NOTHING LIKE DOING NOTHING ..WITH YOU! ♡
synopsis: living 'nothing' by bruno major with katsuki bakugo
notes: this song is so peak 2020 covid holy time capsule. this is so not proofread but im so tired i cant

“dumb conversation, we lose track of time”
"if two mind readers read each other's minds, whose mind would they be reading?"
katsuki looks down at you on his chest judgmentally. "..hah?"
"like, what do you think would happen? would they just hear their own thoughts because that other person is reading their thoughts?"
katsuki scoffs. you think he's going to tell you to shut up and go to sleep.
"but their own thoughts wouldn't actually be their own thoughts because they're reading that other person's mind, so they'd hear the other person's thoughts, yeah?" he grumbles, to your surprise.
"..but then isn't it the same thing? they'd hear their own thoughts because the other person's thoughts are their own."
"no, wouldn't they..? oh, wait. ..fuck, i dunno. i'm not a damn mind reader."
"maybe both of their heads would explode! or maybe they'd both faint! or maybe they'd hear everything all at once!"
katsuki rolls his eyes affectionately at your rambling and smooths a hand over your hair. "said i dunno. shut up and go to sleep, dumbass."
"'kay, goodnight."
"night."
"..."
"..."
"maybe they'd hear an audio feedback! like when you're calling someone but their phone is right there so it makes that big sound that sounds like 'BEEEE-'"
"I SAID SHUT UP AND GO TO SLEEP."
-
“have i told you lately i’m grateful you’re mine?”
he says it in the quiet, when the tv’s humming low and you’re half-asleep.
he's not even looking at you, just playing with your fingers in his lap, like it slipped out without permission.
your breath catches. you squeeze his hand.
“no,” you whisper. “say it again?”
he glances at you, cheeks a little pink.
"said 'm grateful you're mine, dumbass." he mumbles, pressing a kiss to your hair to hide his flush. "feel like i don't say it enough."
because he is. he's so, so grateful that you're in his life. he's all explosions and anger and you're soft touches and sweet kisses. you see him, really see him, like no one else does. you're the yin to his yang, light to his dark, and the reason he likes living.
sometimes, katsuki feels guilty. guilty that he stuck such a good person with a guy like him. worries you'd be better off with someone else.
but when you whisper, "'m grateful you're mine, too," into his chest and snuggle into him and breathe him in like he's your life force, he thinks he might be ok.
-
“we'll watch the notebook for the seventeenth time”
“again?” he groans, even as he presses play.
“yes again,” you grin.
you’ve seen it so many times that you know exactly when he’s about to scoff.
he always hates on allie, saying she's "so fuckin' annoying. stop fuckin' squealin!'" he respects noah's drive, but never fails to hate on his letter-writing. always says it’s too much for a two-second romance.
but for all his hating, he never says no.
-
“i'll say 'it's stupid,' then you'll catch me crying”
you always feel him burying his face into your hair during the rain scene.
says it's "just a coincidence" whenever you call him out, but you know it's because he's a closet crybaby and actually thinks its all so romantic and sweet and meaningful. but god forbid anyone finds out that the bakugo katsuki is capable of feeling any emotion other than hot, fiery rage, so he hides crying in you.
it makes your heart swell, because it sort of feels like he's trusting his more vulnerable emotions with you. he trusts you. he loves you.
so you both sit there and cry together, watching a movie you both know the exact ending of curled up with your legs and hearts intertwined.
-
“we're not making out on a boat in the rain”
just on a secondhand couch in your tiny dorm room, blanket slipping to the floor, popcorn bowl between you.
he's soft and sweet and gentle, the complete opposite of what you'd expect. he holds you and kisses you in a way that makes your stomach flutter and your heart squeeze. it's less like he's trying to devour you, and more like he's trying to savor you. like you're precious, and he values you more than anything else in the world.
(he does. and he doesnt like the rain, anyways.)
-
“or in a house i painted blue”
you're both still stupid high schoolers living in dorm rooms, but katsuki knows he wants to marry you.
he wants to give you the whole damn world, or at the very least, whatever life you want to live. he scoffs and denies it when people call him whipped, but he knows damn well deep down that he would build that stupid blue house for you if you so much as said "please."
and katsuki is so much more of a secret romantic than people think. he doesn't just want you in a short-term or lustful sense. he wants you. all of you. the whole you. he wants to build a life with you, have a family with you, buy a house with you. so, as much as katsuki enjoys being two stupid teenagers in love, sneaking into each other's dorm rooms and cuddling on twin-sized beds, katsuki also wants to grow old together in a house of your own.
-
“but there's nothing like doing nothing with you.”
katsuki thinks his favorite times with you are in the slow moments.
he likes thrill and adrenaline, sure. he likes seeing you all dolled up and pretty for a fancy date, yes. he likes watching your reactions when he does romantic grand gestures, of course.
even still, in his mind, there's nothing more perfect than this.
you're in his hoodie and on his lap, face buried into his chest. the movie is buzzing in the background, but you both have long since abandoned it. his hand is slipped under your hoodie, rubbing slow, soothing circles the way he knows you like at your bare skin. your hearts and stomachs are full with the dinner you both cooked together, and you'll probably fall asleep soon. katsuki can tell by the way your muscles feel relaxed and boneless.
you're not doing anything fancy. no passionate makeout, no makeup, no rapidly beating hearts.
it doesn't matter. this is his favorite thing. because truly, there's nothing like doing nothing with you.

masterlist rbs + comments appreciated!

toothache
summary: Steve gets his wisdom teeth removed. You dote from his bedside, even if, post-anaesthesia, he seems to have completely forgotten you’re his girlfriend.
[3.6k + established!relationship + fem!reader]

