Charlie Bushnell was seen with back scratches in Dior Goodjohn’s vlog a day after YN posted that she had gotten her nails done.

Sources say they saw YN with a man who looks a lot like Charlie at the beach. The same day both and YN and Charlie soft launched their significant other at the beach.

The last flashback Draken remembered was on January 1st, 2005. Toman’s founding members with the addition to Angry and Smiley with Chifuyu and Pey-Yan, and of course you, was riding their bikes to the beach, yelling at each other their excitement. Of course you were right behind Mikey, holding onto the seat, too shy to hold onto his waist but he’s wishing you’d just hold a hand on him. You had a heavy backpack filled with your bendable microscope, notebooks, maps, etc. you were the one who suggested this since you had such a passion for the stars.

TINY FLASHBACK

“We should watch the stars and sunrise before the the new year! It’d be so pretty, I’ll bring my stuff so we can watch the stars.” You beamed to Mikey as he was sucking on his usual teriyaki. “Ooh! Sounds fun. Where?” He said tilting his head. “The beach! I heard the sky will be really clear, and the sunrise is gonna be bright, it’d be so pretty.” You said filling your cup of water. “Toman would really enjoy it!” You smiled innocently, he pouted thinking it was just gonna be the two of you. “Oh. Sure, sure~” He said continuing to pout.

“Baji!! How did the Olympus incident go?!” Draken yelled through all the harsh, loud sounds of the motor bikes speeding up.

“Those punks were just the first squad, so we beat them up easily!” Baji said, pretending he wasn’t proud of himself.

They were talking amongst themselves on their bikes, while you and Mikey had your own conversation.

“Wow, it’s chillier than I’d thought it’d be, and I brought multiple blankets and layers.” You said, holding back your shaking, keeping your hair from blowing all over the place.”

“Sounds like you need more body heat..” Mikey said, he knew what he was doing. “I have a jacket in my backpack but it’s too dangerous to take it out..” you said looking over his shoulder.

“Hold on to me then…” he finally bursted out. Shutting his mouth before he said anything else. You slightly flushed, feeling a bit giddy holding on to him. He was always physically affectionate but you were never the one to initiate it. “Oh..yeah sure.” You shyly said, holding onto his shoulder. Mikey had to stop himself from rolling his eyes teasingly.

“Silly girl, you’re not gonna get any warmth like that. Don’t be all shy now~” he teased, smiling.

“W-well I thought it would be uncomfortable for you! Since your driving and all!” You panicked. He let out a hearty laugh. “Just do it, [Name]!”

You gulped before finally wrapping your arms around his waist, he felt shivers down his spine, but not from the crisp, cold air blowing through your faces. Dammit [Name] you’re so…oblivious! He thought.

You guys parked your bikes and walked to the shore of the beach, you flattened a large fluffy blanket on the ground, preparing your microscope. The others were laughing and running. Obviously getting adrenaline from the scene in front of them. Who wouldn’t? The air was crisp, the wind slightly blowing, the moon was shining bright, slowly going down. It wasn’t snowy but it sure was cold, you spotted Mikey heading to the edge of the bridge and tilted your head in confusion. -I wonder what he’s thinking about- You thought.

“Of course you brought your microscope, you damn dork.” A raspy low voice startled you. Turning around you saw Baji smirking, sitting down with Chifuyu next to him. “Of course I did! I told you I was gonna bring it.” You puffed, he laughed while Chifuyu was looking at your notes. “Damn [Name], are you ever gonna major in Astronomy? These are some intelligent notes.” Chifuyu praised and you smiled.

“No, it’s just a hobby for me. Making something I enjoy so much into work would be so depressing.” You laughed. He nodded, agreeing. Mitsuya, Pah-chin, and Pey-yan joined looking at your notes as well, making fun of each other saying that they’d never be able to be as knowledgeable as you were. Draken praised at how you were always the brains of the group and you laughed, enjoying this moment. This was definitely gonna be a core memory for you.

You looked at Mikey at the bridge, -he’s been there for a long time- you thought. You got up, patting your clothes. “I’ll be right back guys, they nodded, still talking among themselves. You walked to where Mikey was. The wind was blowing through his tied half up hair, the last moments of the moonlight shining on him, making him look majestic. You smiled as you inched closer to him.

“It’s pretty right? I knew you’d like it~” you said proudly, crossing your arms with your chin up in the air. He chuckled as looked over at you. Moments like this made you feel so attached to Mikey, and likewise to him. You’ve guys known each other since you were young, way before Emma joined his family. You were the only person who understood him, who he could be vulnerable to, who he could always count on. When his mom died, you were the first person he ran to, he didn’t want to cry, but you had this effect on people where they could be open to you. Your warm heart touching many people, your ambitions, your sense of understanding in peoples feelings and thoughts. It’s what attracted him the most. When Shinichiro died, the same thing, you hugged him, as he sobbed to your neck. You felt so terrible for him. Why was so many awful things happen to such a good kid? You always saw stories about how bad things happen to the best people. Mikey was another victim.

