Okay. Listen. Kitsune!Mizu, a great idea, but what about Dragon!Mizu? Hear me out.
Mizu means water, so what if she's like a river spirit or guardian? Like Haku from Spirit Away? I just think she would look AMAZING as a dragon.
STOOOOOOPPP! Now i an imagining that whole scene with Chihiro and Haku when they're falling but it's now the reader and Mizu falling.
And then Mizu changes and she's carrying the reader.

Aki - Naju - Arthael - How you first meet them
✧・゚: Masterlist :・゚✧
Tags: @kiasnocturnality - tell me if you wanna be tagged in these too! ✦
When you first met Aki, you were a traveller using the forest as a shortcut to a nearby village for supplies. What you failed to realise was that this wasn't your forest, nor did it belong to anyone really.
However, the golden eyes that followed your every movement from the trees above belonged to who many would deem the guardian of these woods. An indescribable feeling engulfed your entire form for a good long while, impossible to shake off, and it became clear to you that maybe you should have taken a longer route, maybe you were entering a territory unwelcome to outsiders.
Still, gulping the lump down in your throat and clutching your knapsack tightly, you pushed on, shivers tickling your spine every so often no matter how much you ignored them. A sudden lingering presence from behind had you swiftly craning your neck back and yet...
Nothing.
Nothing until a voice brought your attention forward again.
"And what would a human be doing loitering around the forest unattended on a late afternoon like this?"
It was a stranger, quite a handsome one, but a closer inspection had you catching a look at large fox ears angled slightly back in caution, and by his waist seven large tails protruding from behind him, all raised above the ground in trepidation.
A kitsune, you realised in apparent shock. A seven tailed kitsune and what you presumed to be the guardian of this forest.
Immediately you explained yourself, nothing more than a mere traveller looking for supplies, nothing more than (what you hoped) a small inconvenience in his path and that you would be on your way and out of his forest in no time.
His expression was unreadable - did you disgust him with your pathetic attempt to persuade him to let you go? Was he amused? Upset?
He hummed, shutting his eyes in thought and crossing his arms over his chest.
"Very well, be on your way. Be mindful you don't disturb the others on your way out."
You could only blink in confusion. That was it?
"If you're really only here to cross the forest then I have no interest in your endeavours."
He sent you off after that, but you had the strangest feeling that you would encounter him again sometime in the future.
Najusyram hadn't seen a human in a while, not that he minded not seeing one. He simply thought it.
His senses snapped into focus one humid morning and from the distance he could hear a cry, a plea for help. Some of the inhabitants of the jungle could be fairly aggressive and so he thought one of them might have snatched up some unlucky soul.
Until he heard fervent splashing.
Quickly, he slammed his book down and slithered down by the river stream in haste, diligently dodging thick trunks and protruding leaves along the way. He didn't expect to find a human fanatically waving their hands about in the strong current but it wasn't the strangest or worst thing he had seen. By the looks of things, they were moving down towards the peak of the foamy waterfall until they managed to grip onto what looked like a log jutting out from the land he stood.
Okay, that was good. Now all he had to do was jump in and pull them out. Except...
Naju's revealed appearance seemed to have made the situation worse. The human screamed louder and accidentally let go of the log, accusing the naga of being a monster, and now they were heading directly for the cliff. He simply sighed, of course - he forgot that humans don't tend to react kindly to beings like him, or rather his lower half.
He managed to get them out of the water eventually, when he curled his vibrant tail around a trunk to keep him in place as he stretched his body out and plucked the human from the river.
They were calm now, much calm yet still so wary of Naju, watching him wring water from the tips of his sunset locs in fascination before he turned to face them, or rather look down over them with kind yet piercing burning eyes.
"I'm Najusyram, what were you doing by the river?" he asked gently, mindful that the human was still not sure about him.
Yet they gave their name in return and explained that they were there to collect water only to fall in; however, they stopped talking suddenly, looking around in progressive panic while patting down their body. Until, as if he read their mind, Naju held out his hand and sitting in his fingers was the strap belonging to their knapsack.
"You left it by the river bank, silly thing," he teased, and reached out to ruffle the human's hair when they took their bag back.
"Come on, it's best you don't linger in one place in the jungle for too long. I'll take you back to my library."
Arthael never took on apprentices. They would only abuse his time and effort, time he could use to do more productive things, effort he could invest in to find more about his past.
Jewel was driving the carriage into the market and from within, Arthael and Seraphina sat opposite to each other, both silent as they took in the surprised gasps of commonfolk outside.
At first he thought it was because The Hemit Sorcerer had finally come down to the nearby village to retrieve a few things, that his presence had made such an impression that he was now drowning in the shock of others. That quickly turned out not to be the case and instead someone must've caused a large commotion because soon Jewel was urging the horses to halt.
Seraphina watched as her master's brows drew into a frown, before he took his cane and tapped the head against the roof.
"What is it?" He communicated with his servant telepathically.
Jewel's voice came immediately, "Sir, there's been a commotion. It appears a fight has broken out in the market."
Arthael sighed, he really had no time for this. Yet strangely he found himself stepping out from the carriage, his heels clicking on the ground as they met the cobblestone road.
His sights set on a human standing over a group of what appeared to be beaten bodies still wriggling about and groaning in pain, the assailant's hands drenched in magic and their eyes full blown wide in anger. From behind them, a smaller frame cowered away, a girl. He put two and two together - a group of no lives seeking to quench their bordom by harrassing someone weaker than them.
