Kara needs to realise she's in love with Lena on her own!!

This one for away from me! 😅

I've been seeing a lot of posts saying they wish Cat Grant would come back and tell Kara she is in love with Lena, or that Alex should tell her.

But the thing is, I don't want that to happen!

Guys, one of things that has been annoying people to no end is the fact that Kara has to be TOLD she's into someone. She had to be told she was into Mon El and she's basically being told she's into William.

Lena had to be told she had chemistry with James, a romance that came out of literally nowhere and didn't go anywhere but rock bottom because of the lack of build up, chemistry, communication and utter disrespect James had for Lena both as a girlfriend and as his boss.

Anyone who reads my posts knows I couldn't stand James, but at least he and Kara had actual chemistry in season one right from the get go. Kara didn't need to be told she was into James, she was aware of it. She did however have to be told by Alex that Adam was flirting with her.

So why would we want someone to once again tell Kara she is into someone rather than her coming to this realisation all on her own?

Should the writers ever put Kara and Lena together they need to come to the realisation that they are into each other all on their own. Constantly having to be told you are into someone is a poor way of showing a romance.

Antis would have a field day it Alex or anyone else told Kara she was in love with Lena. They would say the exact same thing we've been saying, that they had to be told this because there is no chemistry.

So no, I don't want Cat Grant to come back to tell Kara she's being and idiot and is in love with Lena. Should the writers want to make SC canon I want Kara to realise she's in love with Lena. I want the writers to stop making her an oblivious dumb ass who protests she isn't into someone only for another character to tell her she must be and for her to be like "yeah you must be right and I must be wrong " and to constantly second guess herself.

Kara had chemistry with Mon El but the relationship was riddled with problems, lies and a lack of respect. Not all on Mon Els part, Kara didn't have a lot of respect for him either and tried to push him into doing something he didn't want to do.

My biggest issue with Karamel and why I never saw it as endgame was because these two characters didn't really know all that much about eachother. Kara knew Mon El the ex royal guard and the new person he decided to be on Earth and Mon El knew Kara Danvers and Supergirl. Kara didn't know who Mon El truly was until just before she had to send him away. She found out he was the Prince she couldn't stand and they had no time to discuss it before he was yeeted into space. After Mon El came back he was someone completely different, he wasnt the Mon El she had known and Mon El finally got to meet Kara Zor El. This would have been good for me if he hadn't come back with a wife. But he did, and he still strung Kara along, even discussing his marriage issues with her to the point she told him she didn't want to hear it.

Now Kara and Lena have a similar issue. Lena got to know Kara Danvers and Supergirl but unlike Mon El she knew them as two separate people. Kara got to know Lena Luthor, Lena didn't have a secret second identity and didn't lie about who she was, she didn't pretend to be "Lena Thorul" or "Tess Mercer". Kara actively kept her identity a secret from Lena which would have been fine if she hadn't gone all OOC in season 3 and decided she could play Lena by being an ass to her as Supergirl but then come back and play nice and be Lena's bff as Kara Danvers. Yes, Lena kept secrets from Supergirl but she didn't do these things to hurt her, secrets were kept to protect Sam and it's not like Supergirl didn't keep secrets from Lena. Lena didn't tell Kara everything either, but why would she tell her civilian best friend about the top secret projects she was working on ? Or that she had met with Lex and was keeping him alive? What buisness is that of Kara Danvers?

Remember when Kara screamed at Mon El that she had given her heart to a lying Jack ass?

what if Lena believes she gave her heart to a lying Jack ass as well? Lena even told Kara that she had broken her heart.

The funny thing about these two is that no matter what they just can't forget about each other. Even when Supergirl was being an ass to Lena she was still there for her and Lena was still there for Supergirl. They may have been mad at each other but they came swooping in whenever the other needed help.

Remember the scene where Kara had hoped that what had happened wouldn't ruin their friendship? But Lena wasn't going to sit and take that and told her that she had real friends, ones that didn't lie to her and didn't ask her boyfriend to vilolate her trust? Kara or rather Supergirl looked broken and what did she do? Kara went straight back to Lena for the first time in RAO knows when as Kara Danvers so she could be with her best friend so she could have Lena in some way. But we still saw the guilt on her face when Lena said she could never trust Supergirl again.

Then we had the reveal and great RAO!! That was one of the most emotional scenes the show has ever produced. Kara was broken! She knew what she had done was wrong, keeping the secret for a while wasn't wrong but all the bull shit that came with it and the length of time was what was wrong. Kara herself has admitted this. Kara was practically hyperventilating when she revealed herself and when Lena just walked passed her she was broken. The look of utter relief when she believed Lena had forgiven her was amazing. Personally to me it looked like Lena really did in some way forgive her and couldn't bear to see Kara like that. She's always been weak around Kara, but the moment she was alone with the AI and only her thoughts for company the hard side of her that closes of any feelings of love came out.

Then we had Kara going out of her way to try to make Lena happy. She flew around the world to her her favourite things to make her happy. Lena really looked like she appreciated this , I know that she was pretending but part of me thinks she really did appreciate it. It only took a request and one pouty face from Lena for Kara to break the law, to go against advice not to do it just to make Lena happy. Non of that was healthy for either one of them, the problem was that they didn't really discuss the 3 years of lies and everything that came with it. They had a few tears and a hug and suddenly were bffs only with super benefits now. We know why Lena didn't bring it up, but Kara was willing to accept that everything was absolutely fine and she didn't really question it, she was to over the moon Lena seemed OK with her.

