that kind of ridicule because we're men and people in those spaces tend to already be very settled into this idea that there's never a bad time to tell men to sit down and shut up, even when the men in question are marginalized and trying to fight against their own oppression. if someone says "ugh there's too much positivity for trans women here," that's going to be met with a lot of people (rightfully) saying "hey, what the hell, man, that's super transmisogynistic." but if the same is said about trans men, those same people have no problem saying "i know, right? men love taking everything for themselves, it's the worst."
and that kind of attitude even extends to trans men simply creating positivity in spaces that don't have as much of it, even if they don't comment at all on the other kinds of positivity that might exist in that space. especially if we dare to add specific mentions of trans men onto an existing positivity post (which isn't actually a bad thing at all! adding more good to a good post doesn't take anything away from the original good!), we're met with a chorus of "wow, why do men always have to make everything about themselves, can't women have anything?" it's a perspective that groups us in with cis men as this privileged horde that talks over everyone else and seeks to dominate every space it enters, completely ignoring the fact that the image of loud domineering men they're invoking is based on cis(het white abled) men who've spent their whole lives being told they're the most important people in every room, which is very different from trans men who were brought up being taught to make ourselves small and be of service to more important people. they forget (or simply choose to ignore) that when we're loud about our needs and experiences and even our joy, it's not because taking up space was a practice passed down to us by our manhood, it's because we had to learn to be loud when we realized that staying quiet meant making it easier for the people who hate us to dispose of us without the rest of the world even noticing our absence.
all of that to say, i absolutely do think you've hit on a real issue here, i just don't think that issue actually has to do with the prevalence of positivity for trans women. it's a lot less about who gets more or less support in any given space, and a lot more about how those spaces react when the less represented groups start making their presence known. and yeah, a lot of trans spaces have some pretty damn awful reactions to trans men who literally just want to lift each other up and feel supported by our community in return.
#this is. very stream of consciousness i hope it makes sense#and if it doesn't please cut me some slack i'm running on like 3 hours of sleep rn#transandrophobia#transandromisia#transmisandry#virilmisia#virilphobia#anti transmasculinity#transmascphobia

DCU from a Marvel fans limited perspective
recently i've accidently been sucked into the DCU universe, mostly Bat family, if i'm being honest, and although i've never watched a single movie/episode, this is what i have gathered from purely reading the occasional fanfiction/lots of tumblr posts
SPOILERS i guess
There are A LOT of batkids
Bruce Wayne adopts these motherfuckers like they're some kind of limited edition pokemon set
no one is actually sure how many there are but if you have black hair and blue eyes and live in gotham, Batman doesn't care if you've got parents or not. you're coming home with him
There appears to be five Robins and Batman goes though these children like a chainsmoker with a pack of cigarettes
people die a lot
Thats okay though because people come back to life a concerning amount as well
Jason Todd died and came back to life by being dumped in a pit of magical water
Damien Wayne is the only biological child of Bruce and he mentions this a lot
Dick Greyson was the first Robin and the first adoption and i think he and Bruce got in a fight and he left to become Nightwing
Jason Todd stole the Batmobile's wheels and became the second Robin. after he came back to life he became Red Hood
Tim Drake was not an orphan, he just fit Bruce's target demographic and was conveniently close (I mean come on, it's like express shipping) He is also some kind of super-genius. He was the third Robin but became Red Robin/Drake
Stephanie brown(?) was the fourth robin(?), not sure for how long. People get upset when other people forget. I think she's called Spoiler or something
Damien Wayne is the final Robin. Hes this assassins son and im pretty sure Talia dropped him off at the Wayne Manor and said, "I had him through the terrible twos, you get the teen years'
Not entirely sure if Tim runs Wayne enterprises
Brucie wayne is the funniest fucking thing i swear
He's so stupid
not sure is Tim, Dick and Jason follow Bruce's lead and become absolute airheads as well
Alfred is a butler
Alfred has guns
There's someone called Duke and Cass knocking around
The Justice League think Batman works alone
someone in the JL is allergic to the colour yellow
there is a concerning amount of Danny Phantom x DC crossover fics
sames goes for Miraculous
Tim Drake is Bi and for some reason people don't like that
internet is divided on whether of not Batman is a bad dad
#OnlyInGotham is a thing?
Gotham is like an australian NYC
the Riddler is a not funny, less aggressive version of the Joker
apparently Alcatraz and Arkham are different prisons but thats on me
there's a whole group of superheroes out there, each have strong powers and they decide to leave the most dangerous city to the member that has no powers and dresses up as an anthropomorphic bat and runs around the city causing copious amounts of property damage with his children
there is a girl called barbra? Gordon
there is a criminally small amount of content for the girls
for some reason people ship the bat kids together, ike, anytime you have to remind yourself 'its TECHNICALLY not incest is Not Good'
Clark Kent is running round acting as if his reading glasses are the only thing standing between a normal life and CHAOS and the worst thing is that he is right
i am a MCU fan and i was SO sure that Deadpool was MCU but now i'm not so sure
Fandom likes to have this troupe that Bruce wayne doesn't believe batman exists when obviously the superior troupe is that Gotham is pretty sure they are exes
teen titans and young justice are a thing but i cant figure out which robin is who.
Damien Wayne has enough animals to open a zoo
who tf in the batfam are metas?????