He nearly scoffed but stopped when the human aimed their attention towards him, watching, waiting. They must've mistaken him to be the gangleader or something along those lines because in the next moment they were hurling a spell towards him.
Strong, determined... but reckless, so very reckless - he could feel it.
And even though he waved the offending spell off like nothing, he could sense potential. They had already defeated a group on their own, imagine if they were coached into something far greater.
His amber eyes lingered on their face, on their fiery eyes and lips gaping in astonishment.
What if for once in his long life he decided to take on an apprentice?

もっと好きな漢字: Yokai
I wanted to make a special post for some kanji that occupy a similar space in my head, that being yokai. I think many of us are familiar with yokai, even if we don’t realize it, from the fascinating faces of Studio Ghibli to the adorable little creatures of Pokémon and similar works (the most obvious being Yo-kai Watch).
This won’t be a comprehensive look at all yokai, as that’s virtually impossible, but instead an overview of yokai with some well-known examples (and their related kanji).
妖怪 (yōkai)
For the first time, I’m dealing with two kanji at once! The first kanji singularly means bewitching or attractive, while the second means suspicious or mysterious. This I think encapsulates the duality of yokai; they’re both beautiful and dangerous, very charming and unsettling.
Yokai encompasses a wide variety of supernatural creatures, being gods and demigods, good guys and bad guys, helpers and deceivers and everything in between. The breadth of yokai and variations across time and space are virtually infinite. For brevity, we will only be looking at the most popular ones.
狐 (kitsune)
The kanji for kitsune consists of two radicals; the leftmost is often used to indicate animals (and will be reappearing in this list), while the rightmost part, 瓜, means melon, but the reason for using this radical remains a mystery to me. It can straightforwardly mean fox, but in the mythological sense, it can also mean “fox spirits.”
These fox spirits possess supernatural abilities such as shape-shifting and can be venerable figures or conniving tricksters. The nice ones often serve as guardians or messengers for the Shinto god (or goddess) Inari. Perhaps the most iconic feature of the kitsune is their many tails, of which they can have up to nine, symbolizing their age and/or power.
狸 (tanuki)
Tanuki uses the same leftmost radical as kitsune, with the rightmost 里, meaning village, deriving its onyomi reading. The tanuki and kitsune have other similarities, as both can shape-shift and can be seen as trickster characters. These iconic creatures are all over Japanese pop culture, from Studio Ghibli’s Pom Poko to the wonderful Tanooki Mario.
It’s worth noting that tanuki, much like kitsune, are based off of a real animal, the Japanese raccoon dog of the same name. I understand that they populate parts of Europe and Asia, but we don’t have them in America, so I think they’re neat! As such, the yokai of tanuki can also be referred to as 化け狸 (pronounced bakedanuki), with bake alluding to shape-shifting.
鬼 (oni)
Oni can be roughly translated to demon, devil, or ogre, and indeed they are typically large ogre-like creatures with horns protruding from their heads and skin that is red, black, or other colors. They also tend to don a loincloth made of tiger skin and a club. Traditionally, they are portrayed as brutishly strong, as well as murderous and even cannibalistic.
To me, oni feels the most omnipresent in Japanese culture out of all these yokai. They’re a frequent feature of Japanese architecture, they’re central to rituals for 節分 (setsubun), a holiday celebrating the first day of spring, and they’re prominent in many Japanese folktales such as Momotaro and the legend of Shuten-dōji.
河童 (kappa)
The kappa is one of my personal favorites, a yokai that makes its home in rivers and is usually about the size of a human child, hence the kanji meaning “river child.” They are typically green and possess the characteristics of birds and turtles. A distinct feature of theirs is a bowl of water on their heads; if the water spills out, they become weaker.
To me, kappa are interesting because they can be quite vicious and even murderous, but they can also be tricked or bargained with. While they are sighted as a cause for children drowning in rivers, they can also be swayed by a delicious crunchy cucumber. This is where a type of sushi roll with cucumbers called 河童巻 (kappamaki) gets its name.
天狗 (tengu)
It is alleged that tengu may be derived from the Chinese word tiāngǒu (written the same as tengu), a dog-like creature that evilly devours the moon as a stand-in for a lunar eclipse. The tengu, however, is a creature with bird and human characteristics. It is often described as goblin-like along with having a long nose and feathery wings.
Tengu reside over mountains and forests and are sometimes said to embody the spirits of warriors. Often malignant, tengu may disguise themselves as ascetic monks who dwell in the mountains, or 山伏 (yamabushi), to lead people astray. But modern incarnations sometimes give the tengu a more protective, albeit still menacing, role.

The Moon and The Sun
Love n angst
Idk how to tag this hope you enjoy. I didn't reread this so if there are any mistakes I'm sorry
The moon and sun two siblings who adored one another the moon was calming and beautiful. Skin like the night sky with stars that cover his body like stars eyes an icy blue and hair long silvery white he was tall and slim. He lay in the sky pushing and pulling the ocean waves like rocking the earth gently. He guards the earth and its people as they rest his name was Andrian.
His sister, though, was the sun with hair red as blood and skin, a bronze as if working hard in the sun and eyes like the earths dirt, rich and warm. Where Andrian was tall and slim, she was short and curvy. Where he was calm, she was blazing she was nurturing, casting light to the people of earth. She brightened the sky so much so everything began to revolve around her. Her name is Reina.
