I'm Not Her Pt.5 (Father Miguel O’Hara x Teen! Daughter Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Miguel O’Hara is your biological father but it’s not great being his daughter when he’s hooked in the past still.
Disclaimer: I do not own Marvel or any of its characters. This short One-Shot has made it into a series! Read part one, two, three and four please to understand the prompt better. (Linked Below) This chapter is full on Miguel's POV.
Word Count: 300 words
Warnings: Use of female pronouns, Use of (Y/N), angst, Father Miguel, overall, it’s just sad for now. Other dimensional Miguel…mention of blood, stabbing, knife, cursing, maybe consider yandere behavior from other dimensional Miguel and Miguel's POV/version of the story??...Uhhh I think that is all for now.
I know it's short, very short but It's better than not being able to read another chapter for a long time.
Pt.1 Pt.2 Pt.3 Pt.4 Pt.5 Pt.6
Miguel's Version?? POV-ish? (I know there is term, but my head is fried from college classes) Also Scenes with Jess and Peter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pain, that was all he felt when his eyes open. He looked around his surroundings noticing he was on a pile of trash bags. Letting out a grunt, Miguel looks down at his abdomen seeing the bleeding, "Lyla?" He calls out before looking at his arm, his watch missing " Puta Madre" He whispers and looks around before getting out of the dumpster. He leans up against the wall and recollects his thoughts out loud. "Okay, Other me too my life...stabbed me with the intentions of killing me...shut Lyla off...(Y/N) ...(Y/N)!" He finally took note of his daughter's life, you were in danger seeing the crazy look on that other dimensional self. "No no no..." He repeats before swinging up to the roof top to avoid being spotted. Reaching the rooftop, he punches the wall, " What to do Miguel!" He yells at himself feeling lost. He slowly slides down the wall and puts his hand over his wound, his healing function slowly working on the wound, but it still hurts. Many emotions were running through his mind, hurt, anger and mostly, disappointment. He was disappointed in himself for every leaving someone who was his flesh and blood. What went wrong? He thinks back to the time where he left his dimension to be with Gabriella, the day of your birthday. He knew it was wrong but, something pulled him to that dimension before destroying it. He looks at his hands where Gabriella was taken from him. Slowly, the image of her was replaced with you. "No!" He gets up determined, he wasn't going to lose you next.
Miguel walked down the streets of this earth he was stuck in, after knocking a drunken man who was harassing a young lady. Which he was gifted a 50 dollar from the young woman for helping her. He used it to buy clothing to fit in and draw less attention. He was on edge in case this earth had another Miguel which he would happily keep his distance after experiencing the variant who dumped him here. He stops at the Alchemax building and walks past a couple of workers who were busy chatting, taking the opportunity to sneak his hand in their lab coat pocket, taking their ID card. He walks through the thick doors, sliding the card accessing him to the lab. Taking the nearest empty Lab, he got to work on making a prototype watch to take him home. He doesn't care if it was going to take weeks, he will get his life back but most importantly, get you back before he loses you for good.
Back at the Spider Society, Peter walked down the hall into Miguel's office with Jess. " Empty...this is the second day he hasn't shown and not responding our text?" Peter looks around the office, for any clues where his boss might be. Jess walks over " You know what's stranger...no Lyla or (Y/N) either..." The woman stands next to him looking at the monitors trying to find Miguel's location without his approval before smiling " Ah, it shows he's back home with (Y/N), maybe he took your advice Peter." He looks at the location, your dot and "Miguels" together. " Miguel? Taking my advice? I doubt it but hey miracles happen sometimes" Peter shrugs before looking at the dots " Maybe he finally took note and appreciate what he has now and not what he lost in the past?" The tired man smiles softly, " I can't wait to tease him for taking my so-called terrible advice, I'm a great mentor after all!" He grins before seeing warning signs on the computer. " Hey Jess...what's with that?" He backs away from the computer quickly " I swear I did not touch a button!" Jess quickly types away, " Seems trying to hack us? No... trying to reprogram..." She goes to stop whatever is going on before Lyla's voice can be heard. " N-no Stop!" Her voice glitches out. The woman pulls her hands away from the computer. Lyla was finally rebooted and appears in front of them. " We have a big emergency!" Both adults look at each other before nodding looking back at Lyla, " Tell us what to do."
Miguel growls breaking the 5th watch as it failed. " Maldita Sea! " He pulls on his hair in frustration, he grips the table quickly as he glitches, time was wasting for him. For your life and his. He walks over to the bench to grab more materials before looking back seeing a portal open. " For once, I am happy to see you." Miguel mutters seeing Peter stand there smiling " Need help buddy? As a dad myself, let's go save your kid."

You have sooooo many files 😱
What's Confirmation of the Inevitable?
Lol that's just my laptop, there's notes in my notebooks too (and even on copy pages meant for lab report calculations!).
Anyway, Confirmation of the Inevitable is the part where Desemir finds out just who exactly has his daughter (because she disappeared the day he left for 'work purposes' at the start of the Summer Solstice celebrations).
It's a half-baked piece that walked so Divine Ransom could run. (the key difference is that in Divine Ransom, it was mentioned that he approached two people before getting the right answer instead of three, for brevity purposes [it was a Flash Fiction Friday piece, so the limit was 1,000 words]). Originally, he approached three people but one was still asleep, because he showed up in the mid afternoon when quite a lot of people in this place weren't awake yet!
Some details were developed for the Flash Friday version that weren't in this piece, while this piece has a bit that didn't make it into the other version.
Without further ado, here's what that file contains!
Desemir found himself at the mirror again. A mere day after he left. Each visit risked scandal, this one no different. He would risk scandal and ruin and the scalding rain of hubris, all for his family’s sake. His family name had been etched in nebulous doubt and worry. The neighbours started whispering, and before long, the country would too. His daughter had gone missing, and now for a time, so would he. — Customary to the seven days of Solstice, were seven visits to each of the High Councillors. The mirror he emerged from presented him in a room with seven more, each in arches bordered with the finest polished oak. Last time he was here, a partially scaled servant with webbed hands welcomed him and the other ministers. Now, stood no one. A circle of torches surrounded a small table, holding nothing other than a small book opened to a particular page. He looked at it, holding his tongue for fear it would invoke a spell. ‘If you must venture here, turn back now. What you seek can be found elsewhere. ‘If you must venture here, pick your poison. Mercy is the reward for turning back. ‘One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a wedding, four for a funeral, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told.’ Desemir contemplated it carefully. Seven arches for seven rhymes for seven Councillors. Which one would lead to his daughter? The right one would lead to his salvation, the wrong one would lead to embarrassment. He rummaged through the memories of the order in which he visited, and started with the arch with a phoenix engraved at the top. — “Bold of you to visit so soon.” Lady Faison appeared from behind, causing Desemir to jump in astonishment. How did she notice him so quickly? “Anything for a fine lady such as yourself.” “You flatter me greatly, High Minister.” She beckoned a servant over, taking a glass from a platter of what he suspected to be Seladian blood wines. “Care for a glass?” He shook his head. “I’ll decline your offer, I don’t wish to keep you long.” “What might your business be, then?”
Thank you for the ask <3

Survivor's Blood (Leon x Reader) - Chapter 7
Survivor’s Blood
Pairing: Leon x Reader
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 (you are here!)
Summary: After Raccoon City, Leon became the only Government agent with that kind of expertise. With relentless training, he was now a Special Agent - again, on his first day in the job. He just didn’t expect to live Raccoon City all over again… Maybe Leon was fated to always have the worst first-days-at-work ever.
Age Restriction: 18+. It’s horror, so expect a lot of graphic violence and blood dripping from this. I mean, VERY GRAPHICAL VIOLENCE. Nothing we haven’t seen on RE, but still. Yee been warned
TRIGGER WARNING: This whole fanfic is a trigger warning really
Author's Notes: Heeeeey, I know this is exactly what no one wanted, but it's what I've got. It's been sitting in my files for a while 'cause I wanted to have a couple of new chapters ready to post, but oh well. Blame this update on my mom - who got me explaining the whole history of Resident Evil and why it's so important to gaming along with its lore and she was "wow, that's basically the 2020 pandemic" and I was "exactly, now you get it". And she also kinda loves Chris for becoming boulder-punching-Chris and just suplexing Wesker out of existence. He's 10/10 her fave RE character so far.

Chapter 7
New Setosa State School, April 29th, 2001 – 22h31
“You’re late, Kennedy.”
It was the first time you were meeting the other Agents in charge of rescuing the residents of New Setosa.
It was quite a walk from the hospital to the school, but something kept everyone moving. Maybe it was all the undead in the way, making everyone keep a steady pace and a quiet step. Maybe it was Leon checking his watch almost every two minutes. Or maybe, it was the adrenaline running in your bodies, screaming inside every soul that they had to do their best to survive.
You didn’t hear a single thing on your way there. The houses, apartments, offices, stores… All quiet – except for the creatures groaning every now and then, noticing your group and trying to follow; too slow to be any kind of threat.
There was only one incident – and an incident that was expected by all of you, if you had to be honest to yourselves. In times of survival, the best side of humanity did show… But so did the worst.
You were quickly, and quietly, walking in the middle of the street – as per Leon orders: sidewalks were too close to establishments that could harbor undead creatures, silently waiting for a surprise attack. You still had the lead and he still preferred to remain on the back, since his odds of survival if he was grabbed by behind were a lot bigger than anyone else in the group.
The elderly lady was doing very well – being helped by Valerie, she could walk fast enough to keep up the pace – but the kid with the father were having a little trouble. The boy seemed to be weak, almost too tired to keep going, but his father was almost carrying him – and would carry his son if he needed to. The lab coat man kept fidgeting, sighing audibly every time you gave the group a couple of seconds to breathe – making him receive stern looks from Leon, who was more of a bleeding heart than you were.
It all happened too quick. The lab coat man, for some reason, insisted on being around the father and son and very close to you. There were a few cars up ahead, but neither of you thought it would be trouble: most cars were destroyed and their owners dead inside of them or roaming outside, undead.
You had no idea where the creature came from: in a split second, what once was a police officer jumped on the lab coat man, fiercely trying to bite his face off.
“Stay back!” You screamed to the other survivors, grabbing one of the creature’s arms and trying to fight it. Those things were strong – and, in all honesty, lab coat man wasn’t the best suited to fight one of them.
Valerie held the elderly woman and signaled the father and the kid to join them. Leon immediately ran towards all of you – but as soon as you managed to take a little weight off the lab coat man, he had the strength to handle the creature by himself.
“Take the ones who are already dying, you fucking shit!” The man threw the undead right into the teen, who was too weak to fight for himself. You gasped, trying to hold it back – but it seemed to slip right between your fingers.
Before the creature could bite the kid into pieces, Leon came through like a bulldozer – punching it right on the face, making it groan and stumble behind, as the teen fell on the floor and tried to crawl back to his father. The man immediately grabbed his son, protecting him with his own body, as Leon took a hunting knife from his holster and buried it under the creature’s chin – impaling its head, making it finally stop.
But the danger wasn’t over: another creature crept to the lab coat man, grabbing his foot and using him as a ladder to stand up and eat him alive.
“You… Damn! Leave me alone! Eat them!” The man struggled a little but was able to throw the creature in your direction – his intention of being around you and the invalid teen quite clear: if anything happened, he would rather have you dead than him.