Batman has definetely used the Tired Dad voice on villains and the Brucie Wayne voice on the JL
Bruce Wayne has contingency plans if someone discovers his contingency plans
THERES A PLACE CALLED THE FUCKING BAT BURGER???????
it took 2 robins until batman realized that a small child running around in a vest top and speedos was not the greatest idea
Someone needs to tell me, like right now what's going on, where to start and what to read. bc rn im LIVING on chaotic fics
#bruce wayne#brucie wayne#batman#dick grayson#nightwing#jason todd#red hood#tim drake#red robin#damian wayne#dc robin#dc comics#dc universe#someone pls tell me what DC means im actually loosing my mind here#batfam

so i decided i’m not busy enough with all of my other projects and i’m going to redesign my old wcrw au characters :D starting with moon and pebbles cause they needed it most
these are soooo much better and cleaner. the others were too cluttered. for comparison: here's moon and pebbles' old designs. you see what i mean?
story concept (emphasis on concept) under cut!!
Looks to the Moon and Five Pebbles were born in the mountains, to the colony of 'ancients' that lived there. A to be decided cause of death wiped out most of the colony, the only survivors being the canon counterparts of the iterators. Almost everyone decided to leave the mountains, going off into their own groups. Moon, being the oldest of her friends, led her group out of the mountains and into the nearby marshland.
Her group consisted of Five Pebbles (brother from another litter), NSH (her soon to be ex mate), UI (her kin(cousin)), and GCW (no special relation, just along for the ride). The cats wanted to separate themselves from their old customs, and renamed themselves. Moon became Moonsight, Pebbles became Pebblesnap, NSH became Jaystrike, and the others are TBD.
The cats settled in different territories, recruiting loners along the way. Moonsight formed MoonClan, with Pebblesnap as her deputy. Their neighboring Clan is (UI)Clan, with JayClan and WindClan(or GrayClan. Idk yet) across a stretch of farmland.
Somewhere between this and the events of the story, they connect with StarClan, and Moonsight changes her name to Moonstar, along with the other leaders. Not sure if I want leaders to keep their nine lives in this au, cause theres a lot of leader-swapping and keeping track of lives is. Boring. For now they can stay, but they may or may not get removed.
A few years after the Clans first form, each Clan has enough cats to support themselves against enemies.
How do I transition. There's a fire in MoonClan's territory, and Moonstar and Pebblesnap are caught in camp trying to save everyone and Moonstar sacrifices herself to save Pebblesnap. She loses a life to the fire, and another while recovering. Her injuries leave her unable to run the Clan for many moons, and she transfers her leadership to Pebblesnap, fearing she may never recover. Pebblesnap becomes Pebblestar, and Moonstar becomes Moonsight. Pebblestar appoints Goldenglare as deputy. (working name; this is meant to be King Scav's citizen drone lol)
---
Aaand that's it for now, there is way way way more for their stories, but since I plan on doing all the scugs and they tie into their stories directly, I'd rather save that for their respective posts :)
The designs I made are meant to be post-Saint, so by the end of this Pebblestar has a full star on his forehead, no scar and is fully sighted. Moonsight has a slashed star. And obviously their names are different.
---
Just for fun, I want to organize these events into their own concept series. (Titles are taken from the OST)(yes they're out of order it bothers me too don't worry)(it just makes more sense in the au)
Book 1 - Sundown: Looks to the moon POV. This would follow or start during the ancient's deaths, and follow Moon on her journey out of the mountain. Ends with the formation of the 4 groups, eventually Clans.
Book 2 - Random Gods: Pebblesnap POV. Explores the newfound religion of the Clan cats, ending with the Clan leaders accepting their new names. Also finalizes the Clan borders and their full moon meeting location (Below/on an abandoned radio tower. Yes this is supposed to be Sky Islands)
Book 3 - Moondown: Moonstar POV. Timeskip to when the fire happens, and when Moonstar loses her lives and use of her back leg. Ends with Pebblestar stepping up to leadership.
I don't like writing or else I'd make a series out of this lol. Maybe comics? But I can't see myself putting that much effort into this.
#rain world#rain world au#warrior cats#warrior cats x rain world#wc x rw#sleepys wcrw au#<- :0 new tag!!#looks to the moon#rw looks to the moon#five pebbles#rw five pebbles#with moons leg i tried to get the point across rhat it was a burn scar#not sure if i did that very well but it is what it is#anyway. i've typed too much in the past 24 hours#nap time!#btw moon is older than pebbles by like. a year? a little less?#same parents different litters situation

warning⚠️: spoilers for Agatha All Along epsiode 5 ahead, so continue at your own risk
Okay after episode 5 I kinda had this idea about the witches trials
So I'm going to be totally honest, I think there is something more going on than this being just a regular trial. It's felt very different than the others and I think that there's a lot of possible reasons for that, but for the sake of this theory, I'm just going to use what we've been shown and assume that this was an actual trial by the road and not an illusion or vision.
So just like WandaVision, the episodes have kinda gone through a couple decades, the first trial being the 60s (it feels the least in your face, but the clothing style and suburban aesthetic of the whole house give me 1960s vibes), the second being 70s, and the third being 80s.
