unfortunately the two means we have of setting up systems which constrain behavior without intervention are microeconomics and cryptography. so basically i spent my entire childhood dreaming of crypto while bitcoin was just a gleam in the eye of satoshi. i avoided being a terminal crypto guy by 4 years at most. i can say with 100% certainty that if i didn't personally witness the entire scene get taken over by idiots who think token price go up is a good thing to optimize for before i was able to join in id have been there. that's why i love sbf. it could have been me trying to make super weird new derivatives with the power of crypto. it could have been me

Fun fact? While I spend a fair amount of time since I came out wishing that I'd always been viewed as a guy and didn't have to do this whole trans thing to be a man(tm), if I actually had been raised as a boy, I'm appalingly sure I'd've been a proper MRA/incel/PUA shithead at some point. And who knows what else after that.

Since I always secretly identified with the dudes around me (although I wasn't clever or informed enough to understand why, lol), when The Game and all that stuff was big, I went out and bought the book. I didn't have much of a social life (because I was trans and didn't know it, and gay and didn't know it, and also had ADHD and didn't know it), I certainly didn't have a love life, and I just felt like something was Wrong all the time (because all of the above). So I read The Game and was like, "Hmm. This seems to work for these guys who seem to be sort of hopeless cases like me."

What made me realise it was actually toxic AF was that I had been raised as a girl and still thought I was a girl (if a really weird one), and it struck me that all those things they said held true for all women weren't true for me or any of the girls I knew, and that if a man were to treat me like they did, I would feel horrible.

Does that mean I'm a bad person without empathy? I mean, I just said I never would've realised an obviously shitty thing was shitty if it hadn't had the potential to affect me personally. So idk, maybe? But also, realising that was the only thing (or the main thing) that stopped me from falling in with literal eugenicists who literally murder people means I look at things more critically now, especially if I'm in a position where I feel left out and hopeless, and some social movement seems really tempting to me. I'm probably making stupid choices all the time, but at least I'm constantly making an effort not to stumble into the next shiny new flavour of fascism, and I've decided that has to count for something.

I've stared at those photos in Sam's office for longer than I care to admit trying to figure out what all of them are (I apparently have bad eyesight) and i thought that's what they were, I'm glad to have it confirmed! They are most definitely together after threads.

Also, about the 'fishing' password, I don't think Sam had ever been fishing before she went with Jack, Daniel, and Teal'c. And fishing is Jack's thing. Why else would she have her password as that?

Although the relationship between Samantha Carter and Jack O'Neill has never been officially confirmed, it has been hinted at in both SG-1 and SGA, as well as in interviews with writers, producers, and cast members.

Joe Mallozzi (producer) said in this blog post

“Jack and Sam could have gotten together after Jack’s retirement, but it was never made canon because, quite frankly, it wasn’t my call. Still, despite the lack of official confirmation, it was only natural that they should get together after the events of Threads and, in my mind, they have been together ever since.”

If, for some reason, you don’t think that they got together, here’s a big list of reasons why, as soon as they possibly could after the frat regs that had been keeping them apart for so long no longer affected them, they finally managed to have a proper romantic relationship, as well as some proof that was slipped in to SGA and SG-1 when they did.

I’ve tried to take my ship goggles off for this, and to only pick out moments that objectively show the relationship between Sam and Jack (and have, in doing so, had to miss a few of my favourite episodes off the list!), but despite that there’s still a hell of a lot of support for this perfect ship.

The one thing about being in your 30s that no one tells you about is the sudden realization that most of the people whose writing and acting you consume are either about your age or younger than you.