There’s a faint beep from a machine tucked in the corner, but other than that the room is quiet.
As quiet as it can be, at least. Hospitals are never truly silent, you think. The whole building hums with the coursing thrum of rushing doctors and the buzz of fluorescent lights; a hive for busy bees.
Steve’s room is decently tucked away from any of the busyness of the some of the more frantic floors, thankfully.
Occasionally, a nurse does a round and you spy them walking by through the slats in the blinds. But besides that, it’s just you and your twiddling thumbs to keep yourself company until Steve wakes up.
The nurse who’d let you in left maybe 20 minutes ago — about how long she said it would take for Steve to wake back up. You don’t have a watch on, but the room has a big clock that ticks silently, the second hand juddering around the clock face.
You’ve been watching it, waiting to put said twiddling thumbs into action the moment Steve stirs.
And if you’re not keeping track of the time, you’re studying your boyfriend’s face.
Steve looks a bit silly and a bit lovely all at once.
He’s out cold in the hospital bed and his cheeks are stuffed with cotton, making him resemble a chipmunk, to stem the bleeding in his mouth. His face is lax and his cheek is slightly squished against the pillow.
There’s a touch of drool from the corner of his mouth. Well, just a touch is generous of you to say.
You’d wiped it away initially, doting and caring, but Christ almighty, he’s definitely out cold. It’s a river of slobber.
Your search for tissues was futile and after the second time you’d wiped it with your sleeve, you decided the pillow is soaking it all up just fine.
He must be on something really strong. Deep roots, the doctor told you whilst explaining why Steve was under so much anaesthesia.
Your lips purse worriedly as your eyes roam over his face. You hope the whole procedure won’t hurt him much.
Steve’s been through the wringer these last couple years, so much that one would expect something as minuscule as a wisdom teeth removal shouldn’t warrant too much worry — except it has the opposite effect on you. Left on your own, your worry grows exponentially.
You eye the clock again.
How long since that nurse left again? How long before Steve’s been asleep for too long? He's had one too many concussions, which you did tell the doctors about, but maybe they missed something. Maybe you should hit the call button anyway.
The clock ticks forward.
A nurse passes by the window.
On the bed, Steve’s fingers twitch.
A breath of sigh presses its way out your lungs, warm relief flushing through your chest, and you reach forward to click the call button in an instant. You’re on your feet quickly, crowding in closer.
The cool bar of the bed presses into your upper thighs as you reach across it to hold Steve’s hand.
Evidently groggy, Stave’s eyelashes flutter open. You’d think he looks like a Disney princess if his mouth wasn’t gaping open and drooling with blood. He groans, long and languid, reeking of pain and the subsequent painkillers.
Before he's even opened his eyes, he's shifting about. The muscles in his neck tense as he tries to lift his head.
“Hey, hey," You speak softly, thumb rubbing gently across the back of his hand. Your other hand brushes against his forehead, urging him to lay back down. "Just take it easy there, tiger."
Steve makes another gravelly groany noise but relents against your touch, sinking back into the pillow in one magnificent slump. His eyes are open, hazel peering at you curiously as he blinks slowly.
"Wuh?" He manages to say, his jaw barely moving.
Despite how you try to resist, an endeared smile pulls at your mouth.
They did say he would be a little dopey when he came to. You're just now finding out how dopey that means.
Glancing at the door, you wonder how long you should wait before hitting the call button again. You're pretty sure Steve, proactive as ever, is gonna start pulling the cotton out of his mouth as soon as he realises its there.
"—Wuh 're 'ou?—"
To Steve, perhaps, those were real words. You're not entirely sure what he's meant to say, though you hazard a guess he's asking who you are.
In the same moment you go to answer, Steve's eyes drift off to the ceiling, unfocussed.
He raises the hand you aren't holding and bumps it against his jaw, then releases a long, drowsy owwwwwww in response.
Are you gonna lose good girlfriend points for laughing at this? Your lips purse together once more, this time buttoning in your laughter.
You rescue Steve from himself, reaching out and grabbing the other hand before he can prod himself in the face again.
"Wah 'appened?" He says, his eyes sluggish as they drag back over to you. It looks like it takes immense effort and you reward him with a loving squeeze of his hand.
"Your wisdom teeth, baby. You got them taken out."
Steve's eyebrows rise at a snail's pace, his face slowly forming an astounded expression.
"My teef?" He says, baffled. "'Ey took them?"
He extracts his hand from yours, raising it back up as if he's going to search his mouth for the very missing teeth.
You capture it midway up, tugging it back down. "Careful, you don't wanna touch it again. It'll be very sore."
Steve, bamboozled by just how exactly his hand rapidly changed course, takes a long moment to register your words. He blinks, one eye at a time, like a frog.
"Ow?"
You can't resist a little grin, nodding. "Yeah, baby, ouch."
That seems to get the message across. Steve doesn't try to raise his hand again, however, instead he realises that you're holding both of them. He's very unsubtle, half-lidded eyes peering down the bed with a suspicious squint to them.
Then, very slowly, he begins to pull both his hands away.
You let him do so, amusedly releasing your soft grip. Maybe hand-holding — usually one of Steve's favourite things — isn't so nice when you're high as a kite. You only want your boyfriend to be as comfortable as possible.
Except, when you glance back up at Steve's face, the narrowed, suspicious gaze is now directed at your face.
"Y'ur nice." He slurs, the compliment completely at odds with his sceptical demeanour. His hands are still pulled to his chest, tucked up awkwardly. "'N gongeous. But—"
He manages to raise one finger up straight, the only movement of his hands.
"Am—"
The end of his sentence is stolen by the hiss of the door, pushed open by the same nurse from earlier. You didn't catch her name.
She's a nice looking woman, dressed in green scrubs, and she smiles upon seeing Steve up and awake on the bed.
"Why hello there, Steve," She greets casually, sidling up to the other side of Steve's bed with a clipboard in hand. "How are we feelin'?"
Steve's turned to face her but you can see the clear hesitation in his face, evidently searching for any hint of recognition.
The hands held up against his chest sway a bit. Steve blinks slow.
"Who 'r 'ou?" He repeats the same question he asked you in the exact same cadence.
The nurse smiles at that, which is a nice way of letting your anxiety know you're not allowed to be too worried.
"I'm your nurse, Marissa. We met a few hours ago before your surgery. Do you remember that?"
It's a careful probe, seeing just how much Steve's recall is working. He thinks about it real hard, eyes staring in the distance as his tongue poking out a bit in concentration, before he moves his head in a way that's probably a no.
"That's okay, Steve. Everyone reacts a little differently to general, but it shouldn't last longer than a few hours." She reassures him.
The clipboard in her hands has a few pieces of paper clipped to it and she flicks through them. You sort of wish you had Steve's hand to hold, just to comfort yourself. The bar on his hospital bed will have to make do.
When Marissa speaks, she glances over at you, talking to both of you. "Looks like everything went to plan, no hitches or issues. You'll be free to take him home in another 20 minutes or so—so long as nothing crops up."
You nod, grateful to hear that. Though, you're not looking forward to wrangling your loopy boyfriend out the door and to the car when he's in this state.
"Thank you very much." You express the gratitude for both you and Steve, knowing he's hardly thinking of manners at the moment. He'll thank you for it later. "I did have a—"
"—pssssssst."
You stop talking at the abrupt interruption, both you and Marissa surprised by Steve's interjection.
His attempt at a psst doesn't quite work to the normal effect and instead, he's painted his bottom lip in a bit of blood.
He's looking at Marissa, not you. One of his bunched up arms raises up to his mouth as though he's trying to cup it and hide his words. You resist the urge to pull it back down, worried he'll knock his jaw again.
Marissa, sharing a playful glance in your direction, smiles kindly at Steve.
"Yes, Steve?"
"Can 'ou tell th' nice lady," He's trying to whisper but failing miserably. "That I'm.... I'm..."
Steve scrunches up his face to try to think of a word. He regrets it quickly, another hissed and sluggish owwww leaking out as pain radiates through his face.
Your fingers curl tighter around the bar. It takes effort not to reach for his hand again — or jump in and ask Steve what he wants to say to you. He's clearly trying to be stealthy for a reason, even if it isn't working.
Marissa's pager beeps. She flashes a quick look at it, silences it, then turns back to Steve.
"I'm... 'ot bullshit." He finally spits out.
That surprises you.
Marissa, conversely, seems to be undeterred by such a proclamation. You wonder what else people have said whilst coming back up from anaesthesia. She pats Steve on the arm gently.
"No you aren't."
Steve appears to be bolstered by her agreement, his own head giving a slow nod. He's still speaking in that groggy way, not at all helped by his cotton-stuffed mouth. "Yuh, and I 'ave a— a girlfiend."
Huh?
Marissa catches on a moment before you do, a certain cheek creeping into her smile. She checks her watch, then focuses back on Steve and nods.
"Uh huh, big guy. Your girlfriend's actually here, did you know?"
As her words sink in, Steve's eyes blow wide. He looks equal parts stunned as he does excited.
You realise why he asked who you were and withdrew his hands all at once.
Your smile dissolves into a giddy grin, entirely too endeared by Steve's unbreaking loyalty to you, even if he is barking up the wrong tree.
"S'e is?"
"Yep." Marissa says. She nods in your direction. "And she's gonna take good care of you, alright?"
You wonder if this is the most fun part of her job.
"My girlfien'..." Steve sighs quietly, his eyes hazy. You don't think you're meant to hear it.
Marissa smiles at that and finally begins to backtrack towards the door. She checks her watch again, then says to you, "15 minutes. Then you're free to go."
She waves at Steve as she's disappearing through the door. "I hope you feel better soon, Steve."
Steve makes a valiant attempt at a wave back, but his hand barely hovers above the sheets for a second before he's dropping it back down.
He sighs loudly and a little more blood freckles his bottom lip. He reaches up for his face again and you intercept.
"It'll hurt more if you touch it." You say to explain, then quickly let go of his arm.
It slumps back down and you watch as Steve's face morphs through several different expressions, from frowning distaste to a disbelieving awe.
"Are 'ou..." He asks, slurring out the word. His hand picks up off the bed to curve up, pointing a finger back at his chest. "My girlfiend?"
It comes out tinged with astonishment. You laugh without meaning to.
"Is that so hard to believe?"
Steve struggles to compute your response, given by how his eyes shift away lazily, then slide back to you, still wide.
"Yurrr lyin'," He lolls out the words. He waves one hand up, as if brushing off the joke you're supposedly telling.
"Am not!" You laugh. Then just to prove your point, you reach out and take his hand in yours, cradling it between your palms. "We're pretty serious, baby."
"Yo're 'etty," Steve counters, though pretty comes out strangely as he tries to not move his lips much.
The fact he can flirt back whilst so out of it is a feat, though it proves some of his charisma is just that inherent.
You notice, as he gazes at you, the surprise from earlier has somewhat sapped away but the awe in his face remains.
Steve's hand in yours turns over and he grips one of your thumbs tightly.
"I s'love... bein' a boyfiend," He says, deadly serious. Another roll of dribble escapes the corner of his mouth, yet somehow you're entirely captivated by his small admittances. He loves being a boyfriend.
"'ut dunno if 'mmm good at it. Am I?"
He wants to know if he's a good boyfriend. There's a little wobble in your heartstrings at his genuine concern.
You curl your fingers back around his hand tighter and nod. "Definitely."
Steve exhales a big sigh of relief, his eyes slipping shut as he gives your thumb a half-hearted squeeze.
"S'good." He mumbles.
As you soothe your fingertips over his hand, you hope his loopy mutterings aren't a manifestation of some constant worry you don't know about. It's normal to want to be a good partner. But Steve's own mention of bullshit is enough to make you unsure.
Is this what worries him? Are you not doing a good job at communicating back just how happy Steve makes you?
On the bed, Steve's eyes open again, seeking you out in languid, sleepy blinks. Upon finding you, he smiles. Well, you think he smiles.
What really happens is his face twitches and then he's making another drawn out owwww as he moves around his fresh wounds too much.
"Try not to move too much," You remind him. "It will keep making it ow, baby."
Despite what you've said, Steve continues to shift about—though you realise he's merely trying to inch closer to you. He's twisted a little, his shoulder curving towards you, but his head still laid flat.
"Can I 'it up?"
His speech is clearing up a bit, the words coming out better formed now. You nod at his request and shake off his grip on your thumb to hold his forearms, gently urging him up. It takes a moment, but he manages.
He's curved over like a shrimp, slumped and struggling to support himself.
You quickly stack the pillows behind him into more of a support and lead him to lean back against them. Steve lets you, gripping your forearms tightly as if he's afraid you'll drop him.
One settled, he releases his tight grip and gives another loud sigh. You're not fast enough to intercept his hand this time, Steve raising the back of it to wipe his mouth with.
It comes away with a smear of blood and saliva.
The volume of it must surprise Steve because he's dragging his hand back from his face, that same suspicious squint back on his face. He spots what he's wiped from his face and his eyebrows crease.
"Eeeew."
A giggle titters out of you. Steve is instantly distracted from his gross hand, his expression smoothing out as his head swings toward you.
"Hafta tell you somethin'," Steve says. His head sways a bit unsteadily as he thinks hard.
His groggy gaze draws down and up your face intently and you realise after a moment, he may have just checked you out.
"Yeah? What do you have to tell me?"
Steve nods as though he's the one who's spoken.
"Yea," He murmurs, then holds his hand up like he wants you to take it. It's the non-slobbered one, thankfully. You do take it, resuming the same soothing hold from earlier, this time intertwining your fingers.
Steve does another frog-blink, staring at your interlaced fingers. He drags his gaze up and slurps a bit as he inhales. "There waz... another lady here. But I tol' her. Tol' her."
He nods seriously, staring at you like he's waiting for you to nod along.
Your mouth twists into a poorly restrained smile. You wonder if he's talking about Marissa or if he's forgotten you were the other lady here earlier too.
"Told her what?"
"Tol' her," Steve repeats surely. He squeezes your hand and then shifts, not liking the intertwined fingers. He resumes his hold around your thumb. "I speaken."
Okay, you're getting a little bit better at decoding loopy Steve-speak, but this one? Lost on you.
You wiggle your thumb in his hold and furrow your brows a bit exaggeratedly so he can catch on that you don't quite understand.
"I," Steve slurs. He's moved his other hand up to jab himself in the chest, referring to himself — then he casts it in the direction of the door. "Taken."
It takes a moment, but his gesture is enough to clue you in. Another sugary, giddy wave singes your nerves. God, he's sweet.
You grin at him adoringly, leaning in to brush a piece of hair back from his face. Steve's skin is warm beneath your touch.
"You're told her you're spoken for, huh?" You coo softly, petting his hair back.
Steve preens at your understanding, managing a nod and a bright-eyed adoring gaze at you.
You run your hand over his hair again because he seems to like it and his eyes flutter under your sweet ministrations. His head nearly lolls back to dip into the pillow, but he catches it at the last moment.
"Yuh," He says absently. He nods again, focusing hard on meeting your eye. "Tol' her." He repeats again.
It seems it's very important to Steve that you know he would never ever think about cheating on you — even if it's with, well, you.
"Thank you, baby," You say, meaning it completely.
Steve smiles as much as he can, a sluggish half-motion that somehow makes him look even dopier. His eyes wander and he catches sight of the glob of blood and spit atop of his hand.
His eyes widen almost comically. He frowns worriedly and picks his hand up, holding it out in front of him, "Oughhh, wuh 'appened?"
The genuine concern in his words and his apparent very short-term memory makes it hard not to snort in amusement. Squeezing his hand again, you try to remain composed.
"Your wisdom teeth, remember? They took them out because they were hurting you."
"You're s' nice," Steve says, dropping his hand limply, the blood on it quickly forgotten. His fingers around your thumb tighten, giving another weak squeeze. "'M glad you're my girlfiend."
"I'm glad you're my boyfriend." You assure him sweetly.
"Yea?" Steve's gone back to that slow blink. He leans forward, shoulder hunched over, the whole motion seeming conspiratorial. He tries to whisper again. "Have'a 'nother secret."
Your brows raise. Another secret?
"Wanna tell me it?" You ask.
Steve nods sagely. He beckons you in closer with a limp wave of his hand, tugging slightly on your thumb. You lean in closer, unable to hide your grin at his antics.
"I," Steve pauses for a long, long moment. You watch as his eyes track back and forth sluggishly, very clearly trying to put his rapidly disappearing thoughts into order.
"I t'ink," He finally says, sounding more sure this time. "I lov' you. But shhhhhh. S'itsa secret."
Oh. Now, that is a secret. You and Steve have been dating for a while now, like you said it's serious, but not quite long enough to exchange any I love you's. Not just yet.
Only it's not really secret after all. You know.
You know in the same way you already know Steve's favourite perfume of yours and the way he likes his coffee in the morning. How he loves to hold your hand and doesn't ask, but loves it when you kiss him on the temple.
You've never asked. Enough time spent together and you just know these things.
Like how you love Steve and he loves you.
You grin brazenly, not even trying to stop it now.
"I'll keep your secret safe," You promise him. "Wanna hear one of my secrets? I love you too."
Steve clings to your hand preciously and his face takes on an expression which you can only describe as utterly starry-eyed. His hazel eyes, bright and less foggy now, stare at you owlishly. You'd give a handful of pennies to know what he's thinking right now.
"S'good," He finally says. Which makes you bark in laughter, as if he's saying glad that's settled.
"Yea' s'good." He inhales a big, slurping kind of breath and exhales. His shoulders sit a little more relaxed now and you wonder how long he's been waiting to tell you that.
You wonder more how he'll react when you tell him he spilled the beans while high out of his mind.
Then, just to spoil it — or sweeten it, depending on how you see it — he leans back over and whispers, "Wha's your name again?"