Then we had the scene in the Fortress. Lena may have been trying to play the big bad I don't need you Luthor in this scene but she failed miserably. This was Lena's turn to absolutely break down like Kara did at the award ceremony. There are true feeling of love between these two whichever type of love you decide it is. You don't break down over someone you don't care about. Lena shot Lex to keep the world and Kara safe even though she felt betrayed by Kara. Now I know people hate that Lena used Kryptonite , but I'm sorry Kara showed no signs of pain, only heart break. Plus no one gave a rats ass when Jonn or Alex used it on her and she showed it bloody hurt. Even after she was released from the fortress she showed no signs of being in any pain, so any 'torture' commentators can sit down before you hurt yourselves.

Kara STILL believed in Lena and didn't want her hurt when she was about to use the medusa virus. It was Alex who used and manipulated her. Kara was almost getting through to Lena before Alex decided trick her then to point a canon at Lena! Rememeber it was Hope that shot at Kara, Lena didn't want that to happen at all.

Lena is still fighting to help save the day even when she supposedly hates Kara. She helped during Crisis and even if she did 100% hate Kara and the super friends she is still the reason 1000s are still alive. But no one wants to remember that. No one wants to remember she's the reason National City survived the Daxamites, no one wants to remember how she helped with Reign. No one wants to rememeber how she re-created Harun El and cured cancer. No one wants to rememeber that she mass produced Harun El and gave it to Alura along with the recipe so Argo could survive. No one wants to remember she saved Argo a second time when she shot Lex. No one wants to remember that she saved all the aliens of National City from the isotope. No one wants rememeber she had a suit ready to save Supergirl from the poisoned air. Shall I go on? Lena Luthor is a hero, she's going down a dodgy path because she is hurt, confused, betrayed and traumatised but it doesn't mean she's evil. A lot of fans don't seem to understand the definition of the word at all, Lena isnt being good right now by any stretch of the imagination but she certainly isn't evil.

People keep saying how she should finally have her redemption, and how bad it is that the guys get theirs. But here's the thing, all those things I mentioned above? Those ARE Lena's redemption. To be completely honest, Lena came into the show with people believing she needed redemption because of her name. But she didn't, it wasnt Lena herself who needed the redemption, it was the family name. Lena hasn't redeemed the Luthor name so much because Lillian and Lex kept f**king it up, but my RAO she has more than earned her place as hero and not like her family at all. This right here? Is a set back and everyone likes to conveniently forget everything she's done.

The writers have made Lena very OOC this season. Personally I think she will give up on this idea of hers. Lena isn't an angel, but then neither is Kara, or Alex, or Jonn or Brainy. The only actual angels at the moment are probably Nia and Kelly since we haven't seen them do anything dodgy or kill anyone (I'm assuming bad past Brainy did) and have it glossed over like it didn't matter.

But now we have Kara still not being able to stop talking about Lena. Even in regards to possibly starting a relationship with William she can't help but compare it to what happened to Lena.

Now that was a lot, but bottom line is if Kara is in love with Lena SHE and only SHE needs to come to that realisation. Having someone else tell her would cheapen it and make it look like the writers had no choice but to have some tell Kara to make it real, just like that have been doing non stop so far.

Plus Lena and Kara can not start a relationship any time soon. That would be a terrible idea. They can realise they are in love but starting something together would be rushed and unhealthy. THERAPY! They have Kelly there! But personally I think Kelly giving any kind of therapy to her girlfriends sister and her brothers ex would be a conflict of interest. She would be biased in Kara's favour whether she would realise it or not.

Miraculous ladybug love square part 3

As for ladybug’s treatment of chat. She cares about him. They are clearly friends and she can play with his jokes sometimes as well. She trusts him to get his side of the job done most of the time. She doesn’t treat him with kid gloves andcan get angry at him but also make up with him. She had faith that it wasnt the real chat in copycat. She proclaimed he was important in antibug on the roof and was willing to risk her identity to untie himfrom a pole. and she trusted he’d catch adrien if she was unable to. She isn’t the best listener when it comes to chat. assuming his flirting wasn’t serious. Didn’t trust his advice when facing volphina, or antibug, or miraculer. she often leaves him out of the lop but it can be argued thats more tikki and master fu’s call on the situation. She does worry about and care about him. even if sometimes she might think its a given he’ll be there. and her comfort to express her emotions means sometimes she can go a bit too far like when she said she didn’t trust him anymore and she didn’t think about how that migt affect their dynamic because she was used to the fight and make up route and it was her way of expressing how upset she was. she alsohas the double standard when itcomes to treating civilian adrien super nice compared to chat noir. but thats kindof a given with crushes. Ladybug did listen to his feelings in glacatiour and doesn’t force him to stop expressing himself entirely like with the yellow rose. but honestly its easier to argue adrien has a secert mini attraction to her civilian self than it is to picture ladybug having a crush on chat. but we have seen her jealous over herself when it comes to chat. and ladybug was more likly to believe adrien betrayed her idntity in a timeline than the idea that adrien and chat could be the same person.

