Little reality vs memory/imagination details I love in this scene:

1) The dropping of "Get to know my little brother." Arthur's done that. He knows Orm's irritating flaws and adorable quirks, he knows where their skills work together and where they can fill in the gaps in each other's knowledge, he knows his voice and his face and how it feels to spend time with him from pranking him to protecting him, and he knows how it feels to almost lose him. They haven't actually had much time together, but it's more than they've ever had before and it's enough for Arthur to think I know you

2) The pronoun shift from he/him to you. Related to the previous point, Arthur's little brother was nothing more than a concept to him when they first met, a dream he gave up on a long time ago, so Arthur talked about him like he wasn't there, but now he is real. His little brother is a real, solid, tangible person who's right in front of him, so Arthur is talking to him instead of just talking about him

3) Arthur imagining Atlanna as being happier than she actually was to hug them together for the first time in their lives. In reality, she knew it would be the last time and that she would be sending them off to a dangerous battle when she let go, so it was a bittersweet moment, just as painful as it was joyous. In Arthur's head, though, he knows that he's risking the world to save Orm and he's going to bring him home somehow, so she can smile. She can hold both of her boys and enjoy it because Arthur is going to make sure this is how it is for the rest of their lives

Aquabros truly cannot miss. There is no bad Aquabros dynamic. Observe:

Resentful, selfish, power-obsessed Orm who's in it for the money and the status vs. wise-beyond-his-years Arthur who's doing fine with the king stuff and honestly wants nothing to do with his brother

Cold, tactical, strategic Orm who loves his city and has a vision of making Atlantis a world power vs. some-have-greatness-thrust-upon-them Arthur who's doing his best to be a good king but really wishes he had his brother by his side to help him out

Angry, jaded, disillusioned Orm who can't seem to get over the perceived slight of not being crowned king vs. idiot frat boy Arthur who falls for every single one of Orm's schemes cause he's just too trusting

Every possible combination is a winning combination! It's a good story if they eventually resolve their differences and live as brothers making up for lost time, and it's a good story if they're bitter enemies til the end of time! THEY JUST CAN'T MISS!

Kara solar flares and has to hitch a ride back to National City--gets picked up by the campaign bus from The Girls on the bus.

#1 What would happen?

#2 Who would she sit with?

#3 If her suit is damaged from the fight--who would lend her clothes?

#4 Are any of the girls suspicious that she and Sadie look eerily similar?

#5 Whose phone does she borrow to call Lena?

everyone would be pretty hesitant to let her on the bus at first, given kara isn't one of their reporters. and supergirl can't exactly reveal that she is a reporter for catco, because then she'd be in dangerous territory of revealing her identity. but if she did, I imagine the other reporters would tease her for writing for catco, which wouldn't help her situation.

she would sit with sadie (sadie would probably be the only one willing to sit with her, because she seems like she'd be friendly to a stranger) and that's when everyone is like "woah you guys have the same face"

i assume kara would end up borrowing clothes from sadie, because sadie is exactly her size. logically, it makes the most sense. but I do think it's funny to imagine kara shamefully walking out of the bus bathroom with her head hung low like an embarrassed puppy, wearing one of kimberlyn's pastel pants suits.

i think most everyone would be suspicious that her and Sadie look so similar. whenever I think about sadie and kara interacting (or bodyswapping) i imagine it being a sort of crisis situation (not an actual crisis, but referring to the crossover episodes) where kara gets stuck on another earth, where she doesn't belong.

if it were a 'kara is in the wrong earth' scenario, nobody would know who supergirl is or why kara is dressed the way she is. i could see sadie jokingly going "were you with aquabro?" and kara, not wanting to give too much away, would go "sure...?"

when it comes to sadie and kara being identical, i feel like lola would be doing some kinda side by side of their faces on her phone, showing everyone how freakily similar they are. sadie would be wondering if she accidentally ate a bunch of lola's edibles again, and is on the worst trip of her life. kara, not wanting everyone to discover the multiverse, would be poorly gaslighting everyone, like "whatttt??? we don't look alike at all. i have blonde hair with bangs, she has brown hair with bangs, clearly not the same"

when kara tries to call lena, i could see sadie accidentally handing her the burner phone, and grace snatching it out of kara's hand and going "she didn't mean to do that."

eventually, grace would give kara her own phone to call her, to prevent any further mishaps, but the call wouldn't go through, because as we know from lola losing it - THERE'S NO WIFI!!

Orm for the ask game bc I’m curious 👀

It’s been a minute since I’ve read the New 52 run & Mera: Queen Of Atlantis, but I’ll endeavor to answer for New 52!Orm & DCEU!Orm.

sexuality headcanon: As with the majority of my faves (unless canonically stated otherwise), I headcanon Orm as bi - especially DCEU!Orm.

otp: I am an OrmErin lover. I understand some people like the idea of Orm being forever bound by Orvax’s ideas of duties to Atlantis, but I personally believe in Orm finding happiness and getting to grow as a person. I don’t really ship DCEU!Orm with anyone, but I was hoping to see Orm bump into Erin at that pier. 👀

brotp: DCEU!Orm is easy. I love the aquabros and wish we would’ve had another movie to develop the family dynamic further. I also wanted to see him and Mera become close again. I’m honestly drawing a blank as to anyone that stood by Orm in the New 52 run, but I read Murk broke him out of prison, so probably him.

notp: Any and all incest ships involving Orm. I might not ship some others, but none of them inspire the disgust response as when seeing how many people ship Orm with his brother.

first headcanon that pops into my head: There’s no way he’s neurotypical.

favorite line from this character: As much as I hate what comes after, it really tugs on my heart when New 52!Orm’s response to saving Arthur from a Trench creature is that Arthur’s his king now, too. A favorite DCEU!Orm line is probably his whole speech against the pollution from the surface. Patrick Wilson knows how to work a monologue.

one way in which I relate to this character: I, too, am conflicted (emotionally) and am the baby of my family. I’d also give myself impressive stats compared to my sibling.

thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: It’s not embarrassment exactly, but I groaned when they had Orm double cross Mera and get locked up again. However, that’s on the writers at DC. They refuse to let him be happy. DCEU!Orm’s earlier attempts at running were more cute than embarrassing, so…

cinnamon roll or problematic fave?: problematic fave, but he also did nothing wrong (okay, maybe DCEU!Orm a little bit) ��🏻‍♂️
