Welcome to my newest AU: Lost but everyone who ever stepped foot on the island has some type of usable magic power from that moment on. Rules for this is every power has a drawback and it only activates at a critical moment to their character arc. Here's what powers I assigned them:
Jack Shephard: Can heal people using his own life force. He can only give up to 50% of his own life force to do this, if the injury can't be healed by that, he can't save a person. Jack's power doesn't activate until way into Season 6 because he didn't have faith in the island.
Kate Austen: Has the same power as Blake Belladonna in RWBY. Both are characters who are established as people on the run because of their past. Their powers reflect that. Whenever Kate is attacked, if she reacts fast enough, she can leave behind a shadow of herself to take the hit for her.
James "Sawyer" Ford: The angrier he gets, the more damage his punches do. On the other hand, if he gets genuinely sad and devastated, his physical abilities are significantly stunted and damage is almost non-existent.
Charlie Pace: Can focus on a person and play or sing a song that reflects their true nature. This can be used to gather information about them. He can only do this once per person.
Claire Littleton: She can sense danger, even when there otherwise isn't any indication of it.
Hugo "Hurley" Reyes: Can speak to the dead. Activates off-island.
Sun-Hwa Kwon: Can accelerate the growth of plants and the natural healing process of animals and people. She has to know and understand the species to do this.
Jin-Soo Kwon: Can communicate with the ocean to go with the "son of a fisherman" theme. If his head is underwater the ocean tries to kill him tho.
John Locke: Is the only one who doesn't have a power. He's like Mirabel Madrigal. He's deeply important to the story but he has 0 magic. He himself and other characters throughout the story think that he does during varying points of time but it's always the MiB messing with him. He realizes this at the end. Can you tell I like angst yet?
Michael Dawson: Can create a magic shield using his own stamina. Shield disappears when his stamina runs out.
Walter "Walt" Lloyd: Astral Projection. Self-explanatory.
Vincent: Ages normally and can die of old age but is otherwise virtually indestructible. Usually animals don't get any powers but Vincent's was given to him by Jacob directly to assist the survivors.
Sayid Jarrah: Can burn a person with his touch when he wants to. Doing this inflicts an equal amount of emotional pain to him as the physical pain he causes. I like angst.
Shannon Rutherford: Can master any skill within 30 minutes if she puts her mind to it. Never figures this out because she has been told that she's useless all her life and believes it. Only uses this once when she translates French but thinks those are lucky guesses.
Boone Carlyle: Blood-bending. Mostly gave this to him because everytime he angrily stares at someone you can tell that his blood is boiling. Never uses this once during his lifetime though.
Rose Henderson Nadler & Bernard Nadler: Have a soul link with one another. They can always tell how the other is feeling and neither of them can die while the other still lives as long as they're on good terms. Virtually indestructible unless you kill them at the exact same time but why the fuck would you.
Ana Lucia Cortez: Pyromancy. Fits her vibe. Also bound to stamina.
Elizabeth "Libby" Smith: Can read people's emotions.
Mr. Eko: Precognition. Can tell what he needs to do when and can anticipate things a couple seconds before they happen.
Benjamin Linus: Everytime he lies (to convince someone of his lie, sarcasm not included), it slightly alters reality in an unexpected way to make his lie appear like the truth. This is how Anthony Cooper gets to the island after Ben tells John about the magic box. The result of his lies is always unexpected and can backfire. He can't make something specific happen intentionally. His power activated during the purge.
Juliet Burke: Ice-bending. This has nothing to do with her character but I've previously seen Elizabeth Mitchell in Once Upon A Time and The Santa Clause and both times she plays a character that has something to do with winter. Also bound to stamina.
Ethan Rom: Superhuman strength. Self-explanatory. It actually takes multiple shots from 6 guns to take him down in this AU.
Harper Stanhope: Can see people's time of death over their head. Was very confused that Juliet's said 1977 and Ben's was way past his normal life expectancy.
Goodwin Stanhope: Idk what his power is but it's certainly not danger sense. 💀
Roger Linus: Can sense fear. Terrible power for a terrible man. I love Ben, I promise. I also love angst tho. The moment Ben killed him was the only time he didn't sense any fear from him, which scared the shit out of him.
Desmond David Hume: Activates his power after the events of "The Constant". Can see glimpses of people's past and future upon touching them. Can only do this once per person.
Frank Lapidus: Always lands safe. Literally always lands on his feet like a cat. Also applies to planes / helicopters he flies.
Charlotte Staples Lewis: Can speak any language after hearing it spoken once. Growing up with this was very confusing off-island.
Miles Straume: Reading the final thoughts of the dead. Self-explanatory.
Daniel Faraday: Stopping time for up to an hour. After using this power, he can't use it for 24 times the amount of time he stopped time for. Only can use it in present time.
Illana Verdansky: Able to tell when people lie.
Danielle Rousseau: Her bullet or arrow always hits the target unless the target specifically blocks it.
Alexandra Rousseau: Can make herself invisible. Used for stealth.
Karl Martin: Can accelerate his speed. Bound to stamina.
Mikhail Bakunin: Telepathy.
Eloise Hawking: Chain Reaction. Once a day for 5 minutes she can see the effects of every action of hers she thinks about.
Charles Widmore: Can take a glimpse at people's destiny. Only can do this once per person.
Richard Alpert: Can't be killed by anything ever. Can't even die of natural causes. Can't die.

I love that Jack was totally cool with Sayid shooting Ben. Like he did not care and honestly like just doubled down on his trust in Sayid after tbh.
Im Jack and Im Sayid and were the shoot a teenager and nuke everyone brothers.
Live Kate reaction:
Tumblr media
Kates like 'Damn Sayid I thought we had something special now youre stealing one of the men I bounce between? Whats that about?'
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
'If I dont see you on the other side... I wont blame you.'
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
'I didnt think you would come...' 'If this works you save us all and if it doesnt at least you'll put us out of our misery'
Diabolical work fellas.
And after this Jack is so pro-Sayid its actually crazy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sayid getting shot and Dr 'no! violence is bad' starts blindly shooting at people. Hes like this 👌 close to killing everyone on the island and then himself after Sayid gets shot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'Sayid... this will work and It'll save you.' 'Nothing can save me...'
DIABOLICAL WORK FELLAS.
And damn I just love that even in the flashsideways Sayid still finds his way to Jacks side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack getting into fights with everyone at the temple because theyre being mean to Sayid is great. He was throwing hands at everyone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"...Why are you telling me this..." "It's going to be you, Jack."