I love maribug and I know how much she cares. but even if her nerves and fears are relatable...its hard to give my all in supporting her when she isn’t honest with him about her feelings.

Adrien has a bunch of loved ones who are all really weird at communicating. They all love him but they are ALL realy bad at showing it to him and aren’t always good at loving him even if they do love him. like his dad(yes even his participation trophy of a dad), nathalie, gorilla, chloe and plagg aren’t very strait forward in their affections. pretty emotionally stunted and arent the best at emotion talks. Kagami is still learning to be more expressive and vulnerable even though she is strait forward. but as much as I love mari and knows she cares....her loving him doesn’t exactly do adrien any good if he never knows she cares. as much as I ship adriennette adrien deserves someone to tell him they love him and mari isn’t doing a good job of getting that across. and due to how deeply mari feels I can’t help but imagine she would not be able to take a rejection very well and stay adrien’s friend like how chat is with ladybug.

and now lets dicuss the lukanette and kagadrien ships.

Luka is a sweetheart. he is mature and stable. he can understand mari’s feelings very easily and he never pressures her. she can easily talk to him. He is very supportive and mari is comfortable being vulnerable around him and talking about feelings. Luka also picks up mari’s social ques unlike adrien who struggles with mari at times. they are both creative people. He gives her a place to relax without judgment and support no matter what she chooses. and He made it clear that he likes her romantically and clearly let her know he likes her. That takes away more anxiety. He also knows about her feelings for adrien. He has good hero qualities(was even chat/adrien approved). and he lets mari go at her own pace which is refreshing when you think about her friends and even herself who tend to get impatient for romance and shov extreme shipping moments down our throats. luka makes mari feel wanted and he DID turn her compass. somthing chat hasn’t even done. though mari had decided to stay focused on adrien for a while still. She doesn’t put herself own or think luka is out of her league unlike what she does with adrien. and luka is available to hang out whenever unlike adrie who has to bale due to his dad alot

downsides is luka might be too chill. mari often needs boosts that prompt her to certain aths and lukas chillness might make her not commit as much since it seems fine. Luka is selfless an its great for mari to figure her own feelings. but it does let mari someone be insensative or hurt luka due to not thinking of his feelings. and it gives the impression that luka could easily let her go. that he wouldnt fight for her or specifically for HIS feelings for her. he is also a year older and mature which could have issues because she ISN’T mature at times. luka soothes but chat is good at cheering her up or distracting her from her issues and chat actually points out when he disagrees with something. we don’t see luka standing up for his own feelings or admitting mari might have hurt him at times. like in desperada with her reaction toward kagami and adrien. or her choosing adrien to play guitar rather than the obvious luka. anf if luka has issues he doesn’t strait up tell mari unlike what chat or drien does. so mari might miss extra stuff when it comes to luka as a friend or romantically because luka seems good at communication.

Kagami has good things and bad things with adrien.

Kagami is straitforward about her feelings so thats good because expecting adrien to guess feelings and respond isnt exactly fair. both of them enjoy fencing and competeing against one another. they both enjoy the adrenaline rush in fencing or in akuma battles. both understand the other aren’t the best at social Qs. They both can hand out during parent schedualed activities unlike adrien’s other friends. kagami and adrien make jokes together. sneak out together. and cal talk about their over baring parents and understand eachother in that regard. Both admire ladybug and both admire marinette. both know the importance of validating your own feelings and can be honest with eachother. Adrien can teach kagami that winning isnt everything and the more softer emotions and jokes like how adrien got her her fencing sabre after she lost and was upset andfelt like a failure. and adrien can introduce kagami to even more friends. and kagami knows about his other crush. and kagami can teach adrien to be firmer with boundaries.

down sides is kagami might be straightforward but she also does hide some of her vulnerable and soft emotions from adrien and how invested she really is. they both move pretty quickly when it comes to love. and kagami isn’t the most sensitive I guess at times. and Kagami might treat him like a regular friend but they ARE both a little pressured by their parents to make this work. and kagami is still working through her own perfectionist tendencies and her seeing things as matches. winning, losing and points. adrien also can be prone to pressure at times. so kagami might accidentally pressure him with her aggressive stances at times. and we know adrien still has some feelings for ladybug so that could trouble thingsif that persists. kagami seems like a open book that adrien might forget to look deeper o find moe of her issues. and kagami isnt exactly a expert on softness or feelings. and they might be feeing the way they do out of expectation from the parents. or just wanting more time together and mistaking that for love when they don;t have much experience.

plus of course the secert identity issues. and they might forget to let moments breath.

both adrien and kagami are similar.

and mari and luka are similar.

only adrien has a selfless streak in him and mari doesn’t always want to be selfless and wants to be selfish about feelings.

An Analysis of Dabi - Chapter 266-267

*Mayor Spoliers for MHA chapter 266 below”

Following the events of MHA chapter 267, there have been some debate wheter we should take Dabi on his words, in regards of how little he cared about Dabi and what Hawks did to him.

here ill give my thoughts on it, and break down how dabi acts through the chapter and why.

To begin with, in chapter 267 he attacks indiscriminatly with his fire when attacking Hawk, leading to a situation where he could easily have hit dabi if hawke didnt save him. however, as he himself admits, he fully expected Hawk to save Dabi. Which he does(the irony).

