The Season of Nightingales

The first of many weekly chapter updates!

Summary of Work:

In this nice and accurate prophecy of what might emerge after affection’s seed is planted with a kiss, the Second Coming looms large. Aziraphale must keep his vow to fix Heaven before it’s too late, without asking the impossible from Crowley. As the effort is complicated by unexpected friends, an ex-Inspector Constable, a guileful Metatron, and a Heavenly floor full of the blessed dead — Aziraphale and Crowley find navigating their relationship is not mutually exclusive from saving the world from Armageddon.

Chapter 15 - The Book of Life

Chapter Excerpt:

“Raquel,” said Aziraphale, a bit unsteadily, “What…”

“The Book of Life,” she explained from a few paces ahead of him. “The Blessed Dead are about ten floors beneath us, the lift here will take us there. My office is…” she trailed off, seeing his distraction. “I’ll leave you to it.”

“Yes,” he said, without glancing back. “Thank you. I can make my own way from here.”

Distracted by this unexpected calling, he did not notice Raquel loitering beside the open lift, watching with a sort of baffled wonder as the Supreme Archangel began to actively approach the sacred text.

Aziraphale’s eyes, aimed in reverence down the great hall, glittered with its reflection. Subtle gilding on the filigree of the upper arches glinted with light from indefinable sources. The clouded path was warm to the touch as he raised his hand into it. In a trance, as if he were being called toward the other end by a voiceless siren, he stepped forward.

Shax can finally deliver Aziraphale's letter to Crowley, as it is now signed by the Supreme Archangel himself!

The wonderful Michael Sheen signed the letter that is part of my "Crowley's mail" batch. To make sure it can be delivered to Crowley, he added "Aziraphale" underneath the signature, which made me so happy I almost melted on the spot.

As a gift, I gave him the South Downs National Park letter addressed to both Crowley and Aziraphale.

We also did a photoshoot in the morning and I was so happy that he decided to wear THAT jacket because I absolutely love it. I hope someone told him how awesome that jacket is. I didn't manage because my brain shortcircuited after he told me "You look wonderful!" in reaction to my cosplay. I should have told him "You too, Michael! You also look wonderful in that jacket!"

Yesterday was absolutely amazing, Michael Sheen is not just the Welsh national treasure but a global treasure and we have to protect him at all cost. What a wonderful man!
