Imo, there's no way they immediately hit off, and it would mostly be because of Reid. The younger he is, the more he had this “someone will fuck me over at any given moment” mindset (thinking specifically of Morgan and Reid's 7 second fight in “The popular kids”). In my head Morgan might have been immediately friendly and jokey jokey and Reid was kind of defensive for a whole minute.

On the other hand yeah you’re right, Derek in the pilot episode was already wary of Gideon's judgement, so it makes perfect sense to me that he wasn’t convinced at all, and that probably showed. Reid must have been very aware he was perceived as “the kid who worked half as hard as everyone else to get here” gideons nepo baby

So yeah there WAS a moment where they clicked but it wasn’t immediate. Probably during a case where Reid was desperate to prove himself and Morgan was like STOP omg STOP IT

Jet and Zuko have such an incredibly funny dynamic to me. because it feels like the dynamic of two characters who never interacted in canon so the fandom came up with a bunch of headcanons for how they would interact (with very homosexual undertones) except. it’s actually canon. it actually happened. if you get what I’m trying to say.