Something in his heart was telling him to tell you everything about how he feels about you.

“..[Name]…” he started, it was too late to stop himself now.

“Hmm?” You softly replied. Still admiring last bit of the moonlight.

“No matter what happens, with Toman or anything else, you’ll be with me forever right?”

You looked at him finally, and found he was already staring at you. He was admiring you while you were admiring the moon. You flushed lightly, feeling shy under his gaze but unable to look away. “Of course I will. I’m willing to be with you through every trial in your life. Like always.” You smiled lovingly. His dark onyx staring into yours, you could almost see your reflection in them. His eyes shined brightly at your answer

“Then please stay with me…….forever, okay? Don’t leave me.” He said. You smiled and shook your head. “I’m not gonna go anywhere, Mikey…”

He smiled as the sun rose, the light shining on both you and Mikey as he admired your beauty.

“Oh shoot, I brought my stuff all for nothing!!” You pouted as Mikey laughed.

“Aww poor [Nickname]~~” he teased as you puffed. He smiled at your pouting face, cooing at how cute you were.

“Next time, we’ll go again. Just the two of us.” he smiled at you, a loving look in your eyes. People cool assume you guys were lovers from how he was looking at you.

You smiled yourself, looking at the sunrise. The two of you watching it together.

Draken smiled, remembering the moment before closing his eyes, death blurring his vision, thinking of walking with Emma. He just wished Mikey came back. It probably would have stopped you from leaving..

okay, never in a million years do i think max would ever go on reality tv BUT my thoughts if he did under the cut

okay so obviously they see each other for the first time at the wedding and i think the level of attraction is different. like, initially daniel is like, 'okay, he's kinda cute, i can work with this,' whereas max is like, 'oh my god, this man is so beautiful, he is perfect, wow.' but the problem is, max doesn't show that. in fact, max doesnt show much of ANYTHING to begin with, at least not in the way daniel is used to.

because daniel is good at performing right, so when it comes to the vows, he's cracking jokes, making max's mum and victoria laugh (obvs j*s is not there), saying the cheesy shit they all say like 'i knew i wanted to marry you from the moment i met you,' and 'this is a leap of faith but i'm ready to jump with you, baby,' whereas max is like taking it very seriously, almost to the point of like... not seeming into it? like he says stuff like, 'i will try to like you, i hope also that you will like me, i want to be a very good husband,' because thats the truth! he cant lie and say like, he wants to spend his life with daniel, because he doesnt know him yet. but to daniel it seems a little...cold, so he's not sure how to feel about his new husband.

at the reception, max is even more awkward, doesn't know how to start conversation and barely answers the questions daniel asks him.

'what music do you like?' 'i do not listen to a lot of music.'

'what do you do for fun?' 'i like to play fifa.'

'what do you do for a job?' 'i am a car mechanic.'

and daniel is sinking lower and lower into his chair like, fuck, what have i done, i've got to spend the next few weeks with a guy who clearly doesnt have any social skills. meanwhile, max is like, wow, daniel wants to know so much about me:) he is a good listener:) he is doing all the talking because he can tell this is hard for me:) or something lol. doesnt realise hes being rude, he just- he cant do this with the camera in his face, okay?

then in the bedroom, on their wedding night max realises that maye its not been going as well as he thought because he tries to kiss daniel, but daniel just laughs, stepping away gently and saying, 'guess ill take the couch right?' because he thinks that. well max is really young? what if hes just in this for the fame, the quick money, what if hes doing this now because he feels he has to? daniel doesnt want it to be like that, okay. its not what hes here for. but to max, he's like. oh:(. he'd thought- but of course daniel doesnt want to sleep in the bed with him, because look at him and look at daniel.

then i think the misscommunication continues for a bit of their honeymoon. they both think the other doesnt like each other, and max says even less now because if daniel doesnt want to even kiss him, then what is the point trying to be husbands? so they avoid each other a little, until daniel eventually thinks, fuck it, i gotta *try*, because he cant have max say leave and go home in the first week okay? his friends (michael) bullied him so badly for doing this, so it has to be worth it.

so he sneaks max out to some romantic beach picnic without the cameras (btw theyre in the caribbean or something idk), gets them both tipsy and he asks, 'why did you even come on the show?' and because the cameras arent here, max can be honest and say, 'my sister, she has two babies. and i tried to find somebody who would want this also, but with me. but always, men wanted sex and then when instead i tried to go for breakfast the next day, they would just laugh and leave. maybe it is because i am bad at it, but i did not do it at all for a long time, because my dad-'

and then max breaks off, and daniel tugs him into his arms and is like, 'its okay max. somebody to build a life with, thats what i wanted too.' then he kisses max, and it's not like on the wedding day, a peck in front of their parents, it's deep and there's tongue and max can't help but push for more and more, to push daniel back into the sand and grind against him until daniel is like, 'why dont i be the judge of how bad you really are?' and then they have like, mindblowing sex over and over, for the rest of the honeymoon.

