monica being the BIG big bad is making me happy like that's my rose! me actually liking nolan. harper/lopez was so fun to watch and undercover lucy had me giggling and kicking my feet and screaming at my screen like i was so worried for her. wopez, grey being boss. no bailey. but the whole corrupt therapist bit had me rolling my eyes at how both cliche and glaringly obvious it was, like she would've been great as just the therapist they didn't have to do that. also the secret big bad is who? what happened to that guy at the start of that season that got shot? does it even connect??
#praying they give me a good cliffhanger preferably lucy centric#pwease#excited for next week but mourning#the rookie#6x09

I feel like there was some serious foreshadowing in that final Chenford clip. Tim asking her to take him seriously if he ever sounds the alarm about something. I’m feeling a serious cliffhanger at the end of the season (and I’m kinda here for it, they haven’t let me down this season and I think it’s going to end on a major high and the return for season 6 will be incredibly worth it)

Gotham! Jervis falling in love with a cop! reader please :>
A/N: Alice will never be written as related to Gotham!Jervis. Also this might have slight yandere-ish traits since Jervis is delusional af.
Left this on a small cliffhanger so if you want me to continue this let me know. Sorry for the wait.
Gotham!Jervis Tetch
Relation: Situation ship (a relationship that hasn't been explicitly defined) but progresses to Romantic.
You, like most of your colleagues, probably met him for the first time when he raided the GCPD searching for Alice.
You were trying to escort one of the rookie officers, who had been hit when the raid happened, to safety.
Two big men who looked like wrestlers had jumped up onto the desks a few minutes earlier and started shooting up the place, wounding some officers in the process.
You might not have noticed him at that moment but oh he noticed you.
He didn’t understand how or why but you practically stuck out like a sore thumb in his eyes. He’d have to deal with you later though.
After Alice’s death, tormenting Jim, and being sent to Arkham, that's when Jervis saw you for the second time.
You had accompanied Captain Barnes at his request. Just for the extra support and to be a bodyguard basically.
Jervis is ecstatic when he sees you.
He’s grinning like the Cheshire Cat and waving at you all giddy like.
He pouts a bit when you don’t acknowledge him.
Barnes ordered you to wait outside the caged room.
After a while of integration and threatening, Barnes finally got frustrated and stormed out.
You started to follow after him before Jervis called out to you.
“Don’t leave just yet, my dear”
He leaned his body in your direction.
Though the handcuffs that were chained to the table didn’t give him much
“Without you my heart will fear, the emptiness that you'll leave behind will be a pain that's hard to find”
You mentally cringed at his words.
Rhymes to be exact.
You looked behind you to check that Captain Barnes wasn’t waiting up for you.
The hallway was empty.
You faced Jervis again, seeing now he had a giddy smile on his face.
He enjoyed observing your actions.
You showing signs of hesitation to leave right now and follow after your boss made him feel all sorts of things.
Giddy being the main one.
You open your mouth to speak but jump when Barnes’ booming voice shoots out from your radio yelling your name.
To jervis’ dismay, you quickly exit the visiting cell and speed walk down the halls.
The sound of your boots echoing til you leave the building.
Jervis pouted for the rest of the day at the fact he didn’t get to hear your voice.
He so craved to know what you sounded like.
Was it angelic like a morning dove?
Or perhaps thunderous like a lion's roar?
Whatever the matter.
He’d see you again soon.
He’ll make sure of it.

Ranking The Rookie's season finales
I tried to be fairly objective, but yeah, that didn't really happen. Oh well, here we go!
6) SEASON 2 (The Hunt): When this first aired, it felt like huge stakes and was so stressful, but now, it just doesn't hit as well. I hate Armstrong was a dirty cop. Nolan was just acting dumb in this ep (shocker, I know). 😂 I didn't like Tim's sudden change of heart to make things work long-distance with Rachel, although we all know how that worked out. So yeah, it goes in last place.
