listen I- *puts my head in my hand* she is. the loneliest woman in the world. part of her is still a little girl reliving that first loss on a neverending loop. it's echoed through every single meaningful relationship in her life. she's trapped in a cycle. for a while it was self-made: drugs and leaving and running away. but it isn't her fault it's not her fault it is never her fault that she's left again and again and it isn't anyone's fault in particular it just happens. the cycle repeats, again and again and again. someone dies or someone leaves or something breaks and she always loses. there's no winning. there's only ever more living to do. *screams into my hands*

this is random and mildly embarrassing but does anyone watch Grey's Anatomy here?
#wtf is going on anymore???#like. is anyone going to even acknowledge the fact that Katherin has been abusing her power over so many people?????#i know Richard has his own demons to face but... is he not going to do anything???#why is everyone pretending like the whole thing wasn't her fault to begin with#like is this how medical research work irl?#i feel like new discoveries (especially for illnessed that we have no cure for yet) are bound to contradict some old ones? its natural#i cannot fathom that she wanted to pull the plug on meredith's research bc some old rich dudes get butt hurt over the results#ISN'T THAT HOW IT WORKS?????#IF THE OLD FINDINGS WERE EFFECTIVE A CURE WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND BY NOW WOULDN'T IT HAVE????#you're just mad that you were wrong and meredith was right to pursue the research. YOU FORCED HER TO GO BEHIND UR BACK.#ANYWAY#thats not the only thing im mad abt#i honestly cannot care less about these new relationships that spawn left and right. aren't the writers tired of this same BS repeating?#I still really like the medical plotlines and stuff (even the friendships are interesting) but the romances... please stop#the last romance I cared about was levi and niko and that ended so disappointingly... and the way it was handled on s20...tf was that#jo and link. fine. meredith and nick. fine.#but GAWD the lucas and simone romance is SO ANNOYINGGGG. they tried so hard to make them aprilxjackson 2.0 but failed#they don't have any chemistry and every decision they make and everything they do is dumb af#i don't care abt kwan and jules. idc abt mika and the chief resident girl. idc abt any of it. im tired.#and im still mad abt the ep last season where niko came to the hospital and gave levi a whole speech abt how he's found the 'one'#like. what did we achieve there? what was the point? levi is better than me bc i wouldve spat in his face#i almost forgot. whatever is going on with ndugu and the new doc who clearly had a thing with amelia....?#anway again. for real this time#no actually im not done complaining abt how dumb and petty katherine is. what do u mean he fired Hant and Baily OUT OF SPITE?????#BYE#niki screaming into the void

I have an idea you can use, maybe Derek broke up with Meredith after being together for like two months, after one month he starts liking the reader (can the reader be the same level as him? Not an intern) and after one month of Derek trying he and the reader start dating and one day all the interns find them cuddling (can the reader be little spoon pls) and they are in shock and kinda confused
Im sorry if it's a bad idea, I just want a story with him

A/N: sooo. This person requested this over two years ago and I felt bad….this is once every blue moon lol
TW: Fluff and bad grammar :)
Set in Season 4 when Meredith and Derek Broke up
It has been a few months since I got the job as The New Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery. You had a job as a Mass Gen as a regular attending, but the Chief of Surgery, Richard Webber, offered you the job and you decided to take the job right away. You liked Seattle even though the constant rain annoyed the hell out of you. Over time you manage to make a few friends. It's mostly the heads of the surgical department and a few residents like Bailey and Callie.
You just finished your shift and decided to hang out at Joe’s, when you got there you sat down at the bar at the far end. When you ordered your usual drink you turned to the left and saw Derek Shepherd, the head of neurosurgery, was drinking alone. You decided to have some small talk since you didn't know him that well. You knew of him, like how his nickname is McDreamy and he had a previous relationship with one of the 1st years.
You went over to sit next to him and asked, Hey, how are you doing?”
He turned to look at you and was surprised I was talking to him. He answered, “You're doing well, yourself.”
You nodded in response. Joe gave you your drink and the two of you started to have some small talk. It was mostly regarding other interests, what's your favorite sports team, where you go to college, all that stuff.
Then you decided to ask something that would be a little awkward to answer.
“So… what's the deal with you and that one resident?” you asked. You notice that he and Meredith steal glances every chance they get.
He looked at you debating whether or not to answer, “We had a relationship when she was in the 1st year” He paused “We tried to work it out but unfortunately, we couldn’t.”
“Sorry about that, it must have been hard,” you said with sincerity.
He looked down at his drink and replied, “Yeah…..yeah it was, but I'm starting to move on.”
A part of you was relieved that he was getting over the heartbreak that he is experiencing but another part of you made you feel bad for the dude and wondered what you do to help.
Ever since that night at Joe’s, you and Derek’s friendship has grown even more. You guys talk whenever you have a break. It was a good friendship, a little brotherhood friendship. It was going great until your feelings towards Derek grew to the point where you started to grow romantic feelings. But you decided to act against it for two reasons. 1) you didn't know if he wasn't straight and 2) you were pretty sure he was still hung up with the 2-year resident. You decided to compress those feelings because you didn't want to mess up your newfound friendship with Derek.
Then one day you and Derek were both alone changing in the attending room after a very long day of back-to-back surgeries. He was leaning against the locker right to yours while you were just finished changing into your regular clothing. You were gonna ask if you wanted to head to Joe's to watch the game. But Derek beat you to the question but the difference was that he asked you something that completely shocked you.
“Go out with me tomorrow night,” Derek said so subtly.
You slammed the locker door hard and stared into his blue eyes. Your own eyes widened at the question. You normally don't judge a book by its cover, but you would have never thought he was into dudes
“ Are you playing a trick with me or is this some kind of joke?” you asked. You were very wary about the guys you dated because most of the guys you've dated were assholes or straight dudes trying to get a laugh at you.
Derek said quickly “I'm not!!!...it's just you for the past month you were by my side with a lot of you… and I really, REALLY, think we have a connection.”
As he said that his words started to slow down and started to seem more sincere. You ask him whether or not he was straight. You assumed he was Bi or Pan at least considering he had an ex-wife and his last relationship was Meredith. He explained that he’s bisexual and that he had two boyfriends before he started dating Addison.
You were still hesitant because your last relationship ended with your boyfriend cheating on you with his co-worker. He could tell by your facial expressions that you were very hesitant. He took your hand looked into your eyes and said this
“I promise I'm not gonna be like the other guy, if you want to take things slow that's fine,  all that I'm asking for is one dinner, and that's it.”
You could tell that he was being genuine, again you were a little hesitant. But then again he wasn’t like the other dude. Derek is kind, smart, and charismatic, all of the great qualities in a man that you were into.
So you looked into his dreamy eyes and said, “Yes, I would love to.”
2 months later.
It was a long day In the OR and you wanted to lie down. You went to the call room to get some shut cause you didn't have the energy to drive. You took off your tennis shoes and laid down on the bottom bunk facing the wall. As you are about to shut your eyes you hear the door open and see a bright light illuminated on the wall.
You turned your back to whoever just opened the door and saw Derek who looked just as tired as you are. He shut the door behind him and walked over to you. He lay down next and put his arm around your body holding you in a firm grip never letting you go.
You murmured, “How was your craniotomy on that peds patient?”
Derek also replied with a murmur” It went great, how did your heart transplant go?”
Seconds passed by without a response. Next thing you know, Derek heard the gentle sound of your snoring. Chuckling quietly to himself, he leaned in and placed a tender kiss on your forehead. Gradually, he too began to drift off to sleep.
THIRD PERSON POV
An hour passed, and the door opened revealing Alex who needed some shut-eye from a surgery he just assisted on. As he was about to select a bed, he paused, noticing Shepherd cuddling with the new cardio attending. His eyes widened in suspicion, suspecting a romantic relationship between the two. Soon after, Lexi and a few other interns entered, their attention immediately drawn to the scene before them. While some were taken aback, Lexi found the sight incredibly endearing.

