i wanna start tonight’s postgame by saying that i cannot express how proud i am of this team! my boys, my closest friends. you ended the regular season tonight by breaking the franchise record tonight for most wins in a single season! 52 wins, baby! and breaking the record for best single season turnaround in the NHL since the league switched to the 82 game schedule with a +49 point difference! you guys are the most talented, most hardworking, and most dedicated team of people that i’ve had the privilege of meeting.

we ended this game with an overtime win, 5-4! it may have been a hard start, but you turned it around in the 3rd!

we got TWO goals by uncle u-haula tonight! a tip-in by sheriff woody! and a goal by dj dougie-h! so proud of you guys!

lukey got his very first NHL point tonight with an assist on erik’s first goal of the night and i can confirm that i shed a few tears. my pretty baby also made his 98th point tonight with an assist on haulaback girl’s second goal of the night!

however, most importantly, lukey, my smush, got his very first NHL goal tonight with the game winning goal! which was the catalyst that got us that franchise record breaking 52nd win. AND he did it with an assist from his big brother, my bubs, jacky! making lil jizzy end this season with NINETY-NINE points!

i am so proud of you, smush! you played SO well tonight and i can’t wait to see you continue to take ass and kick names! i’m so proud to be your figurative (and hopefully eventually real) big sister <3

currently rotating rose red around in my brain so here's some outfits i designed for her (this is pre-meeting cinders btw)! bonus design notes under the cut :3

nude

i knew immediately that i wanted rose to be short and built like a brick shithouse. she is dense and compact and impossible to knock over. also, she gets to be a bear girl because everyone in my ouatis au is an animal eared person. its a fun concept i saw trawling the tumblr tag and i have decided it is very canon.

absolutely covered in freckles

yes those are top surgery scars. very recent in fact! its a cross between unrealized gender things and the pain of breasts that are just. too big. always.

her tail is usually too small to be seen from this angle but i wanted to show off her tiny red puff

most of her scars are from military combat with the exception of the top surgery scars and the one on her left hand which came from when she punched a window at the age of 15 defending snow from one of their dads getting super duper upset b/c snow was starting to date

she is 4'10" and so proud of it. will kick your ass if you're a dick about it

pajamas

nothing much to say here, she just. doesn't care all that much. tank top and sweat pants are the perfect combo of temperatures for her.

also she wears heart patterned boxers and we love her for that

military work uniform

do you know how hard it is to design a military uniform when you don't usually give a shit about the military. i spend so many hours going down worldbuilding subreddits and forums before i figured out something i was happy with. anyways! this is a non-combative officer's work uniform (aka the uniform rose wore when she was commander of the prison cinders was in). i picked red because it's the color most strongly associated with cole's army, but i figure that soldiers in combat would have better camouflage built into their uniforms.

the patch on her left shoulder (the one with the deer) is the symbol for colonel. it's also mirrored on a smaller scale on her breast. cole's army uses animals to mark higher ranks

the other shoulder patch marks her current assignment

i liked white as an accent color because of its prevalence in the album. also it looks nice!

the sleeve stripes and the chevrons both indicate that she is a very important officer

the other patches on her breast are the simplified coat of arms for her noble house (the house of grimm) and all of the medals she has earned in her 11 years of service

military dress uniform

the fancy version of her uniform for Events and Public Appearances. it's a bit darker in tone for the sake of visual interest and has a lot more accessories. this one was a nightmare to color i stg but i'm super happy with the way it turned out.

you get to see all her medals! she has complicated feelings on them but they are shiny and look very nice so.

the stripes, chevrons, and deer are all the same as the work uniform for some easy visual shorthand of her rank

the only time rose will ever wear a tie or any other neck decoration because it's regulation.

i liked the way a black undershirt looked over a white one, no other reason lol

the bear medal is because the bear is a symbol of her noble family. most people have a cougar of some sort instead.

the sword and the lion are both special awards granted specifically by cole. the lion in particular came from her first deployment where she accidentally changed the tides on the invasion of the perrault (cinders' planet) and became a war hero/propaganda piece at 19

the boots have buckles. they are never quite tight enough and its annoying.

casual dress

off duty, rose wears crisp, well tailored masc outfits. she knows how to dress herself to look effortlessly important due to being raised noble but she doesn't think too hard about it.

she wears shorts instead of full pants whenever she can get away with it. snow hates this.

no she is not buttoning up all the way. why would you make her put this much effort into it. she's hotter with it undone

fun fact: i initially made her vest and shorts green but i decided that blue looked nicer

fancy dress

i've elected to go with a 1700s inspired look for the nobility. it's very fairytale-esque and also allows me to have fun with it! i wanted to do more embroidery, but i wound up not having the patience for such a thing. ah well, what i've got looks nice enough.

