McLoon's Home for Wayward Cats: CC-Free Home Business

Victorian-ish home based on the design from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends! Of course I shrunk & squished it though, to fit it into my beloved 20x20 lot size. And I only referenced the exterior, I took my own liberties for the interior layout.

The idea is similar to my cat cafe lot, where a sim runs a home business using the Electrono-Ticket Machine (there are 2 directly out front) and serves customers dessert for free (otherwise they won't eat on the lot like you would in real life). The open/close sign is in the entryway/foyer.

Alternatively, as the name might imply, you could run it as an animal shelter type thing in the vein of the lot that @antisocialbunnysims made. This would involve using the "Always Accept Pet" mod by Squinge - However, Insimenator is currently down, and I didn't find anywhere else to download that mod from (the Wayback Machine did not have the file itself archived, only the forum post), so... Hopefully Insimenator comes back? lol

There are gates and/or doors in between most things you'd want to block either pets or customers from going into or out of (bedrooms, yard area, etc.).

On the second floor, there are 2 rooms that have food bowls/cat condos/litterboxes, for more spaces like one would have in an animal shelter. I originally made them as bedrooms, but I had more cats than sims so I changed it. You could easily change it back though, depending what ratio of sims versus pets you have lol

Rosewood Place | Sims 2 Residential Lot Download

Here is another lot with a country farmhouse/Victorian feel. It features a large wrap-around porch, and a small fishing pond. It has 2+ bedrooms and 2 baths and is built on a 3x3 lot. Cost: §91,068

This home started out a more modern looking build for one of my kids' families who was more on the techie side. All the mechanical workbench items? This lot had them.

But after changing the roof up a little and adding that wrap-around porch the build took on a decidedly country farmhouse feel, so I went with it. 😂 Almost all of the furniture has been removed and there's not a robotic item in site.

It's now got a nice little pond in the back as opposed to a mean little pond...?🤷‍♀️, and a patio for enjoying outdoor dining on summer days.

Here's a view of the floor plan:

1st Floor: Clockwise from bottom left: living room, kitchen, mudroom/laundry room, garage, entryway, dining area, and bathroom.

2nd Floor: Clockwise from bottom left: open to living room below, master bedroom, bathroom, office/study/rec room/bedroom #1, and tiny bedroom #2. Optional modification: You could fill in the upstairs space that's open to the living room below, turn half of the kids bedroom into a hallway and half into another bathroom and have a larger bedroom if you wanted.

Here's one "inside" picture of the kitchen. I had fun decorating it a little, but you don't have to keep it this way.

After I went to take pictures of this lot I realized that I now have 3 3x3 lots with "rose" in the name. 🤦‍♀️I must find another flower to name these lots after! Maybe "Daisy Drive" or "Poppy Place", or "Daylily Lane" will be next someone please stop me? 🤣🤭

I’ve run this home through the Lot Compressor so any random references to sims that aren’t there should be removed. I have also run this lot through the Lot Cleaner to remove any bits of buggy code. This lot comes with a shiny custom thumbnail so it has even more curb appeal in your Lots and Houses bin! 😄

This home only has 2 pieces of CC, which you may already have in your game. These can easily be replaced or omitted if you don’t want them though.

Mortia-Charity Paladin's Vocational Controller Recolor

I just finished my teaching project and I feel like giving this version of Paladin Vocational Controller 2000 teaching era. It looks a bit like a magazine but somehow textbook covers these days look like one (having a large figure or photo that represents its content in the middle).

I changed the texture of the mesh. It's kind of hard for me to change the inside of the notebook for every skill in the recolored book, so I made it general for every skill taught on the podium.

Each recolor on the podium book relates to Maxis' characters who are destined to have that badge: For example Julien Cook for cooking and Elizabeth Aspir for sewing.

I personally think that the woods are a bit rustic and too medieval for my liking, so I changed the texture of the wood to give it a 2000 classroom vibe.

Different from Paladin's Controller, Mortia-Charity already covered every basic skill and badge skill for the teaching mod. I have to say this mod is pretty nice for simmers who desperately want a super employee ^^. Meshes are already included in the file. I changed the texture of the Mesh so if you want my recolor I suggest replacing the original mesh with mine.

