I might have asked @heniareth the same question but I'm really curious with your crew - what mythological creature would your characters be? Why?
This is a very interesting question and it was a difficult one, so thank you!! Gave me a lot of food for thoughts, and I have to say that Raina was the most difficult one to find. I may change my mind in a week time, but for now...
Aisling Lavellan: Unicorn.
It had to be some sort of horse, right? Well, the Unicorn is solitary and shy, extremely difficult to capture and even more to tame… But it has many medicinal properties: if you drink from its horn will be protected from poison and various other ailments. When alive, the unicorn can use its magical horn to purify poisoned water for other animals to drink. It's also fierce enough to fend off every hunters and fight and win against elephants, according to Medieval bestiaries, and can be tamed only by young girls. At the same time, alongside this older and more wild interpretation, today it has come to mean something peculiar, something fluffy and peaceful and pretty. And for Aisling this is the main dichotomy: You won't give a dime to her at a first glance, she'll seem naive and innocent and too air-headed… It's quite the contrary, actually, watch her as she'll take down single-handedly enemies thrice her size and comment the fact as Elle Woods. "What, like it's hard?"
Alyra Mahariel: Kitsune.
Kitsune are fox spirits in Japanese folklore, they're very powerful and a protective creature, whose main power is metamorphosis. The more they grow, the more they become powerful, gaining many tails to show their power. You can have good kitsune, serving the goddess Inari and guarding her shrines and bringing messages between the earth and the goddess, and bringing prosperity to the worshippers (Inari is the deity of rice cultivation), or they can be terrible tricksters called Nogitsune. They turn into humans, with some fox-like features, and possess women to prey on them and trick men they dislike. Alyra is like that. A fox, unpredictable, will totally trick you at need, you should not, by any means, belittle her, will pass as most of anything and convince you that she's a noblewoman, sure. Keep in her good graces and she'll bring prosperity to the land, otherwise you gained an enemy that will make you spit blood, metaphorically and not.
Raina Hawke: Hippogriff.
A creature considered an epytome of something impossible, it's the offspring of a mare and a male griffin: It has the front half of an eagle and the hind one of a horse, it's impossibly fast and can fly around the earth and even reach the moon. It was invented in the poem Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto, and he says that the hippogriff can only be ridden by magicians… But it's a vital steed for the wandering knight Ruggiero to free Angelica, and Bradamante lends it to Astolfo to fly over the moon and get back Orlando's wit (… Orlando = Roland, same hero). Beside me fangirling over that poem which is not as popular as it should: the Hippogriff is considered something impossible, in a treaty over heraldry it's defined as "ugly, inartistic, and unnecessary"… Except for the fact that in the poem, it is very necessary for the plot, as dangerous as it is. So yeah, something that shouldn't exist, but it does, you may think it's ugly or unconvenient or pointless… But take it away, and the princess stays in the villain's grasp, and you can say farewell to your hero's mind.
#oc ask game#characters association#aisling lavellan#raina hawke#alyra mahariel#voooola mia mini Raina 🎶#of course Aisling is an Unicorn she looks too good with her Pride Unicorn onesie to be anything else#I also found something else for her but you said “creature” and not “figure” so...

Mead Moons Event: Prompts 16-18
Are fraternity rivals Stiles and Derek one-upping each other with every party they throw, vying for the season's Most Legendary Rager and falling for each other in the process? Or are they reluctant guests at a mandatory Alpha/Omega jamboree where they bond over drinks and music and how shitty they think the custom is?
Does Trickster Fox Stiles persuade the typically reserved Derek to attend a wild shifter event and ends up getting more than he bargained for when the wolf finally cuts loose? Or does Bacchus possess Coach Finstock and the only way to get him to leave is for the all too broody and angst-ridden guys to thoroughly enjoy themselves for once?
Do Stiles and Derek finally get together during an All Pack weekend away with no monsters or Hunters or asshole magic trees messing things up and that's the whole vibe, everyone lives and has a great time? Or do Erica and Lydia have something more intentional in mind when planning a summer celebration sure to get the Alpha to make a move on their resident Spark?
Create something and get in on the fun!
Does Stiles find a ritual that lets him go back in time to save his pack, including the Alpha he never had the chance to confess his feelings for? Or does he make a deal with Demon Derek to rescue his father, but it turns out the disturbingly attractive entity doesn't actually want to take his soul, just his virginity?
Does Derek need an emissary to keep his territory and accepts the first — and only — one interested in binding them to the land, a talkative new grad named Stiles? Or is he preoccupied with making sure he courts the curious human properly according to werewolf custom?
Do Stiles and Derek inadvertantly create a child when they perform a ritual to restore the Nemeton to a healthy, benevolent state? Or do they share their family's traditions with each other while celebrating various holidays together for the first time?
You don't have to stand on ceremony, but it'd be interesting if you did!
Does Stiles find out that his favorite werewolf is a sucker for rose and pistachio flavored desserts that remind him of his great-grandmother? Or is he collecting petals and thorns from 100 different rose bushes in order to cast a spell to get Derek to notice him (but it turns out he already did?)
Is Derek a grouchy florist who nonetheless enjoys bringing smiles to other people's faces, especially a certain artist and student of botany? Or is he planning a surprise vacation to Portland for his husband, including a stroll through the International Rose Test Garden, which boasts 650 varieties of the flower?
Is it a different spin on a Beauty and the Beast AU with Creature Stiles and Bookworm Derek? Or does emissary Stiles apologize to his Alpha for a mishap with a dozen magical roses, each granting a different wish or favor?
Let those ideas bloom!
Accepting new and unpublished fic, art, and playlists June 3rd - July 3rd. See the pinned post here for more info.

So the main reason I even came here/started this account is because of a series on YouTube I’m doing. Basically there’s this person on YouTube who gives a toxic person attention, but does something stupid which is basically strip all characters she refuses from said toxic persons videos in hers. It’s very rare you see a unique personality among the animals. If you seen the videos you know who I’m talking about but for the sake of not giving the troll or the person attention here I will not state who they are.
That being said based on the videos I have constructed these characters, and there’s one more dog character for the dog saga, Who is going to be blizzard‘s girlfriend. if you were wondering, The reference images are what the characters look like in the videos of the person who stripped some of their personality. & scamps is technically in accurate because he also has stripes on his legs. He is a ticked tabby.
