Wanted to share this commission by Dash, who so lovingly illustrated my vision for Gunter's first wife!! Although Lorah's lived in my head since 2017, this is the first time I've had her drawn. Buddy started to swear a lot early on bc he was an angry mess and lowkey an asshole and also Shiro propably tried to swear as little as possible most of the time, and now hes NOT Shiro anymore, so who cares? Theyre all gonna die bc of hunger or dehydration or get killed by hostile fauna soon anyway so what's the point

Tashi tries his best to not cuss and to discourage others from doing it, not really bc hes all that morally appalled by it but bc in most normal situations You Shouldnt Swear Around Children and hes trying very very hard to keep up a charade of normalcy(hes constantly swearing in his head tho. Screams FUCKING HELL internally every five seconds). eventually(after about 2 years) he gives up and stops giving a shit. His constant nagging DID work a little bit tho and buddy eventually starts to swear less and also substitute the cuss words with the more kid friendly versions(they make sure to look extremely displeased the whole time though)

Soup and stickbug know so many swears in multiple alien languages its insane. Soup doesnt speak much but stickbug uses swearing as a means to calm down when hes alone(imagine him screaming into a pillow). when he was younger he was always careful to only swear when the adults(mostly tashi) werent around, and for a good year whenever taks or taka would tattle on his cussing, tashi would wave it off bc stickbug doesnt swear!! hes too much of a good nice kid to do that!!!!! hes just a shy little guy:)(<- in reality he is trying his best to appear harmless and obedient in front of The Authority Figure bc thats his survival strategy.). eventually after a few long months he calms down and gets comfortable enough to gradually drop the act and starts swearing more often(still tries to limit it tho). dw tho in his 20s he starts to cuss profusely to make up for that

taks and taka both didnt know many swears at the beginning but they quickly started to pick up new ones(mostly bc of bud)(and stickbug. but tashi didnt believe taka when he admitted that he was the one who thaught him 'fuck' and thought he was covering for taks lmao). as kids do, they LOVE swearing, do it every chance they get. later taka mostly stops swearing aside from slip ups and hanging around w/ his siblings, but taks? she cusses every chance she gets and tashi can do nothing about it(and believe me, he tried).

eenek knows galran swear words and tried to learn earth ones back in the day from stick..... it ended with stick lying to them and making them think random english words are cusses to fuck with them. they dont realise whats going on until after having spent years muttering shit like 'hydrazine thrusters' and 'screwdriver' under their breath whenever they stubbed a toe<3

the "war" lasts almost two years and for three-fourths of those two years, zach's family is mostly dead—his father, by líf on the battlefield; his sister, by an undead soldier when he stubbornly decides to go fight and she tags along, despite their mother begging them to stay put; his mother, by thrasir, in front of him, and what makes it worse is that she musters up the last of her strength to send him away with breidablik

only his aunt survives (ironic) and takes him to embla, which wasn't the initial target and so is mostly okay. he grows an attachment to his namesake and to veronica, and they also die to protect him because he's the only one who can make things right

he manages to get as far as finding the other breidablik, thanks to loki tipping him off after traumatizing him by masquerading as "his mom who he accidentally summoned", but líf figures this out and has to put him down

(oh, and also, this time around, eir recalls what happened and runs to warn the latest target about it, and since kiralfonse are middle-aged, while she's basically a teenager/young adult, they treat her like a second daughter while zach and his sister sol take up the role their father and aunt initially occupied

and zach refuses to let eir be taken away too, but fails miserably, with breidablik being his last ditch effort to save her)

and then he gets summoned to canon timeline askr, where they've beaten hel and his parents' murderers roam the halls like ghosts

even worse is that líf is basically kiran's bodyguard so he usually stalks her from afar, but he's gone on a mission when the kid's summoned. in the meantime, zach—a mama's boy who spent the last few months of her life depressed and convinced only his mother could save askr, only for her to choose to save him and the guilt of it is something he still has trouble coping with—also takes up that role, fearful of anything that might hurt her

(it becomes a running joke that whenever he sneaks up on her and hugs her, she's like "alfonse?"