The creature didn’t have time to reach you, because Leon’s kick on its chest reached it first. With a couple of dodges and some expertly placed knife attacks, he finally placed the killing blow by nailing the knife on its temples, right through its brain.
You couldn’t help but to stare wide eyed as Leon discarded the undead on the floor – who was once a living, breathing person, like you and him – and furiously walked towards the lab coat man. Gripping him by the sweaty shirt, Leon stamped the guy on the side of a destroyed, burning car – which was definitely too hot to the touch, and you could see it on the guy’s face as he winced the more Leon pushed him into the hot metal. Still holding the man’s shirt, Leon had his forearm across his chest, knife on standby in his other hand.
You definitely did not expect that from Leon… But it was a welcome thing, given the circumstances.
“What you think you’re doing, huh? You think you’re better than any of them? That your life is worth more?” Leon’s voice was low and his eyes were filled with something you still hadn’t seen that night – perhaps, that was the man who survived Raccoon City. Who became a Special Agent. “I don’t give a fuck how important you think you are or what your name is. We’re in this shit together, and we only gettin’ out if everyone sticks together. Everyone.” With those words, Leon made the man look right into his eyes – even if the guy couldn’t hold the stare longer than a couple of seconds. “Pieces of shit like you are always the first ones to go. I’m gonna make my best to make sure your sorry ass gets out of here, but if you keep acting like this, something is gonna make sure you won’t. I fucking seen that before.”
You kept quiet, side eyeing Leon as soon as he let the guy go and looked back at you – suddenly, his stare softened again and he sighed, rolling his eyes as if saying it was part of the job.
“Oh, I’m glad you put him in his place. Someone had to do that already.” You murmured back to him, making Leon scoff a slight, humorless laugh.
“You kinda already did back in the hospital.” Placing his knife back in the holster, Leon looked back at you. “If you need anything, call. I’ll be…”
“In the back, I know. Don’t worry.” You winked back, slightly waving your gun. “I can take care of things over here.”
That was the only serious incident. After that, father and son walked close behind you, followed by Valerie and the elderly lady and, on the back, the guy in the lab coat moping around, too scared to look back at Leon carrying the shotgun and giving you – and everyone else – cover.
You were late to the rendezvous at the State School… But all things considered, it was quite the miracle everyone got there in one piece.
“I know. But everyone is alive.” Leon marched towards the stern looking man as soon as the group was safe inside the entrance hall of the school. A few other agents holding rifles and wearing Special Ops gear wandered around – as well as some survivors of all ages and backgrounds. “Like I said they would be. No casualties.”
Rogers lifted his heavy eyebrows as he watched you and the group being welcomed by the few police officers who were brave enough to leave the NSPD and account for all the survivors left in the city. The man still had his arms crossed, but he had to recognize: what Leon just did was quite a feat.
“What about the one who helped us with the broadcast? Were you able to find each other?”
“Yeah. Y/n, right over there.” Leon pointed at you – and, as soon as you heard your name and turned around, he signaled you to come over. After exchanging a few words with Valerie, you regrouped with him. “Y/n, this is Commander Rogers, the man in charge of today’s operation.”
“You set up the broadcast and met Leon halfway through this city swarming with those creatures, no gun in hand, right?” The man asked, shaking your hand with a rather strong grip. You reciprocated in the same manner. “You have to be quite the fighter to do that.”
“Well, we do what we need to survive, sir.” You smiled slightly, taking that as a compliment.
“That we do. We’re leaving at 22h40.” And Rogers looked back at Leon, crossing his arms once more. “We’re escorting the people back to the NSPD and we’ll wait for the extraction at midnight.”
“Copy that, sir. I’ll help with the escort.”
You couldn’t help but to let out a sigh of relief – that nightmare would soon be over and you couldn’t wait to be in a safe place again.
*
“Hey, banana ice cream.” You heard Leon’s voice by your side, making you smile a little bit. You were taking some time to breathe by yourself in a corner of the school – still close to the survivors – while he talked with Rogers and the other agents. But, of course, Leon would check on you before you left for the NSPD. “How are you doing?”
“Better than expected, I suppose.” You sighed back, giving him some space to lean on the table you were leaning in. It probably belonged to one of the employees in charge of supervising the kids – a place now quiet and somber, that you had no wish to go any further inside. It was probably filled with corpses. “And you? Everything ok?”
“Guess we gonna ask that forever to each other tonight, huh?” He had to tease you, since that question became a staple between you two. You couldn’t hold back a small laugh. “Yeah, I’m fine. I’ve had worse.”
“Hmmm, I can imagine…” You murmured, having no idea how to bring up what you saw in the hospital – speaking to Valerie, she expressed her concerns about Leon having a panic attack; and even if you hadn’t known him for too long, it was something you could understand – to a certain level. “I’ve seen some pretty bad things, being a war correspondent. I mean, it’s part of the job, seeing the worst mankind has to offer… But I never thought I’d see and live through something like this.”
“Yeah, it’s fairly different from a warzone…” Leon sighed back, crossing his arms. “Both are pretty bad actually.” He risked a look at you – watching how your gaze was lost on one of the windows, looking out in the dead, quiet night. It all seemed so peaceful from that point of view. “Why do you do it?”
“What?” You snapped out of your thoughts, turning your eyes back to Leon.
“Bein’ a reporter at war. Why do you do it?” He patiently repeated the question – talking to you was the most calming thing he had that night. And, if he had you to talk to in Raccoon City, it would’ve probably been a little less harrowing of an experience. A little. “You voluntarily go to places where there’s nothing but butchering and blood. You could be doin’ anything else but this, you’re smart enough. So why this?”
“Why do you do what you do?”
That question made Leon furrow his eyebrows immediately, turning quiet for a moment.
“It’s not like I had much of a choice after Raccoon.” He answered quietly, still with that look of concern in his eyes. “I was recruited to be a Special Agent. You can’t turn down something like that.”
It was your turn to become silent. You always thought everyone who followed careers like his did it voluntarily, but there was Leon saying he didn’t have much of a choice. Be it because of his trauma, of his own will or being forced by the government to say yes because he knew too much about the Umbrella incident, you believed in his words.
“Would you have done something too different if you had had a choice?”
Once again, Leon looked back at you with that concern in his eyes. It was probably a question he never really got asked before – and probably never thought of; or avoided thinking of. But now, he had no escape and had to think about it.
“I dunno… Probably would still be a cop.” Leon turned his eyes to his feet, letting out a deep sigh. “Always wanted to help people. Ended up having to save my own skin right at the first day at work… And now, back at Raccoon again, first day as a Special Agent.”
“This is your first day on the job…?” You couldn’t believe his words, but the way Leon smiled and nodded made you trust in what he was saying. “That… Sucks. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah, me too. I’m definitely not the guy you wanna have around on your first day at work.”
“It’s bound to be terrific if you’re around.” You teased him a little bit, alleviating some of the tension with a few laughs from both of you.
“But hey, I answered you and you didn’t answer me.” Leon nudged you with his elbow, still having his arms crossed, leaning on the table by your side while you two watched the concentration of agents, policemen and survivors. “You chose a different career, and ended up reporting directly from hell. Out of everything you could choose, why this?”
“Yeah, I know it sucks in theory… And in real life too, it’s not an easy thing and you lose a lot of faith in humanity…” You sighed, now crossing your arms and turning your gaze to an empty spot on the floor. “But… I guess… Not having the option of knowing the truth is worse than having it available. You can choose to remain oblivious and ignore the truth, but it’s still there, being reported to you – you have access to it, you can search for it and learn if you want to. You have the choice. And for you to have the choice, someone has to report it.” You shrugged after a while, sighing once again. It wasn’t much of a reason why, but it was the best you could say at the moment. “I guess, that’s why. Someone’s gotta do it.”
“Aren’t you afraid?”
“Oh, I’m terrified.” You looked back into his eyes, finding his expression of concern – a different kind now; the one Leon wore when he was worried about others. “First time I heard a gunshot close to me, my heart almost jumped out of my mouth. First time I saw a dead mangled body, I couldn’t sleep for weeks. But… You kinda get used to it. A lot of people get desensitized, and I’m probably going down that path too, but… I don’t know. It gets… Less worse with time, I guess.”
“Huh, less worse… I think I get what you mean…” Leon murmured back, now staring at the pattern on the floor as well. Both of you had your gazes lost in something else, while seeing vivid images from your memories. He could remember all the bodies he saw in Raccoon City, all the mutated experiments, all the dismembered people. Destruction everywhere, pieces of bodies everywhere, the streets reeking of blood and closed spaces smelling of entombed death. He had never seen things like that before – Leon was just a rookie cop, on his first job, thinking he would protect and serve; thrown into a warzone, with so much death, so much blood… He dreamt every night his whole body was drenched in it and he could never wash it off. “It becomes routine.”
“Yeah. Something like that…” You murmured back, shaking your head right after. “But I’ve never seen something like tonight. What scares me today is the lack of agency… These townspeople turn into animals, acting like animals, not out of free will – like people during war – but out of… Something that is turning them into these…”
Your words got caught at the tip of your tongue. You had already said that a thousand times that night, but for the first time you were having a level-headed conversation that didn’t involve fighting for survival. The words of your previous boss got in your head, chastising you for your choice of words, and, for a moment, you hesitated.
“C’mon, you can say it. Zombies.”
You and Leon shared a knowing look and couldn’t stop a quiet laugh between you both.
“Zombies.” You agreed right after, nodding slowly. “In a war, you see inhumane acts of cruelty, but you know you could never do that. You know you have morals and the people doing that have none. You know you could never get that low and must report their crimes. But today…?” You shook your head, as if to try to keep a thought away. “If one of those things get to me, I’ll turn into one of them. My mind will die, but my body will keep going, hunting like an animal, to kill and spread whatever the fuck this is. No agency. I’m no better, because my will doesn’t count. It’s not a choice. There’s no reasoning. If they bite me, if they kill me, I’m gone… And I’m one of them.”
“That’s not gonna happen.” Leon almost spoke above your last words, barely allowing you to finish – even so, you had to glance at him with a realistic look in your eyes. Few people had survived that night and, so far, you were lucky. But there was the possibility of your luck ending. You had just as much of a chance of dying to one of those things than anyone else in that room. “Hey. That’s not gonna happen. I’m gonna get you out of here. I promised you an ice cream, didn’t I?”
“That you did. You better keep that promise.” You bantered playfully in return, having a slight smile on your face. Even if Leon was saying that just for saying, you had to admit: it was efficient at calming you down and making you at least a little bit more positive about that night’s outcome. “For me and for you.”
Leon furrowed his brows for a moment, staring at you as if asking for an explanation.
“I don’t wanna leave this place alone. You’re my partner now, right…?” You risked a look at him, seeing how Leon already had a slight smile on his ever so serious lips, ready to quip back; but you had some more things to talk about. “At the hospital… I thought I lost you there for a moment.”
Leon’s eyes immediately turned somber, understanding what you were talking about. If he was going to be honest to himself, he thought he lost himself for a moment too. And that was definitely not good, given his current occupation and situation. It was his first mission after his unforgiving training… And after Raccoon City. No one ever expected the mission would be so similar to what happened to him years prior – and no one could know what kind of reaction Leon would have by being thrown in that sort of mess all over again.