and im not saying the sex like, fixes everything, but i think max feeling wanted sexually by daniel soothes a lot of the insecurities inside him that were making it hard for him to open up to him in other ways? like the next morning in bed he's a little shy when daniel cracks a load of jokes about how very much not bad in bed he is, but he’s also laughing and laughing, and when daniel starts a conversation over breakfast, suddenly max is chatting his ear off. and he is still is a little awkward infront of the cameras, but in private, they start to build something real. he can banter back with daniel now, give as good as he gets, even if the jokes are dorky and not funny to anyone else. to daniel they're cute and because he knows what max was like before, he can see how hard max is trying.

and daniel doesnt know when it happens, but one day everythinggg max does just becomes endearing. all of max's little quirks, his bluntness, his black and white thinking, daniel realises this is max and he really really likes max. max isnt pumping his tires because he wants something from daniel, he genuinely thinks daniel is hilarious and sexy and kind. and because daniel knows this, he feels he can be *real* with max, in a way hes never been before? like, max likes daniel the showman, but he also just likes daniel.

i genuinely think its like, a whirlwind romance after that. they tell each other they love each other before they even come back from the honeymoon, the viewers at home are rolling their eyes declaring it will never last.

but it does :) after the initial struggle, they become the low maintenance couple that just vibe the whole time lol. daniel waffle's about how much they get on with each other at each comittment ceremony, while max is like, 'yes things are good:)' and dies inside the time the intimacy expert asks if theyve had sex or not, and how was it. daniel just winks and says no complaints, but refuses to give anymore away bc thats private and he knows max doesnt want it out there.

the only time they get into any drama is when daniel sticks up for max, declaring his love publically to the group for the first time, when one of the girls is being mean and saying that max has the personality of a cabbage and she doesnt understand what daniel sees in him. or when max (bc he’s defo the one to get put with the girls even though it should be daniel) gets a little outwardly jealous when all the girls answer 'daniel' when asked who they think the hottest husband is at those awkward group days (shoutout to the episode that aired just haha) but inside he’s preening, like, hell yeah, thats my man.

then when it ends, they post an update on insta like, yeah we are still together, here are our two cats & also we got married for real:)

okay i sat here for like 10 minutes trying to think of which au to talk abt and couldnt decide so im just going to write little summaries of all my favs and i can elaborate if requested

all of these were made with my wife <3

dream au: its 2009. johnny and daniel start having weird dreams about each other. the dreams seem to have continuity?? and are all extremely vivid and clear. johnny is the first to break and actually find daniel in real life to ask "hey am i insane or are these things real???". daniel has a minor breakdown but eventually admits they are and a relationship builds from there. theres also the same thing happening to 2019 era daniel and johnny and they are a Lot less normal abt it

tkk3 rewrite: i mentioned this one recently. the set up is all the same up until the point of the silver reveal. after rescuing daniel, miyagi still refuses to train him for his own reasons. before she leaves, jessica mentions she met a 'karate guy' at a nearby grocery store and maybe daniel could go train with him? daniel is at his wits end and goes to check it out only to find its none other than johnny lawrence <3. johnny finds the situation hilarious at first and agrees but once he finds out how fucked the situation is hes like. okay im like. actually going to help you what the fuck is happening

classic 'the one where theyre dating in tkk1' au: self explanatory. after the beach fight johnny approaches daniel and is like hey sorry abt that. ali makes me crazy lol. wanna get ice cream? and daniels like wtf is wrong with you. but yes ok. johnny struggles with having to outwardly pick on daniel around his friends but being a complete sap with him whenever theyre alone. their friends slowly clue on and each have mixed opinions on it.

danny and marty au: mid 90s. daniel is at a bar for a batchelorette party and starts getting hit on by a dude named marty. he is at first not interested but comes around after marty offers a karate spar in the alley outside. they end up going home together. the next morning while marty is making coffee, daniel is snooping and comes across a cobra kai gi and freaks out. 'marty' is actually dutch <3 who assumed daniel was a different guy after he failed to recognise him and thought 'well its not every day you get to screw a lookalike of the dude you were obsessed with in high school'. after daniel calms down they awkwardly exchange numbers with a vague promise to catch up later. dutch immediately drunk calls him that night to call him sexy and the au goes from there

i jokingly named this one harem au and it stuck: after a sleepover and messed up game of 'would you rather' the cobra boys all realise their obsession with daniel might not be exactly 'platonic' and all start trying to seduce him in their own ways. daniel very quickly picks up on this and thinks hey fuck it why not? ali thinks daniel is insane. johnny is trans in this one just for fun <3

Plastic Beach is the third studio album made by Gorillaz, released on March 3rd 2010. It is centered around and based off of concepts like over fishing and pollution in the ocean.

