thinking about how the best case scenario that elphaba can imagine in the wizard and i is that finally someone will come along who will be able to change everything about her. even in her wildest dreams, she views that as her best option.

and then.

along comes galinda. who - after spending an entire night attempting to give her a makeover - settles on: ‘actually, you’re perfect just the way you are. i wouldn’t change a thing. except maybe to tuck a little piece of myself in with you, just there.’

and i just think that’s neat.

a beautiful man with long black hair dressed in all white sat next to me on the train back from denmark. i complimented his outfit, and he asked me where the train was going. after i told him, he then pointed at my shirt which says 'catastrophe' and said "oh i know a lot about those." and laughed uproariously.

and then he asked me "do you know about norse mythology?" and i said yes a bit because i read the edda a decade ago, and he said "i met fenrir in denmark" and i said that's probably not good if fenrir is walking around. and he said "oh don't worry about it, vithar will take care of it" and i replied oh but that's ragnarøk, that's still pretty bad for us mortals is it not? and he grinned at me like i said something incredibly funny. and then he ignored me for the rest of the train ride?

Strange aeons was teaching a class about cat food. I remember most of the class remarkably well, but the one line that will not leave my mind is “ham is a type of domesticated politician that we hunt for sport”.

Chris: The Strangeness is a low budget horror film about a cave expedition that finds a monster, cheap, bad acting, and dark scenes in which you can’t see much, but you get a D&D “roper” monster and stop motion animation, so Watch: On Subscription Service.

Richie: I thought it was entertaining and fun, a very dark film that gave me flashbacks of The Outwaters, nice music, I could see this as a double feature with the Deadly Spawns, Watch: On Subscription Service.