5) SEASON 1 (Free Fall): They definitely weren't going as big with the finales yet, although this is a great Chenford episode, and there was a little cliffhanger with whether Tim would be ok. I wasn't as invested with the show yet when this aired. Tim was still my least fave character at the time, and I almost didn't come back for S2. I'm so glad I did, though!
4) SEASON 6 (Escape Plan): I might feel differently over time ranking it here, but for now, this is where it lands. It was...good, I guess. The truck scene was *chef's kiss*. But SO MANY VILLAINS. I couldn't keep up because every two minutes there was a new name or new character. I still don't know how it ties back to the beginning of S6. 🤷♀️ And while I never expected Chenford to get back together here, I'm still sad they're broken up in the first place. The elevator scene was sort of hopeful, but I think we deserved a little bit more.
3) SEASON 4 (Day in the Hole): If it wasn't for the insanely boring Nolan desert plot that went on FOREVER, this one would be higher. Because the Dim & Juicy doppelganger plot was the most delightfully unhinged story they've created, and it was so much fun. And our very first Chenford kiss! That kiss saved my summer that year. I had butterflies for weeks, and was just so giddy.
2) SEASON 3 (Threshold): This is how you do a season finale. I love this ep so much. Lots of high stakes. I loved the flirting scene. And even though I've never been crazy about Lucy being UC, she does an incredible job throughout the ep. I love Tim being Man of Honor and trying to save Angela's wedding. And of course, SAVE ME A DANCE. GEEZ, that scene is everything. 🫠 Then Angela being kidnapped at the end as the cliffhanger. I literally threw a pillow at the tv when this ep ended because those last few minutes were just SO MUCH.
1) SEASON 5 (Under Siege): This one has the highest stakes out of any of the finales, and a huge cliffhanger. So many scary moments for the squad, especially not knowing if Aaron would be ok. Tim and Lucy's hug was beautiful, as all of theirs are, and their fight scene was incredible. "I'm happy it's you at my six." ❤️ This finale just feels the most cohesive, and it works really well.
I'd love to know your rankings, too!

Oneshot #3
Thank you to @chokepoints for the inspo! (Sorry for @ing you in advance...)
Initiation.
Word count: ~2.2k
TW: Misogyny (especially in the beginning, g/t fearplay, mentions of vore(nothing actually happens), a horrid rancid cliffhanger of an ending that will probably destroy you
Story under the cut!!
Initiation. It was something all Hunters had to go through before they could be officially licensed. So, Faeryn obviously had to go through it as well. Normally, it was a simple job. Something a beginner could do. But, since the Faction consisted of a mainly male demographic, and since Faeryn was an obvious runt of the troupe, she obviously got the worst thing in the world.
Everyone could catch a rookie-level criminal or vanquish a particularly vicious goblin, sure, but obviously that was too ‘easy’ for an initiation. Much less Faeryn’s initiation. So, she found herself sitting across the the table from the Captain of her troupe, his chin resting on his palm as he slid a neatly-sealed scroll over to end of the table. She grimaced, shrinking back from his scrutinizing gaze and examining the old, beaten paper, carefully taking it up in her hands.
“Is this what everyone gets?” She asked, turning it over and breaking said seal with her nails, unravelling the paper on the desk.
“Not exactly. But since your the runt, we- meaning me and the other captains- figured it would take a little something extra to prove your worth.” The captain stated, a snide taunt slipping into his tone. Faeyrn gave a slight eyeroll but didn’t question his intentions.
“Mhm…” She muttered, reading over the pretty cursive writing clearly written by a captain from a different troupe. It was a long message, but she got the main points of it. And they weren’t exactly good points, either.
In simple terms, it was a giant monster. In more complicated terms, said monster was ‘terrorizing nearby towns’ and ‘eating poor citizens alive’ and doing general giant monster things. And Faeyrn was supposed to kill said giant monster. Great…
“Well? Do you accept the job? It’s for your initiation…” The captain taunted again, tilting his head innocently to the side. Faeyrn twitched at his smooth, almost mocking tone. She crossed one leg over the other, leaning back in her chair and looking up from the scroll.