"Brother, I wish to visit the earth ." Reina says, watching adoringly as humans worked hard for their crops and livestock. "I know you love humans, but remember, they are greedy creatures, sister they'll want and want and want some more until you have nothing left to give."
"Hmm, maybe, but I think you love them more than me, moon." The stars that cover his cheeks began to glow, and he was quick to correct himself. "Well, sun, how about a wager?" The sun glances at the moon "let us live among the humans and decide which of us loves the earthlings more the one who does the most loses, " He says. 'Sun is too bright and kind. I'll definitely win,' he thought.'You're on. I'll prove you love them more, Mr. Guardian, " She teases.
That is how the sun and moon walking among humans a glamor covering their existence but living eating hunting watching their love growing more each decade. Until..
Until the sun fell in love. He was a .an of weak constitution, dark hair, and eyes like the abyss she lights up. He was pale and skinny, but his smile was beautiful. He hummed a song gently from his bed, watching the wind blow the leaves, the sun's gentle warm light on his skin. "I know you're there. You don't have to hide. " she revealed herself against her better judgment and the moons warnings"
He stared in awe. She is bright in her yellow dress and flowing wavy hair. "..beautiful " his face flushed, and he was quick to look away. She sat beside him and looked him in the eyes. " You as well." They grew close while Andrian watched over the people. But all good things must end when she went to get her love fresh water from the river. When she returned, his home was in shambles, and he lay lifeless in his bed.
Humans had killed her love. Their greed took him from her before his sickness could. Her eyes welled with tears, and she set off to find them.
The moon was watching his favorite group of adventures laughing, singing, and eating. They stopped a monster from harming a village. A 6 tailed kitsune up on a mountain it was quiet for some time, but they hired the adventures to go check on it to see if it still resided there or take care of it permanently.
He was happy the humans whom he adored were safe they were delicate but dedicated little things. He had to admit he lost. He got up, ready to search for his sister when a ball of flame shot to the humans. But he was quick to stop it, his glamor releasing, and he stood towering above the humans by a good 5 more feet from the 5'9 the tallest humans height.
They stared in awe they knew he was there watching them, but he never harmed them, so they let him be. But out came a girl glowing rage in her eyes. 10'9 vs 5'1 "Move." She demanded "No Reina what's wrong? I've never seen you like this." He says soft but firmly. "You win brother, you love humans more so than I because my love is now gone from this world." " What do you mean, sister?"
"They killed him, their aura, their scent it's all over the house all over the forest trail! I want revenge! Now step aside." The moon was at war with himself he loved his elder sister, but he came to adore humans. "I'm sorry but I can't... I love humans, sister." He said the pain that flashed in her eyes was like a comet to his gut. His sister, who adored him, raised him, shared her light with him, who gave him the opportunity to know humans was hurting, and he was standing on the opposite side of her.
"Let us leave the earth are retun home," he pleads she struggles but gives in, and they leave back home to the sky, the moon tries many a years to talk to the sun but she locks herself away and sleeps. His heart aches, he misses the bright smile she wore but the sun burned brighter too hot for even he to get near so he kept his distance and only caught glimpses of her when they took their placed in the sky. They only came in contact during lunar and solar eclipses.
The sun burned bright. Any earthlings who gazed at her too long would risk damaging their eyes, and she burned brighter, hoping to burn out and join her love but they both knew it would be a long time before the sun died and the moon would follow because he'd no longer have light to give and he feared a life without his sister who he feels he betrayed.

Takumi or Zen mostly known was looking around trying to figure out what he should go. He already had some shopping basket in his right arm while being in his human appearance. Though, the dark red hair and blue eyes didn’t seem to change much. As he was doing just that, he didn’t know of the new male coming towards him.
“M..Maybe I should head this way for more things in that shop? Or maybe that one..” he sighed holding the small map but he really wanted to try finding something at least.
The newcomer in town. (open rp)
"So this is the new place? Looks good so far." Dan grinned just to himself as he watched people pass him by. "Wonder what problems I can cause here." He chuckled slightly, lifting his necklace up a bit to look at it "Hmm... Now should I change first? Nah, people don't know me here just yet." he muttered as he let it flop back down. "Who knows, you might make a new friend too, Danny boy." he chuckled again, leaving the alley and walked with the crowd.
Checking out all possible targets, shops, fast food places, banks, before setting his eyes on just one person. "Bingo~" he smirked, slowly walking towards them whilst thinking how he should... Introduce himself.

Mystery March 2021 day 18: Flower
She had been alive for a long time, even longer than she realized at first. It was difficult to keep track of. Her memory scarce and littered with centuries that flew past her icy prison. The glacier she was held in slowly cracked, melted away into rivers. Her roots drank eagerly, her body growing again.
If it wasn’t for the small animals and larger humans that took interest in her home’, she would have been trapped much longer.
But hot blood splashed, and new strength gave the ancient roots the ability to twist and squirm.
Until her body was finally released.
Her kimono was bleached and stained. The once red fabric, woven from the loose strands of many nine tails, lost its luster. Her father, the kitsune, would be disappointed.
Perhaps the red was sucked from it, stabilizing her long enough to live through immobilization and eternal winters.
When she finally stepped foot, and was met with water, she wondered what changes occurred over her expansive life. Parts of her old realities eroded, both from the ice and the food provided by a new guardian that saved her life.
She chose to categorize her life by the names she bore.