There are essentially two ways of looking at this. either Dabi’s words in the next chapter is reinforced here by the way he attacked and could easily have hit dabi, or he took a calculated risk, and banked on Hawks sacrificing more feathers to save Dabi. in the chapter itself there is nothing to prove this either way, but juding by what happened in the next chapter, im going to say he was banking on the second one.

Now, even with this, it shows that this isnt a traditional friendship, as he was most certainly putting Twice in danger with his actions, showing that he is ruthless when it gets down to it, but i really doubt he thought Twice was in real danger of being left behind, as he clearly understands hawks a lot.

Following up on this, he only attacks Hawks again once Twice jumps out of the way. and again it is possible to debate here, as Hawks is clearly distracted by Twice escape from him, and as such a brilliant time to attack.

Following this, it is dabi who encourages twice to go out and save the day for the league, and as he leaves Dabi gives Twice a highfive for encouragment.

Like all the moments ive discussed so far, there are two interpretations of this scene. Either Dabi is giving his buddy an uncharacteristic show of friendship and encouragement to twice as he’s going out to turn the tide, or he’s just prepping him up to use for his own ends.

following him realised that Hawks was fast enough to exit and attacking twice again from the entrance, Dabi tries one last ditch effort to save Dabi, attacking Hawks both through distracting Hawks and through killing him with fire. 

whatever his feelings, Dabi is clearly giving it his all.

following Twice’s death, Dabi explodes in Anger with a blast of fire so strong it blows up the upper windows in the room they were fighting in, that was on the other side of where the blast was directed. Also, he’s screaming in rage.

followin this little outburst, he begins to really lose it, and starts kicking the tar out of Hawks.

also, ive seen a few different translations of what he says here. in this scan he’s mocking Hawks by sarcasticly calling him out on how he just killed Twice(that entire topic is also delving into the central themes of this series which im not going to cover in this post), while in other translations he just screams “How Dare You Kill Twice!”, which one is correct i dont know, but neither really supports the idea that Twice dying didnt affect him.

Also note that throughout the first part of chapter 267, all of Dabi’s speech bubbles are jagged, rough and all around doing a very good job of showing that what just happened really affected him. he’s yelling, shouting being all around the opposite of the calm seemingly never gives a shit guy Dabi always tries to portray himself as. it is a huge departure from how he’s almost always been throughout most of this story.

following up on that, Hawks tries to call him out how he doesnt look like a guy who’s friend just died.

only for Dabi to immediatly mock/reject that idea by telling Hawks that His tear Glands are burnt up, so he isnt physically capable of crying.

Here Dabi begins to fall back to his defence mechanism. Detachment. he purposfully tries to mentally detacht himself from Twice in order to lessen the hurt. Dabi immediatly tries to fall back to how things were when he first met the league, back when he really didnt give a shit about him. Asserting that he didnt care about twice, twice was just part of his plan, the mission, a pawn to use and nothing more. He goes further along in that path as the chapter proceeds, and he begins to calm down, but at this moment, just after Twice died and Dabi failed to save him, that facade is just words.

This is not the face of a guy who just suffered a setback to his plans. this is the face of a guy, who really, really hurts, and has the source of his hurt firmly planted beneath his boots. 

Twice’s death really hurt Dabi, far more than the man who constantly tells everyone how he doesnt care about anything would ever be willing to addmit. so he tries to go back, back to how it was at the start. anything to stop the hurt.

Dabi tries to be sarcastic here. to make this all another one of his jokes about how he doesnt give a shit about anyone. but the reality is that it really isnt. Twice is dead, his budy just got stabbed through the head because Dabi made a bad tactical assessment.

his assesment that he’s pretty broken up over it is completely honest. He simply tries to say that its not because he actually liked Twice, or the leage for that matter. no, for him the only thing that matters is the mission.

And that might be true going foreward, that Twice’s death will lead him to double down on that mission to really distance himself from his criminal, broken found family.

but for right now, the only thing that matters to him is turning the guy beneath his feet into ashes.

As Hawks begins to speak and ask him who the hell he is, Dabi lets him, instead of just delivering the killing blow and be done with it. why he does so, isnt exactly clear. maybe he wants to jab the knife in by telling Hawks who he is(as if thats a secret at this point. just like tobi, there is only one real candidate at this point), maybe he’s curious what hawks last words will be. maybe he’s just not thinking straight.

However, once Hawks is done, It’s very clear that Dabi has calmed down. his speech bubbles back to normal, and he reinforces what his motives are while going back to the cooky arrogant kung-fu guy he always tries to portray himself as.

In other words, He makes a concious decision to reinforce his own self image of who he is. Stain’s true successor, a man who despises false heroes more than anyone else in the world.

this isnt exclusively a defence mechanism to try and distance himself from the league and Twice in order to not hurt, as its things he truely believes in, but its hard to not say that it’s the main motivator. a return to the simpler times when he was alone, and didnt need to be part of a group. after all, if youre alone, you can never be hurt when something happens to anyone else. kinda like what just happened when his friend just died in front of him.

