Okay this person’s thoughts are pretty intense and quite horny / kinky. If I felt like writing their actual thoughts for group 1, here I feel like this would be a bit triggering in some way. So I’m gonna describe as best as I can and as respectfully as I can lmao To be completely honest, this person is a simp for you. They want to "drink from you". I’ll leave that to your imagination. They think that you are incredibly attractive and 100% their type. They want to possess you. But they don’t want to rush it. They like the thrill of the chase. They think that they want to lift you up and have you as they please, against the wall or on any surface they could find. They think that the world lies at your feet and that they would give you the world if you asked them to. This person acts very unpredictably. One day they’re super open and sociable, fun and patient. The other they’re an absolute asshole. It’s like they’re trying to confuse you so that you don’t know where they stand. They appear as immature. They constantly contradict themselves. Either their actions don’t follow their words or it’s like they don’t think things through and just act randomly. They are chaotic in the way they communicate and act. But most of the time they are defensive and put up barriers between the two of you. Or work together. They seem like a good person. They look like they've been through a lot though. They're so guarded. Aren't they hiding something? Are they really as they appear? I don't know if I can trust them. They're so strong. Even in the face of adversity, they stay true to themselves and kind to others. I admire them for that. It could be so easy to resent or hate people but this person is so genuine. They keep giving though people hurt them. I hope they can protect themselves and stand up for themselves. Okay for some of you this person knows you from work or school. There are people around you that try to control you or bring you down. Especially, jealous people that want to give you a bad reputation because you don't follow their tracks. This could be true especially if you have a different vision of how work should be done or how people should be treated. They envy your energy and the attention you get. For some this person would even take your defense in public without you being aware, trying to restore your honor. They feel more protective over you. Kind of like a surrogate dad or a mentor energy. When they got to see you, for some I'm getting the mental image of someone trying to uplift somebody else's spirit by shyly giving compliments in the disguise of a joke. Like for instance they would playfully comment your outfit but manage to tell you it looks good on you in the process. I felt the need to ask spirit for more information so I drew another card from the deck. You got The Star and The Devil. On the first card there's a female figure pouring water into a pond while she fondly looks at two cranes sitting nearby. There's a third crane in her back that she's not aware of. The other shows a feminine character with one blind eye and a mischievous look.

I'm getting several possibilities looking at this combination. One the one hand, it kinda confirms what I've been saying about this person protecting you and acting behind your back. As the Star card can be related to the Internet and the Devil card can represent naysayers/people with bad intentions, it shows that this person has been defending you online. I'm getting a scenario where a group of people is having a private conversation on any social platform where they talk baldly about you or make fun of you. And either this person has been calling these people out or they went as far as to threaten them of filing a complaint in your name. On the other hand, these two cards could be showing that this person is two faced. They may act kind and sweet in front of your face, but talk badly about you behind your back. Or, if they're not dissing you, at least they're playing the game to get favors out of you. Thankfully, a passerby found you and brought you to the hospital where they had to give you multiple surgeries to amputate the right arm, both legs, and left eye of yours replaced or enhanced

💍🎮 Because of the enhancements made, you had a full tech-based pair of legs, single arm, and parts of it inside of your eye. Growing up was hard after that, as you grew fearful of the outside world and became a recluse, but you were growing out of your shell since you met Yuu and they began helping you talk to others again

💍🎮 You adored the magic-less human, while many found him annoying and a waste of space at the school, you thought they fit in perfectly. After all, what human of no value could handle things like overblots multiple times without dying?

🎮 Ortho rushed through the halls at full-speed. Ignihyde dorm members were all balled up in their rooms while he dashed by, they all knew that it was the little robot who was going by, but they could care less about the entire issue at the moment

🎮 As he approached his brother's room, he checked the Night Raven College's camera footage and his eyes widened even more as he saw you being practically dragged down the aisle to where that ghost bride stood, awaiting your presence across from her

"Big brother! Y/N needs help!" He yelled.

🎮 Idia jumped and screamed, clinging onto a nearby blanket as his heart pounded quickly in fear. He then stood up with a small shake as he asked what was going on with Ortho

💍🎮 Eliza flinched and screamed, sending her many guards after the group while everyone else watched in shock. You began to struggle again, making a guard look at you and grab your arm, twisting it backwards more to hurt you

"Sucks for you, buddy. My right arm isn't even real." You said, sending your head back to bash him backwards.

💍🎮 The guard when flying as the other boys saw you fight back with your arms pulled backwards. You then heard Epel yell your name, he ran up and pulled out a knife. How he had that without Vil knowing, you really could care less, if it got you out, it got you out

"Thanks, Epel." You said, taking your body and throwing it to get some of the guards down.

💍🎮 A scream was the thing that burst everyone out of their fights. You looked backwards and saw Idia standing above the princess, anger ever so present on his face. He glared at her and gave her one of the most horrifying threats you ever heard leave his mouth

"If you touch my S/O again, I'll take my magic pen and make you fall so many times down into the Underworld that you'll wish you died a second time, got me?"

💍🎮 You sighed and ran up to them, pushing them farther apart. Idia snapped out of his anger and looked at you closer. He was shocked. You look absolutely amazing in your outfit. Those ghosts may have kidnapped you, but they knew how to dress you

"Princess Eliza, are you alright?!" A guard yelled as he helped her up from the ground.