Drabble, japril, season 8, based on a silly idea that keeps popping up every time I rewatch this scene.
___
Zola Shepherd is one adorable baby.
April’s living with her and her parents, so she has a front-row seat to all things Zola, but as she watches Meredith enters the room with the little girl in her arms for her first birthday party, she’s reminded of how cute the little girl can be.
“Hey, girl!”
“Look who didn’t just wake up, uh?”
Next to her, Jackson seems under the little girl’s spell too, and it’s a sweet thing to witness. It’s not a surprise, because even Alex softens when she’s around, but she still enjoys watching her best friend interact with their friend’s daughter.
“Look at you! You look so beautiful, look at that bow!”
She would gladly spend her entire evening playing with Zola (parties, even for a child’s birthday, aren’t completely her scene). But Meredith, having spotted Dr. Webber, is quick to move, and April is left with a kind of longing she mostly gets after phone calls with her mother (Karen Kepner is, not surprisingly, a big proponent of having as many grandchildren as possible). Maybe that’s why she shakes her head and speaks before she can think.
“Uuugh, I want one.”
“Not tonight, honey, I’m tired.”
Jackson looks way too proud of his stupid joke, so she swats him.
“Hey!”
“You’re watching too many Friends re-runs.”
“It’s because Zola kept everyone up all night last week when she was teething. We don’t all sleep with earplugs, like someone.”
“You would, if your room was next to Alex’s, which is another reason I need to move. And I wouldn’t wear them if I was taking care of a child.”
“I would. I need my beauty sleep.”
She resists the urge to swat him again, because he’s being impossible today, but opts to pick up on what he just said, because they’ve never really discussed this topic before.
“Hey, you want children in the future?”
“One day, maybe. Though I don’t know how I’d fare as a dad.”
Jackson complains all the time about his mother (April doesn’t know why, because she still mourns the day she had to unfriend her on Facebook, per her best friend’s forceful request), but he never talks about his father. Up until a drunken night a few months ago, where he mentioned briefly that his father left them and the Avery legacy, April was not even sure if the man was still alive, and there never seemed to be a good moment to ask. She doesn’t need to know his whole family history to give her opinion on that subject, though.
“What? You’d be brilliant. Zola adores you, and all the kids you treat in peds love you. Well, their moms do, too. But mostly the kids. You know how to talk to them without patronizing them.”
Jackson shrugs, a shrug that frustrates her, because God forbid Jackson Avery should accept a genuine compliment about himself. He acts like she’s just said these things to flatter him and not because she genuinely meant what she said.
“You want kids too, right?”
Redirecting the conversation is another classic Avery move, but she lets it slide for now, because she doesn’t want to argue with him, not when they’re at a party and he seems so relaxed.
“Absolutely. Though, for that, you kind of need to find a partner first, and it’s not like I have a vast array of choice here.”
He opens his mouth to answer, but she cuts him off.
“Please tell me you’re not about to say something cliché like any guy would be lucky to have me. Or suggest that we should do one of these pacts when if we’re both single by the time we’re 33, we have a baby together.”
He chuckles.
“I wasn’t, but hey, it worked for Sloan and Torres. Also, not to brag, but with our genes combined? That kid would be so good-looking. And hella smart.”
April smiles at his assessment, and adds her own input.
“And… So incredibly stubborn.”
She can’t help but chuckle, trying to imagine a baby Jackson refusing to do what is asked, and a weird, warm feeling spreads through her body.
“And bossy.”
“Hey!”
“What? It’s a good quality. When not aimed at me. Helped you become Chief resident.”
“Yeah, because Averys aren’t bossy at all. Have you met your mother?”
He tilts his head and raises his eyebrows, an acknowledgment that the Kepner genes wouldn’t be entirely to blame for this, and it makes her think of something else.
“Your mom would so buy them their first doctor coat on their first birthday.”
“First birthday? Try at birth. Their spot at Mass Gen would be reserved from the first sonogram. Surgery specialty chosen at 2. Also, you’re one to talk. Your parents would buy them a pony.”
“No they wouldn't! Well, first a cat. Then a dog.”
“And then…?”
“Okay, probably a pony.”
They both stay silent, contemplating a life with tiny tornadoes running everywhere, bolstered by extravagant gifts given by two very different, but equally frightening, sets of grandparents, and she can actually fell herself shudder.
“... Yeah, we can never have kids together.”
“Right? I’m going to make an appointment for a vasectomy right away.”
He laughs when she rolls her eyes, and goes to refill his drink, still chuckling.
She’s always thought of children as an abstract matter, something she definitely wants (two boys, one girl, with a boy first, then the girl, and a little brother to round them up), but has never actually truly pictured, because it felt so far away in her future, a “someday” thing she has never been close to reaching. But for a few seconds, she lets herself smile at the idea of a mischievous, curious toddler with curly hair and green eyes, full of life and quick-witted, a sight so real she could almost see it. A few more seconds, and she shakes her head, chasing the vision away, and follows Jackson on a quest to find something to drink.

Tell us everything about the parent trap au immediately please please please
to give u an insanely quick rundown with a wip art i have:
aziraphale as elizabeth. wedding dress designer under his pen name A.Z. Fell. (hes an artist as confirmed in s2 and the whole "drawing on napkins" thing elizabeth would do appeals to me immensely)
crowley as nick. owns a vineyard. I NEED HIM TO OWN A VINEYARD SO BAD. shoutout to Old Vines on ao3 for changing me in a fundamental way. he makes wines and he tends to the vines and he is so passionate about it to an abusurdist degree. he yells at his vines when they arent growing right. you already knowwww.
when they meet for the first time, they don’t meet on a boat like in the movie, they actually meet at a wedding party :J crowley was a wine collector, just starting out. he loved offering aziraphale samplings of his most vintage collection out of impulse. (he likes seeing the way aziraphale savors them) (he’s besotted) Wants to own his own vineyard one day. aziraphale, on the other hand, has dreams of becoming a fashion designer of sorts, always drawing ideas on any scraps of paper he can find. his designs are very old fashioned, but thats like… part of the appeal. his work very much reflects who he is, and the people who flock to it understand that.
they enter this kind of… whirlwind relationship, they get married, and then eventually adopt two golden haired blue eyed baby boys. twins. :J warlock and adam.
they break things off because aziraphale leaves... alluding to their recent breakup in season two, the reason he left was because "we both clearly had very different ideas on where our lives were going. so. i packed up and left." (parallel s2 divorce 😋 they don’t know how to talk to each other) (aziraphale throws a book at his head after this argument, like the hairdryer in the movie LOL. it was pride and prejudice. crowley still has it.)
aziraphale leaves with adam. warlock is left with crowley. crowley eventually leaves London because he finds he cant stand being anywhere near Aziraphale (hes just irresistible in that way), and he goes to California where he finally fulfills his dream of owning a vineyard. a nice one on Napa, Northern California.
Aziraphale’s wedding dresses become more and more well known, Adam grows well-adjusted. Same kid you know from the show and book, natural born leader, a good head on his shoulders. (Aziraphale has no idea why Adam is like that, but he is so proud)
Crowley’s vineyard (The Garden Of Eden) grows and grows… Warlock is spoiled rotten, but he does love actually working at the vineyard with Crowley to and he and Crowley have a really good relationship…
Eventually the kids go to a summer camp together in London (i dont know if they . do this in the UK, but suspend your disbelief if you will) Adam meets The Them there, then meets Warlock after a nutty fencing thing, they kind of hate each other at first and the rest is history :J
side characters UM. LOL. idk……. i mean i kind of know but not really? theres just so many possibilities that make the rounds in my head. chessy could be anathema OR nina (ive had people suggest eric too?) and martin could be newt OR maggie (ive also had people suggest muriel????) gestures vaguely.
as for meredith…….erm…………🤷‍♂️ ive had everything under the sun suggested to me and i still……have no idea. LOL. gabriel, lucifer, shaX, FURFUR, THE WIFE FROM THE NON-SPOILER SPOILERS. I DONT KNOW. IT ALL FEELS WRONG. its hard to come up with this role in particular when these gay bitches literally only have eyes for each other. always. forever. u know. i think lucy is like. the classic answer. but idfk.
ask me about . more things if u want. this is consuming my every thought.
anyways the cover im working on for. for something:

forgive me if this doesn’t make any sense but… if the “one day” that “something changed” is supposed to be jack being born, then idk if i like the implication that, before then, cas had just always felt lost and purposeless. are we talking since he left heaven, all the way back in s4? like idk but i’d always thought it was pretty clear that even when cas is unsure and making mistakes and misguided, even when he feels lost at times, starting in s4 when he began to help dean, cas had chosen his purpose to be protecting humanity and protecting his family. and he never really stopped trying to do that, that desire never really gets lost, even if he takes a wrong turn at times ie s6. so like that quote is confusing to me cause imo cas’s vision from jack should have just reaffirmed his desire to protect humanity, but the quote implies that he had found a new feeling of purpose with jack? what purpose, if not loving and protecting humanity? which imo was always there?!?
sorry for the word jumble, but your comments on that quote, a quote i’d not really paid much attention to in the past tbh lol, got me thinking 😅
this makes complete sense!!! and you definitely got my brain wheels turning so thank you! no yeah absolutely, it's weird, and the more i think about it the weirder it gets. here is the dialogue we're referencing, btw. i'll give the benefit of the doubt here and say: there are a lot of days cas could be referring to. it could be the day of lucifer rising, for example, or the day he was resurrected from purgatory, or the day he was resurrected from the empty. it could be any number of days. i cannot conclusively state that any one day is "the day."
but here's what led me to assume it was a jack-related day: that since jack has been back, cas has been hitting the "jack's destiny" talking points hard, and that he ends the speech with "i found a family, and i became a father. and in that, i rediscovered my faith. i rediscovered who i am."
on jack's destiny: here are the examples i can find from s15, all from 15x12. there aren't any additional discussions involving cas about jack's destiny in 15x11, 15x13, or 15x14.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so this is what immediately sprang to my mind when i heard cas talk about purpose. that in season 15, at this point, cas believes his purpose is to help jack fulfill his destiny. he is connecting his worth to jack's "success" in terms of jack doing what he's "supposed" to do. he has faith in jack. he has faith jack will be good for the world. without jack he is lost.
and this actually echoes 12x19 the future. this is from the production draft shared by @spnscripthunt-inactive. notice the themes of feeling no longer lost, of having faith, of feeling "normal" "for the first time in a long, long time." it may be worth mentioning that both 12x19 and 15x12 (where the above quotes come from) were written by meredith glynn and robert berens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
all of this together reads to me as: cas is defining himself and his own success by jack's success. and that changed on the day jack showed cas a vision of the future, a vision of "paradise" (according to cas). cas needs to believe his faith and trust in jack are correctly placed, that he is doing the right thing. he needs to believe he has a purpose, and he has decided his purpose is helping jack fulfill his (jack's) purpose.
and to thing #2 that made me believe the speech was about the day cas decided he was tied to jack: the way he closes the speech. "i found a family, and i became a father. and in that, i rediscovered my faith. i rediscovered who i am." finding a family and becoming a father are two separate things. finding a family happened much earlier. becoming a father is necessarily tied to jack (i'm not inclined to count claire here - not because she doesn't matter, but because i don't believe cas OR claire view cas as her father). and the way it reads to me is that when cas says "in that," he's talking about "in becoming a father." because it came later. i read it as "finding a family helped, but what really made me rediscover my faith and who i am was becoming a father." and that aligns pretty closely with what is said in 12x19!
so to your point (oh wow that was a long tangent, sorry). literally everything you're saying is spot-on to me. i think we can trace the roots of cas feeling lost and seeking a purpose all the way back to s4 - definitely! i think it's a huge struggle for him because he wants to have a purpose, he wants to feel like what he does matters, but it is difficult for him because he feels like he doesn't know what's right. prior to season 4 his purpose had been clearly spelled out for him (he's an angel, he does god's will). and while he no longer accepts that purpose as his own, i think he craves something as simple and straightforward as that purpose. it's really difficult for him in those s5-s12 years when he's bouncing around, trying to figure out what he should be doing! but i think you're absolutely right that the underlying theme, the underlying purpose is always protecting humanity, protecting his family. i'd add an element of "doing what's right/stopping evil" too. but yeah, cas DOES care about humanity. he DOES care about the little guy. he DOES want to prevent human suffering and misery, and to help relieve it wherever he can. it matters to me that cas cares about humanity because that's one of the things that makes him so different from the other angels. i think over time his tactics change to achieve the goal of protecting humanity, but the goal itself does not change.
so does being jack's father = protecting humanity? kind of. if we believe that jack will successfully usher in paradise, then yes, cas helping jack fulfill his destiny would make things better for humanity and arguably protect them (or reduce the amount of protection they need). but i don't think this has the same level of attention/care towards humans that cas has previously shown. it's about making sure jack succeeds so he can fix everything. it's not about making things better right now.
and this is where i get into opinion territory: i, like you, don't like the implication that cas has always felt lost and purposeless! lost, yes. unsure of his purpose, yes. but i feel like the framing here is that cas has just been aimlessly drifting about for all these years, totally incapable of finding a purpose. i do not think jack and god are the same but i don't see much of a difference between "i am an angel, i serve god's will" and "i am a father, i serve jack's will." especially because there is a chance, however slight, that jack was manipulating cas. that the vision jack showed cas was not a guarantee.
it feels to me like jack hands cas a purpose the same way god handed cas a purpose. and i thought the beauty of cas choosing free will was that he got to choose his purpose himself. this feels like it was chosen for him and he went along with it because it was easier to have a purpose selected for you by a being of unfathomable power. and i sympathize with that immensely! and i also think there was profound beauty in cas discovering his purpose on his own, even when it was a struggle.

