I know I’m not the only one, but one thing I can’t get past was how pretty much all the Chantries in Origins were shaped like dicks.
Feeling horny for the Maker are we, Revered Mother?

I love how absolutely attached every Dragon Age player is to their Warden from Origins. We never let them go or move past them, even after all this time. Ever.
Dealing with the First Warden in Veilguard and him being such a fucking unbearable asshole, the first words out of my mouth were "Oh my boy would not stand for this. Y'all are lucky he's away."
-_-
Come home, Warden. Thedas has not been doing well while you've been away.

Just ranting don’t mind me, like… WHAT. Having read ‘Last Flight’, also figuring out who’s behind the missing mythical grabies.
Called it from halfway across Thedas but seriously…
…are you fucking kidding me?
I get it’s a possibility, but this completely goes against HER fucking final wishes. Protect them from the stewards present following the events of the Exalted Age, because they were not fit to care for them. Hide them away in hopes that those in future are worth caring for them, and ONLY by one meant to discover the truth. It’s how the book ended. Suddenly the game is backpedaling with a twist so fucking obvious it’s anticlimactic.
I’m overthinking this but COME. ON.
On a scale of one to even, I literally can’t right now.

My confession with Veilguard. I like this game, I love Dragon Age, and I’ll remain loyal to it to the very end.
But.
There is a but.
Veilguard has felt like somewhat of a let down so far. It feels hollow, and lacks substance. That special something, if you will. The characters, the plot, the writing itself.
BEFORE you come at me, I’m trying to love this game, I really am trying. But I don’t. There’s so much left to be desired with this one.
I won’t stop playing Dragon Age and I’m determined to continue delving further into it, but it’s definitely not where it should be. All I can say is it’s just ‘Ok’.

Decking the First Warden right in the fucking jaw was worth all disapproval I got from Bellara and Emmrich.
Violence was absolutely the ONLY right solution.

Among the other little details found in the library, actually seeing the Joining Chalice from Ostagar in Weisshaupt…
They were here, she was here.
I will die on the little hill of wanting the Hero to come back, because I know damn well mine wouldn’t be sitting back watching the world end. She’d be glad to kill a second archdemon, and help end the blights for good.

Danavas looks like a broody fuck boy who’s just over everyone’s shit. I REALLY need to fix his appearance to reflect his true age, but it’s just too funny to change.
Can’t blame him for wanting to go back to having a peaceful life with his amatus. Here comes Rook and Solas fucking it all up.

I just realized that, if I like Vukasin as Rook and make him canon in my world state, that makes Maierwynn the only heroine, all the other dudes are… well, dudes.
And you know what?
I fuck with it. Hard. Harder than the orgy in the end scene of Sausage Party. Just Davian Hawke, Danavas Lavellan, and Veles Thorne, all equally badass having a ball but slightly fearful of the only woman amongst them.
Rook: “Why is she in a cage?”
Hawke: “Because she growled at me.”
Inquisitor: “You were the one who stole her food!”
Hawke: “I didn’t expect her to go feral!”
Rook: “Don’t you know you never steal a woman’s food?!”
Hawke: “I was starving! I thought she was done!”
Inquisitor: “She looked away for three seconds! Now you’ve gone and done it!”

Just some banter I felt like typing out between Maierwynn and Alistair.
M: Is there any reason you’ve been ogling me the last half hour?
A: Have— Have I?
M: Yes. Why?
A: N-Nothing, I’ve just been thinking.
M: And your thinking has led to stare so boldly?
A: Yes well, I just keep thinking back to our conversation last night and I can’t help but wonder how you could feel that way.
M: (scoffs) So what how I feel? Does it matter?
A: It does to me.
M: And that’s justification for you to keep looking at me? (awkward pause) There’s nothing here worth looking at.
A: That’s where you’re wrong, because I see something— someone worth looking at.
M: J-Just… just keep walking, you. And don’t stare at me like that!
A: (chuckles) Your desire is my command.
M: (nervous whisper) Dahn’direlan!

Maierwynn, bathed in light, saving the world and as many people she can.
Also Maierwynn:
“People are-are gonna get hurt, aren’t they?”
“NAHHHHH, I mean it’s, you know, it’s a possibility—”

Wistful moments in Inquisition where Morrigan asks Leliana, while at Skyhold, if she’s seen or heard from the Warden. Her first, and perhaps, only friend, one she considers a sister. They share the same heartfelt concern over the one person who held them together when the world was on the brink of ending. Morrigan: “I have a wonder if… perhaps maybe, have you heard from…?”
Leliana: (Sighs sadly) “No… I was hoping you might have… heard from her, or know where she’s gone.”
Morrigan: “I see… I had hoped…”
Leliana: “Perhaps Alistair… ?”
Morrigan: “He is just as uncertain as both you and I.”
Leliana: “Oh… wherever she might be— I pray she knows we’re all waiting for her.”
Morrigan: “She is resilient… she will return to us. She must…”
(Awkward pause)
Leliana: “Are you… ?”
Morrigan: “‘‘Tis foolish of me to… (whispering forlornly) I miss her so…”
Leliana: “We all do, Morrigan.”

In the epilogue of Awakening, if you had forged Vigilance, the Crows decide to steal it from the Warden. This gets passed around as it becomes a highly coveted weapon. I have a headcanon where it only remains in the possession of so many for so little time because each hand is not the rightful hands of its owner… the Warden’s. So it grows in power over the years as it restlessly seeks them out, falling from one unworthy owner to another as a result of petty thievery… or bloodshed begotten by another’s lust to have such a powerful item. I can see Zevran happen to pry this very sword from the cold, dead hands of a Crow by chance. And he, knowing this legend and who it rightfully belongs to, seeks out the Warden to return Vigilance to their grasp.
HoF: “Ah! I was wondering where this had gotten off to…”
Zevran: “Haha! And you will not believe where I found it!”
HoF: “Just try me, my dear friend.”

I have a wonder if Shale will make an appearance in Veilguard. Considering her ultimate goal was to make for the Tevinter Imperium in search for a way to reverse her being a golem, it would be such a wonderful encounter. I could imagine her parting words to Rook and their companions something along the lines of:
“Now if it— you will excuse me, I believe I am long overdue to reunite with an old friend of mine...”
(trudges away, butt punting several unfortunate pigeons)

Day 5: Favorite Origins Quest
Man, oh, man.
Each quest is thoroughly enjoyable to me. For this day, I will choose the Anvil of the Void. While I play as a Dalish elf, I have a lot of love and appreciation for the Dwarves and the limited lore we have of them. Venturing into the Deep Roads really sheds some light on just how extensive the Dwarven kingdoms once were. Much of their history is lost, and waiting be found. What we do uncover barely even scratches the surface on our fearsome, rugged friends. It’s made especially interesting when you bring Shale and Oghren along, because they both have significant, if not pivotal, roles/dialogue in this quest. Both with finding Branka, and the history behind the Anvil. It does put emphasis, as well, on how fucking serious the Blight really is, and the importance of the Dwarves steadfastness in keeping the darkspawn at bay between them. Both entwine almost intimately with the Grey Wardens pursuit to put an end to this dire threat. This quest is where the dark fantasy elements really shine and is a big part of what made me fall in love with Dragon Age. The brutality of the darkspawn, the pure evil in their intent to destroy and corrupt everything. Even more disturbing is how they come to be, encountering the Broodmother, and how they are created, will never not make my skin crawl.