I’ll give a Basic rundown on the personalities
Scamps: basically has become a hunter, from the video he appeared in he now has a love of hunting and fighting, resulting in him getting into scuffles with a bunch of different animals including cats resulting in all the scars
Hunter: The video he appeared in involved a Giant one month old fox pup being ripped apart by two snakes which one seemed to be based off of cobra, unfortunately due to this he has developed an unhealthy habit of hunting foxes for sport, riding that high he got from the darkest means necessary. This is why he has all the scars he has
Spot: (directly from the community post) he’s pretty much a trickster by heart & actually doesn’t care much for most individuals, if he trusts you though, he’ll literally jump in front of a car for you. Due to the video he appeared in, he got a slight problematic addiction to eating foxes, though this can easily be trained out of him. He happens to have dyslexia so he has a very hard time reading.
Blizzard: basically soft-spoken and pretty nice, was very uncomfortable with the video she was in but pretended to enjoy the suffering she and the snakes were inflicting on the one month old fox despite him being around the size of trees. Later on her girlfriend basically told her/asked her if she was even comfortable with this stuff and blizzard was relieved that there was someone else who was uncomfortable and just pretending to enjoy that suffering. The two went to the barely hanging in there fox pop and blizzard‘s girlfriend healed him hollyfawn style™️ The two basically got him out of there and blizzard used her ability of snow manipulation to hide them from the giant snakes who were curious as to where their food was. Blizzard also happens to have hemophobia.
These are the only ones I have drawn out right now, but I have plans for more. Note if you’re coming here from YouTube, blizzard is currently not up for adoption while the other three have been adopted by the same person so I really need some variety with who is adopting these animals.
Other than that I’ll try to keep y’all posted. ADHD is a bitch
(never mind budsforbuddies hate community is already on Tumblr. This place has been tainted by the most toxic sub community in the Gacha community.

Changeling: The League (2/3)
Being the next installment of my deeply nerdy spur-of-the-moment decision to do up a bunch of My Hero Academia villains as Changeling: The Lost characters. For some introductory info and the League of Villains, check this post. Or hit the jump for the Meta Liberation Army!
THE METAHUMAN LIBERATION ARMY
Considerably reduced from what they are in canon (I don’t think there are 116,000 changelings in Japan, much less that many changeling dissidents!), the leaders of the MLA are instead a band of secret loyalists for the Keeper called Destro, who have spent a great many years preparing for a chance to bring him to the real world in full glory, unhindered by time limits or reduced powers. The requirements are many and arcane, with a huge number of ways things could fall to disarray. Thus they find to their great alarm that their prophecies are suddenly skewing when the truth of Shigaraki’s durance/Keeper comes out--there are two “heirs,” it seems, and fate is swirling, and it will only settle over one of them in the end.
The group has its fingers in some of the more obscure fluff-book magic--fate-crafting, oracular dreams and the like--and collectively share a massively decked-out Hollow.
Re-Destro
Quote: “Everyone has a purpose to serve.”
Type: Gargantuan Ogre/Treasured Fairest dual kith. The incarnation of Destro’s will. Born in Faerie, he spent his early years being instructed (and molded) always--stand up straight, speak more clearly, be stronger, be better, you are the one who will herald me. Re-Destro was delivered out of the Hedge at seven years old clutching a squall knife as long as his arm, his mind filled with the knowledge that he was the one who would see Destro ushered into the real world. He was welcomed, open-armed, by those changelings who had been sent before. He has spent over thirty years in the real world since then, scrupulously maintaining a startlingly high Clarity, but Destro whispers in his dreams more nights than not, and Rikiya (as he was named, though he has a true name his mother whispered against his head as an infant, now long forgotten) has always had the nagging feeling that the mundane Earth is not his true home.
A tall, stiff-shouldered man in his Mask, Rikiya looks much as he does in canon, though without the stress spots on his forehead and with a nose that’s merely prominent, rather than a cartoonishly huge beak. He’s quite tall and can go from mildly unassuming to toweringly imposing on a dime. In mien, his hair goes more coppery and his skin becomes unblemished marble, the palest shade of jade in color, tinging ever so slightly darker around his joints. His nose returns to its canonically proper glory, and the places where his hairline recedes in his mask are revealed to be making room for a pair of broad, curving horns, emerald green at the tips. He’s unusually clean-hewn for an Ogre, not handsome, per se, but undeniably striking. When he uses his kith blessing, he grows to profound sizes (shredding even the most cleverly crafted Hedgespun), easily as tall as a two storey building. Naturally, he tries not to do that kind of thing around mortal witnesses.
Rikiya’s Wyrd is getting quite high (it was high even as a child, as might reasonably be predicted), so particularly sensitive or addled humans will sometimes see or experience fragments of his true form--his unyielding skin, a brief glimpse of the shadow of his horns, the echoing weight of his footsteps on stone floors. His potent Wyrd and his affinity with the home of the Gentry means that his magic sometimes leaks into objects he keeps on his person for too long--it’s an issue he’s aware of, and practically speaking, it mostly means that he never wears anything more than a day in a row. He has a staggering variety of suits and ties.
Court/Mantle: Courtless. With high-ranking friends in a sprawling freehold overseen by Directional Courts, Rikiya makes rounds in all of them. He’s a deft hand with Hedgespun and his works are in high demand at even the most discerning changeling markets. His home is in the center--close to the epicenter, in fact.
Contracts: Barbarically focused, though he uses both of his contracts sparingly. His experience has gone more into his, shall we say, inherent magic.
Vainglory I-V. Even when playing the role of a popular but unranked freehold member, or a canny designer of mundane accessories, Re-Destro has never forgotten who and what he is, and when he’s using these Contracts, that comes out with psyche-bruising force. His higher-tier invocations tend to cause his colors to mottle somewhat, infusing to darker shades of green around his face--the hollows of his eyes particularly--and extremities.
Stone I-V. Unbelievably strong whenever he needs to be. He tries to avoid combat or let his underlings handle it when he can--he has very few problems maintaining his Clarity, but causing harm to others is a surefire way to disturb it--but when he does break these out, he’s as difficult to put down as a berserker. Tends to take relaxing vacations after any occasion where he’s had to really work this.