Sayids last words before he grabs the bomb being that is crazy.
Im just sayin... if LOST came out today Jack/Sayid woulda been a top contender. Going back and just examining them is good times. What a ship.
I was gonna say 'Jack shoulda kissed him at least once..' but he kinda did.

Lost S2 Rewatch - Final thoughts
Following this post, here are some more random thoughts about S2:
They did it once, they've done it again: killing off a female character for the sake of the paired male character's manpain. They did it with Shannon and they've done it again with Libby. Twice in a season. At this point I think it's a pattern and I totally hate it. The writers could write extremely well, they could've written something better but they just didn't do it. Totally uncool.
Speaking of Libby, I wish they didn't kill her off before telling us her story. Up until her death her character's main purpose is being the possible love interest of Hurley. Which, yeah, okay cool, I'm down with it. But maybe show us more as well? It's a shame that we come to know about her connection with Desmond literally after her death. And yes, I know, "plot reasons" and it kinda made sense too. And yet I felt a bit disappointed. We saw 0, nada, nothing, of her arc. Again, totally uncool.
"What Kate Did" is the season's best episode and I fucking love it.
I still have mixed feelings about Kate and Jack. What I mean is that they're definetely connected and they somehow click and not click together. I love thier dynamic. However in S2, although we have a kiss and a "caught in the net" moment (lol, Sawyer I luv u), they didn't share much screen-time together. Yes, yes, I know, this is a common way to write romance (a kiss, an "I'm sorry. I'm not", a bit of lack of communication, circumstances bring them apart and yadda yadda) but to "buy" their love story I needed a scene of the two of them together, without any interruptions, in between the kiss and the net. There wasn't so I don't know how I feel about them: do they like-like each other or are they just projecting *stuff* onto one another?
On the other hand, my baby girl Jack and Sawyer shared A LOT of intense scenes together. Like the one where Sawyer tells Jack that he's his friend (well, close to one) <3. Or when they play cards. Kate literally left them alone, lol. It was INSANE. I'm sorry but this confirms my reading that the real meaty love story is between the two of them. If the show aired totay we'd all be talking about the homoerotic subtext in Jack/Sawyer scenes. I said what I said.
Jack, please my love, listen to Sayid. His character faded a bit in the background this season, I mean something had to give with the introduction of FIVE new characters. But he was quite right about everything and I wanted to scream at Jacko everytime he was like "uh but Sayid we don't know!". Listen to the soldier/torturer/communication officer, doctor! You do you, let Sayid do Sayid, lol.
As I've said, I didn't enjoy Ana Lucia's connection to Christian. However, I like her story. Unfortunately her arc meets a brutal end: she was on her way to come to terms with her actions and she was stopped too soon. Honestly? I don't agree with this choice: the writers took their sweet time to let us discover Ana and her complexities, I'm sad her story ended beforehand. :(
I'm quite torn about Mr Eko. On one hand, interesting, brilliant character, on the other I feel like the last episodes made him act a bit OOC. We're showed a Mr Eko who's both ruthless and compassionate: he's a paradox and it's stimulating, we wanna know more about him. But then he goes all "I've received Revelation in my dream" and acts a lot like a dick. Like when he doesn't go to Ana Lucia and Libby's funeral. Dude, come on. Intellectually I know that it was all there, the moment he met Locke signed the fact that they'd first be united in their shared belief about the island and then they'd have split over their faith or lack thereof. Still, like with Ana, I think it was done too fast, I personally think they wasted quite some time with the Ben storyline. Too bad.
This rewatch reminded me of how tragic and absurd Locke's life is. Has he ever had ONE happy day in his life? Also, I always find myself a bit irritated that they didn't cast an older actor to play his father. I'm sorry I don't know the actors' age but Terry O'Quinn definitely looks older than the guy who plays Anthony Cooper.
Okay, I have more to say but I'll stop here! On to s3!

sayid as a character is so frustrating... even before his arc falls apart in season 6. he's got excellent potential, and in the early seasons, he fulfilled it! but the writers never knew what to do with him beyond nadia, shannon, and his guilt/fight to be a good man.
which, admittedly, is compelling! there's a reason sayid is my favorite character in lost!!! but it's frustrating to see the writers play into these storylines again and again, depriving him of depth by falling into the same traps over and over.
i get it. the writers wrote themselves into a corner—sayid is a little too perfect in a lot of ways. he's logical, level-headed, and consistently competent. so instead of giving him another flaw to dig into, the writers just used the same one. over and over and over. i'm sure his season 6 conversion to the dark side was at least somewhat born out of a desire to switch up his character so he didn't get repetitive. and even then, they used nadia again. i'm mad about it! but i get it.
all that to say, i wish we'd seen sayid grappling with something else.
like: imagine if sayid came to terms with his crimes in season 4 or 5. after that, we get to witness what it's like to forgive yourself among people who don't—many still consider him a killer, but he's learned to live with it. he's self-assured.
...and then sayid realizes he still has more to work on! just because he's forgiven himself for the torture doesn't mean he's perfect. in fact, living a fulfilling life on the island is still insanely difficult, and his fight to find happiness is brutal. let him make bad calls! let him struggle to discover his actual passions—repurposing his skill with a knife to cooking. let him he reconnect with his faith.
on that note, sayid's relationship with faith could have provided a middle ground between locke and jack. islam could contrast the very christian imagery of season six. that being said, i do not trust the lost writers to actually respect sayid's religion given, well, that very christian imagery of season six. i mean, come on. they lifted him up out of the water in a jesus pose.
or heck, go in a different direction! spread the parenting love! we see him interact with nadia's kids in the flash-sideways. rousseau clearly trusts him, and he has a narrative bond with ben. have him interact with alex!
sayid is a casualty of the ensemble cast. you can't give everyone the narrative love they deserve. but also... come on man. give the person of color something to do besides Meaningful Glances™ and torture sessions. your 2000s is showing.