Poolverine but they dress up as each other for Halloween. I'm not just talking about swapping costumes—they go all in. They get those facial prosthetics to get each other's skin textures right, Wade goes in with makeup for detailing, and Wade wears a bodysuit while Logan wears slight platform shoes and shapewear to roughly match their builds.
They put on each other's suits and make sure the proportions are as accurate as possible. Wade even goes as far as to call in a few favors to get voice-changing abilities.
Then, Halloween, they pretend to be each other. They try to match each other's personalities and mannerisms and see if anyone can notice.
At first, you'd think it'd be obvious that they switched. But here's the thing: they know each other. Wade knows how Logan moves and talks and acts and fights. Logan knows how to predict Wade's moods and reactions and decisions. They're incredibly self-aware and in sync.
They both show up to their friend's Halloween party dressed as each other. The crowd is incredibly large because everyone invited all the people that they know, which includes Vanessa's new friends and the majority of the X-mansion.
The only person who knew off the bat was Laura. There was no hiding it from her with her sense of smell, but they didn't intend to. She was in on the joke and came to watch the shitshow in action.
When asked about their costume, "Wade" says that Deadpool is what all the kids want to dress up as for Halloween, and he was just following the trend! Besides, no need to waste money buying a costume when he has the best one right in his closet. He's the scariest to be, obviously, because Deadpool is such a fearsome name.
Logan matches Wade's pitch immaculately, curling his voice into a whine before going back to talking cheerily as if nothing happened. Nobody bats an eye, classic Wade behavior.
Any slight imperfections are hidden by the flashing lights and relaxed atmosphere and large crowd. It's hard to pick out their friends in a crowd, let alone tell the differences between their carefully crafted copycat plans.
Laura gets closer to "Logan" and asks him how "Wade" has been lately, playing along. He responds with a grunt and an exasperated but fond summary of Wade's newest hyperfixation, acting as if he didn't know any of the terminology for it.
She has to hide a shit-eating grin when some of the people who knew Logan from the X-mansion came up to greet him and ask him how he's been. Plan successful.
"Logan" reaches out and pats a few heads, lingering just long enough to show he cares but pulling away soon enough to avoid deep intimacy. He answers questions with the same gruff tone as the actual Logan, giving just enough information to satisfy their questions.
Miraculously, the night continues and they haven't been caught. This is quite frankly hilarious because the two had done their rounds with each other's friends and acquaintances and apparently knew enough about each other to answer accurately. It's a pretty big feat, and even Laura has to reluctantly admit she's impressed by how well they know each other to pull this off.
The two draw together near the end, bickering as usual and using each other's tactics. Wade has to stifle a giggle at Logan imitating his out to not break character, and Logan has to hold himself back from burying his face in his hands out of embarrassment.
The real challenge is when Vanessa comes in to greet "Wade," with her new boyfriend in tow. Because Logan knows how Wade should act: vaguely uncomfortable and awkward, cagey toward the new guy, with an undertone of yearning and regret.
He knows this, but it stings. It hurts to know that while Wade and him are living together, a part of Wade will always belong to Vanessa. He knows it's irrational and that he's the main person in Wade's life, but the thought of them together makes him feel vaguely nauseous.
But he promised Wade he'd try to do this with him. They'd made bets and everything about who would find out and who wouldn't. He didn't want to ruin his fun.
So Logan grits his teeth and shifts into character, acting a little tense but also relieved to see her. Acting a bit more closed off and tense when the new guy introduces himself, and a little embarrassed to be seen with "Logan." Guilty, almost, like he'd been caught doing something he shouldn't.
But Vanessa's expression isn't remorseful or awkward. Instead, she raises an eyebrow, crosses her arms, and asks him what's wrong. Tells him that something's clearly bothering him and that he knows he can come to her for anything.
Logan becomes confused. What was he doing wrong? Was he not giving her the "puppy dog eyes" convincingly enough? Was he not portraying the bittersweet feeling of seeing "the one who got away" well?
But then she asks him if he and "Logan" were fighting. If something was going wrong in their relationship for him to act so cagey and upset.
...And Logan is baffled. What the hell does them fighting have to do with this?
Until she continues. She tells him that she knows how much "Logan" means to him and that she knows Logan feels the same (it's obvious just in the way he looks at Wade), so she's sure they'll figure it out soon.
She chuckles and shakes her head and says that it's endearing how Wade constantly talks about Logan as if he's the only topic in the world. That she's glad he's happy and that she remembered him asking to meet her boyfriend at some point so he could "rate her taste." She pats his shoulder, placatingly, and tells him that she's always there to talk if anything happens. Then she leaves.
And oh.
Logan thought he had Wade's personality down to a science, that he knew almost everything about him. His thoughts, his feelings, his relationships. ...But apparently, he was wrong for once.
Then he takes a second to stand there and analyze his interactions with Wade. And he realizes that she was right. That Wade glancing constantly back at him when Vanessa was there wasn't awkward pining for his ex, but just Wade wanting to look at Logan.
Now that he thinks about it, Wade doesn't just do that around Vanessa. He did it around almost everyone. He'd intermittently glance at Logan with what he assumed to be embarrassment over him, but now he realizes it was endearment. Awe. Bashfulness and slight pride over getting to introduce Logan to his friends instead of being ashamed of him.
And Logan realized that maybe he didn't know everything about Wade. That maybe, some of his assumptions were based more on his own experiences and past rather than the present. That he let his jealousy and insecurity and anxiety cloud his interpretation until it became foggy, creating the same rough shape but without the structure.
...And Logan smiles, under the mask. A warm, incredulous thing. That Wade spent most of his time with Vanessa talking about him. That it was so obvious Wade loved him that everyone commented on it. He'd never had someone be proud of belonging to him before, showing him off like he was something worth coveting. It felt nice.
Eventually, he rejoined "Logan's" side. He sidled up to him and threw an arm around his shoulder, throwing out a flirty comment and cuddling closer. "Logan" let him, letting his shoulder slump and wrapping an arm around him in return.
"Wade" stared at "Logan," watching his expressions shift and the curve of his lips as they moved. He let the adoration and wonder swell up in him, seeing how accurately Wade played the part.
It was obvious that he was staring, but nobody batted an eye. They all accepted it as normal, as if it was perfectly in character for Wade to stare at Logan with full focus even while people flitted and talked around them.
When Logan leaned in to kiss Wade's shoulder, nobody said anything.
(They manage to make it through the night without anyone calling them out on their impersonation. When they reveal it the next day, everyone is shocked. It was so realistic that they couldn't even tell.
Well, almost everyone is shocked. Laura rolls her eyes and Vanessa hides a knowing smile behind the rim of her coffee cup.)

