Celebrity TERF Helen Joyce has finally said the quiet part out loud and revealed - that as those of us who know our queer history have been warning for years at this point - that the TERF argument that 'we just care about women and we just have concerns about sports and trans children' is absolutely a smokescreen and a wedge issue for their wider goals; to prevent all trans people from having any rights or legal accommodations whatsoever.
I can't believe they are so bold as to be talking about it openly in public now. It's cold comfort to be unmistakeably proved right - plenty well-meaning liberals were so happy to just trust TERFs that they really did only have some small concerns while they painstakingly worked in the background to slowly shift the tide of public opinion on trans people from default low knowledge live and let live positive, to low knowledge threat perception negative.
This is quoted from Joyce's speech at anti-trans conference 'Genspect' (Oct. 2024) (archive link to full piece)

People will leave the fundamentalist religious cult they grew up in and then fall for white supremacist grifters who offer the scapegoat of blaming the harm caused by patriarchy on trans people and get suckered into another high control cult with an ideology driven by despair, and call that feminism.

aro culture is being gay. not gay as in gay but gay as in gay under the umbrella of gay. somewhere under the rainbow if you will 🌈
tbh this is one of the main reasons i adore the word queer for the broader community, because even as an identity it's broad enough that you don't feel the need to clarify, in my experience. gay is also good, i just like queer more, y'know?

J. K. Rowling is 2 shots of rum away from "only white people can be women" and I don't think I'm joking.

The fact that the ringleaders of this movement, in the UK at least, are largely powerful women all of a similar age who are used to commanding respect and receiving unconditional deference doesn’t seem like a coincidence.
I would almost stake money on it being the case that the uniting factor behind their turn to the transphobia lobby was individual interactions with individual trans, queer, or otherwise not-deferential-enough people who had pro queer beliefs who exercised their rights in the moment to disagree with, disapprove of, or not unilaterally roll over for them in the first place.
That is, the thought process was “you, individual, disagree with or might prove to be an opposition to me in this moment, and you believe in X set of equalities. Well, in order to prove to you that this is unacceptable, I’m going to turn my ample resources to taking away this thing that you care about, and who cares who gets caught in the backwash.”
For all their claims to be protecting women etc. the actual body of their campaign and opposition has always seemed oddly personal, as if the primary target is getting at, or getting back at, a particular person, outlet, or organization that has personally offended them by not being unquestioningly obedient or worshipful enough to the people that these people believe themselves to be - leaders in their field who deserve to be treated as people of a higher echelon, rather than people with a decent enough talent in one particular area who have managed to make an income and positive reputation from it.
I legitimately think we're on the verge of JKR tweeting that trans people are stalking her and installing cameras in her house and wiretapping her phones. She is not living in reality. I'm not just saying that because I disagree with her bullshit--I'm saying that because her tweets are getting increasingly frantic and unhinged. And whenever she sounds off, she runs to scroll through the replies and slobber all over the people kissing her ass, implying that she's desperate for approval. If those people love her, surely it's only a matter of time before those nasty trans people and their allies realize their mistake and love her again? Just a matter of time before they're waving trans flags that read "JK ROWLING IS MY HERO"?
Then you consider that she already didn't live in reality because she's one of the wealthiest and most famous people in the world and has some genuine concerns about stalkers and privacy, and--yeah, that's not a good combination.

JK Rowling stans about to willingly look away and ignore JK Rowling supporting Trump just because he's going after trans women in sports, meaning JK 'i support womens rights!' is supporting a convicted rapist who is also fucking up women's rights as well but as long as he hurts trans people, JK Rowling drops support for women in a heart beat.

interesting how often I go to a terf's blog to block them & the terfs they reblog from, and between all their "normal" terf and radfem posts they're also reblogging posts about transmasc experiences if not posts directly about fighting "transandrophobia".
obviously many terfs are transphobic towards transmasc and tme trans people and it's not like these communities are particularly safe for tme trans people. like I'm writing this as a tme person who has experienced transphobia from terfs.
but it really goes to show how wrong people are when they claim tme people (trans or cis) are the primary targets of terfs, or even equally as targeted as tma people are. because like I'm sorry but maybe there's a reason why I keep seeing transandrobro blogs pop up in terf's reblogs. maybe the concept of transandrophobia plays directly into the "biological sex-based oppression" terfs believe in. & maybe transmisogyny is real and if you aren't educated on it/fighting it in a purposeful, not vibes-based, way then you're liable to enabling it regardless of your personal labels.

