Thinking about Eric having to forcefully put that wrench in himself. Burn that bridge with his own too hands because Eric likes self preservation but he isn't good at it. And just. A good ol hurt, confused, and quite frankly angry Michael. But she wouldn't fight it, not that much, because she isn't really that stubborn, and I think that acceptance would hurt eric more✨️

the real vision when having a ship where one character has a canon relationship is to make that ship doomed. a car that never managed to really start. yeah we're talking about failed ericmichael. some right person wrong time/place sort of shit. eric who pulls away bc he can see emma pulling shit from a mile away and even though he says he doesnt consider himself a coward, he is a bit of one (he doesnt get what shes playing at but shes playing at something and he wants no part). and then bro moves on (for the most part). and then obviously mary happens and his ass gets murdered and michael gets murdered-sorta and at least in death they share that link. being disposable

so funny to me that the only time i can fully identify myself being happy is when im looking at horse pictures and my michael. got emotional blur for the most part but in those instances i can point and be like "THATS joy."

i think eric wouldnt even be bad at art, i think all the art classes he and gerry take together as a cute father-child thing rlly helped. i just dont think eric is all that into painting n stuff like that, theres just a stack of honestly very pretty paintings somewhere in one of their closets because it was more important to hang up everything gerry made, even if it was child art(tm) and looked like Nothing in particular he just wanted to be able to draw with his son and be able to at least help out a little with his learning. i imagine he'd be more into writing or something like that as a creative endeavor, and puzzles- which arent a creative endeavor perse but its that same action of Doing Something and getting something pretty afterwards. i think eric would enjoy doing large puzzles that take hours. In silence- or some someone else, but never with like, TV or music. he needs to concentrate. this would also be what he did with michael on their fourth date or something. 10 hours of putting together a massive puzzle, cant do better than that.

in a better, kinder world, a tiny gerry would notice all the doodles his dad draws on notes and shit, just shitty little cats and stuff, very newspaper-cartoon esc, and insist on learning how to do that. and eric, realizing he doesnt know shit about drawing, would then dedicate himself to figuring it out because Eric is still a very Eye-Aligned person and where theres a gap in knowledge he's gonna fill it. him and wee little gerry will be taking art classes. Eric's art usually just gets put to the side somewhere but gerry's elegant blob-tree painting WILL be hung on the wall for the next several decades
