Mom probably has better safehouses.” She really tried to look for a positive way to express her opinion about the place they were at the moment, but she couldn't, just as she couldn't avoid making the sarcastic comment instead. Glancing sideways at her half sister, she decided to continue. “But it could be worse, I suppose. So I won’t complain.”

And it really could be worse. At least they were safe there for now. They could rest and plan their next steps. That’s all that should matter, anyway. Scarlett walked around for a bit, then placed her bow and her quiver against the wall. “I'll take the couch.”

I love Raph and haven’t said that enough so to be more specific I love that Raph is a soft boy who loves bear plushies, a gross boy who eats an assortment of things that are definitely better left alone, a smart boy who is more than capable of taking down villains through planning and fortitude alike, a strong boy who is dedicated to training his muscles and fighting prowess, a teenage boy who loves his brothers but is more than happy to tease and roughhouse with them, an angry boy who sometimes lets his anger take a hold of him to cover the fear, a gentle boy who is generous with hugs and affirmations to those he loves, a capable boy who takes on more than should ever be expected of a teenager, a good boy who just wants to be a hero and slowly comes to realize the cost of that duty, a good boy who has no reservations about putting himself in the way of harm coming to his family, a good boy who’s a great brother and son and person and deserves only the best the world has to offer.

I like to think that Curly and Jimmy had parallel lives on earth.

That Curly was an only child and his parents died shortly after he became a captain. They got to see his biggest accomplishment but he had no one to really celebrate it with after. Jimmy has siblings and his parents and they didn’t care when he got the co-pilot job cause he’s just the back up. Sure they’re happy for him but no reason to celebrate.

They could both barely afford rent. That’s how it is that late in capitalism and the world the live. The difference is Curly could down size, Jimmy would end up down on the curb. Jimmy had flings and Curly had partners. Both fleeting but Curly pulled away and they left Jimmy.

I like to think they lived parallel to each other in a way they both noticed. Curly felt a kinship and Jimmy felt resentful. Curly worked to make a good deal with what he had and Jimmy scorned his dealt cards and wanted the hand he thought Curly had made.

The Young Justice learns about a new experiment going on at Cadmus once again involving cloning and decides to go rescue the clones. They expertly break into the facility avoiding all alarms only to find out that they trigger anyway. Instead of a voice coming on over the intercoms announcing intruders though, it instead announces an escape. What?

The team continues navigating the base until they come across two kids. The older boy can't be older than 8 while the girl being tugged along behind him looks around 5. The boy narrows his eyes and his body tenses up.

"You're definitely not guards. Who are you?" He questions.

It's Superboy who steps up and says "We're the Young Justice. We came here to rescue you."

The boy doesn't seem to believe them but the girl immediately gets excited. Apparently she couldn't wait to meet real life superheroes. Especially Superboy. That means whatever Cadmus was doing with the kids, they'd already implanted knowledge of the outside world in them. That didn't bode well.

The team decides to push that to the back of their minds for now and focus on the mission. They manage to convince the boy (with the help of the girl) to come with them and they get the two out of the facility. Of course this is after they take all the information they can from the servers (Thanks Robin).

As they get both kids to the medical wing on the Watchtower, the boy introduces himself as Danny and the little girl as his sister Ellie. Connor's never seen clones with such a close bond before and he can admit he's a little jealous that he and Match don't have that kind of relationship. Still he's just happy they rescued the two.

Now to find out who they're clones of and what Cadmus wanted to use them for.

Today I just learned about Barriss Day, and I wanted to sketch something quick, I might grieve it the full color treatment but I’m pretty satisfied with how this one turned out.

Blood Gulch Rules of Inter-team Interaction #256 : A Red Soldier in ORANGE armor is allowed to kidnap/steal/confiscate a Blue Soldier in YELLOW armor for team moral, patience and sanity. Blue soldiers in YELLOW armor will be safely returned to Blue team after moral, patience and sanity improve.

Technically speaking, the rule was written with the assumption that it would apply to Kai and only Kai. Rule number two-fifty-six existed solely so both teams had an excuse to let Grif and his sister hang out without having to deal with the hassle of 'hostage exchange' and surrendering over and over. And to get Kai out of Blue base when Church couldn't stand her AND Caboose at the same time. But Simmons triple checked and, you know, technically speaking, Washington does wear yellow armor. So it totally counts. Suck it Blue!
