-You don’t remember blacking out, but the next thing you knew, you were in the medical wing, your new family sitting around you, waiting for you to wake up.

chapter 3

(Name)’s P.O.V

I walked to the door of Shang Tsung’s throne room and walk in to see Liu Kang failed!?! ‘what the hell!?’ I quickly ran to him “Liu Kang! What happened?!” I asked worried “I-I failed” he mumbled in pain, Kung Lao and I both move Liu Kang away from the battle field. I look up to see Shang Tsung smirking “it has been decided Earthrealm is now Shao Kahn’s! No Earthrealm warrior is left standing to defend their home!” he cackled I growled and pushed my way through the crowd “hey!” I shouted gaining everyone’s attention “I’m still here! I challenge Ermac as the last Earthrealm warrior!” I announced bravely “Lady (Name) don’t!” Kung Lao tried to get to me but Baraka pushed him back.

“chuckles very well child. Ermac vs (Name)!” Shang Tsung exclaims as Ermac assumes fighting stance “you should have kept your mouth shut. We will not go easy on you” Ermac said I smirked and assumed fighting position “oh good, I needed a warm up today” I say clenching my fists. “Begin” Shang Tsung said. Ermac launched at me, my instincts kicked in and I kept dodging and watching his moves ‘find the weak spot, find the weak spot’ I kept repeating to myself when he lands a blow to my stomach making me fly across the room into the wall then grabs me by the throat and slams me into the ground “…ow…” I whimpered “(Name)!” Liu Kang and Kung Lao shout. I open my eyes to see the Earthrealm warriors looking at me with worried and horrified. I taste my own blood and spit it out beside me. He then proceeds to punch me in the face and stomach ‘yield’ I heard ‘what?’ ‘Lady (Name) please yield, we do not wish to end your life’ that’s when it hit me.

Ermac was trying to help me, to save me from death ‘I can’t, these people need me’ Ermac stops after a while with my eyes swollen almost shut I could still see the horrified faces of my friends even Sonya looked like she was going to be sick “we warned you. You should have kept your mouth shut. We have clearly won. Yield and you may live. Earthrealm is a world destined to die, Shao Kahn will have it” Ermac said emotionless. I felt a fire light within me burning inside me core “h…o” I rasped Ermac kneeled down “repeat” he commanded. I used my right fist and cracked him in the face so hard he stumbled back a few steps “I said ‘hell no!’ ya here me now!” I glare at him feeling the fire running through my veins “Earthrealm is my home! stands up struggling and I’ll be damned before I let it be taken over by a puppet of that prick Shinnok!” I yell “if dying is what it takes to protect it you’re damned right I’ll die to protect my home!” I launch at Ermac and slamming into him then throwing him into the wall. The energy within me fuelled my rage with every hit, every kick and punch until finally I landed the final blow to the head rendering him unconscious. The energy subsided causing me to drop to my knees “(Name)!” Liu Kang and Kung Lao ran to my aid helping me up.

I looked up at Shang Tsung “y-your next, prick” I stuttered loud enough before passing out.

TIMESKIP

“Is lady (Name) alright?” “Lord Raiden’s powers have healed her physically; she needs to rest to be prepared for the next match” “I should have tried harder; she would not have gone through this much had I not failed” “Never knew the kid had it in her. She looked like she packed a wallop kickin’ Ermac’s butt”

I woke up to hearing voices causing me to open my eyes Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, Sonya, Johnny and Sub-Zero. “Well, isn’t this nice” I said gaining their attention as I sat up “(Name)” Liu Kang smiled and hugged me. I was surprised at first but hugged him back once he let go Kung Lao pet my head “that was amazing, I never knew a child such as yourself could fight like that” I frowned “I’m not a child damn it!” I whined causing the others to laugh.

Timeskip again

Raiden helps me practice kata (a system of individual training exercises in karate and other martial arts) “how did you know what Scorpion would have done?” Raiden asked “where I come from, Mortal Kombat is a video game series. This tournament is the 9th one in the series. I’ve played it before many times and I remember the storyline like the back of my hand. But still there is something I don’t understand” I said stopping for a moment as does Raiden as he stops to look at me “what is it?” “Liu Kang was the one who was supposed to defeat Ermac not me. Could it be possible that me being here is the reason such events to change?” “it is possible, since Liu Kang has been defeated and you have taken his place you are now Earthrealm’s last hope” I chuckle nervously “talk about having the weight of the world on your shoulders” Raiden gasps and I run to him “Raiden what’s wrong?” I asked worried. He takes a deep breath and smiled at me “another vision” “what happened this time?” “"He must win". Those are my last words before I die. I believed it was Liu Kang who was to win but you are now our fighter. Do you know what is to happen?” “sorry but I can’t be so sure anymore. Since I’m a fighter now I don’t know what will happen” he takes off his amulet “This amulet was forged by the Elder Gods. It cracked here in the present after my first vision. If we choose wisely, the future will be secured and the cracks healed” “yeah if I choose wrong we’re all going to die” “you seem well confident” “to be honest I’m terrified” my body starts to tremble “I only defeated Ermac out of luck. If I lose the next match I may die not only that but Earthrealm would be doomed” Raiden places hands upon my shoulders making me look at him “you shall be fine lady (Name). Have faith in yourself. The elder gods would not have sent you if you were to be the end of Earthrealm” I nod and smile “thank you” “We must trust in the Elder Gods, Lady (Name)” he says as he lets go of me.

