My name is Baraa Al-Shorfa, I am 15 years old. We are a family of 6, my mother, father and 4 children, my youngest brother is 8 years old, since October 7, 2023, we have been suffering from a brutal war that has destroyed our dreams and hopes, and has gone beyond the limits of human comprehension. During this brutal war, we have endured hardships that mountains cannot bear. We suffer from severe water shortages, and we often walk about a kilometer to get one gallon of water, which is equivalent to about 16 liters, barely enough for five family members. We also suffer from severe food and nutrition shortages due to the blockade imposed on northern Gaza for 10 months, which prevents the entry of basic materials such as meat, vegetables and fruits. This situation has forced us to eat animal feed such as barley, which has caused us to lose weight, suffer from multiple diseases, and greatly weaken our immune systems. As a result of the war, our home and agricultural land that provided us with our daily sustenance were completely destroyed and bulldozed. We also suffered from repeated displacement, moving from one place to another and from one area to another due to the horrific and brutal bombing. We also suffer from fear and terror due to the heavy bombing, fire belts and explosives, the sound of tanks was very terrifying. In addition, we were deprived of education and the opportunity to build a future. My younger brothers suffer from skin diseases, but the hospitals, which are the lifeline for every patient and needy, were also destroyed. We face a shortage of medicines and vaccines while diseases are increasing and spreading among us, with no solution in sight as there are no hospitals or medical supplies available here in Gaza. We live in constant fear for my younger brothers because they have not received their general vaccinations, especially after the spread of polio due to the lack of cleaning supplies and the massive accumulation of waste in the streets. I also should have been vaccinated against Tetanus and Typhoid fever, but I did not receive them due to the lack of vaccinations, and sewage water flooded the streets, posing a serious threat to our children. We suffered from jaundice, where we struggled for about two weeks with fatigue, dizziness and other symptoms. It is a deadly disease, my brothers' little bodies became full of red pimples and as I mentioned before there is no treatment available due to the destruction of hospitals and health centers.
We also suffer from the absence of cooking gas, which forces us to use wood and plastic to light fires, which can lead to poisoning. We have been without electricity since October 7th, spending days in the dark, causing immense fear for my little brothers. This has also made it very difficult to charge our phones and night light batteries. We had to travel kilometers from our home to find places with electricity, which costs us a lot to charge our phones and batteries.
Moreover, we have not had a steady income since the beginning of the war.
This is our goal to achieve with your help.
I appeal to you to help my family so that we can live a better life.

Hello, I'm Kariman Dohan. I am writing this letter to you feeling a state of sadness and grief, after the war on Gaza completely destroyed our lives😔🤕. I was working as a teacher for children, but the school was destroyed and I lost my job😭😭. My husband was a fisherman, but the fishing boat, which was our only source of income, was badly damaged and did not return. Usable. My young son, Hamoud,🥹 suffers from malnutrition due to the lack of food and the polluted water we drink. My husband, Ayman Alwan, and I are trying with all our might to survive😞💔, but the situation has become too much for us to bear. We are desperate to escape to a safe place where we can start over, but we don't have enough money to do so.💔💔💔😔🥺 Therefore, I ask you for your generosity and kindness to help us so that we can overcome this crisis. Please consider our situation and help as much as you can by donating and sharing the link.💔🍉🥹😭😭😭😭

Hello, my name is Mohammed Nihad Ghazal from North Gaza. I have ambitions, dreams and a love for life like any young man in the world. I am supporting my family of 15 after my father was martyred in the cursed war that destroyed everything, but it seems that I will not be able to achieve my dream because of the brutal war on the Gaza Strip, which completely destroyed our home, and despite the harsh war, we did not leave North Gaza under inhumane conditions. We have suffered from illness, cold, hunger and drinking polluted water for more than 11 months, which we have suffered greatly from the loss of friends and relatives who were killed in the war for 330 days. I am appealing to you, the global community, for help. I have started a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising $20,000 to enable me and my family to find safety in Egypt. Evacuation fees change from time to time; we currently expect a cost of between $4,000 and $5,000 per person. Any additional funds generated will go to support my immediate needs and those of my family. There are many obstacles that we will face on the other side, and I hope that we can make things a little easier for us. I would like to share with you the situation now that the war has intensified. We are fine and safe, but life has become very difficult now around us, and people are suffering more and losing their loved ones every day. As a family, we have literally lost everything we own, our homes, ourhttps://gofund.me/f3e7e3c2 Hey there! I’m reaching out because my family and I are in a really tough spot, and any contribution you can make towards our evacuation from Gaza would mean the world to us—each donation brings us closer to safety and a fresh start. If you could click the link below to help or share it with others who might want to support us, it would make such a difference in our lives. Thank you for being so compassionate during this challenging time!
businesses, and we lost the dearest thing to us, my father, but we are trying to stay optimistic by thinking about evacuating and we heard good news today that the borders may open soon. We pray that this is true. Once we are evacuated, we will try hard to rebuild a small part of what we lost in Gaza. If we can achieve our ultimate goal, we will have the money to start a business to support our entire family. We want to be able to start over and not suffer anymore in Egypt. If everyone can help us with a small donation to achieve our ultimate goal, we will be able to rebuild our lives after everything was destroyed. All the positive words cannot express how generous you are in sharing my posts to inform other donors about the people of Gaza who are still suffering from the terrible conditions caused by the unjust war on Gaza. Please continue to support the just cause in the world either by donating directly or by sharing the link to other media. Do not hesitate to help people in difficult and miserable times until the dark days are over.