The first name... was long since forgotten. She had been forced to shed it when her fields grew weary, and only once flower remained of her. The sun was hidden by the rotten trees, and the skies covered by clouds of hatred.
When she bore her first name, she was sure she would die. Alone, perishing after years of survival. With no one left to appreciate the beauty and life she tried so desperately to sustain.
Then, a golden sheen of white fur surrounded her. A deep, playful grin that she couldn’t return.
A kitsune, her guardian, her father. The gifter of her precious red kimono.
Yellowing teeth glisten from the glow of his closed eye, before it sank down upon its paw.
The blood that trickled down her petals was intoxicating. Rich in flavor and texture, strong in the power given.
Her roots shot out. They claimed the trees. A field of red petals burst out from the branches, and her new form came.
And feasting upon the blood of her father, she was gifted a name. Akaihana.
A name she wore with pride. One that echoed through her forest along with tantalizing chimes. Bells, animal calls, a singing voice. Her father mimicked anyone, and together, they consumed armies.
Her heart was new and full, filled with a gleaming red. Powered by the deep crimson of human fools, and the delicious scent of her fathers essence.
Akaihana was grateful. Akaihana was willing to return the favor of life.
Her father smiled and sang to her, easing her through the process of learning to walk when she realized she could. Shifting into a form that resembled the humans. A way for Akaihana to lure in love stricken fools, earn riches and worshiped by wine drunken followers, and able to flee with her core if needed.
Akaihana never saw the point, but she was grateful to be gifted her fathers old clothes. She took on her duties well, learned even faster. She would make her nine-tailed father smile proudly upon her, and any corpse she brought for him.
It wasn’t long before Akaihana became hungry. The red of her trees lost their luster, the color draining until she became a sickening white. Purple and ivory bark turned tired and blue. Akaihana came to hate that blue, and sought to replace it with its warm reds again.
But no amount of blood or bodies would help her become warm again.
No, it was her fathers blood that helped her retain that beauty.
And in his immortal youth...
He became afraid, wary, secretive.
Her father looked upon her with disdain, even whilst upon her branches.
Akaihana only realized when her hatred for blue intensified. Her father left her in a single night, and returned while she starved. When he returned, a warrior cloaked in frost was with him, carrying a sword that made her branches cold and stiffen, made the life wilt and decay under its icy gaze.
Her father brought death upon Akaihana’s forest. The warrior coming directly for her, after her core.
The body her father instructed her to maintain, in order to save herself and flee, it was now her downfall.
The warrior didn’t kill Akaihana, however. Although she was convinced the blue human would have.
She didn’t realize it until she awoken again, this time with polluted air filling her lungs and making her white leaves shrivel in disdain.
The smell of rot wafted off skeletons. Their muscles and flesh stripped away by the force of her blue roots stabbing into them.
Only when she left the prison did Akaihana realize how much time had passed. She was bombarded, overwhelmed, her weakly pulsing heart straining to give her the energy to run from an unfamiliar reality marked by unfamiliar terrain and straining noises and smells
A crowd of poorly dressed warriors stood before her prison, waiting for her. Clutching torches, spears, speaking into boxes that had garbled words coming through. She was dizzy as they came close, stabbing their sticks into her.
Then, and only then, did she remember her father. The nine tailed coward who abandoned her for a warrior who incased her in purgatory. The betrayal stung, and the remains hurt worse.
‘Akaihana’ was nothing more than a reminder.
And the grief she felt fueled her roots to seize and strike against the onslaught.
Humans were weak, puny things. And in this new reality, they were even more pathetic. But with every corpses consumed, she found herself able to make out their words and expressions easier. Learning their language with every death.
The crowd was diminished, but she still starved.
Next, we’re the scarce villages. She wiped out entire communities as she followed a trail that she could hardly remember, following a sticky scent that was nearly nostalgic.
Her father was still alive. He had been all over this territory once, he had to be nearby.
She wishes she could sprout a flower to follow, similar to how she found him earlier under the name Akaihana.
But she didn’t have much lead besides the smell she followed.
As she traveled from village to village, word traveled faster. She would hear the occasional human speak of a white forest that was taking over the countryside. With yellow talons and blue bark.
It didn’t take her long to realize that the white forest was her, when she arrived upon a larger village, and the humans bombarded her with terrified screams and offerings to make her leave them be.
Shiromori.
She remembered the first human who uttered it to her, so scared and crumbled on the ground, with wine and riches on a platter made of red wood.
It was delightful, even more so when he and everyone else in the village filled her body with energy and sprouts grew from their corpses.
Shiromori.
Yes, that could be the marking of a new life that she planned to lead, in search of her hateful father.
She will ensure that he knew the centuries of betrayed burning inside his blue barked daughter, and she will plant acres of red trees from the remains of his corpse.
First a forgotten name, then Akaihana, and now, Shiromori.
A name she will wear with pride.

Monstober Day 15 - Yokai
Those who can see them are usually the ones who ayakashi target when they are hungry. Which means, I'm always targeted by them. That's why I will always offer them food first. - Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi, Vol 1 Chap 1
----
Yokai are a class of spirits in Japanese folklore that persist in pop culture even today. They're not demons, in the Western sense, but rather specters or spirits. There are many different types of yokai, that take on various forms. Some have animal features, others are humanoid, while others take after inanimate objects. Some take no form at all.
Other names for yokai include ayakashi (yokai that appear above a body of water) and mononoke (vengeful spirits). Their behavior can range from helpful to malevolent. Here are some of my favorites.
