i’ve seen quite a few terrible takes that travic are codependent. they are not codependent. travis and vic were so alone growing up that if they have the choice to not be alone, they’re taking it. vic is and has always been helping travis and his progression through his grief. travis saved her. she tells theo in 4x08 that he’s a part of her. it makes sense that she didn’t want to just leave and not have him around every day. there’s a difference between codependency and just wanting someone, in this case A LIFE PARTNER, around. barrett and jay didn’t fight so hard to give us this endgame just for people to call it codependency. it was genuinely the only endgame that made any sort of sense for them.

really weird to me the way ppl who identify themselves as feminists act about female celebs. like, I saw so many women outright bashing florence pugh because she was dating an older man they considered ugly and acting like it was some attack on them, because then they couldn’t fuck her and she wasn’t dating a woman. there’s women right now hating on sydney sweeney for “being a pair of boobs” as if she intentionally signs up for roles expecting to be treated like nothing but breasts by the director, and it’s not people in charge making creative decisions to purposely turn her into Just Boobs. like. how are y’all feminists if this is how you treat women and view these situations? Something I wish feminists would keep in mind when criticizing religion, especially the Abrahamic faiths, is that before and outside of Judaism/Christianity/Islam, things were Very Very Bad for women. The divorce codes in the Torah are in response to men going through wives without a care in the world and there is a constant stress for the care of widows and orphans - and this all comes from God’s own mouth. Patriarchal society has constantly been pushing against female equality for eons and yes, does rear its unholy head in scripture. But the revelation itself is that we are all in the image of God and equal under God - no slave or free, no male and female.

How we have dealt with that information is where the messiness comes from, not God’s intent for humanity.