CC-Free Barber Shop Home Business

Umm yeah idk, I wanted to make this so I did. lol

Tiny 1x1 lot with the 1st floor set up as a hair salon business (2 salon chairs, breakroom with mini fridge & microwave, employee/customer bathroom). The 2nd floor is the living space, but obviously it's tiny so it's just a studio.

Sims get to the 2nd floor from outside, there's a staircase on either side of the building. The business open/close sign is on the 1st floor outside, in front of the right-hand staircase.

NOTE: I used Lot Adjuster to make the walls as close to the edges as I did. Originally it was a 3x3 lot before I shrunk it. idk if that will affect anything (it shouldn't), but just in case it does I thought I should mention it.

Rockwell Drive | Sims 2 Residential Lot Download

The Rockwell Drive house features quoining accents to give interest to the large swaths of red brick. It's built on a 3x3 lot and has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths.

It also has beautiful garden spaces, as well as a pool because swimming to gain body skill is so much more fun than running on the treadmill for 10 hours. Let's take a short tour and I'll tell you more about how this lot came about because you have nothing better to do with your time. Jump to the bottom of this post if you want to download it into your game. 😊

Here's what the backyard looks like:

Several years BC (before children) I found it entertaining to set up a household of Sims (Sims 1 was the only game out at the time) and just watch them interact without interfering. It was quite funny, until the kitchen caught on fire, and then it wasn't. 😧 I hate letting my sims have bad experiences, especially when I could intervene and stop them (now if only that could be the case with real life kids as they grow up)!

I decided to try this again with the Sims 2, but armed with several hacks that make the characters a little smarter when it comes to fires and a little more motivated to go to work (further reducing the chance of fires). It was much more successful and other than the sims hogging the computer (until I removed it) didn't give me near as many grey hairs. 😂

This was the house that that family lived in.

Back then it looked a bit different, but it's been freshly remodeled inside, and given some colorful wall treatments to make up for the seas of red brick on the exterior. Please feel free to redecorate it to fit your sim family's needs though.

1916 Sterling House Catalog-The Senator:

So, i´ve decided to finish some things before building new stuff. I guess i´m starting with this lovely simple yet elegant foursquare.

Based on a floorplan from the 1916 Sterling House catalog, i´ve build this small but comfortable house for a small family. It is filled with original architectural features, modern plumbing, heating/AC, a spacious backyard,fully build basement and a parkingspot for a car.

Read this before installing:

If u have trouble placing this lot, use the neighborhood terrain cheat that catherintcjd shows how to use in the pics of this MTS post. If you use shaders like dreadpirate's no blue snow, remove them first or you might not be able to see the green square cursor that you use to adjust the terrain. This beach lot terrain was slightly adjusted to fit my map, so if it doesn't place easily in your hood you're gonna have to do this im sorry.

Beach terrain adjustments under the water revert when you share a lot, for this reason the floating garden underneath the glass floor is a bit jankier but you can move things around if you want. The koi fish are on omsp’s so you might want to use an omsp controller to make them visible if you want to move them around. In my version of the houseboat there is the green neon maxis disc lamp that i have underwater on a backwards omsp so it points up at the glass floor. I removed it in this version b/c since the terrain reverted, the light was trapped way under the terrain but still filling the house with a green glow, so i deleted it since it would be a bit tricky for others to remove without having to use CFE.

Snow comes through the hot tub roof onto the bed lmao just know that this happens. You can use simnopke’s time and weather controller to stop snow or stop snow accumulation. I’m not sure if this problem will stop if the hot tub is removed, haven’t tried it. Not sure if rain comes through, i assume it does butttt i haven't noticed. 😇

CC is included, there are two subfolders in the zip: one is maxis recolors and one is meshes or recolors that I either couldn't/forgot to place on the lot before packaging. ** You NEED to install Numenor's no cutaway wall if you do not already have it, otherwise walls will be missing.**

Pleasant House

While playing in Pleasantview I decided to build a classic american home and for reference took home from Pleasantville movie. I tried to use less cc than I usually do, so there's not a lot of stuff inside, and you can furnish it however you want.