Raiden teleports away in a flash of lightning. I sigh and prepare to resume Kata only to find Kitana walking toward me “oh shit” I mutter. She attacks immediately, but I block all of her attacks and kick her away. She tries again, fails to land a good hit and I kick her away again. Getting angry, Kitana tries another attack, but I grab both her arms before she can connect. I throw her off making her land on the ground “Jesus Christ, what the hell is wrong with you!” I yell surprising her but as quickly as the surprised look appeared on her face it disappeared. She assumes fighting stance “alright have it your way” I growl launching at her ‘in the game she always waits when she throws her fans’ I land a blow on her left leg and jump back as she throws a punch then manages to land a kick on my left arm and a punch in the face, I jump back holding my arm “not bad” I commented “you’re pretty well trained yourself!” she exclaimed this goes on for about 20 minutes then she yells throwing her fans ‘now!’ time slowed down to me as I caught the fans and throw them back at her cutting her arms deeply. She cried out in pain which gave me the chance to take out her legs out she kneels in defeat.

“that was fun” I said sarcastically walking to her. “Do it” she said confusing me “do what?” “Kill me” “why?” “I came to kill you. I have failed my father. My emperor” “you’re joking. That’s no reason to die” “I have disgraced him. You must kill me” I pinched the bridge of my nose “what is it with you people and dying for honour!?! I walk off to find Liu Kang and Raiden.

I arrive at the exterior courtyard at night where everyone is waiting ‘ok, (Name), now think who were you supposed to battle?’ I took a deep breath and stood by my friends “Kombatants! Only one Earthrealm warrior remains” Shang Tsung announces I look to my friends and they smile nodding at me when I notice that Bi-Han is missing “where’s Sub-Zero?” I asked they all frown and I already know what that means “who” I demand Johnny steps forward and hands me something. It’s Sub-Zero’s wrist guards “sorry doll, but Quan Chi and Scorpion got the drop on him” he said sadly.

I put the guards on my own wrists and adjust them to fit me. The cold air starts to come out of it ‘Bi-Han, I shall avenge you’ “he said he cared for you deeply” Johnny said smiling I smile sadly back and walk to the fighting grounds. “I’m ready!” “The Earth bound child (Name) Rain. Is she ready to bear such a heavy burden? Earthrealm's fate is in her hands. Your opponent will be… Scorpion!” Shang Tsung said. Scorpion appears in a flash of fire he looks shocked “Lady (Name) why are you here?” he asked worried “I’m your opponent now, traitor” he looks saddened by this then notices my wrist guards “do those belong to-” “to Bi-Han? Yeah they did” I growl “Fighting with Scorpion… the sorcerer Quan Chi!” Shang Tsung says as Quan Chi teleports through a portal, laughing as he does so.

“ooh I’m gonna enjoy kickin’ your ass” I said smirking “you should have just fled child” Quan Chi said smirking “shut up and fight!” I growled. I fight Scorpion while at the same time we talk “Lady (Name). Why are you fighting?” he asked dodging my hits “because Liu Kang was defeated by Ermac. I’m not about to let Earthrealm die when I can help” I replied dodging his hits “but you are going to face creatures of great strength” “I know. grunt when I decided to be a fighter and try to protect Earthrealm I had only one reason to fight but now I have two” “two reasons?” “The first was to protect Earthrealm” “and the second?” “Avenge Sub-Zeros’ death by beating the crap out of his murderers, Quan Chi!” I growled landing a blow on Scorpion “and you! You traitor! I warned you what would happen if you killed him and you ignored me! Now you will pay!” I scream landing one last hit on him knocking him out “I’m sorry, Hanzo, but you caused this” I said sadly.

