Going through a straight up comical amount of irritating situations to get the stupid 4* guaranteed ticket from the welcome to sekai campaign. It Will Be Mine.

#I’m resuming this tomorrow it’s been hours now I’m just mad #I’m home because my parents are moving to a different state and I needed to pack whatever was left #and for some reason we just keep old devices when we’re done with them #so I borrow an adapter to allow me to connect my ancient unworking iPad mini to my laptop #factory reset it. i have to reset an old email to access the old Apple id to fully reset it.#it won’t connect to the wifi so I have to reset the settings. i find out it’s too old to run pjsk.#i find an old phone that should work. i reset it as well. I’m able to download pjsk & it takes 20 minutes.#pjsk crashes everytime I try to open it. i attempt to run bluestacks on my computer. bluestacks doesn’t have 64 bit for mac yet.#i get a free trial of parallels and download windows onto my laptop. this takes 40 minutes.#i try to download and run bluestacks on that. m1 macs apparently can’t run bluestacks 64 bit through parallels.#i go find the final old phone that I had forgotten about. it takes forever to charge because the charging port is fucked up. i reset it as #well. it can’t connect to wifi. i try a hotspot on my current phone. service is too awful. i try to do wifi sharing from my laptop.#you have to be connected to the router via a cable for that to work.#at this point it has been like 3 hours. I’m giving up because I’ve been down this route before #when I attempted to run 32 bit steam games on m1 mac #(wine64 doesn’t exist for m1 macs yet -> attempt to run boot camp -> boot camp isn’t a thing anymore on Apple silicon -> attempt to run #several different programs that allow me to run windows on a mac. none of them work. ->#look into linux & give up. -> attempt to implement the unfinished/unbottled wine64 code thru terminal. ->#fuck up and delete some important file & have to fix that (misery inducing) -> keep trying. i think I downloaded a Mac coding program at #some point? i realize I have zero coding knowledge and this is a mistake. -> give up and purchase crossover. game doesn’t even work. ->#3 months later update to the latest OS so I can have enough storage to play psychonauts 2. find out the $60 crossover #purchase was a bad idea because ‘heehee crossover doesn’t work on that buy the new version’ (fuck crossover).#my toxic trait is my belief that I can figure out anything via google and sheer stubbornness. usually this is true. occasionally there are #exceptions to this rule. most of them are because owning Apple products is a mistake.#i think if I reset the router tomorrow I can solve this problem but I can also just go elsewhere with better service or wait until I’m home #now it’s a matter of pride. and also free 4*/I have nothing better to do because I’m stuck here until Tuesday.#<- this is all normal behavior by the way. who doesn’t spend 8 hours ramming their head against a problem every once and a while. enrichment #mine #oh I forgot. i also looked into cloning the app but that would cost money for something that might not even work.#‘just log out and make an alt’ and risk losing my account? I’m stupid enough to overwrite it on accident.

she's got FAS and is very much a parrot (she copies what she hears around her. i.e being shit to my mom bc my dad is. he's been the biggest influence the last year as they were kinda stuck in the same room together) unintentionally so i know it's most likely that spending time around my dad when he watches the news is the culprit-

but that doesn't make me feel less angry and lowkey betrayed by it

#I have spent. 8 almost 9 hours resetting my laptop. I chose the option to keep all my files but uninstall apps. and it has been restarting #and installing for almost 9 hours. yeah I get that the process will be long. but ffs #I have been bored the past few hours so I watched the smile movie bc I got reminded of it yesterday #it was pretty bad. the couple gorey scenes towards the end were nice but some of the acting and writing was just terrible #I was also hoping the movie would’ve taken a different turn. I think it would’ve made it more.. idk. I can’t think of the right term.-#-it just would’ve made it better I think.#I’ve also eaten a lot today. more than I usually do. more than I have in months and years and im upset about that. im already bloated.#I hope I don’t work tomorrow. I have to call in in the morning to check. and I don’t mind working but rn I just kind of want to spend the #day relaxing #I’ve spent almost 9 hours on this resetting part. and 4 extra hours trying to simply repair it in restarts #I also need to clean up my room. a lot of it. and clean my pets cage. it’s ant season now and im really stressed about that #the smell of sharpie returns and I am just. overwhelmed. #its so confusing LMAO at least for me who knows next to nothing abt dnd #i dont understand how spells work and im getting stressed bc idk if quests rlly disappear if i dont complete them fast enough #but also i read that once you beat the main story its joever so maybe i should explore more but i feel like my character is wasting time #and is gonna die the next second if i dont progress the main story ⚰️ the green lady is doing a great job hammering that into my brain #anyway i cant take screenshots of my character bc my tv has fucked up colors and i made the character and guardian based on them #so when i look at a screenshot on the ps app and the colors are different im like '........ that is not my beautiful boy!!!!!'#like it rlly bothers me. anyway i chose a bard of course. very basic and again idk how to play so its all a mess hdjdjdjd #im hoping i figure it out soon bc it is such a cool game. just wish i understood anything </3 #i love my character tho im very invested in his story. maybe i shouldve made my first character the 'goody two shoes' type #to make it easier LMAO #but as ive said before i rlly need to get myself out of my comfort zone when it comes to games #i didnt wanna just breeze past the game but actually consider my decisions. turns out its exhausting lmaooo #anyway sorry im rambling i like the game but im just dumb and stress out over things that dont matter way too easily

i think a good exercise for a lot of writers to scrutinise our gender biases is to open up some old story and just change a character's pronouns and name if necessary to make them another gender. if you make a male or non binary character a woman, how does she compare to your other female characters, does she stand out in any way? does it make you want to change any of her choices or dialogues? did you have an idea of what they did before and/or is gonna do after the story and has that changed? does it affect your affinity for this character? does something seem silly or illogical or off about the character in this new light, does any scene have to go or be rewritten completely bc of the change? if the answer ever is yes you gotta ask yourself why.

now try it with different characters, different genders, if you try it in several stories maybe you'll find the switch makes a larger difference in a love interest than a main character regardless of original gender, or not or vice versa. why. if you change the entire cast how does that make you feel?

just make yourself aware of your own perceptions of gender, then do with that information what you will.