I think it's really interesting that these are all settings of Episodes of WandaVision. Maybe it's because Agatha is there and she lived in the hex but it's sort of odd to me that the road is creating entire trials around these decades when none of the coven witches really have any ties to them. I'd also like to add that they feel distinctly different than the ones in WandaVision. Those felt like sitcoms pulled straight from that time, while these don't have that same feel. They feel like they're inspired by the actual time period not television from those eras.
However, while none of the coven witches have any ties to these decades, there is still someone on the road who does, and that would be none other than Billy Maximoff (Aka Teen).
The big reveal at the end of the episode left us with SO many questions about Teen/Billy, but the conformation that he is, in fact, Wanda's son also could explain a lot.
Billy Maximoff grew up through these decades (especially the 80s, which is also the epsiode that he gets revealed as Wanda's son). He was convieced in the 60s, born in the 70s, and grew up in the 80s (obviously he lives through the 90s and 2000s as well, but since we're only on our 3rd trial, we havent gotten there yet). Another interesting thing to note is the absence of any 1950s themed trial, which also happens to be the only WandaVision episode where he isn't there (I know he was like a fetus in episode 2, but it still had Wanda reveal she was pregnant by the end, while epsiode 1 had no hint or mention of him and Tommy).
And since he actually grew up in each of these decades, he doesn't associate them with sitcoms like Wanda does, since she grew up in the 90's/2000's, which would explain why the sitcom element isn't there, but the time period shift is. It also explains why each of them feel a little too modern to be the actual points in time (that might just be me, but its just feels like theres tiny modern twist in each one). It's because it's a mix between Billy Maximoff and Billy Kaplan's childhoods.
I'm not sure whether it's consciously or unconsciously, but I think Billy is influencing the road, and not just in the most recent epsiode like a lot of people think. It very well could be subconsciously, kind of like how Wanda was doing at first in WandaVision, or he could be totally aware of what he's doing, but it all depend on how much he knows about himself, his history, and his powers. It also could be the road just changing to conform to Billy, and his magic has no affect on it.
I just think that this is a really interesting detail that could tell us a lot about the trials in futures episodes. If you have nay thoughts on it please let me know!!

Girlhood and Cassandra Cain: a messy analysis
I love how through Batgirl (2000) we just see Cass learn to be a semi-functioning "normal" girl and how she slowly goes from a life centred around justice and violence to a girl with so much wonder in her heart
Like girl starts out only knowing that she can be one thing: A good fighter. So obviously, to her, her own life outside of that means nothing if its non existent.
And at the same time, she doesn't really know what being a "regular person" means. She's had 2 identities: Weapon and Batgirl. In between both she was just surviving and it probably sucked rlly bad. She used to not picture a life outside of Cain, and now she cant picture a life outside of Batgirl. She literally has met like a total of 30 ppl in her life and talked to like 4.
But even with her very limited idea of normal social interactions she is unafraid of trying to show ppl love. She sees through their body language that the opposite of pain is love. But that kind of love requires an interaction outside of fighting.
She can't understand english much at the beginning but her initial drive to learn is not to be a better detective or batgirl related, its her love for people. For them to be happy. Its like a way of being useful.
But when others treat her in the same way, when others show her affection, she wants so bad to experience those connections over and over again. Mutual loving relationships are a new experience to her and she can't get enough of it.
She needs help on a case so what does she do? She breaks into Stephanie's room after meeting her like a single time because who knocks anyways?
wdym its not normal to knock ppl out when they're annoying? Like its convenient so y not?
She quickly makes her first friends but doesn't really know how to act or communicate but still manages to joke around in her own way. But they're happy, and she's happy, so it works.
She even watches crime shows and reality tv like guides on how to interact with people on missions and irl.
But gradually, all these small interactions let her become a person, for her to share small things about herself with others. Relationships let her be someone. Sharing thoughts, having conversations, working together, and anything that involves the small human pleasure of company become things she looks forward to.
And little by little, she starts doing things for herself. Like bro runs around Gotham, night into morning, holding onto a rose because its something thats hers and its pretty but she doesn't even know how plants work, but she's got the spirit. (yes ik that the rose is a randomly placed metaphor for cass having a bad work life balance but its so cute)
She starts going outside as a normal person instead of only for missions. She does normal girl things like going to restaurants but kind of not really cause wtf is a balanced diet.
Being able to share something about herself with someone and to sit in a mutual understanding of each other becomes easy. She lets herself be open to change and finds herself looking forward to living.
Wanting something for herself and being her own person is such a foreign concept to how she was raised but she loves it.
She experiments with everything to see what feels right. She starts flirting with boys, going to parties, dressing up in different styles of fashion. She wants to experience everything that girls do
She also learns that being a girl is different from what the other bats experience
Which sucks especially when she can read people's body language. As batgirl, in her scary ass outfit she was only terrifying and strong. But as a normal girl, people sometimes objectify her which has to be the oddest experience when u could kill someone with the blink of an eye.
Even her new father and brother see her differently than she sees them. Theres a weird social thing that comes with "girlness" that she doesn't understand, where girl things are supposed to be weak and have to be protected. But logically, shes like, yall gotta be protected from me be so forreal.
She dont gaf. Shes got bigger things to be ashamed about and being a girl is not one of them.