‘Ok let’s see what these wrist guards can really do’ Quan chi launches at me and punches me in the face. I stumble back dazed a bit but shake it off yet I seem to keep getting hit until I fall to the ground all bloodied “easier to hit than Sub-Zero I see” he taunted. Big mistake. “BASTARD!” I shriek as I throw a punch at him. Once my fist connects with him he freezes I pick up his frozen body and smash it on the ground and proceed to beat him senseless his blood splatters across my face with every punch “this is for my friends! punch this is for me! punch you twisted Hanzos’ mind into thinking that Bi-Han was the cause of his families demise! punch when in reality you did it! slam you bastard! punches and then a kick to the head rendering him unconscious then a kick in the nuts and that was for killing Bi-Han!” I yell standing up breathing heavily and walked away to my friends.

Johnny placed a hand on my shoulder “you ok?” he asked as I tear up “I would be better if Bi-Han were here” I replied when he pulls me into a hug and pets my hair then pulls back he wipes my tears away as well as some of the blood and smiles “there, ya know you look a lot prettier when you’re not crying and laughs and covered in blood” I laugh a little and smile “thanks” I say “no problem” I turn to see Raiden standing behind me “lady (Name), You have done well. But the tournament is not yet over” “I know Goro is next” Johnny looked confused “what’s a Goro?” he asked “big ugly monster” I replied returning to the fighting ground “(Name) Rain… it has been years since an Earthrealm warrior has progressed this far. But the reigning champion is far beyond your ability. To the Lair with you!” Shang Tsung said.

3rd P.O.V

Tsung opens a portal under (Name)'s feet. She falls right through it and lands hard on the floor of the Lair. It is in fact the prison Sonya fought through, and notably there is a large throne that has no one in it. (Name) rises to her feet and looks around, spotting no one until a voice sounds out behind her. “I did not expect to fight in this tournament”

(Name) wheels around. She comes face to face with an eight foot tall, four armed humanoid. “or that I would have to fight a mere human girl” “I find that highly offensive you sexist prick” (Name) growled in the leopard stance she learned from Kung Lao. “I will give you a warriors death, girl” Goro states smirking and they fight. The battle is the most intense of (Name)’s life. Goro's strength is unparalled and his endurance legendary. It takes all of (Name)'s luck and instincts to keep her alive in the fight, but amazingly she manages to take it to the Mortal Kombat champion. After what seems like an age, Goro finally goes down to the young girl.

“Never ever underestimate me buddy” (Name) says straightening up. She takes a deep breath and looks at her wrist guards smiling sadly “Bi-Han, I pray you are alright and I promise to you your brother shall live as shall Smoke. clenches fists I refuse to let the cyber Initiative touch them” she says to herself. A portal opens up behind her. She looks to it with grim determination. In Shang Tsung's throne room, Raiden and the others await the arrival of the victor. (Name)’s friends pray that she made it out alive. Shang Tsung sneers unhappily when he sees it is (Name). He steps from his throne to the floor as Raiden takes in a deep breath in anticipation.

“Alright old man! This is it! Face me in mortal kombat!” (Name) exclaims in leopard stance causing Kung Lao to blush a little knowing she was using a move he taught her. “Very well” Shang Tsung smirks shape shifting into (Name) “oh this’ll be fun” (Name) smirked. They fight. The evil sorcerer brings all of his dark magic to bear, from his fireballs to the ability to morph into any fighter he chooses. But (Name) fights past all of it, delivering a vicious beat down to the treacherous servant of Shao Kahn. Finally, (Name) knocks Tsung to the floor, leaving him beaten and kneeling.

“finally, now say it” (Name) said ready to throw another punch “…I concede” Shang Tsung said begrudgingly. Her friends cheer for her “she has saved Earthrealm” Raiden says smiling. A large beam of light, emanating from a portal, descends into the throne room. The Earthrealm warriors all surround (Name), offering her congratulations. “That was awesome, (Name)!” Sonya said smiling “Congratulations young one” Nightwolf said “Way to go, kid.” Jax complemented “MVP, baby” Johnny said patting her on the back. Shang Tsung and his minions all take their leave through a portal back to Outworld. The last to depart is Kitana, who casts a longing look at (Name). “hey Kitana! Do me a favour and tell your dad that not only did Shang Tsung get his ass kicked but also it was done by a girl who hasn’t had a day of training in her life!” (Name) exclaimed.

Kitana nodded as she exits through the portal. (Name) then turns to face Raiden, who bows his head in congratulations. (Name) does the same. As Kung Lao puts a hand on her shoulder and (Name) nods back, Raiden takes another look at his amulet expectantly… only to find more cracks appear among it. He ponders the meaning of this with a look of worry.