This is the standard album cover, Plastic Beach at Sunrise (or Sunset), but it has three other versions of Plastic Beach at different times during the day:

Daytime

Dusk

and Nighttime

All of them are very beautiful, but if i had to pick my favorite, it would be Plastic Beach at Sunset :)

and while we're on the visuals, Plastic Beach (and phase 3 in general) has some of my favorite artwork ever

this is one of my favs, i dont know why but i just think it's really cool! (this is like phase 3 but pre-plastic beach)

there was also a web game on their old website, and i havent watched a playthrough of it yet, but it looks really cool! (also 2D is very cute in it hehe <3)

Also i really love the concepts in the album and the story, nautical imagery and marine stuff is super cool to me and i absolutely adore it :D also the tagline being "Escape to Plastic Beach" makes me go insane i dont know why i just love that so much!!!!!

AND OF COURSE THE MUSIC!!!!!

Gosh i love all the songs on this album. The Orchestral Intro and Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach are amazing and they do such a good job of introducing us to the story of Plastic Beach. White Flag is an earworm for me, and Rhinestone Eyes is a classic. I used to not like Stylo until i realized that i was WRONG STYLO IS SO GOOD!!!! (also this might be an unpopular opinion, but i really like the 3D models in the Stylo and DoYaThing music videos! i think theyre really neat and just really fit the whole aesthetic of phase 3). Superfast Jellyfish is awesome and catchy i always sing along when i listen to it hehe ^_^ Empire Ants is beautiful it makes me feel such strong emotions the beginning with 2D is so beautiful and Little Dragon is amazing in this track ;_; Glitter Freeze and Some Kind of Nature are really neat, not my fav but still really good!! On Melancholy Hill and Broken are my favorites though, they are so beautiful and make me cry!!!!! Plastic Beach (the song) is so catchy and amazing, To Binge is very nice and nostalgic to me (also little side i just really enjoy that a good few of these songs are sort of love songs, it makes my 2D loving heart happy <3). Cloud of Unknowing is absolutely gorgeous, and Pirate Jet is a great closing track to the beautifully sad story of the Plastic Beach.

There is also the Doncamatic single which is one of my absolute favs, so catchy and awesome and i love it when 2D sings "Talk to me, talk to me, talk to me!" And also DoYaThang is amazing, very catchy as well, and the music video is very silly :)

(also a small shout out to The Snake in Dallas from The Fall since its still in phase 3, very good instrumental and my absolute fav from The Fall)

And that's why Plastic Beach is my favorite Gorillaz album!! If you get the chance, please listen to it! Id love to hear all your guys' thoughts on it :)

came across a photoshoot inspired by gq china's 'heat stroke' and its bad so here are my thoughts. this is only here cuz its too long for twitter

and heres the aptly named fashion fagguetes . couldn't find a link so i assume this is the whole shoot

ok so

it just has a completely different vibe. GQ captured a feeling of adults engaging in childlike summer fun; most of the props are Toys but their clothes are clearly those of people with Office Jobs. along with the sex appeal theres a more innocent nostalgia involved. and the almost blinding vibrant warm colors evoke a summer day so fun you dont realize youre sunburnt. even the background is a warm off-white.

most phallic looking ice creams ive ever seen in my life btw. someone call mika.

by contrast these shoot has oddly muted colors? combined with the sweat it comes off as grimy and less innocent, less nostalgic. the sex appeal is clearly still there but its a different kind, more overt and in your face. which is less effective. this doesnt look like a fun day off it looks like two annoying guys in a public beach bathroom.

this was likely a smaller production so its okay that they didnt have as many props as GQ but they definitely should have committed to one story rather than combining all the most viral parts of the original editorial. it just looks busy and unfocused. the solo pic above is probably the best just because of how few props there are, just a dude and his spit. still a bad heat stroke homage but fine pic on its own.

these two just piss me off. why are they staring at me and not each other? why are they making those faces? did he bring a pineapple int the shower? how did they make bananas unsexy? why does he still have that stupid headset on? again, whats the story here?

theyre not selling me any fantasy like GQ did so theres nothing for me to get into. it just looks goofy and artificial. on top of everything the lack of direction makes the sex appeal very crude, as if we're supposed to find them hot just because theyre ripped, sweaty and naked. like sorry the original was for a fashion magazine, you gotta show us fun outfits. their outfits r profoundly uninteresting and again just point to an unfocused shoot whose selling point is the appeal of their bodies alone.

Okay final episode thoughts that I don’t know that I can expand into real coherent thoughts so heck it we’re doing it live and cramming them together, no chronology just memory vibes, PART FOUR:

- I think part of the problem of it feeling so fast an episode, for me, is the anticipation; I waited to watch it with friends and by the time it was finally happening I had been waiting all day and it was killing me.

- That being said, the pace is breakneck, for something that starts so peacefully

- Love that we get immediate confirmation that Ed is not suited to a fisherman’s life. Though I do love the conflict inherent in Ed meaning “simple” as a compliment based on how hectic and chaotic his life has been up to this point, but of course someone who doesn’t know any of that would think he’s insulting them.

- Also very interested in the shift of Ed going to direct killing rather than trying to put a layer between it and himself; it’s the Kraken but in Protection Mode. Adore that for him. (And maybe the killing doesn’t count if they’re English Navy.)