Please ramble about Tedstina I’m a total truther lol. Their chemistry was SO intense and palpable from the second Teddy stepped on screen and I agree about them not getting together whilst Teddy was mentoring her but I always thought the Henry plot was a perfect lead in to them developing something long term. Like in my head Cristina dumps Owen after he makes her lie about Henry and in Teddy’s grief and Cristina’s guilt they get closer, eventually sleeping together and then dating. Out of all the couples something about them both being so stubborn but also so clear eyed, ambitious and somewhat cold makes them the most likely to last in my opinion. A little line with Burke but this time they actually know and like each other lmao. And it would definitely be a little twisted since Cristina technically ‘killed’ Henry and then dated his widow but also it’s no darker than other weird romance plots on greys lol. Plus they would’ve been hot as hell 😭
yess you get it. okay but be forewarned this is a true ramble- it may only be vaguely coherent as i’m just going off the cuff.
exactly the chemistry is genuinely insane!!!! the thing about greys that bums me out in the early seasons is that they had an aversion to making any of their main female characters canonically queer. like, i get it, bc getting the callie storyline out there was an uphill battle. but it’s like they want to be explicitly clear all the time that cristina and meredith are both very very Straight. and that’s a whole other thing i could go on about. all this to preface that i think if the show aired now, cristina would be canonically openly queer right out the gate.
by the time teddy came along, it was still pretty early in the owen/cristina and so he hadn’t really done anything yet to make him quite so hate-able. and after hahn there was a big gap left where cristina was sorely lacking in a good mentor. burke was almost a good mentor but then you know they started canoodling and he eventually got frustrating. hahn just straight up refused to teach cristina despite her clear enthusiasm and untapped talent. then teddy comes in and it’s like…. she’s brilliant, she’s not put off by cristina’s cristinaness and she actually seems to be interested in the teaching aspect of working at a teaching hospital (which was fucking rare at that point). so i was immediately drawn to the teddy-cristina dynamic. especially with the complication of owen being the common link.
i could go on a whole other ramble about teddy and the long lasting effects that stemmed from allison’s death and the guilt about that infidelity but suffice to say by the time we meet teddy she’s pretty messed up about love.
and as we know, cristina has a long history of being attracted to mentor figures.
i think that with teddy’s infatuation with owen being shut down on his end pretty early on (despite him doing a total one eighty in the later seasons and claiming to have always loved her 🙄) it opened the door for her to realize WHY she was attracted to him in the first place (a best friend she made in a war zone shortly after the allison tragedy, him already being in a relationship).
SO anyway teddy meets cristina. they’re both in love (?🙄) with owen, they are both passionate about the same specialty, they both have tragedy and failed romance in their pasts.
and i see what you mean about them being very similar. but they are also opposite (and therefore perfectly complimentary) in a lot of ways. i personally think teddy is a lot more optimistic than she appears. she’s not easily discouraged. i also like that right off the bat she recognizes cristina’s talent, takes a liking to her, and is kind of just impervious to cristina’s dislike/wariness of her. i think it’s so funny how almost everyone but meredith is at first really put off by cristina’s bluntness or outright offended by her but teddy is just like “i respect your skill, i’m not gonna take any shit, i know i’m great at my job so let me do it and we’ll be chill”
i think that the conversation about teddy wanting to leave and cristina begging her to stay and yelling that teddy can have owen was a turning point for both of them. i think they both had a lot of revelations.
AND THEN i think the saga of henry’s death was also a major turning point for their relationship. i don’t think this would make their relationship that twisted tbh bc i don’t think teddy ever saw it that way. i think if she blamed anyone other than herself, it was owen (which, yeah bc the way he handled that was fucking bonkers). and i’ve seen a lot of frustrating stuff (mostly on tiktok lol which i have to stay away from bc there’s rarely any nuance on there when it comes to fandom/media discussions) about how teddy repeatedly grilling cristina about henry’s death was the worst thing she ever did and she was punishing cristina or something. but i think that that isn’t true at all in the slightest. it was fucked up and brutal and it was a grief response that was terribly unfair to cristina, but i think it actually showed the two of them being on the same wavelength in a lot of ways. cristina isn’t fazed (at least visibly) by teddy’s need to hear it over and over. bc i think she understood why teddy needed to hear it. they both deal with grief by making it about the facts and about the medicine. teddy needed to know that there is nothing anyone could have done to save him so that she doesn’t feel like she has another death on her hands. and i think cristina gets that because of her backstory with her fathers death. AGAIN i think they just get each other in ways that owen never got either of them.
AND HOW COULD I NOT MENTION THAT TEDDY HAS ACTUALLY SAID “i’m in love with cristina yang”
ANYWAY i personally have this AU idea in my head where they cross paths in europe and reconnect.

i'm going to ramble for a minute because i am both greys anatomy's biggest fan while simultaneously being their biggest hater and i have a lot to say.
the show is terrible. i love everything up to s8 and then tap out after s11. i physically cannot watch anything after derek dies. i've watched up to s16 completely and now for the last 4 seasons have been keeping up through spoilers and clips on tiktok but i cannot will myself to keep going. and it's not because it's been renewed for s21 but because it's just so bad.
the last good season was in 2012, which is when it should have ended. the plane crash should have been the end of the series. it would have been a good year to end it. private practice ended in 2012, house md ended in 2012. those shows knew when enough was enough, and given the fact that private practice was a spin off of greys anatomy let's me know that the show runners know when enough is enough, they just don't know how to figure it out for greys.
i understand that it's one of those shows that fans are clinging to because it's a comfort show, but recycling storylines and character arcs just aren't cutting it anymore. they've killed off all of their good characters and are now trying to patch it up with characters that will never compare to previous cast members. they have no original storylines left because there's nothing left to do. and don't even get me started on the fact that they've been trying to replace derek since the moment he died. i don't even think meredith got a full season before they were throwing new love interests at her, and while yes, i liked other more love interests than other ones, there's no replacing derek. yes derek might have been a walking mcredflag but i am a derek shepherd girlie 100% and killing him off should have been the end. like if they were going to extend it past the plane crash, derek's death should have been the end.
another thing that bothers me - ellen pompeo's status on the show. she is the main character. if the main character has to step back because her brain "feels like scrambled eggs" and becoming a recurring guest star rather than in the main cast, that should be a major sign that it's over. enough is enough. you can tell in the last few seasons that she's become so monotone and robotic. she's not meredith anymore. it's obvious that she doesn't want to be there, and yet she keeps getting roped in to more episodes.
like i understand keeping the show going for the super fans who will binge the entire series and for the new watchers who started watching the newer seasons but it's to a point where seeing the announcements for another season actually angers me. bringing back old characters doesn't change how shitty the show is. did i love the beach scenes during the covid season? yes. do i love that they've brought addison back a few times recently? yes. was arizona's episode last week make me a little excited? perhaps. but it's not enough.