#ok actually just wrote this bc I wanna try this n am about to go to bed so was gonna write this in my notes app so I don't forget but I #thought hey maybe someone else would be interested too. it was actually spurred from a throwaway thought that some male writers would #do well to write all their characters as male and then at random change a few genders once the story is done that way they might actually #write women and not another woman archetype number 2 (out of 3)#n then i thought hmmm i wonder if i approach my characters very differently based on gender?

what's the desktop site you use for sticky notes? i randomly stumbled across your post and now im curious

k so i used to use this one for chrome (it worked pretty separately from the browser though i hate sticky note extensions that are stuck to the page or only operational through your bookmarks. killing and biting i want to be able to have them open over other apps) and this morning i downloaded this one off the app store for my macbook (works the same except like. kind of better. tbh). so glad you could be with me on this journey hope this is applicable to your life at all <3

Setting up my 5 (FIVE) email accounts to properly notify me like a Big Boi.

#one is my Acient Online Go-to #one is my 'professional'#one is Super Secret for Secret Stuff #one is my School email #and the other is my Online Professional account (for things I want related DIRECTLY to Actual Corpse)#and I have THREE different notification sounds #2 of those are Gmail accounts! BUT I HAVE THEM ON MY OUTLOOK APP BECAUSE GMAIL SUCKS #i DO NOT receive notifications from my Gmail app (I've done EVERYTHING to fix it)#so I have to connect my 5 accounts on one app so I can get notified of any email (some of them are actually important)#(important as in I joined Caddicarus Patreon and need to keep y #*keep up with my benefits)#the highest tier is cheaper than an Amazon Prime membership! (I ACTUALLY enjoy Caddy rather than just pour money into a Prime account and ne #never actually use it soooo (I watched 3 episodes of Fallout and just kinda dropped it... Ok, the boss is no more! There were some super stressful moments but surprisingly we all survived o:

My animal companion got hit with disintegrate, but we had hero points to make him avoid it. I would cry actually, because disintegrate means no resurrection x_x

The war is prevented! At least this one, because Cayden's party is right at the center of a much bigger one just starting. Today we saved the country. Cayden is trying to not even save the whole world, just maybe slow the whole thing down and save as much people as possible...

#majek says shit #I have the diamond for a raise animal companion spell but it can only be used if you have a body and even then there are restrictions #and Kela wouldn't even know about it until after the fight because she got trapped between a wall of force and a stone golem?#or a stone Big Humanoid Fucker idk what that technically was but it would've killed me pretty fast #and it all was in an area of supernatural darkness emanating from the powergamer's character...#which interfered with so much of everyone else's actions and we even addressed it before the session that it's a bad idea to cast this #but its ok because HE will be able to see through it and HE won't be targeted easily:))))#he also almost ended the encounter in the first round of proper combat...#by using mechanics so outrageous but technically ambiguous enough that our GM can't deny them by using only RAW...#and he prefers to settle arguments by going as RAW as possible...#and it wasn't a problem until now when we have a player who exploits to an actually unbelievable extent #we shared our character sheets online yesterday and I finally saw his... still have no idea how the character works #because like half the stuff is custom and missing from the app #he has 9 AC in the app and allegedly 32 AC before buffs...#and the GM says the math checks out but 1. nobody saw that math besides him and 2. so far he trusted that player without too much questions #and only recently he actually realised he's been manipulated multiple times when me and some others started dismantling that players actions #I so hope this was the last session with that person #the worst thing is I think he's an ok guy when I'm not playing any kind of game with him #and I understand different people find enjoyment in different aspects of games - his being figuring out how far he can go with the rules #and there are whole groups of people who like to play like that and enjoy the challenge of making the most broken “build” possible #but the rest of the group are not that kind of people. maybe some like to have fun with researching what's possible #but it's never the purpose of the game and these things dont find their way into the actual game #I'm actually considering the possibility of just leaving the campaign if he stays there... I know I whine a lot in the tags #about different players that get on my nerves for various reasons. it sounds like I'm never happy about anything #but our group is big and we play together as a friend group in 4 different campaigns now (I'm in 3 of them)#and every one of these smaller groups has it's issues. sometimes it's the characters not matching and sometimes different expectations #or interpersonal stuff that can be worked out. this here is not a group composition issue because the powergaming attitude is everywhere #it's impossible to talk casually between sessions and confronting the guy leads to like actual temper tantrums #literally said “the fuck do I care if the party dies I'm not gonna be useful anymore” after the GM gave him feedback to maybe ease it up #he never says things like that when the gm or me are present but we still get info. he just can't be confronted by the gm like that