As she experiences the downsides of girlhood, she learns of the social expectations that come along. And instead of playing along blindly, she uses them to mess with ppl (and bruce). Cass understands more than anyone that social expectations and behaviours are just created performances that bring ppl together. So she chooses the ones she likes and completely rejects what she doesn't like.
and in the end she picks girly things like bold lipstick, fancy dresses, fashion, because she loves pretty things not because its whats expected. Social norms are like toys she can play with and put aside when they aren't fun.
Like she'll still get into a bar fight after eating the entire menu cause she can. Anyways ted talk over
#shes literally just a girl#wifey material#that motorcycle fit EATS SO BAD LIKE WITH THE WOLF CUT OMG#Fashion icon like i might make a compilation of her best fits#dc comics#cassandra cain#batgirl#batman#batfam

oh oh i have an interesting discussion/query ! what do u think the meta purpose of making kris act like they do at the end of chapter 1 was? specifically like the imagery of a kid in a green/yellow shirt manipulating a red soul, pulling out a knife, having red eyes and grinning evilly cause like... i feel like deltarune definitely incorporates the memory of undertale throughout? like its advertised as a game for people who finished undertale and theres lots of references and things that are only as impactful if you had an emotional connection to the original game, like spamton neo and gaster saying "have you been looking for me?" and just.. so many things but most interestingly imo being that ralsei almost comes across like a fanonized "cinnamon roll" version of asriel that was so popular way back when? ofc he's more than that but thats like. a Part of him anyways what i mean is like, when chapter 1 released many people (myself included) saw that and instantly assumed that kris was being controlled by chara because of how strongly chara-esque (*especially* to the fandom, like ralsei) the imagery was, only for chapter 2 to come out and many people (myself included^2) completely disregarded chara as having any bearing on the story whatsoever and that kris is just themself trying *not* to be controlled by us. i think we can all agree that the latter is correct, and some people were clearly smarter than me in chapter 1 and deduced the truth even then (e.g. lynxgriffin in their comics), but i am left wondering what the point of that was almost? i thought you might have some interesting thoughts on that, cause like, if kris's frustration with the player is essentially the main plot of the game (give or take), the allusion to chara was a little bit 'distracting' for the fandom i feel like? some ppl are (somehow) still confused & blaming chara even! i guess im just wondering, what if kris had wore a different shirt and menaced the player in a different way at the end of chapter 1? do you think it would have improved the story to eliminate the possibility of confusion, or do u reckon toby fox want us confused? idk LMAO just thinking aloud atp. just been on my mind the past few days bc in retrospect, while the intro to deltarune is obviously trying to trick you into believing this is "undertale 2", post-dark-world the game is unambiguously super different, to the point where it feels a little bizarre that there'd be a red herring *after* deltarune already smashed the notion that it's a prequel or sequel into pieces doesnt it?
i think it's most legible to me as an attempt by Kris to psych us out that they sort of get lucky with thanks to toby helping them!
like, obviously they have no way to know you've been menaced by nonbinary children before - the specific parallels aren't a thing they're reaching for. but they're trying to get the player freaked out, and toby sort of lends them a helping hand by making them coincidentally charalike.
it's not the first time he's had a character freak us out with knowledge they don't have (thinking about sans and the talking flower in grillbys), and it's not the first time in Deltarune alone where a parallel is arguably sheer coincidence in world but happens to echo something to the player. i don't think it's like cheap or anything - toby fox does a really good job building up a language of associations and connections and motifs and then sometimes uses that to trick you just the tiniest bit lmao
but just like Chara, the ways to see thru the trick are there if you're looking. if you pay attention to Chara, you learn their oh so ominous faces and scares were originally just a thing they did to have fun with their brother, and maybe you get an appreciation that they were a child trying to scare you in childish ways. similarly, if you talk to everyone in town, you learn that Kris is a prankster by nature who delights in freaking everyone out (and also someone who would eat an entire midnight pie), and maybe you get the chance to go "oh, they're pranking me, huh?"
a little like Chara, Deltarune ch1 uses Kris to ask if you've been paying attention to the material. did you notice this really, really wasn't Undertale? and if you did, what conclusion do you reach about this new kid?
#this isnt to like call you out for Not noticing#god knows i also went chara????#and also w chara i had to be educated on narrachara and such#just i think toby has a tendency to ask us to Work towards understanding the human characters#using the lessons of the game itself#alao lynxgriffin was not the first to figure out kris was possessed.

was thinking last night about the direction the fnaf story is going and I was thinking about vanny cassie. like vanny cassie would be such a perfect villain because it brings vanny back to the spotlight and cassie has a connection to Gregory as a friend.
her arc would be so tragic in every way and she wouldnt know what or who to believe. she would believe she was abandoned by Gregory again (in this case he didnt cut the elevator) like all her friends and her dad did and that vanny is a friend. both manipulation and supernatural mind control stuff like glitchtrap did to vanessa to create vanny.
and 3 stars could be the protags in a post hw2 dlc game that's big and free roam story like sb. I think Gregory would be a better choice as player because he would have the best reason to chase after cassie; shes his friend. vanessa would be very important also because like. Vannys back. and now she has a family and another kid shes gonna fight like hell for.