post season 2 lost character ranking let's goooo
jack clearly. nothing to say he's my favorite he's never getting knocked off the top spot. there is nothing he could do to make me love him less <3
sayid my close friend sayid! i love how he’s always right even when everyone is like woah category five sayid moment 🙄 literally believe him… he didn’t believe that man so he went out in the pouring rain to look for a hot air balloon and then dug up a grave to prove himself right all with the woman who shot his girlfriend like two weeks ago but he doesn’t blame her because he’s a) a feminist and b) knows who the Real Enemy is… that shit was crazy. they dug up a grave. in the pouring rain. and he was right.
ana lucia for the final time.... she was giving me everything in two for the road... ana lucia i would have kept you alive forever baby... when her and sayid went looking for that damn balloon that was like. one of the craziest things to happen all season. they could have become such a crazy good duo if she hadn’t been murdered. rest in peace forever babygirl i love youuuuuu 🩷
eko… literally when locke was obsessed with the button is was SO annoying but when eko was doing it i was like well let’s hear him out! and he WAS right. maybe the dynamite was a little extreme but well apparently that button needs to be pressed it would seem…
hurley <3 my buddy hurley! he’s just my buddy hurley!! and his girlfriend just died and hardly anyone gives a fuck…. he and sayid need to form a club.
kate.... girl you're flopping so crazy please come back to us... this is the highest i can put her right now it’s crazy how far she’s fallen. we need to stop the sawyer romance shit before i kill myself seriously.
claire! she’s claire!
charlie. getting a huge bump this time yay for charlie's redemption <3 things were very bleak there for a bit but i have faith he's coming back in a big way this season. um. for reasons i'm not supposed to know about but do
libby's also here for her final time rest in peace girl… my girl who did not ever get to do very much… but we loved her anyway rip to the libby backstory episode that never got to happen… love how she gave desmond a boat just because in the finale flashbacks she’s just so lovely and nice…
sun. imagine how this pregnancy storyline is about to go. i can’t even think about it. they’re gonna kill that thing aren’t they. like knock on wood hope that doesn’t happen to my friend sun it’s just. wow things are looking bleak. you know
desmond that freak! he crashed their plane! what the hell!!!!
alex is getting included this time because i am so interested by her... what's her deal.... cannot wait to find out!
locke kind of slaying lately. kinda dig his crisis of faith. i hope he starts getting haunted by the ghost of that gay man he let die. and i hope it's weird and fucked up
rose and bernard ranking low because well they do not do very much but rest assured i love them so dearly... they're always giving true love realness they're just lovely idk. we literally rank them as a pair it's beautiful...
danielle rousseau <3 literally her freak werido hermit hag realness. you wouldn't understand
jin. still giving your girl friend's shitty husband you wish she would leave but like he's better now i guess. but still.
ben. also known as henry. or that random new guy who’s name we don’t know. first of all how dare he be named ben that's a beloved book character to me. and also my cousin but that's not important if i liked every character with the same name as one of my damn cousins i'd hardly be allowed to hate anybody these bitches are irish catholic get serious. secondly i do think he's kind of a cunty antagonist... love how he's like the main guy of the others and sent himself in undercover to freak all these guys out. but well we also hate him obviously
sawyer in his classic spot at or near the bottom! classic! can always count on sawyer to be the worst huh...
michael. kill yourselfffffff oh my god. imagine getting ranked below SAWYER. that shit was DIABOLICAL work i’m never forgiving him i hope he suffers horribly

THE PLAN
gets regularly updated
more under the cut (Warning: batshit insane rambling. this is in no way organised.)
Okay lets do this shit
*cue The Eyeland*
PART 1 - The Bare, Bare Bones
23/6/2024
Okay so I have a very general idea of what kind of stuff I’m going for so far.
The entrance is going to be the bamboo forest that we see Jack waking up in during the Pilot episode. Ofc imma put the tennis shoes there too 🗣️‼️‼️
The path’ll kinda curve to either the left or right side of the beach (maybe both?) and then BAM. BEACH.
I honestly don’t know what I’m gonna use for the fuselage. I might find something later tho lol
And there’ll be like, tent items and allat there’ll be an actual tent that has a bunch of medical supplies and magazines and stuff in it when you go inside of it. Cause guess what?? THAT TENT IS GONNA BE SAWYER’SSSS RAHH and another actual tent thats SAYID’S TENT THING THAT HE SET UP FOR SHANNON cause he was SO like… he was so… omg theres no word to describe how MMMPH that was it was just so AUGH
And just before the fuselage the bamboo will shift into normal trees and there’ll be a couple nooks and crannies you can sift upwards through to get to the pascal flats that lead to… THE BARRACKS!! I’ll add the pylons too ofc (which will not be very good for my character since he’s supposed to be Mikhail 😭)
and oh boy. oh boy oh boy the BARRACKS are where its at omg. This is where all the villager houses are going to be!! And do not even get me started on the AMOUNT OF ITEMS THAT PERFECTLY FIT THE BARRACKS. IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE. ITS SO CRAZYYYYYAHHHHHH
there’ll be 2 exits to The Barracks: One thats like a dedicated path to the Submarine Dock (which leads to the actual dock in game!) and a hedge thing off to the left of the barracks with a semi hidden gap in it, similar to the bushes that Sayid, Locke, Danielle and Kate peeked through whilst trying to “rescue” Jack from the others. This will lead to the Pneumatic tube dump, and reenter the Pascal flats.
24/6/2024
Okay last night I went feral and kind of made a scrappy plan in the whatsapp draw thing whilst trying to explain what I mean to one of my friends
Tumblr media
I’ll put this into the Happy Island Designer sometime later 💀
30/6/2024
sorry guys i blacked out and woke up with 35 nook miles tickets. I am going villager hunting
LIST SO FAR
- Klaus (Polar bear vibes. Would go for Tutu but I feel like she’s too happy to be on The Island 😭😭)
- Boris (He’s a boar. what more can I say)
- Roscoe (As Kate’s horse. Also cause Roscoe is one of my all time faves lol)
- Goldie (Vincent!!!)
- Punchy (Nadia, cat version. He’s the closest I can get to her tbh 😭 I would have chosen Lolly but her expression is too cute to fit Nadia)
- Ruby (As Chester! At least I think that’s what Ben’s rabbit is called? not too sure.)
- Peck (He kinda looks like a Eurasian tree sparrow and since those are like literally everywhere it could technically be an island animal. idk I got him in the 3 plots part of the storyline and I just want to keep him 😭)

'...53. Six Feet Under
HBO 2001-05
The difficulty in looking at the legacy of “Six Feet Under”? Five seasons of exceptional television are inevitably overshadowed by 10 minutes of perfect television. Creator Alan Ball’s series follows the lives of the funeral home-operating Fisher family and those in their orbit, while exploring both the profound and the mundane in death. The final moments of “Six Feet Under,” a succession of emotional jolts underscored by a soulful Sia ballad, felt in the moment surprisingly daring. But, looking at a series that for its entire run had been keenly observed but startlingly openhearted, one might say that the show died the way it lived.
