Time wizard is such a funny card because not only is there like a 50-50 chance that you just trash your own monsters, there's also some kind of chance that the other person's monster is one that doesn't turn to dust after a thousand years and so instead of tanking them you supercharged them and sealed your own fate

I think the concept of fictional characters breaking the fourth wall to find out about their own ships is always funny, but I need you to imagine lawlight learning about lawlight for a second. Light's face goes completely blank save for a violent eye twitch while he internally cycles through all five stages of grief and at least 10 emotions not yet recognised by the field of psychology within a matter of seconds, after which he plasters on a very strained polite smile and asks what "law" stands for in the most fake saccharine voice you've ever heard. L tries to murder Light with his bare hands. Light decks L in the face while getting choked out and weasels away, politely excusing himself for a minute, then L drops dead immediately after. i originally was sorta happy in a bittersweet way cause i thought, well at least marcille has company, they have eachother to lean on now!

...but then i realized marcille isnt immortal. shes gonna live LONG, but shes not immortal. AND I GOT SO EXTREMELY SAD

can you imagine, trying to convince your friend not to extend everyones lifespans to a scarily long degree. and then having to help her deal with that fear and grief of losing her loved ones. AND THEN REALIZING YOURE IMMORTAL AND OUTLIVING ALL OF YOUR LOVED ONES INCLUDING HER. imagine being marcille as she gets older watching laios experience the same exact fear and grief she knows so well and knowing she cant do anything other than reassure him itll be alright. imagine being so scared to die and now suddenly you know someone who CANT die and realizing thats SO MUCH WORSE paces in circles. AAAAAAUGH

additional thought of this au, what if this was part of the demons curse to never allow laios' greatest desire to be granted? i mean laios is a very simple guy with simple wants, he wants to be loved, to eat good food, to study monsters, to be around his friends, and generally just live a normal life. being immortal would definitely complicate things... he'll be able to see and experience so many things but he wont be able to do it with his loved ones, not for long.

and also, being king, he'd probably be in that position for a long long time - maybe he'd willingly retire at some point but even after that where would he go then? what would he do? he cant go and find monsters to study, they all avoid him. i guess, explore the rest of the world? watch everything move on without him?

speaking of, imagine if he lived up until a time like modern day. so many years so many friends (gained and lost) and so many changes... that would be insane. THIS IS SPIRALLING INTO ME JUST GOING "WOULDNT IT BE FUCKED UP TO BE IMMORTAL" AJDNSJXBAH

god i am SO tired of spideypool all the time. it's a constant i love her... i hate her.. i love her... i hate her... sort of a thing

at one point i got so tired of spideypool i left for four years (it was the mcu's fault) - but i kind of always come back somehow...

i think there's just something about these guys. i just - i really like writing them. i just really, really like them. i wish everyone loved them like i do. they're so neat. i want everyone to know about them. i want to hold them in my hands and share them with the whole class. i really, really like them. i want people to see how complicated and cool they are. like they're shiny pebbles i found on the shore and everyone has to see them. look at all the funny little details. there's a funny little pattern on this one. look. look. look look look look!!!

i don't think i've ever had a hyperfixation quite so lasting that has sunk it's hooks so deeply in my brain like spider-man and deadpool. and i hate that it's them. and sometimes i beat myself up about it, that this is the thing that my brain is excited about more than anything but - i'm kind of lucky that i've found that. i've found the thing that makes me excited, and that i want to create for.