rose usually wears cool colors in her formal outfits. this purple is a particular favorite of hers because it goes really nicely with her hair and ears without being obnoxious

once again, rose out here avoiding any sort of neck accessory or hat. accessories that annoy her for $10,000

the lilac undershirt is not connected to the off-white trousers it's two separate pieces.

the gold accents cut a very striking figure and also look very pretty <3

the boots are supposed to be longer and pointier but idk how well i pulled that off aha

she's very handsome and i love her

What’s a headcanon you can’t stop thinking about?

creative mickey! the best thing season 10 gave us was mickey and his notebook. i just know when Ian sees that thing come out post canon a part of him locks up in genuine fear

i don’t really think he gets into art persay, but just being a creative thinker, figuring out how to run their business, decorating their apartment, building ian a garden on their balcony when he gets put on the waitlist for the community garden

What’s an idea you’d love to create if you had the time/inspiration?

so I had this idea very vaguely floating around in my head for a while, but it wasn’t even remotely formed, let alone developed and then suddenly last weekend the plot just came to me in that beautiful and cruel way inspiration comes and goes, but it will take forever to write because I want the pace to feel very slow and syrupy and a little dream (or nightmare) like.

i dont want to give away the plot but its very southern gothic, slight true crime elements, cults, slight age difference (younger Mickey)… anyways if anyone from the rural south wants to be on call to explain geography and culture to me, hit me up 

i also have an idea for a dirty filthy, nasty smut fic but i would have to post it anonymously i wouldnt be able to look anyone in the (virtual) eyes

What’s something you’ve discovered since entering this fandom? A new trope you love? A different analysis of the show? Something else?

in all seriousness, analyzing Shameless as a show overall is so interesting, understanding each of the characters as case studies in different particular expressions of being raised in poverty, which is what makes it twice as upsetting when someone is like, ‘why would this character do this, thats so stupid’ and the answer is that statically speaking that character was actually very likely to do that because of the circumstances they were born into and the way they’ve been affected by that throughout their life, but okay. I also noticed that a lot of people on here are not from America and I always wonder what their take on the social/political reading of the show, if it feels familiar at all etc.. 

i also remember the first time someone commented under my fic to be like, ‘why are you giving Mickey a pass Ian did this’, and someone else commented underneath that ‘oh well Mickey did that so he’s a bad person etc.’ and it was just so upsetting to me, I dont see a lot of that on my dash but I just personally believe that if you are judging teenagers/young adults who are in the middle of their first major mental health crisis or who have suffered unimaginable abuse and neglect their entire life, you need to recalibrate your empathy levels 

What’s your favourite season? And has this changed after multiple rewatches of the show?

I love love early seasons (1-3) there is just something so nostalgic about it and as a show that’s when the writing was at its most creative and interestingly paced

also the fact that kevin had a son with v’s mom and just, has no interest in a relationship with him? like that made the story easier for sure but it doesn’t make sense with his character

What scene or moment do you feel isn’t discussed enough?

guys, there is not a scene in this show that we have not done to death already (affectionate)

and you know what? we’ll do it again!

but just for the sake of it, the “would you take care of me if i was paralyzed” scene, you can see that Mickey is almost idk, hesitant? but that’s because he’s really picturing it and that his yes is genuine and thought out, and ian’s face of wonder when he realizes that he has someone who loves him unconditionally and forever? earth shattering

What do you think is next for Ian and Mickey post-finale?

listen, i think the laws of television writers being assholes would dictate that they would give a break up (and maybe reconciliation) arc which is my least favorite television trope

but irl? (u know what i mean) i think they do have some hard, stressful times both out of their relationships and in it and realize pretty quickly that they have to work as a team and lean on each other and it only makes them closer

i also think that they simply refuse to sleep without each other, like one night when Ian gets stuck at the gallagher house taking care of sick franny mickey will drive over and sleep in the twin bed with him or if mickey gets wasted on a night out with sandy and debbie and his battery runs out he’ll stumble his ass home instead of going with one of them when they offer even if it takes forever

and ian grows his hair and stubble out to look like it does in the most recent photos (fluffy mullet) and mickey adores it he can’t keep his hands off his husbands head it’s a sensory dream

this question is so vague. especially for fanfiction aka The Trope Factory. god i guess the one i hate the most is when a character drugs someones drink to make them go to sleep? it pisses me off so much. you just drugged someone its a complete disregard for bodily autonomy and its always played as cute and quirky and "for their own good" as though that phrase isnt a minefield in and of itself i stg. if it was acknowledged as even just taboo i would be less pissed about it but its not. medical autonomy is dead i guess

16. you cant understand why so many people like this (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)

legacy names. i get why the company likes it: comics sell almost entirely on brand recognition these days so its important to keep those titles—but fandom? aliases have such incredible potential for individuality, they can be hints for themes for characterization for goals and dreams and distinction, and instead ppl are constantly talking about who should get what name like its a dress labled one-size-fits all

Yeah, that specific line rubbed me the wrong way too!! (first time I heard it, I raised both middle fingers towards my PC, lol)

b/c it doesn't sound like: 'oh, it's psychological, it's a tiny mental block that you need to get past--' I--what? no, shut up. it SOUNDS like: 'it's psychological; it's all in your head; it's a stupid hang-up; get over it and just eat the good food like the rest of us 'normal,' not-crazy people.'