Back in Outworld, Shang Tsung is on his knees before Shao Kahn. Baraka, Reptile and Kitana stand over the sorcerer expectantly. “You failed me! Five hundred years I have waited! Now I must wait five hundred more!” Shao Kahn yelled walking to his throne “I should have taken Earthrealm by force! But I am bound by their rules. Rules that cannot be broken” “that is not all may lord!” Kitana said catching her father’s attention as he sat down “there is more news of his failure?” he asks “yes, the warrior who won the tournament was a human Earthrealm girl who, even said so herself, had not one day of training in her life” Shao Kahn’s eyes grew wide in fury “YOU LET A HUMAN FEMALE DEFEAT YOU!?! AND WHAT’S MORE SHE WASN’T EVEN TRAINED IN ANY FORM OF FIGHTING?!?” he bellowed “My lord—” Shang Tsung tried to beg “Kill him!” Baraka and Reptile restrain Tsung as Kitana prepares her bladed fans “But what if the rules were changed?” Shang Tsung questioned catching his emperor’s interest. Shao Kahn holds up his hand “Kitana” Kitana pauses “Continue” Shao Kahn says.

Meet The Archon Family!

Note : It's not exactly an episode… it's simply a place where you can learn about the members of the Archon family plus some trivia.

I'm not from America and the school system will be documented in the story as it works in my country, to those who don't know, so it's like this: Kindergartens are usually for children aged 3 to 6. Elementary school is from 1th grade to 6th grade. Middle school is for 7th to 9th grade. And high school is for grades 10th and 12th. Of course college or university is later.

Zhongli Archon - Zhongli is the older brother of the family, he is 23/24 years old and just finished college.

He studied finance, business, economics, and accounting in college. And he thought of going to learn from sentences but gave up on it.

His nickname/username on most social media is Morax.

He has a lizard named Rex Lapis that no one in the family likes except maybe Venti and Nahida who have no problem with him but would still prefer another pet.

He is not so good with feelings or at least talking about them but still does his best to help and comfort his siblings but he feels he is not doing enough.

Likes to have tea with Raiden sometimes.

Likes to read and talk about stuff with Navida's before she goes to bed.

Love listening to podcasts no matter how boring everyone else thinks they are.

Loves wine.

His room is pretty neat but somehow he always has piles of paper there.

He has two jobs but it always feels like he doesn't have enough money.

Raiden Makoto Archon - Raiden is the second oldest sister of the family, she is 17/18 years old and is in her third and last year of high school (12th grade).

She didn't take the death of their parents (especially her mother) so well and now she keeps all her feelings inside.

Likes to spend time alone in her room, which is so tidy it's as if a military unit went through there and gave it a deep cleaning.

Her social media nickname/username is Raiden Shogun. But in in videogames her nickname/username is Ei.

Doesn't really like animals but if she had to choose a favorite it would be a cat.

Among her siblings, she gets along the least with Murata.

She has a sweet tooth. Plus sweets remind her of the time she used to watch her mother make sweets (even then she was a bad cook).

She is a gamer, Ya Miko loved most of the games (she has not met her yet but will meet her during the story).

She is the head of the student council.

She is on the kendo team at her school. She fights with both a sword and a naginata.

Murata Archon - Murata is the third oldest sister of the family, she is 15/16 years old and she just started high school (10th grade).

She is a combination of gangster, jock and a sukeban.

She likes to get into fights mainly because of the adrenaline but also because she is good at it and it gives her a sense of accomplishment. Something she doesn't feel much at school because her grades are the lowest in her family.

She hates being looked down upon. That's why she doesn't like Raiden and most of the teachers at school.

really like meat and spicy food.

She loved challenges to the point that she would do anything to win the challenge.

She doesn't have many friends so she is quite protective and loyal to the friends she has.

Zhongli reminds her of her father so she finds comfort in him.

Likes, playing pranks with Venti and Furina.

She and Furina love dogs but she likes dogs like a German shepherd while Furina prefers dogs like poodles.

Not much is known about her so I imagine she looks like Vennessa.

Furina Archon - Furina is the fourth oldest sister in the family and Venti's older twin, she is 13/14 years old and in the second year of middle school (8th grade).

Between her and Venti she is the "evil" twin. At first she might approach you and say something super passive aggressive like "Wow your test score is usually good" or "I'm sorry, am I bothering you?". It will slowly become more friendly until you are reduced from enemies to enemies to friends.

Her social media nickname/username is Focalors.

She do a good imitations of her siblings.

Want to be a lawyer/judge one day. Many believe it is because she likes the drama of the court. She won't say if it's true or not.

She and Venti are in the theater club together but she is also in the debate club.

Really good at making cakes (her mother taught her). And sometimes she and Raiden talk while they're eating or while she's making them.

Loves to read and listen to fairy tales and sometimes also history with Nahida.

She was supposed to share a room with Nahida, but after her parents died she moved into Zhongli's old room while he moved into their parents' room.

She has an indescribable amount of stuffed animals.

like to watch historical drama series.

