The evolution of Tanthai's head on Thee's shoulder.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did Thee remove Tanthai’s watch for him? And his rings? He placed them so carefully on the nightstand. And left Tanthai a glass of water. He just wants to take care of Tanthai and make sure he’s safe and happy. How many times has he had to do this? How many times has he driven a drunk Tanthai home? How many times has he carried Tanthai out of a bar? How many nights has he lost sleep, so he can keep watch outside Tanthai’s window all night? And Tanthai answers his call right away and looks almost concerned. And he doesn't want to worry him, so he doesn't mention his nightmare. There's so much love there 😭

5 reasons to watch Laws of Attraction
Tumblr media
Charn:
Evil, but only because of his Dark Backstory.
Fake-smiles creepily all the time except sometimes his opponents catch him off guard and he can't quite maintain it, and other times his crush does something and he smiles genuinely and it is so. good. every time.
Will burn down your house, but means well
Don't call him 'uncle'
Tumblr media
Grandma:
Knows what her grandson likes
Is kind to neighborhood dogs
Ride-or-die for Charn even though he almost killed her a little
Tumblr media
Tinn:
Good uncle
Has morals. Too many?
Definitely does not like the evil lawyer who has forced his way into Tinn's life
But he's still not going to share
Tumblr media
Tanthai:
Cannot hold his liquor
Good shirts
I don't like him yet, but I'm willing to see him redeemed
Tumblr media
Thee:
Always looks simultaneously disappointed with and in love with Tanthai
Stands outside his charge's window like fucking Romeo waiting for the lights to come on
Knows Something
Bonus:
Tumblr media
THEM
No rationale needed

So they grew up together, they were childhood friends.
Do you think Tanthai used to come to Thee every time he had a scrap, every time he got scolded by his father? Was Thee, a little older, maybe just a little more serious, always there to wipe his tears and put a band-aid on his knee, to take his hand and run away with him to hide and play in the garden until his father calmed down? (Do you think the gardener knowingly kept silent about the mess they made in the flower beds when they played ball, indulgent ?)
Tumblr media
Do you think that's why, despite Thee's current silence and inaction, despite how he accuses him of only staying by his side for money, Tanthai still seems to trust him? Why he keeps turning to him, keeps asking him again and again and again to please take him away from here? - like Thee is the only who could.
Tumblr media
They were friends, and now Thee looks like he can't even touch him, taking a step back when Tanthai moves like he's going to reach for him. What happened since that picture? Did Thee grew up, a little faster than Tanthai, realizing that what he felt was changing? That the way they were with each other would start to attract disapproving looks and comments? Did he add this to the awareness of his situation regarding the Senator's family, of propriety and what was acceptable, and realize that this could not happen? That he had to distance himself (as much as he could, because despite it all he knew he couldn't go away)?
Tumblr media
Did Senator Thatthep notice the comfort his son found in Thee, the closeness between them that was becoming more than the friendship of young boys? Did he take Thee aside, did he leverage the debt Thee feels he has toward him, did he threaten to send him away from Tanthai? What did Thee have to promise to be able to stay by his side? (would he have promised anything to not have to live with the emptiness in his chest when he thinks of not being around Tanthai?) Always be professional, follow Thatthep's order, never, ever forget your place and think you can even pretend to be anything more than a loyal bodyguard to Tanthai. Come back to him ready to protect him with your life but never showing him any form of tenderness, of kindness that could be seen as inappropriate. And so Thee did as he was told and kept his distance.
(Is that why when Thee finally reaches for him, his hand a gesture of quiet worry, Tanthai breathes again?)
Tumblr media
Is that what Thee remembers, when he looks at the photo of them as children? All he has given up to be with Tanthai, in that shadow of a relationship, only to see him miserable, suffering, and hating himself. Is that what will finally make him decide that just being there isn't enough? That he has to give Tanthai more than mere presence if he wants them to make it through it?
Tumblr media
Well, I sure hope so. For both their sake at this point.

Ray 🤝 Tanthai
Poor little rich boys who like partying and getting drinking despite having alarmingly low tolerances so that they could become 'burdens' for their cute caregivers
Sand 🤝 Tee
Ends up caring too much for their drunk-off-their-cute-asses poor little rich boys despite trying not to give a shit and knowing they deserve it

Tumblr media
Tanthai, what kind of idiot are you to post this on instagram? Child, I love you, but this is just dumb. My poor tiny idiot child.
This is the only time his father has ever been right in his life. Not for the reasons he thinks, of course. But nonetheless. They would have been so much safer if they hadn't done that.
Tumblr media
Tanthai breaks my heart on so many levels and Thee loves him so much and his father doesn't give a single fuck about him.
Tumblr media
Oh, so the father is a monster.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am entirely lost to these two. I love them so much. The broken rich young master who is so hated by his own father that he has truly never been loved and the bodyguard who will willingly become a whipping boy if he has any hope of protecting him, of keeping him alive, of saving him to love him the way he deserves to be loved.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thee is absolutely the hero that Tanthai deserves and they absolutely break my entire heart into tiny pieces with their pain.