I’ve seen whispers of various accusations, but I’ve just found out from their latest post dump that prismatic bell is a genuine violent Zionist. So I decided to do a bit more digging and it literally took me like 10 secs to find the receipts exposing ableism, racism, terf rhetoric, and other hateful behavior.
I honestly used to reblog a lot bc I feel like when they do make a good point (even broken clocks ig… or they do a really good job masking their bigotry as progressivism and sometimes that results in a few genuinely progressive stances) they’re very well articulated, but a lot of the (extremely well founded) accusations are also for spreading misinformation so I’m not trusting shit anymore. If it is something I know for a fact they’re right about I’ll just do the work to articulate it myself
Anyway I know Im like the last person to know about this but sorry to anyone who knew and was subjected to them because of me and here’s a formal warning to anyone who still wasn’t aware of who they really are

Just to not not comment on it -
Horrified and appalled on behalf of the athletes concerned, but unsurprised that JK Rowling and her friends have shifted down the track to now accusing cis women that aren't feminine 'enough' for their perception of being trans women or AMAB, even in the face of all logical sense (one comes from a country where even being gay or lesbian is verboten, let alone openly trans) or with any sense that these are real people who your words will *really* endanger.
This was always going to be the route she would end up corraling herself down; meeting many hallmarks of being in a cult; she and her friends alone know a 'secret', they have 'special knowledge' to 'solve a mystery'. She's not living in reality anymore. Someone who was living in reality who genuinely suspected a stranger of being trans and cheating at sport would do some research and reach a logical conclusion based on that - they wouldn't just make a completely unfounded accusation.
It hasn't passed me by that these are women of color too. That's another aspect of these Terfs exiling themselves from the general public. Not unlike incels for another example, they've already established an implicit in-group standard that informs and underlies their rhetoric - in dog whistles for now, but only until they've shifted the dial and feel safe to come out with it openly - or until one of them slips up and says something that was meant to stay in the shadows of implication and only suggested threat. That standard may have been wider at first, but it's only going to narrow - it already is.
Personally, I wouldn't want to be Alison Bailey or Kathleen Stock when the wealthy white straight women with the most power in the group decide that lesbians or Black women with short hair who don't wear makeup don't, in fact, have just as equal a claim to womanhood as they themselves do, and that they may in fact be 'spies for the enemy' or some other ridiculous claim and so should be excluded - and targeted - just like all the other categories of women or femmes they've already written off.

Remember kids, radfems aren’t feminists, they’re either Christian fundamentalists roleplaying a facade of second wave gender essentialism or idiots who bought their bullshit and don’t realize their only political allies are white supremacists.

How the hell did we go from "men and women are equal as human beings therefore we should be treated equally and we deserve equal opportunities" to "trans people are a danger to society".

I’m scared for the kids who might unknowingly buy the Harry Potter game or the books or the movies without knowing what’s going on. We need to ACTUALLY ban this franchise. Burn copies in stores. Smash your friend’s computer if you have to. I don’t know why we’re simply telling people to “read other books” and not going full scorched earth. There’s children out there who could be entrapped into this thing and not know until it’s too late…(It’s not censorship because it’s actually bad. Only minorities should be allowed to censor things because we know best.)

Nice try, buddy.

Stumbled down a Tumblr-reposts rabbit hole on Pinterest and I’ve got to say…not a fan of how it only took a few clicks to start getting straight up SWERF and borderline TERF content.