"the family missed the greatest opportunity of their lives" vanessa didnt destroy vanny glitchtrap and mimic when she should have, and now they're back. and she isnt gonna run away scared this time. shell finally end them for good
and also Vannys motivation. since vanny killed glitchtrap (probably to take his place as big bad bunny virus) this makes you wonder why shes doing this. we dont know why glitchtrap did it either so I guess the same reason as him. shes supposed to be reluctant tho so? idk what's changed. but we'll go with building the monarchy evil pyramid back up
so vanny would be trying to get all of the followers back, or maybe shes still following mimics orders and it wants them back. could have a potential rebellion plot from vanny at the end but that's besides my point
the point is itd be such a fun spot to reveal ggy. Vanessa's been hiding it from Gregory to protect him, maybe freddy too, and Gregory has no idea and just knows he has tons of memory loss. hes moved past it to live his new life, but after doing all this to get Cassie back, it turns out vanny wants all the followers back and hey, why is she talking about 2?? who is dr rabbit?? why is she after me??
I just think theres a lot of potential in a plot like that for all characters. Vanessa's arc as vanny is already so interesting but cassie has an obviously very similar arc becoming vanny but also so different. she would be manipulated while shes alone hurting and believing she was betrayed with abandonment issues and taken advantage of. vanny would be using her as a vessel, so theyd have to get her out of cassie to kill her for good.
and if Gregory had to find out about ggy at this point, itd be a big deal but also truly make that connection between cassie and Gregory. no matter who cut the elevator Gregory would feel at fault because he either did it or wasnt fast enough to stop cassie before it happened. so he would have to confront condemning cassie to the same fate his family and now apparently HE went through and that's his best friend man. and also not to mention the concpet of vanessa and cassie of course

I finally have better words for this but uhhh the general response I've seen towards calypso from the fandom (especially on tiktok, less so on tumblr, but I can't be assed to make a video on tiktok) has been icky imo. Everyone jumping on the 'she raped him' bandwagon because that's what happens in the original story that Jorge took inspo from, leaves a bad taste in my mouth since, especially compared to Antinous in legendary and other upcoming songs from him, there's basically no implication of that in Love In Paradise (I love epic but yall it is not subtle). Like, idk, the story has already been changed so much - why is that the thing people are latching on to that they're insisting is the same? It's! Feeling! Racial! And! Sexist! It's feeling really weird the black female antagonist is being hated on way more compared to the literal wannabe rapist!
Like I get it, I get that people do this. I get why people want to headcanon this as what's happening but it feels really gross and I'm not trying to hate on anyone who decided to interpret it this way but I hope people who have, examen that a little bit. Especially if they don't bring the same energy to Antinous (again, mostly on tiktok there, as far as I've seen on tumblr people think he's a creep as they should)
Idk maybe I've just been on tumblr and in fandom spaces for so fucking long I'm sensitive when it feels like fans are holding a different standard for black women in media. Cuz I've seen it over and over again. And like, I'm white, i obviously can't say for certain that's what's happening here. But the vibe!! Is there!! IMO!!
And to be clear I don't think calypso is a good person or innocent. She keeps Ody trapped there, she obviously doesn't want to hear the man has a wife, she probably? Cant accept that he doesn't love her. But I think she's a more complicated antagonist than some of the fandom seems to want to think she is. Theres three beings on that island, calypso, ody, and the insane amount of guilt and grief ody is carrying. That alone is enough to drive him to the edge, and people wanting to instead point the finger solely at calypso gives me an ick.
Edit: additionally, Your interpretation is your interpretation I'm not here to change it or even try and argue just because imo love in paradise doesn't make it seem like she assaults him, just keeps him trapped and I'm sticking to my interpretation. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, whatever, we'll find out. That's not really the point of what I'm saying.
Edit 2: I'm also a Eury defender till I fucking die yall are TOO MEAN TO MY MAN and I KNOW WHY.
#ocelot talks#epic the musical#love in paradise#i have some headcanons and ideas for what went down on that island#they range from goofy to heartbreaking

So I've been thinking about the Milgram remix
youtube
And the first time I watched it I noticed that theres 4 times where they do this weird remix-ey noise that I can't explain in words. They do it during the pauses between lyrics.
Putting this under the cut :)
Two of the times, it sounds really similar. From 0:12 - 0:22 during Undercover, right after part of the chorus and before the actual start of the song (I'll call this one #1). And from 9:25 - 9:41, during Bring It On right after the intro/prechorus thing (which I'll call #4).
It happens again in Undercover from 0:33 - 0:42, after the "FUTURE" line (#2). And then once more from 1:33 - 1:42, during Harrow right after the intro chorus (#3). Which timestamping made me realize is exactly a minute after #2, and is the same length.
Before I start, why does this matter?
Well, artistically, it doesn't make sense to have it three times in the first 2 minutes, then only once after that. They had more opportunities to use it too. After the intro chorus in half, there's a pause they just leave as is (notably the only pause like that in the remix, aside from when it transitions). And in TIHTBILWY, the pause after her intro chorus is edited out. If anything, it'd make sense to edit out the pause during Bring It On, because it's significantly longer than the rest. But they didn't. And I think that's intentional.
So let's start with #1 and #4. Undercover and Bring It On. Es and Fuuta. They're both the same, as Fuuta says in his t2 voice drama. But more specifically, we the audience are like Fuuta, judging people from behind a screen, deciding their fates and enjoying it. "Shouldn't you look beyond your ego, before it all ends?" It was Fuuta's ego that drove him, something he couldn't look past until it was all over and his sin had been committed. I don't think I need to yap about those parallels more, so lets continue.
