The thing is- Spencer can still be written as Bi, and it would fit his character almost seamlessly.

Ok so- we all know we were robbed of Bi king Spencer in the original show. Fuck CBS, all my homies hate CBS etc etc- BUT, and even tho we saw most of Spencer's adult life, an late, bisexual awakening would fit him alot actually.

Tara was easy to write as queer due to the fact we saw so little of her personal life on the original show- all we know it's that she was married and had a fiancee, so making her Pan in the revival wasn't that hard to fit in with that. Spencer is the opposite- we know him since he was 23. A babu. And know lots of lil bits and pieces of his childhood and teenage dreams- and we also know he does what he can to fit in.

This is mostly dedicated to his neurodivergent traits- stuff that was mostly the reason why he was so brutally picked on school. But come on- in the community we know what "trying to fit in" means growing.

So we have this kid that grew up on a unstable, sometimes downright hostile environment that went after him for being "unusual"- ofc he would never explore his own sexuality besides "Girls Pretty"- he is literally that "I might be No Binary but I have work tomorrow so I don't have time for that" meme. Boy was furthering his education and taking care of of his mom. He had alot of his plate already. High school/College is when most queer people figure out shit for themselves but, and I quote "I was 12- it was all very confusing". Any chance of having a relationship with a fellow student would be at best weird- at worst literally illegal.

So yeah, time to go solve crimes- his dating and personal life become non-existent. His only girlfriend he didn't even know show she looked until she got murdered and is heavily implied the grief and quilt was there UNTIL THE VERY LAST FUCKING EPISODE- thus stopping him from fully moving on with his life.

Flash forward to now- he is in therapy. He is often encouraged to do stuff out of his confort zone (ie: have a life) and hadn't been with the BAU for what? 3 years? 4?? And his ghost girlfriend told him to pretty much focus on healing and finding himself for once-

So in conclusion, give my boy a boyfriend.

Lore fact of the day, in honour of Hiram and Morgan's wedding anniversary: this was the only time that Hiram felt calm with a blindfold on.

Being blindfolded makes him remember the violant incident, and it always gives him headaches. Also, he doesn't like people to know that he can't feel anything around his eyes.

He only trust three people with this information: Griz (his oldest friend, he told her everything after the incident), the Deviless (she found out when Hiram couldn't feel her hands on his cheeks) and Morgan (they found out much later when Hiram decided to trust them again).

honestly the character development that federico had was insanely impressive and heartwarming to see. he's still the same robotic man he is but he's a lot more considerate of people's emotions and opinions, even if he doesn't understand it. it's not the best but he's got his heart in the right place... sorta ( •̯́ ₃ •̯̀)

yknow what ive seen a lot of "gaster and chara fucking hated each other" headcanons but ive seen very little of the opposite. which to me is kinda sad bc imo its a better, more fun interpretation.

i like to imagine gaster looked at this hurt, traumatized child and saw a bit of himself in them. and so he offered them advice.

yall know the smile theory? that smiling make monsters stronger in a way? that it can stave off death, even if for a short while, etc? that *thats* the significance of it, the reason why its so tied to gaster? that could very well be the reason chara is known for their smile, too.

i nean- theyre a child who was so badly hurt they were practically obsessed with the concept of finality—a state in which they are too powerful to be hurt by anyone. i can see them not smiling almost at all when they first fell (what is there to smile about?) until they hear from gaster that a smile is protection. when you smile, others cant hurt you as bad. a smile is like armor. he smiles to stay safe because he knows all thats out there, all thats capable of harm.

and from then on chara smiles no matter what. they smile and laugh through the wordt moments. because they know now this is their armor. their protection.

i rhink they would admire gaster. his efforts for monsterkind, his advice to them. i think theyd see him as someone trustworthy (in my own personal headcanon, he knew about their and asriels plan. not fully, i mean, but he knew the lengths chara could go to. and the only reason he knew was because he would do the same. chara told him because they saw a kindred spirit)

i like to think gaster is crushed post charas death. i also like to think that, if chara remembers gaster after their "revival", *then* they would have issues. we know nothing about gaster canonically, sure, but in my own headcanon and theory world, the things he does make less and kess sense to chara, align less with their worldview and their beliefs. and only then do they clash with him. because at first he was someone they genuinely loved, someone they admired.

anyway, i think gaster thought of them almost as family. he cared for them deeply, always ready to give advice or comfort or teach them or. really anything. they would sit and talk for hours about the world and their personal philosophies and findings. i want gaster, like the dreemurrs, to be part of the loving world chara never got to experience on the surface rather than yet another enemy. you know?

But this makes me wonder if Ingo and Emmet have different preferences on their pizza.

Like Emmet loves Alolan Style Pizza (with plenty pinap berries)

While Ingo is a pepperoni cheese kind of guy.