In Every Universe
Well. S2EP7 huh. What a ride. Went back to rewatch parts of it while researching for this fic and man, does it still hit as hard as ever. I suppose the sad Arcane playlist didn't help either.
Right, here it is, the longest piece I've ever written in all my years of fanfiction writing. I'm so glad Arcane existed, for all its flaws I still love the series with my whole heart and especially a certain one-eyed war criminal underground drug lord.
Playlist I listened to while writing this:
Spoilers for Arcane Season 2 Episode 7 ahead
One moment you're face to face with the arcane itself, and the next you're staring at a wooden ceiling that's somehow familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. There's something warm next to you and your confused mind registers the weight of something on your chest.
Your first instinct is to quickly free yourself, to put some distance between you and the possibly harmful object, so you lash out at it, rolling off the bed. A rather familiar sounding yelp of pain comes from your left, but your disoriented mind can't remember why it sounds so familiar.
"Easy there, love," a voice groans. Your breath catches in your throat when the figure the voice belongs to sleepily sits up, rubbing his eye.
Silco?
You shake your head. This can't be, he's dead, you've seen his body, you know for certain he's dead, but then why are you seeing this? An illusion? A trick of the mind? Hallucinations?
Your mind races through the possibilities, each more absurd than the last. 'Silco' slides off the bed, carefully approaching you as he should and you properly take in his appearance. Gone is his orange and black eye, instead white surrounds a pale yellow iris. His features are softer, sea-foam coloured eye filled with a level of concern and worry you've only seen him show before he became The Eye of Zaun.
"Love?" His voice snaps you out of your thoughts.
You narrow your eyes at him, muscles tensing. "If this is an illusion, it's a terrible one considering you can't even replicate Silco properly."
"What are you talking about, love? The last I checked, I wasn't an illusion," 'Silco' tilts his head in confusion and raises his hands in surrender. "I mean you no harm, love."
Your hands clench into fists. His words may not contain any lies you can detect but you know better than to let down your guard in unfamiliar territory. You shift your foot and lunge at him, tackling 'Silco' to the ground with a snarl. His eye widens but just like the Silco you know, he quickly regains his signature calm and throws you off.
"I don't want to hurt you, love, but you're not giving me much of a choice with that attitude of yours." 'Silco' huffs. His palms remain open but you can see his muscles tense slightly. You continue your barrage of attacks, and he counters them all with practiced ease, as though he's seen those moves a thousand times before.
The both of you dance until you gain the upper hand by pulling out a move that catches him off guard and pin him to the ground. Your hand slips to where you know he hides a dagger but your fingers find nothing, to your surprise. Taking advantage of that moment, 'Silco' rolls out from under you, panting.
"Now now, love. I know we're married but still, warn me before you start feeling me up." He flashes you a cheeky grin, something he hasn't done in a long time and leaves you even more confused. Something isn't adding up, he's both the Silco you know and isn't. He knows your fighting moves, knows how to counter them which proves that he is the Silco you know and he smells like the Silco you know — cigar ash and scotch. However his left eye is different and he doesn't carry Vander's dagger on him at all times. Wait did he say the two of you are married?
"Married?" You echo.
"Don't tell me you lost your memory," he frowns. "You're acting weird today, love, what has gotten into you?"
"You're the weird one!" You spit back. There's no sensible explanation for any of this…unless…
"Everything alright in there? I know I told you two to turn things down especially at night, some of us need to sleep." Yet another familiar voice sounds from outside the door.
Vander?
"Everything's fine, and don't worry you'll be getting the sleep you need every night," 'Silco' drawls before turning back to you. You stare wide-eyed at the door, throat tightening as emotions threaten to overwhelm you. Flashes of your past with the two brothers race through your mind, Vander's easy smile and comforting presence, Silco's sharp wit and seeming indifference towards you and Vander, your laughter and love for them both. A tear slides down your cheek and you bolt from the room, racing down the stairs you know so well and out the bar, only to be met with a city you don't recognise.
Zaun is lit up, the sun shining down on both cities as Zaunites and Piltovians alike walk past you, chatting away. The streets bustle as hawkers call out their wares and golden light shines upon the Bridge of Progress which is further littered with shops instead of blockades and enforcers. Everywhere you look, buildings stand tall and proud, colour decorates the dirty grey city you knew and your heart shatters.
This…is this what could have been?
Your vision blurs from the tears pouring down your face as it hits you. This is an alternate reality, there's no other explanation. A reality where Zaun becomes independent, co-existing as equals with Piltover. A reality where Silco and Vander's dream comes true.
You stand in the middle of the street with tear streaks on your cheeks, eyes puffy and feel so lost until someone drapes something over your shoulders. It's warm, whatever it is, and smells nice.
"I'm right here." Arms gently guide you to rest your head on a familiar shoulder. "Take all the time you need."
You're not sure why but that's all it takes for the dam to break and you find yourself sobbing hard into his shoulder. His arms wrap around you, pulling you closer and you feel his lips press against the top of your head. You hug him tightly, mind still screaming that this is all a dream, but if this is really just all a dream, you don't want to wake up.
Once you've calmed down, you lift your head and Silco smiles softly at you. "Shall we go home?"
You hum in agreement, letting him lead you back to The Last Drop. You can feel his hand resting on the small of your back, his shoulder brushing against yours and lean into the touch, grateful for the support. He feels the same as the Silco you know, and if you close your eyes, you're back there again, before the incident at the bridge, before you were forced to choose between Silco and Vander.
When you enter The Last Drop, 'Vander' slides a glass of your favourite drink towards you while 'Silco' takes a seat next to you.
"Nothing for me?" 'Silco' teases. 'Vander' laughs, but slides him a glass of scotch anyways. 'Silco' takes a sip before placing the cup between the two of you, gently resting his hand on your forearm. You cautiously place your own hand on top of his, it fits the same way as your Silco's hand does, but your Silco is dead and this Silco is alive. Then again your Vander is dead and this Vander is alive.
You sniff the drink in front of you, eyeing it warily. 'Silco' snorts, lifting the glass to his lips and takes a mouthful. "See? Not poisoned. What has gotten into you today?"
You frown, tapping your finger on the counter top as you think of a way to broach this topic. How were you going to explain that somehow, you had been transported into your body from an alternate universe? There was also the nagging question of where Ekko, Heimerdinger and Jayce were, if they were even in this universe as well. You heave a sigh, looking into sea foam and grey eyes.
"Just a nightmare." You can't tell them anything, and doubt they'll believe you anyways. 'Silco' narrows his eyes but 'Vander' places a hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze. 'Silco' scowls but relents and leaves you alone for the rest of the day, which you spend exploring this alternate reality.
Turns out, this is the reality in which Vi died in the explosion. 'Vander' has different tattoos, but he still betrayed 'Silco' and tried to kill him. How the two made up, well for whatever reason the two seemed adamant about keeping it quiet, but it made your heart ache for what could have been back in your universe.
That night, you can't sleep. Your mind is racing, going through everything you've learnt today. In the dark, you can see 'Silco' peacefully slumbering on his right side, an arm draped over your waist. His chest gently rises and falls with each breath he takes, his face buried into your chest. He looks completely different from your Silco when he sleeps, his dark brown hair tousled, facial muscles relaxed and lips curved into what looks like a smile. Your Silco never slept on his right side, always preferring to sleep on his left side with a dagger clutched under the pillow.
'Silco' mumbles something, stirring slightly and you shift, only for him to blindly grasp for your arm so that he can bury himself further into your chest, bringing a small smile to your face. It's been so long since you've shared your bed with another, maybe you can indulge him just this once. It wouldn't hurt…right?
You run your fingers through his hair, remembering the times where you'd comb his hair for him, gently pressing kisses to his scarred cheek until he told you he had a meeting to attend and then you'd kiss him on the lips for good luck before letting him go. 'Silco' purrs softly, nuzzling into you and holds you closer, a free heater on this cool night.
You miss this. You miss hugging your lover like it's your last moment in this world, you miss his touch, his warmth. You miss the way he holds you tightly when he's feeling down, the feeling of his forehead pressing against yours, the electricity that crackles in the air when his fingers linger on your hand longer than it needs to as he passes you his cigar. You miss the way he makes your heart race from all the small smiles he sends your way during a meeting with the chem-barons, the way he makes you stifle a laugh when he rolls his eye at their bickering, but most of all the way he holds your hand. Your palms have always slotted into each other's like puzzle pieces, made perfectly for one another.
This 'Silco' is the same, yet different, and despite all his faults, you've always loved your Silco. It's why you chose to side with him over Vander, why you walked down the path towards hell with him despite knowing where it led. You knew that given the choice again, you would always choose him over everything else, and if that made you loyal to him to a fault, so be it.
Still, you wonder if you could've steered him towards the path this 'Silco' took. Would you have been able to nudge him towards forgiveness, leaving his hatred and vengeance behind for the shared dream of Zaun? You shake your head, what's past is past, there's no changing it. The only thing you can do now it look forward, and push on ahead, as you know your Silco would want you to, but doing so is so much harder than knowing it.
I love you, the words you were never able to say to him. The both of you always knew how the other felt, but neither of you ever verbalised it. You trace 'Silco's' scars, wondering if this version of you ever uttered those words to him.
"Can't sleep, love?" He mumbles, rolling over so that he can see you.
"It's just…been a long day."
He hums, and then pulls you into a hug, resting his chin on the top of your head. Rubbing gentle circles on your back, he nuzzles your hair. "Then you better get as much rest as you can. I'll be here when you wake up."
Tears begin to fill your eyes again but you squeeze them shut, willing the grief away. If this is a dream, you want it to continue on forever. You don't want to wake up, you don't want to lose Silco and Vander again.
But you still wake up.
Because you have to.
On your second day, you learn that Ekko and Powder are preparing for a competition.
"Ekko?"
"Y/N?"
"Are you —"
"Do you know where we can talk in private?"
You've never been so relieved to hear that.
You learn that Ekko and Heimerdinger have met up, and that Jayce is nowhere to be found. Ekko has a theory that recreating what brought all three of you to this universe in the first place might be able to send you all back home, and he's been trying to do just that the past few days.
"Home," you echo, staring at the bustling city below.
"You…don't want to go back?"
"Do you?" Your question catches him off guard and he pauses, looking at the ground.
"I…I don't know."
"You and Powder, right?" You give him a knowing look and he looks away, embarrassed. "I know the feeling."
He raises an eyebrow but you press on, ignoring the inquisitive look he sends your way. "This world…this universe, it's everything we've wanted. Well, almost everything. Looking at all this, I don't know if I want to go back. Do I want to throw it all away just to go back to bloodshed, chaos and war?"
"We have people back home who need us."
Sevika.
Jinx.
Their faces flash in your mind and your throat constricts.
"We can't just abandon them, as much as we prefer this world." Ekko's eyes are hard. "We have to go back."
It's hurting him to say this, but he's saying it anyways because he knows it's right. You look back at the bright city of Zaun and sigh. Ekko speaks the cold hard truth, but you're torn. Going back means confronting the reality that Vander, and more importantly Silco, are forever lost to you, that Zaun is still struggling in the fight against Piltover, that you have to fight every day to survive, but going back also means reuniting with your closest friend Sevika, your adopted daughter Jinx, and you know they need you as much as you need them.
"I've made my mind up," Ekko turns to leave. "Let me know when you've made yours up. In the meantime, I'll be working on my theory with Heimerdinger."
"…thanks."
"Never thought I'd hear you thank me."
"Well, I never thought I'd end up in an alternate universe, so there."
Ekko snorts and leaves you alone with your thoughts. He's right, it seems this alternate universe is starting to influence you, in a good way from the looks of it. You huff in amusement, letting yourself smile and look out at the silhouette of Piltover in the distance. You owed it to your Silco to see his dream of an equal Zaun and Piltover, and the only way to do that was to go home.
"You doing alright?" You turn to see 'Vander' standing behind you.
"Well, that depends really. Are you talking physically, emotionally or mentally?"
"Even if he doesn't act like it, Silco's worried about you. He's been asking me to talk to you since you won't tell him what's going on."
"Aren't you supposed to keep that last part a secret?" You chuckle. He shrugs, moving over to stand next to you.
"Well, it's out of the bag now, he can't do anything about that. So, are you going to tell me if everything's alright or am I going to have to pry it out of you with alcohol?"
"Hmph." You take a seat and he follows, carefully watching your every move. "If you had to choose between being with the one you love and saving Zaun, which would you pick?"
"I would save Zaun." You blink at him, surprised at the lack of hesitation in his answer. You knew which option he would choose, but the speed at which he gave his answer was unexpected.
"If there's anything I've learnt from all these years, it's that the ones we love are never truly gone. They are right here." He places a hand over his heart. "Felicia, Vi, everyone we've lost, they're kept alive by our memories, our feelings, our thoughts, and are always with us."
"You always know what to say," you huff, choking back the tears. "Never missed a beat, not even once."
"You can always talk to us, little dove. We're always here for you, Silco and I." You throw yourself into Vander's arms, hugging him tightly. He wraps his arms around you in turn, holding you securely in his warm embrace.
Little dove. You never thought you'd hear that nickname again. The dove had died the day you chose to follow Silco down the path towards hell, you still remember the looks of sorrow Vander had given you as you turned your back on him, hate filling your eyes. You'd been angry at him for what he did to Silco, hurled words you wish you could take back, screamed then cried, wrapped in Silco's cold embrace as he whispered of the revenge the both of you would take on Vander.
And you never got the chance to apologise.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," you wail, clutching at his sleeves. "I should never have said any of that, I shouldn't have cursed you, I take it all back, I take it all back."
"I've already long forgiven you." His words are enough to make you break, screaming out your grief over what you've lost forever. You cry and cry, letting out all your regret, the bottled up emotions finally spilling out after years of containing them for the sake of staying strong. Your nails dig into his arms, gripping onto him for support as your body wracks with every cry. The world around you blurs from the tears and you feel your knees buckle but a pair of strong arms catch you.
"I've got you."
Your body squeezes out one last sob before it collapses, unable to bear the weight of it all anymore.
If only I had your back the same way you always had mine.
When you next open your eyes, you're back on your shared bed with 'Silco', with a singular sea foam coloured eye watching you. He shifts, moving closer to you and gently cups your cheek, thumb gliding over your skin.
"I'm sorry," you whisper. "I thought following you into hell was the best thing I could do for you, but it wasn't. I should have said something, done something to stop you from destroying yourself, cleared your vision when it became clouded, but I was too weak to. I didn't want to lose you, not after losing everything else."
He presses a kiss to your forehead. "I'm right here, just as I promised."
That's right, how could you have forgotten? Promises whispered in the dead of night, huddled on the rooftop under a single coat, lips locking as fingers intertwined, foreheads pressed against each other, time freezing in that moment, the world condensed to just the both of you.
Stay by my side, always?
Always.
Moments clouded by the haze of anger, vengeance and hatred slowly begin to reveal themselves, memories buried the day you turned your back on Vander flooding back into your head. A warm hug, a hand ruffling your hair, deep laughter, the clink of glasses raised in toast to a new future, music playing in the background, a pen nib scratching on paper, hands brushing against one another sending tingles up your spine, a shy smile, lying on the rooftop looking up at nothing, dreaming of a better future.
"Stay, please."
"I'm not going anywhere, love. You're stuck with me forever."
You feel the bed dip as he moves to lie down next to you, slipping his hand into yours. Looking into his eye, you see a glimmer that your Silco lost along with his left eye, a quiet look of adoration, of endless love and you lean in, feeling his soft lips, tasting the scotch he loves to drink.
It feels wrong, this is not your Silco, but just for the moment you let yourself drift away, kissing him deeper, pouring all your love and regret into the act. He kisses back fervently, hungrily devouring you, eye closed as time comes to a stop around the both of you.
"I miss you," you breathe, lips parting. "I miss you so much."
"It's only been half a day."
"Shut up."
"Make me." You slam your lips against his once more, savouring the taste of him, fingers tangled in his hair. He pulls you closer, greedily devouring you. One hand rests on the back of your neck while the other rests on your back as he kisses you like there's no tomorrow. Maybe there is no tomorrow, maybe you have to go back to your universe tonight but right now, all you can think about is how much you've missed this.
Your lips finally part as you gasp for air, lost in the bliss of the moment. You feel his hands cup your cheeks, his forehead pressing against yours as you both bask in each other's presence. He's so warm, nothing like the body you cradled months ago as your world shattered, wails ripped from your throat. His touch is gentle, calloused fingers ghosting over your skin as he holds you like you're the most precious thing in the world.
It's nice, living in this universe where everyone you love is alive and well, where you're happily married to the man you've devoted your life to, but you know you don't belong. Your hands are stained with blood that you can never wash off, Shimmer taints the blood in your veins and your heart is broken beyond repair. In this world of peace, of wholeness, you will never find a place. It's made for the you of this universe, the you who still remembers how to live in a time of peace, who doesn't jump at every shadow believing it to be a threat.
You breathe in deeply, basking in his comforting presence. He still smells of cigar ash and scotch, but it's less sharp. You reach up, placing your hands on top of his and close your eyes. Like this, it's almost as if your Silco is the one cradling your face and you feel a silent tear slide down your cheek.
