gotta take this out my head,shhh Rant! Puppet and Eclipse are too harsh on Sun im watching puppets and eclipse show, because idk,reasons, I was staring to like puppet more, they are quite nicer than I recall but.. flaws.. idk exactly whats up, but I know the two are in a dimention thats just staring ,Sun and Moon have been awake for weeks, for what is been said around.. Eclipse is clearly having a hard time separating his own issues and is worring me a bit see, I love the idea Eclipse is watching and hoping to not interviene too much into anyone's development, but Moon's situation clearly touched a nerve on him.. he was moon indeed but something I think they are forgetting is that..Eclipse here doesnt have his original memories, if Moon actually got rid of all copies left, means Ruin had to recreate most of the memories left in the show or he re wrote it all what makes him acting so angry and offended at Sun's fears the less understandable, since he's taking things too personal from memories installed on him, most likely what the show had showed us and the more he talks over his memories the more I worry he's gonna end up forgetting things relevant to his character, his hatred on Sun..

the Sun we know was unable to know he was there and when he did he tried to talk sense into Eclipse! offer him a body! HE refused it! when the take over happened ,OG eclipse only played mind tricks but never reactivated the pain like he did on Moon.. so it has me a bit confused on why Eclipse hates Sun so much here.. then again I can assume he's just still trying to adjust to the change, having to face the two people that killed him, and pretty much grew to hate would make things tense..

but that has me confused and a bit annoyed? is that both Puppet and Eclipse,without even knowing any of the two long enough,judge too fast and clearly dislike Sun from what they view as a selfish act of control how I see it, the two woke up, this Moon is clearly more calm than the one we know, they never actually had a chance to talk like the ones we know! and when the lights go out suddently one of the two is in pain now this had to happend maybe for a week for Sun to develop a fear so high it had him avoiding even shadows of objects, that aside, is often forgotten sun is a stress ball, and a people pleaser, it so clear to see his AI is in development as he doesnt know that Kids bleed and they cant be lifted too high.. yet he is aware adults do bleed... so what they view as "selfish" is actually only the way he had to ensure not only his safety but others! as Moon is not even hiding his lack of worry over hurting someone! kiddos! when he meet FC he was clearly ready to harm him! now, Moon is also too calm,respecfull and even a bit childish by the way he talked to Eclipse, asking to play games and what he's done , adorable! so having him killing seems way too wild yet again, Sun is unable to actually know what his other do, all he knows is to fear the one he cant talk to.. and when Moon does talk to him? is still too much for him to handle, deleting the video is not an act of "not caring" is trying to avoid comfrotation, he simply havent been able to come to terms how he's feeling over Moon enough to feel safe talking to him! I cant just go along the protagonist that simply walked into his home, boss him around and stared to force him into situations he's terrified of idk I feel for Both and is good Eclipse is aware they are messing things up a bit.. (side rant, I find adorable that Moon got too pissy over Eclipse talking him down, its kinda having me thinking Moon admires Eclipse due to his smartness and he's still thansksfull for the help, he clearly wants to be friends and Eclipse here is just an ass, Moon didn swear until he meet Eclipse, hope they hang out!!)

road trip slide show!

Road-trip to view the 2024 total Solar Eclipse in Missouri, USA was packed with experiences (only 3 minutes of which was viewing the total eclipse). See/read the slide show under the cut!

Our journey started on Saturday and we expected to spend at least 5-6 hours in the car each day (it is 12 hours drive time to our eclipse viewing location in Missouri). Actual time spent on road each day was around 9 🤣 - so our greatest effort on the math figuring out how long our days would be. Ufda, getting to your Airbnb at 9pm each day is exhausting.

There are three humans and one animal on this trip, myself, husband, friend, and friend’s dog.

First event we experienced: the Mississippi River!

Now this needs some background - I live 3 minute drive away from the Mississippi in Minnesota. Could walk to it if I wanted. I’ve been to the headwaters in Itasca, MN and the delta in Louisiana. I cross this river almost daily for the grocery store or to see family … it’s like a big part of life where I live.

We arrived in Guttenberg, IA to Lock and Dam #10 and I’m like - ooh big river! Hey guys, which River is this?

Yeah, the big River here in this part of the United States is …. The Mississippi River. 🤦

Laughs all around - we enjoyed a short walk near the lock and dam, enjoyed all the fun street names, found a bathroom, and got back on the road.

By the way - one of our road trip companions was very cute and a very good puppers for the entire trip. Just amazing!

So day two - husbeast (husband) loudly stated a desire for a roadside attraction during today’s driving. The world’s biggest something, or weirdest whatever …. Something cool. Our friend did some kick butt research and found …. American Giants museum in Atlanta, Illinois. A mere 15 minutes off the hwy; and we were incredibly fortunate cause it was the first weekend they were open on Sundays too!