Next we have #3, which is clearly different from the rest. It's Kotoko's vocals, not the voice(?) we hear in the other ones. Showing how innately, she is not like Es / us. She's trying to be, as we can see very well in Deep Cover, but all she's doing is innaccurately emulating Es.
But what does her repetitive vocals sound like, then? This one may be a stretch, but listen to the transition between Fuuta and Amane from 10:52 - 11:10. That's the only other time vocals are looped. "Now let's be reasonable."
Obviously, Fuuta and Kotoko acknowledge their similarities and differences, which also tie into their parallels with Es. As for the line itself, it sounds like something Fuuta would be saying to Kotoko, in response to her "harrowing." But what does Amane have to do with it? Well, small tangent for a second but in Kotoko's part, she's repeating the chorus of her song (i think). Which obviously represents her goals. What if the repetition in vocals represents repeating your ideologies to yourself, in particular, the ones that mirror those of someone else?
And this is pure speculation but maybe, in the same way that Kotoko is doing with Es, this represents Fuuta wanting to emulate Amane. She could be his definition of reasonable, and the line he's repeating could be directed towards himself. He sees her as more put together than he is, asking why she can bare the voices and he can't. These two instances of vocals being looped aren't particularly similar, because Kotoko and Fuuta are striving to emulate different people, but they're still doing the same thing. And they're the only ones doing it, hence why its the only time it happens in the remix.
Another detail I noticed is Haruka, Yuno, Muu and Amane are the only ones whose songs start at the beginning, but then cut out a chunk of the middle after the first chorus and play the bridge next. They're also the only ones who aren't really involved in what happened with Kotoko in t2.
There could also be something said about what I mentioned earlier with half and TIHTBILWY, if we're saying that the editing in the songs symbolizes their roles in Kotoko's attack. But idk what so I'll leave it at that.
#this took me hours to make#it probably also means nothing and im overthinking it but shhh#milgram#es milgram#fuuta kajiyama#kotoko yuzuriha#amane momose#milgram project#milgram analysis#milgram remix#milgram theory#milgram trial 1#milgram thoughts#milgram es#Youtube

i need to talk about this fig headcanon of mine and i cant edit the fic im writing about for like two days so
hear me out. fig knows several very traditional elven dances
i see elven couple dances as ballroom style dances, like a waltz or a slow dance, just endlessly more complicated. obviously theres still the dance style fabian does, which is either a singular person dance or multiple people dancing at the same time but separately, but i think fig knows specifically two person dances and is pretty good at them
so fig in freshman year is all. oh no, prom is coming up? but i cant dance?? and obviously logically nobody will be any good but shes still stressed about it so gilear teaches her one of the simplest elven dances he knows (incredibly complicated but at least hes a good teacher)
and obviously fig cant use that knowledge at prom because *dragon*, but i do think she learns more just from dancing with gilear all the time because she thinks its fun, and i also think adaine knows the same dances so they 100% will dance together
i dont see kristen or gorgug as being able to really do them(on account of either low dex or just the dances inherently not being made for a half-orc body type), and i dont think riz would want to either, but i think adaine does know them and has fun doing them with fig
fabian and fig dont dance until sophomore year spring break passes because he did *know* the dances, from being made to take classes, but he and fig both absolutely refused to be the following role until after spring break
but once fabian is willing to let fig lead (toxic masculinity is dead after all) they also dance! they have lots of fun i think
anyways thats my fig dancing headcanon, i just love the idea of her being taught by gilear and then using it as a way to stay connected to her elven roots. she is still half elf, after all, and so are 2/4 of her parents !
Fabian starts taking his bard classes in junior year and he is crushing it. They're learning all sorts of dances from all over Spyre, including elven ballroom dances, so he has the music in his playlists so he can practice at home. He needs to get both roles of this dance memorised as part of a graded assignment so he organises a study/hang-out session with his friends while he works on it solo.
Its not quite the same as practising with a partner and its complicated so he keeps messing up and tries to goad some of his friends into helping.
Riz is the first person he asks, the goblin is already there before everyone else because he's burning himself out trying to help everyone study while also doing his own homework, but he categorically refuses to dance and argues the height difference would make it weird. It's an elven dance, elves tend to be over 3 feet tall. He has memorised the steps though and helps Fabian with his footwork from the sidelines whenever he catches him messing up, even if he refuses to do the dance properly. Fabian, for a moment, thinks of getting Ayda or Adaine to cast enlarge on the goblin so they'd be the same height for a while but immediatly stomps on that idea because no, it would be weird if Riz was tall. Better to ask one of his other friends instead.
Gorgug offers to help when he arrives for their hangout session but he's not good at dancing at all. He's strong, and he's an athlete, but he has two left feet and his movements are too slow to keep up with the fast-paced footwork. He ends up stepping on Fabians feet so many times that they decide its better not to practice together otherwise they're GOING to have to get Kristen or Fig to heal the half-elf when they arrive. Gorgug takes over manning the music, restarting or rewinding it whenever Fabian asks him to, so that Riz can go back to doing his homework without having to break his concentration every three seconds.