- I had a feeling Stede was talking to Zheng about being a failure the longer the season went on. Delighted to be proven right. Was also shocked to hear she thought Auntie was dead but then had to reckon with the fact that she hasn’t analyzed a single screenshot and spotted Auntie like I did soooooo

- The simmering anger in my own gut when I saw Spanish Jackie’s overrun and the lady herself treated like that. Also OF COURSE THEY BUILD UP RESISTANCES TO IOCANE POWDER POISON IN THIS HOUSE

- (Side note but the number of ofmd fics, my own included, that have Princess Bride as a reference or element in them makes me smile)

- Calling Ricky Pinocchio. IZZY calling Ricky Pinocchio. The layers. The subtext. The intertextuality. The face-value humor. I’m salivating.

- The letter Ed reads! The way they say the words together!! If they don’t start next season with matching lover’s tattoos (or include it somewhere), I’m rioting.

- THEY GET TO RUN AT EACH OTHER ON A BEACH TO NINA SIMONE FOR REAL THIS TIME

- okay but is Ed’s knee brace a victim of the budget cuts this season bc I miss it

- the entire time they were running at each other I kept shrieking “please don’t stab each other. Please don’t stab each other. Boys please drop the swords and don’t accidentally stab each other”

- Zheng having it up to HERE with these useless gays

- NOT NOW ZHENG THEYRE VERBALLY AFFIRMING THEIR CARE FOR EACH OTHER AND ALSO KISSING

- I also cry bc it has seemed to me all season that Auntie and Zheng have a dynamic similar to Izzy and Ed but less deeply toxic; I love that just because it isn’t as toxic, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t still hurt them both. Auntie choosing to listen to Olu and be softer and more open with Zheng, and Zheng returning the favor, is so important to me. Cannot emphasize enough its sweetness. Especially with Zheng thinking she’d lost Auntie.

- “It’s only a suicide plan if we die” STEDE.

- Giggling to myself at the butt shot bc 1. Of course the guy whose butt it is has a whole post about it where he’s a delight, and 2. Fandom has been begging for them to show hole all season, y’all satisfied? ;P

- Why does everyone look so hot in those uniforms though. Why is Ed putting on a tricorn hat so attractive. These are uniforms that represent imperialist cruelty, WHY IS EVERYONE HOT IN THEM

- (It’s the rebellion of it all I think)

- Awfully bold of Ricky to immediately turn on them when he’s still close enough to be shot, but I think it’s his Rich White Boy recklessness.

- Con O’Niell giving the performance of a lifetime to the very end. The subtlety of Izzy not being okay through the entire mad dash to the Revenge, culminating in him leaning on Ed AND Frenchie and the implications of that I EXPLODE

- So. Turns out my final mini theory about that bloody hand screenshot from the trailer was right; it is Izzy’s blood, and it is Jim that Ed’s hand is blocking.

- Izzy giving the apology we have been waiting for all season as a deathbed confession, HECK

- And giving voice to the fact that he loved and needed Blackbeard! And that he knew he was feeding it even though Ed had OUTGROWN it!! And giving Ed closure and release from having to be Blackbeard!!! GUUUUUHHHHH.

- I really didn’t think izzy was going to die until three days ago. Im so sad. It’s thematic and perfect and if someone had to die of course it had to be Izzy and they did him right by that death scene but I CARE MORE NOW. CHEFS KISS STORYTELLING.

- This end bit, to my memory, feels a little scattered and messy; Zheng wanting to work together to get back at Ricky…and then the ship sails off without Ed and Stede. Maybe I need to watch again but I got some whiplash there. Like yeah it’s way more important to the story that Ed and Stede get at the very least a break from piracy before the next season, more in line with the themes and character arcs, but. Idk. Felt sudden still?

- Pete and Lucius marriage ;A; “you may slash each other’s faces” ROACH PLEASE

- YES ED WE SEE YOUR ROMANTIC SIDE EYE

- FRENCHIE IS THE CAPTAIN NOW. Capitalizing on that quiet arc he’s had all season!! I love it!!! And showing that all of the Revenge crew have it in them to be leaders and the best versions of themselves when given an environment where they can. And now they have capable women aboard! Win-win!!

- I need to go dig up my post about the hollowness and toxicity of revenge in this show bc I have more examples to add to it and strengthen my theory

- Ed and Stede about to go through their Anne and Mary arc. Let’s hope they pivot faster than the other two and don’t get stuck in a rut the same way. But I love that they get to try this out together, to find new dreams and things to do together. They deserve that.

- I also respect the showrunners so much for giving us an ending that could be a decent end if Max doesn’t renew for a third. I like being able to hold my two favorite shows next to each other and see that the two extremes of ending in an uncertain place work—for GOmens, a heart-shattering cliffhanger was absolutely the right call. For OFMD, a soft ending that can be expanded on if allowed. I love them both.