50. My So-Called Life
ABC 1994-95
It’s rare for art made by adults to perfectly nail the angst, anguish and hope of being a teen. While series like “Beverly Hills, 90210” were giving high schoolers a glossy, sexy view of adolescent life, Winnie Holzman’s “My So-Called Life,” which starred Claire Danes as 15-year-old Angela Chase in lovelorn pursuit of her crush, Jordan Catalano (Jared Leto), offered something more grounded and tangible. The show’s sole season is distinctly of its time, but “My So-Called Life” has something for teens (and former teens) today too. It’s a series about thrilling and heart-wrenching experiences — first love, coming to understand your parents and trying to understand your own frenzied emotions.
32. Lost
ABC 2004-10
What’s in the hatch? Who are the Others? Where did that polar bear come from? Yes, “Lost” hooked tens of millions with tantalizing mystery box questions like these. And yes, many of the answers showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse ultimately provide don’t quite live up to that fervor. But what made the show was its vibrantly rendered characters, dozens upon dozens of them — Hurley (Jorge Garcia) and Sayid (Naveen Andrews), Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Sawyer (Josh Holloway), Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), Locke (Terry O’Quinn) and Ben (Michael Emerson) — all striving to make sense of their upside-down circumstances within an expansive, rip-roaring, fabulously weird adventure. It was a flawed show, sometimes deeply so, but between its characters and, yes, those damned questions, “Lost” engaged its audience like no other, precipitating the online ecosystem of fevered fan theorizing that dominates how so many of us experience our favorite shows today.
21. Game of Thrones
HBO 2011-19
There was no bigger television show in the 2010s than HBO’s adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy novels. Created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the fantasy epic pulled viewers into the cutthroat world of Westeros, a land rife with myths, legends, warring families and magical dragons. It was an enormous undertaking and a feat: Despite its relatively humdrum ending, “Game of Thrones” redefined television with its depictions of violence, sex and gore, and with its frank assessment of what it takes to rule. The series examined the universal lust for power, and within its spectacle drew complex portraits of the people who would tear the world apart for their chance to sit atop the coveted Iron Throne...'

If you got to go back and be a writer on Lost, what ideas would you have pitched? What ideas would you have opposed?
OH BOY WOULD I EVER PITCH IDEAS (this is a not inclusive list)
I would've pitched a better plot for Charlotte, Dan, and Miles and I would've raised fucking HELL about it. I think I would've gone for Eloise still being Dan's mom but I would've pushed for Desmond's variable-ness being more of a plot point and season six would've included him hopping through a lot of the past seasons of Lost to ensure that things ended differently than they would have in season five, where I'd have pitched that the island was destroyed and whatever evil was on it escaped. I would've set up Jacob in season four so that the ending of season five was the Man in Black escaping and then Eloise uses Desmond to try and save the world. I think the crux of that plan would have to lie in Dan having a more developed relationship with Desmond, and as a result Charlotte and Miles get more developed.
I would've pitched Sawyer dying, to be perfectly blunt. I would've been shot down, but I would've said he needed to die in five to really amp up the stakes and also because his story was over by that point.
I would've opposed Kate's lack of an arc, and advocated for the love triangle ending sooner. I would've also pushed for Sayid getting a better story and not killing Sun and Jin. I'd probably pushed for Shannon living longer (possibly being a season three or four casualty) but I'd have supported Libby and Ana Lucia going. I think I would've pushed for a different Locke and Ben storyline, and I absolutely would've fought against the Michael storyline and pushed for him to have a better plot. I think I would've opposed Nikki and Paulo being introduced at all. I think Charlie would've stayed dead, but I would have Desmond's vision of Claire and Aaron on the helicopter come true in a more real way.
But this is just off the top of my head and like... I know there's more I would've pushed for and more I would've advocated against.

me? finishing my s3 character recap only a day after completing the season? crazy. anyway, more of my thoughts!!! i don’t think i have anything very controversial in here, but this is almost 3k words of opinions so … enjoy!
jack – starting off strong with mr jack shephard. surprisingly, i don’t think i hated jack this season. sure, he pissed me off every now and again, but as i’ve said before, that’s just standard with this character. i’ve begun to expect and accept that. otherwise, he was pretty okay? i don’t like the first seven episodes of this season at all, i just absolutely hate the surgery plot. and let’s not forget ‘stranger in a strange land,’ which might just be the worst episode of this entire show. i don’t like ‘fire + water’ any more than the next guy, but it was significantly better than whatever the fuck we got in episode 9. just terrible. anyway, i understood why jack wouldn’t do surgery on ben, and i thought his line, “i just wanted you to understand how you’re gonna die,” was kind of fire. made me laugh, that’s for sure. never thought i’d see the day! later on, i enjoyed his relationship with juliet and i didn’t hate him as much when he told the camp that he hadn’t told them anything because he hadn’t decided what to do about it yet. used to that made me soooo mad, but this time around i was kinda like … i mean, yeah, you guys are the ones that wanted him to be leader. if that’s the decision he made, i think it’s fine. overall, jack wasn’t intensely annoying and i didn’t really mind him that much.
ben – ohhhhh ben. how could i ever not love you? we don’t get a lot from him during the surgery plot, or even after, but i think we start to really see who he is when locke blows up the submarine - all because ben manipulated him into doing it, which is just amazing to me. we especially see more of him in ‘the brig,’ how he so easily manipulates situations in his favor, and of course his centric episode which just … kills me. roger was a piece of shit and i stand by that!! of course, i don’t think the entire dharma initiative deserved to die, but it’s interesting to see someone who was in dharma eventually become the leader of the others. dharma’s very enemies! i also think it’s soooo ben to try and play up the whole jacob situation. the cabin scene did confuse me a lot - it could either be that ben was pretending to see someone, but that when shit started flying around and the fire started he just kind of rolled with the punches; OR ben was seeing someone there, and if so, it would’ve had to have been the man in black. which would make sense, if he was manipulating ben into being jealous of locke. as we know this works. however, ben seems to genuinely believe that jacob spoke to locke, and you can see in his face that he isn’t happy about it - enough to where i think he’s never spoken to or seen jacob at all. either way, i do believe the man in black was the one to say “help me,” and i lean more toward the idea that ben didn’t see anyone and was putting on a little show. but i love when ben is like, “well i certainly hope jacob helps you,” after he fucking shoots locke. hilarious. the one thing i hate is ben’s weird infatuation with juliet, but i’ll probably talk about that more in s4 when we get the dreaded flashback. also i think you can really see ben’s desperation at the end of this season, like for once he’s telling the truth - these people that are coming to the island are bad!! they’re gonna kill people!!! but no one listens. which, i can’t really blame them, ben is a known liar and manipulator, but i think it’s interesting how genuine ben’s motives are. he just wants to protect the island. seeing him get beat up again was also kind of funny not gonna lie. the writers really just want you to hate ben so bad ( like pretending he got sayid, jin, and bernard killed ) alongside other shit, but he’s just sooo likeable i don’t care about his crimes. and he really didn’t do anything that insane. anyway, ben was my man, and i cannot wait to see him be his best self in s4.