With his training, he learned the best thing he could do was to keep going without thinking too much – but he never really learned what to do if his thoughts assaulted him forcefully, like it happened at the hospital.
“I’m just… Worried.” You tried, wanting to make sure he didn’t understand your words as you seeing him as a hinderance. That was the last thing that crossed your mind. “I’ve been through some pretty bad things too, you know…? And I’ve had some colleagues freeze mid-job because of… Unresolved issues.” You paused for some seconds, almost hearing the gears turning inside Leon’s head. “I… I don’t want that to happen to you.”
“What did you do…?” Leon’s question caught you off guard, making you stare at him with the same inquisitive eyes he turned at you before. “What did you do? To your colleagues who froze mid-job…?”
You flashed him a half-smile on your lips, immediately picking up the undertone in his voice – he wanted to know not only out of curiosity, but to understand where you stood in that matter. You could bet with almost entire certainty that Leon buried things inside himself because he didn’t want to look weak or to be a burden to people: his job was to be the hero, not to be the one cared about. What kind of hero needs support? What kind of hero had weaknesses?
You could almost hear his superiors saying he “couldn’t be a pussy” to survive his Special Agent training – and any kind of weakness, be it from feelings or trauma, would definitely be seen as “being a pussy”. You had seen that before.
“I carried them out of harm’s way and dragged them to our base. I’d never leave them behind.” You still had that smile on your lips, but your tone was soft and reassuring. Something in the way you spoke, made Leon’s shoulders lose a little tension and the expression in his face soften. “We’re human. Everyone breaks, one way or another. We just need people around us to lean on when our knees falter. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
“Nothing wrong with that…” Leon murmured more to himself than anything else, turning his gaze back to the spot on the floor you were once staring. He had many things to think about – but that was not the time nor the place to do so. “Did it ever happen to you?”
“Yeah, couple of times. Panic attacks suck.” You sighed, turning your gaze outside. It wasn’t something you were too comfortable talking about, but it was the very first time Leon heard it from someone else – and could share it. He needed it, and you wouldn’t deny that kind of help. You once stood in his shoes as well. “There are a few situations that trigger me still, though I kinda have it under control most of the time. It’s always good to have someone else around to help. If I don’t, though, I can only swallow it up and keep going – only to let all that tension go a few days later when I’m safe. Guess it happens to everyone with our kind of… Situation.”
“Huh. Guess so…” He nodded slowly, still going over your words. “I…” And Leon turned silent for a moment. You wouldn’t force him to say anything: if he wanted to stop talking, you would stay there in silence. He had to go at his own pace – but he had to move somewhere, or he would forever be stuck with that inside of him. “I still think about Raccoon sometimes. I still see some things… Some people… The blood. It’s still there, somewhere.” The way he spoke, it was as if Raccoon City was still alive. “It’s all happening. I don’t… Want to think about it. I don’t. But sometimes… It comes back. Even if I don’t want to.”
“Like a drop kick to your chest…?” You tried and he immediately turned his eyes towards you, but this time sporting a knowing smile on his lips. For the very first time, Leon was talking with someone who understood, even if you weren’t there in Raccoon City that night. He thought he would never meet someone who hadn’t lived through it who would understand. “And then you can’t breathe properly…”
“Your hands start shaking and you feel like you’re going to throw up.” He completed your thoughts, with you nodding enthusiastically in return. Something else stirred in his chest, though, something different. Like the joy of finally being seen by someone you admire in a crowd full of indifferent people – of not having to pretend all the time. “It fucking sucks.”
“Oh, it does. Been there.” As you agreed, you both let out quick laughs of complicity. You were also never so open about that before – but for the first time, sharing your experience might have a good outcome; and you were glad you took that leap of faith, with Leon there to catch you and not allow you to fall on the fields of self-consciousness from oversharing. “But we don’t have to go through that alone tonight.”
“Hmmm. Guess we don’t…” Leon shook his head, allowing himself to take a deep breath. For the first time in years, he had this weird – and alleviating – sensation that a weight had lifted from his shoulders. His grayish sea eyes turned back to you, now a little less worried than before. “Partner.”
“I’m gonna tell the President that’s my role now, he better accept me on the ranks.” Your serious answer made him immediately laugh – probably the first genuine laugh you ever heard from him. “Codename banana ice cream reporting for duty to work with codename choco chip, that’s how it’s gonna be.”
“Oh, he’s gonna accept it in no time.” Leon bantered back, enjoying how absurd it all sounded. A few jokes were always good to lift the spirits – but he wouldn’t lie: having you around would be a welcome thing, if that ever happened. Maybe you’d get recruited just like he was, after you escaped New Setosa. “But hey, at the hospital… You had something goin’ on your mind too, when we were leavin’. Whatever it is, you can tell me. You don’t need to go bananas on your own.”
“Oh, that was horrible…” You shook your head after hearing his dad joke, but the smile on your lips gave away it was exactly the kind of humor you needed that day. Leon smiled back a little bit, but still carried worry in his eyes. “Yeah, well… You shared your worries with me, it’s only fair that I do the same, right…?”
“Right.” Given how tentatively your question was, Leon immediately answered you in the firmest manner he could. He wouldn’t let you run away.
“Hmmm… Maybe you can help me out a bit with this…” You sighed, looking down at your feet. For some reason, you couldn’t stand looking into his eyes when thinking about the things that crossed your mind at the hospital – like you said before, in times of war, you knew your morals wouldn’t allow you to commit atrocities. But you were living times of survival – and, sometimes, morals had to be abandoned in order to save yourself. You hated that. “That hospital is really big. It’s for the whole city and it’s very well equipped. A lot of people stay there for days, weeks, or even months…” You took a deep breath, closing your eyes. “I doubt there are only a handful of survivors in that place. If we went in deeper, I bet we would find so many others… So many people that survived so far only to be entombed in that place of death and sickness to slowly perish. It’s horrible. I…” You opened your eyes again, finally looking back at him – with a contrary resolve of someone who has been told by a higher power they cannot do the right thing. “I wanted to go in, to help them. We were there, we were so close. As far as we know, we could’ve passed by so many people and not even realize it. I didn’t want to leave them behind, but… If we didn’t, we wouldn’t have saved the ones who are here with us now, right…? I don’t know, I…”
But you sighed again, looking back at the lost spot on the floor, shaking your head. You had already said a lot and there was nothing you could string coherently into words anymore – there were only a storm of feelings stirring in your heart and that you couldn’t give him. You could only try to explain.
Leon also lowered his head. He knew exactly what you were talking about. You two cared – and, during his training as a Special Agent, he would be scolded exactly because he “cared too much”. To someone in his line of work, caring too much was a weakness: you had to do what you were ordered to do – and what you could do. And that meant, sometimes, working out the odds and literally choosing who would live and who would die. Leon despised that, which made Rogers have a few doubts in his heart about the rookie: in Leon’s book, everyone survived. No sacrifices. No choices.
“You want to save everyone.” He finally finished your thought for you, saying the words you thought you would be too ridiculous when saying out loud. A ‘hero complex’ as most people would say – but he preferred to think of it as a survivor thing. “You have the chance to save yourself, you have the resources, you have the strength and the will. Why can’t you extend that to the people who need it? Sometimes, all they need is a helping hand to save their asses too.” He looked back at you and you could see not only his characteristic bleeding compassion, but also a tad of… Emptiness. “You can help. So why wouldn’t you? Who are you to choose who lives and who dies? Who are you to choose who deserves it or not…?”
You nodded in agreement while your heart lost weight inside your chest. People always used to say that was one of your weaknesses, how much you cared. But seeing Leon that night, watching him work and help so many people… You could barely call it a weakness.
“I had many times in my life that I only needed someone to give me a helping hand.” You shook your head, but agreed with every word he said. Maybe, that’s how he felt when you understood his problem – and now, it was your turn to be seen. “And I know how it feels like when no one helps. How harrowing. How desolating. It makes you want to give up everything – and I bet there are many people in that hospital thinking the same thing. I…” And you sighed, crossing your arms. “I don’t want to be indifferent. I don’t want to make that choice. The choice to close my eyes and ignore everyone else suffering around me just because I’m safe and comfortable. I want to go there where they are and bring them to safety with me… That’s what they deserve. That’s what everyone deserves.”
“Hmmm… I know the feeling…” Leon’s answer was a murmur, but it wasn’t a lie. He knew exactly how it felt – how disgusting it was to only save his own skin when he could try to save someone else too. He wasn’t better than anyone else – and, apparently, that was the same thought that haunted you when you were leaving the hospital that night. “It’s something you gotta learn to deal with… The guilt, it’ll always be there. At some point, the screams will turn quieter and stop, even if your heart feels heavy. And that’s why we have to know what we can do, what’s within our reach.” Leon looked at you, making you reciprocate his stare. Even if his eyes could be cold and empty, at that moment, they had his quiet empathy as well. “You said it yourself. We’re human. There’s only so much we can do. We have to understand those limitations and make sure we did the very best with all we had at the moment. That’s how I learned to deal with it.”
“Hmmm…” You ruminated those words for a couple of seconds, barely noticing a commotion forming in front of you. A new, very small, group of survivors had just arrived – and a man tried to talk with as many policemen and agents as possible, trying to find the one in charge. “Guess we are doomed to be haunted by our humanity, you and me…”
“Hmmm. You can put it that way too.” Leon considered, crossing his arms, but looking less pensive than you. “It’s a lot more poetic.”
“I do have a weak spot for poetry.” You answered in a matter-of-fact tone, after a sigh. Thinking too much about everything he said at that very moment wouldn’t be the best of things – you had too much to do and too much to survive. You needed to focus on that – you could spend time with philosophy later, in a chopper back to safety. “Oh, salty sea, so much of whose salt is Portugal tears!”**
Leon furrowed his brows, but had a slight smile on his lips. He had never heard that before – not that he was well versed in poems, but that one was completely unknown to him – and he would have asked you to go on your declamation, but the commotion was now fully formed. The man spoke loudly, being held by a couple of agents, trying to speak to anyone who would listen.
“You are going to get them all killed! Killed!” His words would’ve been considered furious if his eyes didn’t carry so much desperation. “Their blood will be in your hands! You have to do something!”
You and Leon glanced at each other, finally leaving your small pause. It was a miracle, even, that you had so much time to rest and talk – and a much needed one, if any of you had to say so. Now, it was time to go back to work.
“Sir… Please, sir. Calm down.” As Leon approached, he tried to get the man to stop fighting with the agents. They glanced at Leon as he quickly nodded. “I’ll talk to him. You can let him go.”
“What happened, sir?” You mirrored Leon’s way of speaking: it was probably the best way to get the man to stop fighting and talk to you. “You can explain to us.”
“Well, that’s already a lot better than those brutes! There’s no reasoning with the likes of you!” He pointed at Leon, fixing the pair of glasses on his face and trying to comb his hair back with his fingers.
“He’s… Different.” You only realized you were saying something mid-answer, to which you made yourself stop as soon as you noticed you’d have to say something about Leon. The man in question only looked back at you with a question in his eyes – which you decided to ignore. “He’s not a brute. Well, not only.” And it started going downhill quickly, with Leon crossing his arms and just watching it all unfold in front of him. You had better stop before you said something you would regret later. “He has a good heart. You can talk to us.”