“I accept.” She said matter-of-factly. His face cracked into an even wider grin and he took the broken seal, putting the two pieces together again. They shifted and merged together once more and he looked up at her.
“Then give me your hand.” He ordered. Faeyrn grimaced, swallowing her fear. This was a normal process of initiation, wasn’t it? Right. She’d done this before, anyway,
She held out her left hand and the captain placed the stamp on the back of her palm. The magic quickly worked as intended, the stamp embedding in her skin and blending in as it usually did. It would fall out when the job was done. And then, she’d be an official Hunter.
“Now go. Your time starts now.” The captain shooed her away and she stood, thumping her chest twice with her right hand in the typical salute before exiting the office. She felt the other troupe members eyes on her back as she headed back to her tent. They saw the stamp in her hand, they knew what it meant. Initiation had begun, and most expected Faeyrn to die in the process.
She tried not to let the looks bother her as she walked into her tent, heading for her cot and crouching under, grabbing her crossbow and quiver of arrows. She swung the quiver on her back, hooking the crossbow on as well. She had everything, right?
“You really think you have what it takes to be a giant-killer, Feefee?” A painfully recognizable voice crowed from the shadows. Faeyrn heaved a long sigh, turning to face the newcomer.
“Jaxon. Didn’t expect you to be back from your mission so soon.” She spoke calmly, pinching the bridge of her nose. Jaxon barked a laugh and stepped closer.
“You know he’s only trying to get rid of you, Feefee. We all are. You don’t belong in the Faction. You dont belong as a Hunter.”
Of course the man was starting the same exact tirade he always did. Faeyrn huffed, grabbing her cloak off her cot and wrapping it around her shoulders.
“I know. I seriously don’t have time for this, Jax.” Faeyrn yawned dramatically just to prove her point. She pulled a piece of cloth from the pouch around her waist, using it to tie her messy hair up into a ponytail.
Jaxon still continued. Because of course the guy didn’t know when to quit. “I’m just saying! If anything, I’ll be shocked if that thing leaves you fully intact. You know, in one piece and all. But hey! Atleast if it eats you, then it’s one less opportunistic rat to deal with, huh?”
“Goodbye, Jaxon.” She didn’t let him know how much the comment hurt her already butchered ego. She straightened the supplies on her back, brushing past him and heading towards the exit of the camp. Jaxon’s expression twisted into rage before he calmed himself down, scowling disdainfully.
“FINE! ENJOY EVAPORATING IN STOMACH ACIDS, BITCH.” She distantly heard the insult as she headed towards the exit. Jaxon stormed off the other direction, shoving off any questions shot his way as Faeyrn avoided curious and mocking glances from her fellow troupe members.
“Good luck…” The man guarding the camp directed a salute her way, which she returned with a nod. “May the stars lead you.”
“Thank you.” Faeyrn managed to keep her voice level he wished her luck. She stared at the stamp in her darker tan skin and huffed. She had to get this done if she wanted to be a real Hunter.
She trekked through the forest for who-knows how long before she managed to pull herself out of the brush and emerge in a partially destroyed little town. She cringed at the sight, moving throug the ruins cautiously.
She stepped over ruined market stalls and scrabbled through upturned, destroyed houses, cringing even more as the stench of death and the iron scent of blood filled her senses, She sighed, kneeling down, tracing a finger through a puddle of blood. Fresh…and it didn’t come from a human.
She had a lead, that was for sure. She stood, taking in the disasterous claw marks and the restraints and weapons lying abandoned. Faeyrn grimaced, running a hand through her hair as she paced the destruction. She needed tracks…and she wasn’t seeing any. This was bad…
Think, Faeyrn. Clearly the monster caused this. But where were the tracks?? Gods, it couldn’t be this hard to track somrthing the size of two trees stacked on top of each other, right??
She paused, looking around, envisioning the scene in her head. Them monster starting to destroy the area…the fighters of the village struggling to restrain it, and obviously failing. The beast retreating back once it’s hunger was satiated and it’s lust for blood was satisfied. It was a simple process, easy to imagine as well with all the visual assistance.