Dabi desperatly tries to push away the pain of Twice dying, and unlike Toga who’s main motivation is always being honest, Dabi is the exact opposite. ever since joining he’s always been the main arguer against not caring about anyone in the league. howver, as shown back during the city arc, Dabi made the choice to stick by Shigaraki when the going got tough, not leaving behind his comrades when it seemed they were losing.

and finally, trying to reinforce that idea to himself, he prepares to kill hawks while delivering the biggest lie of the chapter. 

Wheter you believe that Dabi is being honest about never caring about anyone in the league, i think we can all agree that The last things he says to Hawks is such a bullshit lie.

this matters to him insanely much, and the only reason he would feel the need to lie about it to a dying man, is if he is trying to convince himself that no, he doesnt care. he doesnt care about anything that just happened.

But actions speaks louder than words, and as we’ve seen this entire chapter, Dabi fucking lost it when Twice died and he twisted the knife in before he landed the killing blow.

Dabi cared about Twice, and he took steps to avenge him by burning his killer to a roasted chicken.

Why does everyone seem to agree that Adora did everything she could for Catra?

I mean yes Adora obviously cares for Catra and wants/wanted her to leave the horde but she didnt do much to help move that along.

I can't be the only person who sees how this train of thought doesn't make sense. Adora, although is a great person with a good moral compass and is obviously the Hero of etheria, isn't the hero for Catra.

Catra was her bestfriend, and possibly more, for her entire life but when Adora found out about what the horde was doing she just left her there. Yes, Adora asked her to come with her but this was at the battle of thaymor. [IMO it was afterthought because Catra happened to be the one leading the charge] Catra was not only told by a superior office to save Adora or else, she was also worried about her friend. She's going to see everyone who isn't wearing a horde crest as a potential threat. Catra is in solider mode, just like Adora was when she was fighting and captured by bow and glimmer.

Catra even says "oh right innocent people who kidnapped a horde soldier". She's obviously, and given the circumstances rightfully so, going to perceive them as enemies. A two minute conversation about the horde being evil is not going to be enough to change Catra's mind. Even Adora had to see the battered city, the she ra temple and be apart of thaymor before the invasion to really believe the horde was lying to her.

Yes, Catra is different from Adora since she knew they were evil before that but that's because she was literally being abused while she was in the horde. Abuse that Adora knew about and saw first hand. Unlike how Adora was treated better and felt like she could make the decision to leave, Catra was held to the horde for years of being controlled by fear.

If Adora wanted to help and protect her friend, she would have done more to convince her it was okay to leave the horde.

After that interaction she doesn't even bring Catra up. She brings up that its weird to not sleep with other people around but doesn't show any signs of missing the one constant person in her life. At least she doesn't speak any of these feelings aloud to the new people she's willing to befriend and fight for. The most she does is bring up general differences from the fright zone in comparison to bright moon. Even when they have that sleepover she doesn't bring up Catra or feeling lonely even though that would be the perfect time to express it.

The next time she sees Catra they are fighting again however, this time Catra is actually voicing her concerns. She's angry but bringing up valid points and Adora barely even engages her. She doesn't tell Catra that she needed to leave the horde but never wanted it to come between her and Catra.

Catra gives her an opening to say something, anything that could show that their relationship has meaning when she says "hasn't this gone on long enough" when asking Adora to come home. Instead of at least trying to get Catra to listen she just says she isnt going back to the horde which in turn means she's completely decided to leave Catra behind.

The whole first season she ignored how she left her friends behind without a second glance. That fact is even mirrored in bow and glimmers argument at princess prom to show that Adora didn't really take into account how much her actions negatively impacted her friend. She went from being best friends to enemies without any real dialogue to prevent it, meanwhile Catra is still being mistreated by shadow weaver.

Adora mounts a recuse mission to the fright zone to save glimmer but didnt once think to do that or some form of that for Catra. She only ever seems to want to talk to Catra when they are forced into situations together. (Thaymor, when catra gives back the sword, when they are locked in the ruins)

The next time she actually talks to Catra is when they are locked in the first ones ruins and they literally can't leave. By then Catra's trust in Adora is broken. She's had to fight her for however many months with no real explanation and now that it's convenient Adora tells her that she didnt want to leave her. Even though she's done more fighting for her new friends than we've seen her do for Catra.

She even belittles Catra when she's fighting the spider robot. When catra yet again shows she cares for Adora by saving her from falling in the pit, Adora admits she doesn't have that much faith in Catra. Catra agrees with Adora but as we find out in the next scene Catra is used to hiding her real feelings when something Adora does hurts her.

She keeps bringing up her new friends and how it's Catra's fault but doesn't even think about what she's done to Catra until Catra gets upset about her stepping into with the finishing blow to the robot. She finally says shes sorry after months of literally doing nothing by fighting. And then tells Catra she doesn't have to let Shadow weaver treat her the way she does anymore, as if to say its Catra's fault she's still being abused because she can just leave.

I like Adora and i think she can be a really good friend and can be a good friend to Catra but she wasn't and hasn't been since she meet bow and glimmer. She's not the only one who should do self reflection when it comes to her and Catra's relationship because she wasn't always in the right.

Obviously Cartra has done some fucked up things she'll need to atone for but I'll feel some type of way if they make up and Adora doesn't admit any wrong doing on her part for their friendship/relationship falling apart.