The Kappa resembles a humanoid turtle, with a dip, or dish on the top of their head filled with water. If the water spills from the dish, they are rendered immoobile until it's refilled with water from their river. If a person refills the dish the kappa will server them or all eternity. They range from mischievous to malicious when it comes to interscting with humans. Stories have them do everything from peek up women's kimonos to drown people. Their favorite food is cucumber :)
The Oni is a horned, ogre-like figure that is usually red, blue, or white in color, wearing a tiger pelt loin cloth and carrying a club. It is traditionally a wicked figure, with the festival of Setsubun perfectly encapsulating this image. Here people throw roasted soybeans at an "oni" (Usually someone in costume) while shouting Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" ("Oni go out! Blessings come in!"). However in modern times the oni has become more of a protector. Depicitions will be carved on buildings, for example, to dispel bad luck.
The Tengu is a trickster often thought to be the spirit of someone who was arrogant in life. They are often depicted as a long-nosed, winged beings that usually take the form of a priest. They are supposed to be skilled swordsmen and martial artists. Tengu are often depicted holding a feathered fan. In some stories this gives them the power to grow or shrink in size, but more popularly, it is said to stir up great winds.
Kitsune are intelligent foxes that grow more powerful as they age. All foxes in Japanese folklore have the power to shapeshift, though stories differ on whether they use this ability to trick humans or act as loyal friends and guardians. The benevolent ones are known as zenko while the mischievous and malevolent ones are yako or nogitsune (teen wolf fans I am looking at all of you specifically). Kitsune may have up to nine tails, and the more tails it has, the older and wiser it is. Most stories say that kitsune will only begin growing additional tales after it's 100th year.
Tsukumogami are tools that have aquired a kami, or spirit. The idea here is that after a life of service of over 100 years, these objects receive souls. As such, people would routinely throw out old objects during susu-harai (literally soot-sweeping, basically spring cleaning) to prevent them from becoming tsukumogami. Some comon items that could become yokai included lanterns (chōchinobake), straw sandals (bakezōri), and paper umbrellas (kasa-obake) among others. They're mostly harmless, just playing the occasional prank, though sometimes, if angered, would band together to take revenge on the person who threw them out wastefully or thoughtlessly. To prevent this, ceremonies are performed to console broken and unusable items to this day.
So if you needed a sign to throw out your junk before it gains sentience and causes problems for fun and profit... here it is I guess?

How do the foxes in the house feel about the snow?
"How do the foxes feel about the snow? It's lovely! I don't mind it!" Moonlight smiled as she was looking at the anon with a smile. The other foxes think about it.
"To me it's lovely. I love seeing the snow during the holidays. It's a nice time to just relax and see the snowflakes fall." Luna smiled with Shinji agreeing with her.
"Yeah, snow is so nice...." Takumi smiled with eyes closed. "Agreed.." Misako smiled too with Tsukiko nodding
"It's not bad. Snow tends to be cold but it's really pretty even when it's at night." Lisa giggled.
"I agree with that. Snow rocks and it's pretty good to use if you have some ideas for pranks." Lance snickered.
"Yes, the snow is not bad. Pretty relaxing to say the least...." Tsubaki smiled to agree as well.

“Y..Yes. It’s nice to finally meet you too, Mr. Kai.” Nobu showed a friendly happy smile on his face but he was also bowing his head in respect or a hello in his way.
“Hello Mr. Kagefumi it’s an honor to meet you and most know we do. Most either call me Hiroshi or Kai so it depends on which most use sir.” Hiroshi said looking to Kagefumi.

*once inside he would call the others* "Guys, your children's sweethearts are here"
Hiruko: *Hiruko who was training with Kai looked over as he came over* "we finally meet, its nice to meet you, Im Hiruko Hyabusa, im Momiji's Father meaning im Katsu's husband, and if my guess is right your Zen right?" *he asks looking toward Zen*
Kai: *he followed suit as he also introduced himself with his fan open covering his face before closing it* "I'm Kai Shiranui, im Sakura's Papa and im Damien's alluring husband" *he looks at Nobu with a smile* "My darling Sakura blossom spoke a lot about you, she definitely gets her flirty nature from Both me and her father thats for sure"
Kagefumi: *he was meditating as he had two White flame wisps around him before blowing them out coming over with his two fox tails swaying* "I'm Kagefumi Yūwaku, the kitsune hero known as Kyūbi Miwaku. Im Raizen's father making Reign my husband. So Hiroshi Kai was it? Raizen was right, You and Kai here both have the same name"
Hakutomi: *Hakutomi looked over as he sheathed his Katana, his tall muscular figure would surprise Hex* "I am Hakutomi Ishinaka, the Umbran demon slayer. Im Hokuto's father meaning im Quincy's husband...tell me...was Quincy going to sleep during your meeting?"

I ran a one shot campaign for my mom today. She’s never played D&D and is fairly unaware of any fantasy tropes and all gaming terms, so it took a little looking at things from a different direction, but I feel it went well, and she had fun. I ran a story based off Little Red Riding Hood, in which her character (Scarlet, an older Little Red) had to find the Witch of the Forest deep in the woods beyond Grandmother’s House to gain a dose of Wolvesbane flower to make a cure for her grandmother who had been infected by the pack of the werewolf who originally came after her and Little Red when she was a child.