She scanned the ruins, noticing a pattern. The mostly untouched areas were more towards the north, while the destruction got worse the further south it got. She turned north, direction her attention there, and continuing the journey.
The forest was rough to walk through, and the brambles seemed to get sharper and more unforgiving the further she went, but Faeyrn pushed through, eventually emerging through a thicket, breathing heavily and trailing her eyes upwards.
A massive, looming cave soared high above her, the mouth of it looming like the jaws of the beast she was hunting. She sighed. Initiation was calling her. This was what she had to do.
She wiped the dried blood off her face, noting the new, thin scratches on her cheek and across the bridge of her nose. Drawing the crossbow and locking an arrow into it, she took the first few steps into darkness.
Stalactites far above her head cast an eerie glow about the place, but she pressed on, noticing the bones of deer, bears, and even the occasional horse lining the walls. Strangely, no human bones though. Of course human bones wouldn;t be here, though. The beast probably ate them alive, bones and all.
Faeyryn shook her head, She couldn’t back out now. She was about to call out before a loud hiss broke through the dark recesses of the cave.
She stopped in her tracks as the hiss faded into a pathetic, half-hearted snarl. Something was off. She took another step forwards. Another hiss. She dutifully took a step back.
This was getting complicated. Clearly something was wrong. She decided to ignore the warnings, walking closer.
Something clawed the ground, emitting a loud screech of sharp talons against solid rock. A voice roared from the darkness, making Faeyrn recoil and fall backwards.
“GET OUT.” Two words. A terrified order. Faeyrn grunted, standing back up, leaving the crossbow on the ground.
The voice sounded male as well. There was a sorrowful tone to it, like someone had been crying. Faeyrn sighed, deciding to make herself known.
“I- who are you?” It was a bad idea. A shadow surged from the back of the cavern, and siddenly Faeyrn found herself gripped tightly between claws digging into her midsection. Her back hit keratin, then the keratin punched into the stone wall. She grimaced, clawing at the hand holding her hostage.
“I SAID GET OUT. I- I’LL EAT YOU IF YOU DON’T.” The disembodied voice roared the empty threat in her ears and she flinched from the volume. She groaned, both from the pain and the sharp ringing in her ears. She struggled to swing around, managing to grab her dagger from her side, since her right arm was locked in the fist. She struggled before stabbing the blade into her captors fingers.
The beast cried out and dropped her, clutching its wounded limb to its chest with a pathetic whimper. Feayrn darted out of reach, grabbing her crossbow from the ground and aiming for the sweetspot. She had to kill this thing, There was no doubt about it.
But…something was off. She wanted to see what was wrong, because something clearly was. She lowered the weapon after a moment while the monster still whimpered. Sure, it sounded male, sure, but it also sounded significantly younger. Odd…
She sighed. “Did I hurt you?”
A pause. The whimpering stopped. The beast scowled for a moment before humph-ing and shifting around.
“I said get OUT.” A demand through tears, Faeyrn forced her fear back down her throat and continued speaking.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you. Can I see who you are first..?” She took a step closer. The giant beast sucked in a shaky breath. It(he?) hesitated.
Eventually, a face came into view. Then, a whole body. The monster was easily over twenty feet tall, and he had an overall scary appearance to him. He looked human, for the most part, with raven-black hair and big, fearful eyes. Human- if you could ignore the size and the massive badger paws that he had instead of actual hands. And- the other badger-like features as well.
Faeyrn took in his appearance, mouth slightly agape as he shifted uncomfortably. Faeyrn sighed, taking a few steps closer. She couldn’t kill him…could she…?
“Your hurt.” She spoke softly, approaching him cautiously as he quivered, his massive claws twitching dangerously.
“What’s it to you, human!? Do you care?” He shot back, a sharp snarl in his voice as he let her approach.
She sighed, setting the crossbow back on the floor and reaching into the pouch on her waist again, grabbing some spare cloth.