(I picked these for the twins because from one site I found one is the most liked kind of pizza while the other is the most disliked. Kinda fits their whole opposite from each other aesthetic)

I like to think that if their preferences in pizza are very different it could lead to Ingo recognizing that the flavor isn't his favorite (probably far from it) but it gives him a comforting familiarity anyway since the flavor is associated with someone he deeply cares about.

Even with memories gone I think some things, such as flavors or even music go beyond memories and resonate with feelings.

And oh yes, I definitely think they have different preferences! My discord actually talked about this exact thing a few weeks ago (for something I’m writing off a prompt that I will admit is actually very very close to this scenario)

But yes, Ingo and Emmet have different tastes when it comes to pizza preferences, and probably have had to eat their fair share of the other’s favorite (and I like your headcanons for their favorites! Elesa’s especially; she would love spicy).

Ingo would have a hard time putting into his thoughts why he feels so weird about this pizza that Akari brought him. He does not like it, yet something about it is very nostalgic and weirdly comforting to him. He might initially chalk it up to just missing pizza in general.

I think there is something very romantic if not sensual in learning or playing an instrument, you get really attached to them, there's a real tangible bond there.

I recently picked up my old bass that I haven't played in years, I didn't play anything but even just holding him was so wonderful, feeling his strings, wiping the dust off and falling in love with that beautiful swirling wooden pattern again. It was like reconnecting with an old lover, like he was happy to see me.

What are your thoughts?

there are a lot of bad takes out there on the piano (1993) and i think some of that stems from people wanting a romance plot to be unproblematic and totally free from exploitation and coercion but thats. completely missing the point. ada was never going to have a romance that was not built on a bedrock of exploitation because she was a disabled woman living in the 19th century. but she still wanted sex and romance and took what she could get, because women are human beings with human desires! idk, calling out this movie for romanticizing sexual coercion feels like it comes from the same impulse that leads people to victim-blame women who stay in abusive relationships. the movie does not give baines a pass on his behavior but it also does not blame ada for wanting to be with him anyway.

This feels like such a Steve song, you know? (Granted Groundhog Day did not come out until 1993 but let's just ignore that for now)

Like maybe piano player Steve based on my other post here, poured all his feeling and worries about being left behind by everyone he knows and loves into this song.

The kids will be finishing highschool soon and definitely don't need him to babysit anymore, his car was totalled in the earthquakes that nearly decimated Hawkins so he's no longer the party chauffeur, and Robin and Nancy are heading to college in the fall and Eddie has been talking about getting out of Hawkins since he woke up from the hospital and Steve?

Steve feels stuck.

So maybe he writes, he's never been a big writer before, it's always been difficult to connect ideas or find the words he wants, but something takes over on a random Saturday. He gets it all out in a matter of minutes and sits down at the lonely piano in his parents' living room.

They've left for good, his parents, the house is paid off and in his name, they won't be back for it.

He plays around, yelling out the brand new lyrics. Like it's a joke, like his voice doesn't echo around the empty halls and rooms, like it doesn't crack eventually.

He plays around until he has something resembling a little song.

He feels a little better.

He leaves the notebook on the closed piano lid and forgets about it.

Until Eddie picks it up on another random Saturday.

It's just the two of them, they talk and smoke in the yard, and bake a frozen pizza for the two of them. It's nice, quiet and calm. Something neither of them have had a lot of recently.

"Is this a poem Stevie?" Eddie asks with wide eyes, he's grinning but there is a flicker of surprise on his face, Steve scrambles to snatch the scribbler out of his hands but Eddie jumps onto the couch and holds his arms above his head while throwing a hand out to push at Steve's face.

"Give it back Eds it's not--"

"Its good, it's cool if it is a poem man, I didn't know you could write".

Steve steps back allowing Eddie's hand to fall away, "It's uh," he chews his lip and wills the blush that coats his ears and cheeks away, "it's actually a song".

Eddie stares at him as if he's never seen him before.

"Be still my beating heart, Harrington, you never fail to surprise the shit outta me!"

Eddie grabs his arm and leads Steve back to the piano, flipping up the lid with an excited snap.

"Can I hear it?" He asks, voice suddenly soft, as though he knows how big this is for Steve.

He hesitates, this is new territory for the two of them since they have been dancing around each other recently, and he's not entirely sure exactly how Eddie feels about him, and what if this---

"You don't have to, Steve, I don't want you to be all freaked out, about this. I won't say anything if this is like, a secret or something," Eddie backpeddles, flicking the lid shut and putting the scribbler back where he found it.

That cements it for him.

"Its not really a secret," Steve mumbles as he steps forward slowly and takes a seat at the piano bench. He slides over to the far side and looks at Eddie pointedly until the metal-head takes a seat beside him, "but I've only ever played for Dustin, he wanted to learn piano awhile back".

Steve takes the notebook once again and places it in front of him on the stand before shaking out his hands once.

And he plays. His voice is soft as he sings, matching the soft press of the keys, unsure of himself, how he sounds, how it all sounds.

Eddie is quiet until he's done, he's quiet even after Steve is finished.

