And other times Scott asks Heather out just to get "shot down faster than a fly swatter" (his words not mine), then everyone starts having a debate on whatever or not Duncan is truly a jerk or just misunderstood which results in Cody and Gwen getting together with Courtney trying to pull Gwen away from Cody just for Scott to say 'nope' and put himself in front of Gwen and Cody like a human shield to protect their love from Courtney.

Wind isn’t afraid of thunderstorms. Legend isn’t either.

“Wind?” Legend peeked his head in from the hallway. Wind didn’t jump—definitely not! “Wild sent me to get you for dinner. What are you doing back here by yourself?“

“I’m not hungry,” Wind said dismissively. He turned his gaze back to the window, watching the rain pound the glass frame with apprehension. Waiting for the flash of lightning that preceded his least favourite sound in the world, next to Aryll crying.

Rather than take the hint and leave, Legend slipped into the room, joining him on the cushioned window seat. “Everything okay? You’re always hungry,” he added teasingly.

“Fine,” Wind snapped.

Legend hummed, turned his gaze out to the storm. A flash of lightning lit up the land and Wind flinched. “Hm? Are you afraid of storms?”

Wind scoffed, tried to play it off. “No.”

“Me neither,” Legend said, but when thunder rattled the window, they both jumped, eyes wide with alarm. Legend kept his gaze outside, but Wind couldn’t miss the fear in his eyes, mirroring what lay within his own.

Taking a chance, Wind tentatively pushed himself closer to Legend, leaned into his side. When Legend didn’t push him away, rather wrapped an arm around his shoulders, Wind let himself be drawn closer into Legend’s side, resting his head over Legend’s shoulder. Whether Legend intended to comfort Wind or himself, it didn’t matter. Wind appreciated the company regardless.

Another flash of lightning, and they both braced themselves for the terrible crash that followed. Legend squeezed him tighter.

“This is a beautiful storm, isn’t it?” Legend asked, keeping his eyes on the window. “Do you want to watch it together?”

Wind smiled, snuggled farther into Legend’s side. “Yeah.”