She carefully balled the cloth up, wiping the blood off of the monsters face, resting her hand on his face for a moment.
“You were the one who destroyed the town? Your barely even an adult…weird.”
He cringed, hesitating before nodding. He moved away, sitting up, hugging his arms to his chest and hiding his face.
“I didn’t- want too. They sent people to hunt me. They chased me here and I- defended myself, I guess.”
Faeyrn acknowledged the explanation, taking it into account and staring at the stamp embedded into her hand again. She decided not to think about the job for now.
“So you were trying to defend yourself. Like any animal would do. I don’t think your a vicious predator, anyway. If that matters.”
She took a chance and carefully approached once again. The beast gave some sort of a smile. Heaving a tired sigh. Maybe this would work in Faeyrns favor…
“Thanks. I guess. Never talked to aa human who wasn’t trying to kill me.” He glanced downwards, studying the newcomer who was being strangely civil.
Faeyrn forced a nod, smiling, her left hand twitching as the stakes of her initiation dawned on her. Don’t think about that. Not now.
“Well..I’ll leave if you’d like me too, then.” She sighed, turning to the exit. He was a bit hurt to watch her leave, following before stopping once she turned around.
“Uh- uhm…good luck out there.” He murmured before retreating back into the cavern. She smiled slightly, exiting the dark cave. She’d made up her mind.
She grabbed a bomb from one of the heavy-duty pouches, staring at it before turning it over in her hands.
Then, she pulled the pin, and tossed it towards the mouth of the cave.

okay, i have to know your theories for that eddie pic
This is the picture we're talking about, for reference.
Again, I want to reiterate that I have not seen 7x05. If I had, I would not be answering this question.
But I *want* this to be Eddie's "OH" moment. I want this to be Eddie turning back to Buck and realizing that there are feelings he doesn't understand, but he knows they go beyond friendship.
I want Eddie to be looking back at Buck, but Buck doesn't see this. Buck doesn't see Eddie's expression here.
That stolen look loaded with meaning for Eddie would give this character the time and space to discover how he feels about Buck while Buck figures out what he likes in a relationship, too. Maybe that means Buck is still dating Tommy. Perhaps that means Buck is dating someone else. I want to see more of Buck and Tommy's relationship.
Either way, it could easily introduce a season's worth of pining and longing and yearning between Buck and Eddie.
I'd love it if it played out like THIS scene from The Rookie 4x22, "Day in the Hole." I don't think Buck and Eddie will kiss like Lucy and Tim did. I think that would be way too early for Buck and Eddie. But Tim definitely has his "OH" moment on the other side of the door.
It seems like Eddie's could happen on the OTHER side of the door.
Do I think this would make a good, engaging cliffhanger to keep fans abuzz during the hiatus before Maddie and Chimney's wedding (assuming that takes place in 7x06. I don't know, though.)? YES.
Really, I could write about this all day. But I'll stop. For now.

Okay, so I have words I’d like to share…I said this last night on Twitter but forgot to bring this into here.
“Okay my brain is coming back after some cries. Lucy’s clearly bothered by the break-up. Hence the venting to grey and the hallway bump-in with Tim, which a definitely awkward. Tim seems bothered by it, too, especially since it seems like he can’t even focus while driving.
I don’t think this is the end for chenford. They clearly still love each other, and they’ve built their relationship on a very strong foundation. It’s just post-breakup stress! I don’t think it should take long for them to get back together, nor do I think it will.
To sum the short essay up… Eric said “breakups and makeups” we have exactly three episodes 7-10, for them to talk things over and get back together. That’s plenty of time. And anything can happen *ahem near-death* which brings them back together.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: I don’t suggest giving up on chenford yet. There’s still a long road ahead, this is just one of those potholes that fucks up your tires, but can easily get fixed. (I’ve never driven, I’m just saying this)
Also, renew the rookie, please! The end! (Not really. That’s just essay one)
IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS BREAKUP is to keep us hungry, to ask for more. I mean that is what a cliffhanger is, no? They know what we want, they’ve heard us. Maybe this time we’ll get everything we missed out on in the beginning of their relationship? It’s a clean slate.