"That's only the second time I've played it like, the whole way through," Steve mumbles as he reaches up to grab the scribbler. Eddie still hasn't said anything.

Fuck.

"Its stupid, I was just goofing around with something-"

He stops speaking at two arms wrap around him and he gets a face full of wild curls.

"Shut up Harrington, that was great, that was, fuck, you wrote that?" Eddie whispers into Steve's chest, it's muffled slightly but Steve catches every word.

He slowly raises his own arms to wrap around the other man and leans his head down to rest on Eddies, "yeah Eds," he says with a smile.

Eddie tips his head away slowly, giving Steve a chance to move his own out of the way, he holds Steve's gaze, arms still wraps around him loosely.

"You know you've got me Steve," Eddie says slowly, his brown eyes flick back and forth between Steve's own, "you're not alone, I mean".

Steve opens his mouth to agree, to nod and placate and sweep it away, under the rug again.

"And l know that just saying that doesn't mean anything," Eddie continues interrupting Steve's train of thought, "so I'll do my best to show you every damn day, if you'll let me".

It's a charged, this thing hanging between them, and Steve isn't quite sure what to do about it.

Luckily Eddie's never been one for fully thinking before doing.

He leans forward, his face so close that Steve can count his eyelashes and see the flecks of honey in his warm brown eyes. Eddie nudges Steve's nose with his own and kisses him.

Its soft, warm, Eddie tastes like pizza and weed and his lips are chapped but its perfect.

Eddie pulls away slowly, leaving himself in Steve's space, though his eyes are wide, nervous.

"Every, every day huh?" Steve manages after a beat, his heart racing in his chest, his hands itching to reach into Eddie's hair as this unamable thing between them barrels into something more.

"Yeah Stevie, and maybe I'll have to pick your brain for our next Corroden Coffen hit," Eddie whispers with a grin on his lips.

He meets Steve in the middle this time and swallows his laughs with another kiss.

I have taken the liberty of recording the song Cheria plays in one of her side quests (the one where you retrieve her tuning fork from the Seaside Cavern). Supposedly her mother taught her to play this song when Cheria was very young, and since both of her parents passed away shortly afterward, it helps her remember them. It's obviously a very short and simple piece but considering her age at the time I think it's impressive she managed to memorize it. Maybe it was part of a longer song she never got to learn...

all of my other posts on rebirth have some complaints or just pure complaint, which does not reflect my feelings on the game, so i'm going to now post a thing i like with each complaint. my current complaint is 'none of the words "queen's blood tournament on the shinra-8" is in the original game.' (and that includes shinra-8, shut up). here is a list of compliments about the game:

Starting as Zack generated SO MUCH hype. i was screaming

the music around the midgar wastelands is 'hollow'! I love it so much

playing as sephiroth was so fun. he's amazingly designed and his VA acted the hell out of nibelheim. very well done

i like the additional tension between cloud and tifa, with both of them suspecting the other of being an imposter

baby chocobo cute

the combat is very fun. yeeting tifa is great

it's so pretty! i have so many photos! of so many things!

FROG QUEST BEST QUEST

weed canon in ff7-verse

despite my imminent complaint, queen's blood is pretty good

in fact, most of the mini-games weren't terrible

also, the queen's blood weird subplot is very intriguing, as is the sucked into queen's blood subplot (until the timing made me want to kms). i do like it when i get to yell 'WHAT THE FUCK' at the screen. sometimes you have to remember that ff7 is a very silly game.

okay, now that i've paid my dues I just wanna say that there are so many minigames all at once. Literally most of chapter 4 were mini-games and then we jump into chapter 5 and it's another mini-game tourney?? jenova is RIGHT THERE in the boat. please just let me jenova boss fight. I'm forgetting what the plot is. (and this is also a general problem with open world games. even in BG3 I was spending time shopping in the Lower City instead of helping my friend who got kidnapped by murder cultists. sigh)

anyway they turned this game into 100 hours by filling it with padding. again. (imagine cloud narrating 'and then I got the vacuum to clean the air of mako so i could use the elevator... and then the cord WAS STUCK.' he remembers that but not killing sephiroth?)

also I don't like the way they're treating Shinra right now, especially Rufus. If I trusted Square Enix I wouldn't be blinking at it, since there are so many times where people talked about how horrible Shinra was... but I definitely don't trust Square Enix, and especially not how they write Rufus. Shouldn't he be talking about ruling with fear now? stop trying to sanitize the evil capitalist. I hope Barret is right when he said joining was a bad idea. I shouldn't have to hope. It should be obvious. It would be if I trusted Square Enix.

lastly, seriously, wtf is up with glenn T_T why is he here. why do i dislike a person from a mobile game showing up here when people from prequels showing up is fine? i mean definitely part of that is because crisis core is not a gatcha game.

... and that was like 4 complaints. it's just easier to say things when you're complaining instead of praising. I gotta work on that.
