Chapter 27

They wake in a euphoric haze, but it is only temporary. Reality beats dire trenches into honeyed moments. Nothing lasts forever. Our Inquisitor schemes and Solas is seemingly still testing her. As for what, Moon'Hwa isn't sure. They travel to the most intimate place in this ruined sanctum and our ambitious protagonist is presented with a lethal opportunity. But can she strike him down with their daughter in his arms? Moon'Hwa makes a truly deleterious connection and now the fate of her daughter hangs in the balance. Perhaps Solas has plans for her as well and the implications of such designs frighten our Inquisitor more than Corypheus ever could. An unfortunate mistake throws her world into chaos and this test ends incomplete. But will she fail the next or make a miscalculation that dooms them all? One man left alone, a woman betrayed and all that separates the two of them is a dagger sheathed in rage.

CW (please read) under the line---This is a Dark Solas fic. In fact, I wrote most characters in this fic as villains, even Moon'Hwa. There are no heroes here.

cant tell you how bad it feels to constantly tell other artists to come to tumblr, because its the last good website that isn't fucked up by spoonfeeding algorithms and AI bullshit and isn't based around meaningless likes

All things considered, this isn't a terrible day to be reading the end of Dracula. A story of a group of people banding together to defeat a great evil, motivated by their love for each other and their will to protect the most vulnerable among them. The victory doesn't come without sacrifice and heartbreak, but it does come. And life continues afterward.

Chapter 29

Well here we are at the beginning of the end! I can't believe I started posting these chapters every weekend for like 29 weeks! This is one of the darker chapters, and its one of my favorites. Here is a clip narrated by Siri! (Alex)

Moon'Hwa wakes to a startling revelation, and Solas leads her to the last artifact. Their relationship takes a deadly turn, is there truly no hope? Can the Dread Wolf and the current Thedas truly not co-exist? Everything comes to a head. Everything is on the line. But who will be left standing in the end? The fate of Thedas is at the mercy of a regretful god's hands and a lone woman with a hidden dagger.

“I’m a twin”, Damian said one night. He could feel the narrowed eyes of his family drilling holes on his back in disbelief. Not that he could blame them. Damian had never so much as implied being raised with a companion, much less a sibling.

“I had a brother”. Damian paused to recollect himself. He had not said his brother’s name out loud in over 8 years.

“His name was… Danyal”. Damian hated the way his voice wavered, but he could not help it. Danyal was everything to him, his other half. Their heart beat as one and when one heart stopped beating, the other one died with it. At least until his family put his heart on metaphorical life support without ever realizing.

“Where is he now?” His father asked, voice filled with knowing grief and a hint of betrayal. It had in fact been 6 years since Damian first showed up on his doorstep.

“Up there”. All eyes shifted towards the specific star he was pointing to. “Right before he died, he promised me he’d guide me from the stars. Unfortunately, the stars are not visible in Gotham, so my brother is unable to be of much help unless I leave the city.”

“Your brother is Polaris, the North Star?” Tim questioned warily, most likely in attempts to not offend him. Damian was aware of how stupid it sounded, but Danyal had promised, and his brother never broke his promises.

“Yes. Danyal is with the stars now, just as he always wanted”

Zmarqa is one of my absolute favorite Hualian artists that I found on Twitter and this is just a taste of some of her more recent work.

She writes and draws her own comics of AUs involving them that have so much thought put into them. Her pieces in general are so detailed and you're almost always rewarded for taking the time to really look at them.

Since she's not active here on Tumblr, I would highly recommend following her on Twitter (zmarqa), Twitch (Zmarqaa), or, if you have the spare funds, Patreon (Zmarqa). Her Patreon Discord is full of great folks and she pretty frequently streams on there for patrons, so it is well worth the cost.