"just get over it, it's good," "it's a Herb, just eat it; it's fine." (stg, I wanted to grab him by the lapels and shake him, I was so damn upset at that dismissive tone.) "Just eat it," he says, as if it's just that easy; as if it's just that simple.

And I TRIED to write this off and give him the benefit of the doubt, and say that I suspected that "he hasn't come across someone neurodivergent, and that he's talking about some people who turn up their nose at a food just because it has an ingredient that they've decided that they will never eat…" Y'know? I wanted to be fair and give this stranger some grace for some reason idk I'm too soft sometimes.

At the time, when I first saw this (when this interview originally dropped, back around July 1st or 2nd), I tried venting my pain in my discord group about this, and just why it had triggered me so badly.

The response? I was gently dismissed by people who told me that he was just joking, and he's talked about not liking the texture of organ meats, so he understands that stuff, he was just being funny, ha ha, "rrrrroast you a chicken." And I was also slapped down (not really, but the comment was so written so 'directly' that it could be felt that way; which I did) by someone who said that he's also neurodivergent, since he has dyslexia. (a fact that I had NEVER heard of, up until that point; nowhere on the internet, nowhere on the discord chat history, not on what posts on here that I could see; nothing. According to someone, he's talked about this a lot, but I've still never heard him speak of it or read him talking about it. Not once.)

And NO ONE ELSE was making a big deal about this (aside from every person who piped up in the tags about how cilantro tastes like soap to them, but that was all that was said aside from a stray tag here and there about 'yeah he wouldn't like me, I'm a picky eater')--at least, nothing along the lines that you've described above.

and I felt like I was going insane.

so thank you, thank you, thank you for submitting this (and thank you Paloma for responding to them, lol), it's really comforting to know that I wasn't alone.

Omg 🫥. I do.... sometimes. I really, really love comments, and I need to be better about responding to them! It's a mixture of social anxiety and savoring them that leads me to not responding, and then I wonder if it's too late to respond, and then they stack up, and then I'm anxious over how many there are and I just.... never repsond. i try to repsond to at least some of the, but I'm very anxious about how many unresponded comments I have. (My inbox currently sits at 1136, and I've cleared it out before.)

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Dusk. However, i have 2 more in the works that (assuming I ever finish them) may be worse.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Most of my fics have a happy ending, so I'm not sure what the MOST happy ending was. Maybe Save the Groom? I can't imagine STG James being any happier than he is in that epilogue.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Occasionally. It's rarely hate but I do occasionally get dissatisfaction, like "i don't like the way you ended this" or "I read the side along you wrote and I'm no longer interested in the main story" which is weird to get.

9. Do you write smut. If so, what kind?

Lol, yes, and.... all kinds? Honestly, what does that mean. I've written MM, MF, and FF. Also Multi (though mostly MMM+). I've also written both vanilla and kink?

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

NOPE. Not something that really interests me, tbh.

Not that I'm aware of, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I've had a couple of people ask, but no one who has delivered on it. or at least no one who tagged me the way I asked them to if they did it.

Yes, a few! I'm actually very fond of cowriting. Quietlemonhush and I have been working on cowriting more, and I adore working with him.

I'm not ready to call anything that's posted now and a WIP abandoned (though I know I occasionally get comments calling things abandoned). I think it's probably unlikely that I ever write my Voldy Wins AU at this point because I've been sitting on it for 2 years at this point, but it was never posted.

Worldbuilding and tension building, I think.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done it before, and I'm not a huge fan, tbh. I probably won't do it again unless I have a cowriter who is fluent. It's a pain if you don't know the language, and there's no way to really build the dialogue as you would in a language you know.

I liked this post (mainly bc someone reblogged it with “art school” in the tags since I can relate) but I stg there are so many insufferable people in the notes. Sad how many of them admit that going to college transformed them into leftists/socialists/communists. And a lot of them act like they’re still teens in their rebellious phase by supporting poisonous ideologies just to piss off their parents (which is also sad).

It’s also annoying how so many of them equate conservatives to being homophobes/transphobes when there are a decent amount of conservative LGBT people out there. These kids all seem to need therapy tbh.

It’s so funny bc I’m nearly done with my art degree and I’m more rightwing than ever. That is to say, some of my opinions are more right leaning than they were four years ago.