I designed the encounters with the fact my mom doesn’t like violence in mind, so every encounter could be solved with social skills/stealth/etc. Even with that in mind she surprised me a few times. From the start she was very tactical in choosing which path to go down in the woods, realized her highest star was Dexterity, so she was able to get across a precarious slippery path over a river without falling and found a shortcut through the woods. She met a Worg who worked for the Werewolves, and she figured it was probably food motivated like other canines, so she tricked it into working with her by telling him she’d heard there was food in the heart of the Forest, and promising to get food from the Witch of the Wood if the Worg would protect her along the way. She avoided a Kobold ambush, then she met the Guardian of the Forest, an angel named Arbiter Thrask, and flattered him into letting her pass and giving her knowledge about the Witch. She learned that the witch tricked the denizens of the Forest, then stole the Arbiter’s heart and had been using it to twist and corrupt the woods.
She met with the Witch, who allowed her to enter her home (a giant petrified tree) if she desired to make a deal. This part was admittedly a rehash of the Hag encounter I ran for my Council of Thieves group, but she played it so perfectly I was really impressed. She definitely came out of it better than the other party, although admittedly this was a watered down version of said encounter.
She told the witch when she entered that she was looking to make two deals with her. First, she wanted food for the Worg, and in return she offered to be the forest’s protector, to keep those who would harm what belongs to the witch away. The witch found her binding herself to the Forest for all times an acceptable price, and she gave the Worg a giant leg of lamb that would every night regrow the meat that had been eaten from it. The Worg was dismissed from helping her and returned to the Werewolves with the boon.
Then Scarlet sprung the second part. She’d wanted the Worg gone so she could request not just Wolvesbane for her Grandmother, but enough to poison the entire tribe of Werewolves so they couldn’t seek revenge against her or the village once Grandmother was cured. She offered her first born child in return, and this offer was accepted. So, she seeped the Wolvesbane into a tea, and then used that to poison the infinitely regenerating lamb leg, poisoning the werewolves and saving the village from their threat. (So what I’m saying is my mom is the kind of D&D player who won’t fight things but will commit a war crime)
After that she wanted to skip ahead to when her character had her first born, because she wanted to save her child from the witch. She spent the next couple of years studying the witch, speaking with the Arbiter, and learned that as a fae creature she could be harmed by iron.
So after she fell in love and had her first born, she went seeking out the other two Guardians of the Forest, a trickster kitsune simply called Fox, and the Queen of the Fairies. She spoke to Fox first, and made a deal that if Fox would trick the Hag into drinking from a cup made with copper on the outside and iron on the inside, she would work for Fox for as long as she was bound to the Forest. Then she went back to the Arbitor to learn Fox’s relationship with the witch, worried that the Trickster might try to fool her. She learned Fox had poisoned the witch once before as a prank, and was punished by having the spirits of the dead follow her, the will-o-wisps always revealing her location so she could never hide and play her tricks. Knowing that the witch had been poisoned once before, she changed her plan. She went to meet with Fox and the Fairy Queen. She requested the Fairy Queen hide her child from the witch, and with a nat 20 diplomacy roll, the Fair Queen offered her one better, and replaced her child with a changeling so that even if their plan failed, the witch would spirit away the wrong child.
Then she requested that Fox take the iron from her weapon, which she hadn’t used the entire game, and contaminate the witch’s cauldron and the tip of the paddle used to stir it. To allow Fox to get into the witch’s home unnoticed, she went to the far end of the Forest and hung Christmas lights, had her husband invite carolers, and made a huge event to entice the witch into investigating. While the witch was away from her home, Fox slipped inside and contaminated the cauldron.
While the witch was out, she stole away the Changeling that the fairy had replaced Scarlet’s child with, then returned her to corrupted heart of the woods. There she made a potion in celebration of procuring herself an apprentice. Over the next weeks and months, the Forest began to heal. The three guardians of the Forest returned to their full power. Scarlet’s village was blessed with fair weather, plentiful crops, and protection from wild beasts for the rest of her days. Her child grew up knowing only peace and love and joy. And for the rest of her days, on occasion, Scarlet was called upon to act on Fox’s behalf, to pull pranks and tricks on various denizens of the Wood. But it was all fairly harmless at the end of the day, and sometimes she even caught herself having fun with it.

Halloween isn’t over yet where I live and I felt like talking about this particular illustration that Chiho Saitou made for Animerica. In contrast with the other Halloween illustration that she did in which the characters used more occidental costumes, in this one, everyone is dressed as popular yokai who are traditional monsters and spirits from Japanese folk culture. Maybe these yokai could tell us something about the characters, let’s see:
Anthy is dressed as a Kitsune: a fox spirit known for its transformation abilities. They often deceive humans, specially if they have a grudge against them. For some reason there are many stories of human men marrying a kitsune who transformed into a beautiful woman.
Touga is a Tengu: this yokai originally was a birdlike spirit. It is said to be very powerful. Tengu have the ability to command other yokai, their practices are considered to be against the teachings of Buddhism, many monks lose their way by letting themselves be taught in the dark arts of a Tengu. Nowadays Tengu are represented as anime pretty boys.
Saionji is an Oni, a creature akin to an ogre who’s known by its violent and antisocial tendencies. They devour humans and cause destruction wherever they go. Paradoxically they’re also seen as guardians.
Miki is a Kappa: A very popular water creature who lives in ponds and rivers. Kappa drown people and eat their internal organs, they are specially fond of the Shirikodama, an organ that’s supposedly in the anus. Kappa also like cucumbers, soba and practicing sumo.