- Gonna go rewatch and then rewatch the whole season and then rewatch both seasons, excuse me.

what happened to lars mittank?? pt 1

on june 30th, 2014 lars and four of his friends, (all in their twenties), left northern germany, where they were from, and they went to Bulgaria. all of them stayed at a seaside resort called the golden sands. they were all going to have a week-long vacation together, so they get there and check into their hotel and promptly begin to relax, and everything's fine, theyre going to the clubs, and the beach, and trying the food, everything was going the way they hoped it'd go, until the very end of the trip.

on one of the last days of their trip (july 6th, 2014) lars was at a local bar, watching soccer, and something lars voices his opinion on a team, and the locals that were in the bar were supporting the other team, so they were arguing, and it ended up escalating very quickly into a full blown argument. his friends end up coming in and pulling him out. (important: there was no physical violence in the bar, it was just an altercation that couldve gotten physical but didnt).

later that night, lars and his friends are getting ready to settle down for the night, so they go to mcdonald's, lars didnt want to go in, so he stays outside, and lars' four other friends all go inside the mcdonald's to get food. when they come out of mcdonald's, lars is gone. so theyre sitting and waiting for him and hes nowhere to be found. so they assume that he just went back to the hotel to crash early, they go back to the hotel and hes not there. they kind of just write it off that hes an adult and that he'll show up soon to leave the next morning. so everyone goes to bed, and when they wake up, lars had returned, and he had this really almost bizarre story about why he was missing. he said that this group of men, (that he thought were either russian or local, so bulgarian), had attacked him, and he had been adamant that the people who attacked him had been hired by the people at the bar whom he fought with earlier. and his friends are looking at him like "why did you leave ?" and they were at the mcdonald's at around 12 and he was gone for four, five, maybe six hours. so the time to them didn't make any sense. but lars was back now so they just decided that he had a weird night, and everything was okay now, hes safe, hes with them, everything is fine, and they can just write it off. he was attacked but they were leaving anyway. lars had said that he got hit in the ear when he was attacked by these four guys, and just to be safe they suggested that lars should go see a doctor, and he should just get it looked at before they fly home. so lars goes to a doctor, and he looks at his ear, and it turns out lars has a perforated eardrum (a ruptured eardrum) and at first the doctor recommended surgery, lars didnt want surgery, he didnt want to do it in the area, if he was going to do surgery he was going to do it back home, and instead he takes an antibiotic that the doctor proscribes him which is called cefuroxime. the doctor says that since he was flying home with his friends his perforated eardrum might be problematic, because of the change in air pressure it could potentially make his ear worse. and so the doctor suggested that he doesnt fly home with your friends tonight instead he should delay his flight home for a couple of days to let his ear recover a bit. so lars goes back and he lets his friends know whats going on with his ear and what the doctor said, and their first thought is that we'll stay with you, and we'll all delay our flights, and we'll fly home together in a couple of days. but lars said hey look im gonna be totally fine, you guys take your scheduled flights and ill get a cheap hotel and stay here for a couple of days and i'll make my way home, its not a big deal. so lars and his four friends take off for the airport and his friends go into the airport and fly home to germany, and lars goes to look for a hotel near the airport. and he finds a cheap hotel near the airport called hotel color, this is really where lars' behavior starts becoming totally bizarre. he calls his mom at around midnight and says that she needs to turn off all of his bank cards, and she's confused, shes trying to make sense of what hes saying but there wasnt a good reason for why he was saying this. but then he hangs up, and she skind of left with, what is going on, then at 3am a few hours later, he calls her back, and now hes whispering and hes clearly terrified, and he says "there is a group of men that are trying to attack me, theyre gonna kill me." and he was 100percent convinced of it. sandra (lars' mom) would later say that she wished that she wouldve asked more questions to her son. however, this behavior was so uncharacteristic for him that his mom probably assumed that he was just being off and it'd be fine because she'd be seeing him tomorrow anyway. so after that phonecall at 3am he texts his mom a little after about the antibiotic that he's been prescribed, and hes asking her what it is, hes listing the name (which is cefuroxime) and hes asking her about it like he has no idea what it is a very common antibiotic-

the beach part 5: jack and augustine where the fuck are you guys

I was going to collapse the pendant-acquisition Indiana Jones plot and the lengthy post-pendant discussion unpacking the pendants. But then the post-pendant discussion turned out to be WILDLY long, so here I am cutting it into two parts anyway.

I appreciate the mystic sense of untapped power held within the pendants, which is cool and interesting even if it never necessarily gets resolved – at least the og RP tries, whereas 2.0 never even considers that a near-infinite source of magic energy needs some kind of origin story.

Rim woke up. "It was full of water," He continued as if he had never been asleep. "Like there was a whole ocean in there, and you helped me open a door to it" He babbled on getting confused. "It's kinda hard to explain…" "Odd. At that moment, actually, I felt like the all the ice power I'd had was being pulled out of me." Lupus remarked. "So it doesn't just bestow power." "It takes it," Quartz said suddenly. She had been deep in thought. "That is, one pendant takes power from another."