But you couldn’t have stopped, could you? Leon had a shadow of a smile on his lips while you just decided to completely ignore him and pay attention to the man as if it was all on purpose and you weren’t feeling self-conscious for your attempt at calming the man enough so he would talk to both of you – and not just curse Leon and “his type”.
“They won’t listen.” The man huffed, resting his hands on his hips, shaking his head. “I’m a doctor at the hospital, one of the very few who survived. I came here with a couple other ones who managed to barricade inside a room with me until we heard the broadcast on Channel 8.” With those words, you and Leon exchanged a look that could only be defined by pride and excitement. To think your plan worked, that made all the horror you had already lived through that night worth it. “We were deeper into the hospital. That place… It’s…” The man shook his head once more, apparently holding back some tears. He took a deep breath and looked back at you with resolve in his eyes. “As we were trying to leave, we found a body, another doctor… A colleague, a friend… Pediatrician. He was slaughtered on the floor, but he managed to write a message on the wall with his own blood before dying… ‘There are children inside’. Those were the words.”
And those words fell between you like led – being accompanied by dead silence. Neither you nor Leon could say something at that moment: your suspicions were correct, and a lot worse than you had expected. So far, you could see only a few children with their parents – either one or two, but there weren’t many of them. It was very unlikely for a child to survive, but a group of them…? You never saw it coming.
“Did you see them? Where are they?” Leon’s questions came right after the initial shock. The man started shaking his head frantically.
“We tried to get to the pediatric wing, but it’s far into the hospital…” He sighed, fixing the glasses on his face once more. “This doctor, we searched his pockets. He had a note inside, here… Lemme find it…” The man searched all of his own pockets, only to find a note stained in blood and hand it over to you and Leon. “It tells a little more how they were able to save as many children as they could and lock themselves somewhere safe. They won’t be able to leave there on their own. They need help. They need a rescue team.”
Leon had the note in his hands, but you read it together – silently, somberly, hating yourselves for being right about having more survivors in the hospital.
To anyone reading this,
I’m Dr. Howard, from the Pediatric Wing at the Arklay Hill Hospital. With the virus spreading fast, me and Dr. Willows quarantined as many uninfected children as possible in the X-ray room. It has good protection and we grabbed some food and water along the way, before locking the door and barricading it. We have eight children with us – most of them sick or injured – but all of them are free from the virus that has spread through the hospital.
We hoped to be rescued, but so far, no one came. We are suspecting they have considered everyone in the hospital to be dead – but that is far from the truth. We need help – we need to save those children. Upon talking to Dr. Willows, we decided one of us should try to leave and find help.
I volunteered – Dr. Willows has hurt her ankle when we were quickly helping the children we could, so I’m the best choice. I will do my best to find help, to have them rescued. All our efforts won’t be in vain.
But… If I can’t. If I die before I can find someone, I hope this note gets in the hands of someone capable to help. I beg you: these are sweet, scared children, locked in a room with another doctor who is doing everything in her power to keep them alive. We have to help them. They cannot die there, not after… Everything we done. We have to try. I have to try.
Please. They are in the X-ray room, Pediatric Wing, Arklay Hill Hospital. I have attached a hospital map to this note, it’s the place circled in blue. I know it won’t be easy, but please… They are alive. Please, save them.
As a final note: we have been hearing loud steps outside the room. It has been difficult to get the children not to scream, they are very scared, but they learned to control their fear and stay quiet. It isn’t something like the people who die and come back to life affected by the virus – those are slow, usually dragging their feet and body, groaning or screaming like animals – these steps are different. They are heavier, faster, paced… Sentient. I cannot think of someone who would be able to survive and walk around those creatures so peacefully, so I can only think it's one of the… Other atrocities. It’s roaming the deeper areas of the hospital, and it eventually goes back to the Pediatric Wing. Whoever comes to the rescue, be warned. And be careful.
The man looked at you and Leon with expectation – his heavy breath and sweat almost blurring his glasses. As you finished reading the note, your gaze met Leon’s grayish sea eyes.
“We cannot leave them.”
Something inside Leon knew you would say those words – and at the same time he had a surge of pride when seeing your eyes filled with certainty as you spoke, he also had dread stirring in his stomach; for he knew quite well you wouldn’t let him go alone.
“We won’t.”
And you almost smiled back as Leon’s answer had as much conviction to its words as yours.
You both just had to go through Commander Rogers first.

Very quick thoughts on Arcane 2x01 - 2x03
Some highly shallow, quick reaction thoughts. I kind of don't like the bits where they experimented with the normal style. Whether it was the black and white in the opening with Caitlyn, the hextech or the blood magic. It just looked kind of cheap and corner-cutting even though I could totally picture Fortiche wanting to experiment with their own style.
The directing in the battle scenes also felt different to me.
In my memory it took me a while to go completely gaga over the show back in season 1. My verdict for season 2 is that I see some structural weaknesses, but I still like these characters and wanna see where it goes.
Anyway, on to the episodes.
So happy that Mel is alive. Throughout the episodes I kept thinking that Mel is our heroic little princess traipsing around and being moral. I was highly amused that Jayce and Mel deal with Jayce having fridged Viktor in Jayce's lab.
It made me irrationally happy that Ekko comes so early in the opening credits.
I feel like structurally there are two things that make it weaker than season 2.
I miss the old structure with the childhood flashbacks. Season 1 made great use of this to give us depth or new perspectives on characters and that allowed them to really hook you with those twists. I'm not that sad that they abandoned the "there's always a twist" approach, I feel like that might have been hard to keep up and shows that force themselves to constantly do twists feel like they suffer for it. (the only twist was Ambessa at the end of ep 3, but I felt that was fairly predictable) I also feel like there are a lot fewer horror vibes (which is something that s1 played with to get their twists off)
I think season 1 really benefitted that we saw a lot more of the characters being normal and then slowly doom approaches. That allowed us to see a casual side to many characters and I think the relationships really benefitted from, that we got to see characters just being friends or just being siblings or just being bosses and then have it ripped away. Season 1 already established most of these places and characters and they are not all in drama, one darn thing happening after another mode.
Moments that didn't really land for me
I feel like I don't get why concretely Vi is so upset over Jinx. Like I feel like I have a really good handle on why Ekko was angry at Jinx. Jinx killed one of his firelights and he is really upset that she's working with Silco who's selling Shimmer. And Vi has a lot of reasons to be upset and okay with Jinx getting killed, but I feel like her being haunted by a flashback really would have helped. Is this going back to "she's working with the guy who killed Vander and I thought he was manipulating her but now I believe she wasn't so I hold it against her", is it that Jinx abducted Caitlyn, is it the death of Caitlyn's mom, is it just that Jinx has a body count? Maybe it will be handed in the next act.
Viktor instantly becoming Hextech Jesus after he wakes up just felt rushed. Again greatly would have benefitted from some more flashbacks because him just seeing Skye doesn't really explain. Again I get the basic motivation of him disapproving of Hextech being used and going home, but it still felt off.
Moments I liked a lot
Heimer being funny during the heist
Vi getting drunk and commenting on Cait's sense of humor
Jinx and Sevika's convo in Silco's office
Mel being sneaky talking to the lady with the big ears.
Moments that worked really well
Jayce and Viktor's convo. I'm a card carrying "It's absolutely lowest on my shipping totem pole", but I thought they carried the emotion off well (admittedly that might have been my "I wonder if Silco and Vander ever argued like that"), though Jayce seemed to be suspiciously fast back on to worrying about other things (and I don't really buy that he's that fasts at smithing, btw)
Ambessa's seduction by fascism of Cait at the ending of Act 3 (I kept wondering if Cait is Ambessa's type as per Ambessa's voice lines in the game).
The CaitVi breakup. Though mostly how rough it was. Like during it I was like instantly thinking I should check the internet to see if CaitVI fans are okay, sheesh that was tough.

Fanfic chapter for my Halloween murder mystery fic
The next few days were fine, Eaglebones had managed to disassemble the lock and went down to show the chief detective, “See, the scratch marks would indicate that the lock was locked, not unlocked with a key, probably picked with a knife or something and see the oxidization, it was probably picked with the murder weapon.”
“Meaning the guy would have two murder weapons, and that dude didn't look like he was stabbed with a linoleum ripper. My guess would be a kitchen knife.” The commander put in his two cents.
The two cops just stared at them, weirded out by them. To be fair, they did look really bad.
They looked exhausted, absolutely like they were going to smack into a wall because they weren't paying attention.
The cops just shrugged, “Okay? What do you want us to do?”
The commander kept a cool head and Jimmy grabbed Eaglebones by the shoulder because he saw that look. You know the one that you do right before you're going to smack the shit out of someone, “You don't want to get arrested.” He whispered.
Eaglebones looked so done, so he just turned his brain off and just disassociated. Well, he got the technique down.
“What we want you to do is actually look around and help us find clues, you're the cops, we are not.” The commander's voice was calm, almost eerily so.
The cop stood from where he sat, towering over the three Aquabats, “Is that really a way to an officer of the law?”
The commander and Eaglebones actually answered in sync, which was really creepy, “If you were an officer of the law, you'd get off your lazy ass and stop calling us to help.”
This seemed to strike a nerve and both of the cops stood over them, a looming threat, “What'd you say to us?” The second cop asked.
Eaglebones was just done and looked like he hoped the cops would try something so he could legally hit this guy in “self defense”, “You heard us, you guys are making us do this while you, what? Sit around and eat donuts and drink coffee? Pull over teens for going slightly over the speed li-” he was unable to finish because the cop was about to grab him.
He put out his arm and, Jimmy guessed, the cop overestimated his own strength because of how mad he was and actually how weak Eaglebones’ bones actually were.
There was a loud crack and a suppressed scream of pain. Wow, the bone went through the skin. It didn't look like Eaglebones cared because he fucking stabbed the cop WITH HIS OWN BONE that was sticking OUT OF HIS FUCKING SKIN!
There was blood pooling onto the floor from Eaglebones’ arm, the cop held his shoulder where he was stabbed, fixing the bats with a death stare.
Suddenly, the lady working the receptionist desk yelled, “Yeah, fuck yeah Aquabats! Stick it to the man! Love your music!” The cop fixed her with a look, but she just put her ID on the desk, “I quit, Bryce!” she yelled, flipping him the bird with both hands as she walked out the door.
Jimmy took that as a distraction to let them all run back to the battletram.
Once on board, the commander yelled into the kitchen, “Ricky, please drive us out of here, Eaglebones may or may not have stabbed a cop.”
Ricky looked up from his reading material, “What?”
Jimmy and Eaglebones were passing through the corridor, “Hehe, with my own bone.” His speech was slightly slurred, possibly because of blood loss.
Jimmy glanced into the room, “Yeah, they might not arrest us, but who knows, we should probably go.” He continued walking down the hall with eaglebones to the lab, “Alright, on the table.”
Eaglebones did as he was told, but he was white in the face and looked like death warmed over.
Jimmy wasn't sure that he was entirely there, so he started asking the normal stuff, “On a scale of one to ten, how much does it hurt?”
“Maybe a seven?”
Okay, that was something. He touched the bone and Bones winced and tried to pull away, “Man, for fucks sake!”
