I am having a full circle moment.

Box One was my First Puzzle of the year (as well as one of my top favorites) and now I am closing out the year on Box Two...

I am/was a bit in awe as I didn't even know Box Two was a thing... or at the very least a completed project.

Jumpin' In - all I can say is, "Yes, Yes, and Yaas!"

I am in Love with everything!

The mechanics, the tricks, the puzzles, the codes, the clues, the riddles, the digital interaction.

The only immediate negative thing I could mention - and it is kind of nitpicky, but true - I can say... is this box is very intricate that you better be prepared - by "be prepared"... I mean make sure you are in a well furnished home with or close to gadgets as you will definitely need access to household items not included in the box... so, ya know... don't expect to complete this Box on some Outdoor Camping Trip.

Now, with that negative comment out there - I am now going to walk it back - those moments where you need to access gadgets or utilize a household item - My Jaw-Dropped. I Giggled in Glee. I Made My Friend (in the next room) Drop Everything they were doing and had them Watch the "Magic" that was about to be Revealed!

Another Added Plus - Nothing is Destroyed! Everything can be Rassembled, Boxed-Up, and Shelved neatly on your Mantel of Triumph!

This Box, This Puzzle.... This Piece of Art is of the Highest Quality & Craftsmanship and has Me Hungry for more.

Just... Wow!

Trying to solve a mystery! I got my new deck of Stranger Things playing cards in the mail from Theory11 and I can’t figure out what the letters on Dustin’s shirt are referring to. Does anyone know? For reference on Eddie’s card he’s wearing the Hellfire Club Shirt and you can clearly see that the letters though partially cut off spell out Hellfire Club so I know it’s not random.

Deckcember day 10: Theory11 Lord of the Rings

This is the Lord of the Rings deck by theory11. I got it for my birthday last year. You can get it here:

As usual with theory11, the tuck is incredible. Two colors of foil, both used really well, plus fancy designs on the back and sides and top and interior and really just everywhere. I really like just about everything from this deck. You can't really see it in these pics, but it's covered in metallic ink just all over the place. It comes with not only two rad jokers but two more really cool extra cards. The pips are all custom and universally great. Most if not all of the courts are beautiful. The Ace of Spades is incredible and the other aces are good too. The back isn't my favorite, but it works well. All in all, just an excellent deck, even if you're only a casual LotR fan.

I don't know if anyone has ever talked about this, but. The Netflix store has a set of ST playing cards made by Theory11, with the different characters as face cards. They have the Byers as Clubs (King Will, Queen Joyce, Jack Jonathan) which makes sense. What's interesting is that they also have Mike as the King of Hearts, Nancy as the Queen of Hearts, and Hopper as the Jack of Hearts. Meaning that all of the Hearts are the "Hearts" of the Clubs (the Byers).

I know some people did posts about the tarot cards but I don't know if people talked about the playing cards yet, interesting choice!! 🧐

Today we will talk about...

Cards: are one of the main tools of magicians. For 130 years, the cards most used by card magic experts have undoubtedly been the American Bicycle cards, which have made their trademark their original design and products, often tailor-made for magicians.This deck in particular has an incredible history. The Bicycle ArchAngels were made by Theory11, one of the largest and most renowned playing card manufacturers in the world. Six months of work by the British artist Tom Lane have returned an incredible plot, a detailed tangle of lines and drawings that contains numerous hidden details on the theme of the contrast between Good and Evil, between Angels and Demons in the eternal struggle that shakes Heaven , Earth and Hell. Not just a deck of cards, but a real work of art, as are many products from Bicycle and Theory11.

I was gonna purchase theory11's Wonka playing cards and a bunch of other decks because they were all so friggin pretty (hp, lotr, beatles...) but shipping was insane so I removed it all 😅

Well, hello lovely. Welcome home.

The Game Crafter did a good job of packing and protecting the deck case.

The cards are not as large as the case size implies. Which is good, actually. It means the deck itself is more portable and gives me room to pack a reading cloth or other divination tools with the deck.

The Motif Deck case contents: The Motif Deck, split in two bags due to the printing run, and a Small Colorful Brochure [SCB]. (For which my aging eyes give thanks for. No magnifying glass required!)

The cards, being new and thin, have sharp edges. Delicate hands and exposed skin beware until the edges have been worn down with use. The card surface is slick as new cards are, but the colors are vibrant without being excessively so.

The Motif Deck card size is that of standard poker cards, but the deck is thicker than a tarot deck. Here pictured with the Universal Waite Tarot (©US Games Systems, Inc.) and the High Victorian Playing Cards (©Theory11).

I avoided reading much of the discourse regarding the deck because I didn't want to soak up too much of other people's opinions. As the cards have no set definition or meanings, it's my intent to use the deck as a tool to engage my intuition rather than my cognition when reading. I reserve the right to use the Motif Deck as a "second voice" or "vibe check" when there is the risk of overthinking a reading or decision.