Curious
Quote: ”You’ve got the look of someone with a story to tell. I want to hear all about it.”
Type: Cleareyes Beast. Once upon a time, she was a journalist with a nose for a story--well, she’s a journalist still, with a nose like you wouldn’t believe. Talented and quick-witted, both traits won her attention from Destro’s “recruiters,” but it was her tenaciousness that finally saw her brought in from the snow and the hunts, a semblance of a human form returned to her, and the bright ambrosia of purpose poured down her throat. Delivered to Re-Destro when he was in his 20s, Chitose is a hunter and a dream-spinner, a trickster with a deft and ruthless touch for talecrafting. She remembers the headiness of blood on her tongue, and she can always smell a bleeding heart.
A fox changeling, though given her bent of viciousness and her unusual coloring, you could be forgiven for thinking her a kumiho or a particularly wicked kitsune. In mien, she has long, thick white hair and a pair of white tails (three in the dreamscape), tipped in black like stained ink brushes, that match her long, tufted ears. Her whole body’s covered in a fine layer of silken fur; she’s got a lupine lengthiness to her features and sharp teeth in her smile. In her mask, her hair’s rich and dark and she seems to have a perpetual healthy glow to her skin, tipping into a noticeably high, intemperate flush when her passions are aroused. A beauty in either form, she has thin, seemingly delicate wrists and ankles, but moves with a quick, decisive grace. Her eyes are blue with just a hint of the green they used to be, the color standing out sharply from the ring of her black eyelashes.
Court/Mantle: The South, seat of ecstasy. Chitose remembers the purity of her emotions in Faerie, remembers heights of euphoria and shocks of terror that stole her breath away, but out in the real world, she feels muted and muffled, never quite fulfilled, as if she’s always groping for an outstretched hand that’s just out of reach. The Court of Song gets her closest to that reckless, all-pervading sensation, and so she throws herself headlong into its giddy pursuit of obsession. Her mantle wraps her in a sensual warmth and, when she’s particularly worked up, wisps of thin white smoke scented like heady incense or burning sugar. Every so often, when her eyes catch the light in a dark room, they reflect red instead of green.
Contracts:
Den I-III. She considers herself to have every right to be wherever she finds herself and is not about to let a home security system stop her when she’s chasing any sort of rabbit.
Dream I-IV. Whether she’s digging for a story or pushing a narrative, dreams are fruitful ground with a multiplicity of uses, none of which she’s squeamish about implementing. Curious is a terror, asleep or awake.
Omen I-III. While she’s not much interested in fortune-telling as a method for long-term strategic planning (you want Skeptic for that), she does absolutely have a use for powers that give her visions of someone’s worst memory or upcoming major life events.
Skeptic
Quote: “Do you have any idea what kind of shitstorm we have coming down on us? What? You can’t see the future? I guess that means you should shut the hell up and stop distracting those of us who have something useful to contribute then, doesn’t it?!”
Type: Oracle Wizened. Destro knew that his followers would need someone who could properly interpret signs and portents, so set his recruiters to finding someone with an eye for secret signs, a knack for the languages of symbolism and metaphor. Most of them brought back psychics or sensitive children, but one particularly old recruiter, for whom “computers” were a new and strange novelty, brought back Tomoyasu. An electronics whiz-kid from a young age, Tomoyasu was in high school at the time, but already doing college prep. He was driven and competitive but, crucially, willing to explain things to people who didn’t understand them. In Faerie, his eyes were opened (forcibly, sometimes with clamps) to a great many more languages and codes, and his competitive personality honed to a vicious edge because you did not want to be a failure, not at any cost.
Now that he’s been sent back to the real world, Skeptic has a presence in many realms. He’s still quite good with computers, of course, but there’s the much more important work of Destro that needs to be done, and that involves both tasks for now and plans laid for later. As such, he maintains dream pledges with a number of psychics (mostly fresh ones, though there are a few shattered survivors from amongst his rivals for his current position). Unlike Curious, he isn’t interested in digging in their dreams or using them as staging grounds for larger projects; he only needs them to help him fill in his understanding of the future. He and Re-Destro do a great measure of the work in maintaining the group Hollow.
Rail-thin and gangly, Skeptic stalks about his environment with a constant sense of bloody-minded productivity. He’s rarely without a laptop or tablet tucked in one arm and wears exclusively black, which just adds to the impression of being The World’s Gothiest Scarecrow. His eyes are always hidden, behind his long bangs, razor-thin sunglasses, or--on more formal Court occasions--a broad silk blindfold, but glimpses of them are always alarmingly bloodshot. In mien, his hands and arms are dotted with tattoos and scarification, faerie glyphs and sigils, and his eyes are filmed with blood. He may not actually have eyelids--certainly no one has ever seen him blink. Usually has a sword or the emblem of one on his person somewhere--a custom of his Court, because the heavens know he’s no swordfighter.
Court/Mantle: The West, seat of honor. Very much a means to an end. Skeptic has little interest in martialtry, but the needs of Destro demand that someone do it, and his obsessive perfectionism and rigidly high standards for himself make him the best fit--and anyway, the Court of War does need strategists. He’s learned how to handle weapons in a perfunctory sort of way, but he’s a much better shot with a rifle than one would expect from the state of his eyes, especially if he’s got some time to spend fidgeting with one for a little bit before he has to fire it. His mantle is relatively low, compared to most of his motley-mates, and manifests as a penetrating chill to the air and a slightly sharper tang of blood-smell than just his red-rimmed eyes can explain.
Contracts:
Animation I-V. You don’t have to waste time learning how to operate anything if the object itself will tell you how to use it, and you don’t have to stand around waving a sword at people when you can have the sword wield itself. “Inanimate” nothing; as a rule, he likes objects better than people.
Artifice I. Object touchy because it’s busted? Nothing a bit of magic can’t fix (at least for long enough to get the job done.
Hours I-IV. The result of Skeptic’s understanding of objects crashing together with his oracular abilities. The time magic he can work on inanimate objects is very useful (and yes, the way Shigaraki warps the first clause of this drives him absolutely mad), but the real miracle is what the ability to control time dilation in the Hedge does for his and his motley’s productivity.