Meeting Luna (Jolex Sweet Imagine)
Tumblr media
Age Rating: 12+
Chapters: One of One
Fandom: Grey’s Anatomy
Ship: Alex Karev x Jo Wilson/Jo Karev
Canon Episode: Season 17 Episode 3
Summary: Alex and Jo help a patient deliver a baby that formed in her liver. Later Amber Karev gets news that devastates her and her loved ones.
Words: 3554
April 12th, 2020
Jo comes out of the hospital exhausted and rubbing her strained neck. It’s been four days since Meredith Grey was found passed out in the parking lot by Alex. He brought her inside the hospital where she was tested positive for covid. Since then, he has been checking in on her as her medical proxy, making sure she’s stable while Jo has been covering Meredith’s service. So far Jo hasn’t been outside in four days and the stress of the new job is getting to her.
“Hey.” Jo looks up to find her sister-in-law, Amber Karev, and best friend, Link, approach her in their casual clothes, “I’d ask how you’re doing but I think your appearance is answer enough.”
“Despite what you may read or hear in the news, sunlight does not in fact kill Covid 19.” Link says when he sees Jo has her mask off to take a breath.
“Ha. I've been covering Meredith's service. I haven't been outside in four days.” Amber hisses at that feeling bad for her, “What are you doing here?”
“Hand trauma.” Link explains.
“You left Amelia alone with four kids for a hand?”
Amber oohs at that, “You are so gonna be in the doghouse tonight.”
“She told me to come in.” Link explains.
“Oh. You're already annoying her.” Jo teases causing Amber to grin, “What's on your shirt?”
Link sees a sticky spot on his shirt, “Ooh, that's, uh, syrup? I made pancakes this morning.”
“Weird. You're a dad.” Jo jokes.
“Missed you!” Link sings before going inside leaving the sisters-in-law to catch up.
“How’s it going on your front?” Jo asks Amber, “I’m sure it’s not as painful as mine.”
“Normally I would disagree, but I know me complaining about my life right now is just gonna piss you off.” Amber says before changing the subject, “Any luck getting DCFS to do a home inspection?”
Jo frowns at that reminder. She and Alex bought a suitable two story 4-bedroom house back in February so they can raise a family there. They started the adoption paperwork, and the agency was gonna send a social worker to do a home inspection and interview them face to face.
But then March 13th happened, and social services has limited home visits in favor of public safety. The news broke Jo’s heart who was getting happier every time she and Alex were one step closer to having a baby of their own. So far, she has been trying to get past the pain with virtual therapy and work.
Jo sighs, “No they said other matters take precedence which as a woman who wants to adopt an abandoned baby pisses me off but as a doctor working in this terrible time I get it. I just wish I finally decided to have kids one month or hell even one day earlier. Maybe it might have made a difference.”
“I’m really sorry.” Amber says sad as well, “I know it doesn’t compare but my life hasn’t gone the way I envisioned it would five months ago either.”
Jo nods understanding, “Yeah if you had told me a year ago a pandemic would hit and instead of shopping for a car seat and looking toward the future, I would pray for toilet paper and hand sanitizer I would think you were crazy.”
“I would think I was crazy too.” Amber says bitterly, “I really am sorry I know how much you and Alex want a baby.”
“Thanks. We’re fine, we have each other, and we’ll just wait until social services finally does a visit and approves us. And to practice we have Schmitt living with us.”
Amber laughs, “I still can’t believe your letting him live with you. And I can’t believe Alex agreed to it, were you guys running low on rent or reasons for pity?”
“Okay he was sad and lonely, and he didn’t have a place to live I felt bad. It’s how Jackson felt with you after DeLuca broke up with you so…”
“…Touche my friend, touche. I gotta go, we’ll complain together later.”
“I’m holding you on that.” Amber walks past Jo and enters the pit when Levi Schmitt comes out and approaches Jo from behind.
“Abdominal pain consult in the ER.” Jo groans at that before snapping her fingers at Levi.
“I have faith in you.
“Covid test is still pending.” Levi informs Jo who slumps in defeat.
“I feel like I could just lay down and die.”
“Ah.” Levi imitates spitting to Jo’s confusion, “You really shouldn't say that during a pandemic.”
Levi goes back inside with Jo sulking for a minute before she puts her mask on and goes to her patient inside. Jo puts her protective shield on before going inside the trauma room where a blonde woman wearing a mask, face shield and gloves is sitting on the table clutching her stomach in pain.
“Val Ashton?” Jo starts, “Hi. I'm Dr. Karev. Okay, so you've had abdominal pain and vomiting for the last two weeks?”
“But it's not Covid.” Val insists, “I have gone nowhere, seen no one, touched nothing. I couldn't stop talking to the nurse that took my blood. It was the first in-person conversation I had had in months. I told her about the fight with my co-worker, all about my ex. And I think I invited her to lunch.”
Jo chuckles, “Don't worry. They're used to it.” Jo goes over Val’s chart in her tablet, “Okay, so your labs came back already, and…congratulations. You don't have Covid. You're just pregnant.”
Val looks at Jo in shock and utters a single word, “What?”
“Pregnant.” Jo repeats.
“What?”
“Yaay?” Jo says in the form of a question leaving Val to look at her in utter shock at this news.
An Hour Later
After the ultrasound from Carina confirmed there was no fetus in the uterus Jo ordered an abdominal scan for Val to find the underlying issue for her stomach pains. She asked Amber to assist her because she knows with Webber restricting residents from treating covid patients her resident sister-in-law is bored from doing scut and mandating patient entry.
“Thanks for letting me in on this I really needed it especially since Webber decided to punish Koracick by making him residency program director which also punishes us.”
“Yeah of course I figured it was either let you work close with me or risk getting Koracick punched in the face and you losing your job.”
“You make it sound like those are bad things.”
Bailey comes inside the monitor room, “Karev, I need you to keep covering Grey's service. I'm hoping to persuade Dr. Webber to come back to the OR, whenever he finishes adjusting his crown. Chief of chiefs. I could be chief of chiefs.”
“You'd be really good at that.” Amber says.
“What do you got?” Bailey asks
“Abdominal pain, vomiting, positive beta HCG. She's not pregnant, but I want to rule out a mass.” The scans pull up.
“Okay I see a mass it’s in the liver.”
Bailey looks at the scans astonishes, “That is no mass. That is a fetus.”
“She is pregnant, but her baby is attached to her liver?” Jo gasps at this in wonder while Amber chuckles in delight until Bailey steps in.
“Mine.”
“Hell no.” Amber retorts facing her boss, “This patient doesn’t have covid and I need something to lift up my spirits.” Bailey stares down at the resident who stares back with equal intimidation, “I’ve faced scarier things chief the only way you’re getting me out is tossing me across the floor.”
“Do you want to see that happen?” Bailey asks threateningly which doesn’t faze Amber as they continue to stare down with Jo looking on in worry.
“Okay as primary I will call the shots. Amber, I love you, but Bailey is my boss so get out.” Amber scoffs and turns to Jo who speaks before she can, “Go.”
“Fine.” Amber growls and stands up stomping out of the room with Bailey taking her place in joy as they look at the scans of the baby inside Val’s liver.
Later
Jo sees Alex in the middle of the empty peds floor and approaches him with a tablet in her hand.
“Hey are you busy?”
“Well, my best friend is being monitored by her sister and my sister’s ex-boyfriend so that leaves me time to sort out my empty floor where every surgery has been rescheduled for the next three months. I’m free for whatever you have as long as it’s not mundane.”
Jo chuckles, “Oh then you are gonna love this.” She hands him the tablet and shows Alex Val’s scans, “Val Ashton 35, came in with abdominal pain and vomiting, labs showed that she was pregnant but there was nothing in the ultrasound so we ran scans to see what the issue was.”
Alex looks at the scans, “Tumor in her liver that released HCG? I’m lost on why you came to me with this.”
“Because that mass in her liver is a fetus.” Jo explains and grins at Alex looking at her with wide eyes, “Yep you heard me my patient has an abdominal pregnancy.”
“I can see why you came to me.” Alex says with a grin relieved to have a case, “Is the fetus viable?”
“Carina DeLuca is about to do an ultrasound and we’ll get answers. If the baby is viable, we need to get them out so the growing placenta doesn’t rupture Val’s liver. We want you there so you can explain the risks the baby will face if she decides to keep it.”
“Okay yeah I can do that lead the way.” Jo leads Alex away from the peds floor to Val’s room.
Later
“There's a baby in my liver?” Val asks Jo with Alex next to her while Carina does an ultrasound on Val’s side where her liver is hearing a heartbeat.
“You have what's called an abdominal pregnancy, where the fetus develops outside of the uterus. You're about 26 weeks.”
“And so far, the heartbeat is strong which indicates viability.”
“That’s right and it’s very good in cases like this.” Carina says as she wipes away the gel, “Val, these pregnancies don't normally survive to term, but your baby is very much alive. Your case is extremely rare.”
“He made me feel like crap for eight years.” Val explains, “Every time IVF didn't work…he would look at the doctor and say, ‘Well, what can she do differently next time?’ When clearly it was his fault. Because I had a one-night stand with a guy that wears square computer glasses, and I'm knocked up.”
Alex nods understanding her pain from having his dream of having a baby with Jo stalled by covid.
“Val.” Carina sits by Val’s side and asks her cautiously, “Do you want this baby?”
Val inhales with tears in her eyes before nodding.
“Okay. Then we need to deliver her today.” Jo explains, “The growth of the placenta could cause the liver to bleed at any moment, and we need to operate to save you both, now.”
“It's a girl?” Val asks with a smile behind her mask.
Alex grins and nods, “Yes, it is.”
“Luna.” Val says rubbing her own belly, “That's her name. Ever since I was a little girl, I knew my daughter's name. I want to call her Little Moon, like the book, my mom would read it to me all the time.”
“Val.” Carina says and Val looks up nodding.
“Yeah, okay. Let's get her out!” Val gives consent in joy and the doctors look at each other knowing it’s not gonna be an easy surgery.
Two Hours Later
Jo and Bailey expose the liver revealing the baby inside as the scans show waiting for Alex and Carina to gown up so they can take the baby.
“Is she viable?” Alex asks as he spins while the nurse gowns him.
“Come see for yourself. Liver's exposed.” Bailey says causing Alex and Carina to observe the liver where they see the amniotic sac attached to the liver to their wonder.
“Wow.” Carina says in shock.
“Hello there, Little Moon.” Alex greets the baby before Bailey and Jo go over the steps of the procedure. Alex and Carina start the c-section and take out the small baby immediately, putting her inside the incubator while Bailey and Jo try to save the liver.
“Alex, I'm not seeing any movement.”
“Damn it.” Alex curses, “We need to intubate.” Alex and Carina try to intubate Luna while Jo and Bailey try to stop the heavy bleeding.
“How's Luna?” Jo asks.
Carina responds while helping Alex, “Apgar 2, maybe 3.” “We’re still trying to get the tube in.” Alex tries to intubate Luna, “Come on Luna you got this come on.” He successfully intubates her, “I’m in, bag her and get her up to the unit now let’s go!” Alex and Carina hurriedly take the incubator out of the OR while Jo and Bailey work hard to save Val’s life.
That Night
Jo is in the NICU looking down at her and Alex’s patient, Luna, who is hooked up to leads and wires in an incubator. The sight of the tiny premie breaks Jo’s heart but knowing the baby’s story gives her hope in a hopeless time.
“Hi, Luna.” Jo coos at the baby as she holds her tiny hand, “Hi. Your mommy is asleep right now, but she is gonna be so excited to meet you.”
Bailey approaches them with a grin, “See? Joy.”
Jo chuckles lightly, “She developed in a liver and was born in a pandemic. She is a survivor.”
“Your work these last few days hasn't gone unnoticed.” Bailey compliments, “Thank you.”
Jo nods and grows solemn at the reminder knowing why she’s so busy, “Meredith has to be okay, Bailey. She has to be okay.” The woman stand there looking at the baby hoping their good friend will make it through this virus.
Later
“We’re gonna need to keep you for observation for the next month.” Alex informs Val who is bleary from her surgery, “Dr. Karev and Dr. Bailey did their best to resect your liver without doing too much damage but we need to be safe and keep a close eye on you. Now we’ll do daily scans on your abdomen to make sure your liver isn’t failing. Worst case scenario we put you on the transplant list and wait for a match to fall through. And until then we would put you on dialysis to buy you some more time.”
“And what about Luna?” Val asks worried, “Is she gonna be okay?”
“She needs to be constantly monitored in the NICU while her lungs continue to form. Now she’s 26 weeks so we would have her incubated for the next 19 weeks till she reaches full term.”
“Can I hold her? Or visit her?”
Alex sighs, “I want to say yes but her immune system is still compromised and you’re still fresh out of surgery moving one of you could raise complications. We would need to wait until you’re discharged so you can visit her. Now I can set up a camera so you can watch her and talk to her while you’re both recovering. I’m sorry but it’s the best I can do right now.”
Val sighs in sadness, “…This is not how I imagined having a baby after all this time but I wouldn’t change it if it meant finally having Luna.”
Alex nods understanding, “If it makes you feel better my plans for having a baby have been recently stalled too.”
“Fertility issues?”
“Not exactly.” Alex sits in a chair next to Val, “My wife, Dr. Karev, told me she was finally ready to start a family and I was excited to be a dad. We were gonna adopt instead of getting pregnant because we were both kids in the system and we know it can be a brutal upbringing. We bought a house, we bought furniture to make it look picture perfect for social services, we were finally ready to start a family…but then March happened, and all our efforts went out the window. We’re now waiting as patiently as we can to get a social worker to visit and approve us and every minute that passes feels-”
“Like an eternity?” Val finishes understanding, “It’s how I felt before, during and after IVF. It felt like I was never gonna have a baby, like it was my fault somehow and to find out it wasn’t my fault at all makes me angry…but you telling me my baby is finally out. It makes all that anger disappear and I feel joy. God, I feel so much joy.”
Alex grins at that, “I could use some of that joy right now, can you share?”
“No.” Val’s blunt answer makes Alex chuckle. She frowns as a horrible scenario comes into her head that makes her look at Alex square in the face, “I need you to promise me something. Promise me that if I die, you’ll make sure Luna walks out of this hospital if I can’t.”
“Val…I can’t make promises.” Alex sadly tells her.
“I know but I need you to promise you will do everything you can to make sure Luna is okay. You will try any procedure, you will get her into a trial, you will do anything to make sure one of us makes it out of this alive. I need you to promise that you will take care of my Little Moon if I can’t, from one desperate parent to another please promise me.”
Alex looks at Val in awe before holding her hand and looking into her eyes with conviction, “I promise.” Val sniffles and looks at Alex gratefully as he holds her hand with the both of them feeling hopeful.
Epilogue
Amber is alone in the resident’s lounge putting her casual clothes on feeling drained once again after another long day. What was supposed to be her first surgery in weeks turned She has been in charge of the line outside which got her into little arguments with people who refuse to fully wear their masks and keep a six feet distance.
It got to the point where one of them spit on her and she spent ten minutes furiously scrubbing her face with rubbing alcohol afraid of the germs and angry at the ass who demeaned her. Now all Amber wants to do is go to Jackson’s penthouse, drink his expensive alcohol and watch bad reality tv. A knock on the door calls her and she turns to find her roommate Jackson Avery standing outside the door in his casual wear and black mask looking at her in worry.
“I heard what happened. Did the guy really spit in your face when you told him to stop acting like an idiot and put his mask on and keep a safe distance?”
Amber groans putting her black mask on, “Yep, I did the silkwood shower on my face right after I think I peeled off a layer of my own skin. I don’t want to talk about it I just want to go home, watch The Bachelorette and wonder where my life is going after today.”
“I’ll join you; I got a feeling Hannah is gonna eliminate Peter.”
Amber scoffs at that, “Please you wish, Peter is going all the way, Mike is next mark my words.”
Jackson’s eyes widen offended, “Oh we’ll see about that Mike is her dream man, loser does the laundry?”
Amber chuckles at her friend, “You’re on, make sure to fold my delicates I like them neat and organized.”
“Same. Let’s go.” Amber slings her backpack on and is about to walk towards him when Owen Hunt comes in with a numb face wearing his scrubs and mask.
“Good I caught you both before you left.”
“What’s wrong?” Jackson asks concerned.
Owen looks solemn but faces Amber with regret getting straight to the point, “Amber your test came back just now, your positive for covid 19, I’m sorry.”
Jackson and Amber are stunned by this with him standing by the doorway looking at Amber worried she’ll faint like Meredith. Amber is standing by her cubby with her backpack on looking frozen with shock before she chuckles uneasily.
“Is this a joke? I’m not symptomatic, I feel fine. Did Koracick or Alex put you up to this because it is the worst punking in the history of ever.”
“No this isn’t a joke.” Owen says with a serious tone, “The test is right here you can look at it if you want.”
Owen puts the tablet on the table six feet away from Amber who takes it and looks at her results with a small gasp. She looks up at Jackson who looks down in worry but pulls out his phone.
“I’ll book you a hotel room to quarantine and tell your family.” He puts the phone to his ear, “And April we should get tests too.”
Amber swallows the lump in her throat before sitting on the bench while Jackson makes calls. At this moment she feels a fear in her chest she’s never experienced before as a doctor and as of now a patient.