And if I didn’t bother pursuing those goals, and thereby tacitly accepting the untold suffering that resulted from my inaction, wouldn’t that make me a bad person? If I try and succeed, I’m a hero, right? And if I try and fail, at least I made things interesting on my way to the grave. There would be a tragic nobility in that. And the way I see it, settling for anything less from my arc would be, frankly, pathetic.

So yeah, of course I know I “have to be stopped.” It’s part of the contract. What you sign up for when you assume the burdens of this sort of power. Where there is that which must be subdued and suborned for the greater good, there is that which will instinctively resist. That which intuits that whatever’s going on here is “wrong.” Otherwise, intervention wouldn’t even be necessary, would it?

Yeah, the Heroic and Just death parameters I outlined in the Ultimate Riddle post pretty clearly line up here that he’s fucking shit over in a way he refuses to truly believe is going to end up in his Just demise even if he knows it on some level.  Fucking over everyone’s wills like that?  Fuck you.

Okay I’m churning through this all pretty quickly now that there isn’t a bunch of hyperdense prose in the way.  Excellent conversation between characters, furthering the plot along while engaging in very understandable hilarity.

He’s also an incompetent thief, relying on suggestions from his nine year old son to fix his plans, but he refuses to admit such a thing. And so it is, when Len unexpectedly falls sick with a flu that robs him of his voice, he shrugs and does without.

He fails.

The Families have no patience for failure.

Lewis Snart is gunned down in his own house, before the horrified eyes of his son and his infant daughter.

Len’s foster home - both his and Lisa’s, a kind-hearted couple who fell for her golden curls and couldn’t bring themselves to tear her away from her sobbing elder brother - makes him get so much therapy.

That’s probably what makes him decide to become a shrink, really.

And that, in turn, is what leads to -

“- and that’s why I need your help,” Len concludes.

The woman in front of him looks utterly bewildered. Len’s not sure why; he thought he’d been perfectly clear.

“Should I start again?” he offers.

“Please do, mister,” she says, raising a hand up and pinching the bridge of her nose. “No, wait a sec. I gotta few preliminary questions, stating off with how’d you find out where me and Ivy were hanging out, anyways?”

“Really good fertilizer has a higher toxicity rate than normal soil,” Len explains. “I got the last two geological surveys, which Gotham gets with startling regularity; this was the only place that changed. Next question?”

“So that’s how Bats keeps finding us,” she mutters crossly. “Damnit, Ivy.”

“Maybe if you suggested she start a few new gardens each time instead of focusing on just one?”

“She doesn’t want to leave her ‘babies’ alone for that long. Second question: what in hell made you think that finding me ta ask for help was a good idea?”

Len blinks at her. “Why not? I have a problem and I need assistance from a colleague, and - as I said - you have the most expertise in -”

“I’m Harley Quinn, sweetie,” she interrupts. “I’m a supervillain.”

“What, and you stopped having your PhD as a result?”

“I’m pretty sure I’ve had my license revoked,” she says helplessly.

“Don’t mean you got a lobotomy and forgot it all.”

“Fair enough,” Harley says, clearly giving up on convincing him. “So, yeah, start again, I wasn’t listening on account of thinking you was nuts. What’s your issue again? And why am I the best person to help you?”

“Okay,” Len says. He wouldn’t be as good a shrink as he is if he wasn’t patient and willing to go over things multiple times. “I’m a licensed psychiatrist specializing in severe disorders among the criminal population -”

“Same as I was,” Harley agrees.

“Yeah, and also like you, I specialize in self-identified supervillains.”

“Tell me you didn’t get a job at Arkham!” she exclaims, horrified.

“Oh, no, nothing like that,” Len assures her. “I work in Central City.”

“I guess that’s better…”

“Debatable. At least Gotham has an asylum, even if it is Arkham. We just have Iron Heights regular wing and Iron Heights supervillain wing. Not ideal for therapy, even once they’re out.”

“Out?”

“Iron Heights is something of a revolving door,” Len says. “Again, much like Arkham, but more urgent in the exit strategies. Honestly, in my view, it’s all for the best that they get out; most of my patients are definitely not being helped by confinement in a frankly abusive situation by people who don’t understand their particular needs -”

“No kidding,” Harley replies enthusiastically. “Even Arkham doesn’t care, it’s more about tryin’ ta keep ‘em from society than it is about actually taking care of ‘em and trying to make 'em better -”

“Exactly,” Len exclaims, nodding. He knew she’d understand. “The interaction of the superhero culture with the particular neuroses of these individuals results in -”

“- an entirely new pathology, necessitating by definition a different form of treatment -”

“This is why I came to you,” Len says, pleased.

Harley paused, flushing a little. “Well, I guess I do still take somethin’ of an interest. So you treat supervillains?”

“I actually have a rather unorthodox approach,” Len says. “Central City supervillains are often using their supervillainy to work through deep-seated issues - one is dealing with the loss of a younger brother he built much of his identity around, another is a clinical narcissist, yet another is a diagnosed pyromaniac with anxiety issues…”

“Yeah? You getting anywhere with 'em?”

“Actually, yes. In contrast to the traditional approach, which emphasizes care in a clinical setting - one that many of them reject rather, uh, forcefully due to various traumas in their pasts - I’ve taken an alternative approach of working on their issues in their own setting.”