I’m not really sure about Juri, but she seems to be dressed as a Hitotsume-kozo, a benign spirit of a child with one eye an one leg who dresses as Buddhist monk
Chu-chu and Utena are Yuurei which is most commonly known here as a ghost. So they died and Anthy is summoning them? But why? There are too many questions here,

OC Headcanon: Moriko Chi Amemori
Gotten this idea from the thought of “what the hell? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ “ so I will try to remember what I had made her to the best of my ability.
Little description about her
She is raised by her mute yet kind uncle in a rural part of Japan after her parents had disappeared for unknown reasons.
She lived a bit far from the village in a small home just an inch further into a forest.
Her power is talking to animals, able to understand them and heal those who are injured and sick (She is Mori (Forest) type, one of 13 Kitsune types). Her family had dated back to the beginning of Japan when they are ninjas who had worship a mythical foxes known as Kitsunes whom in return, made them hybrid of human and the nine-tailed deities, give them sheath, bravery, skills, beauty and most of all; immortality. She knew that she carries Amemori blood in her veins.
She had a long lost brother (My other OC who goes by Sparrow Amemori)
In her village a bit far from where she lived, she was treated like an outcast for “being a demon.”
The reason why she had gone to war is to treat the injured and hoped to be viewed differently as a positive result. But she was a bleeding heart to her enemies as well as the same goes to the ones she loved.
The red ribbon was a gift from her uncle before he died of an unknown illness, it’s the only thing she could remember him by so she kept it close as possible.
Ultimis
She was treated so very poorly and coldly, it had gotten to the point that she is too weak and scared to defend herself so she just had to hide behind her uncle whenever they visit the village for a food run.
She was very kind and shy but willing to help others, she had taken that from her uncle and the harsh comments from the villagers as a result.
Her only friends are forest animals before the Second World War until she had met Jin Bai Chen ( @mortal-kombattore-115′s oc) and Tank Dempsey in in Tengchung, an ancient city of China during the time when Japan had taken most of China. (Japanese had thought she could be able to infiltrate their camp in hopes of getting information rather then to send a skilled spy to do it.) They surprisingly formed a friendship despite that when Jin let her go back to her camp under the dead of night.while everyone’s asleep.
She had first met Takeo Masaki (Her eventual love interest) in one battle where she was cornered by the enemy soldiers until he had came out of the blue with the intention to protect one of the medics but ended up getting injured after he done so. Leaving her to treat him on her own in an unknown part of battlefield safe from the enemy (you know, taken the role of an guardian angel) to ensure he will survive to see another day.
When he woke up after an hour, Moriko is the one to greet him back to reality and told him that she had (somehow) radioed a rescue from their Axis allies within the next 50 minutes as much to him being surprised. They talked a bit back and forth until soldiers from Group 935 had arrived and took them back to Germany (From what I can think of, this my hc on how Takeo was captured) and they wield up being test subjects.
Not much said what had happened to her after that but her mental condition had grown to it’s worse state: she is now more scared of people, she had been rescued eventually by Jin who came to find Dempsey after he too was captured by Group 935.
Jin had to clam her down enough to make her remember her who introduces her name to her at first but Moriko didn’t remember what had happened to her when Jin asked who had done to her.
Moriko can often served as an alarm because she had often ran back to them in a panic but she still give others medical attention and mostly to Takeo (even through his memory of what had happened to him had been wiped thanks to Dr. Edward Richtofen) for being somewhat reckless in battle without thinking of the consequences.
Jin had often guide her and teaching her how to fight back as their friendship had grown to a good state after she had been rescued.
Primis
Her life in Dimension 63 hasn’t changed but a little bit of it did, this time, some people in her village had treated her like one of the family after seeing her being poorly by the other villagers.
Unlike her Ultimis self, she is less shy, brave and a lot more caring to others around her, treating them equally. She had took care of herself whenever she willingly goes to the village with/without her uncle.
The mute uncle had actually and barely told her that she had a brother but didn’t have time say who he was when he had died after giving her the red ribbon.
She is willing to carry on her uncle’s legacy with heart to be kind to others around her, no matter how different they are yet she is hoping they would accept her for who and what she was.
After she had been attacked by an old woman who is quite like other villagers who dislike her during the Emperor’s soldiers and one of the officers had came to the village for more soldiers to fight in World War I (During that time, it is called the Great War), the captain had offered his hand to her but she had got up and ran from him despite the fact it was in fount of everyone and ran into the forest until she stopped at the river then proceed to cry her tears out. She lamented until she had looked at her reflection but only to see the same captain’s in the water’s surface as well winch surprised to see him follow her to the river, he once again offered his hand to her and this time, she accepted it without a thought and then is back on her feet by the captain.
When the captain introduced himself as Takeo Masaki (Primis version) to her, she was embarrassed at first but when he asked why she was treated the way the old woman had after she had explained, she had to show him proof that she is, indeed, different from everyone else in the village by talking to a few birds much to to his surprise. He had found her quite unique from others, so, from then to ensure she wouldn’t be helpless again so he took her in for training from then on after she is deemed a medic for the Japanese Imperial Army.
She had changed during her training with the warrior, she had became confident, more brave and willing to not to help but to protect others as well. They had spend more time together in the village and after the festival, he had been called away on a mission in France but she had become worried, too worried that he won’t make it so, she somehow got to Northern France when the first known zombie outbreak in history had happened.