Trumpet
Quote: “I’m sure we’ll succeed. After all, we’re the ones he chose.”
Type: Fairest Muse. The only member of the MLA motley proper that has any ambivalent feelings about The Destro Revival Festival. He’s about Re-Destro’s age, but was kidnapped at a much less tender age than the rest, well into his adulthood. He was an up-and-coming civil servant at the time, then spent longer than he can remember in Faerie, rallying crowds and practicing speeches until his throat bled and cracked into silence, learning to channel some portion of Destro’s white-hot conviction and magnetic presence, for all that being vessel to those traits felt like it burned the soul out of him. Hanabata was charismatic and persuasive while he went in and his time in Faerie amplified those traits beyond belief, but he isn’t so broken as to believe that Destro did him some kind of favor.
He is, however, quite broken enough to believe that Destro is undefeatable and that he has no real choices in the matter. He was returned barely a week after he was taken in real-Earth time, dropped on Re-Destro’s lap when the latter was just getting started in establishing himself. He’s spent the twenty years since then doing whatever needs to be done in order to smooth Re-Destro’s path (he’s unusually prominent in human politics for a changeling; indeed, he’s amassed some fairly significant temporal authority) and watching the rest of his ordained motley grow up. They’re really the only people keeping him going; Hanabata thinks they’re far more damaged than he, and in many ways he’s right--he has a much clearer grasp on what they’ve all lost, even if some of them never had it to begin with--but he’s also very badly hurt in his own way, lacking even the devoted fervor of the cause to fill up the empty spaces left in what used to be his optimism.
His mask looks like the Trumpet of the canon, minus the ever-present sense of pomade and the facial hair that can’t decide if it wants to be a mustache or not; he’s just clean-shaven. He has a wry, expressive mouth and a nearly hypnotic voice, a baritone by turns soothing or rolling. There’s an indefinable sense of presence to him; just looking at him makes brave people want to strike up a conversation and timid people lurk about in vague hopes of leeching up some of his confident vibes. His mien just amplifies it; he’s impossibly magnetic, with strong features and eyes the kind of green you could get lost in. His voice is even more of a marvel here, resonant and penetrating in ways humans couldn’t typically manage without augmentation. When out in public, he wears a camera-ready smile as faithfully as a wedding band; in private, he’s markedly more subdued.
Court/Mantle: The East, seat of envy. Trumpet’s talents make him marvelously well-suited for this Court, but it isn’t just a matter of practicality, as the Court of the West is for Skeptic. No, Trumpet is intimately familiar with the thumbscrew feeling of envy--no free changeling can even begin to grasp how bitterly he covets their ignorance. His mantle can be difficult to pick apart from the gripping presence of his seeming, but when he’s working magic, it’s frequently accompanied by the bizarre sense to onlookers that he’s taller than he really is. Even if someone is standing right next to him and knows perfectly well that they’re taller than him, sometimes they’ll blink and their eyes will lie, vision inverting such that Trumpet seems to be looking down at them. Every so often, when he’s on a roll, his eyes will gleam the perfect yellow-white of the sun reflecting on newly-minted coins.
Contracts:
Vainglory I-III. Not as advanced in his understanding of this Contract as Re-Destro, but the effect is considerably more potent when he’s using it.
Hearth I-V. As engrossing as it is to listen to him talk, Trumpet’s real talent is in inspiring others, and the Contracts of fair and foul fortune just amplify that.
Fleeting Spring I and Fleeting Autumn I. First levels of the seasonal contracts don’t require Seasonal Court goodwill, but he’d probably get it from any Spring Court in the country anyway. Envy is close cousins with Desire, after all. Whichever the case, manipulating people is easier when you know both what they want and what they fear.
Geten
Quote: “Ice is never far away. Prepare yourself.”
Type: Snowskin Elemental. Geten remembers little of their time before Faerie--in fact, they have very little recollection of the passage of any of the time that must have brought them to their current age. Their memory is like one huge block of ice, solid from wall to wall with cold and scarcity. If some of that scarcity, back at the very beginning, is colored in a different palette than Destro’s winter, well, it’s still of a piece with the rest, so what does it matter? All of their life was the winter--until Re-Destro appeared and chose them. Out in the real world, Geten knows, intellectually, about the whole “herald of Destro” thing and devotes themself to the cause with admirable fervor, but in truth, that fervor is far more dedicated to Re-Destro than it is their True Fae Keeper, of whom Geten recalls next to nothing. Generally serious and driven, Geten enjoys feeling that their actions have meaning beyond just keeping them alive, so they’re never happier than when they’re fighting for Re-Destro in concrete, measurable ways. Generally poorly socialized in ways that would make their life much more difficult if they didn’t have Rikiya looking out for them.
In mask, Geten is a slight youth with shoulder-length, white-blonde hair and unusual pale gray eyes. They have a delicate-looking face that’s incongruous with their rather feral personality. In mein, their hair is fully white, as are the glowing pupils of their eyes. Their already fair skin goes bloodlessly pale, and even on the hottest day, their features are kissed with a rime of frost. They wear long sleeved, full-length clothes at all times of the year, though curiously, they dress more heavily in summer than in winter.
Court/Mantle: The North, seat of suffering. Something of an unusual case in their freehold, where the power of the Directional Courts holds sway, Geten emerged from the Hedge with a strong Winter mantle. No matter that they’re sworn to the Armor Court, that raw affinity to the Court of Sorrow remains. This odd duality, seen by some as untrustworthy, has largely kept them from advancing very far despite their apparent dedication to the Stupa’s focused, ascetic lifestyle. They’re frequently mistaken for being courtless, particularly in a freehold that’s less familiar with the look of the Silent Arrow than those who move in Seasonal Court circles would be. The lack of any obvious sign of a mantle is itself the tell--Winter always makes its changelings look more stark, as if somehow etched more clearly into the fabric of the world, unobscured by other connections. Likewise, their magic is all ice-themed anyway, so many don’t realize that the brief gusts of snow around them are a sign of their mantle--but every so often, there will be a brush of pale ash on those winds, a sign that, for all that Winter lives in their bones, Geten has still embraced the North.
Contracts: These speak for themselves. Geten’s power set, more than anyone in these posts, hews closely to canon!Geten’s quirk meta-ability.