Harley pauses mid-nod. “I know that’s a pretty common technique for patients in regular treatment, mixing with them in their own environments and whatnot,” she says cautiously. “But for these guys - ain’t their own setting supervillainy?”

“It is,” Len says steadily.

Harley holds out a little longer, but he doesn’t elaborate.

“Okay, I’ll bite,” she says. “How’re you treatin’ 'em?”

“They’ve created identities as supervillains, and they want to be recognized as supervillains,” Len explains. “It’s important to them. They form entire coping rituals around it. So I meet with them on their own level, acknowledging and respecting them as supervillains.”

“Won’t that require, uh, you being a super, too?”

Len shrugs. “I explained my approach to the Flash - he’s our local cape - and he’s real reasonable about it. We staged a few fights, couple of thefts -”

“Wait. You’re a supervillain?!”

“Technically I’m just engaging in a police-approved therapeutic roleplay with -”

“What’s your name? Have I heard of ya? Tell me I’ve heard of you!”

“I mean, it’s possible -”

“Alias, now! I’m tired of being the only shrink supervillain.”

“Captain Cold.”

“Holy crap, I have heard of ya! You’re the - oh, man, the Rogues! The Rogues are your patients?”

Len nods.

“How?!”

“I 'rescued’ them from prison. Technically, I’m acting as a guarantee for their parole officers -”

“And ya keep 'em from killing anyone.”

“Exactly. And I work with 'em in the meantime. I’ve made a lot of progress - Pied Piper is actually transitioning to working with the heroes on a regular basis, he’s actually dating a cop now and he’s dealing with his internalized self-hatred in a much healthier way -”

“Nice,” Harley says, offering her hand for a high-five. “That’s much better; if Ivy or Ozzie asks what I was doing, I can just say supervillain meet-up.”

Len frowns. “Are they restricting your access to non-supervillain acquaintances?”

“No, no, nothing like that! We’re just dealing with a small infestation of Owls - don’t worry about it; you don’t want to get involved in Gotham’s shit. No one does. Anyway. Tell me about the problem.”

“It’s not really - he’s not - it’s not a problem, really.”

Harley’s eyebrows go up pointedly and she leans back in her chair, crossing her arms.

“Mick Rory,” Len confesses. “Heatwave, our pyromaniac - diagnosed, as I mentioned, and working with a traditional shrink as well as with me. He’s working real hard on getting better, but it’s tough – it’s a long-standing issue. He’s had the pyromania and anxiety since childhood, and then his parents died in a fire and he got blamed, and then things went downhill from there, so you can imagine the rest.”

Harley nods. “Sounds knotty,” she agrees.

“He’s making plenty of progress, though,” Len assures her.

“So what’s the problem?”

“He’s – well. He’s developed something of a crush on me,” Len admits.

“Ooooh boy.”

“No, it’s - it’s not like that. It’s cute. He tries to stalk me sometimes.”

“Stalking ain’t cute, buddy. Trust me.”

“No, no, nothing like that. It’s, like, he hides behind lampposts. He pretends to be reading a newspaper, like that hides his face at all. Stuff like that, it’s absurd. And if I ever tell him not to follow me, he doesn’t.”

“So you haven’t asked him to knock it off generally?”

Len hesitates.

“Yep, that’s what I thought,” she says. “So lemme stop you right where you are: no. Don’t do it. Falling for a patient isn’t just ethically wrong, it’s - well. It’s a bad idea. Trust me.”

“That’s why I came to you, actually,” Len says. “You being the ultimate expert in HQS and all.”

“HQS?”

Len coughs.

“…tell me that don’t stand for Harley Quinn Syndrome.”

“If you don’t want me to tell you, I won’t. Won’t change it, though.”

“Oh jeez. I can’t believe it. You know, when I wished on my twenty-first birthday candle to go down in the history books, I ought’ve been more specific.”

Len shrugs sympathetically.

“So what do you need advice in? How not to fall for your patient?”

“That,” Len says grimly, “or else I’m gonna need to give you a referral so that he won’t be my patient anymore.”

“Oh, sweetie,” Harley says. “You’ve got it bad.”

“Harls?” Mick says into his phone. “You got a minute?”

“For you, sweetie, definitely,” she says. There’s the ripping sound of duct tape and the yelling in the background turns into muffled shouting. “What’s up?”

“I don’t wanna bug you if you’re doing something else…”

“Nah, no business or nothing. Spa day with the Sirens, fucking up some bad guys, but the girls have got it covered. Talk to me, baby. You sound upset.”

“I think I’ve done it again,” Mick says sadly.

“Gonna have to be more specific, sparky. Lit a serious fire? Went mano-a-mano with the Flash? Decided to blow up a building?”

“I kidnapped Len and moved him into my basement so we could be together forever.”

“Mick!”

“I left the door open, though,” Mick says earnestly. “I didn’t want him feeling confined or nothing.”

Harley face-palms. Mick can hear it. “Well, that’s something,” she says. “You know he loves you, right?”

“I know he thinks he does…”

“That’s just your anxiety talkin’. He’s dating you because he wants to be with you. S’why he referred you ta me. Tell me, did you at least leave him the key, too?”

“What key?”

“…didn’t you lock him up?”