Damn, you've been crying a lot since you arrived in this universe.
He moves a hand to wipe the tear away, pressing a kiss to the tip of your nose. As he pulls back, his lips curve into a smile and you mentally save the image. You never imagined he could be capable of such levels of love after Vander's betrayal but here he was, having forgiven Vander, having the courage to marry you openly, having the courage to wear his wedding ring on his finger. He was so much stronger than you thought, and you feel bad for doubting him.
I never thought I'd see you smile like that again, even if it's you in another universe. The thought rings in your head and you can't help but let a chuckle slip. The first genuine laugh you've made since arriving in this universe.
"And what's suddenly so funny?" He does his signature head tilt, mockingly glaring at you. It seems some habits remain the same in every universe.
"Nothing," you hum, heart feeling lighter. It's like a weight has been lifted from your chest, and you feel free. You take in his features, remembering every line on your Silco's face, remembering the shape of his scar, remembering his touch, remembering the way he would kiss you, but these memories no longer choke you, no longer crush you under their weight. Instead, they're cast in a radiant glow, preserved in your heart.
He snorts in disbelief but doesn't press it further, choosing to cuddle under the blanket with you. Your fingers thread through his hair, the rhythm slowly lulling him to sleep and soon he's drifted off, allowing you to untangle yourself from him and slip out.
You head to the rooftop, breathing in the cool night air and watch the lights of the city below twinkle. Gone are the bright and aggressive neon lights of the Zaun you're familiar with, replaced with the soft glow of white lights.
It's beautiful. A different kind of beauty, but still as beautiful as the Zaun you know and love. The night breeze whispers in your ear, carrying the hums of the city's nightlife. You lie down on the cold hard floor, reaching up at the sky with one hand and wonder if you will ever be able to grasp the dream of an independent Zaun for your universe.
"Is the bed not comfortable enough for you?" 'Silco' sits down next to your head, leaning back on his palms.
"Nice to see you too." You've never really registered the fact that he doesn't hide his scars in this universe, but under the night lights, the ridges of his scar stand out, drawing your attention to them. He hums, looking out at the sprawling city.
"Do you think we fall in love in every universe?" You blurt out.
He looks over at you, raising an eyebrow. "Feeling sentimental all of a sudden?"
"Just thinking about it."
He hums, deep in thought. "I would like to believe so."
You smile. "Yeah, me too."
As the night goes by, you feel your eyes start to close. It's so tiring, sorting through your bottled up emotions, but as you look up to see 'Silco' smiling, you decide that maybe it's not so bad if it means you get to see him at peace.
The next few days pass by in a blur. You help 'Vander' prepare The Last Drop for the upcoming Innovator's Competition celebration, hanging up the decorations and drop by Ekko's place for updates on the machine. You do what you can to help Ekko, Powder and Heimerdinger out but amidst geniuses, you can only do so much. Still, as the machine comes closer and closer to completion, trepidation creeps in.
Are you really going to throw it all away just to go home?
On the day of the celebration, you take the chance to explore the city a little more, wanting to take in more of the sights before you return to your universe. 'Silco' offers to accompany you but you turn him down, telling him that it would just be a quick in and out. You see his expression falter for just a split second but he lets you go. You thank him, pressing a quick peck on his scarred cheek before slipping out the door, into the familiar yet unfamiliar streets of Zaun.
You wander around aimlessly, wondering if your Zaun will ever reach the same level of prosperity and peace. Children play in the water fountain, laughing as they splash about without a care in the world. Friends stand around, chatting away as if they have all the time in the world. You feel like a stranger here, used to the dark grey and the shadows that make up your Zaun.
Walking past a bakery, the smell of freshly baked bread fills your nose, bringing you back to the time when you had jumped into Silco's arms, laughing as you clutched a bag of fresh bread stolen from a Piltovian bakery, yelling at him to run before the enforcers could catch up. He had stood there for a moment, cheeks flushed before realising what you just said and took off running, gripping tightly onto your arm. You remember the adrenaline that had coursed through your veins, the loud and freeing laughter that rang through the air, the way you had breathlessly pinned him against the wall, kissing him for the first time as enforcers walked past the both of you, the bag of bread pressed between your bodies. You remember his flustered expression as you broke the kiss, adrenaline fading, his conflicted look before he pulled you in for another kiss, this time deeper.
You buy a bun just for old times' sake, tearing off a chunk. It's pretty good, although not as good as the one you stole. You had shared the stolen bread with Silco, cheekily taking a bite from his loaf and scarpering off before he could do the same to yours, his footsteps and shouts getting louder as he gained on you. He had taken his revenge that day, taking a bite from your loaf before flicking you on the forehead, grumbling about how you made him run so much.
You'd only laughed, ribbing him with your elbow before plopping onto your usual bar stool, eyes shining while he took out his notebook with a sigh, still nibbling on his bread and continued calculating The Last Drop's finances. Vander had shook his head in amusement once he found out what was going on, teasing Silco about getting married to you which caused Silco to bury himself further into his notebook, but neither you nor Vander missed the way the tips of his ears turned red.
The bread that day had tasted sweeter than usual, and back then you had chalked it up to a difference in baking but now that you think about it, it was probably because you were sharing it with Silco. You smile, taking another bite of your bread and continue your aimless journey, watching as the city moves all around you, going about their day.
A particular store catches your attention, the jewellery on display glinting in the light and you make your way over, still munching on your bread. Rings, bracelets, piercings and necklaces fill the counter, but a ring in particular catches your attention. It's a simple silver band on the surface, but you recognise the markings carved into it.
"You've got good taste. That ring's special, carved with archaic runes that are said to preserve the feelings of the gifter." The shopkeeper pushes the box in which the ring sits closer to you.
"So I've heard." You trace the runes, remembering the first time you laid eyes on this ring.
It had been during one of your little adventures into Piltover and a particularly fancy box had caught your eye. Making sure no one was looking, your nimble fingers had swiped the box and you disappeared into the shadows, curious about what lay within. Upon opening the box, you were disappointed by the sight that greeted you. It was a simple silver ring, with nothing of note until you looked closer. Something was carved into the metal, patterns that looked like runes. Now that was a ring worth selling. You had pocketed it, wondering how high you could sell it for until you overheard someone talking about proposing to their girlfriend with a ring amidst a flower field.
A romantic gesture huh. You had slipped the ring out again, looking it over. Would Silco appreciate such a gesture? Marriages were few and far between in Zaun, it was something few could even think about, and fewer chose to go with it. You didn't need marriage to know how Silco felt about you, it was as clear as day to those whom you wanted to know about it and that was more than enough for the both of you. Still, it would make a nice gift, so you had pocketed the ring and headed towards The Last Drop where your proposal had gone terribly unromantic.
You let slip a quiet chuckle as you recall that night, hand reaching for the ring hanging around the chain on your neck and tucked underneath your shirt only to grasp at nothing. Oh…right…this version of you never proposed to Silco via that ring so instead he had proposed to you with a different ring that this version of you wore on your ring finger. You fiddle with the ring on your finger, thanking the shopkeeper for her time before heading back to The Last Drop. It is almost time for the celebration, and you want dibs on the first bottle of alcohol opened.
The walk back feels strangely melancholic, maybe it's the colour the setting sun bathes the city in, maybe it's the thought of needing to leave this city behind when you go back to your universe since the machine is so close to completion, but you purposely walk slower than normal. Your fingers brush along the walls of buildings, run over the stone the water fountains are made from, and gently rest on the cooling metal of the benches.
How will you bid farewell to this universe's Silco? You sit on one of the benches, looking up at the sky, lost in thought. Your heart still yearns for Silco, but you also know that you have a responsibility to Jinx and Sevika, both of whom are in your home universe.
"Penny for your thoughts?" You look to your left as Heimerdinger climbs onto the bench, taking a seat next to you.
"No thanks." You turn your gaze back to the sky, arms draped over the bench's backrest.
"I must admit, I don't know what's troubling you, but I do know when someone's carrying a heavy burden." He follows your gaze, looking up at the sky. "And the burden you bear is a terribly heavy one."
"What do you know of carrying heavy burdens?"
"I know that it's heavier when carried alone, and that the bearer tends to think they're alone when in reality they aren't."
You laugh, "your kind live long lives, don't they?"
"Indeed we do."
"Do you have any regrets then?"
"Oh, plenty, but I've learnt to move on from them. No one doesn't have regrets, what defines us is how we deal with them. Some let their regrets consume them and wallow in self-pity, others rise above their regrets and learn from them. The question is how will you deal with yours?" Heimerdinger looks at you.
"I've been ignoring mine, pretending that they don't exist, but I've been forced to confront them here. I know I can't turn back time to fix my mistakes, I know they can never be fixed, but this — this universe, in this universe my regrets don't exist. I can be free of my regrets here, and yet, I have a duty to those from our universe. I have friends, other family, people to lead. I can't just abandon them, but I don't want to lose this paradise either." You heave a deep sigh, closing your eyes. "I don't know if I can lose the one I love for the second time."
"I admire your strength, it's a kind few possess. To still consider duty when it means losing someone you love again, it's a testament to who you are. I cannot claim to understand how you feel, but I have heard that we only ever truly lose someone when we forget them."
"Hmph. Vander." You snort. "Everywhere I go, he still influences the people around him."
"He must be quite the fellow."
"He is. The Hound of Zaun, people called him. Yet he's the gentlest and kindest person I know. And I let him die." Your words fade into a whisper. "All because I wasn't strong enough to steer the one I loved away from the path of destruction."
"You aren't the only one who has stood by and watched as someone they cared about destroyed themself." Heimerdinger bows his head. "I failed my pupil, and not a day goes by where I wonder if I should have done more back then, but I believe I did what I could. With hindsight as my teacher, I learn not to repeat that mistake so that I won't regret it again. I know you have the strength to do the same."
"Such optimism."
"I only speak the truth. Now then, I must go back to the lab and continue working on our way home. Enjoy yourself at the party, time is precious especially when we only have so much of it left."
"Enjoy myself huh. I suppose I can try." You stand up, stretching your limbs. "I doubt there'll be another party any time soon."
The party that takes place that night is nothing like you've ever experienced before. The floor is abuzz with excited young inventors showing off their latest fancy gadgets, alcohol exchanging hands as friends and lovers alike chat the night away, all the while you hang behind the counter, watching the scene unfold.
"Finally acting your age?" 'Benzo' laughs boisterously, slapping you on the back.
"Could say the same about you," you retort, taking a sip from your glass. 'Silco' had left earlier to mingle with other people, but you weren't exactly in the mood to form more relationships you knew were going to end soon. 'Vander' remained behind the bar counter to serve drinks and in the beginning you tried to help him, but you soon began trying each drink that was opened, much to his amusement and he 'fired' you from your job.
"Go out there and have fun, I've got it covered here." He had shooed you away but all you did was move a couple of steps before stopping, refusing to move any further. 'Vander' had sighed but had let you remain there, and still you remain at your spot, even after 'Silco' has long disappeared into the crowd.
Ekko meets your gaze and leans in, "so, what's your answer?"
"I…I need more time to think." You swallow, glancing at where you last saw 'Silco'.
"You don't have much more time." His eyebrows furrow.
"I know. I just…need to sort some things out first, get rid of the monsters of my past that kind of thing," you joke but Ekko doesn't laugh along.
"Tonight, once the party dies down, come with me to the lab. Heimerdinger said he wants to discuss something with us."
"Sure." With that out of the way, you turn to go and find 'Silco'. He at least needed to know that you would be disappearing tonight. Your heart thunders in your chest, anxiety surfacing as you struggle to think of what to say to him. You can't exactly tell him that you're from an alternate universe and might be going back to your universe soon, that would be insane.
You watch as 'Silco' makes his way over to 'Vander', surprised when he slips an arm around your waist and basically hauls you over as well with a smile.
"So, there's a chance for us yet." He places a hand on 'Vander's' shoulder, looking up at the bigger man. He presses a kiss to your forehead, chuckling, "we'll finally get the rest we deserve, love. Aren't you excited?"
Ekko gapes at you, the pieces finally falling into place. "You —"
"The monsters of my past," you smile sadly at him, letting out a deep breath. "You're not the only one."
Ekko shakes his head but you can tell, he understands. You and Silco, your destinies intertwined no matter the universe. I'm sorry, he mouths. 'Vander' pours a drink for 'Silco' who looks at Ekko with a fondness you've never seen before, a mixture of pride and sass.
"Didn't think I'd miss your big day, did you?" 'Silco' smirks.
"Didn't you try to kill him?" Ekko blurts out and you feel 'Silco's' grip on you tighten. You place your hand on his, thumb brushing over the back of his palm and he shoots you a look of gratitude, taking the glass from 'Vander'.
"The greatest thing we can do in life is find the power to forgive." He raises the glass in toast to 'Vander', gaze softening as he turns to you, taking a sip from his glass before handing the rest to you. "Don't get too drunk, love. I'd rather not have to haul you off to bed later."
"I'm not a child," you pout and 'Silco' laughs, nuzzling into your hair. Ekko chuckles, taking a sip from his drink when suddenly, the lights go out and streamers fall from the ceiling. Powder walks in, turning every head within her vicinity. You watch as Ekko steps forward, taking her hand and begins to dance. Their bodies sway to the beat, moving in sync and the crowd moves to make space for the couple. More begin to dance, twirling upon the dance floor as the music picks up and you can't help but watch, wondering what it's like to feel so free.
"May I?" A voice murmurs in your ear and you look down to find a hand extended towards you. 'Silco' smiles encouragingly and you slip your hand into his.
"I've never —"
"Just follow my lead and trust me."
"Don't you go letting me down, you hear?"
"Have I ever?" He pulls you in, pressing a deep kiss to your lips before spinning you around. Soon, you find yourself led by the music and 'Silco's' gentle guidance, your feet gliding over the dance floor. You feel light as a feather, a big smile gracing your features, eyes focused only on 'Silco' whose gaze remains fixed on you. His fingertips ghost over your skin, sending shivers up your spine and you lean in, lips mere inches away from his before you pull away. You can't recall the last time you felt so alive. The air is electrifying, your lungs gasping for air as 'Silco' pulls you in for another kiss, his arms wrapping themselves around you.
Dawn will come, you know, and the night will be over, but while it lasts, you will squeeze it for every drop of enjoyment it has to offer. You inhale his scent, the cigar ash drowned out by the alcohol he's drunk and capture his lips in a fervent kiss. You wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him closer and he indulges you, savouring the taste of your wine-tainted lips.
"I love you," he whispers. "Always, and forevermore."
You open your mouth to say the words you never got to say to your Silco but they get stuck in your throat. You struggle to say something back, emotions threatening to overwhelm you.
"Yeah," you finally manage to breathe out. "I know."
His gaze softens, thumb running over your cheek and you almost don't tell him of your plan to visit the lab tonight but you catch a glimpse of Ekko leaving the party and steel yourself. You have to, this is not your world, as much as you wish it were. You can't keep running away, if Silco can find a way to forgive Vander, you can find a way to forgive yourself.
"Silco?" The word feels foreign on your tongue.
"Yes, love?"
"I need to leave."
"Leave?" He echoes, confused.
"I…Ekko asked me to help him with the finishing touches of his Z-Drive." The excuse is flimsy but 'Silco' buys it anyways. His touch lingers just for a little longer but he lets you go, gently pushing you towards the exit.
"Then you better get going, or the boy wonder is going to need to pull an all-nighter again."
You blink and then smile sadly at him. "Before…I forget. I want — I want to thank you." Grief bubbles to the surface again and you swallow hard. "For everything. Whether you know it or not, you — you've done so much for me. You mean the world to me, you're my everything and — and I don't know what I'd do without you, but I have to try. For your sake and mine. I can't just keep wallowing in despair, grieve as the world moves on around me, I have to move on, keep going one step at a time, because you'd want me to."
Tears prick the corners of your eyes and you whirl around, quickly fleeing as tears flow down your face freely, blurring your vision. You hear 'Silco' call out to you but his voice is muffled by the blood roaring in your ears and the pattering of your shoes against the ground as you run, run and run until you reach the lab.
Ekko and Heimerdinger turn to face you, concern written all over their faces as you harshly wipe away the tears, sniffing.
"So, what's the update?" Your voice wavers.
"Good news! The machine is ready!" Heimerdinger chirps.
"I see. Good thing I've laid the monsters to rest then." You take a deep breath, stepping into the machine with Ekko. "Time to go home."
As the machine comes to life, the arcane begins to whirl around you, howling. This is it, no more going back, no more running away, no more chasing the past. You watch as Heimerdinger connects the power cables, your limbs going numb as he disappears into thin air. Your alternate self's body and Ekko's appear on the floor, unconscious as Powder and 'Silco' run in, eyes wide.
You watch as 'Silco' hugs your alternate self's body to his chest, then looks up at your real body floating inside the sphere. Your gazes connect for the final time and you feel your heart ache. You want to reach out to him, feel his skin on yours one last time, taste his lips one last time, hold him one last time but you know you can't. Your Silco is gone, physically, and there's no bringing him back. So instead you mouth the words you've always wanted to say, trusting that your Silco will hear it anyways from wherever he is in the afterlife, if there even is one.
I love you.
And the arcane snaps everything to black.