Elements (Ice) I-IV. Exacts control over ice. They’re protected from it, they’re protected by it, they control it, and it answers their call (though their range is not anywhere close to canon!Geten’s).
Communion (Ice) I-III. Very unlike canon!Geten, the changeling version is ice-born enough that they speak with it like kin. Ice isn’t much of a gossiper, as elements go, but it reflects things, sometimes, and knows the shape of everything it touches. They can extend this awareness as far out as a mile in most weather, though the range is much shorter in e.g. a blizzard, when trying to take in that much information would be overwhelming.
Eternal Winter I-III. Don’t have ice? Make your own! Again, not as wide-ranging as canon!Geten’s, but serves much the same purpose. Geten can also, like Spinner, perform emergency thermostat duties, though Spinner’s control over heat allows him to turn it up or expel it, while Geten’s is only ever going to make things colder.
BONUS TIDBITS:
Changeling!Re-Destro needs to be able to get around in the human world without being prone to fits of hallucination and delirium, and his magic isn't dependent on his stress levels, so unlike his canon self, he gets to have actual vacation time, do soothing yoga, etc.
Geten and Curious had some durance overlap, but neither of them remember it clearly. Curious’s memories of that time are too patchy, while Geten’s are too hard to pare down into individual moments. Geten does feel a sense of familiarity towards Curious, but they don’t talk about it much after the one time they described it as being, “Like she was...inside me, for a while,” and everyone looked really weirded out.
Changeling!Geten is nonbinary because It’s My AU And I’ll Do What I Want. They are made of ice and do not really understand what the deal is with gender.
Magne doesn’t die in this AU because It’s My AU And I’ll Do What I Want. She and Curious have to team up to brainstorm a strategy for an epic oneiromachy duel with Destro that will decisively eject him from Rikiya’s dreams without reducing Rikiya to a drooling husk.
Trumpet is the true wild card in this AU. The other Destro-ites have never really even considered the prospect of breaking free from Destro; Trumpet has, but rather than that making him the person who’s the easiest to sway, it makes him the person most resolutely convinced that betraying Destro will lead only to suffering. The lengths that conviction will drive him to make him a severe danger to his motley the moment they begin considering abandoning their mission.

Unhuman Cinema
Recalling a First Peoples’ wisdom tale, this short film of an owl and fox caught on a surveillance camera is a fine example of recent Unhuman Filmmaking. It dates from Jan 9, 2019 and is known by several titles: When the Fox Met the Owl; Town of Cobourg Owl & Fox Video; and A Fox & an Owl Meet on a Snowy Night etc. Titles are little matter though – most works of art have no proper title; think of the Sphinx, the ‘Mona Lisa’ or Lascaux. Comparisons in film, to James Benning and the late Kiarostami, for example, sound academic here and rest only on a static camera – common for some duration in all films, constant in the basic works of Edison, Hepworth and Méliès. But perhaps any question of art is beside the point. All moves inside this unmoving picture. If several curious questions arise, most of them are inartistic.
Most edits run about 3.25 mins. (that is, from 1:54:55 to 1:58:16 on the top left timecode). It is night or just before dawn. Initially, we see the fox running down the snowy expanse of what is named the ‘center pier’ on the bottom text (we are along a quay in winter). The shadow of an owl flies over the fox, dipping low almost as if to hit or seize it; the fox sits a moment and watches the bird fly off out over the frozen water. The fox meanders awhile and finally runs off-screen, leaving a set of pawprints. Soon after, the owl flies back in from the sea and lands. The fox enters back into the frame and starts to hesitantly make half-circles around the sitting owl, which seems to ruffle its feathers a few times, almost like a fighting rooster. The owl follows the fox with revolutions of his whole body as the fox draws near and back in cautious semi-circles. The fox draws even closer, mingling their shadows, draws back and then starts, crouching slightly (this could be a flinch, a crouch to show the owl he means no harm, or a semi-lunge). The fox then walks off camera at a moderate pace, leaving the owl sitting for several seconds (this moment seems almost eternal). The owl then flies off, gaining altitude until he too leaves the frame. The pier is lit by several flood and street lights; there is what appears to be a convenience store to camera left, also well-lit.
When Gorky saw the Lumières’ film Repas de bébé in July of 1896, which features a stage chorus line, he memorably wrote: “Their smiles are lifeless, although their movements are full of living energy and are so swift as to be almost imperceptible. Their laughter is silent, although you see the muscles contracting in their gray faces. Before you a life surges, a life devoid of words and shorn of the living spectrum of colors, a gray, silent, bleak, and dismal life.” Like the owl and fox clip, these very early reels were initially shown silent. Almost immediately, sound and music were added in various ways, as marketing revealed that Gorky’s terrified feeling of watching the living dead was almost universally shared.
Watching a silent film silently is still an unnerving experience, yet When the Fox Met the Owl does not take place in a mute cryogenic zone. Onrushing wind and wings’ flap, howls and squawks (if any), a camera or light ballast hum – all of this would sentimentalize the scene. By making it ‘natural’, natural noises now seem to us like synthetic music or ‘room sound’ striped onto the product, due to the historical processes of film technology and audio theories over the last century plus. The silence of this film shows a silent real world, not Gorky’s muted future ghosts, which seems strangely to be beyond human hearing (but not human seeing).
The video was shot in the homeland of the Mississauga (Anishinaabe-speaking) peoples, later named Cobourg, Ontario, Canada, by white settlers. These colonials consolidated the town from several smaller outposts in 1818 – without asking the Mississauga about any of it of course – and named it after the royal Germanic House of Saxe-Coburg und Gotha, who currently occupy the English throne. Cobourg is known for rail and automotive works, as well ‘wealthy Americans’ – at least according to Wikipedia. The film itself has been credited to no one; there are two cuts: one right before the first appearance of the fox, and one after the owl exits the frame, marking the beginning and the end of it. The camera is not specified as far as I can find, so we cannot credit the film as (Untitled), by 4K Nocturnal IP NVR System with Eight 4K (8MP), for example. As for the position of the camera, debates on who is responsible for any camera angle rage between directors and cinematographers, as well as their fans. Here, an anonymous city or private technician is probably responisble. Other related works no doubt exist, shot on street corners and in lobbies all over Cobourg.