Jimmy heard the commander yelling from the other room, “Hey! Language!”
Jimmy allowed himself to laugh at that, “Shut up!” Eaglebones yelled back. Jimmy did not like the look of this, “Why would you stab him with your arm?” He had stopped his prodding and was just standing back, he grabbed a needle of painkillers and jabbed it into Eaglebones’ arm before Eaglebones knew what he was doing.
“It seemed like a good idea at the time.” Eaglebones got out through clenched teeth. Jimmy went into the main room and grabbed a thing of peas as an ice pack and a towel, “Here ya go.” He handed Bones held the towel gingerly to his arm. Jimmy internally sighed, “Well, you messed up your arm pretty good, I gotta put you to sleep to fix it.”
Eaglebones’ eyes widened in fear, “You're gonna kill me?!” He exclaimed in horror. Jimmy forgot that he was pretty wonked out of his gourd with blood loss, “No, I mean unconscious, so you won't feel it.” He let out a laugh as he explained. Eaglebones relaxed a bit, the painkillers taking effect, “Just lay down, I gotta go tell the commander what I'm doing.” Eaglebones gave him a thumbs up as he watched the robot leave.
Jimmy was worried about nerve damage, as the bone was sticking out pretty far, but he would do his darn best to fix it. He was his friend, and Jimmy doesn't let friends down so easy.

@bixiebeet @spengnitzed @professorlehnsherr-almashy @amalthea9 @shelleythesapphic
Sometimes, when looking at the quiet, serious scientist in huge round glasses that worked diligently, if making a mess, fixing the complex equipment in his lab, Janine would remember the song sang by Sancho Panza, in the musical play Man of La Mancha, where he declared his autruistic, undying affection for the mad Don Quixote:
I like him, I really like him. Tear out my fingernails one by one, I like him! I don't have a very good reason, Since I've been with him, Cuckoo-nuts have been in season... But there's nothing I can do, Chop me up for onion stew, Still I'll yell to the sky Though I can't tell you why, That I like him!
Egon... he wasn’t necessarily the hot blooded man of action and adventure that Don Quixote was. For him, every move should be carefully calculated and logical. She couldn’t imagine him searching words for a love song. He probably tought that love letters were ridiculous.
And yet, the song of Sancho Panza still played in her head when she saw him...
I like him, I really like him. Pluck me naked as a scalded chicken, I like him! Don't ask me for why or wherefore, 'Cause I don't have a single good "Because" or "therefore!" You can barbecue my nose. Make a giblet of my toes, Make me freeze, make me fry. Make me sigh, make me cry. Still I'll yell to the sky, Though I can't tell you why. That I like him!
One night, Janine caught herself feeling concerned for the fact that Egon would work in his lab until late at night, ending with shorter hours of sleep than his colleagues.
He even looked thinner. Perfect candidate to catch a flu. She couldn’t see this happen and stay with crossed arms.
So the auburn haired lady from Brooklyn decided to act.
Egon was surprised with a scent of herbal tea coming into his lab. Turning his face away from his table, he saw the secretary who once tried to start a small talk with him bringing a smoking cup.
“Sorry to bother you, Dr. Spengler. I just came to bring this cup of tea.”
“Well... thank you. You didn’t need to bother, Miss Melnitz.”
“Its no bother at all. And please, feel free to call me Janine.”
“Oh, sorry, I am indeed a very formal person. But slowly I will get acustomed to call you by first name, if you so wish.”
“Alright, I will leave you in peace now...”
Janine turned her back and gave a step, but stopped when she saw Egon’s voice exclaiming:
"Wait!”
She turned her face, and saw her dark haired, tall boss, with his lips trembling in an almost meek facial expression. He spoke in a lower tone of voice:
“Don’t go...”
Intrigued, Janine walked back to his work table and asked:
“Do you need something else, Dr. Spengler?”
“I owe you an apology.”
“For?”
“For last week, when I reacted roughly at your attempts to start a conversation.”
“You didn’t offended me. You presented your opinions, and also I imagined that you wanted to extablish professional distance.”
“Still, I shouldn’t have talked so harshly about your interest in reading. After all, you didn’t talk diminishingly of my interest in Mycology, even if you found it extrange and unusual.”
“Oh... that’s right. In that case, apology accepted, Dr. Spengler.”
“Thank you... And one more thing: since you ask me to call you for your first name, can you also call me by my first name? Egon.”
“Sure... Egon. Its a strong name. Now remember to drink your tea, while its warm.”
“By the way, what tea is it?”
“Linden. For calming.”
After answering his question, Janine left the lab and returned to her desk. Egon drank the tea, and to his surprise, he enjoyed the taste!
In ten minutes, he was sleeping, serene, in his bed.

Love Bites (But so do I) part one
for Captain Swan Supernatural Summer 2023
Vampire Emma and Werewolf Killian investigate, hunt down, and eliminate those who prey on the innocent and disturb the peace between the humans and the supernatural beings.
Supernatural Steampunk Detective Horror Adventure
He watched from the shadows. Waiting for the perfect specimen to walk by.
Another lovely young lady to add to his collection. A beautiful woman to aid him in his experiments.
He was determined to find a way to turn people into mindless slaves. Beings of flesh and blood that could serve the wealthy and elite in much more pleasurable ways than any robot could.
He smiled in glee when he spotted her. A stunning creature with golden hair.
Her body was accentuated by a red dress that molded to her form. The corset was low cut and pushed up her breasts. The ruby pendant she wore further aided in drawing the eye to her chest.
It was obvious she wanted to be desired. Everything about her appearance demanded attention.
This one he would keep for himself.
He tightened his black cloak around himself and drew out his syringe.
He knew he needed to be quick. Not just to inject her with the drug to put her to sleep, but to get her back to his lab before she wakes up and before anyone could see and interrupt his task.
Luck was on his side. There was no one around.
The heels of her shoes clicking on the stone paved walkway were the only sounds to be heard.
He crept behind her, as quickly and quietly as possible. Watching for any sign that she had noticed him.
Women such as her, who made their living selling their bodies, often kept a weapon on hand to protect themselves from customers who got too aggressive.
He needed to be careful to reach her before she could take out her dagger.
He raised his hand with the syringe, aiming for her neck.
Suddenly he found himself pressed to the wall of an alleyway. A searing pain coming from the gash in his arm.
Blood was spraying everywhere.
The syringe, along with two of his fingers and his thumb, were laying on the ground.
“You have been a very bad man, professor.” The beautiful woman smiled.
Shock made way for terror when he saw the sharp fangs.
He had made the mistake of following a vampire.
“Please.” He begged. “Don’t kill me. I can get you girls. Young virgins. I work for a school. You can have your pick.”
He nearly lost consciousness when his head was snapped back and struck on the brick wall.
“You were entrusted to educate those children. Not experiment on them and manipulate them.”
She turned to face the darkness.
From it emerged the massive head of a wolf. Its fur was as black as an abyss and it’s eyes glowed a hypnotic blue.
“Get his scent, my love. We need to destroy his lab. And I doubt he will be willing to tell us where it is.”
Too paralyzed by pain and fear, he could do nothing to defend himself from the creatures of the night. Even his screams were silent.
Carrying him as if he weighed nothing, they moved with great speed through the back alleyways.
The door to his lab was locked tight by a code box. He thought that they might ask him for the code. But as it turned out, they didn’t need to.
With one swipe of his enormous paw, the werewolf broke the box from the door.
The professor was laid on the table where he had performed experiments on his drugged and helpless victims. Now it seemed, he would be the recipient.
“Make no mistake; you are going to die. But my lover and I are being paid to make your end as slow and agonizing as possible.”
The professor could see the vampire's lips move, but could hear nothing except for the crash and clang of metal.
The werewolf was literally tearing his lab apart.
He had a strong feeling he would be next.
Pained shot through him as the vampire broke every bone in his arms and legs.
“I’m not going to drink from you. You don’t deserve to feel my lips on your skin.” She looked at the beast. “But my lover will be hungry once he’s done with your machines.”
Sparks flew when the last of the monitors were pulled from the wall.
The werewolf then moved to the vampire, who looked at him with love and affection clear in her eyes.
The professor swore he could see that same love and affection mirrored in the beast’s eyes.
But that was impossible. Wasn’t it? The creatures of the night could not possibly feel love. And most certainly not for a being who was not of their own kind.
But the way the vampire stroked her hand through the fur of the werewolf made the professor question everything he had once believed.
He only had a moment to ponder this new information before he was filled with terror once again when he heard the vampire say,
“We should wrap things up here. I’ll send word that our task has been completed. You enjoy your meal.”
This time, the professor's scream was loud when a large muzzle and powerful jaws descended on him.
In the morning, passerbys noticed the lab door open. The remnants of the lab were scorched by a fire that surprisingly stayed contained.
“There must have been an explosion.” The constable proclaimed. “Whatever it was that the professor was working on got him killed and his lab destroyed.
“The constable is half right.” Nemo smiled, setting his Farnsworth tablet. A handheld device that allowed a being to see and hear whatever was transmitted on the frequency the machine was set on. “That evil professor should not have used his position as a teacher to experiment on children. It caused him to have an encounter with the best agents in the business.”
He looked up and grinned knowingly at the couple in his office.
The vampire Emma, and the werewolf Killian, were not only a deadly and attractive couple, but they were talented with investigating and solving the cases that plagued society.
“If the professor hadn't been done away with, it’s highly likely that his doing would have been blamed on a supernatural creature.” Killian said.
“The two of you have done an amazing job, as always.” Nemo praised. “Justice was served. The children are now safe. And the school can keep their reputation intact. They paid extra as thanks for ensuring the professor's death looked like an accident.”
“How generous of them.” Emma smiled. Knowing Nemo had probably insisted on the extra payment.
“It was well earned.” He took out some papers and handed them to the couple. “As will the money from this next case.” Turning to Killian he advised, “You might want to get some reinforce armor for your wolf form. There’s reports of a large creature terrorizing communities. Different towns, but residents gave the same description. It looks to be a werewolf. One that is using its form to scare people out of their wealth, and hide its identity. If anyone can put a stop to it, I know the two of you can.”

My idea for a Resident Evil sequel
Someone call @just-shower-thoughts cuz this idea came to me during the steamy cleansing ritual.
So we all know that RE sequels & remakes are inevitable, due to how much of a cash cow that franchise is. Thus, I decided to jot down my own idea for a hypothetical RE9 or RE10 (or Resident Evil X, since this franchise is just campy enough to give it's 10th game that title a la Final Fantasy).
The plot is as follows:
Tumblr media
Sheva Alomar and Rebecca Chambers are sent to a small town in Germany by the BSAA to track down rumors of BOW sightings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once they touch down, they're informed by their local contact that German citizens have been going missing, with the word on the street linking all the disappearances to a terrorist group known as Eisengeier.
With this knowledge, they set out to begin their investigation, but are suddenly attacked by a crazed local. Forced to defend themselves, they are left with no choice but to neutralize him. This causes them to be labeled as criminals, due to the lack of any obvious signs that he was a zombie, and they're forced to go on the run.
The first third of the game then becomes that of Cat-and-Mouse, with the two ladies trying to evade the law and gather intel to clear their names and resume their mission.
