To this end, the Yamaguchi engaged in horrific experiments upon their own bloodline, resulting in countless deaths and sacrifices spanning generations; however, the family's sins would eventually catch up to them. A number of lawsuits and exposés orchestrated by one of their own revealed the company’s countless crimes. The Yamaguchi Corporation was swiftly buried and forced into bankruptcy. In the end, Ren and his siblings were taken from their parents and into the care of their cousin Yoshida and his wife. Although living in relative safety from then on, Ren’s childhood was a difficult one. He and his siblings had merely been victims of his family’s work, but they found no shortage of ostracization from their peers for their shameful heritage. Still, the dark days of the Yamaguchi family are finally over.

Clarification on how all of these guys are related to Ren. Yoshida took him in, and Ren and his siblings grew up alongside Yoshida's own children Keiko and Rui. As far as Ren and his siblings are concerned, Keiko and Rui are as good as sisters and refer to them as such. If any of that was confusing, good. I want it to be. They're supposed to be interconnected and complicated and all over the place >:)

Depending on the au though, all of Ren’s family can end up being entirely wiped out. As Ren is the only one born with true immortality, his family ends up being put to death for their crimes with him as the sole survivor.

I thought the implication was that new vampires desperately need to drink blood after they’re turned but we don’t get that with MC?
