Prince Red AU: Disciple Route

going with "Disciple Route" as the name for this au idea at least until I or someone else thinks up a better alternative. as the title implies this is a bad route for @purble-turble's Prince Red Au, though not exactly a DKR route. I personally feel like Prince Red isn't insane enough delusional in the same way as DKR. I also don't think he is really acting as a Yandere, but that is highly debatable and anyone is free to disagree with me on that point. strongly suggest looking into Purble-Turble's AU for more background context on the Prince Red AU and how we got here. ***** to summarize the core idea of the plot: Prince Red decided to take in Mk as a disciple believing that he could "fix" his self-destructive nature using the same teachings and methods used on him as a child. this includes the five gold bands that were used to restrain and subdue red in his early years. his friends and fellow disciples are brought in on the plan as educators as well. however Red still overlooks their clear bias and dislike of the monkey kid, which leads to a lot of mistreatment that worsens over time. there are two ways currently discussed how this route could kick off, but the one I like best is where Prince Red successfully wins back Mk from Nezha. only to then quickly realize that it was a bad idea on his part. the whole reason he called things off with mk is because of the events of S5 and Mk's mindset. which is still the same if not worse now because Nezha encouraged his self-sacrificing tendencies (due to the lotus prince also suffering strongly from this unhealthy mindset). Red has effectively put himself into a troubling situation, as mk's breakup with Nezha had a huge emotional toll on both. Nezha was understandably heartbroken and has disappeared for the time being and Mk naturally was already carrying a lot of guilt. doesn't help that his friends and family expressed disappointment in how he handled things. the boy is in a very bad state of mind again so Red has to be careful how he handles things going forward. but things can't stay as they are, and they can't go back to how they were, not yet, not until mk fixes himself....or maybe he could fix mk? ***** THERE'S GONNA BE MORE TO THIS I'm working on more details, I'm just starting with this basic summary because I'm super anxious about doing this and overthinking a lot of my writing and formatting. which has me procrastinating on it like a mfer. so if I don't post this much I'm probably gonna overthink myself into just not doing it at all. Anxiety is such fun.

From somewhere between the Charms and Magical Creatures section of the library, Felix appeared with a soft smile and a little box tucked under his arm as he made his way towards the familiar hunched figure buried behind a tower of books.

"Thought I'd find you here," he said in a low voice so as not to disturb the other students, setting the box down beside the stack of books. "You've been studying for ages, haven't you?"

With a flick of his fingers, the Ravenclaw flipped the lid open to reveal a few freshly baked honey-oat biscuits.

"For you. Brain food," he added warmly, ruffling the younger boy's hair with a gentle pat before taking a seat nearby, content to stay for a moment if needed.

I'm wondering, AK!Jason managed to open himself up and get a lover, he finally let his walls crumble and let himself love and be loved.

Somehow his s/o managed to trigger his trauma accidentally, as if they said something that turned the domestic atmosphere back into the black and eerie ambience of Arkham or maybe an action of his s/o resembled a lot like the Joker's, Harley's or the rogues who beat him up.

How would AK!Jason react?

Jay unfortunately has a lot of triggers, so this happens more often than his s/o would like 😞 He'll try to flee before his panic overwhelms him—he despises when others see his "weakness", especially his s/o. But sometimes the trauma response is too strong, and he'll crumble to the floor right then and there, shaking like a leaf, clutching at his chest, gasping for breath on the verge of hyperventilating, unbidden tears clinging to his thick black lashes.

His s/o has learned what to do in this situation. You'll kneel down beside him, speaking softly to him, words of reassurance: "This will pass... they always pass, remember?... you're safe here... I'm with you... I'm not going anywhere... deep breaths, in... and out... again... can you tell me five things you can touch?... good, that's good baby... now, four things you can hear... three things you can smell... two things you can taste... you're doing so good baby... the darkness is receding, you'll see the light again soon, I swear... can you open your eyes for me?... see, I'm here with you, no one will ever hurt you again..."

All the while you'll take his scarred fist in your own hands and massage his gnarled knuckles until his fingers unfurl, then you'll press his calloused palm against your heart, grounding him with your calm heartbeat, with the steady rise and fall of your chest as you breathe softly, until finally he accepts the warmth of your embrace, tucking his head beneath your chin as his breathing slows, so you can drop tender kisses into his mop of unruly black hair while he clings to you, in the reassuring safety of your embrace 💙

I love making corned beef and cabbage for St Patrick's Day!!! It's so easy. I put all the ingredients into my crock pot, season them, and turn it on low in the morning, and then at dinner time, I lift the lid, and I serve a lovely dinner. Easy peasy!! And it's delicious 😋 😍 And I have leftovers for tomorrow!!! I either eat the same thing again or I make corned beef sandwiches or ruebens!! Well, I gotta go because I've made myself very hungry talking about this food!! 😅 😁😍