Venti Archon - Venti is the fifth oldest brother in the family and as was said before Furina's younger twin, he is 13/14 years old and is in the second year of middle school (8th grade).

He gets along pretty well with everyone. Well maybe except the teachers but they can agree that he is a good boy he just needs to concentrate more.

His nickname/username on his social networks is Barbatos. Yes he and his twin sister are pretty dramatic…

He has the second worst scores in the family after Murata. His grades are either average or slightly above or slightly above average but not super good. Not that he cares.

He dreams of starting a band and he's going to make it happen no matter what!

Can play several stringed instruments, and he sings quite well.

He has a special bond with Zhongli  because they are the only boys in the family.

He doesn't have a problem with them being Zhongli's lizard  he just would have preferred it to be more interesting like an iguana or a chameleon. He also likes parrots. A lot!

Loves grape juice.

Unlike his twin sister he is a morning person while she is a night person.

Nahida Archon - She is the little sister of the family, she is 5 years old and just started going to kindergarten because before she stayed at home with their mother who is now dead.

She is super shy but also super curious.

She really likes books of all kinds but her siblings don't allow her to read graphic books.

I love mint tea with lots of sugar.

She's a vegetarian, kind of… I mean unofficially and she can eat meat if she has to. But she doesn't really enjoy it and her family knows who it is so they just don't give her meat.

Trying to behave the best she can because she doesn't want to burden her siblings.

Feels bad because she can't help her others much but she still does her best!

She would have preferred Zhongli's lizard (Rex Lapis) to be something cuter like a rabbit or a hamster or even a turtle.

Loves to braid her siblings' hair (she was the one who braided Venti's hair).

Loves trivia games and "educational" TV shows.

So you may have noticed that Tsaritsa is not there and how I mentioned only 6 siblings. So don't worry because here she is. I present to you Aunt Tsaritsa! Plus someone else…

??? Archon ( Tsaritsa) - She's their dad's sister and she's probably around 40… I don't know it's not polite to ask a woman her age! (Cheeky…)

"Tsaritsa" is not her name but almost everyone calls her that. (This is her username/nickname on social networks). But she is called by her nickname so much to the point that Nahida doesn't know what her real name is.

Pretty much rich.

She is this aunt who seems to be leading or a cult, or a pyramid scheme or multi level marketing. Or all together it's not clear…

He didn’t understand what was going on… How did this happen? Who found her? He had made sure himself to hide her! Protect her!

Weaving between cars, hearing the annoyed honks, he didn’t care. Everything was going too fast, even though he was going over 100, it still felt so slow. Feeling the wind of a car barely missing him, his eyes shimmering the insane purple red.

Sirens sounded out behind him, Sebastian glaring back momentarily. Screaming sounded out around him, people going mad and insane. Usually Sebastian hated using his father’s madness curse, but at this moment he didn’t care. The only person on his mind was his mother.

“Mom?? What’s wrong?? Hey! Don’t leave with that? Why aren’t you answering-“

“Sorry mommy dearest can’t come to the phone right now.”

“I swear… if you hurt her…”

“Come find me.”

“MOM!”

He ran inside of the house, panicking at seeing the destroyed house. His eyes widened, feeling the tears pooling in his eyes. The red liquid running down his face. When he’s overtaken by his father’s insanity, his tears are thick and red like blood.

There was things broken, glass and broken wood across the floor. He was shaking in anger, the plants in the broken pot were beginning over grown- thorns scratch across the wooden floor.

“Mom…”

Growing up, Sebastian was close to his mother. His mother was his idol, always seeing her taking care of anything and everything by herself. He had never remembered much of Di before meeting him once he was an adult.

He remembered the smell of grapes, the sweet scent that always seemed to lingered. He remembered the color purple, such a deep royal purple and the color of deep wine red. He remembered the sound of his voice, a velvety smooth voice.

At first he always hated his dad, growing up with anger for someone leaving them. But his mother wouldn’t let him hate his father, always explaining that it wasn’t his choice and not to blame the god for leaving them. How could he hate the god when his mother protected him? Sebastian never understood why, but he knows when he hadn’t gotten to Camp Half-Blood.

There she was… Laying on the floor, still. It felt like his heart got stuck in his throat, making his way over quickly to kneel by her side. Blood staining her skin, more drops of crimson falling on her skin as he cried above her. “Mom… mom please I need you to open your eyes, please please please.”

He begged, hands clumsily shaking her as his words were jumbling up. His hands getting stained with her blood, sobbing and begging for her to wake up. Begging the gods to bring her back, begging anyone not to take her away. “Please please… I can’t lose her, I can’t.”