Sizey thoughts before I go to sleep
you are eepy and so is your giant so how to get comfy?
do they scoop up your sleepy self from wherever you were and carry you off to bed? Or do you have to go wake your beloved sleeping giant so they don’t wake up with any aches from sleeping on the couch?
do you sleep on their chest? curled up in their arms? cradled gently beneath their hands as they hold you close to their heart?
do you fall asleep to the vibrations in their chest as you both quietly chat to each other trading soft words and stifled giggles? Or does the quiet set in faster and your lullaby is their heart beat, slow and strong?
do you fall asleep first? slowly balling your hands up in their shirt cuddling in so close to them knowing you are absolutely safe and sound in their care? Or do you get unknowingly doted on by your giant the most gentle touches tucking you in close or brushing hair away from your face so nothing disturbs your slumber?
whatever the answer is you and your giant are cozy and warm and safe
🌙 Good night~ ✨

Can I get a wholesome little thingy of homie comforting his s/o that's like depressed what would he do? And give them snuggles? And although of course s/o giving homie headpats and caresses are top tier this time I want him to have to give headpats. Not because I'm depressed rn or anything (yes it is)
~1k | Homelander x gn!Reader | Established Relationship. Dealing with depression. Homelander's POV. Fluff. Just fluff really.
Something feels off when Homelander enters his penthouse. While he used to welcome the quiet of his home after he came back from events, this has recently changed. Ever since you’ve become a part of his life, any second spent without you feels like something’s missing. So it’s definitely out of order to get the same empty feeling when he's home. Usually you greet him with open arms or at least a ‘Welcome home’ shouted from another room.
“Babe?” Homelander calls out into the penthouse, the questioning tone reverberating through the open plan of his home. He knows you’re here. His question acts more as a reset, giving you a chance to play your role.
At your lack of response he quickly scans the room, seeing you in the bedroom. Very much awake but hidden under the sheets. So why wouldn’t you react to his presence? Shouldn’t that be something you look forward to?
You always do.
His mind runs at a hundred miles a minute. Even with the overwhelming positive effect you’ve had on his life it’s easy to fall into insecurity and despair, worrying about the worst possible outcome.
Homelander stops himself from rushing into the bedroom. But the slow one step at a time sinks the weight in his gut lower and lower. The anxiety of something being wrong has thrown him off-kilter. He doesn’t really know how to approach you when you’re distant like this.
So his over the top bravado will have to do.
“Heyyyy there sleepy head! You know it’s waaayyy too late for a lie in, don't you think?” He waltzes into the bedroom, hands on his hips, acting as if he was addressing a crowd. His voice is loud and clear, carrying a jovial tone that sounds a little too insincere even to his ears.
He doubles down anyway. “If I knew you were planning to spend the entire day in bed I would’ve never left.” But, you don’t respond. He can hear your heartbeat, the slight rustle of the sheets and even the thud and glide of your finger scrolling down your phone screen.
When the silence gets too awkward for him to bear he peels the blanket from over your head, revealing you down to your waist. Immediately you squirm at the light coming from the outside after having your den of doom broken into.
Over the time that your love has blossomed into a relationship he’s gotten used to receiving comfort from you. You were there to listen to his countless rants and concerns. From the simple work related complaints to the horrors plaguing his nightmares.
He should be able to do the same for you, right?
“Hmm… I’m just resting.” You sound dejected, empty.
He swallows at the sound of you being so different. You’re missing the light that usually fills out the dark space in him. Homelander doesn’t know how to approach you. When’s the last time he’s had to comfort anyone? Truly comfort someone. Has anyone ever asked or even trusted him to be there for them?
Whether you’ve asked or not, he needs to be there for you.
It’s the least you deserve.
“Yeah right.”
He unzips his boots, setting them neatly next to each other before sliding under the sheets right behind you. He hooks his arm over you, pulling your back into his chest. And although you’re not reciprocal to his affection like you usually would be, the warmth he feels is enough to ease the anxiety in his gut.
He wedges his head in between your head and shoulder, watching with you as you mindlessly scroll through social media.
“How long have you been doom scrolling now?” He clicks his tongue, shaking his head lightly against your shoulder.
“I don’t know. A while I guess.” While you squirm in his hold your tone is still just as impenetrable.
“You’re not even looking at the screen!” When you don’t even react he frowns. “Alright, that’s enough of that.” He plucks your phone from your hands, turning and placing it on the bedside table away from you. He acts as a barrier between it and you, giving you no chance of getting it back. He rolls over back to you, greeted with the sight of you facing him.
Instantly he pulls you into him, both arms tightly around you with heavy comfort. It’s what he would’ve wanted in times of despair. It’s what you do when he seeks comfort. The whole body embrace where all he can focus on is you. It always grounds him.
He hopes it has a similar effect on you.
“What’s wrong?” He says. This time in a soft, low voice. No longer trying to put on a show. He’s meant to be there for you, not for a crowd.
“I don’t really know how to talk about it… Or if I even want to…” While you don’t sound like yourself, part of him is glad to hear your sadness. It’s better than the dejected empty voice. The closer you are to revealing your true sorrows the closer he is to getting you to feel better.
“Okay. You can… I don’t know, at least try to tell me something about what’s going on. Orrr, I will be reciting all of the amendments to the Constitution of the United States.” He’s gambling with the teasing tone of his voice but it pays off when you groan and giggle.
“Oh god no, not again!”
“Welp, it’s your choice.” By now he can’t stop the smile from spreading across his lips. He gives you a soft squeeze.
“Alright, I can try.” You concede with a calm defeat.
“Good. That’s a start.” He kisses the top of your head, still holding and caressing you.
But most importantly, actually listening to you.