“No! You know how Len feels about being stuck and unable to get out of places.”

“So you kidnapped him, took him to your basement, and…left him there with the door open and not tied up?”

“I made him dinner, too?”

“…you know what? I’m gonna call this progress. Now, I need you to go sit down and write about what your day was like so we can try to identify what led you to this decision…”

Change in Business......

Our day to day has changed in ways that we only once saw in movies, with some of us now literally living in lock down. I can only say to peeps to just try and get on with the little things and where possible, help out your fellow man even if only with a small gesture.

There is only so much you have control over so my 2 cents are just eat well, sleep well and have a little bit of exercise and wash your hands often, dont take any unnecessary risks, check up on family, friends & loved ones.

But I’m not here to put any one on a downer, nope, the Fossa Team are changing business for the next wee while to give you all a light distraction and will be changing up the topic matter for the foreseeable future as Calcio, like a lot of other things, is on the back burner.

One of my fave things apart from Calcio is movies. I’ve been into movies since I was a kid and love pretty much every genre apart from say musicals (but I  dare anyone to tell me Grease isnt amazing!) and today I want to talk about one of my all time faves...Terminator 2!

Now, this might invoke an eye-roll in some of you but allow me the opportunity to try and win you over......

I watched the original Terminator during a family holiday. I have to admit that I was waaaay too young to be watching it and the idea of a near indestructible machine coming to kill you left me with a feeling of dread as a kid.  I grew up the same time Arnie was taking over the world and would later watch Terminator again and again and ended up with the above image pasted to the wall at the end of the bed.

Arnie had gone on to make Predator which signalled that he was a bona fide action star and Total Recall cemented his place as the biggest name in Hollywood, so when it was announced that there was going to be a sequel to the movie that terrified me as kid ,fuuuuuuu#k I was MORE than just ready.

Upon it’s release, me and some of my friends all excitedly went to the local cinema to watch what was THE biggest summer tent pole movie, it wasnt like now with 10′s of films all vying for the top spot in the summer, nope this summer there was only ONE film to watch and this was it and boy did I tell myself that I was going to watch the sh#t out of this!

T2 to me is the definitive action movie and easily my most watched movie ever.

The following clip is one of my many faves from the movie.....

This part of the movie really gets my juices flowing, allow me to break it down, once John Connor runs into the inner corridors of the mall to escape the “Policeman” chasing him down the movie drops into slo-mo as John turns to see the Terminator for the first time, the music changes, even though John has never seen a Terminator before, he knows exactly who that big mean looking mo-fo approaching him is. The music has a constant metal clang now.

Once you see Arnie take the shotgun out of the flower box and walking over the roses, John does a u-turn and goes back the way he just came. If you watch where John is frantically trying a door knob you see the Terminator sweep around the corner with the chase theme. There are two cuts of the same action stitched together, the first has Arnie sweeping around the corner but in the background and the other with him again but this time in close up.

I have to admit that at this part the dread I felt as a kid came surging back, I was squirming in my seat as I genuinely connected with the fear on John’s face in this scene.

At this point we’ve already established that the movie is re-treading the plot of the first film, there is a protector and a terminator. The movie is still early on and all indications are that Arnie is back to cause some carnage. The “other” guy is dressed as a Police officer, it’s being hinted at that he’s the protector. Why am I even telling you this? Because the next scene has the two guys from the future square up to each other with guns drawn and the quarry in the middle with me and everyone in the cinema willing John to run to the guy dressed as the cop?!

You see, this movie came out before we had youtube, before twitter, heck, it was even before the damned internet!  Yup, this scene is where me and my friends begin to think “Wait!? What!?! Is....is Arnie the goodie!?”   We. Lost. Our. Shit! The joy I felt at having the character who once haunted me as one of movies scariest villains transpire to now be the hero was simply mind blowing! What James Cameron did here is probably something that wont get done again to the same affect.

This notion is further cemented by the next clip where Arnie saves John while he’s under attack. Some quick highlights because this post is getting super long: Arnie looking rad as f@#k cocking & shooting the shotgun whilst on the Harley, the music change after Arnie lands the Harley jump, there is a return of the metal clang only this time it’s triumphant. The T1000 walking through the flames after the truck crash, this drew a gasp in the cinema.

In this clip, at the 20 sec mark we once again switch to slowmo as Sarah approaches the elevator but instead she’s greeted by a Terminator, once again he’s sweeping around the corner into view, still menacing even though he’s now the hero. Upon seeing him, Sarah does a u-turn into the path of what she was previously fleeing like John in the earlier clip. Midway through this is where Arnie says “Come with me if you want to live” which is what Kyle Reese (the protector in the first movie) says to Sarah, cementing Arnie’s role as the Protector.

What I also love about this movie is that the level of threat remains the same as it did in the first movie. In the original it was just one solitary human taking on an indestructible machine but in the sequel where Arnie has switched roles he is taking on a vastly superior threat.

Honestly, I could do 6-7 posts about this movie but no one loves this movie as much as I do! I didnt even get to talk about the mini gun sequence f#ck.....!

I dare any one of you to tell me that this movie isn’t perfection! Feel free to nominate something in it’s place as the perfect action movie but expect healthy debate which might spill over into name calling, I promise nothing!