Upon entering the main downtown area we were greeted by: Paul Bunyon (hot dog man)

And our Minnesota hearts were so happy to see this large giant friend who is also a Paul Bunyan - but different name spelling cause of copyright issues 🤣🤣🤣 (or so the sign stated).

The dog was NOT a fan of hot dog Paul Bunyon man, but we were!

And the museum - y’all it was top notch! A single room, but like, FABULOUS write ups for the history of the Big Friends fiberglass works. Just awesome. The volunteers - also top notch. So friendly and happy to chat.

And if you’re anywhere near there, Memorial Day weekend they are getting one of the last remaining 6 Texaco giants!

Back on the road and onto our next stop which was ….St. Louis and the Gateway Arch.

And guess what! We saw a BIG RIVER! Hey guys, which River is this ….. it’s the Mississippi, still. 🤣🤣

Back on the road to Union, MO to rest up for ECLIPSE DAY!

Many many many friends and family informed us that the traffic TO the eclipse would be pretty good … but leaving the eclipse location would double or triple driving time. WORTH IT!

Many people have written about viewing an eclipse, how it’s an amazing experience. The highlights for me?

When the sun is totally eclipsed you are able to see SUNSET colors at the horizon EVERYWHERE - which is just like …. I love clouds and sunsets and that was AWESOME

Again, totally eclipsed you can see STARS (maybe it’s a planet?) - like the brightest starts are visible!

as the sun returns, the sky opposite the sun looks like twilight, while the light illuminating your front is like day. It’s wild.

total drive time on eclipse day:

1.5 hours from Airbnb to eclipse viewing spot

4 hours to travel same distance away from eclipse

Oh, and side note, traveling to our overnight after the eclipse, we crossed the Mississippi again. “Hey guys, what big river is this?” 🤣

The eclipse was a real highlight of the trip. But not the only highlight.

On the final day of travel, our picnic lunch location took us to a small town in Iowa. As we turn off the highway we see “Welcome to Riverside, IA” and immediately husbeast is exclaiming …

“We’re going to the future birthplace of CAPTAIN KIRK!” We’re huge Star Trek fans in this house - and we met the friend traveling with us thru a Star Trek podcast group many years ago. She’s been to Trekfest in Riverside before, and highly recommends attending. It’s a sweet gathering of wonderful Star treky people … and the few locals we spoke to in Riverside were very friendly!

Fabulous trip. on final count, we crossed the Mississippi 4 times, and I asked which River it was only 3 times. Go me.

It wasn’t just about the destination, but the journey along the way.

Wrote a quarter of a page in my journal

I was lazy most of the day. I felt like watching all the Twilight movies again after finishing Midnight Sun the other day. I chilled on the couch all day with my puppers. I watched an episode of Lucifer too. I want to get back into watching that show, but most of the time I’m not in the mood for it, even though I like it. I got in my reading and then wrote in my journal. I did not edit the photos or video like I was supposed to, and I did not spend any time working on my room. I washed a blanket, though. I am messing around on my computer and finding apps that I like. I will probably start editing the wedding stuff before I go to bed.

I plan on getting in some reading tomorrow. I would also like to catch up on my JOMPBPC posts. We shall see!

I made a complete crew pony set starting with this Kiko pony!

Crew patches were made to raise money to make the final seasons of the show so I recreated them in minature for the matching space suits on the ponies.

But wait! There’s a pupper!!!

I had to make Kiko’s french bulldog, Lord Kingsley.

Sadly the puppy’s helmet didn’t survive postage to america but I was still so happy with how these turned out. (Remember how I said Josephine ran out of pony room)

It would be great if the Bernadette Banner and Karolina Żebrowska show could get made. Their excitement would just be contagious. Here's one of the oldest things ever woven and it's plaid! This dress is one of the earliest examples of tailoring that shows of boobs! Look how modern these shoes look and they're thousands of years old! And of course they'd have to dress up for whatever time period that episode revolves around.

Menwhile... I started Picard but it didn't click. I might restart Umbrella Academy, got thru 1 1/2 half episodes, or try to start Wandavision.

I want to see these things, and others, but it's got to be the right media at the right time, if you know what I mean. I'm looking for a combination of comfort and new. Something like a familiar actor in a new work or a familiar franchise like Star Trek with new actors.

I suppose some of it at the moment is remembering how different things were a year ago, the tree smash was on 2-22, so I'm looking forward to this Twos-Day being better.

Do take a moment and reflect on this possibly once in a life time day, like when the solar eclipse happened, and just go 'wow' to yourself.

Kind of like that feeling when you touch a meteorite.

Everyone should touch a meteorite at least once in their lives so you know you're touching something that is as old as the universe, what ever your beliefs on its creation are.