These are two people who absolutely have not talked their visions out in advance, but it's fun enough to read Magical Theory Quartz that I forgive Past Me for

"But it's funny how it always slowly fills you with energy, as if a charge is being built up and when your there your taking that charge, but it's still very strong," He added realizing how much stronger he felt, even after nearly suffocating. "Well, power replenishes itself after a while," Quartz reasoned. "At some point we were attacked by bandits who found a way to drain Spark's powers, but she regained them pretty soon. Although, in some cases..." She looked thoughtful.

I want to note that, while I'm adding in commas for readability, I am the only 12-year old in this damn roleplay who correctly punctuates quotations. Big win for 2012 katia, and for annoying people (Same thing). I also feel very charmed by the image of Quartz sitting on the beach and thinking about magical theory for half an hour while Rim is unconscious. It's real to ME.

Run thought for a moment. "Like the amulet pendant thingies. I wonder if these are like an Extraneis power, or several" He looked at his one. "When I look closely at mine I can almost hear waves, but maybe theyre the voices of Extranei who put their power into this…" he watched it for a few seconds of drawn out silence ten shook his head. "Never mind that's definently waves" "Hm, good point." Lupus picked his up. "Mine gives out the essence of ice. It's hard to explain, but let's just say that it's a very hot day and the pendant shouldn't be as cold as snow." Quartz sat, deep in thought.

I smiled. Rim goes on to explain the trap system to everyone else, using the phrase "think Indiana Jones" in case we hadn't already picked up that we were meant to think of Indiana Jones. Quartz thinks it's kind of hot when beautiful brunettes navigate trap systems:

Quartz looked at him and Lupus with new respect. "And you survived all that? That's a miracle all by itself." "If we're right, we wouldn't have survived without these pendants," Lupus said grimly. Rim nodded. "Though to be fair, I don't think it was supposed to stay shut like that." He pointed out. He leaned against the rock (He had gathered enough courage to sit on the sand) enjoying the warmth and watching the others. It was good to have a family. "I should hope not," she said.

AW, HE LIKES HIS FRIENDS. I love Quartz and I love her extremely, "i do declare!" approach to having a crush on this silly guy. I want them to kiss and I also want her to lose him and never forget she lost him. Yippeeeeee

Anyway there's a very long discussion regarding the technicalities of magic, which I do not feel like copying and pasting because it gets to be a little much, but I like the speculative tone of it. And look, we manage to finagle the conversation into something plot-relevant!

"I think they replenish all the time while we're simioultaneously using them to live. That is, even of we don't seem to use them, they're being used, and replentished. Some people however, have some left over, enough to manipulate and use. That's us." Quartz explained. She was enjoying this; powers had always interested her. Rim considered this. "That is interesting, so that would explain why using them to much weakens you. But that would mean using them enough would drain them completely, so that you could never use them again" Then he looked at his pendant. "Oh" he said quietly. "I don't think so, I think the only way you can lose them completely is when they stop renewing themselves. I guess that's what almost happened to Chu--" She paused and glanced over at him. "What is it?" He looked up. "That would mean that we replenish our powers after then normal people right? So that means that if a normal person were to get the right one of these…" "Then they'd have powers too?"

I immediately note that I've badly misspelled 'simultaneously' while failing to acknowledge that I also badly misspelled 'replenish.' I think this line of reasoning weakens a little bit in the light of updated lore, in which using magic is a lot more about gaining an instinctive access to the world's ambient magic rather than being about An Internal Reserve Of Magic Within You, though I guess the latter reading is still supported by vincedis and the fact that it works. Anyway, we cut to Monoceros and Shadow briefly, where their interactions just embarrass me regarding my ability to write powers.

Instead I'll stick to Rim and Quartz, and Quartz jumping to the WILDEST "are you mad at me" conclusion possible regarding Rim's theory of Power Acquisition Through Magical Pendants.

Rim nodded. "And I think I've seen one similar to Ky's before, once." "Have you met anyone who can control light besides Ky and..." she paused. "You're not implying that I'm not an authentic Extranei, right?" Rim shook his head quickly. "No-no-no, not you, I would never dream one of you guys would hide something like that, especially you, I'm thinking someone who I haven't seen use powers, but the pendant was the same, and how they dressed was mostly white and gold."

Especially you! What a classic Rimquartz moment. But the secrets of What Rim Meant By That were not meant to be for now because, if there's one thing that can distract Quartz from discussions of magical theory, it's accusations of heterosexuality. Girl how did you even hear that it was a private remark! Beaches can be big!

Ky stuck her feet into the warm sand and looked intently at Rim and Quartz, a small smiling forming on her face. "Looks like those to are hitting it off." She said casually to Lupus. "Excuse me?" Quartz asked indignantly. "Oh, nothing," Ky laughed.

It may have been bad etiquette, but Moopy was offline and Jack was back online, which facilitated this CLASSIC act of sublime gay confusion on Quartz's part. Is it Compulsory Heterosexuality? Is it Heteroerotic Embarrassment? Is she blushing tellingly? Are Rim's feelings curiously hurt? All we know is "Anyway, I'll talk to you later, hi Spark!"