Interpretations of the action tend toward the confrontational, but what it resembles most is a ritual dance between the animal stars. The fox does not attack the owl, which sits quizzically in the center, but it does mysteriously circle the bird several times. Things look ‘to be continued’, like a snippet of an ancient relationship which has been interrupted by its own documentation. Anything further is unrecorded (or at least occurs beyond the scope of the camera), yet the action seems quite complete. It is still a popular hit, and deservedly so.
In Japan, the fox (キツネ; kitsune) is said to possess supernatural abilities, not the least of them, shapeshifting. Kurosawa’s film Dreams features one of these occasionally-vengeful changelings. Same with owls. Apache tales feature a Bog Owl Man; a Lenape legend has a hunter who unwisely betrays a vow to an owl; Eskimo myth pairs White Owl and Black Raven; a disrespectful boy is punished by an owl in a Chippewa pedagogic tale. Yet foxes and owls can also be good omens, depending on where and when. In all the worlds’ animal tales, no beast is ever one single thing – with the possible exemption of mankind. I cite only the most famous legends; wherever the fox is found, so is her double. But by collecting myths, perhaps we fall into an anthropomorphic trap. If fox and owl spirits are present, they might avoid of the camera and send their avatars instead to fool us into believing in something more than nature. In an epoch haunted by that darkest of suspicions – that we are all living after nature – animal spirits may feel any warning remains unheard.
And so too does any talk of a ‘photographic moment’ fall flat. The democratic side of photography allows anyone a ‘moment’ perhaps greater than the greatest practitioners of this weird art (especially after the advent of the Polaroid), which is an officious way of saying anyone can get lucky. Now even the despised CCTV gets a chance to invade that pretentious all-too-human ‘moment’, attributed to either mysticism or the genius of a solitary artist. What we have here is a kind of revenge on both the church of art and the church of technology, a ‘parody’ of both poxy houses. So who knows? Maybe the influence of the Trickster is there after all, not only on aesthetics but also on time and the marina.
When money came forcefully to replace the Sacred in art, it could not anticipate that the Everyday would rise up and replace both preciousness and market price. In some ways, the commodity value of a ‘film’ like this truly disappears, but not due to any human desire. It is more due to a loss of control over technics. The wizards have yet again called into being a power whose unintended consequences they can neither forsee nor command. Though human agency created the lowly surveillance camera, the invention has permeated daily life to an unimaginable degree, confirming the soul-stealing qualities Gorky and others saw in the first moving images. The watchers are being watched – but by whom? Not by their superiors in rank; not by the camera; not even by beasts, but by the terrifying blank wall of Technology itself. A great silent barrier producing nervousness, paranoia, an old lust for companionship and the nostalgia for loneliness... Occasionally too, something rare.
When the Fox Met the Owl can hardly be said to be influenced by any other filmmaking, not by Zapruder, David Attenborough and the naturalists or even wild ethnographers like Rouch. Aside from the recording medium film/video, it bears little in common with them. Anyway, the medium is now ubiquitous. The City of London is most monitored city in the world, yet it seems to catch nothing at all except the unpunishable crimes of bankers. The action in this masterpiece has taken place countless times over an infinitely longer span of time, which is why capturing it seems impossible but also unnecessary. Its ‘accidental’ being is why this most ordinary of films never ceases to startle and amaze. Its deserted genius exists by turning us and our automatic cameras into blind fools – cameras that record everything, an everything we paradoxically see less and less the more surveillance pervades an unsettled world. Eavesdroppers all, far outside the snowfall and the game.

Possible Familiars in the World of E.V.O.L
Kamaitachi - Weasels with Sickle-like blades at the end of forelegs and tails. Legends say they travel through the winds of sandstorms. This type of Familiar is violent and hard to control, definitely not for beginners.
Calygreyhound - Creature with the head of wildcat, torso and horns of a deer/antelope, forefeet of a bird's talons, and a lion's tail. Mostly seen among royal families.
Wolpertinger - Rabbit with fangs, antlers, and bird's wings. One of the best Familiar for beginners.
Ahuizotl - Dog/Monkey Hybrids with a human hand for a tail and human eyes. Intelligent tricksters that either require a like-minded witch or a firm, guiding hand.
Bunyip - Amphibian creature with dog-like face, a crocodile-like head, a horse-like tail, flippers, and walrus-like tusks or horns. Very bloodthirsty familiars, mostly found near armies and battlefields.
Hsigo - Monkeys with wings that are dog-like when it comes to loyalty. Another good Familiar for beginners.
Yatagarasu - Three legged crows associated with the sun. Also called Sanzuwu or Samjogo. Some more powerful breeds of this Familiar also sport three eyes or three wings.
Yeth Hound - Headless hounds that can sometimes glide or hover. Most have smoke, fire, acid etc. pouring from their neck where their heads would be. It's very hard to earn their trust, but once you have they're an extremely loyal and capable Familiar.
Valravn - Large wolves with varying amounts of raven features. Some can even transform into a full raven. This type of Familiar typically prefer serving necromancers.
Serpopard - Leopards with long necks and whip-like tails and the fangs and tongues of serpents. Often have the colorations/patterns of different snake species. Have been said to prefer serving those with "a silver tongue".
Ramidreju - Weasels with very long bodies, green fur, and boar's tusks. Typically found near hospitals or in the woods, as they prefer the company of healers or hunters.
Pyrausta - Bug-sized dragons based on different flying insects. They love to nap or play in the fires people lite up.
Nguruvilu - River dwelling foxes that have elongated bodies and claws at the end of their tails. Most either help people cross the water safely or protect the water from pollutants.
Musimon - Half goat, half sheep creatures that have a strong sense of justice along with four or six horns to enact it. This type of Familiar is drawn towards natural born leaders.
Water Leaper - Frogs and toads with bat's wings instead of forelegs, no hind legs, and long, lizard-like tails with stingers at the end. They can often be seen accompany tricksters and liars.
Kurage no Hinotama - Floating jellyfish made of fire. Most like hanging around Will O'Wisp. This Familiar typically favors fortune tellers and other such clairvoyants.
Arkan Sonney - Miniature white Pigs with red eyes and ears and fairy wings. Depending on the individual, they can alter their size to varying degrees. This Familiar likes bringing good fortune to those who have had bad luck in their lives.