wait i’m gonna be so annoying and have a final thoughts here
the aesthetic & main romance has just really fallen off. they are incapable of sticking the landing in the third act & while they still have some good looks, i think there’s a certain level of playing it too safe (see Kate’s wardrobe!!!!!) and also just, bizarre makeup choices that were a bit distracting.
they also just don’t know how to keep a character waiting for their romance while building that character up over several arcs. kind of a bad trait to have for a tv show?? 😭😭 like, i love them with all my heart, but everyone has said that eloise, benedict, & colin have felt so confused at points as characters, like the writers didn’t know where to go with them. they’re just waiting for their romance instead of like, growing.
Colin was the male lead what do we even know about him beyond his inability to interact with a woman without projecting onto her.
once again the milfs outsold, agatha and violet are the best thing about this series and i don’t care how much i like violet’s lil thing with agatha’s brother, i want those two gossipy old milfs to kiss sloppy style.
it’s too goddamn short, i think this wasn’t a problem in s1 or qc bc it’s the First season so there’s not as many characters to follow but they keep introducing all these other characters that take space away from a) The Main Couple and b) The Bridgertons As A Family, and those are the draws of the series!! it’s too much for only 8 episodes, what happened to 12-18 episodes for high budget or cable shows, if they had these people on like Normal tv contracts they wouldn’t have such a hard time scheduling and have these long ass waits between seasons Either, im tired of this and i blame the duffer brothers and i want those two nerds hunted for sport.
also hyacinth and gregory are getting SO OLD OMG HURRY UP 😭😭😭
i think they did a better job this season with folding the siblings in together but it feels disjointed from s2. anthony & kate specifically feel very oddly thrown in there and idgi. i loved seeing the bridgertons using calling times as an excuse for Group Hangs, and i loved the way John pointed this out to Francesca. i liked that the ending with benedict where he’s realizing he’s the oldest still left at home with two like, toddler siblings and feeling unhappy with it, but bc they struggle with incorporating all the siblings together, we really lose that thread from last season between him & anthony that could have given benedict a way to explore his sexuality in a slutty way while also giving anthony something to do & not drop the art school thing. however, this is all detailed and would take a lot of time and they only have eight episodes. why. do 13-18 or im gonna start sending death threats to ceos. for legal reasons that’s a joke haha.
i do think in the few kathony scenes we got, they nailed the dynamic that she is the world’s most put upon eldest daughterson and he needs to be institutionalized. pls put jonathan bailey and simone ashley in another thing together so i can see them together again. this can’t be the end. be the next tom hanks and meg ryan please. he george clooney and julia roberts. i’m on my knees here.
am i allowed to say i’m glad we got a long devirginizing scene like in s1 & qc but also we did not see Nearly enough of those two fucking. more than kathony but imo still not on the level of the other two. also you could write an essay here about the sex politics of this show. i will refrain and say Is This Not The Pervert’s Show?? Can we Please get better pandering????
i think no one can handle a big cast like shonda not even her hand picked teams. qc handled having a host of characters so much better. early grey’s is really great at this. htgawm is good at this. u can tell what season she was really In That Writer’s Room. shonda pls get back in the writer’s room i need something as emotionally devastating as “meredith i’m so sorry” “you must be the woman whose screwing my husband” i need sexy like the “teach me” scene but with the freedom of streaming to get freaky with it, this cast WANTS to deliver but netflix & these writers are NOT up to the challenge!!!
i love bi benedict. even if nothing else comes of this i didn’t think they’d genuinely have benedict get intimate with and acknowledge being attracted to a man. genuinely really jazzed about that. but they Have said they want to explore his ~fluidity more and there’s so many scenarios that could be, i have no idea what the hell they mean by that askksjd. crossdressing sophie, genderbent to solomon, a trans sophie/solomon of some persuasion, im excited to see where they go!
BI FRANCESCA. MICHAELA STIRLING. PEOPLE ARE HATING BUT YOU HAVE MY ATTENTION. esp bc you could do a michaela that has like, resigned herself to a life of never feeling love only to fall in love At Her Cousin’s Wedding so well with this. these three, michaela francesca john, are gonna break my HEART i’m READY for it!
i want the resolution to one of the gay couples to include brimsley & reynolds encouraging charlotte to cure society of homophobia somehow. if we can do this with racism we can do it with homophobia. why the hell not.
listen to me. listen closely. are you listening. if we don’t get lesbian eloise what are we even fucking doing here. enough fucking around. give me a real sign this is all going somewhere. i am no longer asking.