That's one of my biggest issues is the way people talk about toyoko kids, so many people completely disregard the real gravity of the situation and the way some people talk about them you wouldn't even get a basic idea of the VERY REAL mental suffering a lot of them are enduring.

Last book read: I cannot tell you the last time I've read an actual genuine book. Which isn't to say that I don't like reading, I just haven't had convenient/easy access to a range of books in awhile 😔

Last movie: Descendants 3 (I never watched it when it came out, it gave off Bad (Quality) Vibes. A reaction channel I watch started goin through the Descendants movies, I realized I should at least watch the 3rd one so I know what's going on when the reactor goes to watch it. that was a mistake this was the worst Descendants movie oh my god-)

Last show: Bridgerton Season 3 (honestly was disappointed in this last season, they did Penelope and Collin dirtyyyyy)

Sweet/savory/spicy: I tend to lean towards savory stuff for the most part. I do enjoy spicy stuff here and there, but it will absolutely make me sniffley. I like sweets too but typically in the form of something gummy (and occasionally covered in sour sugar stuff). I find it hard to have baked sweets, I strangely have to be actively craving it to be able to stomach it most times.

Relationship status: Single, and pretty content about it rn. my last relationship (that was also my first) was a total disaster that only lasted 5 months, and its put me off to the idea of re-entering the dating scene anytime soon. I'm much happier being by myself or spending time with my friends 😌

Miracrabs do love making minor inconveniences their real struggles in life. They the type to be able to defeat the final boss countlessly but they would collapse facing a common enemy in practice mode that rarely appears in the game. I’m almost curious how they survive in real life.

Maririding is a big epidemic for the miracustankdom. Seems a lot only accept when Adrien and Alya subjugate themselves completely to the supreme order or they Cat Walker into the collective populous’ or hotshots' interests. They are bored or just want to find or make up excuses to fume upon the two and hold onto it, just because they didn’t function as they wanted them to.

They’re kind of funny forsaking the two, all because they want them to do only what they think they should only in this specific way into to. If Adrien or Alya were to react different from what some watchers collectively seen or the duo had another different perspectives from them, miracumsocks still would collapse. They talk about how they want something different but they really just want same old apples permanently instead of pears and possible other fruits. They don’t want fruits at all, only this one, this way, this shape and form.

Seems as long as they do not align to their status quo of how the believe things should go, they still would be rather ugly to the two still. Surely have a strange lust for attacking characters they see as weaker or easy targets. Probably because they feel like it or because they are who they are or what they are. Just because it’s them. It’s likely they would find another character to scapegoat if either didn’t exist. It’s a twisted form of worshipping the two.

Speaking of projecting, such peeps are really lame. They have seen episodes in their face why projecting too much is bad and what it leads to. Instead, such scuds have related heavily to the projecting will or absorbed into their being and spread it all around. Appears they use it as a mask of righteousness or somethings. Believing they accomplished something. Think they found a solution but they would still end up repeating the cycle. Just as they’ve been doing for years to almost a decade.

Sucks they don’t understand what Adrien’s been through (and still unfortunately is going through). Strange scales they use against him or induce invalid equalization to bring him down.

They sure like being choosey when to be offended and when to completely brush it off as rubbish or making out to be it’s this one’s fault when it clearly shows it’s not. Disturbing points of distortion of what they’ve seen and known, inorder to fit how they wished it did (and unfortunately many followed that way as truth).

A lot of times people saying bad writing seems more like an escape term used just because they fumed over things not going the collective way and others agree upon like mindless mobs. They also use it when defending a character clearly in the wrong or be like ah I blame the writers but if it was another character, it open fire (and strangely may include if they are in the right) It’s all they can hold onto. Kind of like flaw finders that want to suddenly hate found flaw. Maybe they are badly written & wish to continue that for themselves.

god it's so uncomfortable how people treat you when you let them know you're nonverbal/semiverbal. i had my roomie call my professor with me and kinda be my voice and they said i was struggling to speak (i was only able to get out a weak "h-h-h- i" to prove it was me and it was so painful) they said "oh my god im so sorry" and it was so uncomfortable. they treated it like "oh you poor thing :(" even after we said it was fine and it happens and it was so weird and seemed like they thought it was horrific? i hate the pity reaction so much.

i haven't been able to speak for a few weeks and it's perfectly chill. i don't mind it at all and i just use my aac if i need/want to say something. if anything it's just mildly inconvenient? because i can't answer phone calls without help and i get weird looks from the grocery store employees but that's... about it?

please stop treating disabled people like it's a tragedy that they're different. i just need patience and understanding, not pity and apologizes. i do not think it's sad that i struggle to speak or am slow. yeah, it's tough to be in a world not made for you, but that doesn't mean it's awful. im proud of who i am and don't want pity for being myself.