Kristen arrives next, plopping herself down on the ground next to Riz and his impressive spread of papers and notebooks and settles in to watch. Fabian does not ask her to dance with him and she doesnt offer, they both know that if she tries someone WILL break something. Her dexterity score is bad enough that she'd probably even manage to injure either Gorgug or Riz in the crossfire and there are a lot of mirrors to break in Fabians studio. She is pretty strict about making sure Fabian stops every ten minutes or so to drink some water and even forces him to take a proper break and have a snack when he starts looking a bit woozy from low blood-sugar.
By the time Fabian is feeling better Adaine has arrived, the elf plopping down with Riz and pulling out her own homework to get his help with something. Adaine watching Fabian from the sidelines for a few minutes while Riz reads over her notes before mentioning that she knows this dance. Her homework immediatly gets abandoned as Fabian drags her to her feet and gets her to go through the dance a few times with him before she has to stop from exhaustion. She does not have the same level of stamina as their fighter who can literally dance for an entire day before getting tired. Fabian is grateful for the help though because now he has at least got the lead roll memorised. He still has to perfect the following role before his next class but Adaine cant help with that, her parents only ever let her learn the following role so she wouldnt be able to help him as lead.
Fig is, predictably, fashionably late to their hang-out/study session. She doesnt go to any of her bard classes so there's no homework there, and Porters barbarian classes don't really assign homework so she doesnt have any book-work to do so it doesnt matter. Fabian doesnt have to ask her to help him with his footwork, because the instant she clocks what he's working on she dumps her bags and jacket and sweeps in to wheel him around the room as the lead in their dance. She has been waiting for an oportunity to show this off and she takes to it with gusto. She is a bard afterall, and even if her speciality isnt dancing her performance is immaculate due to all of her practice with Gilear.
Fabian, of course, gets an A+.

The 118 Sauce Chat
Eddie: I definitely make spaghetti sauce extremely wrong but I’m not going to stop
Chim: please elaborate on the wrong way to make spaghetti sauce; it sounds highly entertaining?
Eddie: 1 chop onion and put in a pot
Eddie: Add 1 or 2 cans of diced tomatoes. Whatever makes the ratio of onion look right.
Eddie: Add a ridiculous amount of frozen peas. Peas should make up a notable portion of this sauce.
Eddie: Add frozen corn also if you wanna be real fancy. If I have bacon I’ll ad that too. But I very rarely have bacon.
Eddie: Cook on HIGH
Eddie: While sauce is cooking, grab the nearest bottle of mixed spices that isn't obviously for desserts. Add some. How much? I dunno, enough that you feel like you've added seasoning so it's technically cooking. (For me this is most often a mix called Moroccan, but it could be anything. Buck reorganised my kitchen recently so tonight it was something called Pizza Topping.)
Eddie: If you happen to have green herbs lying around, add those too. Whatever you have on hand that's green
Eddie: Let the sauce boil on HIGH until all the water is gone. Stir occasionally so the saucepan will be easier to clean later. Serve on cooked spaghetti noodles with no cheese
Eddie: Today I added a new step called "while the sauce is cooking, duck out for 15 seconds to text the group chat about spaghetti sauce, then get distracted and forget you are cooking." This adds a novel Extremely Burnt edge to the flavour profile.
Chim: I am not Italian, or of Italian descent by *any* stretch of the imagination.
I am also not one of those "cooking purists", who believes that everything must be done in a specific/ traditional way (unless you are making a cooking video with the title "how to make x" in which case if you don't specify mid video that your way is not traditional god help you).
I am a firm believer in "If it tastes good, then it is correct for you".
Chim: Except in this case
Bobby: This hurts every cooking bone in my body. The latent ancestors in my soul. The judgmental elf in my brain just bit a cyanide capsule
Hen: Why? The spices.
Using a different spice mix every time, based on what is ready at hand just ... hurts
Eddie: *sends SPICE IS SPICE meme*
Ravi: absolutely deranged, Eddie. Food crimes.
Bobby: Hey Eddie, looks like you forgot to mention the part where you obviously sweated the onions, because nobody would make spaghetti sauce that had straight up raw onions boiled in tomato juices.
Bobby: RIGHT????
Bobby: Please Eddie
Eddie: I don’t know what sweating the onions means
Hen: It means. It means you cook em a little in a pan with a bit of oil first
Eddie: A pan? How many dishes do you want me to have to wash here?
Hen: I mean you can also do it in the same pot you're making the spaghetti sauce in! The important thing is the onions get a little cooked before the wet stuff goes in, so they're not so wet and limp and boiled....
Eddie: Honestly this depends entirely on whether I remember to chop an onion first or I find the can opener for the tomatoes first. The ingredients go in in whatever order they go in.
Ravi: Eddie, who hurt you???
Eddie: A pack of wild chefs herded my mother off a cliff
Chim: Theres probably a hit out on you for this
Eddie: What kind of stupid idiot would waste money assassinating someone who's so clearly going to accidentally poison themself for free at some point
Bobby: hi Eddie, big fan of your firefighting, this is the sauce equivalent of the running up a metal ladder in a lightning storm to try to pull up a 6’0” tall man instead of lowering him to the ground
-Athena
Eddie: Athena, that is the meanest review my cooking has ever received
Chim: congratulations you found the worst way to do it! this feels like a spaghetti recipe made by AI before it got really sophisticated
-Maddie
Eddie: this group chat’s hate mail game is insane
Ravi: at this point please just eat every ingredient raw… please
Eddie: Do I look like Tony Abbott to you
Buck: As a former Committer of Food Crimes, I have decided to make this sauce this weekend after I have a chance to go to the store. I will report back.