Mishipeshu - Underwater panthers that are covered in scales and have spikes running down their spines. They can travel on land but vastly prefer being in the water. This type of Familiar is highly revered amongst seafarers.
Most familiars are seen only following/serving witches and warlocks. Though they can serve any being with a strong connection to magic - no matter the species.
Most mythological/magical creatures not on this list are humanoid or can assume a humanoid form.

For the kiss prompt: Kremrita, under the stars, bc admiration, go.
This is Amrita Companion AU Kremrita. The story takes place very far into Amrita’s personal arc when, with the support of the Inquisitor and her friends, Amrita has made spectacular progress in overcoming her issues.
The battle at Adamant Fortress had been… Nightmarish, at best. Amrita had stayed behind with the support staff, healing the most deadly wounds and straightening broken bones when her magic waned. Stitches had been at her side for most it and shoved a savory-filled pastry into her hands every time they were empty until she had finally realized she was supposed to eat it instead of passing it off to a patient.
She imagined he was rather annoyed with her after that, but they hadn’t had a chance to speak since the battle ended.
Amrita herself was rather cross, but she didn’t know at whom her ire was directed. A soldier or warrior of some description had lured her out of the medical tents with claims of a mortally injured friend, only to somehow trick her into laying down at which point her body had betrayed her and she fell asleep. When she woke up, far too many hours later, Fox and the Chargers hadn’t let her near the medical tents for hours, claiming that she needed time to regenerate her magical energy.
With no small measure of annoyance, Amrita had frowned sternly at them before stalking off through the camp to help the cooks.
Three days later, they were still in camped outside of Adamant Fortress, but no one was actively dying and Amrita didn’t feel guilty leaving the medical tents. After the crush and bustle of healing and triaging and organizing the boiling of fresh bandages, Amrita needed time to herself. With a stale ration bar in hand, Amrita settled herself down on a sand-blasted old log sunk halfway into the quickly-cooling sand.
The Western Approach was almost beautiful at night. The darkness hid most of the devastation generations of war and drought wrought on the land. The lack of cities on the expanse meant the night sky was clear and unobscured by light pollution. Amrita tilted her head back and simply stared up at the stars, trying her best not to search them for constellations lest she recognize… A specific one.
“Amrita,” Krem said softly from behind her. He had approached with the sound of his footsteps lost to the sand. In his hands was a rather large bread bun. “Do you want to be alone, or may I join you?”
Thankful that the blush on her cheeks was lost to the darkness, Amrita said, “It would be alright, if it’s just you.”
Krem sat on the log and scooted towards her a little at a time. His face was twisted in concentration as he watched her reaction with every inch closer he moved.
It took effort, but Amrita managed not to stiffen or cringe away, not even when Krem was sitting close enough that his armor brushed against her sleeves. Amrita leaned against him for a moment before shyness got the better of her and she straightened, though she didn’t pull away in earnest.
“Chief shoved this thing on me and said I’m on latrine duty for a week if I don’t eat all of it. Apparently, the scratch on my arm warrants more bedrest and overeating,” Krem said, gesturing to the bread bun. He laughed and then turned his smile on Amrita.
“That was much more than a scratch,” Amrita said, measuring her words. “But perhaps that much food would be excessive.”
“I’m glad you agree.” Krem beamed at her again, his grin brighter than the stars overhead. He tore off a third of the bun and pressed it into Amrita’s hands. “I was hoping you’d help me take care of it.”
Amrita had been the target of this particular manipulation enough times since joining the Inquisition that she can see it for what it is. (Dorian told her. She might never have realized it on her own, but when she asked if she should talk with the cooks about too-large portions he had laughed and spilled the secret.) But knowing it was manipulation also came with knowing that it was an act of love, so Amrita didn’t protest and simply bit into the soft bread.
“Oh, wow, Fenrir’s really bright tonight,” Krem said. He had his head tilted back to look up at the stars while absentmindedly eating his share of the bread. The way he devoured it in no time at all made it more than clear that it being too much was a ruse.
“I’m… Not familiar with that constellation,” Amrita said. She wrapped up the rest of her stale ration and hid it away in a pocket for later before nibbling on the sweet, heavy bread.
Krem leaned and held up his arm, pointing at the stars one at a time and waiting her Amrita’s nods before moving onto each successive one. “My dad told me it’s named after a wolf so clever he was able to escape hunters by running off into the sky, but I was talking with Dalish and she said the Dalish have their own story for it.”
“Do they?” Amrita asked. She was curious, without a doubt, but Krem had put his free arm around her waist after pointing out the stars. And the last thing she wanted was for him to move it.
“Yeah, apparently it’s actually Fen’Harel, you know, the Dread Wolf? The one the Dalish are always cursing because he’s a trickster? Seems pretty obvious we up in Tevinter just decided to take it for ourselves.”
Amrita tore her gaze from the stars and looked at Krem’s face. Even though it was dark, the moon was bright enough for her to make out his features, so dear to her, even after such a short time. “That’s good of you, to acknowledge it.”
Krem laughed and returned her attention. “I don’t think I deserve an award for admitting my people stole as much as they could from the Dalish, but I appreciate it all the same.”
Unable to contain herself in light of his humility, Amrita braced herself and leaned in, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. Her face was certainly bright red with shyness, but at least she didn’t immediately look at her feet.
For his part, Krem just beamed at her again, his smile so bright it nearly hurt to look at. He kissed her cheek in return, though he let his lips linger like brands against her cool skin. Without pulling away, he said merely, “Thank you.”

Randoms
Ten facts about your muse:
- Koh loves to be with animals and can sometime spend more time with them than with people.
- She doesn’t often talk about her Miqo’te family, having to had been banished from her tribe at a young age to fend for herself in the Dravanian wilderness where she had been born. However, she had been adopted by hunters from Tailfeather and grew to be a hunter.
- There are times Koh can be fearless in front of large beasts, eager to tame them.
- While there are numerous creatures under Koh’s care, she has a few under her wing. Notably a juvenile hoarhound, a common wolf, a gagana, and an exotic blue-green zu. Smaller creatures she takes care of personally are tiger and coeurl kittens, wolf pups, hunting hawks and owls, and fox kits.
