'The original version of the classic song "Wild Thing", later made famous by The Troggs and Jimi Hendrix. This was released on November 1, 1965, about six months before The Troggs recorded their remake, which would would go to #1 on the US charts and sell millions of copies around the world. The Troggs - Love Is All Around
My feed could use less ardent piety and fewer coercive attempts to inspire. I know such posts are intended to help, or at least their posters believe that's their intention, but they come off as different cocktails of pedantic, self-congratulatory, and condescending.
For instance, it was recently suggested to me that the belief that we are "surrounded by love" requires "mental effort". The implication is that I'm mentally lazy for not feeling surrounded by love. If you feel that you are, then good for you. I mean that. But this is not a metaphysical constant that some of us "fail" to grasp. Rather, is seems very likely that it's more akin to fortune or privilege.
I mean, do I really need to point out that it's manifestly clear from the massive violence and suffering and carnage that defines the experiences and environments of so many people that not everyone is surrounded by love?
Do I need to share photographic evidence of how so many people are surrounded by hate and savagery and cruelty?
Or simply deprivation of love?
So, no. I'm not surrounded by love. There is love. But I'm not surrounded by it. I do indeed expend energy seeking opportunities to give and receive love. But it isn't my fault I'm not surrounded by it or believe I am. And if you feel similarly, it isn't your fault either.
Such posts seem awfully similar to suggesting to people they are at fault for not believing that Jesus was the messiah and the incarnation of the godhead in human form. "Come to Jesus". Open your heart to him and salvation. Glad that gives you joy if you do. Or any other belief that gives you strength. But I don't need this in my feed. (Also, Calvin has some pretty good arguments based on Paul that faith isn't something one earns or achieves through effort, but is a free gift from God. Should "the elect" blame those who aren't recipients of this gift? Not a compelling imitatio Christi, thought I digress. I'm not interested in that faith for myself, whether as a gift or an achievement.)
Such posts implicitly blame people for their pain. They don't encourage. They don't strengthen. Their flaunted implicit claims of enlightenment don't invite or offer openings. They tell us how we SHOULD feel and think and then we'll be as enlightened as their enlightened posters who have achieved a more correct or beneficial or blessed path. Congrats.
I don't find them compassionate. I find them alienating.
Of course, such posters can also blame me for those experiences of them as well.
But worse, they constitute unsolicited advice.
On the other hand, this belief that we are surrounded by love does correspond to a lovely old Troggs song. (Although, Troggs is a derivative of troglodytes, so maybe take that into account). Still, a lovely ditty. Hope you also enjoy it. If you don't, it's not your fault. Hope you have ones that you do. And very likely ones we share.

The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Cream, Spencer Davis and ‘Keep On Running,’ The Animals, The Byrds, The Troggs and the Jimi Hendrix Experience, emphasized the differences between us: Youth and Them, them were the tired and old warmongers.

Miller - Baby I Got News For You (1965)
This tune sounds remarkably like the Troggs in all their single minded stupidity. Miller was Peter Miller, who also recorded some all sorts of psych rarities as Big Boy Pete.
I don't care if I do the right thing by you