Eddie: Excellent, I look forward to vindication.
Hen: No one's going to vindicate your boiled onion in cinnamonny tomato juice on noodles, Eddie
Eddie: Not cinnamon. Cinnamon is a dessert spice. You use the nearest non-dessert spice.
Ravi: cinnamon is absolutely not a dessert spice
Eddie: Yes it is! It's for muffins and pancakes and fruit pies!
Chim: Cinnamon powder is absolutely a dessert “spice” and Eddie if your cooking is this bad I can’t imagine your baked abominations
Eddie: I put lemon juice in everything I bake that isn't bread
Written for the only two gremlins (endearment) who find this as entertaining as I do @professionalprocrastinator22 and @gravelyhalversobbing

I need to yap about Prototype, specifically Alex's change in Prototype 2:
Obviously, heavy prototype 2 spoilers:
What the fuck happened, man?!?!? In the first game, sure, the dude is willing to kill on sight. There's a civilian death counter. The scene after the Greene boss fight? That was so good. He didn't care, just slammed her ass. Anyways: despite all this, he sounds remorseful and dealing with some tangled up shit, yk? There's a line in the helicopter mission where he shouts "Damn you! Damn you for making me do this!" Like, hello? This virus in the shape of some dude can and does feel remorse and turmoil! He hijacked a helicopter to make sure the city didn't explode, and nearly died in the process.
But then comes Prototype 2:
And suddenly Alex is all about infecting everyone and their mother, spreading his virus, and has Blackwatch in his pocket through his Evolved. No remorse, no care for anyone anymore. Isn't there supposed to be like a 2 year difference between the first outbreak and Prototype 2?? Did he just lose his marbles in that time? Did the nuke scramble his brain a bit? Like, what happened??
I get that Alex is a mass murdering, people eating, viral biomass with Mercer's face, but I keep thinking back to the helicopter mission in the first game. His VA sounds like his whole body was put into that line, and it takes place even after he finds out the truth of everything (except Cross, for the time being).
Heller and him have a very similar "kill on sight" rage that I think makes the games fun, and comparing the two between games, theres so many parallels. It's just odd how Mercer has this 180 behavior.
Tbh, I don't mind prototype 2. Without it, we wouldn't have a boss fight with Heller calling Mercer an "emo fuck" and "bitch" like five times. I totally did not get my shit rocked the first time I tried that fight and kept thinking "James shut your mouth I'm getting bodied here". But all in all, it was fun. I think it would be more fun to explore their relationship considering Heller was military and trusted Blackwatch so deeply. Mercer (before Blacklight) knew shit was going down, and then Blacklight/Alex is immediately hunted by Blackwatch and literally eats his way through the ranks. They could've had so much potential for distrust and betrayal on a deeper level than just "muhahaha! Infect the town!", you know?
And another smaller thing:
In prototype one, there's a thing about how Alex isn't Mercer anymore. He has his face, but he's actually just the virus, and Mercer has been dead a while. They're two separate but not people. See the whole thing about "I'm not human, I never was". But in prototype 2, James doesn't have that same thing happen. The whole time, every one of the Evolved seem to be infected people, not people that the virus is wearing as a face, and that's an important distinction. Maybe not so important when you're slaughtering Evolved, but in the scenes with Heller and Maya? That's pretty fucking important. Maya is scared of him at first, and I don't think we're given enough of Heller's thoughts during that. Yeah, he looks distraught in that scene, but imagine how much more so it would've been if they re-explored the whole "not human virus wearing a face" thing some more, especially in relation to his kid.
And sure; maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe even Heller's internal thoughts would've been "who cares" as long as he has the memories of Heller and took off right where he left off, but I still would've really liked to see that come up again.

volume 2 final post
gotta love a teenager having a strip torn off them in public by an adult. Look at her face... Surely there was another way to say this ☠️
Glad it's making you smile, Yoshimura.
What I find markedly different between Mado and other investigators is how cold he is. Where others' say disparaging things to the ghouls they're encountering, they say it with such passion it's almost as if they're trying to convince themselves that what they're doing is 100% justified. With some, it seems like there is wiggle-room for some form of dialogue between them and the ghoul, and that theres' a small possibility that a ghoul *may* be able to say something that makes an impact. No chance with Mado, that (almost) complete lack of emotion is chilling. He is absolutely set on what he is there to do.
he isn't even trying to get a rise, he is asking her a genuine question lol
Having others' be concerned for her is such an unfamiliar feeling, Touka's automatic reaction is hostility. Relatable.
Anyone else notice that a lot of issues in tg could be resolved through fucking conversation? I'm confident that if Yoshimura or Yomo (🙄) TALKED to Touka, it would make a big difference. She wouldn't have to react the way she does, feel like she can't rely on anyone, or that it doesn't matter what she does because either way she'll be someway responsible. The girl needs help rewiring her instincts into "think first-speak to someone-think some more - then MAYBE act" instead of them telling her "don't do that Touka *brief reason why*" and "oh look you're hurt well if you die 🤷♀️lol". How on earth is she supposed to trust people when they treat her like that?
isnt this saitamas' work out? Kaneki obviously doesn't follow it as he doesn't go bald
Yeeeah bully the shit outta Nishiki 👌
