Dan and Phil still refusing to outright acknowledge that they are in a relationship while clearly being in a relationship is a little bit funny but tbh if my fanbase spread a video about my most intimate and personal moments with my significant other for years and years after it was accidentally leaked all while I was still not out to my own family, I would also do everything in my power to keep as much of my love life away from them as humanly possible for the rest of my life

I DESPERATELY need to to talk about this video, because unfortunately I was one of those people that saw it and remember it like it was yesterday,

It was the sweetest gesture a person could make, and it was so very personal and connecting that once you truly think about it, it was the right decision to keep it private and regardless of wether they were or are together or not,

it showcased a pure, unadulterated, bond full of true love and companionship and I do believe in platonic love, platonic love is the best type of love, it's stronger and deeper then any other connection

ok so

the vday vid was a video phil made for dan on valentine’s day in 2010 bc they couldn’t be together since dan was on a trip with his family. this video is basically a love letter detailing phil’s favorite memories with dan and how much he’s impacted his life. also … cherry lube um.. anyways he posts it unlisted on his 2nd(?) channel and sends dan the link to watch it. years go by and no one knows about this until in 2012 youtube had a glitch where it made all unlisted videos public and put them in subscription feeds again… phil takes it down shortly after and copyright strikes any reuploads any of it. the fandom treats it as a very taboo topic (obviously) and only mentions it in brief references or by aluding to it. anyone who talked about it publicly got harrassed until they stopped (for good reason honestly). it’s only become pretty okay to talk about recently after they came out but yeah different situations, similarish was the fandom treats the events … both are uncomfortable to watch for different reasons though… but yeah if you have any questions ab it feel free to ask

Re your Phil's insta story tags: what happens that's related to dnp?

nothing like referencing them in the game or anything but, still uhh... very related. spoilers for FFVII / Rebirth and discussion of the vday video under the cut

dnp have both loved final fantasy / final fantasy vii since before they met. in the original final fantasy vii, there is a part where cloud gets to go on a date with another party member on a ferris wheel. during this part, there are fireworks that go off outside and the song that plays in the background is called "interrupted by fireworks." well, in the vday vid phil talks about going on the ferris wheel with dan the first day they met. when talking about this part, interrupted by fireworks is playing in the background. and dan had said in an old formspring post that interrupted by fireworks reminds him of phil (and included a <3 with it). in the remake that just came out, if cloud goes on a date with tifa (who is heavily implied to be his love interest in a lot of FFVII media), there is a version where he kisses her on the ferris wheel. and guess what happened with dnp on that ferris wheel... this remake coming out as we are now months away from dnp's 15th anniversary sure is something.
