[240104 SWE VS. CZE] theo lindstein (stl) sees noah östlund (buf) in behind the czech defense and catches him in stride with a tape-to-tape pass; östlund buries to make it 4-2 for the swedes and hits the dab as he celebrates

posted this in the discord but might as well put it here too—otto stenberg about theo lindstein after they were drafted to the blues… damn the intricacies of the english language
Transcript:
Andy Strickland: Alright, give us a scouting report; Theo Lindstein, the Blues just took him with the 29th pick, a fellow countryman out of Sweden. Tell us about him.
Otto Stenberg: Yeah, first of all, a really good guy. We slept together—we were roomates at the U18 Worlds, uh, so, yeah, really good guy, and as a player, two-way forward, I think he plays really well all over the rink, and uh, has some good offensive skills, too, so yeah, good player and complete demon, I think.
#st louis blues#rbf chirp#nhl draft 2023#otto stenberg#theo lindstein#the way the swedes + dvorsky are already friends is so special to me#i think there's a clip of dvorsky watching theo and otto get picked and going “omg i know them that's crazy”#i'll have to find it

Monitor-strul i Gävle: ”Vad i allsin dar?!”
Ingen bildskärm i Monitor ERP Arena. Tacklingen gick…

updates as of 3/24/24, a month later:
for the record all but one of these are NOT about trades. blues basically did nothing at the trade deadline. all signings and debuts this time :)
zachary bolduc made his nhl debut feb 22 and has been in the lineup ever since! scored his first nhl goal in his second game which was also his 21st birthday :)
binnington is now officially 3rd in wins by a blues goaltender :)
oskar sundqvist signed a 2 year contract extension!!
the one and only trade deadline move was trading malcolm subban to the blue jackets for future considerations. he apparently played 31 games for springfield so goodbye king i guess
matt kessel signed a 2 year 1 way contract extension!! he was called up dec 30th and has been in the lineup since, and he’s now officially in the nhl for the next 2 years 🫡 he has yet to score a goal so be on the lookout !
zach dean was called up and played his nhl debut in ottawa in front of his family :)
theo lindstein, one of the blues first round draft picks in 2023, signed his ELC! he has played well in sweden this season and led defensemen in scoring at world junior with 8 points and a silver medal !! the blues kind of desperately need defensemen who aren’t old as dirt so this is good news <3
not necessarily big blues news but dalibor dvorsky, the blues 10th overall pick from 2023, has 45 goals in his first OHL season ! he has 88 points in 51 games. he’s kinda killing it. the future is bright <3
THE UNOFFICIAL ST. LOUIS BLUES PRIMER !!!
part one: forwards, part two: defensemen, part three: goalies + more
i made an attempt at being objective about the team i grew up loving. this is all as of 2/20/24, 55 games through the season. updates will probably be made after the trade deadline 👍