at first, it bothers zach because he struggles with the insecurity that he's absolutely nothing like his parents, in true second gen lord fashion

but then she disappears for like six hours—and later, it turns out she was just accompanying his grandma for a trip to a town nearby, along with some other heroes, but forgot to mention it to someone—and he's like "oh")

and then líf comes back. and although thrasir warns him, because she remembers well what a wreck he was after killing his own son, who, in their timeline, died much younger and he couldn't even be there for his last moments, he still struggles with his curiosity and desire to see the mother and son duo safe

unfortunately, the first time they meet is when freyja decides to put kiran to sleep since now there isn't anyone to interfere with her plans. and zach left her for like five minutes, at which point she wandered off to the summoning grounds and fainted right before líf's eyes

líf has to walk ten feet behind them, even after alfonse assures him that yes, líf is perfectly harmless, only for things to get tense real quick when zach gets incredibly angry and ends up revealing something everyone's already guessed (after alfonse accidentally reveals who líf actually is).

things stay tense until kiran wakes up and works her magic. it's literally the first thing she does.

(thrasir also "helps", because she fills him in on what happened after he died, and since there's still a small part of him that can't help but care about líf since it's his dad, it affects him deeply)

he does reconcile with alfonse, though líf remains something they don't acknowledge

but he and líf manage a mostly peaceful coexistence.

sometimes, they'll even have conversations, mostly when they're stuck working together and líf's weapon ends up hurting zach so líf gets to be a bit fussy, and zach can't help but feel a bit jealous of the eight year old him who died, despite proclaiming he wants nothing to do with líf because that kid's dad loved him so much he was willing to murder another version of him for his sake—while líf is in this constant cycle of feeling unworthy and being grateful that zach is even willing to listen to him

Thinking about how Daenerys never directly calls Rhaella 'mother' and literally always calls her 'mamma'. The only time she might refer to her as 'mother' is when she's talking about Rhaella to people she's not familiar with/does not truly consider to be a friend and thus wants to instill a sense of respect (but, ofc, if Rhaella is present, she's just 'mamma' !!!). When she's speaking to those who are close to her, however, Daenerys just says 'my mamma' or 'mamma'.

realistically, i probably shouldve known that reading fire and blood would just make me not like hotd, even with how little i knew about the changes from asoif to game of thrones

my biggest issues are the sheer amount of violence against women solely to build the character of the men assaulting them. not to show how the women in these stories have suffered, not for the women to overcome, not for the conversation to be focused on the women that were harmed, only to show you the character of the men in the show, and most times these men are given a pass.

not only are these instances just passingly brought up, but the show has done such a bad job at portraying these moments as the worst of the worst (especially when i comes to alicent, because why tf are there so many people that truly believe that she “seduced” him, and that hes the real victim)

Please understand that the end result of Junko in Timeline Canon is actually Junko sees smallest therapist Alana Bloom, who falls a little bit in love with everyone she meets and who, post-Mizumono, is very equipped to specifically help one Junko Enoshima.

...and definitely needs to get over Jess in this story because Alana and Timeline Canon Jess is maybe the biggest tragic disaster of the entire thing.

The Legend of Zelda - Hero's Diaries masterpost

(Don't expect this to be continued, this is just for my own organisation lol)

If you've seen posts like my Project Sky, Earth Heart, or Bleach Maths, you know I like my overly grand dedications and oversized projects. Outside of a few personal ones, this is probably my longest and most researched one yet - my Hero's Diaries.

Zelda, to me, is one of those franchises I just sort of slipped into, my parents bought the games because we had the appropriate consoles and they were consistently good, you know? I loved them individually, but didn't piece them together as parts of a larger world until I was a little older, and then sought them out on my own.

Possibly one of the best parts of tloz is its silent protagonist, Mx-link-between-the-player-and-the-game. As a child, and even really as an adult, I could get so engrossed in the games, choosing my every action wisely, playing little games I made up myself in the world, taking in the scenery, frothing when I died to some smug looking boss, standing in front of animals to pretend I was petting them (mostly Epona) XD.

So between that, my love of documenting and researching, and my writing hobby, it was only natural that I keep little records of my own playthroughs. Funny little details and accidents, dramatically or comedically timed moments, bosses I defeated first try, npcs I did or didn't like.

It turned out, when I sat and thought about it, I'd actually played a lot of Zelda games, throughout the years.
