FINALLY catching up with arcane s2 and watching episode 6 as someone who grew up in a cult is an experience. had to pause the episode almost immediately when i saw a bunch of people walking around in all white not wearing shoes it was too fucking real. what is it with cults and making everyone wear all white and no shoes. i stg i could find my parents and mini-me in the background of one of these shots if i really tried.

I wish Stephenie Meyer had the sense to make Caius originally from Sparta since that makes the most sense in my head (but no, god forbid she give any of the Volturi a time period in history that's well documented to allow for character building), even if it would make him chronologically the youngest of the three kings rather than the oldest. He just reads like a hot headed Spartan general to me, and it'd better explain his behaviors in the books.

That and I want to somewhat feasably be able to say I want to semi-seriously crack-ship him with Kratos. I wanna say that those two had something going on in the Spartan barracks with my full chest and just watch the world burn behind me.

i'm gonna be fr, red one was pretty fun lol. there's a lot to say about it but i'll just put my additional thoughts in the tags. look it wasn't bad but not great either. a lot of the scenes felt dry and the jokes didn't land well, but i liked it, especially with the aesthetics.

altho thanks to gryla i now have "IS IT A CHARCOAL GRYLA OR A PROPANE GRYLA" in my head lmao. (yes and also i think there's gonna be a gorilla)

So I'm slowly inching my way through the Studio Ghibli Cinematic Universe, (Ghiblimatic Universe if you will,) and I watched My Neighbour Totoro the other day.

Fun movie! But it left me with questions. Questions the internet would rather not deduce the answer to, in favour of forming the ol' DEATH OMEN hivemind.

So I've decided to do it myself. This has nothing to do with TF2, and for that I apologise to the beloved mutuals.

Firstly,

WHAT THE FUCK ARE THESE THINGS.

So like. Yeah, they look like Mini TOTOROs and are also forest spirits, but as far as I know they don't even get names.

My theory is as follows: THEY ARE ALSO TOTOROS. Like, baby TOTOROs. They haven't grown to full size yet, but they'll get there.

Totoros are like pokemon evolutions! They come in three types: RO (Babey), TORO (Bigger), and the fully grown TOTORO. Hard to believe, but even our massive and moderately menacing TOTORO was once a teensy fluffy RO.

The cycle oscillates like so: a litter of white ROs is born after a fully grown TOTORO reproduces asexually. A lot of the ROs scatter, either to just buzz around the woods in clusters, or to evolve into Soot Gremlins, but one lucky little fuzzball remains with the pack.

The pack, of course, including the matured TORO. The TORO happens when the RO grows a bit older. It begins to grow proper limbs and coloured fur, and behaves like an older sibling to the RO. It likes to collect tree seeds! It makes it feel responsible.

Eventually, the TORO grows further, and becomes THE TOTORO. Part of the TOTOROing process involves REPRODUCING ASEXUALLY and creating more ROs. Thus, the cycle spins on.

Maybe Satsuki and Mei's parents met our TOTORO when they were young, back when he was a TORO or even a baby RO. Maybe the singular girl on the movie poster is their mother, meeting the TOTORO that preceded our TOTORO.

I am getting tired of typing TOTORO in all caps so it's a good thing I haven't actually come up with any other theories yet. When I do I will probably post them here. Good morrow.