Eventually, they uncover a grand conspiracy, showing that Eisengeier has infiltrated the local government and has been kidnapping citizens with the help of law enforcement. They also learn that Eisengeier is being funded by an international arms dealer who calls himself Stroheim Stromberg. Armed with this knowledge, they set out to uproot the corrupt officials and obtain the location of Stroheim. This culminates in a boss battle wherein the Eisengeier official transforms into a monster by cannibalizing the politician he was working with, leading to his subsequent destruction. Before he dies, our duo are able to acquire the location of his boss: A castle tucked away in the forested mountains on the island of Usedom.
The second third of the game begins once they get to the island, where in they find that Eisengeier have completely taken over the Polish-owned side, and must fight their way through to get to the mountains. At the end of their first skirmish, they're confronted by an Eisengeier officer, who violently mutates before attacking them. This, along with the final boss battle from the previous third, confirms that much like the Ganados and Majini before them, both the members of Eisengeier and the civilians they've been kidnapping have been experimented on and turned into monsters. With this new intel, our two heroines set out to the mountains.
The path to the castle is long and hard, as they keep finding small villages that have been taken over by Eisengeier that they have to clear out. One village is even home to an expansive secret lab, which is where the meat of this part of the game takes place. In this lab, they learn more about Eisengeier, its mission statement (i.e. very obvious Neo-Nazi eugenics BS), and the secret behind this particular brand of zombie infestation: A variation of the T-Virus that's been mutated and amplified by the blood of their primary subject, who's revealed to be none other than Jake Muller.
Tumblr media
This causes Sheva & Rebecca to adjust their mission statement to include rescuing Jake, if possible. The second third ends with a boss battle, wherein an Eisengeier scientist, predictably, injects himself with the virus and transforms into a monster, forcing the ladies to set the lab to self-destruct to ensure not only his death, but also the permanent end to the group's horrific experiments.
The final 3rd begins when the duo finally reaches the castle, and they're forced to confront all the horrors within. Hordes of kidnapped infected, kitted up Eisengeier troops, lieutenants that are very obviously Reiching it up before they go monster mode, the whole nine yards. This all culminates in their rescue of Jake, who informs them of the truth regarding Stroheim Stromberg: His real identity is that of an overweight, balding, wheelchair-bound American named Enos Randallson, who funded Eisengeier to play out his delusional fantasy of "evolving into an Aryan God, just like Jake's father".
Why yes, this is supposed to be poking fun at Proud Boys. Why do you ask?
With Jake now in their party, the trio mobilize to confront Enos. Rather than accepting his defeat like a man, he throws a prolonged, nasally hissy fit that ends with him injecting himself with the modified virus and transforming into the grotesque final boss. The battle ends with the three spouting off one-liners before blasting him in the face with three rocket launchers, and the game itself ends when they escape the castle with the last piece of evidence they need to have the rest of Eisengeier arrested by proper German authorities.
And there you have it. My idea for Resident Evil 9/Resident Evil X. Pretty basic, but I still think it would be a very campy romp. What do you think?

I know you did this so very long ago but would you consider a pt3 for you Resident Evil Village Knight!Reader fics.
Alcina and Donna don’t give up but leave her alone for a while. Donna gets the broken helmet from Mother Miranda and repairs it maybe with the parts that were too broken she adds something to it, to make sure it’s whole like it used to be (like a different colour metal) and maybe makes a stuffed animal of a wolf dressed as a knight (so mf cute and fluffy) and fresh apples for R’a horse and she delivers it to R as an apology along with some cookies or something.
Alcina on the other hand sees R out when she joins her daughters on a hunt, She sees R (Maybe in a wolf form?!-but she can tell it’s R bc of her smell or something-) eating a deer so violently and when she’s done she eats another and mumbled something to herself under her breath about it being her favourite. So Alcina does what a normal tall big booby vamp lady would do and makes a wine for R infused with deer blood and names it something related to wolves or knights or something, she also gets a saddle made out of the finest leather or maybe a new sword for R. once again as an apology.
They both hope that the R will enjoy them and maybe reach out to accept the apology face to face?
R is confused but enjoys both gifts maybe one more than the other? Maybe she decided to give one of them a chance.
You don’t have to this was just an idea I had after stumbling upon your Knight!Reader story I enjoyed very much🫶🏽🫶🏽
[If [Reader] Gives Donna A Chance]
[Mother Miranda's Chapel - Underground Lab]
"Come again, Child. What did you just ask me for?" The winged woman asked as she turned to face the veiled woman behind her who stood there with the living doll on her shoulder and her hands folded in front of her - her hands being the only part of her body that remained bare. The Mother of the Four Lords had been working on some alterations with the Cadou Parasite when her door opened and the Second Lord - Donna Beneviento - walked in with her living companion - Angie The Doll - and asked her for a rather unusual request.
"Mother, I would like the Knight's Helmet Fragments. I know that you collected them on the day she crashed into the chapel to defeat one of Karl's Creations and I would like to request that you give me the fragments." Donna said in her rather quiet voice - she wanted to be the one to make this request, that's why Angie sat quietly on her porch on Donna's Shoulder. Miranda's blue eyes looked at Donna for a while before turning back to the bubbling flasks on her lab table and picked up a corked test tube but opened her mouth to speak to Donna.
"That Knight is rather interesting if I do say so, My Daughter; I know that you and your sister have an interest in her. Why is it that you seek the Helmet Fragments? Do you wish to repair them and return the helmet to the knight? Do you really think that would give access to her good graces, Daughter? Is that your plan?" Mother Miranda asked as she slowly opened the cork from the test tube and slowly poured the liquid into the large container holding the Cadou Parasite Larva, it pulsed and twitched around as the clear liquid came in contact with its' 'flesh'.
"We wronged the Knight, Mother when you sent the Lycans after her. She felt as if we were trying to harm her and I don't want to be on bad terms with her, Mother. If I repair her helmet and return it to her, maybe she will know that we have no ill will towards her as a resident in our village." Donna explained but Miranda just smirked and chuckled at Donna's explanation as she placed the empty test tube back on the rack before she walked over to another desk - where a small wooden chest lay dormant - Miranda looked at the chest and picked it up before walking over to Donna with it and held the chest out.
"You may think that My Child, but I know in your heart that you desire the knight to be yours and yours alone. Should you manage this task, I shall make the Knight a Lord, without the Cadou of course. I don't want to mess up anything in my latest child's DNA." Miranda smirked as Donna took the box and turned on her heel to walk away, through the doors, up the stairs, and out of the Chapel with the wooden box in her hands.
[About A Week Later - Beneviento Manor]
Donna's delicate hands reached for another piece of the cold black metal - the zig-zag edges felt like locked teeth. Donna looked at the construction before her and placed the piece in the proper place before she looked at what she had - the Knight's Helmet was now before her but it wasn't as perfect as it once was. Due to the fact that some of the pieces were missing - lost in Mother Miranda's Chapel - Donna had to replace the missing pieces with another black metal after shaping it to fit the helmet from memory.
"Hey, Donna!" Angie's voice made Donna jump and clench the helmet close to her chest before she turned to face the little doll that stood beside her chair.
"Yes, Angie? Is there something I can help you with?" Donna asked her companion.
"What are you doing? Isn't that the Knight's Helmet? The one that broke in Mother Miranda's Chapel?" Angie asked as Donna placed the helmet back on the table.
"Yes, it is. I asked Mother for the pieces so that I could repair them and return them to the knight." Donna looked at the helmet, placing her hand on it between the ears, her mind thinking about the knight and the way she saved her from falling into the gorge. Donna's heart picked up in pace when she stood up and walked into the kitchen with a smile on her face and a blush creeping along the bridge of her nose. "I think I shall make the Knight some cookies and pick up some apples from the market."
"Why Cookies and Apples?" Angie asked as she followed Donna into the kitchen as well as a few dolls.
"I remember seeing a basket of green apples at the Knight's Cabin, she must like them and everyone likes cookies; I'm certain she will like them as well." Donna said as she took off her veil and put on her apron. It was time to get baking.
[About 3 Hours Later]
The Head of House Beneviento stood on the edge of the forest with a nervous look on her face before she walked into the forest down the path with the basket in her hands and Angie on her shoulder. The two of them walked the area around them until they reached the clearing and the cabin in the woods. The Knight was standing outside with her armor on and without her helmet. Donna opened her mouth to speak but the sight of the knight made her throat get dry - the knight was gorgeous with her long silky hair and her muscular build - Donna didn't know what to do.
"Lady Beneviento?" She heard her name called at the knight walked over to her with a raised eyebrow, "What are you doing here?"
"I...Um...Well..." Donna stuttered but Angie decided to make herself known.
"Hey, Tall One." Angie greeted, causing the Knight to look in her direction with a smile.
"Hello, Small One. What are you guys doing here?" The Knight asked.
"Donna fixed your helmet and brought you a basket of cookies and apples." Angie explained causing Donn's face to get brighter and brighter with each word her companion said. Donna reached into the basket and pulled out the repaired helmet and handed it to the open hands of the knight, who smiled at Donna and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Thank you, Lady Beneviento." The Knight thanked her before offering a hand, "Come with me, we have some tea and cookies while we talk."

Hihiii! I have appeared with an invisible microphone up to you (you seem very talk to me idk why- could be your banner on your profile hmm) Jonah and Lorraine? What’s their deal? (/nf ask ofc :]])
People like commenting on my banners and I just realized both my main and side have fucked up Markipliers. Hm.
Also. Cracks knuckles. Ok this will probably be NONSENSE I am very tired but here's a fucking run down ( maybe I'll add tomorrow/later idk)
Jonah and Lorraine are two of my OCS that are in this circle of my Darling Wonderful OCS aka the ones I actively think about and make content for. They're in the same realm as Dulcie and Eli and Marley and Vio. Which is to say My Main Ocs.
They're also the select few that have a story/narrative of some kind! Of which I'd like to one day actually write or make comics for.
The basics of Jonah is that she's essentially a super soldier experiment, not being "finished" but the newest model that's being worked on. All lab grown, not a "real person" and therefore is not treated as such. She's made as an organic war machine and is extremely strong and durable; tear tanks and armies apart with her bare hands strong and durable. But she's also INSANELY dehumanized and abused within her facility to the point where she's just kind of. Completely apathetic and numb and permanently in a Fight state of being as a defensive mechanism.
She ends up turning on the facility during a regular trial run of her progress and she SLAUGHTERS most of the lab and facility workers. She escapes the facility and doesn't really have anywhere to go so she just Picks Somewhere. She ends up escaping to a city and climbing through a random window post-carnage and meeting Zach. A random fucking English major who can't really do anything about this massive murder woman who is now in his place.
Her entire thing is that she's learning what it means to be human while dealing with A: trauma and PTSD from Everything and B: a government desperate trying to get her back. Big Woman enjoyers who want someone severely emotionally stunted and permanently stressed out but trying her best may like her. Also she's bisexual and her blood is BRIGHT pink.
Lorraine is a chieftess of a sky island that floats over The Abyss, governing it with her two brothers. She basically oversees the safety of the villages and makes sure people are fed and tended to. Things have been getting hard though, as the island keeps crumbling little by little, and the island seems to have been falling apart faster after Lorraine's father died and she took over. She ends up getting betrayed by one of her brother's and challenges to a duel because he blames her for things sucking really bad + he's jealouuuuussss.