Small get it out of my system rant after the picture of nubby wubby pupper ears. His grew to be nice and floppy. Brudder's wagger was the first to wag purposefully when he saw me.

A couple more days and that whole year that started with a tree smash will be behind me.

Even tho the neighbors were up partying until 2am and then their dinosaurs started screaming not long after I will still prefer that to the wake up call at the last place where a screaming hallucinating doesn't believe they've been diagnosed schizophrenic insists everyone hear vulgarities.

If you've never been trapped in an abusive situation for whatever reason I hope you never have to know what it feels like to be free.

Those anti autism commercials that want to frighten you into thinking an autistic child will ruin your life should be changed to an adult family member who doesn't believe they have a severe mental illness.

Most autistic people have table manners, the sense not to soil themselves, and hopefully aren't abusive and say "I'm autistic" when it's convenient as an excuse but otherwise insist they aren't.

ICYMI, space scientists really don't want us staring up at the sun for today's solar eclipse without wearing the right eye protection.

Sure, you can make your own viewing devices at home, but that doesn't mean you can just wear any old thing and call it a day. But that hasn't stopped some people on the internet from showing off their creatively non-functioning solar eclipse glasses. They may not think the glasses will work, but they sure think they're funny.

whats the first five minutes of the episode anyway let's just waste it on this fucking nonsense Didn't they do this with the last Lapis and Peridop episode too, with the art "I'M PRESSING THE META JOKE BUTTON AND THEREFORE IT'S GOOD!! I BET NO ONE'S EVER MADE FUN OF MODERN ART BEFORE" bullshit. reeeeeee Best of all this actually would have been an okay episode concept on its own. Peripot and Lapis facing their own shortcomings, Steven getting to give some of his odder powers a spin, a lighthearted episode where the characters get to fluff around and learn valuable life lessons about friendship and pet ownership. Overall probably pointless but it'd give my heart the warm fluffy feelings, you know, like some of the earlier episodes...

And I suppose this actually shows one of the few remaining traits of SU that I actually somewhat like- they cut right through the bullshit. Sometimes. Steven doesn't keep going with the lie that they not him made the pumpkin pupper, and he realises pretty quickly that he traumatised the poor thing for life with his jackolantern carving and swiftly decides to pretend it never happened. It's the same as in the episode with Peridock and the roller coaster and shit, where she starts bitching about how shapeshifting is herp a derp derp but admits she's just salty grapes immediately when confronted. It's a great way not to dwell too long on stupid shit and keep your comedic bullshit out of your drama. It's refreshing.

Apparently Steven's healing spit is what makes vegetables come to life now. ... Okay, I think we might have seen this before with the watermelons, but it's long since been eclipsed by the healing thing, so bringing it up again now is just a bit... weird.

And... Pearl brings out the wedding cake. I get that this is supposed to be "oh lol the alines were told to combine the celebrations but they don't know how to humans!! oh no" but it's just... you know how the (stereotypical) conservative opinion on gay marriage or whatever is that it's ruining marriage and an affront to the sacred tradition? At least two men or two women marrying each other vaguely resembles the usual type of marriage. A bunch of aliens, two adult men and a kid, the latter three being relatives, getting "married" is... you've become a parody of yourself. What is this shit. Also I could have sworn that in one shot that cake had a bunch of grooms in tuxedos on it but only one bride, despite there being slightly more women ("women") than men present... you know, because the gems are proud gender-defying people of gender or something and steven's the one in a dress... or something... what the fuck garnet passes greg with the cake slice and goes straight to andy

holy shit awkward as fuck table discussion about putting corn in a mirror. hey guys this is what inside jokes look like, this is how anyone has conversations "Thank you, Andy, for showing up!" And... you know... for letting ("letting") them use the barn and the plane... if they'd said that right then it might almost have made up for something in this fucking episode, but apparently they just near immediately forgot what he'd been complaining about in the first place. "Did we do somthing wrong?" YES

and then steven's float powers don't work because he might as well not have those huh and then pumpkin boi barfs up a cake person thing and the episode just fucking ends

Overall this episode was... bizarrely less offensive than I expected it to be. Mostly because it was just meh. Like, Andy was halfway between a strawman of the conservative mindset or some shit and somewhat... reasonable. Like in a few scenes once the gems buggered off he cooled down about whatever offense they'd just committed against himself and his family's property while he was just with Greg and Steven. Which brings up the question of what he was even upset about... what, the mayonnaise family fell apart entirely offscreen? Who gives a fucknuggets. I was expecting a "oh you don't actually disagree with us you're just saaaaaaadd (oh and we get to keep your stuff)" schick but instead Andy... doesn't even really oppose the gems. What was even the point of any of this?