If Laws of Attraction doesn't want me to sympathize with Tanthai, they should stop making him say things that make me think he's suicidal. And stop having his bodyguard look at him Like That.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sad way he looked up at Methee when he came in to tend Tanthai's cut lip was a choice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way he called himself the worst and talked about feeling nothing at killing a child shows just how messed up he is. He just felt empty? A child is dead, and he doesn't feel anything?! And all Methee could do was warn him that yelling will only draw his father's wrath again. Even in his own room Tanthai has to control himself to avoid his father's anger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then he says maybe he should die. After all, he should never have been born, right? And how sad Methee looks to hear that. But not surprised. Because even if he hasn't said it before, I'm sure Methee has witnessed all of his self-destructive behavior.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Methee came into the room telling Tanthai to apply the ointment, not to let him apply the ointment for Tanthai. But to make him stop saying such terrible things, he can only grab Tanthai's face and start tending the wound. I don't even know what the look on Tanthai's face says, but it says a lot.
Tumblr media
Then he gets drunk and starts talking about dying again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Only for Methee to pop up at that particular moment to bring him home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he just carts him away when he refuses! He just picked Tanthai up and hauled him away. Tanthai had a whole beverage in his hand that probably poured over Methee, but Methee didn't care.
And they expect me to be normal about this? I'm over here making up scenarios about how Tanthai can be innocent, so he and Methee can get married and run away together. Ah, maybe dad was driving, and made Tanthai come take his place. How could they have managed that without anyone noticing? Heck if I know. But where was Methee? Why wouldn't he be with Tanthai to keep him from driving drunk? Why didn't the senator let Charn talk to Tanthai? Why did Tanthai say there was more to this than Charn knew? Seems dumb if the things he didn't know only make things worse for him. Where's Jinta or the Mystery Globe Fixer to give Tanthai a chance to make things right?

I have picked myself up off the floor enough after Laws of Attraction Episode 6 to just ... go through some things. For my own mental health.
Tumblr media
I would watch 600 hours of Charn being uncomfortable in the car with Tinn.
Tumblr media
The "long term couple" of Maya and Rose here. Save her from herself, Maya.
Tumblr media
This will not be the last time I'm impressed with Film's acting in this episode.
Tumblr media
Slow! Motion! Running!
Tumblr media
I am being manipulated into caring about Tanthai via Thee's melancholic gaze, but I consent.
Tumblr media
Charn! That's the face of a man who's about to live out his romantic trope dreams and knows it.
Tumblr media
I panicked for a minute, but dammit, this turned out cute. Tinn being super-corny and singing what sounded like a kind of old-fashioned folk song? I award points for trope subversion.
Tumblr media
Did not expect this response to the chief-turned-beggar. I should know better by now.
Tumblr media
I AM SO SAD ABOUT THIS. THIS WAS SAD, YOU ALL.
Tumblr media
Rose was there!! Ahhh.
Tumblr media
WOOoo boy.
Tumblr media
This scene was spectacular. The whole conversation, the way Charn wouldn't look at Tinn until Tinn tilted his face up like this... I'm done.
Tumblr media
Hand in the hair, we have hand in the hair.
Tumblr media
STOP IT.
Tumblr media
I am really going to regret caring about this, I just know it.

Okay so
This is all kinds of cute but also a little angsty in a way that scares me for next week with the promo vid. Because Tan is kind of joking/making an excuses in the second to last pic “No one will take care of me if you’re sick” but Thee’s face in the last shot—I think it’s foreshadowing Thee being beaten, then the two of them inevitably being separated and something happening to Tan?
Because the joke he’s making is one of those jokes that’s actually true. Thee and Tan know that it’s not like Tan would go hungry or not be given shelter and protection, but they also both know that he would be alone and ignored in that big house, save for the times his manipulative and abusive father is around. This is pretty much the main reason Thee is so cautious up until this episode—he could leave the senator’s employ anytime, but he’d be leaving Tanthai behind in a cage.
I also think it’s suggesting Tan’s destructive streak—he is such a clear mirror for Charn, two hurting and angry people—is going to get worse without Thee. Maybe not “burning down houses” worse (that’s Charn’s thing anyway) but a sort of self-destruction. The show did a good job of evolving our view of Tanthai from a bratty little shit who runs over kids to a bratty little shit haunted by years of trauma and neglect—we see from his early attitude that he’s grown up in wealth and corruption, but the show does well to subtly build up how years of conditioning can convince someone that they are trapped in their world and have no way to escape mentally but substance abuse and tantrums.
Here’s hoping our murder kitten Charn’s next impulsive idea is to facilitate this couple’s jailbreak.
