I can't imagine romancing anyone in persona 5 except maybe Ann. All the other girls it makes no sense to me. And I think the adult women should die honestly.

jim, when he finally understood spock’s reasoning in menagerie, part 2: spock! you could’ve just told me! (and i would’ve broke the rules for you)
spock, as noble and kind as he is: and make you face the death penalty too? no… one of us is enough

hot take but you all NEED to stop telling people to kill themselves.
yes, even *those* people. i don't care if you're talking to some monster who puts live puppies into a wood chipper for fun, don't say that shit.
because mx. puppychipper isn't gonna be affected by your words.
but you know who might be affected? some innocent third party reading the words you said on a public website.
because telling people to kill themselves says "suicide is a punishment for being a bad person. bad people, upon realizing they're bad, should simply commit suicide instead of working to atone for their actions."
and that is NOT a message you wanna be normalizing to anyone, but ESPECIALLY people with depression (who, let's be real, make up a higher than average chunk of this site's userbase). whose mental illness is already telling them that 1: they're an inherently terrible worthless person no matter what they do 2: death is an appealing option.
is reading "kill yourself" once or twice gonna make them do it? nah, probably not. but reading it multiple times a day every day is gonna make their mental health worse. it's probably not good for your mental health to be saying that kind of thing, either.
just knock that shit off. the world is already so hostile to people with mental illness, and managing mental illness and unlearning unhealthy thought patterns is already so difficult. you don't need to be out here making it worse.

One underdiscussed aspect of the bone-deep lack of mutual understanding during the nieyao stairs scene is that Nie Mingjue doesn't know - and can't know - what he's actually asking of Jin Guangyao. Not because he doesn't understand how his father treats him, or how tenuous his position is. But because he has no clue Xue Yang is a demonic cultivator.
Remember: Nie Mingjue is still alive, which means the position of chief cultivator doesn't exist yet and Jin Guangshan is facing heavy pushback for suggesting it. Most of that is coming from a fear that the Jin will try to become the next Wen. So having an outer disciple murder an entire clan and then not even punish him properly? This is a collosally bad move politically! You might as well be waving a red flag around yelling "I want to kill other sects with impunity!" There's a reason that years in the future, the moment Jin Guangyao becomes acting sect leader, he will immediately order Xue Yang's death (He doesn't actually die, either by accident or on purpose on jgy's part. But the point is that as far as the public is concerned he had Xue Yang executed.)
From Nie Mingjue's perspective, Jin Guangshan just shot himself in the foot politically for some random outer disciple. It's morally wrong, but it's also incredibly fucking stupid. In his eyes, he is asking Jin Guangyao to do the glaringly obvious right thing, even when exclusively looking at the Jins' self-interest. The thing that surely everyone else in the Jin also wants Jin Guangshan to do! Jin Guangyao can say that he has no influence on his father all he wants, but it is obvious how much work he does and so, as much as his father may not respect him, he clearly at least trusts Jin Guangyao's competence. Nie Mingjue has already tried shouting directly at Jin Guangshan during the trial and it seemed to work, but then Jin Guangshan went back on his decision like a complete idiot. So now Nie Mingjue is asking the guy who is famous for being good at rhetoric and convincing people to convince his donkey of a father to do the obviously correct thing with minimal downsides because again, to Nie Mingjue, this is all about some random outer disciple. It makes sense to ask this! It's a pretty reasonable request! Jin Guangshan can't possibly care that much.
Except of course he does. Because Xue Yang isn't some random outer disciple. He's the only good shot Jin Guangshan has at recreating the yin tiger tally. And Jin Guangshan reaaaaaally wants the yin tiger tally. So bad that he is fully willing to tank an ungodly amount of political goodwill to get it. Jin Guangyao is fully aware that not only will Jin Guangshan never kill Xue Yang, he isn't planning on keeping him locked up either. In fact, after Nie Mingjue is dead, he'll free Xue Yang and strongarm Chang Ping into denying the guilt of his family's murderer. Jin Guangshan cares a lot about keeping Xue Yang in his employ.
And Jin Guangyao knows this. But he can't tell Nie Mingjue that! Because then he'd have to admit they've been doing demonic cultivation. That the fucking ghost geneal is in their basement. That, oopsie, they actually also killed a whole other entire clan just a while ago after framing their sect leader for an assasination attempt and then used their bodies as fodder to make more fierce corpses. You know, in case one mass murder wasn't enough!
So obviously he's not gonna say that. Which means Nie Mingjue has no idea what he's demanding from Jin Guangyao, and therefore no idea why he absolutely can't fullfill that request.
I get why it's not mentioned very often because there are a lot of other problems which are both more obvious and more fun to talk about. (Who doesn't love a little overcomplicated trolley problem?) But I think it adds just another layer to the chasm between them in this scene. They're not just disagreeing, they're having completely different conversations.