desmond – i adore desmond. i forgot how much i love him in this season, he’s seriously great in every scene he’s in. his plot with charlie is definitely s3’s most redeeming quality, and i find it insanely funny that the B Plot is more interesting than whatever the hell is going on with the others / jack, kate, and sawyer. ‘flashes before your eyes’ was nominated for an award and i think that’s telling to how fucking amazing that episode is. i got full body chills when eloise tells desmond that things have to play out as they were meant to, and especially when desmond tells charlie that he’ll have to die. it’s just amazing. he’s such a great guy and i think every single one of his centric episodes rock, he’s just an amazingly written character and the show wouldn’t be nearly the same without him.
charlie – charlie becomes one of my favorite characters in this season. he kinda drops down in s2 for obvious reasons, but he’s just SO great in s3. his plot is by far the most interesting and devastating. him coming to terms with the fact that he’s going to die, desmond saving him multiple times, ‘greatest hits’ … oh man that episode fucking destroyed me. i hadn’t seen it in a few years so i really got hit hard with his flashbacks and his interactions with everyone else - literally right before he’s knowingly going to his death. when he’s got tears in his eyes before he goes down to the looking glass??? i nearly died. it’s so fucking sad. and we also talked a bit about how so many of his other deaths have to do with water … foreshadowing or coincidence? no idea but i love it either way. obvs ‘not penny’s boat’ is iconic and for good reason too. his death just hurts. i love charlie and i’m sad to see him go, but his death does kick off major things for s4 so it is important, no matter how tragic it is.
hurley – i loved hurley this season. his interactions with the other survivors, especially sawyer, are just great - and him being the one to get all of this important information ( naomi telling him that flight 815 was found, finding out ethan wasn’t on the plane ) definitely hints at his future in the show. ‘tricia tanaka is dead’ is one of my favorite episodes in the entire series and hurley is just great in it. the fucking asteroid makes me die laughing every time. i really love him trying to fix up the van and that whole scene is just great. overall, i adore hurley in s3 and, as usual, i look forward to seeing more of him in the next one.
sawyer – he might just be at his funniest this season. i enjoyed his relationship with kate, a lot, and i just really love him in s3! ignoring the whole surgery plot, once sawyer makes it back to camp and has to act as a stand-in leader of sorts, being tricked by hurley into doing nice things - i just love when he does shit like that. and helping with the van, trying to solve the whole nikki and paulo fiasco … he’s just great. i have nothing bad to say about him ( ever ) and i think he can just be really sweet and does cute things and I LOVE HIM!!
nikki & paulo – oh, i bet you didn’t expect to see these two up here, did you? let’s be real, they were never going to go into honorable mentions because i have too much to talk about with them and ‘exposé.’ anyway, as surprising as it sounds, i really liked paulo. i genuinely felt bad for him - i mean, obviously not killing someone and stealing the guy’s diamonds - but, you know, for the way nikki treated him. more than anything, paulo wanted the diamonds to be gone so that he and nikki could just … be a normal couple, without that hanging over their heads forever. and to have nikki do what she did to him?! it’s sooo fucked up and it just made me feel awful for him. as for nikki, i did not like her, but i did love the scene at the beginning of the episode where she’s playing as a stripper. “razzle dazzle!” what a stupid yet iconic quote. that episode is just so fucking dumb and funny, i can’t not love it. another one of my favorites in the series. anyway, i think nikki got a good taste of karma for what she did to paulo, but their deaths were just absolutely horrific once you find out they’re paralyzed and are being buried alive!!! i swear i think about that shit all the time and it makes me shiver. anyway, love these random ass side characters and i think it’s funny they got killed off so quickly ( especially considering this was only done because fans hated them so much ). rip nikki and paulo you guys didn’t deserve that but you had a great flashback episode.
kate – kate was … meh? she didn’t annoy me, but nothing she did really stood out to me. i only enjoyed her scenes with sawyer, pretty much, as i think their relationship is really fun ( and better than whatever the fuck kate and jack have going on ). genuinely kinda hurt me tho that she blamed herself for jack not being able to get off the island. like girlie that was all ben and locke! not you!! the gays will be gay let them do their thing. anyway i can’t think of anything else interesting with her, sooo that’s about it.
locke – this is the start of the best relationship in the series, which would beeee you guessed it! locke and ben. at least to me. nothing lives up to these two and some of the shit they say to each other??? fucking insane. it’s so gay i can’t even fathom it, especially on ben’s side. i really love the ways they both affect each other, ben’s consuming jealousy of locke because of his relationship with the island, locke’s anger at ben because more than anything he wants to trust him - it just fucks me up. and, obviously, i love their slow burn friendship in s4 but i’ll talk about that more when we get there. anyway, i think locke did some crazy shit this season but i really liked him at the end, when walt tells him he has work to do and he kills naomi - putting him and ben on the same side of this situation. it’s interesting how devoted locke is to the island, but obviously he still has his morals and no matter how much he wants to, he can’t shoot jack. and i think that’s kind of the difference between him and ben - locke embraces his humanity despite the island’s commands, while ben completely foregoes his. for the rest of this season i didn’t hate locke but i didn’t necessarily love him either. he faded into the background a little bit for me, but i do love the episode where we see him get thrown out of the building. fucking crazy. he really just blew up a lot of shit this season and i’m here for it. makes me think of that meme from s6 of ben, richard, and miles and their moniger “team blow shit up.” i love it. embracing locke’s absolute insanity in the wake of MiB … anywho, yeah, locke on his own didn’t hit so much but alongside ben he really captures my attention. love when he tells ben that he’s the man behind the curtain, the wizard of oz. it’s so good!! locke’s delivery is always great and i think he’s just a phenomenal character ( and terry o’quinn kills it with the acting ). enough said from me.