This is just a summary of how the story goes, kinda like bullet points I guess. If the time ever comes that this eventually gets written as an actual story, It would be a lot more detailed than this. Also, I don't own Sonic Unleashed or think the story is bad (I actually really like it), this is just how a strange person (me) would handle the story in their own fan universe thing.
DEATH EGG October 1
Tails helps Sonic get up to the Death Egg.
Sonic storms the Death Egg, going Super.
Super Sonic follows Eggman, he begs for mercy, but it’s a trick.
Super Sonic gets the Chaos Emeralds ripped right out of him,
Eggman fires a beam filled with the Chaos Energy to the planet, cracking it into 7 pieces, releasing a Giant Monster, but it fades away.
Sonic turns into the Werehog, only barely hearing Eggman yell something about the Gaia Manuscripts through all of the intense pain that he’s going through, and is shot out of the Death Egg with the now drained Chaos Emeralds. Tails, on the Tornado-1, sees this happen, and chases after him.
APOTOS October 1
Sonic crashes into Apotos. He notices that there is a small being passed out near him, so he tries waking him up to see if he’s okay, this ends up scaring the kid for some reason.
Sonic realizes he can’t talk for some reason, his throat feels off and his teeth feel weird, so he uses sign language to try asking if the kid is okay. The kid doesn’t understand, but assumes (probably not the smartest move) that he means no harm because his eyes seem genuinely worried, plus he’s slowly moving as though afraid to scare off the kid again.
The kid calls him ‘Mr. Monster Guy’, which makes Sonic realize he’s not his usual self. This mildly freaks him out, but he tries to act calm to not freak the small creature out. Using his claws, he writes in the dirt, which luckily the kid can read, and realizes the creature has amnesia. Sonic worries that he might have caused it, and vows to help him get his memories back. (Little Fella joined the party!)
Sonic looks at the rising sun, looking at it as something to lean on to stay optimistic, and turns back into his regular self. He finds his shoes and now drained Chaos Emeralds lying on the ground, and with a lot more pep in his step, holds onto the kid and races off to the closest city to hopefully get someone who recognizes the little creature (and see if Tails landed there after he launched Sonic into space).
>Windmill Isle Day Act 1 (plays as it normally would)
Sonic questions everything that just happened, the Chaos Emeralds being drained, the strange new form he took not even 15 minutes prior, what this ‘Gaia Manuscript’ is that Eggman was talking about; but he’s interrupted by the kid getting sidetracked from the memory treasure hunt with an ice cream stand that holds the famous Chocolate Chipped Cream Sundae Supreme! After a little begging, Sonic ends up paying for 2 cones. Sonic ends up calling the creature ‘Chip’ as a temporary nickname until they get his memories back, Chip absolutely loves it.
While they go around enjoying their ice cream and asking questions about Chip's past, Sonic ends up being given someone's pair of gloves.
Meanwhile, Tails is searching for Sonic, he’s surprised that his communicator is broken, or at least not responding, because it should have been able to survive a fall that high. He manages to get a rough estimate as to where he might be judging by where he fell, but Sonic could really be anywhere on this section of the planet with his speed.
Tails is highly concerned for Sonic’s health and safety since the last reading from the communicator reported that his heart rate has spiked dramatically right before he saw him fall from the sky.
>Windmill Isle Day Act 2 (You play as Tails as he flies around town, looking for Sonic)
As he still searches for Sonic as it’s heading into sunset, Tails gets a call from Knuckles telling him that something happened to the Master Emerald and that Angel Island has landed.
Tails tells him that he’s looking for Sonic at the moment, but promises to come over as soon as he can.
After the call is over, Tails realizes how long it’s been since he last ate and spots a local Gyro Food Truck. He ordered a bunch for Sonic to eat later if he spots him.
As the sun is setting, Sonic and Chip still haven’t found anyone who recognizes Chip. Sonic gives Chip a pep talk when he sees that the kid’s down in the dumps, suggesting that there are lots of areas around the world, maybe he’s just not from here. Right when Chip feels reassured, Sonic transforms back into the Werehog. Both are stunned and Sonic realizes that he changes into the form every night (Chip needs a moment to come to the same conclusion).
Chip immediately notices that the Sundae Stand Owner is acting strange, and asks him what’s wrong, even suggesting he eats some ice cream. Sonic shoves his now too-big-shoes into his quills until daytime. Chip accidentally drops the ice cream, but Sonic manages to catch it by stretching his arm out. Both are extremely surprised by this, kinda freaking Sonic out with how strange it feels but he thinks it’s kinda cool. Chip really likes the stripes.
Meanwhile, Tails finds himself in between a rock and a hard place. He’s surrounded by these strange enemies and forgot his weapon at the Tornado-1. He would normally spin dash into them, but judging by the sharp claws and spikes on them, his fur would not be enough defense from that hurting him more than it hurting them.
He could have also flown away from danger, but he’s currently trying to protect a lost little girl he found surrounded by said enemies. He knows he doesn’t have enough time to drop his defenses and fly away while carrying her before they attack, so he just has to try keeping the already miniscule amount of ground they have.
While not looking, an enemy gets a lucky hit on him, causing him to yell out in pain. Despite the pain, he refuses to stand down and keeps defending the little girl.
With his new sensitive hearing, Sonic hears Tails’ yell. Instincts kick in, realizing his little brother is hurt, and runs after the sound. Chip, with his not as sensitive hearing, flies after Sonic in confusion.
>Windmill Isle Night Act 1 (plays as it normally would)
Once he makes it to Tails’ location, all of the enemies focus on the actual threat, Sonic. The little girl uses this to run back home, and Tails hides behind a wall holding his wound from bleeding too much.
The enemies are piling onto Sonic, so he unleashes all of the energy he’s built up (and some instincts he didn’t know he had), somehow becoming more powerful for a period of time, yet feeling a little high off the energy practically pouring out of each hit he makes in this unleashed state.
Sonic Emotions Handling Scale:
Normal form- Can hide it frustratingly well and has normal emotions,
Werehog form- His face and new Wolf-like instincts make it hard for him to hide it but he still tends to try to push it off if he can + negative emotions are a lot more powerful + he’s a little clingy,
Unleashed Boost- Can’t hide his emotions to save him and they are extremely powerful + easily goes into a downward spiral in emotions + somehow even more clingy + he still is super emotional when getting out of his Unleashed state and will do things without thinking.
After the fight is over, Tails calls out to Sonic, he knew from the moment Sonic stepped into the battle that it was him, Sonic practically raised him for almost half of his life, how could he not tell? Sonic however, getting out of his Unleashed Boost daze, realizes just how dangerous and brutal he could be in this form. So once he hears Tails’ call, he books it in fear of possibly being able to harm Tails unintentionally.
Chip finally makes it over to the aftermath, he and Tails do a quick introduction (like saying, you know Sonic? You're the brother he was talking about? yep, let's go!), and book it towards Sonic. Tails is surprised that he’s actually able to catch up to Sonic, even on all fours, Tails’ namesakes spinning can beat him in a race now.
Sonic manages to hide in a barrel, in abject terror of what he is. Tails and Chip quickly catch up and sit near the barrel, trying to calm Sonic down. Letting him know that no matter what he looks like, he’ll always be by his side and his little brother. He proceeds to go on about how looking different doesn’t make you a monster or evil, having his tails sway as he talks, as a subtle reminder to Sonic that he went through that fear of being different too.
Sonic slowly uncovers his muzzle to use his hands to sign that he’s a monster who could hurt Tails. Tails is surprised by how open Sonic is being so open about his fears, he normally tries hiding it as best he can so others don’t worry for him (a bad trait that Tails is extremely relieved didn’t seem to carry over when he’s in this form). Tails gives a sad look and recounts all of the times that Tails has accidentally hurt Sonic due to not being used to touch (and the several months it took him to learn how to retract his claws), but Sonic stuck around every time and didn’t blame Tails for it at all.
Tails suggests that he runs a vitals check on Sonic back at the Tornado-1, to see if he can find out what’s causing this form. (Tails joined the party!)
That, and the smell of several Gyros in Tails’ bag, seem to be enough to make Sonic slowly walk out of the barrel on all fours. Tails notices that Sonic’s stomach is rumbling and uses this to walk him over to the Tornado-1 without having his mind drift into negativity (wow, that’s odd, Sonic’s almost never openly negative). Chip finds out Gyros are really good, almost eating 3 before they make it back to the biplane.
After eating, Sonic stands up (and is actively trying to ignore the stomach churning feeling of being so incredibly huge compared to his little brother), to sign that he can’t retract his claws or speak properly. Tails tries to make the best of it and says that Sonic doesn’t need to touch anything for the check up.
As Tails is cleaning up and patching his wound with the first aid kit he has stored in the Tornado-1 (he wanted to immediately do the check up on Sonic, but the werehog refused to even start that until Tails took care of his cut first), Chip is in awe that Tails can understand what Sonic means just by looking at his hands. He really wants to learn how to do that, so he can talk to Sonic at any time of the day. Tails tries to recall that he might still have some flashcards he’d give to any new friends Sonic made when he couldn’t speak.
Now tired and worn out from a long day of running around town, eating tasty food, fighting enemies, and making discoveries, Tails and Sonic sit on a brick fence next to the Tornado-1 to run a Vitals Check.
It’s a symphony of yawns as Chips quickly falls asleep on Sonic’s leg. Tails, being exhausted, unconsciously rests his tails on Sonic's lap (a deep sign of trust) and leans on him as a pillow (he realizes the sheer amount of muscle behind the fur, theorizing that the expanse of his arms might have stretched the communicator too far, thus breaking it), like how he sometimes would do that when the brothers ride a train late at night after a long adventure.
Sonic was in a half asleep state himself, but once he felt Tails’ tails rest on his lap, he perked right up. He’s surprised Tails can trust him so much even in this form, he thought this whole time that Tails was just bluffing it so Sonic would feel better. He might still be bluffing… using that 300 IQ brain to use this token trust sign to make Sonic relax. But Sonic quickly has exhaustion fog his brain again, letting this track of negative thoughts fizzle out at the moment.
With a yawn, Tails murmured that Sonic’s Vitals all seem normal, if not for a slightly higher than average Chaos Energy reading, but it’s not enough for it to change his form.
Tails is officially out, Sonic’s delicately soft fur and heart beat lulling him to sleep. Sonic, still not wanting to possibly harm anyone by accident, gently slips Chip off his leg, landing on his enormous paw (that’s another thing he feels off about, why are his hands so big?), and rests him on his head as he curls up as best he can without jostling Tails much. He tries his best to both find a comfortable position and keep his dangerous hands away from anyone. It’s a rough night, but they all got through it.
In the morning, Sonic transforms back to normal, with Tails handing him some spare gloves and a back-up communicator from the Tornado-1. After enjoying some Tarts for breakfast, they head out to Angel Island. Sonic accidentally falls asleep on the wing while Chip studies his flashcards in the back seat.

