Oh my gosh it’s been sooo long since anyone’s brought up Amnesia MK 😂 For the unfamiliar: this AU is one where Red Son kidnaps MK but is a little too rough and bonks him on the head, accidentally giving him amnesia. MK, with no memories in that head of his, is convinced that Red Son is his husband and they’re on their honey moon. Of course, this isn’t quite what Red Son anticipated because now he’s wracked with paranoia about MK possibly remembering and realizing he’s been lied to all this time.

I don't think I ever posted these? Sorry for the repost if I did. Here are the newest outfits for Monkie Queen Red and MKing!

I've officially laid down what I want the basis of the AU to be & gotten it worked out up to their marriage. Past that, I don't know. That's why I've never done anything proper with this AU, because like... What's the story once they're married, lmao?

"The Prince's Disciple AU" (aka Disciple route AU)

(sounded weirdly romantic to me somehow so I figured why not.) The Deal: Although hesitant, Mk agreed to live in The Flaming Mountains Monastery as part of a deal he made with Prince Red; who insisted he helps mk work on himself before they fully resumed their relationship. it sounded simple enough. join the Monastery for at least half a year as one of his disciples, then they would officially get back together and work on their relationship.

of course, Red made sure to explain that Mk would be in a much stricter environment, and be given the same treatment and expectations as any other new disciple. he had to take the rules, routines, and teachings seriously, failing to do chores or tasks or being late wouldn't be tolerated... also, he'd only be allowed to bring a few approved keepsakes from home, anything else like clothes would be provided. no cellphone or other outside tech unfortunately. and leaving the premises was forbidden unless he was accompanied.

Mk was, understandably, really unsure about it.(especially the phone thing and not being able to leave the grounds...mean that probably just meant he couldn't wander off. which was fair. it was still in a dangerous area beyond the walls.) but could he really say no? after hurting Nezha as he did? Gods if he couldn't make things work with red, then that would have been for nothing, and....he'd be alone then... it...probably wouldn't be that bad, mean yeah it'll be strict and he'll have to be around Red's asshole friends all the time. but maybe they'll chill out if he's one of them. And Red will be there, he'd still surely make sure that mk was ok and would listen to anything he had to say... yeah. it'll be fine. It was Red after all, he'd never let anything bad happen... yet as they go to tell his friends and dads the news mk can ignore the sinking feeling in his gut.

Their son's enraged voice echoed off the walls of the palace. The nobles all winced, clearly showcasing the fear that gripped them all. Fear was good as a king. It meant that people knew better than to try you.

It was the opposite when it came to the young man gripping his wife's shoulder tight, staring at Red Son with wide eyes. DBK was almost sick at his pale face, at how subtly he flinched. In this nightmare world, his granddaughter struggled against the Little Thief's hold, clearly uncomfortable with the tense atmosphere, but he did not set her down. The little baby did not struggle either and DBK was willing to bet that the Little Thief would be even less unlikely to set him down.

If he did, then this would be the end.

"You are a good son," he said. The nausea stirred even harder at how his son- no, not his son, barely his son perked up. It was a twisted reflection of how his son lit up at any hint of praise, any sign of approval. How long had Red Son been starved of that? No, he needed to focus. "But you are not a good father to your children. Nor are you a good husband to your mate."

At first, it seemed like he was.

When he and his wife had been sent to this strange future, a future where they had fallen, their son had met them. He had continued on their work, rebuilding the shabby remains of a court into something grand. DBK had not been surprised. He had always known that his son would be a wonderful king.

What had surprised him were his grandchildren.

At first, that had been wonderful.

DBK had always wanted a home full of children, resembling the beauty and grace that was Iron Fan. When misfortune had rendered Iron Fan with only one child, his perfect little son, he had turned his hopes to grandchildren. He had never even imagined a world where he didn't get to see them.

Here, he hadn't, but there they were: a perfect little calf princess and a tiny monkey babe. He could've done without the Little Thief, but that hadn't mattered as much, not when he was holding his grandchildren!

Not until Iron Fan had pointed out things that led to a horrifying truth.

Now, he stared down at a person he could not recognize.

His son would never do the things this man had done to his children and husband.

That man was staring at him as though DBK had spit on him and torn his nice hanfu. His jaw was dropped and his (blank, empty) eyes were wide and horrified.