sayid – i’m gonna be so honest, i didn’t give much of a shit about sayid this season. the only episode that hits for me is ‘enter 77,’ when sayid, kate, and locke first encounter mikhail and we get that flashback of sayid and the woman he tortured, as well as her cat. the whole story she tells about the cat as well as herself … it definitely made me a little emotional. otherwise, i didn’t care much for sayid but i didn’t have many qualms like i did with him in s2. he’s kind of just there.
claire – i wish i had more to say on claire but i really don’t. she literally did nothing for me this season, i didn’t care about her that much, but i did like her flashback episode and her thing with the birds ( not that it’s going to help anything ). aside from that, i have nothing else to talk about! moving on…
juliet – i do really enjoy juliet’s presence in this show, she’s one of my favorite characters and i love the way she’s written. her short-lived thing with jack is not really my thing, but we can move past that. oh and her flashbacks also don’t hit for me, ever, but that’s not really her fault. anyway, her hatred of ben is interesting ( which is for valid reasons, obviously ) and i think it’s cool to see an other who slowly merges with the survivors because it’s the first time that she can really get away. i think she’s definitely the beginning of these two groups coming together, which will be needed in s4 considering who’s coming to the island. juliet genuinely cares for people but carries out ben’s orders nonetheless - until she really has the option not to. and the little bits we get of her and sawyer are fun, i’m excited to see how they develop more in s5. overall she’s a great character aaaand i look forward to seeing her on screen again.
sun & jin – jin was fun this season, i liked his little friendship with hurley/charlie/sawyer with the van, and then later with hurley/charlie/desmond when they go camping. love the little scary story he tells, i just really enjoyed him. sun was alright, didn’t stand out to me too much, but i do really like the episode where she goes to the staff to get an ultrasound. she and juliet are interesting there, and i loved sun’s reaction to the baby being jin’s … it was just so human and kind of ripped my heart out, like she’s crying in joy but also she knows she’s going to die, but that’s okay because at least she didn’t betray jin in this terrible way. anyway, i can’t think of much more to do with these two, but i love their relationship as usual!
eko – we don’t get to see eko much in this season, but his centric episode is fucking great and i looooove his deal with the smoke monster. my thought has always been that eko was a candidate and the monster was testing him, looking through his memories to see what could be exploited - and most likely see how impressive of a candidate he would be, considering eko didn’t even flinch when he first saw the monster. then in s3 we get MiB leading him away, posing as his brother, and my assumption is that because eko doesn’t feel guilt for the things he’s done, because he doesn’t need the island or anyone else on it, he is no longer a candidate. so the smoke monster fucks him up because of it. this would also make sense because eko doesn’t move on with everyone else at the church, he moves on right then and there with yemi. i do adore eko’s quote, “i did not ask for the life that i was given, but it was given nonetheless. and with it, i did my best.” that fucking kills me. puts tears in my eyes just thinking about it. i was really sad to see him go but i do think his death is intriguing and leaves a lot to think about. rip eko tho </3
honorable mentions:
richard – didn’t get a lot from him this season, but i fucking love him. he’s one of my favs. enough said.
roger work man – i hope you fucking choke and die <3
ethan – a jumpscare every time he appeared on screen. surprisingly enjoyable to see again, i found myself liking his character. i think he just got cabin ( jungle? ) fever and went a little crazy, that’s all.
arzt – great little cameo and i loved his bug collection. so sad he exploded.
taller ghost walt – WALT I MISSED YOU!!! THERE’S MY BOY!

(Because I love when you do these so much) Could you please insult Benjamin Linus?
[rubs my hands together] who could forget dear rat boy???
ma! maaaa!!!! there's a weird fucking man outside!! BLINK MOTHERFUCKER!!!
"ben is an emotionally arrested virgin" - our lord and saviour michael emerson...... paraphrased
disclaimer: being a virgin isn't bad. it's funny because it's ben [squeezes him like a dog toy]
lemme just get this outta the way: juliet [kick] danielle [kick] alex [kick] charlie [punch] sayid [punch PUNCH] and last but not certainly not least,,, locke [taser blast to the balls]
look, i love ben but he of all people gets TWO happy endings (while sooome characters get none) so i will enjoy the cathartic thought of all the other characters beating him like a pinata
how ben's sick brain thought this would go:
arrange for ur crush's boyfriend to be killed
invite her over to discuss work but it's ACTUALLY a date. cook her a ham dinner. have a few of ur top buttons undone, of course. also imply her bf wants to fuck ana lucia aha you see, you are so clever, you have the big brain
reveal her bf's dead body to her
tell her she belongs to you
????
pussy!
with the added bonus of the undignified waddling up the hill after you've done objectifying her existence, well done
WHY THE FUCK WOULD JULIET MAKE YOU SOUP YOU DERANGED WEENIE???? you're not her ex, you're a freak [ben slides his hand close to juliet's] thats going in the lost cringe compilation along with charlie dancing in a nappy and jack saying "if i was hitting on you, you'd know it" get the fuck outta here, you are never getting ur little possum hands on those blessed mommy milkers
he eats like a victorian ingenue eating cucumber sandwiches
his cargo pants create the illusion that he is shaped like a pear. he is a bruised pear, not even fit for juicing, just throw him away
he watched kate and sawyer have sex in a cage. also he put them in cages. he also made kate wear a dress. his daughter's dress. what the actual fuck is wrong with you
where are your glasses. where are they!! do you even need them??? (i enjoy the concept that ben can't see most of the time)
"(⊙_⊙) i used to dream once" ur doing this on purpose, aren't you
"[sees ass porn] good lord..." benjamin linus, you don't get to kinkshame people. you of ALL people don't get to do that
he's not very fond of telling the truth. he's a wee bit of a fibby boy. also he got charlotte's birthday wrong, the dickhead
his response to alex having a boyfriend is to have him sent to a seizure inducing brainwashing room. sir, respect your daughter's agency. also don't torture teenagers. "oh but she might get pregnant" ah so ben would rather brainwash a kid than maturely discuss birth control with his daughter. fucking coward. oh hey, another reason he's incompatible with juliet, a fertility doctor
we only saw his fat tits once. fucking tease (and it was in [gags] stranger in a strange land you bastard)
he's an actual not hyperbole cult leader. feels bad, man
lowkey wanna fuck your mom AND you killed your dad? how DARE you validate freud!!!
also i've heard that murder is wrong
ben is one of my favourite characters

Unpopular Opinion - “The Death of Tom Friendly”
Tumblr media
SPOILER ALERT . . . if you have never seen the ABC series, “LOST” and have plans to do so, I suggest that you do not read this post.
