lots of people talk about paul's musical talent re his bass playing, or his songwriting/composing, but soooo rarely does anyone talk about his vocal talent. like. if you played someone nineteen hundred and eighty-five and then like all my loving they flat out wouldn't be able to tell that it's the same person. same with like oh! darling, helter skelter, monkberry moon delight, etc. and when he makes himself sound Exactly like buddy holly of elvis or even john for a song or bit? oh my god.

Do you sketch in pencil or do you just go straight to pen?

thanks for the question! it depends on what i'm drawing!

if i'm just doodling without any plans, i may go straight in with a pen. it's a habit i developed from my school days because i didn't like the feeling of pencil on paper. these are examples of when i just went straight in with pen:

the first two i drew with felt tip pen and ballpoint pen respectively and left the sketch as the lineart. the third one, i sketched with a ballpoint pen, liked it, and decided to clean it up with white out and add cleaner lineart on top.

now, if i know i'm going to draw something complicated or something i know want to clean up later, i'll usually start with a coloured pencil sketch and then... decide if it's a lines first day or colours first day. you'll usually notice some stray sketch lines because i honestly don't care to clean them all up perfectly. Some examples here:

usually, i do lines first because that's what i'm used to. also because getting the lines done gets me closer to a finished drawing (a bad habit of mine is stopping once the lines are done). but recently, i've been being too precious about doing lines, so i decided to switch things up and colour first, which has been helping me to not overthink my lines too much.

sometimes, I'll be reading an atsv fic and come across one word or way of phrasing or encounter, and all of a sudden just know the author is black. on the flipside, sometimes writers will write in a certain way that makes it obvious they're decidedly not 💀

the thing about people setting boundaries with us is that it means I don't have to worry as much about whether they secretly think I'm really annoying or whatever, because if they've set boundaries and told me when stuff I do bothers them in the past, then I know they're willing to tell me if I'm doing something they don't like, and can assume that if they haven't said anything, I'm probably fine

i dont rlly sea dave as a violent yandere??? at least not unless absolutely necessary or rlly rlly desperate. he would try to keep karkat as safe as possible while still maintaining some kind of control over him, ykno? because as much (subconsciously) controlling and manipulative dave is, he's still caring and near submissive otherwise. to drive him to wounding karkat at the point of drawing blood it would have to be reelly serious, somefin like probably hes drunk or out of himself and karkat tries somefin bold or drastic that doesn't give him enough time to think of a rational solution but attack! rarely would he ever use physical strength against karkat out of his own rational will.

so in conclusion id say it depends on the situation, but it would have to be the kind where dave can not control himself? :3