Lorraine loses the duel and gets stabbed through the gut with the family spear ( which has lightning magic fun fact ) and physically KICKED over the side of the island by her brother. She falls and falls and falls, spear STILL INSIDE HER, and she falls into The Abyss, which is like. An infinitely stretching void way below the island. If you fall over the edge, you aren't coming back.
But Lorraine falls into The Abyss. And wakes up. In a fucked up new world that is mangled and twisted and decaying. She gets attacked by some [creatures I haven't named yet ValleyStalkers idk] and manages to fight them off with her spear, but just barely. She faints bc of blood loss + exhaustion + lightning magic. But THEN. PLOT TWIST BITCH SHE JUST DRAGGED INTO A LITTLE ROCK SHELTER BY A LITTLE GIRL. PEOPLE CAN LIVE DOWN HERE.
Lorraine gets nursed back to health by this young girl and Lorraine is hellbent on clawing her way back up to the island and slaughtering her brother for his betrayal. And she adopts the girl and sets off on a journey to leave The Abyss. Also she's like in her 40's-50's and is a cool trans woman with a wife. For my woman enjoyers who like a stern and commanding lady who is also very sweet and sacrificial. Also who has a kickass lightning spear passed through her family's lineage.
Lorraine's lore document is collecting dust as we speak but I'd like to finalize some lore of the worldbuilding + Abyss, as well as OTHER CHARACTERS WHO AREN'T MENTIONED BC THE STORY NEEDS DEVELOPED. Jonah doesn't have a lore document yet bc I'm. Lazy.
Thumbs up!! This is like. The general overview of them. My beautiful amazing battle women.

Mediwhump May Day 1 - IV
@mediwhumpmay Hard capping myself at 1k words for each of these in the hope I finish an event at one point. Liliana belongs to @actress4him! In this AU, the Doc works as a freelance clinician serving the criminal underworld (including vigilantes and other unregistered metahumans and nonhumans). The rustling of bedsheets caught the Doctor’s attention, dragging them from their work and to their patient’s bedside. The young lady looked much better than before, at least, and it would probably be safe to release her in a couple of hours once the saline drip had run its course and they’d completed a final evaluation. She did still seem rather disoriented, however, which they supposed was to be expected, but running the bag out did still seem like a good idea.
“Ah, with us again, I see. Liliana, was it? How are you feeling?”
The girl was quite confused, blinking against the lab lights and pulling at the tubing. “W-where am I? I have to get…”
They gently pressed her hands back to the bedsheets. “Leave those alone, yes? You are in my clinic, you are safe here. I am treating you for severe dehydration. I was informed you had fainted, and I find that to be consistent with your vitals and other symptoms.”
This didn’t calm her at all. “I-I have to… I have to get back… They’ll look for me…” She pulled against their hands, but with little effort, evidently still tired.
Ah, so that’s all it was. “Worry not, my dear. Your team is aware of your location. They brought you to me, I will make you well again, and you will return. It should only be a couple of hours until they fetch you.” The fiery young woman who had come to the door had seemed rather annoyed to have to be there at all, but that wasn’t any of the Doctor’s business.
Recognition ignited in Liliana’s eyes. “You… you’re the doctor with no name.” They nodded. ‘The nameless doctor’ was an appellation they would not reject, though they would have chosen something different. “You’re expensive,” she added, sullen and with the faintest hint of reproach.
They chuckled. “Perhaps, but I am also discreet, no? You receive treatment, and no one else is the wiser. Regardless, all you required was two bags of intravenous saline and a few hours of my time I could spend on my research. It would be ridiculous for me to have you pay through the nose for that. No, no. It will be next to nothing, I assure you.” Her eyes still held traces of confusion, though whether because their use of English idioms was not quite correct or for another reason, they weren’t sure.
“They’re coming back for me.” Liliana did not seem enthused by this prospect, but rather, resigned to some sort of fate. Which again, wasn’t any of their business, but a person could be allowed a degree of curiosity.
The heart monitor beeped softly (pulse seventy-nine, blood pressure ninety-five over sixty) in the pause that stretched between them before the Doctor spoke. “You… do not wish to return to them?”
She looked up in alarm. “N-no, I w-want to go back!” they got the idea that she didn’t, actually, but that there would be consequences for voicing that desire.
“Our conversations are just between us. I will discuss nothing you say here with any other person.” They wouldn’t have lasted very long here if they were in the business of selling people out.
Liliana shook her head, though, unwilling to risk it. Smart girl. Even the small pots have ears, after all. Instead, the pair sat in silence, listening to the chirping of the equipment and the wind keening through the streets outside the clinic. The lab lamp flickered occasionally, and the Doctor reminded themselves to go out and buy new bulbs. It was usually quiet in the clinic. The Doctor found the stillness quite pleasant, even though it was often interrupted by shouting, slamming doors, and quite a lot of bleeding.
The girl pulled gently on the tape holding the intravenous tube. “How much longer...?”
The Doctor put their glasses back onto their face and squinted at the measurement lines on the bag. “Only another hour or so.”
Liliana didn’t respond, and the two sat in silence as it gradually began to rain. Taglist: @i-eat-worlds mentioned they liked the doc so i'm tagging you, let me know if you'd prefer i not do that!

V AND CHEEKY IN THE SPIDERVERSE-
*swings out*
fffUCK - OKAY, HERE WE GO -
I JUST REDESIGNED MY SPIDERSONA SO I'M IN THE MOOD FOR SOME SPIDER CONTENT.
Alright, so, V and Cheeky are the spider in their respective universe.
I'll put this under the cut because there will be Across the Spiderverse spoilers.
~ Dari
Tumblr media
VeeVee was actually, shocker, a villain! At the time, he was fighting the Spiderperson of his current universe and like "Superior Spider-Man" became the new one after he'd killed them.
Who was under the mask was actually Lady Blade, who was the spouse of his late mentor Dark... Yeah.... V was pretty horrified. Especially because she went out of her way to be kind to him and he couldn't even do her the service of letting her know that he did it.
So was a mixture of guilt and resolution to make up for his wrongs; V went underground - only to debut as "Latrodectus". He got Blade's blood and so was able to use some connections in the black market to become the new Spiderperson.
Past his spider abilities; he can create dark blasts of energy and imbue his webs with something nasty - either way, touching it can burn or kill depending on its potency. He can also see in complete darkness.
He's still quite brutal though, still wants to crush the corrupt government and labs - kills a lot of the villains that can't be persuaded to change or gets in his way.
We know the Spider-Society ain't too picky and he's skilled so... He's on call a lot for the heavy shit. He really likes pissing off Miguel.
... Has an affection for Hobie and Gwen too.
Tumblr media
Cheeky, on the other hand, was kind of drawn into the fold of a terrible love triangle. Like, they were in love with their best friend - Peter Parker, who was in love with their other friend Gwen Stacy. When they became "Jumper", they found out that Gwen had actually had a thing for them. It was just a cycle....
But to quote Spider-Gwen; "In every universe Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man and in every universe, it doesn’t end well..."
Peter knew Gwen liked Jumper and in an attempt to try and be more like them, essentially went along with an experimental program to try and become stronger... And it worked.... But it made him much crueler than before - though it gave him the ability to change his voice and appearance...
He pretended to be Jumper and started besmirching their name by committing criminal acts dressed as them(including manslaughter). Of course, they had to stop this imposter.
Neither of them meant for Gwen to get caught up in this; collateral from a scuffle that became way too large. It was actually also where he'd managed to unmask them, only to be shocked to see his best friend instead... Peter and Cheeky could only watch on in horror as the two of them were not fast enough to stop a falling billboard...
After seeing the consequences of his actions and how they've hurt the people he loves, Peter stood down and gave himself up quietly - even confessing that he'd framed Jumper... Cheeky promises to visit him in prison (read: life sentence) when they can.
But since being recruited by Miguel... They haven't really felt as if there was a good time to do so.
They can't always look Spider-Gwen in the eye - it hurts their heart... But they always let her know she's supported and cared for.
There is also a parental affection for Hobie and Peni.
Their favorite is Pav though, shhhh, don't tell the others
Oh! And past the climbing on walls and shooting webs; they can manipulate light - turning it into concentrated heat or snuffing it entirely. Using it to stun opponents is fun too, they actually have night vision visors in their mask that double as strong sunglasses.

“What are you doing?” Howard looked up. “Have you heard about time travel?” he asked. I smiled. “only in those movies, you took me to” I laughed. “Well, this is real” Howard was wearing safety goggles. It was a funny sight. “Sure, Howard” I shook my head.
“How do you know if it works?” He took his glasses. “I don’t know that’s why I called you here” I raised my eyebrow. “So, I'm your lab rat?” “You’re the most gorgeous lab rat,” he said as he kissed the top of my head. “Of course” I laughed. Howard stuck his hand out. “me lady” I stepped up on the big round plate in the middle of the room. “It’ll just be for five seconds and I will bring you back” my heart was pounding.
Remind me why I was doing this again.
“you promise?”
“I promise”
Howard gave me a Stark Industries jacket and I put it on. ”Why the jacket?” I asked. ”safety?” I raised an eyebrow. ”Sure,” I grinned. ”I trust you” Howard gave me half a smile. ”I'll see you in a minute” he placed a kiss on my cheek.
He ran behind the glass and pushed a few buttons.
Before I could ask what year I was going to, I was gone. In a matter of seconds, I was transported. I arrived in a room, looking around. I looked around and all I could notice were the huge windows. "Okay, Howard you can bring me back now"  I was stressed.
I pushed the button on my comm. "Howard, please bring me back" there was no reply. I sighed. My heart was racing out of my chest. I decided to look for a safe place. I started running, looking around.
I finally started to get my bearings. Where was I? Was I in a hotel? What year was it? I couldn’t feel my legs anymore. I just kept running and running. Halls and doors didn't seem to end. My Hands went cold and my mouth was dry. I was lost and I couldn't do anything about it.
"Howard please bring me back" tears were streaming down my face. I wasn't aware of my legs anymore. I just kept running and running and running. For a second I looked away and ran up against someone. I fell and hit my head. My eyesight went blurry. Shit. Someone looked down on me. "Howard?" This was the last thing I said before I fainted
Tony
“Shit, Happy!” I yelled. “What’s wrong boss? “ he looked down. “This girl, she’s unconscious. Help me get her to my room” I picked her up. With a little help from Happy. Once we arrived in my room I placed her on my bed.
I put up her legs, so the blood could get to her head. “Hey, Girl wake up” There was no reaction. I looked her up and down. My eye went to the jacket she was wearing. I was soo confused. I Didn’t know who this girl was; she also called me by my father’s name. This never happens.
By now everyone knew that he died 8 years ago. I inspected her jacket again, to look for a name or something. When I finally found a name tag in her pocket.
Ransom Evans. I frowned. That name looked familiar. “Ransom, hello” I slightly shook her. “Can you hear me?” she frowned slightly and started to stir. It made me smile. “There you are!” she tried to get up but I pushed her down.
“Where Am I?”
“You’re in my hotel room you fell and hit your head” I tilted my head. “Was someone following you?” I asked.