“No matter what happens hun, know I’m always here for ya.” His mother said as they were cooking in the kitchen, he laughed while walking up behind her. Stealing a bite of the stew, grinning at her. “That sounds so cheesy ma.”

“I’m serious bud.”

“But you’re not here now… are you ma?” He whispered, watching her body burn as he held her necklace in his hand. The boxing gloves, an old gift from his father to her, something she kept dear to her heart. His other hand flicked two gold coins into the fire. Already knowing people in his miles of radius was going crazy. His mother was his anchor, the reason he didn’t start anything drastic and the reason he always come home.

“Safe travels mother.”

Now that she was gone… Sebastian was going to show what Dionysus’ insanity really looked like. Taking off his tracking watch and throwing it into the fire as well.

I feel him being good at many trades. But not really a master in them. He's legitimate. But people are assholes not listening to him. Especially if you add fantasy politics. The point of world Building is to actually build a believable world and people and characters. Not just make it plot convenient for the masses.

“Kill… him… who the fuck would want him dead?” Leon asked quietly as he stared at the familiar face in the holograph, jaw tightening. The same person that seemed to care for him, that was playful tease. “This right here is a demon, you’ve never been hesitant before. Should I send in someone else?”

“No. I got it.” No heard feelings… This wasn’t personal. It was just business. Turning his head, the blue covered him from his chest and sending him jumping.

“There you are~ was wondering when you were going to visit me!” Raiden teased with a purr, arms wrapped around his waist as Leon glanced down. It wasn’t personal… It wasn’t… It was just a job… He always knew how to get a job done.

“Hey, you there?” Raiden whispered, noticing the distant reaction from Raiden. Lifting his hand up to gently cup Leon’s cheek, electric blue eyes closing on instinct as he leaned against Raiden’s hand. The sword beginning to materialize in his hand. “What’s wrong?”

Raiden whispered, worried about Leon. Becoming to realize when he’s quiet that it’s not a good sign. Leon didn’t response, enjoying the touch on his face- enjoying the soft pulse that he could feel Raiden. That’s how Leon always knew he was a sweet man, because of the energy he gives off.

Before Raiden could ask again, Leon was suddenly standing up straight and taking off his hat to cover Raiden’s face suddenly. Sending them both jumping and Raiden quickly clung onto his back, Leon covering his mouth as he looked around the empty hotel room. “Okay, you gotta explain what’s going on! Now!”

Raiden said sternly, crossing his arms as he watched Leon cross the room to close the curtains. Locking the hotel room, Leon finally turning around with the sword disappearing into thin air. “Why did you have that out…?”

“Someone wants you dead.”

“You were going to kill me?!” Raiden yelled out, on edge and watching Leon closely. Leon sighed, sitting at the table and tapping his finger against the wooden surface. “I don’t know…”

“What do you mean you don’t know? Who was it that even gave you the job?”

“I don’t know. I don’t take client names, it’s keeps everything confidential.” Raiden crossed his arms, feeling hurt and moving over to lay in the bed. Leon watched him and his eyes widened when he realized that there was only one bed in the room. I jumped in the wrong room…

Leon thought, putting his head in his hand. This was gonna be an annoying and uncomfortable night just sleeping in the wooden chair. But it seemed like Raiden was already on the same wavelength. “Get over here Leon.”

“What? But I thought hate me right now.”

“No, you didn’t kill me did you? And you took me away, which means you’re going against the job and protecting me. So come over here and protect me.” Raiden said with patting the bed, Leon moving away from his chair to sit on the bed. The incubus watched Leon, wrapping his arms around Leon and leaning against his shoulder. “You’re gonna stay… right?”

“Yea, I’m not leavin’ ya.” Raiden smiled, kissing his cheek and hopping off of the bed and moving into the bathroom. Leon watched him leave, rubbing his forehead as he covered his face. I’ve never went against a hunt before…

He thought, wondering what was going on with him. Tense while sitting on the bed, closing his eyes to get a moment of relaxing- trying to figure out what the next step is.

And when Raiden left the bathroom, he saw Leon what looked like to be asleep. Crawling onto the bed, watching Leon and leaning close to him. “Leon~ the shower’s ready for you.”

He whispered, Leon glancing through his fingers and silently gulping when he saw the bare chest of Raiden. Eyes following the drop of water going down his chest and getting up from the bed, adjusting the waistband of his jeans. Moving quickly into the bathroom to turn the shower cold, getting in while shaking his head to shake off droplets of water.

Each mafia in my archon mafia au have their own headquarters and ways of dealing with... issues, as they would say.

Mondstat: as mentioned in previous posts, mondstats mafia has a front in the church of favonious, their main hq meanwhile is hidden within old mondstat and protected by devalin. Their mo in terms of the rare killings they do is suffocation.