"And we're leaving," Iron Fan's voice rose. "We are taking Qi Xiaotian and his children to a safe place before we come and deal with you. You are clearly unwell-"

A fireball shot down the hall. DBK dodged, feeling the heat as it sailed by. The Little Thief let out a shocked scream. The fireball had been directly aimed away from them, DBK noted absently, his heart racing. The person who had launched it stared at them.

His eyes were still empty.

"It seems like I have a pair of cuckoos in my castle," the man who claimed to be their son hissed, a manic grin twisting his lips. It was too wide, showing too many teeth. "And they think they can expose my family, my darling... The Little Thief flinched. "To the outside world?"

His hands lit up in flames.

"Don't do this," DBK warned. "Don't even think of attacking us."

The man's head lolled back, his smile growing even wider. It looked like his words hadn't even registered.

"Too bad."

Hello, I'm glad you opened the request box. I'm so interested in the Time Travel au that I thought if Time Travel Red Son was a yandere and wanted to protect MK alone, I'd love to see that drawing.

This is a unique sort of challenge, since Time Travel Red Son is so explicitly afraid of becoming like Demon King Red, who is a super duper Yandere, that it can only mean something has gone terribly wrong in this timeline and TT Red has all but snapped and become just like the king! And so, I figured he’d start where the king himself did in his downward spiral to madness: with the tightening fillet.

So... A post season five Prince MK take, huh?

Based on this idea, specifically that MK made a plea deal to marry King Red in exchange for his friends and family to live. (this was also during a raid that, at this point, MK thought he could handle. And it was to break TT Red out (he'd never tell him that's why it'd crush him) since he had gotten sent to this timeline, which ended up backfiring... VERY BADLY)

King Red accepted, but promptly locked up everyone in the dungeon and fully did the marriage.

Good news... MK isn't fully dead inside. Bad news, he's still trapped. And now... He's growing a bit too unstable.

I actually have two questions about your monkie queen au, sorry!

1: I was wondering what would happen if Redson unintentionally broke the rules

For example, if Redson woke up from a nightmare screaming/crying (because trauma) or if he got hurt and reacted loudly because of it, what would happen?

Would he still be punished for being loud, or comforted for being hurt/scared? Maybe he'd be comforted first but punished later since he still broke the rules, and what would that punishment be?

I was curious about how it would be dealt with in comparison to the other rules being broke because in these scenarios Redson didn't intentionally/try to break any rules, it was just a natural reaction to something bad happening.

Idk, I just thought that certain punishments being different depending on the circumstances was interesting and got curious?  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2: (which is a completely unrelated question to the first) assuming 'it' also effects MK's clones, does that mean they're somehow even more unhinged than in canon? Does MK summon them often to keep an eye on Redson while he's busy or away doing.. King stuff, ig??

How do they treat Redson; like do they actively try to make him do things (party, if the porty clone is watching him. Pose for portraits if the artist clone is watching him, etc?) Or do they just kinda make sure he stays in one area and hover around him to make sure he doesn't get hurt/try to leave?

1) It's been quite a while since Red was punished for a nightmare.

It used to happen all the time; when he would wake up screaming and crying, clawing for safety from the beast he shares a bed with. And in those moments, MK, yes, MK, would comfort him. He knew it was MK from the cautious, confused, but not frantic comforting, the quiet laughter as he asked Red, "What's happening, guy? Did you have a really bad nightmare? I used to get those. Come here, Red. C'mere."

But then, after all the tears kissed away and the quiet stories to make him laugh, MK would slip out of his hands again like the dying embers of his own magic. And the King was back. They're not different people, that's not what Red is saying, but MK is MKing unburdened by It. And It... It was never happy with Red's outbursts.

Outbursts in their bed would be punished by banishing him from it, locking Red in 'His Room'. Red hates His Room, that prison It kept him in.

2) MKing doesn't use his clones because It affects his clones. They get mean and vicious without anything to hold them back, or just poof into black dust on . Luckily, they've never been around Red.

(If, in some hellish world, Red was stuck with them, he would be forced to help them in their interests for certain. He'd honestly... enjoy it a bit more than he should've, he'd just like having something to do, would like having eyes on him that are consistent.)