- A blue owlet can be found around Koh often. It had with her since her childhood, though it can be mistaken by most as one of the numerous owls she cares for.
- Koh is sometimes quite timid around strangers until she gets to know them. However, she is patient with others and also has a curious spirit.
- She will take any opportunity she has free time to travel around the world. Currently her favorite spots to visit is the Far-East.
- When it comes to handling the bow and arrows (primitive combat), Koh excels at it. However, when she has any sort of technology or magical equipment, she is clueless on how to use them.
- In addition to her traditional clan markings, she has another tattoo (one that Koh keeps hidden from the public) that snakes up her right arm to her shoulders - to partially over his chest and side of his neck. It used to be simple in design and much smaller on her forearm originally, but over the years it had grown very intricate; seemingly continuing to expand and not made by any hand. She was not born with these marks, but had somehow gotten them when she was a child and has no memory obtaining them. Though it is suspected that it originated from being in contact with a voidsent in the forest of her homeland.
- Koh is originally a man...Koh’ya is what she was called as male, but due to a tricky fox voidsent (separate from the one mentioned above) in her custody it had changed ‘him’ to a her for now.

So I shared this on facebook and it seems like it's a hit, and even though I don't know how many people will see it on here I thought I should share it. Feel free to share it, tell the story of the witch and join me in the new houses.
Many years ago the children of the world fell under the sway of a terrible witch. She did not appear terrible, as most often happens her darker side was only shown later. In the beginning she came to the world as one of their own, kindly offering the children of the world magic and dreams, stories of courage and a home for those, who like most children at some point, needed one. The children served under colored banners based on their traits, on how kind or courageous or cunning they were, they were granted places in the land her stories told of, dressed in the trappings of her worlds and spoke a new language the witch had taught them. But as they tend to do, the children grew, and although new children came every day to serve beneath the banners, the older children who had grown to adults in the witch's world began to notice terrible things.
The witch who had once taught them to fight against the growing dark, to work together against insurmountable odds, to face fear and hate head on and rely upon each other when all seems lost began to say troubling things. It started as whispers, perhaps she was mistaken? The witch had taught them so much, but she was not all knowing, perhaps she was ignorant of the darker meanings behind the words she spoke? But alas, it was not so. The witch was revealed for what she really was. She had become like the dark lord she had taught the children to fight: infected with hate, embracing fear. The witch had built them into an army, but although she had taught them to be brave and bold, cunning and clever the witch had forgotten that she had also asked them to be kind. The children turned from her, speaking out against the witch as she had taught them to do against all those who embraced the dark. Some stripped themselves of their colors, ashamed to have been a part of the witch's hate, or not wanting to seem like they were supporting her. Some went on either unaware or uncaring because some children come from dark families who shared the witch's views much like the dark lord had had his followers.
Those that set aside their colors were saddened by the loss. Their houses had been symbolic homes, ties between generations of strangers who had shared in the witch's stories and world. It was necessary, but it was lonely. Then one day as a member of the snake house talked about finding another outlet to represent their traits like they had with their houses and colors, it made a badger house member think. The witch hadn't given the children their magic, all children have magic and some hold on to that magic as they grow. She may have given names to the houses, but she could not stop them from building their own. And so, the badger who was no longer a badger thought long and hard and used her magic to build new houses for the other children who were no longer children. She made better houses, who would turn no one away, where all were welcome and equal, houses filled with love. And she asked that the other children tell the story of the terrible witch, that everywhere they could, they would welcome children young and old into the new houses.
Packhearth
Wolves- gold, black, gray, white
Despite their representation in popular culture, wolves are some of the most loyal, steadfast and caring animals. Wolves are complex, highly intelligent animals who are playful, and above all devoted to family. They take care of the sick, injured and weak and raise their pups in a communal setting. Wolves form friendships and life long bonds with their pack, working cooperatively to succeed.
Loyalty, cooperation, caring, these are the traits of Packhearth house. Packhearth's wear gold and black, gray and sky blue, the colors of fur and eyes, and the skies above.
Striginest
The owl is a symbol of vigilance, acute wit and has been associated with spirits since olden times. They are portrayed as guides in the underworld and wise sages in folklore. Owls are great hunters and many associate them with wisdom, keen sight, and patience. Most owls are nocturnal and it is not uncommon for those from Striginest house to be likewise inclined. They are curious, intelligent, witty and observant, often the ones who will repeatedly say "one more chapter" well into the night.
Striginest's choose colors associated with night: deep blues of the night sky and silver stars, although dark purple and aurora green are not unheard of as well.
Skulkden
Clever, sly, cunning, a trickster of folklore and legend. Foxes are well deserving of these portrayals, easily adapting to a variety of environments, finding food in the leanest of times and outwitting many a seasoned hunter. Foxes are smart and secretive, living in small family groups with a strict pecking order. Skulkden house members reflect many of the traits of their house mascot: they are clever, cunning, quick and adaptable, using everything at their disposal to succeed.
Skulkden's choose the greens and silver of the dew draped morning grasses that hide their passing, along with the occasional white or pink of foxglove.
Hardiherd
Noble, brave, faithful, strong, fast, the horse has always played an important role in human history. They have plowed our fields, provided transport and ridden into war with us. Wherever humans have gone, horses have followed. Horses are very social, friendly and intelligent animals, forming close bonds that will last throughout their lives. They love to run and play, and are quick to learn new things. Hardiherd's likewise are noble, brave, strong, quick to learn and love to play. Their house colors are reds, coppers, bronze and gold.

*a picture of Yanfei at her first festival was delivered to Lance since the photos needed time to be processed*
Lance was doing some training but then blinks seeing some picture. It was delivered to see their daughter at her first festival eating some pretty tasty goodies. He swishes his fox tail to smile. She was so adorable. Just like her papa.

(Hey Lance, how do you love Raidou's new looks and hairstyle)
~~~~~~~~
Lance said nothing when looking at this but he was flushed red again. However, he covers his face using his fox tail. Seems like he likes it.
Oh snap, its Raidou's Birthday!
"Huh? Oh I know. Right now me and Yanfei is getting his present ready. Thanks for the reminder anon." He smiled even if he was seeing his daughter fixing up a bow on a box the two were ready for the birthday.