"THE DEATH OF TOM FRIENDLY" Many fans of "LOST" have considered the series' Season Three finale, (3.22-3.23) "Through the Looking Glass" as the best one for years. I would have regarded as one of the best two or three finales, due to how the writers handled Charlie Pace’s fate and that last flash-forward scene between Jack Shephard and Kate Austen. However, my admiration for "Through the Looking Glass" remains muted due to one scene - namely James "Sawyer" Ford’s murder of one of the Others, Tom Friendly. To this day, I find the fans' positive reaction to Tom's death both puzzling and repulsive at the same time. Tom had led a group of Others to raid the Oceanic 815 survivors' beach camp in order to snatch women capable of childbirth. The Others' tussle with a small group of Oceanic survivors led to their capture of Sayid Jarrah, Jin Kwon and Bernard Nadler. The Others' leader, Ben Linus, had radioed Tom to shoot them. This was a prearranged code for Tom to shoot three bullets into the ground, pretending to kill the hostages and to mislead Ben's captors - the rest of the survivors led by Jack Shephard. Before the situation could evolve any further, Oceanic survivors Hugo "Hurley" Reyes and Sawyer, came to the three captives' rescue with the help of former Other, Juliet Burke. The newly arrived trio managed to kill Tom's companions and unarm him. Tom, with no weapon in hand, surrendered to the Oceanic survivors and Juliet. And following that moment, Sawyer shot him dead, in the heart. Why did Sawyer kill the unarmed Tom? He revealed to Hurley that he killed Tom in retaliation for Walt Lloyd's kidnapping in the Season One finale, (1.23-1.25) "Exodus". And ever since the Season Two episode, (2.11) "The Hunting Party", Sawyer has blamed Tom for shooting him aboard Michael Dawson's raft, following Walt's kidnapping. Many of the show's fans immediately believed Sawyer's words and cheered him for Tom's murder. I have no idea why so many thought it was great when Sawyer had murdered an unarmed Tom after his surrender. I found Sawyer’s murderous act as nothing to smile or cheer about. I thought it was stupid and vindictive. And I found Tom's death as a pathetic example of Sawyer’s penchant for scapegoating others for his pain and using violence to "settle the score". What made Tom's murder even more pathetic was that Sawyer had no genuine excuse to kill him. I can understand why Sawyer had initially blamed Tom for Walt's kidnapping. But after becoming aware of Ben Linus in early Season Three, surely, he must have realized that Ben had ordered the kidnapping. To make matters even more ironic, the "LOST: MISSING PIECES" short clip titled "Room 23" revealed that island protector Jacob had ordered Ben to kidnap Walt and prevent the latter from leaving the island. There was no way Sawyer could have learned about Jacob's role in the kidnapping. But as I had earlier stated, he should have realized that Ben had ordered Tom to carry it out. Instead, Sawyer spent nearly two months solely blaming Tom for Walt's kidnapping. The lack of brain power from Sawyer struck me as amazing, considering his intelligence. Yet, Sawyer had never targeted or attacked Ben for the kidnapping. Instead, like the immature idiot he sometimes tends to be, Sawyer solely blamed Tom and made the latter the scapegoat for over a month-and-a-half. Earlier, I revealed that Sawyer had blamed Tom for shooting him on Michael's raft. Either Sawyer was blind as a bat at the time, or he possessed a truly shitty memory. First of all, Tom had never shot Sawyer. After the Other had expressed his intent to kidnap Walt, Sawyer reached for his gun . . . and one of Tom's companions shot him, leading him to fall in the water. That is correct. Another member of the Others had shot Sawyer, not Tom. Nor did Tom order the man to shoot Sawyer. However, being true to his character, Sawyer blamed Tom and nursed a grudge to kill the latter in retaliation for his pain. What a brainless dick! Some fans have defended Sawyer's murder of Tom, claiming that Tom could have proven to be a threat in the near future. Murdering someone because they might be a future threat? I am supposed to accept that as a relevant excuse for his murder of Tom? Were fans really expected to sweep aside Sawyer's penchant for violent retribution and inability to exercise his brains? I mean . . . seriously? Tom Friendly may have been a minor villain, but he did not deserve to be gunned down in cold blood in that manner. Especially since he had been unarmed and had surrendered. I have never been a major fan of James "Sawyer" Ford. But I have never really disliked him. Except during late Season Three. I had really grown to dislike Sawyer during this point in the series. And his penchant for scapegoating and violence retribution would eventually lead him to make one of the biggest mistakes of his life.

Just gonna post some Sayid screenshots. I wonder how many people unfollowed me by now.... LMFAO
Tumblr media
Sayid with hair in his face is cute but it has the unfortunate side effect of covering his face.
Charlie is also contemplating the pros and cons of Sayids pretty hair in his face. (citation needed)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think this is the first time he smiles in the show and then he smiles like 10 other times and thats it. In the whole show. Neither of them know how hard theyll go for each other in the future.
Also Sayid reminds me of the cheetah in that post.
Tumblr media
Hair half in his face is a good look. Cuz you get pretty curly hair AND pretty face at the same time. This is the way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kate and Sayid watching Shannon and Boone bicker is so funny. They really said 👀😒*listening intently*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
g g girls... pr... ..etty
Tumblr media
Parallel play with the besties.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whyd they have to look at Hurley like this... what did he do to deserve this... Mean girl behavior.
Tumblr media
Kate, probably: Dick from terrible men hits different when you got the baddest bitch you know in your ear telling you he aint worth it.
Tumblr media
Sayid being a completely rational, reasonable man on an island where everything is unreasonable and irrational... he doesnt deserve this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sayid pulling the trigger on Danielle and her telling him she removed the pin and that her lover didnt notice the missing pin either... then later when Danielle gives him another gun he checks the pin just in case.
We love a man who can learn from his mistakes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ben didnt even say thank you after Sayid served this hard in front of him. Thats crazy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pretty... this warm lighting is such a good look. If it was bad for Sayid to torture 'Henry Gale' then why so pretty?
And also he was right so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sayid: Everything was just as you said it would be... but I still didnt believe you... so I dug up the grave.