“No” Now, she sat up and pulled her legs to her chest. Now that she was sitting like that I could fully see what kind of clothes she was wearing.  “You’re not from this time, are you?” she looked at me. She was scared. “I’m not going to hurt you” I stated. “My name is Tony Stark” She looked up. “I can help you” I stuck my hand out. “Can you take me back to Howard?” I looked away for a second.
“You’re the girl that disappeared in 1947” I sighed. “That was 45 years ago” She looked at me like I was an alien. “And Howard?” her grip around my hand tightened. I sighed. “He died 8 years ago” She looked down. Her lip quivered. “How?” her voice was barely audible. “A car accident” I stammered. “Oh God” she sighed, tears streaming down her face. “Who were you to him?” she asked. She wiped her face with her hand, smudging her makeup even more. “I’m his son” She pulled her hand from mine. “He got married?” she smiled slightly through the tears. I just nodded.
I few minutes passed by in silence. Ransom calmed down. “I can’t go back, can I?” I placed my hand on my shoulder.  “I’m afraid not” I looked down. “What do I do now?”
“You can stay with me”
2009
Ransom.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Pepper asked Tony. “I need to do this, for Stark Industries” Pepper looked at me. I gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t bother trying to convince him, he does what he wants anyway” Tony laughed. “Yes, exactly what Rens said” I rolled my eyes. “It’s Ransom” Tony then shook his head and looked at me. “It’s a shame, your face doesn’t fit your name” I bit the inside of my cheek. “Tony!” Pepper yelled.
I just swallowed and then laughed. “It’s okay” I reassured her. “My dad wanted a boy” “That’s horrible” pepper sighed and placed a hand on my shoulder. I appreciated her concern but I just didn’t need that.  “Meh, it is what it is,” I said, shrugging it off. I grabbed the clipboard from the table and started checking things on the list. As I looked at my watch I noticed that my shift was over for today and that I could finally go home. There was a big pit in my stomach. Tony is going to Afghanistan to test these new weapons. This wasn't a good idea.
Tony is old enough, I said to myself. I finished my round and went to the elevator. Lucky for me it arrived and I got to step in. I sighed and leaned against the wall, unbuttoning a few buttons of my shirt.  A few floors later the elevator stopped. Happy walked in. "Hello, ms. Evans" he greeted. "Happy," I said with a slight nod. "Please call me Ransom,"  he nodded. "That's a beautiful name" he smiled while leaning awkwardly against the wall. "It's very original" I wanted to roll my eyes but I just kept it to myself.
His attempt at flirting…
"Thank you" I laughed. "I'll tell my dad" making him smile. Soon we arrived at the ground floor. "I'll see you tomorrow" I grabbed my bags and walked out.  The machine made a beeping noise as I scanned my badge. I got my keys out and jumped in my car. I was exhausted. I drove off and stopped at the flower store. As I walked in I could see the woman's eyes light up. "Ransom, honey" she spread her arms. "Hey Viv" I pulled her into a hug, taking in the smell of her perfume.
"How are you, my love?"  Her thick English accent was coming through. I let her go and sat down taking my shoes off. "I don't know" I went through my hair with my hand. "It's Tony again isn’t it?" I looked up. "Yes," I knew she didn't like him by the way she said his name. "Go on then, tell me" she cupped my cheek. "He's going to Afghanistan for the U.S Army and I have a bad feeling" Vivian's eyes met mine. "And I know you don't like him but if it weren't for him I would've been homeless or dead" I stated.
Vivian's eyes went soft. "Yeah, I know" try being teleported 64 years into the future to a place you barely know.”I remarked. Vivian pulled me into a hug again "he'll be okay" Vivian said. "Starks are resilient apparently" she looked away and I frowned. She meant something more but I just decided not to pursue it. "I'm going upstairs, yell if you need me" she put a thumbs up. Before I could put my foot on the stairs someone walked into the store. “Killian! Hi! Vivian's voice went so high that I feared only dogs could hear her.
It sparked my curiosity and I decided to take a look. A young man with a crutch walked in. “Hello Vivian” His deep voice echoed through the small store. “I am here to pick up the flowers I ordered” I had a hard time pairing his voice with the frail man standing in front of me. He could barely stand and his knuckles were white because he was holding on so tight to his crutch.
Vivian handed him a bouquet of daisies. I smiled at the sight. It looked and felt so innocent. He paid for his flowers and strutted to the door the best he could. “Come here, let me help you,” I said while taking his flowers in one hand and I locked my arm with him to give him extra support. “Where do you need to be?”  Killian looked at me.
“There’s the car” He pointed to a black car. “Oh, you work for A.I.M.” he smiled. “Yes, I work for the R&D department” he turned to me and leaned against the car. I smiled. “I Love R&D I do my best work there” I stated. “What company do you work for,” he asked. I knew what response I would get. “Stark Industries” His smile faded a little bit. “Oof, you’re not a fan” I shifted a little uncomfortably. “Well, I’m going back inside now it’s been a long day,” I said. “Do you need any further help?” I asked. Killian just shook his head. “I didn’t get your name tho” I looked at him and gave him a soft smile. “Ransom,” I said. “Nice to meet you ransom” He got in the car. “I will see you around have a nice evening” I gave him a soft nod and stepped back. I waved at him as he drove off.
I went back inside. “I’m back” I yelled when I saw she was busy in the back of the store. “You took your time” Vivian noted. “We talked a bit,” I said. “Did you know he works for A.I.M?” Vivian tensed up again. “Oh, that’s interesting” There was that weird vibe…She seemed to shrug it off and a grin appeared on her face. “Stop it”! warned her. “I’m upstairs taking a shower,” I said. “If you need me you know where I am. And for the second time today, I went up the stairs and finally made it to the apartment.
I met Vivian 5 years ago. I was looking for a place to live. Because I didn’t feel like living with Tony. she had an extra room I could afford And since then I've been living with her. I took off my heels and threw them on front of my bed. I was soo tired but forced myself to take a shower. About half an hour later I got out and dressed in a sweatshirt and sweatpants. I didn’t even take the time to dry my hair and put it in a bun.
When I put my head on the pillow my thoughts immediately went to tony. I missed him, Even though I had no reason to. We barely even did anything together since I moved out of the mansion. Minutes passed and I was finally able to fall asleep.
Hours later my phone went off. I tossed and turned a bit before I picked up. “Hello?” My voice sounded hoarse. “Ransom, it’s Pepper” she was crying. I sat straight up in my bed. “Pepper, what happened?” my heart was beating out of my chest. “Tony has been kidnapped.” my heart stopped beating. “When?” my voice was shaking. “2 hours ago,” she said crying.
“Give me 15 minutes, I’m coming over,” I said jumping up and putting on socks and shoes. I ran to the living room to gather my stuff. “Ransom, what’s wrong?” Vivian walked out of her bedroom. “I was finally putting on my jacket. “Tony has been kidnapped I’m going to the company,” I said. ‘I know what you’re gonna say but I’m not staying here and doing nothing”  Vivian sighed. “Alright, be careful” I nodded and ran to my car.

How many hoops will I have to jump through to get treatment for T2 diabetes?
I started with a new health insurance company this year. I've been diabetic since I was 16, which is to say I'm a seasoned professional at having a subpar endocrine system. I know what I need to thrive, and all I need from a medical professional is someone to prescribe my drugs and order quarterly labs. I don't need anything weird or exotic; my care is entirely standard and hinges on two (2) specific medications that have been available for years. Let's see how many hoops it takes to get these medications:
Get my member number for New Insurance, online portal link, and instructions to pick a doctor. Attempt to pick specific primary care provider who works with a lot of T2 patients.
This specific doctor is leaving the New Insurance network. Get assigned a random doctor.
Appointment with randomly selected doctor is only 20 minutes. Email him a summary of what I need from the appointment.
Intake nurse at doctor appointment tells me several times I am critically obese. Attempts to send me to weight loss clinic.
I tell the nurse I am overweight because I have been sick for an entire year and unable to cook healthy meals and exercise. Nurse tells me my diabetes will get far worse if I'm not willing to lose weight. He leaves the room.
Random doctor did not have time to read the email I sent before my appointment.
Random doctor tells me the New Insurance does not cover my diabetes medications unless I can prove that other medications did not work for me.
The list is 7 drugs long.
They use A1C (blood test) to prove the drugs don't work. A1Cs can only be ordered every three months.
I tell the doctor that of the 7 listed medications, I have tried 5 of them and they do not work and/or the side effects were too harsh.
New Insurance will not accept my claims without blood work to prove them. New Insurance will not contact Prior Insurance where I already did all this or respect their coverage.
It would take almost two years of using medications that do not work and make me sick to return to my current regiment that is working fabulously.
New doctor literally says, "Sorry, I can't help you with that," and leaves the room.
Weight loss nurse comes back and tells me my preferred prescriptions have off-label uses for weight loss, and the weight loss clinic may be able to prescribe them.
Let the nurse schedule me for the weight loss clinic.
Go to weight loss clinic. A giant BMI chart hangs at eye level as I stand on the the scale. The intake nurse shows me how obese I am.
Intake nurse asks me no less than four times if I'm sure I want my appointment notes printed after the appointment.
Weight loss doctor comes in. She asks me about my experience with weight loss.
I tell her the thing that works best for me is keeping my blood sugar under control because then I have the energy to cook and exercise. I tell her my priority is getting my prescriptions.
Weight loss doctor tells me that New Insurance will not provide those medications because my plan does not include Weight Loss Coverage.
Weight loss doctor says that while I am critically obese, I am not obese enough for those prescriptions without Weight Loss Coverage.
Silently cry while she tells me that I won't need those prescriptions because I can make lifestyle changes instead.
Weight loss doctor googles a youtube video that explains how to do low calorie, ketogenic intermittent fasting.
Tells me the diet isn't as extreme because I can increase from 1200 to 1400 calories if I want and shrink the fasting window from 16 to 14 hrs.
Notices me crying, offers to send prescriptions to a Canadian pharmacy. They would only be $600 for a one month supply that way.
Leave office, make appointment with insurance lady to see if there is some way in hell to get back on my old plan.
In an incredible twist of fate, I have 12 hrs left to switch to my old plan; but I will be regarded as a brand new patient with no prior authorizations.
To be continued!
Edit: more updates!
Am able to get back on my old insurance plan. Sort that out and start trying to get a new PCP. I need a PCP to prescribe me my drugs.
The new insurance plan does not kick in until next month. I cannot schedule any appointments.
I am out of my diabetes medications for the next three weeks
Eureka! New Insurance will cover prescriptions made by Prior Insurance for a grace period of 30 days.
Attempt to fill them with phone system. Do not have the information to do so because they have not been provided by New Insurance.
Attempt to fill them through online portal.
Medications have been prescribed at 6x the dosage that I need. I cannot divide the doses with this medication.
Call a local branch of New Insurance pharmacy to sort this out.
There are now two prescriptions for my medication on file: Correct Does and Murder Dose. Weight loss clinic wrote the Murder Dose prescription. As expected, this was denied.
New Insurance applied the denial to both the Correct and Murder prescriptions.
Tell pharmacy tech the Correct Dose should be covered by the new patient grace period. Remind her this is for blood sugar control and not something I can YOLO.
Tech repeatedly tells me that I do not meet the qualifications for this prescription. Repeatedly reply that I am trying to get it filled using the grace period.
