So I had my radio on the local Throwback (AKA oldies from the 90s and early 2000s) station and this song came on.

After listening to it, and now that season two is over, I got to say that the lyrics screamed Lestat to me. And that makes me look side eyed at this song, because...it's kinda not healthy lol but I will sing it nonetheless.

I’m I the only one who a bit wary of season three of gay vampire drama show.

Like with the press release saying “no tigger warning” rubs me up the wrong way and just a few things (like the mentioning of space) makes me question where they’re gonna take the plot.

I really want the show to do well and be successful in all ways, I truly do so knock on wood and fingers crossed I’m wrong.

San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner and their lists of panels and autographs booths are just rolling out. So far on the Anne Rice Immortal Universe front is the announcement of a booth.

As the "Anne Rice Universe" right now is just INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE and MAYFAIR WITCHES, expect representation from those shows.

While no confirmation of his participation at Comic Con, series composer Daniel Hart will appear on a podcast this Sunday - "Black Girl Talk Fangs".

Hart posted the recording the the hurricane background music, "I Didn't Know It Was a Gift". Tagging onto this video is a clip of Jake Cecil, the Vampire Gustav, crooning like he's Alex Turner or summat.

Until word on confirmation of the cast at SDCC come through, a look back at fandom being funnier than Lestat acting like he was fine with Louis stepping out on him.

Okay but like hear me out here.

Rashid.

That guy is interesting. I adore how salty and posessive he is.

I read all the books up to probably when the farm one was published (that's the one with the ghost twin, I think) but before that, I read the books multiple times. So I am coming from a place of being more than moderately familiar with the source material, but a but fuzzy.

I am also coming at this from a place of having the unpopular opinion of loving Tale of the Body Thief. So take that as you will.

I understand that TBT is problematic but like? This whole series is problematic so...

Anyway back to Rashid.

I don't remember if he was anyone in the books, but I do know that he reminds me, in appearance at least, of a certain vessel from TBT. And, well, that brings to mind a few other thoughts. Namely the part in TBT with David, the old human dude who helps track down the Body Theif.

And I would also like to point out that Daniel Malloy becomes a vampire in the books, but as a young man.

So hear me out.

In the show. After some time passes, we have the plot arc of TBT, only with Rashid playing the role of the Body Thief, with Daniel being instrumental in tracking him down, and with the final conclusion to that arc involving Daniel becoming a vampire in Rashid's body.

Like.

This is so bad lmao. It would be so ballsy.

Everyone would hate it. Louis would be pissed at Lestat for doing it to his lover, Daniel would be pissed at becoming a vampire without his consent, Rashid would be pissed because he would be dead, and/or his pretty boy body would be occupied by Daniel, who he already has a bit of a conflicted relationship with.

Plus having a white guy occupy a POC body has its own incredibly frought implications, which could be good if it's addressed or could be a total train wreck.

Anyway, I can't stop thinking about the drama this series of events would cause, and I will stick around for years in hope that I will eventually see it come to pass.

If you're watching the current series of AMC+/AMC's INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (its second series), you will see how bad Louis is at handling matters of the heart.

Minor thoughts about S2 so far (spoilers)

I love Louis and Armand as a couple! Do I know the other shoe is going to drop? Of course, but I do not care. I'm enjoying them.

I see so many people say Assad Zaman and Jacob Anderson lack chemistry, and to each it their own, but I feel a lot of people are Sam Reid/Lestat fans and are peeved at his decrease presence this season and (to them) the lack of Louis and Lestat so they're not even interested in Louis and Armand and try to wrap this disinterest up into saying the show "is off".

Tis nothing wrong with the series. To me it's richer. And yeah, I do miss Lestat, who wouldn't?

Him still bewitching Louis, leaving Louis to grapple with his grief and his love for Lestat? The pain is exquisite!

Not just visions, but Louis coming up with a remix to "Come to Me" where Lestat calls him a little whore?

I wonder what's the next outfit Louis imagines DreamStat in?

We already got Lestat's white death outfit

Louis needs to imagine him in the suit from this moment.