"Anyway, I'll talk to you later," Quartz said, and stood up. "Hi, Spark," she said, sitting down next to her friend.

Honestly I am almost regretful because I think that Quartz ran away from a fruitful conversation with plot and universe implications and back to the safe world of Beach Episode. But such is the push-and-pull of late-stage Extranei, right? We'll hear more about these mysterious pendants, for better or worse. For now, I find my second stopping point. I guess it could have been One Long Post after all, but whatever, it's not like anybody will get MAD at me if I devote multiple sections to the beach.

ok i VERY rarely post oc but i have a killer story.

first, some background

my family has a tiny lil cottage on lake huron in a tiny little town near this other, slightly less tiny little town called east tawas. now, theres not much to do in our tiny little town except for going to the beach. usually, over the summer, my immediate family goes there for about a week and a half and sees other family, enjoys the beach, and partake in certain ‘rainy day’ traditions - things that started out as backup activities when the weather was bad but turned into things we would go out of our way to do every year.

one of these traditions was going to east tawas and visiting some local shops: the ice cream place, the boat pier, and the Ben Franklin shop. this stupid little store was full of a bunch of crap - fabrics, rc cars, boat accessories. and, and! these little balls of marbles with different themes that came in these mesh net bags like this one

i love the texture and the click clack of the marbles!! i got one of these every year, every time we went to the Ben Franklin store.

ANYWAYS, the point: 5 years ago i was 17 and dumb as hell. so, that summer, during that week and a half at my cabin, my family went to the Ben Franklin store (except for my mom, which is it’s own insane ben franklin story). I, as I always did, went straight to the little rack with all the marbles and spent like 5 mins picking out just the right one. SO, i set out to find my siblings and just kinda wander. at some point i go to pick up some other thing - a deck of cards i think - and without thinking, not wanting to set them down, i slipped the marbles in my pocket. i set off again to find my family, but before i could get far this large, oldish guy corners me and asks me to turn out my pockets. i didnt have anything to hide, i showed him the ($7) bag of marbles and went to explain - i was just pickin something up, i was here with my family i could find them, i wasn’t going to steal it, hell i wasn’t even paying for it - but he wasn’t hearing any of it. he asks me to step into like the little area where the cash registers were. i thought he just wanted to talk somewhere not on his stores floor. whatever, fine... right?

nope. he starts LAYING into me, calling me a liar and a thief, yelling at me in front of his wife, 2 employees, and all the customers checking out, demanding someone call the cops. at this point, i start freaking. at the time i was ‘enrolled’ in a ‘school’ called shortridge academy. it was essentially residential care for super mentally ill teens, which, as it so happens, i was. predictably, i start having a panic attack.

so im 17, sobbing and panicking in front of all these strangers. the shop wasn’t this large, and it was somewhat of a commotion. my brother - 12 years old - walks by and sees what’s going on. i tell him to get my father, which he does. my dad barges into this area and is like ??? what is happening? and the guy is still yelling, and im sobbing and struggling to breathe, much less talk. at this point i realize i dont have to be here. this guys not a cop, i didnt steal anything, hell my dad was there - i could just leave.

sooo i go to just walk out of this little area (still a wreck) and he steps infront of me and puts his hand on my chest, all the while yelling (again - in front of a bunch of people). shortly after this, the FUCKING COPS showed up and asked a bunch of stupid questions to me, my dad, this guy, and his wife. eventually one of the cops comes up and is like,,, yeah theyre not gonna press charges.

charges for what? i dunno. hadn’t even left the store. but finally, we get out of that damn back area. we kinda awkwardly shuffled out of the store with everyone staring (including/especially the cops). i tried to say something to this douche as we were leaving, some accusation or condemnation, something witty, something that showed that i wasn’t actually that scared, that helpless. i didn’t get any words out

SO we FINALLY get back to our car, i’m spitting mad, exhausted, and embarrassed. my dad is pissed and anxious, my brother is a wreck, and my grandpa is MAD. the whole family swears the shop off, and we never go back to the Ben Franklin store.

so what? why mention any of this, especially now?

because of the most astonishing, validating, and satisfying plot twist of all time:

my dad sent me this article earlier today and told me to read until the end. now you all probably know where this is going but i did not. i HIGHLY reccomend reading the whole article (https://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw-bay-city/2022/10/east-tawas-councilman-accused-of-trying-to-hire-man-to-kill-2-people-for-inheritance-money.html) because the details make the story even crazier. 

to summarize, tho, this guy that yelled at me was the owner of Ben Franklin who was elected to the east tawas city council in 2016 (i didnt know this at the time) and in 2021 a guy calls him and says ‘hey wheres my inheritance, you’re the executor of the state’ and this guy responds in a normal way: ‘your half brother is contesting the will, if u kill him and his mom ill give u your inheritance and more.’ guy goes to the cops, records a call of him trying to hire him for murder, bing bang boom.

SO, 5 YEARS LATER, HERE HE IS:
