I never fail to roll my eyes when people say alfred is the one who put up jason's memorial in the case (I never fail to roll my eyes when people act like alfred, and not bruce, is the source of the bat clan's problems, period).

first of all, that memorial is painfully in-character for bruce, lbr. second of all, I'm gonna go blue in the face if I have to explain one more time that alfred has zero authority over batman-related matters (and a few others) in that household (bruce's household; the pater familias' property). third of all that was a throwaway moment written by geoff johns of all people (remember how he butchered jason's backstory with the teen titans), in a justice league cameo issue, where alfred was explicitly trying to get jason to look at bruce with better eyes, and thus likely to have lied out of his ass (iirc this is soon before bruce pulls the stunt of taking jason back to his place of death to trigger any repressed memories so. lol).

most importantly, remember batman: underd the hood? THEE jason todd run? issue 641 to be precise? how, after jason's identity (and living status) is confirmed, alfred asks bruce (because it is bruce's decision!) if wants him to take the memorial down? and bruce refuses because jason being back "doesn't change anything at all"?

I don’t think I’ll ever get over how hiccup choosing to save toothless is him also choosing himself. It is him looking at his awkward kind self and actively deciding not to fit into the mold everyone wants him to be

I like to think that on some level Shanks is just a little upset (Beckman knows the truth; that he is deeply, simmeringly, furious) at the unfairness and hypocrisy that is Mihawk still wanting to fight Zoro.

That he still thinks Zoro’s going to be his greatest challenger- the one to usurp his throne, that even though he’s down an eye, even though they are both “lacking”. Zoro is somehow still worthy of Mihawk’s attention when Shanks has been judged and found wanting.

Shanks lost an arm, and they still can’t talk about it, and Mihawk still won’t fight him, but he’ll fight Zoro. Trained Zoro. And he knows it’s not the same, he doesn’t even want the title, doesn’t want to be Mihawk’s “destiny”. He knows that he’s being childish but Mihawk started it and it’s not fair.

it's so fucking odd to me that apparently people just. believe me? when i tell them stuff about myself?

i showed up to my first psychiatrist appointment ready to fight just to get something and he listened to me talk, took notes, occasionally asked me a question and then asked what i need. and then gave it to me. every single time.

same with my therapist, i've been with her for over a year and it STILL catches me off guard every single session that she fully believes what i tell her. same with the accommodations appointment today.

it's not that i lie, the opposite, but after twenty years of being told "you don't have x you are lying" "you're lying" "you are just lazy" whenever i expressed pain or a need for something this is mind-blowing. a doctor could tell my mother hey ur child has this problem and you know what she'd say the second we left the office?

"oh you are fine you don't need any of the things they prescribed."

and now people listen and help without accusing me of being a liar. fucking wild.

the thing about me is that as long as it's written with honesty and it brings some interesting messiness to the narrative I'm game for about any romance you could write as a story, even if it's one I dislike and/or that I don't think could work as a couple. the moment you add a conventional happily ever after with marriage and kids and shit you've lost me, though.