Liyue: the adepti have various hideouts and safehouses all over liyue, but the main hq is junyun karst, their mo is burying most of the body underground and depending on who did it it may only be the head sticking out (zhongli) or all the body parts seperate and sticking out (xiao, shenhe).

Inazuma: within inazuma pretty much every religious site is a front for a mafia, the raidens have grand narukami shrines, and the watasumi have their shrine. The kamisatos have their estate and the komore teahouse. the raidens deal with people just like lightning: quick, painfuly and with alot of electricity, while the watasumi and kamisatos perfer the classic stabing and poisoning respectively.

Sumeru: sumerus mafia has pretty much the entire forrest at their disposal, but with the favor of the ¹aranara, they use varnara as a hq they can fall back to. to help prove their point and keep the public in their favor instead of killing anybody they just stick em in trees with the aranaras help.

Fontaine: with the mafia in control of the goverment the need for a hideout decreases drastically, but still the spina de rosula have many-a safe houses in possion and the underground of the court. If you somehow piss off the spina de rosula, avoid the ensuing court order, warrant, and gardes sent for your arrest, then you may get a personal visit from furina making sure your sleeping with the fishes. Aka shes gonna drown ya. be thankful its not nuevellette whod just cut you in half with his water jet of a charged attack.

The fatui: northland bank being a very popular and widespread bank allows for the fatui to get from nation to nation without arousing suspicion while also being very profitable. If you anger the fatui, any loans you may have with northland bank may spike dramatically in interest rates, if you escalate the situation to the point that a harbinger gets personally sent after you? Then might as well write your will now because you wont be escaping the cold fury of the fatui.

Abyss order: the abyss orders main hq is in well... the abyss. Though they do have safe houses in the chasm and ekdnomiya due to how dangerous the abyss can be. the abyss order loves to use monster "accidents" to deal with their targets.

¹without the archons being gods of the elements in this au the aranara wouldnt just blindly follow nahida, but with the mafia in sumeru focusing a large amount of their efforts in stopping the pollution of sumeru they are willing to work togother to help save the forrests.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID THE TRUTH.

I admit that i enjoyed act 3 but it feels like really rushed i have so much complain with that.

The build up until act 2 was so good it give us so much premise but the final blow si meh. Sorry that i want to share thing long rant with you

1. Why the final talk is with yae, no offense to her but we need ei to explain not to mention she witness khaenriah downfall so she can give us more information, i feel like they do it for the plot armor so they can just keep dragging this

2. So many things that quite inconsistant, the shogun is show no mercy to anyone that even did a little thing outside what she think its right, how come she can still have a talk with signora, when sara is falling like that, and also there is no clarification about sara right now.

The traveler was so done at first they refuse to help thoma and ayaka at the beginning. But they seem so happy and forget everything how come they are not RAGE ( okay maybe this is to bias and personal) when this nation provide nothing about our siblings information and also why they are not mention anything about their problem in ei stroy quest. Its nonsense! She is right in front of youu, ask about your siblings, ask about khaenriah, ask about ukmown god!!. How come they can just forget like that. Also mihoyo really waste the potential about twin things i thing ei will give us so much help bcs of the sympathy that we both rn lost our twin but noooo.

3. Kokomi seem lost some brain cell, she make a very succesfull grand intro but she become meh in act 3, how come a great strategist like her let the sus sponsorship slip just bcs they are desperate, not to mention her screen time is really small and her role seem so unsignificant and it feels lile she is a plain npc.

4. The awesome world quest that we have done doesnt get any mention at all! Inazuma owe us so much with cleansing sakura, thunder sakura, tatarigami, obarashi quest. It has so much potential that yae or ei or anyone else aknowledge what traveler has been done but nooo.

cracks knuckles... i suppose it's time for my promised dissertation. interestingly enough, you touched on a lot of the main issues i had with chapter III.

i think that if i had to pin the main issue, it's a lack of overall cohesiveness? we were jumping all over the place without the chance to ever flesh things out. inazuma is a smaller cast, but i feel like we didn't get to see any of them shine. since i'm most interested in the genshin characters, i'll break down my problems by going over everyone and their (lack) of impact on the story.

was ayaka not questioned or placed under suspicion for being close to thoma before his escape? i wanted to see her broken up over her duties as they relate to the yashiro commission, paired with having someone she genuinely cares about in danger. it would've been an interesting struggle if she was forced to choose one or the other. instead she just kinda took a back seat.

speaking of thoma, i don't even have anything to say, because he just... was there? for .0001 seconds. said "lol this sucks ig" and that's about it. i know we're going to get a story for him in the future since he's a 5* but i'm not getting my hopes up 😭 then in the raiden shogun's character story, man is peachy keen! be upset with the raiden shogun! have some inner conflict! even if it's just using loaded language because he's under surveillance for going against the raiden shogun, that'd be so cool. saying something like,