Hello there 👋
@islamgazaaccount3
Islam, a physical therapist, 27-year-old, is living in Gaza without any form of shelter or safety for himself and his family of 6 including his 85 years old grandfather who lost a hand from a prior Israeli bombing, and is barely able to perform everyday tasks due to a lack of clean water to wash his hand with. Their home was demolished by a bombing from the Israeli occupation. While shelter is crucial, they also urgently need food and water. All of their necessities were taken away.
Islam's blog has been restricted for the third time. He tried sharing a donation link, but with limited followers, it wasn't reaching enough people. Thankfully, he created a GoFundMe account, making it easier for those who want to help, but he is still extremely low on funds.
Please consider sharing Islam's story and donating to his GoFundMe. Even a small contribution can make a big difference in their time of need. 🙏❤️
you can find Islam's story here 👉 https://gofund.me/08ed0b8c
This fundraiser has been verified by @90-ghost @northgazaupdates2 @riding-with-the-wild-hunt @mushroomjar
this one has quite a while to go before reaching its goal, donate and/or share if you can!

Impoverished courtesy scam artists Harvey Specter
Entrapment videre licet fiendish gnarly hustling scheme erector - sent me to the poor house, where alms not forthcoming to ease financial affliction, where yours truly money matters still stymies ways and means to relocate to a two bedroom apartment courtesy low income housing. Eleven months ago to date, I fell prey to the wiles of a scam artist, who initially managed to hack way into the Macbook Pro rendering same computer I use now such that impossible mission to allow, enable, and provide any process to be completed. A gofundme page once again set up courtesy yours truly, which honest to goodness attempt to bolster substantial forsaken funds (essentially thieving joint nest egg of mine and the missus) deftly hawked pack of lies blindsiding me to surrender hook, line and sinker practically snagged and bled out these lovely bones mine every red cent squirreled away as a quite paltry monetary security net. The spectre and haunting existence of Harvey Specter (the alias cyber spatial highway robber) still riddles the psyche of this joker, who continues to chide himself, particularly when realizing combined lost assets lock, stock, and barrel meant that though poor as a Unitarian church mouse, I can not provide succor (in the form of American currency) which penury disallows us to dole out for our second born and youngest daughter, (who at age twenty five shares an accommodation in Bend, Oregon - with another twenty something gal a bajillion miles
from dear her ole papa and mama - located in southeastern Pennsylvania) paternal nor maternal capital to ease her own woebegone challenged situation. Said unnamed progeny, and her oldest sister (by about twenty six months difference) feel shortchanged by parents, whose bereft checking and savings accounts, plus truckload of mental health issues contributed to a dysfunctional heartache living poisoned ten year decade of misery. I admit unintentional grief heaped upon the souls of deux innocent lives which two offspring begat courtesy a virile birth father and fecund mother, whose joint home economic pennilessness (even prior to letting the pang of procreation run to sow wild oats) set at least one figurative strike against us when embarking to journey (as a super tramping foreigner) upon the family way. Utopia for wretched wordsmith would constitute enough disposable income to relocate within a place like Lake Wobegon "Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and all the children are above average." Its city motto is "Sumus Quod Sumus" ("We are what we are").

Guys, girls, friends of all kinds let me introduce you to Ahmed and his family✨
They have suffered much under the occupation in Gaza and need YOUR help. Yes YOU!
Did you know that helping out this family can be as simple as one reblog?
I'm serious!!
One reblog could mean a WORLD of change for these people and let me explain to you just HOW that is.
You see. there's quite a few buttons on this site. Likes, comments, shares, etc. and while likes and comments are awesome and show the posters what you like or enjoy, they don't really do much for the algorithm. They just tell Tumblr what YOU like and engage with so that they can start giving you more posts that are similar!
So what can we do to change the audience that these posts target?
Well for starters! Reblog! That puts these posts DIRECTLY ON YOUR BLOG for your friends and followers to see! And sometimes, the people that follow your mutuals can see those posts too! More people that see them!!
Shares are also extremely important for this kind of thing too! Even just sharing the post to a couple of your close friends so that THEY can reblog it can do even MORE wonderful things!!
So if you can't donate any money, there ARE free ways that you can help out families in need!!
And guess what else!
The minimum donation amount on GoFundMe is actually only $5!!
Imagine what could happen if you chip in ONLY $5. If the people who see your posts chip in $5! If your friends chip in $5! All those donations together could snowball into something amazing!
So please. Do what you can to help this family. Your support could be the change between life and death for these people.
Choose life.
Free Palestine 🍉
As always. This is a vetted and verified GoFundMe. Ahmed is only one of the multiple people who have reached out to me for support in drawing attention to their campaign.
Ahmed is a sweet, kind man who shows his gratitude at every chance he gets, keeping me updated on which goals we have met and which ones that we still need to strive for. For example, his younger brother, who now has enough money to escape Gaza among the rest of his family who still needs our support.
Their campaign is still dangerously low on funds which is why he asks of me to continue to update you all regularly on his campaign. He is hopeful that with your support, and with the people that these posts attract, that he and his family will continue to not just live, but grow to reach their full potential and make their dreams come true.
Ahmed and his family are real. They are real people with real dreams and real fears. Do not forget this.
Thank you.
If you follow my blog, you probably know Hazem Khalil [1][2][3]. He is a dentistry student in Belgium who has been fundraising to save his family back in the Jabalia Refugee Camp, Gaza.
I am here to bring to your attention his close friend Ahmed Khader. Ahmed and Hazem were neighbors and friends before they moved to Belgium. Ahmed (@ahmedpalestine) is in a similar situation - he left Gaza to pursue higher education years ago and now has to support his family from afar as they endure the unimaginable. Originally from the north, they are now stuck in al-Maghazi camp in Deir al-Balah, an area now being heavily targeted by IOF airstikes and a tank invasion.
Ahmed tells me his family is faced with a truly wretched dilemma: evacuate to another area or stay put and try to survive. It's a false choice. They will face bombings, poverty, tank invasions, disease, and starvation no matter where they go. Because genocide does not allow people to make choices. It aims to annihilate them entirely.
Ahmed's campaign has yet to raise 2000 euros. Let's get him to 5000 as soon as we can, and consistently support him going forward. This money will allow his family to finance both their continued survival in central Gaza and any evacuations they are forced into in the future. Through your contribution they may be able to ward off annihilation for one more day.

may i ask why you're becoming increasingly scared of the united states? if possible, can we also talk about the abortion law in Alabama (under friendly terms of course i don't want to victimize or target anyone)
I’m going to try and keep this short but know I won’t be able to because in reality the list is like this
and growing.
Here we go.
Note: This is all just off the top of my head, but I can provide sources for everything if needed
My state just banned abortions after 8 weeks, when most when don’t even know they’re pregnant. There’s been a decrease in resources available to pregnant women and children for ages and it’s not getting any better.
This is the same state that refused the medicaid expansion, so we’re extra fucked on health care
Remember the “legitimate rape” guy? Yeah, we elected him. He was one of ours.
Ferguson
Abortions are being banned before assault rifles.
It’s literally a serious debate as to whether or not minimum wage people deserve a livable wage.
We as a culture have just decided that school shootings are just ‘things that happen’ and ‘there’s nothing that can be done about them’.
A judge just ruled that the police at the Parkland shooting had no obligation to try and stop the shooting or protect the students.
Birth control is becoming more and more expensive and more and more scarce.
Planned Parenthoods and like institutions are being closed down nation wide for zero fucking reason, even in light of the fact that such closures lead to dramatic increases in STDs and unwanted pregnancies
The most common camp
My president is a racist, homophobic, reality TV show host who thinks windmills cause cancer. He quite literally has demonstrated he has no idea of how government or even money works. Oh, he’s also a proud sexual assaulter and adulterer.
My president has demonstrated time and time again, on about a daily basis, that he is not mentally sound or capable of doing the job, yet his own party refuses to do anything about it.
Since being in office, his policies and tariffs have fucked over the farming industry, and now other industries due to his fucking tariffs.
Said president put in place an EO that forced children to be separated from their families at the border for no legally justifiable reason.
This is still happening
We’ve since lost THOUSANDS of those children. Most of them will never be reunited with their families. And in many instances, young children who were reunited with their families often rejected them as they no longer recognized them. Don’t even get me started on the child trauma.
This was done as a tactic by the Republicans to blackmail the Democrats into funding the wall.
A majority of the country does not want a wall, border patrol included, but Trump is forcing it through anyway. Aside from being both useless and racist, it will cost tax payers billions an displace tons of American citizens.
Our healthcare system. Healthcare is horrific. A single hospital visit can easily put someone tens of thousands of dollars in debt. Many doctors refuse to see patients who do not have insurance, or who do not have ‘good enough’ insurance.
The most popular campaigns on sites like GoFundMe are for medical expenses. Frequently people have been dying because their campaigns fell short. Notably a young man died because he couldn’t afford insulin. He was $13 dollars short.
It is easier for me to purchase an assault rifle than for me to purchase and register a car.
I can buy guns at fucking Walmart
As an LGBTQ individual:
It’s still a debate as to whether or not I or people like me deserve basic human rights
My vice president supports conversion therapy. (He also calls his wife Mother’ and no body seems willing to admit how weird that sounds)
There are still many active entities trying to repeal my right to marry whoever the fuck I want.
What transgender people have to go through. I’m just gonna leave it at that or we’ll be here all week.
As a woman:
Without insurance, my birth control, a 1 month supply, is $135.
Birth control is becoming increasingly more and more difficult to obtain, particularly for low income individuals.
Planned Parenthoods and like institutions are being shut down at an alarming rate, despite oodles of proof that this does not even remotely benefit the community, in fact, it harms it as there tends to be a massive spike in STDs
A man who raped a woman behind a dumpster got 6 months in prison but I’ve got family in jail for non violent weed charges.
It’s 2019 and people are still fervently rejecting the idea that women are equal and should be treated and paid equally.
The Georgia abortion ban
Rape culture
As a black woman:
Sandra Brown. Philando Castille. Mike Brown. Tamir Rice. Trayvon Martin. I’m going to stop naming names because I’m going to cry.
An unarmed black person getting gunned down by police is not even a rare occurrence. And it has almost never resulted in any real trouble for the police officer(s)
The fact that I’ve never touched a gun in my life but have had them pulled on me.
The fact that me and several of my friends took the subway with student passes. I was the only one stopped and interrogated because the officer refused to believe that I was a student. I have two degrees. All my friends were white, if that wasn’t obvious. I can’t count how many times I’ve been stopped and searched and publicly humiliated because I walked into a store and ‘totally must’ve stolen something.
Look at the incarceration
As a tax payer:
My government would rather spend money giving billionaires tax cuts then ensuring that children don’t go hungry
They would rather build a fucking wall that quite literally is going to do nothing to stop immigration than try and improve our infastructure
We spend more than the next 12 nations combined on our military for largely no reason at this point. We waste billions on technology that doesn’t even work.
We can’t provide free college for all but we can provide tax cuts and benefits to corporations that do not need them.
Measure after measure are being put in place to try and stop minorities from voting, notably in Georgia.
TL;DR: Given the way my country is headed, which is towards criminalizing my race, my sexuality, limiting the rights and resources of my gender and intentionally hindering advancement overall. Towards violence being the norm and children being short to death in kindergarten being nbd. I live in a country where the Vegas shooter who killed over 50 people and wounded hundreds more had headline articles run about how sweet of a man he was and how h was so generous he bought his grandmother a wheelchair but a literal child playing with a toy gun was called a criminal and demonized. I live in a country that does not value human life unless you are a heterosexual white Christian male. Or, more accurately, a wealthy, heterosexual white Christian male. Me just existing as I am is becoming more and more dangerous each day.
What specifically about the abortion law(s) would you like to talk about?

Go Fund Us? an Interview with Professor Lauren Berliner
Paul Smith by Joshua Lucero This interview originally appeared in Challenger BMX Magazine Volume 2, Issue 4. Winter 2018/2019. Interview by Nick Ferreira When I first donated to someone’s GoFundMe medical campaign, I thought it was an innocent idea: Someone is in need and they don’t have enough money to pay for it. Seems like a no-brainer. But as I began to think about this concept of a private web site acting as a safety net for healthcare (not to mention the countless other types of campaigns, but we’re talking medical here), it all started to feel incredibly troubling and confusing.* Luckily there’s people out there researching this stuff. People like Professor Lauren Berliner, a faculty member at the University of Washington Bothell. Berliner works in the area of critical media practice and with the anthropologist Nora Kenworthy, co-authored the paper, “Producing a worthy illness: Personal crowdfunding amidst financial crisis.” This paper, published August 2017 in Social Science & Medicine, discusses things like media literacy, the idea of “deservingness,” and how GoFundMe perpetuates the inequality of the US healthcare system. Professor Berliner talked with me about her research and how it intersects with our small world of BMX
One of the things you discussed in the article is this idea of “deservingness.” What is deservingness and what do you think some of the more troubling aspects of deservingness are that came up in your research? In general the idea that we are bombarded with so many campaigns at this point. Our attention is just not split amongst medical campaigns. On social media we have campaigns competing for lots of different issues. You might have one on your feed looking for funding for medical or another one that is really compelling for car repair funds. It’s not like you are only comparing medical campaigns when you are thinking about deservingness. In talking to crowdfunders and looking at the ways in which people write about their needs in crowdfunding campaigns it became very apparent that people are trying to frame themselves and their stories as deserving of funds. We live in a country in which asking for money is often associated with shame and self-sufficiency and the “bootstrap mythology” really prevails. When you have to ask for money it’s very hard even if you can point to a million systemic failures to say well, “yeah we actually still really need this.” So people who have very discrete, concrete asks: “we have everything we need but we need money for this treatment that is possibly going to save this child.” The campaigner might be imagining that the reader is looking for reasons why this person should not get the money. Because we hear a lot about fraud in campaigns. And people tend to approach them with a bit of suspicion if they don’t know the people involved very well. And so deservingness is, at least from talking to people who want to prove it in the healthcare arena, that they’ve done all they can to take care of themselves, and therefore they are deserving. There’s two modes of deserving: “I am deserving” and then there’s the flip side: “There’s nothing I did to deserve this.” Where, when you think about certain kinds of cancer linked to smoking or sexual transmitted illnesses or other kinds of health conditions that have been linked to stigmatized practices, it’s much harder and we see much fewer of those kinds of cases.
Yeah and that’s part of what I’ve been thinking about in regards to BMX, skateboarding, snowboarding, etc. It’s a risk adverse activity. I think a lot of people think why would I give this person money if they knew what they were getting into. I don’t know if there’s a right answer to this—it seems like a moral question, but also seems like a slippery slope. What’s the difference between someone who went for a run and got hit by a car vs. someone who is riding BMX because it’s healthy and fun? When you first contacted us, I had the same thought. You are dealing with a sport that a lot of people would stay away from because by virtue it seems risky. I’d imagine in the realm of BMX related cases, where the person has an injury due to the sport, not if they are in the community and get cancer, but if it’s something injury related. Or, even someone who does have cancer and their goal is to get better so they can do BMX again, there’s a way in which that might potentially be a hinderance for them. But the flip side is that their network and community are people who are part of the community. And probably, I would imagine, from what we’ve seen the more the campaigner ties themselves to an already in place community the more likely they are to get funds because they have that sympathy across networks.
You are completely right. And I think that us something that BMX prides itself on that. Which is really kind of beautiful. I think that’s an aspect of crowdfunding that is quite nice. But to speak to your article and your research, I think it does take away the conversation from the fact that a better health care system would mean we wouldn’t need to be doing this. Right or when we talk to people in countries where they do have universal healthcare and the things people are campaigning for are not the actual healthcare. It’s the stuff around it: travel to a care facility, the kinds of nice things to have when you are bed-ridden, travel for family. Not the actual procedures and medicines, etc.
I think that leads to this next question, people talk about shows like Black Mirror and how we are one step away from dystopia. But this idea of self marketing, to me seems like it is already a super dystopian scenario. You have to prove yourself to get your healthcare paid for on a web site that takes 5% of your costs. Yes. Well at this point they aren’t taking 5% anymore but they do have this tip model which is super confusing to people, even to myself, and I work on this topic. I was giving to a campaign and it said “Would you like to give a tip?” and when I see “tip” I think of the service model and people who are working class who are trying to get tips on top of low wages and my do-gooder instinct is “Oh yeah, provide a tip” (laughs). And then I thought about it and I thought “this tip is not for the person, the tip is for GoFundMe.” And the word tip—I find the word tip very manipulative personally.
For sure. I donated to a friend’s campaign not too long ago and I thought ,"Hell no. Why would I donate to GoFundMe. That seems insane." It’s interesting because we are at a point, you mentioned self-marketing, but self-marketing and branding has been increasingly part of our popular culture and our social theatre for, I would say, 10 years with the emergence of web 2.0 and people engaging in different forms of self produced media like YouTube channels and Facebook pages. And so the idea of cultivating a unified brand or expressing one’s values and needs through social media, is something that we’ve been slowly naturalizing ourselves to. So it’s not like crowdfunding comes along and suddenly bam—we’re self-marketing. We’ve been self-marketing but it’s being applied to different concepts. So the dystopia is part of a larger, I mean there’s so many things connected to the dystopian vision of our world right now, everything from climate change to all the different events happening around the world. This is just one piece. And you can see the ways in which the “goodness of the crowd” or sharing economy is continually pointed to as a way out of social and economic ills. So like “Oh, help the migrants that came through San Diego.” Everyone get behind this with money or send blankets. That kind of approach is super well intentioned and very impactful, most of the time, but that’s where the energy is going.
Totally and that brings me to my last question and I think the problem with a lot of these campaigns is that it continues to undermine these public and social institutions that, I think, should be the things that are taking care of people in a first world country and if they aren’t “profitable” they are the devil. I feel like, to that point, in the past 5 years since Nora (Kenworthy) and I have started working on this project, the idea of crowdfunding has become so popularized to the point of becoming part of most people’s everyday experience. Whereas when we started, we had to explain what crowdfunding meant. It was a very new area.
That’s so interesting. Yeah. There’s ways we’ve become naturalized to its existence as a means of survival. It helps to further obscure super abstract areas of our healthcare system in general. So knowing how much your hospital or doctor is going to charge you is generally a mystery until you get the bill. And even when you get the bill it’s still pretty much a mystery unless you track down how much this Tylenol is and the adjustments your insurance company will make, if you’re lucky enough to have insurance, is also really confusing. And most people, if you’re like me, just kind of lean back and go “okay, I’m going to sit and let the bills collect and then figure it out” and so then on the flip side asking for funding is equally abstract. People who set up Go Fund Me’s we talk to are like “I don’t know how much to ask for. We don’t know how much this is going to cost.” Just even doing the math and then deciding what are people willing to give. There’s a lot of economic reckoning people are doing that is not guided by whatever resources are available for people in need or should be available for people in need. But really just trying to dance around or with this really abstract, weird medical care system that does not put people’s health first.
*Big Editor's Note: In no way would I ever blame someone for using GoFundMe nor do I think it is bad if you make a GoFundMe campaign. I want to emphasize that this is a critique of the US healthcare system and the techno utopia we are often told will save us. I don't know the answers but I'm trying to learn more. Thanks to Lauren Berliner for taking the time to discuss this stuff with me.

Reunited Under False Pretense
Who: Quinton Fabray & Rachel Berry
When: 6/28 ; Evening
Where: The Skate Park
What: Quinn sells drugs to the last person he ever imagined he would.
Warnings: its a drug deal babes
Rachel feels rather scandalous as she walks through the campus and to the skate park. This however, is not for show. Lately she’d been so tired and unable to keep up her energy in all that she does. Which means her workouts had to be cut short or cut out completely and she couldn’t go dancing for fun anymore. She’d heard of lots of other people using drugs to help keep them awake and alert and the side affect making it hard to eat- just helped her little problem that was beginning to disrupt her life. She makes it to the skate park just as the sun started setting and she waited for Q to arrive.
Quinn wasn't even sure who he was looking for, but it didn't matter. It was easier if people approached him. The less he knew about his clients, the better. But he knew people would be leaving the skatepark and he was looking for the person coming, no going. What he hadn't expected, was the person who he actually saw approach, from his place behind one of the half-pipes, a cigarette still lit between his lips. With a sigh, and a nod of his head to the few people hanging around, he grabbed his backpack from the ground and set off on his board. Rachel Berry. Rachel Fucking Berry was buying from him. Well, presumably. It was also likely this was a coincidence and whoever he was buying from just hadn't shown yet. Either way he skates through her line of sight before ducking back behind another halfpipe. Time would tell.
She didn’t expect to be stepping foot on the cement itself where everyone does their skating tricks- but Q was riding away from her. It had to be quite clear that she didn’t belong there and had to have ulterior motives. “You shouldn’t be smoking you know. It’s bad for your lungs. And mine.”
Quinn was leaning against the back of the halfpipe when Rachel approached him, taking the last few dregs of his cigarette before putting it out on the bottom of his shoe. Making a point to blow the smoke away from Rachel, he rolled his eyes. "I'd give you a gold star for that lovely information, except, y'know, you're buying speed and have literally no room to talk." There was an edge to his voice, an ice he hadn't heard there in a long time. He didn't want to get into it with her. He didn't even want to be doing this, now that he knew who he was selling to. But money was money and he needed the funds for bottom surgery before he could get his gender marker changed on his license.
“I love gold stars.” Rachel murmurs, looking down at her feet. He is right, after all, but it isn’t like she enjoyed the fact she had sunk this low. “You’re selling it. I think we can both agree we’re no better than the other.” Rachel perks up just a bit and reaches into her backpack to get the money. “There’s a thousand here.”
Quinn murmurs a quiet, "I know," under his breath, as he unzips his backpack. "Drugs are a faster crowd source fund than a gofundme, or believe me, I wouldn't be doing it." Quinn scoffs as he digs into the bottom, pulling up a bag of pills. It wasn't entirely true, he'd likely still sell after surgery but e still had testosterone to pay for on a regular basis, along with other medical expenses. But she didn't need to know that. "120 will cost you $960, I drop in five more and it's a flat thousand. What do you want?"
“I want you to just take the thousand and not talk about this with anyone ever again.” Rachel feels uneasy as she grabs for the bag, money in other hand to hand to him. “I’m in no place to judge you for anything. You have to do whatever it takes to get what you need.”
Quinn just sighs, a, "Whatever, Berry." dropping from his lips as he takes the cash and drops it into his bag. He needs a drink, or something, and he can't tell if it's because he just sold a thousand dollars worth of drugs to Rachel Fucking Berry or because this was Rachel Fucking Berry who was still in Lima Fucking Ohio. Okay, so it was probably some combination of the two, but he was going to get stoned out of his mind when he got home. That's all he knew.(edited)
“Thank you.” She carefully places the bag into her backpack, unable to shake away the uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach. “I’ll see you around I suppose?” And before he can answer, she turns on her heels and walks away from the skate park. Had he just called her Berry?

Hey there everybody! We chatted with the radiation oncologist this morning, as scheduled. He was very nice, but of course, 10 minutes after getting on he had to abruptly leave to go do a procedure "in the other room for 10-15 minutes"...which, true to Memorial Time, lasted closer to 45 minutes...so it goes! We spent a good deal of time reviewing all of my history, as always, before discussing the merits and drawbacks of radiation therapy. Considering a number of major factors, particularly that it is a recurrence and that the tumor penetration was actually quite extensive into the muscle and against the bone, it is being recommended that I proceed with a 30 dose, 6 week course of external beam radiation to minimize the risk of any future occurrence. This would be administered in 1 hour appointments M-F at either the West Harrisson or NJ sattelite offices, or the main hospital. The goal would be to start at the beginning of May. No one is yet 100% sure whether all of the risks outweigh the benefits--a number of my other doctors need to be consulted, and my case will once again be brought before a multidisciplinary committee next week--so expect to hear more then! There's a lot more about the specifics to follow, but that's basically the gist of it. [Ideally, the dental work would be completed before hand. However the dental team has been consulted and they are confident that they would be able to managed everything effectively as long as we commence within 12 weeks of completion.] Unfortunately, due to Murphy's (Gillen's) Law, like many of my other conditions, sebaceous carcinoma is in fact exceptionally rare: on the order of 1 or 2 per million. As such, there is basically no data on...basically anything about it! It is known to be fairly aggressive, and the radiation oncologist, Dr. Barker, seemed to feel that it was most useful to compare it to squamous cell carcinoma. So, at his best estimation, after a removal like this with very clear margins, there is about a 20% chance of recurrence if we do nothing. With this course of radiation, there is hopefully only a 5-10% chance. Still not eliminated, but a significant improvement. Again, unfortunately, these are both very rough estimates because there is just no data on sebaceous carcinoma. Additionally, there are a number of rather disconcerting side effects and long term effects, including permanent loss of facial hair, skin discoloration, damage to the lining of the mouth and nose, etc. These would n’t start until about 3 weeks in, and would worsen until week 6, then slowly get better over 6 weeks Even more worrisome, especially in light of the fact that I have now spontaneously grown at least 2 unrelated 1-in-a-million aggressive cancers, is the the risk of developing an unrelated malignancy in the bone or muscle--as complicated as dealing with a recurrence of the sebaceous carcinoma would be, these would be even morseo. It is once again impossible to give truly accurate probabilities, but Dr. Barker estimated a 1 in 500 chance of one of these malignancies. On the one hand, that sounds reassuringly low...on the other hand, it sounds a like a lot more than 1 in a million, eh? To minimize the occurrence of all of these side effects, there is really only one option. The overall dose cannot be decreased, because there is essentially a minimum dose below which the effectiveness is drastically reduced. What they can do is split the dose up--this is why it is already split up over 6 weeks--theoretically they could deliver the entire dose in one day, but the side effects would be devastating. They also cannot really stretch it beyond 6 weeks, or the total efficacy begins too decrease. What they CAN do, however, and what they generally do for pediatric patients (and did indeed do when I received a much smaller dose as a child) is split each of those daily doses in 1/2. This does require a 6 hour gap between the treatments, however, which introduces a significant increase in the logistical complexities required. Despite the complexities, this is my instinct for the plan we should follow, if we do it at all. [This in particular is where the GoFundMe comes in, as meeting these planning requirements will undoubtedly require a significant financial outlay. ...but honestly I'm not focused on that at this time and if necessary I will make a bigger push down the line; it's not immediately needed and people have already been so generous...let's all help each other get through the next couple of weeks first ;)] So I think that just about covers it, we will be considering things and waiting to hear more next week. Besides all of this stuff, things are going well! Getting in two walks out in nature a day, eating lots of good cooking courtesy of my mom and our roommate Cathy, lots of good reading and gaming and watching to be done. (I’ve particularly enjoyed “Avenue 5” with Hugh Laurie, Call of the Wild with Harrison Ford, Picard with Patrick Stewart, as well as “High Maintenance” and the entire Keanu Reeves canon.) Feeling blessed, despite it all, hope everyone can say similar… Live long and may the force be with you, Seb https://www.gofundme.com/manage/seb-gillen-quothere-we-go-againquot-surgery-fund

***PLEASE SHARE IF YOU CAN***
Hi guys, I hate asking for help bit I really need it right now. Im currently £1,590 indebted to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Dramatic Arts with no way out.
There’s no possible way I can fund this all by myself so I was hoping to reach out to you all. if you could even donate just £1 to help me that would be amazing!!!
I’ve thought about leaving the college to get rid of the fees but even if I did that I’d still be required to pay them off. My parents can’t help because I’m from a low income background and I agreed to fund it myself. I thought I could fund it with the money from my job but I work minimum wage (£5.60) and they never give me more hours. I plan to quit and find a new job to support me but until then I need help.
you can read more about it at my gofundme where I’ve included a bunch of info on myself and photo’s etc.
If you’re uncomfortable with gofundme, I have a Paypal too.
Here’s the link: paypal.me/nikkyjayne
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!!!! I know it’s annoying seeing people begging for money and I apologise but theres nothing else I can do.
Thank you, Nicole!

Energetic Navigation 28 October – 3 November
Energetic Navigation 28 October – 3 November
By A Gift From Gaia
Progressively speeding up as we move deeper into the Solar Minimum and yet we have barely begun, the energy we find ourselves in is transforming those consciously aware rapidly, moving through realisations and releases almost hourly compared to how it was not so long ago when “things” would take “time”, of course, we realise that the “time” we took was again part of what required releasing and by releasing the lower aspects of this energy spectrum, the weighted time of the human linear way, it became Divine Time which simply showed the love within the energy, the light, and offers perfection in every moment. To exist in Divine Time is to be in a space of complete surrender, it’s a space where judgement would be self-sacrificing and defense creates internal wounds, Divine Time is the higher conscious view of Saturns playing ground and once you acknowledge our Lord and the rules on the gate he will gift you with the most magical experience as you release the restrictions of the lower octave programming we came to accept and be ruled by.
Breaking Free is a theme of energy that we have been surfing all this year, releasing from the Devil Tarot Card that represents the Capricorn energy, but as we know the Devil represents the low octaves of the human, the machine, the blind and so to use the old unconscious ways of the fear spectrum such as defense and judgment, blame and shame allows those loose chains to remain in place, those chains are not fixed, they are easily removed and so the choice to remain has always been yours.
The resistance creates disharmony, release brings magical celestial harmonics and with these Mars square Saturn and Pluto transits that are now reactivated for the next couple of weeks, the Mars square Saturn lined up yesterday and the Mars square Pluto is heading in now, we are continuing to learn how to ride this wild stallion, although perhaps some have mistakenly picked up the wild bull as it went charging past, see that’s a little different energy, the stallion holds heart, he can be tamed, the bull on the other hand doesn’t seem to hold the ability to connect, has no care, just wants to charge his angry self into every obstruction, and will eventually burn out his energy and most likely refuse to move for quite some time.
Both patterns, both rides are super important, those choosing the charging bull will no doubt learn to catch a ride with the stallion next time around and by that phase the chances are the bull will have allowed you to observe why you chose him, that the walls you had built up around, caked in unconscious belief systems posters and flyers to keep the truth of the wall hidden behind pretty dreamy pictures and fluff dressed in pity MUST come down.
This energy however you choose to move through is evolving us, taking us on lightspeed travels, zipping parts of our minds back into our ancient self, to retrieve data required for the now, and yet the next minute we are travelling with the ancient future self to receive the confirmation because the gems being retrieved are often beyond imagination and require boosts to fully understand the resonance and the codes held.
This means MORE raising of the physical body vibration, more listening to its requirements and acting in the moment as opposed to the old ways of waiting/weighting, which only ever slows us down, ignoring the most subtle signs of the body, even so much as making the request for thirst or hunger dissolve and opting for avoidance tactics signals to the body a lack of interest, a lack of unconditional love, there will be no self healing until EVERYTHING the body says is understood and innerstood, meaning we act upon everything, in the NOW because the now is the space in which we choose, now is The Creator of the ever evolving you.
This Mars energy we are experiencing is such a powerful clearing and creative energy if you understand how it behaves, and once that is understood we realise it is simply our own energy, emanating out from within and using the power of creation to highlight where our creation is not in harmony with our highest aligned timeline, and he is showing us the wounded masculine in its process of healing, as he is hot on the heels of the feminine, Venus, who is just one step ahead, Mars is focused, he is heading out of the underworld where he has been hidden behind the sun and he is now making the most out of this journey, fully aligned, fully committed to begin to unify with the feminine, the wounded masculine within is ready to support, ready to place his energy where it matters, within, to show his Queen her value, the true twin flame within, is ready to merge and become One very powerful light force energy.
What makes this more magical is that Saturn holds no expectation and the lesson is to realise it is the motion that matters, holding the awareness and making steady positive steps, in fact any speed or idea of rushing, pushing or charging ahead will only create an experience to understand patience, and again to step back into the flow of Divine Time allowing this to form so it can show you all the magical light gems along the way, and we don’t want to miss a single one, every light gem is so ridiculously valuable especially during this Dark Moon energy we have been surfing leading into todays Scorpio New Moon, which is opposing Uranus in Taurus, there is the bull again and he is acting rather jumpy with Uranus on his back, taking random turns, bucking and spinning, this is pure expect the unexpected energy, and for the cosmic surfers this is likely to bring a whole heap of new ideas and ways to underpin the new physical body vibrational upgrades you have been focusing on, this is something I noticed just a couple of days ago as myself and Reese, my son, have been adding some rather new and interesting things to our diets to assist on his road to recovery.