Leverage Log: the Lonely Hearts Job
Well with a name like that, im expecting this to either be about con-artists cheating people on E-harmony, or a legitimately tragic story about love and/or loss...
---
Ok so Rich man arrives with armed goons (heck of a way to make a fist impression) and is crying within 2 minutes of the episode starting... I've said before that i want to see more of the marks' humanised so this promises to be an interesting episode. Nate: "There's no evidence of wrongdoing, She left you" Sophie (to nate): "thats harsh" Wellesley the fourth: "no it isnt".
This is a guy who knows how it looks, understand that it looks that way and acknowledges it openly. Its nice to see us go from last episode's overly naive Hurley to one of the more competent clients we've seen so far. "Whatever you want... its yours. Just find my wife".
I wonder whats going through Nate's mind in this moment. Here's a guy he's been scouting as a mark begging to be taken as a client...
Gut feeling: The second wife (the one who is missing) was actually the type of golddigger it looks like, but accounting for episode name. Its gonna be one of those "the mask grows to fit you" situations where they actually fell for the guy.
---
So Hardisons analysis implies this guy is like, legit as clients go. He's inherited old money not new money, which is the difference between "evil billionaire CEO" and "Born with privilege, gonna use it how I can". Basically: His great granpa would've been a Leverage mark, but he himself is a legit philantropist.
Meanwhile missing wife may in fact be a black widow. (luckily this client has his own goonsquad to protect him, so we dont need to leave Elliot behind to protect him)
---
Parker extremely annoyed she's not allowed to steal any of the rich folks' jewelry at the auction. The Boys deciding to have an auction-shaped dick-measuring contest.
Hardison wins the bid, we are reminded that one of Sophie's aliases is a duchess.
Ok so its an entire army of Sophie's.
Need to fight the ringleader, "pick a fight with Hardisons date". Well she did what you asked her to!
--- "I promise next time, i'll use the word argument instead of fight." Clear Comunication! If only people IRL would learn this lesson.
And once more the little Parker moments "what's a Hohe Minnie?", she's consistently the only member of the Young Thieves who takes an interest in the other people's jobs in the cons they're running. She's definitly being primed as Nate's eventual replacement (wether permanent or temporary).
---
Nate's pajama's. Sophie is loving the idea of a con where Nate has to "pretend" to wine-and-dine her.
I agree with Elliot, the moment it turned out they were grifters, the bet was off. But also, like that we once again get a nod at his cooking skills. "do you want me to teach you about the wines again?" "thats hurtfull and presumptious... but yes."
--- I love the way that Elliot punching the guy out is framed as a shot, good transition. Elliot bribing the guitarist, photographers commentary is great. "I picked you", such a simple statement, Every other member of the group was recruited by Dunevich, but Nate brought Sophie.
---
They found the wife. Suprisingly she isnt dead. (Meredith seems competent enough to tie off that loose end, and i think she could've exposited on the similarity to Nate falling in love with "The Duchess". But then, without recovering the wife Nate doesnt get to have a Favor for use in the season climax)
Seeing the gifts... Im 100% certain Elliot improv'd the guitar as well, that wasnt actually a Nate plan. Just Elliot.
Final tease with Latimer, he's a bit too much of a nothing-character to be truly intimidating, which means either the showrunners are making a mistake somewhere, or he's about to take a big fall to sell the credibility of the guy who he just called. Wait.... i just got a brainniggle. The story he tried to spin to Nate: "Someone stole a guy's patents", thats the same lie used in episode 1 of season 1. This in the same episode that had a reminder about the difference with Sophie and the other members of the team (on the subject of how they joined the team)
Is Latimer working for the Episode 1 mark? Or is my brain just doing that "i've connected the dots" meme?
Guess i'll see in time.

Rewatching Teen Wolf all over again because it’s my comfort show.
The last time I rewatched I recognized how JD took mythology and pretty much shat on it. It appears he thinks the fans are stupid.
And it’s not my first time at rewatching (as again my comfort show), because I noticed on a previous occasion that most of the writing had discrepancies. Like was the sherif there or not when his wife died? And how old really is Derek? First he was only 19. Then Derek was made older because guessing since the fans liked the scenes between Hoechlin and O’Brien. Like JD really thought the fans would forget his age was changed?
Also where does Stiles get his nickname from maternal or paternal grandfather? Discrepancies from the first season episode 5 to the season where he was taken by the ghost riders.
In season 2 when Gerard says to Allison she’s almost eighteen but in season 1 she turns 18. wtf!
In season 3 Lydia alludes to Stiles not being human when she says to leave the figuring out to someone human, when they didn’t know who was doing the sacrificing.
Now I’m focusing on how literally JD shat on Derick Hale. Repeatedly. It wasn’t bad enough this character was abused as a child, but then his entire family was brutally murdered. Then he’s left alone and just more crap keeps happening to him. Of course the first thing he does is try to get a pack. He can’t be an omega.
He’s also dealing with trauma of being in shame, the his family is murdered, which adds even more shame and more trauma because he feels responsible for the deaths Derek’s also only a few years older than Scott, Stiles and the rest. He’s not going to be amazing at being an alpha initially. He’s a traumatized older teen or young adult. He didn’t want to be an Alpha. Nor was he ever given a proper chance. He didn’t have guidance. Wtf Deaton. You couldn’t help him?
Beginning of season 3 when they had to do the ice bath sub consciousness thing with Isaac why did it take two wives to hold Isaac down. Poor Isaac whose already been through to much had to have claws in his neck and then practically drowning. But only took one person to hold down Scott, Alison and Stiles. Did Isaac have that darkness around him also?
Then in season 3B they mentioned that Stiles plays chess. But in season 1 they say only the Sheridan plays. Do JD and his writers really think people do not pay attention? If they care about ratings then care about the loyalty and intelligence of fans. But instead they just baited us and made us seem insane.
Season 4 episode 6, when stiles and Lydia are trying to see Meredith, Parrish tells Bronsky that he was caught blowing a breathalyzer test in Canaan. Later on we learn Canaan has existed in decades. JD thinks we’re fools.
But Derek was also too young to have had to find a new pack, when his family was brutally murdered. Perhaps that’s why he was grumpy. He was desperate.
A few months ago he had to end his girlfriends life as she was brutally attacked. Giving power to the nemeton. Which then gave power to Julia/jennifer/darach. Come on now.
Then flipping Kate somehow makes him a kid again and he has to deal with losing his powers.
Pack means everything to wolves. He again couldn’t be an omega. And to have to do it semi alone and then truly alone. Then trying to help a bitten werewolf understand what being a wolf means.
Plus he also has to live in the place his family was killed.
Then his damn groomer returns.
Then his little sister comes back and he chooses to make himself a punching bag for her and Boyd. He is always truly sacrificing himself.
Then his asshole uncle can’t remember if he’s good or bad but keeps abusing him! Peter was also never much of a help when Derek were youngsters.
Then a flipping dark Druid abuses him too. Like leave Derek the fuck alone. Don’t even get me started on the garbage Teen Wolf movie. That was utter and absolute garbage.