"Traveler, what's with that expression? Oh please, there's nothing to worry about. We're under the Statue of the Omnipresent God's protection. Nothing bad has ever happened here." *wink*

i also don't know what to say about gorou. he was... there....... i think. what is he fighting for? what are the stakes for him? what makes him place so much trust into kokomi? i'm out of things to say about him because i don't remember anything he did or said.

kokomi... oh kokomi... i was so hyped. so excited. i thought that maybe we could see a foil to the raiden shogun. that she'd have a moment where she's forced to realize, just like her opponent, sacrifices must be made that will hurt people who will never understand why she made them. or maybe something to show her military prowess. but instead she just accepts a mysterious patron's help (?), sees her people aging like the grateful dead from JJBA, and goes oh well. that sucks. what can ya do. oh bye traveler i guess, good luck with that. ????????????? HUH... similar case to thoma where she's gonna get a character story but like. she won't be the leader of the resistance anymore. that was her whole shtick. they took her shtick away. also she forced me to interact with more NPCs whose names i've already forgotten so i'm tilted about that still.

KUJOU SARA... AN INJUSTICE. A DISGRACE. a slap to my woman loving face. the build up was there. yae miko's comments about sara probably knowing the tenryou commission is involved in shady dealings, but is choosing not to think about it. sara being forced to confront reality and challenge her adopted father with the truth. being able to blaze a new path for herself in the process. when she started running to the raiden shogun i was ultra hyped up. sara, a devotee to the shogun for so long, was about to see her god interacting with the same people who led inazuma to this awful state. how would she react? would she stay ignorant, like yae miko so coyly said, choosing to look away in favor of following her god's footsteps? or would she be forced to recognize the raiden shogun isn't as divine as she once thought, and challenge her belief system?

we open the door to see the raiden shogun. the loading screen ensues. the camera pans to the ominous room, clouded in darkness, hinting at the ominous confrontation that is to come. the music takes a serious timbre. and then...

well fuck that potential character arc i guess. (we still don't know what sara made of any of this since she poofed out of existence from the story at this point)

kazuha also was handed a similar treatment. we've been with him for a while longer now. he is our introduction into inazuma, the one who first gets us emotionally involved by regaling us with the bittersweet tale of friendship that led him to becoming a wanted criminal. a kind soul who loves nature yet was dealt a cruel hand by fate, forced to watch his home nation turn into a hostile place, where his dear friend ultimately perished as a result. we get the scene with his friend's vision lighting back up. he parries a block from the raiden shogun, in the same area where his friend was killed by her. the parallels. the drama. except this time, he wasn't too late. he protected the traveler where he "failed" to protect his friend in the past. did he feel redemption at this? or was it a bittersweet reminder of what could've been?

WELL i guess we'll never know because we didn't get to talk to him again 😭 idk who got a bait and switch worse, him or sara. jesus christ mihoyo.

then we have signora. why is the raiden shogun talking to her? does she know about the gnosis being taken, and if she doesn't, what was her plan to get it from the archon? what does she think about scaramouche? and oh, okay, we're fighting here now. good fight + god tier music. pog pog. okay, now we've beaten her up, and raiden shogun wyd— wait no not signora her lore is still on CUPS not YET raiden shogun and— ah she's dead. okay. non nerds who didn't read artifact lore are going to know nothing about her. signora has such an interesting story, and yet... well. ok.

then we get raiden shogun redemption (?) arc. i was hype for this as well, though at that point, idk why i bothered being hype. i knew they were gonna do a cute power of friendship something or another, and i'm good with that, so long as it's executed well. what i was envisioning was like seven different buffs to correspond with the seven different visions, the dreams of those whose ambitions were stolen serving as the spear to penetrate the raiden shogun's heart of stone. maybe a hydro vision giving us extra healing for a time, with the voice acting over it being like,

"Even if the rest of the world forgets us, let our will carry you through this one final time. Succeed where we couldn't, Traveler."

so on and so forth.

but instead we got— you get the idea at this point. why bother spelling it out anymore.

at that point i was surprised the raiden shogun didn't go "oopsie woopsie!! we made a fucky wucky!!!" because that was the vibe i was getting. i love ei, don't get me wrong, but i wanted to see her challenged with what she had done to inazuma in the past year. maybe meeting NPC #2345259 who lost her sister to the vision decree or something, reminding ei of the love she held for her sister... being forced to come to terms with the extent of what she's done in pursuit of eternity.

anyway. please for the love of god mihoyo hire better writers for the main story. that is all i ask. thank you.
