Car thoughts: have you ever noticed that a villain - like a good, proper villain - seems to almost always hold confidence? I’m talking specifically fictional villains here. It seems to be a key trait in them. They know who they are, they know they have power. They're not timid, they don't back down from a challenge. While they’re not always fully sure of themselves or their abilities, they still exude confidence. When it comes to the hero of the story, they don’t hide their doubts, their fears, their feelings of inadequacy and not good enough. It’s often used against them. But the villain? They mask. They radiate confidence. They refuse to let their enemy see them in an unsure state until the last minute.
They're feared, sure, but more importantly, theyre respected by those around them. I think that's why villain vibes have gotten more popular, especially in gen z and queer spaces. Sure, just needing to vent frustrations to the world is a good reason for it, but the entire aesthetic - the music, the outfits, the attitude - revolves around the confidence to be 100% unapologetically yourself without fear of what others think.
It is a bit odd that we associate that confidence so heavily with villains though, and I feel like that was by design. Similar to the queer coded villains that tried to make being gay or trans look evil. Or all the witches and evil women in earlier movies.

I don't wanna further hijack that poor poll, but the thing about Harrow's schizophrenia is that it's canon. The author has confirmed it, and shared that it's based on her own experience.
It's a pretty obscure bit of canon, so of course there's no shame in not already knowing, but that's why I'm so obnoxiously persistent about letting people know.
Whatever else is up with Harrow, autism or cptsd or any number of likely headcanons, she is also schizophrenic. I feel like that's too important to be handwaved away as a difference of opinion.

Hi! I always thought that Basira was named after Bashir (from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), and that section 31 in TMA was named for Star Trek’s section 31 (especially as Bashir was the character most involved with the section 31 plot in DS9)… can you confirm this? Also, does this mean you’re a Trekkie, or a DS9 fan?
Nope! Well, I am a bit of a trekkie, but hadn't watched enough DS9 at the time to be familiar with Section 31 (I'll always be a Next Gen guy at heart). The whole 'Sectioned' thing is based on the actual real life Section 31 of the Freedom of Information Act, so just a weird coincidence there, and Basira was on a list names I was browsing years ago and really leapt out at me.

Anyway, if I had a nickel for every time a series had six installments that gradually escalated in ridiculousness, only for the sixth installment to end with a universe reboot and the seventh installment to pick up in a new universe where alternate versions of the original characters now exist in the distant past, I'd have two nickels.
One of those series is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The other is Riverdale

I'll honestly still be mourning the ROUND 6 that we could have had. The first sketches where Ivan and Till are hugging... Ivan with his arm around Till's shoulders.... The friendly teasing...
I fully understand why they had to change it, but it's still sad to think about all that we missed out on.

(tearing my hair out)#what if i ARRRRGGHHHHHHH#i always thought the round 6 we got seemed so different from what i was imagining#and knowing how much they changed it. it makes sense#the patreon posts painted a very different picture for me at the time. the sketches in particular gave me hope hahaha#many things ended up different#im still grateful for the teams work#what we got was sadder and more tragic but if its closer to what they envisioned then im glad