Grey's Anatomy: I Carry Your Heart (20x09)
Nick is so annoyingggg. This episode was full of multiple little irritants, to be honest.
Cons:
Like, look, I understand that Meredith is being a bad girlfriend to him, I do understand that. But Nick is still the most boring man ever invented for TV so it's hard for me to be invested in Meredith's love life with him. So when she's being dismissive and not prioritizing him, I'm like... so? Good for you. Leave his ass, Meredith, he's so generic I couldn't pick him out of a line-up. So I'm not invested on whether Nick decides to stick it out or not. I don't even know if I buy that Meredith would care that much if he suddenly vanished in a puff of smoke.
Link and Jo also suck in this episode! Their petty little fight over a patient just re-emphasized how uninteresting I find their romance. When they're happy, they're bland and forced. When they're snipping at each other, I just wish Alex Karev would barge into the room and take Jo back to run off with him so they can be happy. I've loved Jo for so long as a character but to be honest, with the news of Schmitt and Yasuda leaving next season, I'd swap Jo and Link for them in a heartbeat.
I was glad to see Maggie but she felt a little wasted in this episode? She and Winston have the awkward tension of near-divorce while still obviously caring about each other, and honestly it just bums me out again that they didn't make it work. They should have become another Bailey and Ben, where Winston is a character on the show and Maggie is just... off-camera, still his wife, still being a bad-ass surgeon somewhere. But they wanted to keep Winston in the pool for romance plot lines, so instead we've got this bummer divorce after some honest character assassination of Maggie to get there. I don't know. Seeing her should have been fun, but mostly I'm just bummed.
And Winston and Maggie's scenes together made me feel that spark, that connection, much more so than Winston and... Monica?? How dare. I wish Winston had just made a stupid decision and kissed Maggie when she'd tried to start something. But instead we get this frankly out of left field development with Monica. I get it, they're both just divorced and they're making a stupid rash decision. But this is just gonna make Amelia sad, and I don't like when Amelia is sad! Come on, Grey's.
Yasuda and Helm breaking up makes sense I guess, but I'm just sad that we didn't actually get to spend more time with these characters. This show has never known what to do with Helm, and now Mika is leaving next season, and it's just a bummer all around.
Adams is brooding personified. He finds out he might need to repeat his intern year, and he mopes about it. He's weird about Simone, who has no idea why. He gets offered a job, and now next week we're going to have to hear him agonize about that decision. He'll probably ultimately choose to stay, right? I'm bored. He should leave with Maggie, maybe that means Yasuda and Levi could stay instead.
Pros:
I was right that Owen and Teddy having drama about the secret funding would be annoying, but it was actually not that annoying, and Teddy getting fired is drama I like better for them as a couple, honestly? Their careers have been so messy and they've been through so many ups and downs, I could see being okay with a plot line where Teddy has to figure out what's next for her personally, with Owen's support. I've got my fingers crossed that this won't be too much of an irritant next season.
Kwan and Jules are great, I actually feel more and more invested in them, they're pretty much the only relationship on this show I feel fully excited about. Confirmation that Jules is queer was much appreciated, also. I think seeing them two of them talk and flirt kind of antagonistically and then hook up, do the pillow talk thing, it's all emphasizing why the Simone/Adams romance doesn't work. All we get with those two is the fraught angst of their complicated relationship. with Jules and Kwan, we see the back and forth, the hook-ups and then cutting themselves off before they can really be vulnerable, we get all that drama, but we also see them just... talk to each other? Enjoy each other's company, listen to each other talk? They have an actual foundation I believe in, so the fraught uncertainty of how they'll end up actually carries weight. I'm invested in seeing them together, because I know what that might look like, and it looks happy and fun and good.
Amelia and Meredith's Alzheimer's breakthrough is super interesting! I love how Amelia brought Derek into it, talking about how his contributions will be erased by their progress. Meredith feels that too, but she's also thinking of her mom. I love this connection for them, I love the Derek mentions. I want Meredith's recurring character moments on the show to be about this, not about Nick! My vendetta against Catherine Fox is still going strong, so I do wonder what I'll think of how that story develops as we move forward...
I got super emotional about the patient stories in this episode, the heart transplant stuff! You've got the couple who just moved in together, with the guy needing another heart transplant after the first one is failing. Then you've got the young man who gets a new heart and lungs. Turns out his heart is viable for the other guy, even though it wasn't viable for him anymore... slightly confused about logistics here but sure. In the end, both patients are successfully saved with the magic of organ donation, and the one guy's boyfriend tearfully hugs the parents of the younger guy. It was such a powerful beautiful moment that really made me tear up. Now that couple doesn't have to rush the wedding, they can take their time!
Looking back at the bulk of this episode, I'm annoyed with pretty much all the romantic drama in the show right now. And this is Grey's Anatomy, so that's kind of... most of the show. That said, there were still plenty of elements here I'm invested in, and that will always remain true! (What's with Jo collapsing in the promo for next week? That doesn't look good!)

i have things to say about my little tv shows now ok. 1) the big thing i know we all care so much about. the change in showrunners for greys from krista vernoff (my enemy for real) to someone new. i had to look her up it’s meg marinis and i have tentatively decided to trust her because i looked up what episodes she’s written and she HAPPENS to be the writer behind my favorite greys episode ever. not that that makes the episode good i was just 17 and there was a scene in there that gay 17 year old beth desperately needed at that time. we don’t have to get into it. also she wrote the last 2 episodes of season 19 which i remember being INSANE in the straight people department (lucas and simone!!!!) so. i’m trusting her. meg i am putting my faith in you. do not let me down.
2) jo and link BORING. don’t care for them sorry! not all straight people are winners some of them are lame and pale in comparison to the interns realness and the iconicity of miranda bailey and ben warren…. 3) speaking of my queen miranda bailey. oh it’s all coming together… full circle moment!! she’s in charge of the interns! she’s the best damn teacher in that hospital! yay! rip what’s his name we hardly knew you. because you were boring. (referring to meredith’s lame boyfriend who was previously teaching the interns and is now moving to boston to be with meredith)
and now. station 19, first of all they set my girl up… they changed the time slot to 10 and made this their last season… all for what. 911??? someone needs to kill themselves for this. i’ll see you in hell whatever abc executive designed this. anyway. 2) the good thing about this being. the end 😐 (and we all know how well i do with endings.) is that finally the endgames will become clear. this is a show in which. SO much has happened with every character’s arc i don’t even remember it all it’s been on for seven years ok it started as a show about a woman trying to fill her father’s shoes on her way to becoming the captain of the fire station they both work in. our girl has lost so many times it is unreal, she has had that captain position stolen from her roughly a thousand times, her romantic life has been in shambles since day one i won’t even go there rn. anyway so from episode one it’s clear that her arc this season now that she HAS the captain title is going to be about becoming the BEST captain, and she will!! i believe in my girl and i always have!! and jack’s arc will clearly be about figuring out his life without being a firefighter now that he has all that brain damage. and so on and so forth. we can finally see an end in sight to these characters hectic ass lives and thank fucking god because station 19 is one of the most stress inducing shows i’ve ever watched. 3) as well as that. the romantic endgames will become clear. i can see the full picture forming i can finally begin to see it all… as i said earlier i have been rooting for jack and andy endgame since day one and frankly if that one in a million win happens. i’ll probably explode idk i never thought what might happen if i actually won there i don’t really expect to. the romantic endgames are not all clear i was using this point as a lead in to point 4. so 4) travis… well i’ve known for years they were always going to go back to travis and emmett. i knew that random british man was not long for my man travis the second he came in. listen. travis and emmett started ages ago, and they broke up and became friends and the actor playing emmett left the show and then they brought him back cuz they liked him so much. and i knew the moment they kept bringing him back. this is endgame and i better get used to it. so it’s a good thing i never had anything against travis and emmett because well it looks like i was right this is endgame bye british guy hashtag america strong hashtag declaration of independence hashtag go back to where you came from etc. sorry i really don’t care for that british man he was like. mildly tolerable last season but i never wanted him to stay around this long it’s fucked up. anyway. loved travis and emmett’s little cheating moment as emmett grieves his shitty dead dad who we all hated for being a republican <3 loved that they had sex in emmett’s mother’s house while she was probably like two rooms away and also i have a keen eye and like that was a room without a damn door they were in when they started tearing each other’s clothes off. as my mother commented. “in the living room???” real as fuck mom… anyway slay. point 3a) vic and ruiz can’t possibly be endgame right. god they probably are. fuck my life 🙄 god he’ll never be ripley…. you had to be there at the time it was the moment at the time….
yeah. anyway. lots of wins for straight people tonight. i wish they were real :( also some wins for the gays of those shows, maya and carina as always serving up their bland boring network tv lesbian couple swag. kinda obsessed tbh. maya has had a rough time of it in these seven seasons she deserves to be boring and lame now i think <3 my buddy schmidt still kinda losing the Take Me Seriously war. i fear if these six years have been any indication he never will win that battle. BUT. remember that meg is running the show now…. meg loves him… i mean clearly meg loves him she wrote The Episode….. meg i won’t ask for much but if it’s not too much trouble could you perhaps give a think on bringing back nico before they pull the plug on your show… just consider…. i’d really like it a lot if i got to see him even just one more time….. no worries if not meg i’m not trying to get greedy out here. however if you give my guy a krista core bullshit love interest i’ll kill you myself. peace and love. (krista core means bad btw. we HATE krista vernoff. boooooo) anyway. so that’s my thoughts. heart