sanemi had always memorized his siblings’ birthdays. he knew them by heart, and, every year, did what little he could manage when the days came. for the most part, he found time to bring something to their graves, sitting properly in front of them and laying the things he brought down. but now the year had started again and genya’s birthday made its yearly appearance—right around the beginning of january. he wasn’t dead (thank god), and sanemi couldn’t bring himself to actually celebrate, not in front of genya. so the most he could force himself to do was somehow sneak some money into genya’s pocket when he was sleeping or something along those lines. but the thing was—for some time now, genya had been staying at gyomei’s house. sanemi couldn’t exactly sneak into there without gyomei catching him. also, genya had a bunch of friends now, and they were crowding him today, having heard from gyomei that it was genya’s birthday. therefore: sanemi was stuck.
it took some time, but sanemi managed to squeeze in a quick sparring session with gyomei between his missions, and the two fought as the children chattered happily inside the stone estate. after they finished, sanemi, who had gladly taken advantage of gyomei’s lack of vision, took out the parcel containing genya’s gift. it was just food—ohagi and some matcha tea—so that sanemi could subtly place it somewhere where genya would find it, and it would pass off as a gift from literally anyone. the only trouble he had was writing. he’d had to make sure genya knew it was for him, so he ended up searching for someone who didn’t know him to tell him how to write happy birthday. after he’d successfully scrawled down the characters (who cared how messily they were written?), he stuck it in one of the folds of the wrapped package and brought it with him on his way to the training grounds.
accepting gyomei’s suggestion to get water, after they’d finished training, sanemi slipped inside, scouring the halls for somewhere he could put the gift. for now, he tucked it under his arm, going to get himself some much needed water. as he passed the room with genya and the others, he found the door slightly ajar. peeking through, he squinted, gazing at the clutter of their joy.
likely hearing him, zenitsu, the louder, blond one, turned to the door in question. a bit tired out from the sparring and not necessarily caring if they saw him (since they likely knew he’d been training with gyomei), sanemi allowed himself to be spotted. surprised, zenitsu’s eyes widened and he stiffened. these drew immediate interest to the door, and someone—tanjiro, the bastard—slid it all the way open. sanemi managed to hide the package behind his back as he narrowed his eyes in a glare inclusive to everyone. the group seemed confused, and mildly perturbed by his presence.
“is everything alright, shinazugawa-san?” tanjiro asked curiously, tilting his head.
sanemi grunted, gaze sweeping briefly to genya, who looked increasingly nervous. “sure,” he huffed. “you guys were making so much fucking noise, i’m surprised himejima let you stay.”
“i’m sorry, shinazugawa-san,” kanao murmured, bowing slightly. she had remnants of a sincere smile from earlier left on her expression, and sanemi momentarily noted that, remembering how little she used to express herself. then he wondered what she was doing here, given genya’s inability to be near anyone female for long—before noticing the conspicuous way genya was positioned on the opposite side of the room as her.
“just be quiet,” sanemi allowed, finally. “it’s irritating.”
genya nodded quickly, and the others followed suit. “sorry, aniki,” he mumbled. “we’ll be quieter.”
he seemed to think sanemi didn’t know what they were doing. but, either way, sanemi left the room, shutting the door behind him. his hands were empty now, as he sought out water, and he smiled to himself, much satisfied. he’d managed to slip the gift beside the ones the others had brought, with the minor distraction they’d provided.
gyomei found him, a couple minutes later, and got himself some water.
“you’re leaving now?” gyomei confirmed, and sanemi nodded.
“yep. nice training with you.”
after all, he’d done what he’d set out to—and had gotten some beneficial training in the process. so he sent gyomei a smile he couldn’t see and headed home.
•
as genya opened his presents, the others having had to return to their training, his eyes caught on one in brown wrapping. it was more hastily done than the rest, and he wondered if inosuke had, in fact, given him something. picking it up, he gently tugged out a paper that had been tucked in. written with clumsy lettering were the words “happy birthday.” he was doubtful inosuke had gone and bothered to learn how to write just for his birthday, but he couldn’t think of anyone else who would’ve written like that. the others had pretty good handwriting, if not drawings (cough, tanjiro and the card he’d drawn).
opening the gift, he found ohagi and matcha, all tucked neatly inside. his suspicions of it being from inosuke immediately evaporated and his mind strayed back to when sanemi had interrupted them earlier. a large smile on his face, he bit into one of the mochi balls, his spirits rising where they were already high.
sanemi was truly the best aniki in the world.

requested by anon!
first of all, he’d need someone who understands how busy he can be and how important his job is. he won’t have a lot of time for you and his mind will always be wandering towards his work, so having a good understanding of his situation will help.
being his type would also mean being able to listen and comfort him during his darkest moments. he goes through horrible stuff every day and if his special someone doesn’t acknowledge these feelings, it might be difficult.
talking about feelings, he barely ever shows them, and his type would be someone that can discern these tiny signs of discomfort, anger and sadness and find a way to appease his heart.
his type would also be someone who likes to have fun. proposing a night out doing karaoke, going to the movies, going out with some friends. basically, changing his mind from everything happening.
being gojo’s ideal type also means being able to realize how lonely it is at the top. he’s one, if not, the greatest sorcerer of his generation. nobody can beat him and he can beat anybody. he’s the strongest. and it gets lonely. you have to be present for him.
having his sense of humour would definitely be a plus. seeing you laugh at his joke would brighten his day for sure.
okay, yeah. he’s kind of immature, in a way. so someone that knows how to handle this kind of personality, as in you won’t get angry because he does stupid shit and doesn’t care about the consequences of his actions.
also someone who knows how to bear with him. i know damn well he’d go days without giving you any news before getting back to you. you’re gonna have to find something to hold on to while he’s gone.
being satoru’s ideal type would include being able to satisfy his sweet tooth. making sure there are always sweets at home and sometimes baking him the pantries that he likes so much.
i feel like he likes someone that’s easily flustered. someone who quickly responds to his teasing and gets annoyed. honestly, if he’s not annoying you, is he really the one?
finally, being satoru gojo’s ideal type would include being as obsessed over him and his overall well-being as he is over you- but I feel like you already check that box if you’re reading this.

Tokyo revengers |°-context: you visit your grandparents at the country side and he willingly taged along
๑-featuring: kazutora, chifuyu, baji
°- Kazutora Hanemiya
• he had to get used to it for a while but afterwards he'd actually kinda enjoyed it
• would stroll around and admire the wide fields bigger than a football stadium in awe, he'd also lean against a tree or something and have a peaceful moment for himself while enjoying the birds chirping
• would give random scary looking spiders the most basic names like Dave and think it's funny (it's actually pretty funny)
• liked sitting by the furnace to put wood in to heat up the house, even if he did burn himself by accidentally touching the hot metal by the sides, he still liked being taught how to use it and be in charge of it
• got distracted for some time by sitting on the grass and watching a snail slowly move it's small body over a large rock, he was there for 7 minutes before he realised what he was doing, and the snail still hasn't gone over the rock since it decided to go in multiple random directions in the same spot- he was tempted in flicking it off with his finger but chose not to
• hated waking up in the morning tho, he was way too tired to keep his eyes open for more than a few seconds
• would he come back? it's not exactly his thing but if he were to pass by the area then he'd happily wonder about a little while
°- chifuyu matsuno
• he'd be enthusiastic about the amount of cows that are on the fields, the second he saw one cow he yelled out "cow! :o" but then when he saw a whole field of em he yelled out again "more cows! :D"
• beautiful sunsets over here and would take multiple photos of the sky
• would crouch down and inspect an odd insect that he's never seen before and think that he discovered an undiscovered bug and give it a whole scientific name that just consists of random phrases conjoined together and is hard to pronounce the second time
• at first he liked being given a job that included a lot of physical work but after a while he grew to dislike it, he still tried to finish it so that your grandparents wouldn't hate him for it - but the naps afterwards were delectable
• got woken up in the middle of the night and just sat there in bed for a while almost mesmerized by how dark it was, like- pitch black
• enjoyed the home grown fruits and vegetables, there was a clear difference between store bought compared to grown in the garden/field - he took a liking to the yellow apple tree most due to how sweet and semi soft the apples are
• would he come back? potentially if he wouldn't be put to do heavy work, he enjoys most of the other stuff tho
°- Baji Keisuke
• would pet the neighbours cats that are wondering about and try and feed them ham or something
• sits outside somewhere enjoying the breeze and the chirping birds in the distance, usually you wouldn't be able to hear this many birds all at the same time anywhere else other than the country side, not even in a nearby forest
• he'd be pretty chill at staying the night and enjoy looking at the stars since you can't see them clearly in the city
• mosquitos love him for some reason and he hates that he gets bit easily, only thing he hates about being here
• enjoyed chopping the wood with an axe to later use to heat the house up, he was pretty good at it as well but he was only allowed to do it a few times before the axe got taken away cause he nearly hurt himself. got kinda disappointed by that.
• would he come back? definitely, it's not a life style he'd want to commit to but for a short while he'd be chill with it

hey
what about a reader meeting Kazuha again once the vision hunt decree is over?
have a milo picture

𝐌𝐘 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆, 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐕𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐃!

❝𝐇𝐄'𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐃! 𝐊𝐀𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐊𝐀𝐙𝐔𝐇𝐀!❞
Those words leaving his father's lips were the loudest thing in the room then.
His (E/C) colored eyes widened as he stared at the older man.
It was the day after the news of the vision hunt degree was over, his grasp on his own vision as the view of the whole world was completely gone.
Kazuha....was back? For good?
"I have to go but I promise, I'll be back," Kazuha whispered as he hugged the other boy briefly before pecking him on the forehead. "Stay safe."
And just like that, he was out of the house in a flash.
He needed to see his lover.
He had to see that it was true that he was back.
Y/N dashed through the narrow streets of Inazuma, his heart pounding with a mixture of relief and worry. The chaos of the recent events had left him feeling drained and exhausted, but one thought kept driving them forward: finding Kazuha.
They had been separated during the chaos of the vision hunt decree, each forced to fend for themselves in the face of danger. Y/N had managed to escape with his life and the soldiers hadn't taken his vision, but his thoughts had been consumed by the safety of his partner.
Finally, he spotted him in the distance, standing alone on a quiet street corner. Relief flooded through Y/N as he hurried towards him, his footsteps echoing against the cobblestones.
"Kazuha!" the (H/C) haired male called out, his voice filled with urgency and relief.
Kazuha turned at the sound of his voice, his expression softening into a smile as he caught sight of Y/N. Relief flickered in his eyes as he stepped forward to meet him, his hand reaching out to grasp the other boy's hands.
"I'm so glad you're safe," Y/N said, their voice catching in their throat.
"I could say the same for you," Kazuha replied, his voice gentle and reassuring. "I was worried when I couldn't find you."
They stood there for a moment, their hands clasped together in silent solidarity. The chaos of the vision hunt decree had brought them closer together, forging a bond that felt unbreakable.
"Are you okay?" Y/N asked, his eyes scanning Kazuha's face for any signs of injury.
His hands let go of the others to gently caress the anemo user's cheeks.
"I'm fine," Kazuha reassured him with a small smile. "Just relieved that it's all over."
Y/N nodded as a weight lifted off his shoulders at the sound of Kazuha's voice. They had been through so much together, but somehow, they always managed to find their way back to each other.
As they stood there, bathed in the soft light of the setting sun, Y/N felt a sense of peace wash over them. They may have faced danger and uncertainty, but as long as Y/N had Kazuha by his side, he knew they could weather any storm.
"Now that you are here...."
A hand slapped the back of Kaedehara's head as the other boy glared at him. "WHAT THE ABSOLUTE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" he yelled at him not caring about the eyes that were on them still. "Going against the Raiden Shogun, ARE YOU MAD?!"
Kazuha stared at Y/N before chuckling and wrapping his arms around the other's smaller waist. "Haha, oh how I've missed you." he spoke softly. "Still the same, Wildflower."
A small blush formed on the other Inazuman's cheeks as he looked away.
"You just wanted to see me blush, didn't you?"
"Of course I did! I haven't seen you in a year..."
"You are lucky I love you."
"And I love you more, my Wildflower."