There really is something terrifying and yet beautiful about how Darius's love of dinosaurs was quickly surpassed by his love for his friends and found family.
The revelation that as soon as one dinosaur killed one of his fellow campers, he was done with them? After they'd put their trust in him? Whether he was in love with them or not? That was all it took, one death? One loss? And it was Over? Even the keepsake he shared with his father was cast aside, because the thought of loving something that had brought so much harm was too much? Even with all of his knowledge, the weapon that kept his friends alive, that an animal is just doing what an animal does, he still vilified them and pushed all of that aside?
That is such beautiful, terrifying Character Growth.

saw somebody claim the stickybomb launcher was too ugly for demoman and he should use the half zatoichi instead. disgraceful thoughts like this should be punishable by death, perhaps by tying them to a rocket going into space

Tbh I have a lot of complicated feelings about the whole OceanGate thing and I'm not really a fan of how this is being treated as The Evergiven 2, but as it becomes more and more likely that the sub suffered a critical failure and imploded days ago my main thought is that visiting the Titanic's wreck should be in the same category as climbing Mt. Everest; a pointless, unfathomably dangerous, disrespectful excursion that should not be allowed, or at least regulated and reserved for experts who know what they're doing to conduct research and/or matinance.
I mean like at this point I don't even think the average person should know where Titanic is. What is the benefit? All it leads to is death and the disruption and/or potential destruction of a mass gravesite that also doubles as a unbelievably valuable historic artifact that will not be around forever. Why the hell are people just allowed to go down there?? We don't let people go rub their hands all over the Mona Lisa, and that wouldn't even kill anyone, why can billionaires just go tromping around in far more deadly and fragile locations, especially ones where hundreds of people have already died?
But yeah idk there's no real point in adding my input to the discussion and I kinda don't want to comment on it beyond this anyway, but the whole situation sucks and def makes it clear there are simply some things people should not be allowed to do no matter how much goddamn money they have.

I need to know (feel free to answer this with a serious or joking (or both) answer. I love your takes either way), you've been chosen to be his defense lawyer, how would you defend light yagami in court?
I would avoid trial, I don't think Light is defensible in court. To do so, I would break down pages from the Death Note into pulp that I would press into unlined paper and bleach. Then I would print all of my motions on such paper so that the judge and the court staff inadvertently touch the Death Note pages. After which, I would send Ryuk (bribing him with apples, of course) to sit on their chests like a sleep paralysis demon every night, keeping them awake and taunting them until the sleep deprivation and horror drove them mad or forced them into early retirement.
And I would keep doing that, going through judges until Ryuk got bored and killed Light, or me, or both of us.

hey hey hey im not a fan of trump (obviously) but!!!! nobody deserves to die at the hand of gun violence. nobody deserves to die at the hand of anyone else. nobody deserves to die on a public stage, nobody deserves to die at the hands of a political extremist. nobody deserves to be shot to death. not even the literal scum of the earth. nobody deserves to be murdered. and i cant believe that actually has to be said.

I cant remember if it was ever said or if you mentioned it somewhere, but why was Ganondorf exiled from Gerudo? The one lady who was able to return home early with a flower killed a man so I’m curious about what Ganondorf actually did. It’s implied in the beginning that he kills and robs men who wander into Gerudo, so I’m very curious
I had to clarify this over on Comicfury today, too 😅 While it was explicitly stated in the Zine/character profiles that Gan was exiled for murder, I... don't actually know if it's been directly stated in the main comic >_> For some reason, I thought on that page you're referring to that Zaneta directly stated that Gan did kill someone, but...... looking back, no. She didn't.
It kind of makes sense that it's never come up because Gan is in no hurry to tell anyone (especially Link), buuuut yeah.
It will be stated outright and discussed more in this chapter, but it really should've been stated earlier. ...might go back and edit the dialogue with that page.

Also I lost all my respect for anyone who at first just said “he has done bad things but…” yeah what’s your point? People doing bad things deserve to die violent deaths because you lot on a twitter/tumblr/tiktok/instagram pedestal say so?
Fuck. Right. Off.

Hi trenchfoot jsyk I had a dream about you last night where you wrote a controversial poem? Song? Idr about Simon blackquill's dick being stuck in a hound's mouth as a metaphor for capital punishment I think and you were doing a reading for it onstage and I was the stagehand like fuckkkkk the masses aren't going to understand its mastery of language. And then I woke up and it was raining for the first time in weeks so I think your Simon blackquill dick in dog mouth poem caused it. Use your new powers wisely

Every time I see one of those 'vampires in movies are so stupid to angst over their vampire-ness, if I was a vampire I'd simply only kill bad people' posts I have to quietly sigh because how can you miss the point of those stories so bad.
Have you ever seen the movie He Never Died? (If not, be aware that I'm about to spoil it) In it, our main vampiric character gets a sudden and desperate need for blood when he unexpectedly loses his regular supplier. Starving, he stumbles onto the streets and pretends to drop some money in front of a couple of skeevy looking guys. One of the guys picks the money up, runs to catch up, and hands it over, kindly urging him to be careful. Our vampire looks pained as he thanks him. He let's the guys live and stumbles along. He deliberately bumps into another skeevy looking guy; the guy politely apologizes. He let's him go. Eventually, now barely able to stand from hunger, someone is openly rude to him over his condition. Relieved, the vampire looks up, and stops.
He asks, "How old are you?"
He never gets an answer. He eats the guy anyways.
How do you find people bad enough to kill? How do you judge what is bad enough? How do you know they have actually done the bad thing in question? You do know people get innocently accused of things sometimes, or that rude people aren't the same as cruel or violent people, right? How far will your sliding scale of 'bad' change when you’re hungry, desperate, when you’ve been doing this for decades and centuries and it’s just as much work every time and the truly bad people are often the ones most protected and hardest to get to? Maybe you can even survive without human blood, but is it worth it if it makes you weaker? If you constantly hunger and long and can think of nothing else until satiated? Are you 'good' for choosing to give in to it even if you don’t have to, but killing only those you deem deserving of it? Do you have any more right to stay alive than they do? And anyway, who are you to play judge, jury, executioner? Do you truly think a vampire that feels morally justified in its killings is any better than one that kills only to eat? Do you not think it would become only an excuse? Do you not realize you would become the very worst of the bunch precisely because you do not see the consequences of being a vampire as a cost, but as a boon?