Ben (in his head probably): .... who the fuck digs up a grave....
Everything worked out so well for Ben when it came to Jack and Locke... Sayid beat the shit out of him and almost shot him in the face for it. LMFAO.
Honestly I would have loved to see the look on Ana Lucia and Charlies face when Sayid just gets to his knees and starts ripping at the ground with his bare hands.... cuz its not like they had a shovel.... so Sayid had to have dug up that grave with his hands. Put those nails to good use.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pretty.... also Sayid big tiddie tan lines...? Real?👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sayid talks about dying like he thinks he deserves it so its interesting that he always fights so hard to live. I guess its cuz he always has a mission like finding Nadia or protecting the Oceanic survivors in one way or another... he did tell Jack he was 'willing to give his life but he wont give it for nothing.'
Also... the fake nurses face as Sayid wraps his own IV tube around the dudes throat is so fucking funny. Bro realized he was not built for this.
Tumblr media
At least Sayid is polite enough not to kill someone at Jacks work? Like he killed everyone else that got close to his people... some dude died getting slammed onto a bunch of upright knives like Sayid was an agent for Death in the Final Destination franchise. He just shot you with your own tranquilizer gun...
You didnt even thank him for it.
Jack didnt either.
Men are so rude to Sayid.

You know what? Locke might just be an even worse leader than Jack. At least Jack cares about the lives of the people he’s leading, while Locke only cares about the island (and occasionally Ben).
Jack makes dumb decisions, but they’re for the purpose of protecting other people. Locke makes even dumber decisions for the purpose of the island, or to prove a point (Season 2 finale)
An example? Boone. Locke had zero regard for his safety, and he used Boone to help him open the hatch. I know in my Jack post I said he needed to utilize the people he had, but there’s a difference. People like Kate or Sayid were 100% willing to help Jack, but he refused. Boone got roped into this because he wanted to help find Claire. Locke never really gave him a choice, and that led to his death.
And, when Boone got hurt, Locke withheld information about what happened, information that Jack could have used to save Boone’s life.
The Season 2 finale is also peak Locke idiocy. He was willing to endanger everyone on the island just because he thought that maybe the button was fake. Good thing Desmond was there, or they all probably would have died.
Season 3.... oh boy, this is where it gets interesting. Locke actually steps into a leader position in the beginning when Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are missing. He actually does make some good decisions that help Eko. He does pretty well when neither Jack nor Ben are around.
And then he abandons Kate and Sayid at the Barracks so he can go talk to Ben. This is where he makes one of the worst decisions a leader can make: He blows up the submarine.
Alright, we get it, Locke doesn’t want to leave the island, and he wants it to stay hidden. But, there were over 40 innocent flight 815 survivors who just wanted to leave, and the submarine was the only way.
Most of the rest of Season 3 isn’t too bad, in terms of leadership, at least. Locke makes plenty of dumb decisions, like trusting Ben, but they mostly don’t hurt anyone except himself.
Once he kills Naomi, it’s a different story. He murders an innocent woman, and then tries to kill the ONLY DOCTOR and make sure the survivors can’t get off the island.
In Season 4, Locke’s leadership skills (or, rather, lack of leadership skills) really shine. Now, he makes lots of idiotic decisions here, but the biggest one is this: Ben basically told him that Widmore was going to send people after them who wouldn’t hesitate to kill anyone around him. And what did Locke do? Nothing. And guess what happened, most of the people he was leading died.
By Season 5, none of the survivors regard him as their leader, and I think he knows that. Sawyer doesn’t trust him, and he has every right not to. But in this season, Locke actually does the right thing and stops the time flashes.
So, in conclusion with both this post and the Jack one, the two main leaders of the show are horrible leaders.

🐝🌻🐾 for the lost asks :3
🐝 favorite poly ship
this is such a good question for me personally because i’m so used to just. headcanoning so many people as polyamorous. i headcanon practically half of the island in a relationship together. but my Big favorite is kate/sawyer/sayid with sawyer dating both kate and sayid, but kate and sayid aren’t dating each other. BUT they are really close to each other and love their bratty malewife boyfriend.
🌻 favorite minor/background character
hmmm.. this is a hard question because i like. Forget. that some people are “minor” or “background” and i don’t know how to consider them? like are bernard and rose minor characters? if so i love them so much. rose is my absolute favorite minor character. i also really like amy (horace’s lesbian wife) for no reason other than she’s pretty
🐾 favorite headcannon
fuuuuuckk i cant even pick one. off the top of my head though? that roger was actually the one who shot ben and it was pinned on sayid. it was way too out of character for sayid to do that shit. he’s not stupid. he wouldn’t have shot ben and thought that “oh hey this will fix all the problems future ben causes” because that’s not how it works and he knows that! sayid went thru such unbelievable character assassination as the writers decided to pay less attention to him and more attention to the white characters. :|

most/least likely lost characters to have taken a gender studies course
oh so sorry i left this sitting so long ❤ this is a good one
juliet clearly has taken several, and can quote seminal feminist essays or argue a stance on an old debate if pressed. while she doesn’t have any buddies to talk about feminism with on the island (except for the pregnant patients she killed. oops!), she probably doesn’t have to do much force-feeding to get sawyer to read something fairly digestible like the feminine mystique or something; in fact she probably did force it down his throat when they were living in the 70s and he needed to brush up on the era-appropriate texts of the day. but she had to help him sound out all the hard words like "patriarchy” so it just wasn’t the same :(
ben took one. his final paper was frankly sociopathic. the less said about it, the better
rose and bernard absolutely know their herstory and have little debates amongst themselves about who was right etc. these debates often end with bernard respectfully conceding, as is required by feminism
i waffled on this, but sayid probably at least took a class on feminist policy. he’s not a huge fan of theory (what a snooze) but he was very interested in discussions of how to practically build a better world for women
eko absoutely would have, had he gone to college. missed opportunity for juliet and rose to teach a class :(
during desmond’s campaign to win charles widmore over, i feel like he got as far as enrolling in night school, and he was going to take a gender studies class as his social studies distro requirement but the course packet was kinda expensive so he decided to take a boat ride instead
hurley didn’t go to college but you know, once he’s jacob and he can presumably use the internet from the communications station, what’s stopping him from taking online classes? honestly ben probably urges him to. value of education and all
daniel simply must have taken a gender studies class at oxford because it is the only way he met his beard hag girlfriend