During the chaos, she had crafted a makeshift spear from a long broken pipe and a knife tied to one end of it and used it to her advantage as she remembered her training. She had managed to saved one of Chinese factory worker of the Chinese Labor Corps (An actual group in history, look that up and see that I am not kidding.), named Jin Bai Chen (Primis version) after she was cornered by the the walking dead.
She is afraid of wolves.
When they had ran into the Primis crew, she was surprised that the sleeves that are attached to his uniform was torn off so she is more concerned about him but she focus on the current situation they are in.
in this timeline, Moriko had never once held a gun until Origins, she was a horrible shooter til Takeo taught her how to use it properly
I had took a while to written down the hc about her so, I can now tag someone else here, I will tag:

The Kitsune
The Kitsune, or "the watchfoxes" as they are fondly called, are a group of 13 powerful beings created by all the Sentinels. They are one of the few creation created by all the Sentinels at once and are said to be powerful as a result. They are seen as primarily guardians but have a reputation as wishmakers.
Previous: Appointment of the Kitsune
Next: The Rescue of the Great Old Ones
The Kitsune, or "the watchfoxes" as they are fondly called, are a group of 13 powerful beings created by all the Sentinels. They were created to watch Saturnia for evil and alert the Sentinels when they found it. In later times, they'd serve as an alert system for them if a truly destructive evil came to Saturnia. They also serve to be another protection to Saturnians, who they see as family.
Another curious aspect of them is their status as wish granters. It is said each Kitsune rests in a hidden place, asleep yet awake. If someone finds their hiding place and solves the riddle given, the Kitsune will face them and ask their intentions. A creature will good intentions will get their wish granted and may even earn a further boon if they are especially noble. A creature with evil intentions is punished but the exact punishment is unknown. Some suggest it varies, depending on the creature.
The Kitsune all look like foxes with nine tails followed by glowing orbs of "foxfire". Each looks a little different, based on their environment and element. While each is aligned under their respective Sentinel, each has a title. As they are largely mythical, it is unknown what their biology may be like. Due to the nature of their creation, many believe they do not need to eat or anything to sustain themselves.
To help protect Saturnians, they have a variety of abilities:
They can see into someone's heart and find their intentions, such as if their intentions are good or evil. Due to this, they can also sense evil which they have a very keen sense for. It is said if a truly evil creature steps into Saturnia, the Kitsune will instantly know.
They can grant wishes, but only if the asker's heart is pure. If it is not, it is said the asker will be instantly cursed but what this entails varies from tale to tale. Some say they instantly die, some say they are cursed with great misfortune, some say they are blinded and others say different.
They can shapeshift, appearing as anything they'd like to help fellow Saturnians. However, it is said they usually do not do this, as they find it uncomfortable.
They are followed by glowing orbs of light called "foxfire". No one is quite sure the purpose of them but theories hold that they are a source of power or a manifestation of their magic.
All thirteen Kitsune are named and are believed to be associated with a specific Sentinel. A list is below:
Reign is the Heaven Kitsune, aligned under Light. They are depicted as white with rainbow markings, white eyes, and rock protrusions like those at the Rainbow Rocks. It's said they rest somewhere near the Rainbow Rocks.
Hallow is the Void Kitsune, aligned under Darkness. They are depicted as purple-black with black and grey markings, black eyes and rock protrusions like those at the Inkine Rocks. It's said they rest somewhere near the Inkine Rocks.
Sheer is the Wind Kitsune, aligned under Air. They are depicted as silver with grey markings, grey eyes and a cloudy mane. It's said they rest somewhere in the Hymnalayas.
Gleam is the Terra Kitsune, aligned under Earth. They are depicted as light green with leaf green markings, bronze eyes and bamboo growing from their fur. It's said they rest in the Bamboo Forest.
Combust is the Flame Kitsune, aligned under Fire. They are depicted as red with yellow, orange and black markings, orange eyes and a flaming mane. They are said to rest in Spice Peak.
Pelagy is the Ocean Kitsune, aligned under Water. They are depicted as teal with cyan markings, blue-grey eyes, a watery mane, and a shell on their face. It is said they rest under the Keltrick Sea.
Creek is the River Kitsune, aligned under Ice. They are depicted as teal with blue and white markings, cyan eyes and reeds in their fur. It is said they rest under the Hississippi River.
Vert is the Forest Kitsune, aligned under Nature. They are depicted as russet with brown markings, green eyes and trees growing from their back. It is said they rest in the Lairwoods.
Arc is the Mountain Kitsune, aligned under Metal. They are depicted as brown with lighter brown markings, orange eyes and rocks in their fur. It is said they rest in a hidden peak in the Hymnalayas, Secret Peak.
Vanic is the Thunder Kitsune, aligned under Lightning. They are depicted as yellow with blue markings, blue eyes and blue crystal protrusions. It is said they rest under the Cajump Swamp.
Twist is the Spirit Kitsune, aligned under Mind. They are depicted as purple with lavender markings, magenta eyes and gemstones in their fur. It is said they rest in the Heart of Saturnia with their sibling, Turn.
Turn is the Time Kitsune, aligned under Mist. They are depicted as green with light green markings, gold eyes and metal quills in their fur. It is said they rest in the Heart of Saturnia with their sibling, Twist.
Overture is the Music Kitsune, aligned under Sound. They are primarily mulberry with red markings, a flower marking on their back, yellow eyes and flowers in their fur. It is said they rest under the city of Purris in the Purris Highlands.