Also, one more thing: chenford is fine, they’ll get back together, how do I know this? 6.02! The amount of proposal foreshadowing? Tim on one knee.
“Some people want diamond rings”
The I love yous! They’re fine!
Besides, it’s Tim and Lucy they’re obsessed with each other. They won’t stay apart for long.
Anywho, enough of the chenford essays, I have a fic for last night’s episode coming soon! Byeeee

I just finished watching Love Syndrome: The Beginning and... I actually really liked what they did with the source material. It's interesting that this and the series are by the same production company and director but other than the choice of skinny jeans (someone must have been a big fan lmao) and Tuss reprising his role as Neil, the movie has a very different vibe imo.
It's also unfinished, meaning it ends on a cliffhanger with a big 'to be continued' - which probably isn't intentional seeing as they were originally aiming for a cinematic release (not to mention the sudden passing of the producer/director). I can't blame them either because I think they made the deliberate decision to mostly leave this as is to honour the director's final work:
As it is, I think the movie is a very solid piece of entertainment with some really nice acting, especially by Bix Tagon as Itt.
I've read most of the novels in the Love Syndrome universe and they're actually very same-y with the same non-con kink repeated throughout pretty much every couple's story (and there's A LOT of couples). This is why Day and Itt were never my faves (especially since the tropes really be troping with these two) and tbh I wasn't really into Long and Frank's version of them either (which isn't their fault at all - I just don't think Frank was a good fit for Itt), but Nef and Bix really make them work for me this time.
For one, there's zero romanticisation. Day is positively unhinged and there's zero doubt that Itt is the victim here. The scenes between them are incredibly brutal to watch but at the same time there's this almost stageplay-like feeling to them - as if every little piece of dialogue and acting has its place and nothing is drawn out or glossed over. I really appreciated that (as difficult as their scenes were to watch). I don't think that's easy to accomplish. I saw in some of the bts that they worked closely with either an acting coach or an intimacy coordinator (or both) throughout the filming of Day and Itt's scenes and imo it really shows. As bad as it sounds because Day is such a horrible person and Itt is straightup going through hell, theirs really were the most interesting scenes in the movie for me.
According to MDL Nef and Bix are rookie actors too so kudos to them for doing an incredible job. I hope we get to see more of them especially since Day and Itt's story is far from finished and I'd really like to see if they can pull off the transition from toxic hate to toxic love (imo it didn't work at all in the series, mostly because it started with book 3).
As for Gear and Night, they chose to almost completely sanitise their story (except for the initial bet itself) which imo was a good choice because in the novel reading about the same trope over and over again got tired real fast. Night takes Gear back relatively quickly and then they just pick up where they left off (but with Night more or less in control now).
Plus, Tiger Tanawat (who btw is a Change 2561 artist) as Night is such a mood:
I already loved Rossi as Night but dang (also, I need that shirt). 🫠
There's also some cute Four and Gus moments that unfortunately (or fortunately - seeing as how the writer of the novel also seems to have an age gap kink that's better left unmentioned 😬) gloss over most of their story. Knot, Fu and Neil kind of appear but that's about it.
I wonder - providing we ever get to see the second part of this movie - if they'll scrap the horrible Neil as the villain side plot or not because I could totally do without that. 😬😬
That being said, if you thought The Effect was difficult to stomach then you probably shouldn't watch this. Love Syndrome never hides the fact what it is about but it unfortunately doesn't offer any content warnings. Its SA scenes are explicit and realistic so if that's upsetting to you please please don't watch this. 🙏
#love syndrome the beginning#jane watches stuff#spoilers#love syndrome spoilers#i might make some character gifs later#nothing spicy bc i'm uncomfy w that in this context#but bix is just too pretty not to gif#also still trying to figure out why ming scares me and day doesn't#maybe because ming is more nuanced#while day is way more unrealistic