I would also like to just say a massive thank you to everyone who has been donating and sharing our fund, you have all encouraged him MORE than I could have imagined as he is now listening and open to trying natural ways to heal himself, a few days ago he would refuse ALL, didn’t believe anything would work other than the meds, we have so many new things and we are sharing them together, and yarrow tea seems to be quite a favourite. We had so many messages and a whole list of things to try which I read out to him, and talked to him about and just that, just by those messages of love from you all out there has helped him open up to receive and try more things to support this disease. We do have an awfully long road ahead of us though and we will still require some extra support as I am paying privately for Hydrotherapy sessions and so if these energetic navigation reports assistance you in anyway could I please ask for a small donation to the Help My Son Walk Again fund I have set up on GoFundMe (link below), however if you would rather donate through Paypal please do so using the email address – [email protected] or hit the link paypal.me/agiftfromgaia
What has been interesting to See in this is that there is a reflection of weakness, whilst I don’t have Ankylosing Spondylitis I have become aware we do have weakness in the same area which is why we are now healing this as One body, he is afterall a future version of myself, his template was created during times of dis-ease and of course this becomes the baseline frequency of his genetic makeup, so it makes sense we do this together.
But what this experience has been showing is exactly how this all works, how when you release all fear and restriction, when you listen to the requests of the body, when you care more, when you prioritise Self and plug only into that which nourishes, which incorporates all feeds that enter the field, then the experience becomes nothing short of enlightening and therefore rapid, the moment you release the push and the need what transpires is the flip, the rise and the expansion into new healthFULL experiences and by using the signposts being delivered by our celestial map it becomes an incredibly INjoyable transition.
The Scorpio New Moon energy takes us in deep, it allows so much to be seen and released to begin yet another transformative week that sees us welcoming in the backwards dance of Mercury in Retrograde, we are dredging the pool of Scorpio, we are digging away at the bottom and there will no doubt be more data to be found as ancient relics are unearthed giving us yet more clues as to why we find ourselves here and from these clues we will soon realise new paths opening up for us to journey.
This Mercury Retrograde is coupled with a solar wind prediction, we await the codes heading in and I will be back to translate. Stay present in the heart angels and open into pure acceptance for how the guidance moves us.
Please place a 💙 in the comment box to keep the heartbeat of A Gift from Gaia alive in the body of Facebook and please share the post or invite those you feel will resonate to this space, one small action can change the entire dynamics of a reality, you may just be turning on the light for someone lost in the dark.
Here is the GoFundMe page to support my son Reese and his healing, it is essential we get him walking now as we are already facing irreversible damage.

Charlie Gard is not a victim of single-payer healthcare.
Okay, I'm seriously getting tired of seeing articles about Charlie Gard being shared with "This is what you want, liberals?" and "Liberals want THIS to happen in America" tacked on.
Charlie Gard is not a victim of socialized healthcare. He wasn't denied treatment because of the cost -- he was denied treatment because a) it wasn't likely he would survive the trip from the UK to the US and b) there was no evidence that the treatment would actually help him. If it were about the money, the case would've been dropped when the GoFundMe produced enough money to cover his treatment. The doctors and the courts ruled in favor of NOT MAKING A CHILD SUFFER more than he was already suffering.
But why couldn't his parents take him home to die? Because he can't breathe on his own. Because there was a good chance he wouldn't even make it home. Because keeping him in the ICU meant his best chances at dying in the least amount of pain possible. Because disconnecting him from all of that equipment would MAKE HIM SUFFER.
And for God's sake, do any of you REALLY believe this would have played out better in the US? I mean...REALLY?
Folks. Get with the program.
If Charlie Gard had been born in the US, his parents would have had to set up a GoFundMe to cover the hundreds of thousands of dollars it took just to keep him alive and comfortable in the hospital. In fact, it would quite likely be well into the millions by now. All that before there was even discussion of how to raise funds for the experimental treatment.
If his parents' insurance (assuming they had it) covered his treatment in the hospital, Mom or Dad had better keep working their normal hours because losing your job means losing your healthcare.
When the medical costs exceeded what their insurance was willing to pay, it's entirely possible they would have had to go on Medicaid (which still exists at the moment, but the GOP isn't done yet). In order to be on Medicaid, they'd have to liquidate their assets, not make over a certain amount of money each month, and never have more than $2,000 at any given moment. I've gotten mixed answers about whether the proceeds of a GoFundMe qualify, and could get someone kicked off Medicaid, but it's a thing his parents would have had to investigate before setting up the fund. Essentially, in order to be on Medicaid, you have to live in poverty even if you would have -- without the snowballing medical expenses -- been able to support yourselves just fine. You have to reduce yourself to poverty in order to qualify for Medicaid, and stay that way. Because those are the kinds of things the parents of a terminally ill infant should have to worry about.
If treatment had become available, Charlie's access to it would hinge entirely on whether his insurance or Medicaid was willing to cover it. If his insurance wasn't great to begin with, he could very easily be denied access to a *proven* treatment simply because of the cost. Given that the treatment in question was experimental, the likelihood of that access drops to extremely low. Given that there was no evidence it would have any affect at all on his particular condition, the likelihood is reduced to basically zero.
Note that the insurance company doesn't have the power to say "you can't have this treatment." They just have the power to not pay for it. With the cost of healthcare in the US, that's basically the same thing. By this stage, Charlie's parents would be so deep in debt, the GoFundMe they have right now would be covering the treatment he's already had, not the treatment they want.
I will grant you that the courts would probably not rule in favor of discontinuing treatment and focusing on palliative care because death is to be prevented at all costs. We're still debating whether lucid adults should be able to end their lives instead of suffering, so we're a long way off from accepting that sometimes the best course of action is to reduce suffering rather than prolong life. We're kinder to our animals than we are to fellow humans. See also: Terry Schiavo.
Charlie Gard's situation is truly sad and tragic, but if you're using it to condemn a single-payer healthcare system, then your ignorance of our current system is astounding. Neither system is without its flaws, but don't think for a second that Charlie's situation would have been any less tragic in the United States.