3x11: Our Town
I'm not gonna put the opening scenes in this post because I'm trying to keep it as short as possible. But if anyone wants those gifs, I have no problem taking gif requests, they'll just have to be in a separate post.
I hardly ever disagree with Bonnie, but this is one of those instances when I do. Jeremy is only 16. He can choose how he wants to live when he's 18. It's because Elena is 18 that she should do whatever she can to protect him. She's his guardian now, she's the one who has to make it right for him. As upsetting as that is for Bonnie, I would've done the same in Elena's shoes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The founding families have complete control over what happens in Mystic Falls. Having power over the founding families gives Klaus that power, period. This pushes the founding families to put pressure on Stefan to give up the coffins. So while Klaus makes all the right moves, Stefan makes all the wrong ones. It's at this point, I feel the need to sum up Stefan's choices in 3x10 and 3x11...
By taking Klaus' coffins, Stefan put Jeremy at risk of death and got Alaric killed as Jeremy would've died had he not taken the hit. It's because Stefan didn't care what happened to Jeremy that Elena had to make her own deal with Klaus, then compel Jeremy out of town to keep him safe. So Stefan separated Elena from her brother and killed Alaric the one time it actually mattered... when his mind would split.
By killing one of Klaus' hybrids, Stefan then put Caroline at risk of death via werewolf venom, of which will result with Tyler leaving town to break his sire bond because she's the second person he put at risk with it - Jeremy being the first. So Stefan separated Caroline from her boyfriend.
Stefan then abducted Elena and threatened her on the bridge where her parents died. So when 3x22 rolls around and they've got Stefan home with Tyler, Caroline, and Elena… it's one of those things you gotta laugh at. Bonnie's episode is next and Stefan's not done with it. To be completely honest, his revenge fantasy against Klaus should've ended with him at the warehouse with Klaus' body instead of Damon. After all, it was HIS revenge. Aside from, he put everyone in grave danger, so he shouldn't be the one that gets to stay home. They need Damon out of town to turn his girlfriend into a vampire. This episode not only proves it, but foreshadows most of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meredith: I hate that bridge. My senior prom date dumped me on this bridge. Alaric: Oh, yeah? Did you throw him over? Meredith: No, but I should have. I've been holding a grudge ever since. Meredith: Behold, my senior prom date. Alaric: Well, you definitely should have throw him over the bridge.
Stefan's entire revenge fantasy against Klaus is his grudge over losing Elena, and he should've driven her off the bridge when he fed her his blood. If you wanna know why Stefan can't flip Elena's switch at prom, Meredith is telling you why. They used the bridge to tie in the simple concept that Stefan lost Elena the moment he left town with Klaus, thus, he lost her when he crossed that bridge.
Tumblr media
This is the bridge scene that matters. It's every bit 3x22.
The Salvatore deal was to keep Elena out of it. Revenge against Klaus was a journey for Damon and Stefan alone. Stefan actually breaks this only rule by using Elena to get to Klaus. "Stefan, leave her out of this." Klaus believes Stefan is bluffing and so much as tells Damon, "That kind of love never dies." Understand he's not referring to Elena's love for Stefan, he's speaking solely to Stefan's love for Elena. He not only believes Stefan is bluffing about killing her, he believes Stefan is bluffing about turning her into a vampire. After all, he's thinking the same as season 2 Elijah. She'll hate Stefan forever, and forever for a vampire is a very long time. There's no way "that kind of love" would want Elena hating him for eternity.
Stefan has Damon believing that his humanity switch is fried, so his humanity is central in this episode. Damon simply has no idea how far Stefan will go with his revenge plan, and while Stefan seeks revenge, Damon is forced to take over his role as peacemaker.
Damon: The only way to call someones bluff, Stefan, is to be willing to lose everything if you're wrong.
This comment of Damon's belongs on the bridge because Elena is "everything" to Stefan. He doesn't just threaten to kill Elena where her parents died. He threatens to turn her into a vampire, something he knows she never wants to be. He then follows it up by pretty much telling her that he can't be "just friends" with her, so all he has left is his revenge against Klaus. In a nutshell, their bridge scene is Stefan's parallel to Damon in season 5, only Damon doesn't threaten Elena.
"No, Elena, I can't be your friend. It's too damn hard. No, I'm serious, Elena - I can't see you anymore. I don't wanna hear your voice, I don't wanna talk to you, I don't even want to look at you, and I sure as hell don't want to be your friend."
This is every bit why Stefan has no problem threatening her on the bridge. It's too damn hard, so he's trying to get her to hate him. It's easier that way. "Is that what you're doing? Trying to make me hate you?" What's insane about season 3, is the fact that Stefan could've moved on after Klaus gave him his freedom. He didn't have to seek revenge, he chose to. The whole of the matter is that Tyler, Caroline, Jeremy, Elena, and Alaric are paying the price all because Stefan can't settle for a friendship with Elena.
His stupidity is just as insane. He tells Klaus, "Friends don't strip friends of their free will." This is the same guy that lied to Klaus all summer long. It's the very fact of the matter that Stefan knew he could face certain punishment should Klaus find out about Elena. I'm basically saying that Stefan is at fault for his own bs. He put himself in parallel with Jenna the moment he lied to Klaus and left town with him. Elijah flat-out told Stefan and Bonnie that Klaus killed Jenna because Damon meddled in his ritual when he rescued Tyler and Caroline. So yes, Stefan knew that he was facing punishment should Klaus find out. Klaus punishes people when they wrong him in such a way. It's his way of making sure they don't betray him again. Unlike Damon, who simply doesn't trust again. Unfortunately for Stefan, he hasn't gotten the point yet, so his revenge fantasy continues. When they have both Damon and Stefan referring to Stefan as the better villain, know that it's true. Stefan is the better vampire. But you should also know that everything is building for him. By this, I mean… everything Stefan needs for his 3x14 manipulation. He just doesn't use any of it until he's actualy ready to, and he's ready at the end of 3x13.
Tumblr media
Klaus: Celebrate the fact that you're no longer bound by trivial human conventions. You're free. Caroline: No, I'm dying.
Klaus' comment to Caroline is fit for Delena's porch scene. I think 3x3 was the last time Damon hit Elena's boundary. Anyway... kissing her is that final boundary. What makes their porch scene is the difference between Damon and Elena. He's a vampire and she's human. "Otherwise you wouldn't put an alternate meaning behind everything you say." This is where I should remind fans of alternate meanings because it matters here. Damon and Elena both know the truth as to why he can't kiss her again. It's not because she doesn't feel the same way. It's because she does. They know that she'll return his kiss if he initiates it. While Damon feels it's right, just not right now… Elena feels it'll never be right because he's Stefan's brother. If he weren't Stefan's brother, they'd already be dating.
Tumblr media
Because there's need to respect Elena's character, she's written complete opposite Caroline. In order for her to be free of human conventions, she has to die. Meaning… she has to die to be with Damon. It's not acceptable "human" behavior to date your ex-boyfriend's brother. However, something vampires can get away with. After all, it's not acceptable human behavior to kill, but they do. The writers are prepping Elena to become a vampire so that she can be with Damon without destroying her character. This is where Katherine's comment comes in. "Who needs rules?" Vampires have no rules.
Stefan: This is from the year you were born. I think we should celebrate. Elena: Celebrate what?
When Stefan plans to celebrate Elena's first feed, trust she won't be celebrating with him… she'll be celebrating with Damon in the fact that she's free of human conventions by feeding on him in the Grill bathroom lol
Tyler's sire bond involves three people: Klaus, Tyler, and Caroline. The Delena sire bond removes that third person, but fans can still see him if they look close enough. The Klaus aspect is brought into Delena's sire bond through Damon's second personality. This is how they put Klaus into Delena's sire bond…
Tumblr media
I consider the sire bond as Damon's birthday gift.
"You said boyfriend dramas. Plural. What is it, Caroline?"
"The girl who had a normal life, and didn't fall in love with vampires."
Plural. The sire bond isn't really a question of Elena's love for Damon. It's a question of Elena's love for Stefan. Falling in love doesn't mean she's STILL in love. It's my belief that she un-fell for Stefan in 3x5. This is the lie that matters.

Note
I’m that same April/Arizona/Shane hate anon
When did you stop watching greys ? I’m only asking because I really enjoy your blog and POV and finally found someone who agrees that Arizona is terrible to Callie
I’m also curious if you’ve seen the part of greys where April and Jackson lose their first baby - it’s around the time Shane came in (season 9-11 I think)
Did you like Lexie ? I didn’t but disliking her is also unpopular. I don’t hate her l, I just don’t see her point. She’s cute with mark and they have a good relationship but character wise, she’s nothing special to me. When she came in season 4 as the daughter thatcher chose and raised instead of mer, I really disliked her just because at that point I was on Meredith’s side.
Also, do you remember Mer fighting with Cristina in s5 ? If so, whose side were u on ? Do you have an opinion on the mer and Cristina fight in s10 (I was totally on Meredith’s side on that btw)
It's funny because I recently rewatched the Cristina/Meredith fight in season 10 and I'm on Cristina's side 100%.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are valid points. She even says it has nothing to do with being a mother
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
People get so wrapped up in her pointing out that Ellis never let up but her point was that because Meredith didn't want to be Ellis, which was valid, she let that --- at the time anyway --- affect her dedication to her work.
She didn't even say she was a bad surgeon, she just said that the two of them were in different places and they were and then Meredith twisted what Cristina said.
Tumblr media
because she never said she couldn't do that, she just said that she slowed down and her priorities were different and they were.
In terms of the printer, Meredith's research, yes, she got it for the hospital to complete her research and she needed to complete her phase before the end of the week to get funding but Cristina had an actual patient who was running out of options and she was doing everything she could to save the patient's life. That should take precedence.
People hate that Shane intervened but what he said wasn't wrong, Meredith did make it emotional, she did make it personal and that's something that Meredith does frequently
Tumblr media
and something Cristina had called her out about in their season 5 fight
Tumblr media
So, I was on Cristina's side.
In terms of their fight in season 5, I don't really know if I had a side because no matter how you slice it, they were both wrong. Like, I definitely thought Cristina was right to tell Meredith that all of them failed their interns but she didn't report them and I thought she should've been punished for that and the fact that she didn't report them isn't Meredith's responsibility. At the same time, Meredith was kind of acting holier than thou when her interns were also a part of the situation and as for her not having her back, she doesn't have to but I mean she had Izzie's in season 2 and for all of their talk about being each other's Person, I can see why Cristina would be pissed but again, it wasn't really about sides for me with that one.
I stopped watching Grey's when Cristina left, which I think is season 10 but after season 2 frankly, Grey's gets kind of fuzzy for me because it was strange, I'd find, like, two seasons trash and then one season really good and then the other season mediocre but with one or two really stand out episodes so I have to refresh my memory and I definitely won't really remember much minor/side characters like Shane.
I went through a phase where I caught up on Grey's through youtube vids of certain ships so I'm fairly certain I saw the whole devolution of Japril which included when they lost their first child because I remember when Jackson tried to comfort her and suggested trying for another baby and April freaks out and then I believe she leaves, right? and then she comes back and wants him back or something then they have another kid and then there's a whole custody thing or something because I remember Jackson tries to talk to her and she slams the door in his face or something and he kicks it or something and I was like whoa, Japril got really toxic in the time that I haven't been watching.
Lexie:
With Lexi, I just didn’t get the point of her. Every time she was onscreen I was just like, why are you here, what do you bring, what IS your personality, are you just the nice mousy girl who got to have a father in Thatcher and then get annoyed at Meredith when she has hangups about the life you got when he didn’t fight for her? Like who ARE you and why do I care about you? That was me every time she was onscreen. I mean, that’s also partially my thing, I don’t think I’m a very forgiving person so her insistence on being a part of Meredith’s life and begging her to give Thatcher a transplant because he was such a good father to her even though he wasn’t to Meredith just bothered me and she bothered me.