Ha ha ha, I live for the chaos that this would be.

“You mean, she’s alive? Not an official sinner?” Lucifer asked.

“Yep,” said Charlie, “Um… we’re not quite sure how she got down here, to be perfectly honest, but she definitely doesn’t fit the sinner criteria in looks or attitude.”

You hesitate before you give a small curtsy to the king of hell. You weren’t sure if the act was going to count against you when you actually died for real, but who knows, maybe he’d be as nice as Charlie was? Either way, Charlie was a good girl, and you wanted to help her out. Surely no one could blame you for being kind to someone, even if that someone is the King of Hell himself.

“Nice to meet you, your highness,” you say, voice timid.

“It’s been such a long time since I’ve seen a… living human,” Lucifer said, circling you, as if you were a rare exotic animal, “It’s been decades. Centuries even. And you don’t know how you got down here?”

“No, your highness,” you said, “I really don’t know what happened. I-I just ended up here somehow.”

“And no way to get back home either, I’m assuming?” he said, “How odd. Must find it terrifying down here, not to mention dangerous.”

Charlies chuckles a little, but you see a certain nervousness in her eyes. Your safety had been the talk of many stressful meetings.

“We do keep her as secure as we can,” she said, “Considering she’s so vulnerable down here she stays in the hotel pretty much all the time.”

“Ah, yes,” said Alastor, who seemed to be butting into every conversation poor Charlie was trying to hold with her father, “This little lady here, I assure you, she is under the strict protection of the hotel. The very best, as I tend to her safety personally.”

He wrapped his arms around your shoulders as he said it, pulling you closer to him. The touch startled you, as he wasn’t one for physical affection. In all honesty, you don’t recall him ever touching you in any way ever other than the brief handshake you had shared on meeting. You tense a little at the unexpected contact.

Lucifer’s eyes turn to Alastor and narrow. He looks at him like one would look at a spider crawling on the wall. A chill runs through you with the amount of malice in his eyes.

“… I’m sure you do,” he finally said.

His eyes return to you, a hint of curiosity in them, most of the malice gone.

“But! I’d be more than happy to assist in this matter,” he continued, “I’m not sure if there is anything we really can do as far as sending you back up to earth, but I can do my best to make sure you stay safe. Demons are fine and dandy, but there’s nothing like a royal seal of protection. You haven't made a deal, have you?”

As you shake your head, Alastor’s grip tightens, making your shoulder ache. You worry he’s going to claw through your blouse and into your skin if he’s not careful.

Saying you were uncomfortable would be the understatement of the year.

Lucifer Morningstar

Lucifer would have a clear upper hand in this situation, and oh, the nostalgia you would bring! He’s had plenty of experience getting innocent, naive human women to warm up to him, both in the romantic department and outside of it. While he is a bit out of practice, if he actually tried, I could see him using all of his experience, charm, and knowledge to seduce a shy girl out of her shell.

If you’re still a living human, he’s going to be quite protective of you. You want to leave the hotel? Have you gone straight mad? Honestly, if he had it his way, Charlie wouldn’t let you out of your bedroom with those nasty sinners crawling around the hotel. Do you want to end up as corrupt and filthy as the rest of hell? Perhaps he can talk to Charlie and convince her that you need to be taken somewhere more… secure.

Once he finally moves into the hotel, the real battle is going to begin. He'll be seeing you regularly and therefore make it impossible for him to push you out of his mind. And he has to put up with Alastor's antics now on a daily basis.

While he'd like to think he's levelheaded and mature, I can see arguments with Alastor quickly spinning out of control and getting very personal and very nasty fast. The only thing holding him back from just killing him after a certain point is the fact that Charlie likes him as much as she does.

Alastor

Part of me would wonder if he actually even likes you or if he just wants to mess with Lucifer tbh.

All jokes aside, Alastor would be pissed. He knows that Lucifer is more powerful in every sense of the word, and he can’t do a thing about it. Well, at least nothing that really matters. He’s simply going to have to be more charming than Lucifer is, to the point where you prefer him.

He’s going to pull out all the stops of being a suave southern gentleman. While Lucifer will try to wow you with bombastic displays that only he can provide, Alastor will offer himself as the sweet, traditional lover that has your back. He's a distinguished romantic compared to this circus leading clown. At least that's what he'll want you to think. When it comes down to it, Alastor has far less experience than Lucifer with women and romance.

Also I see him as being one of those people who’s like, “Since I know I can’t lift myself up more, I’m dragging this asshole down to my level.” Verbally throws barbs at Lucifer, both to piss him off and to try to make him look worse in your eyes. He’d have a real hayday if he can provoke Lucifer into saying or doing something that scares you.

Even when Lucifer’s not around though, he’s the type to plant ideas in your mind that the king of hell is simply not a good match for you. He’d use his verbal skills to make Lucifer look less attractive in your eyes or to make you feel like it would be unwise to get in a relationship with the literal Devil.

I’d like to think you’d turn them both down, but they’re both too polite towards women to be that forceful with you, so instead they just butt horns for what feels like eternity over who should have you. Clearly it’s the other guys fault that you don’t want him, not yours! Then when you finally die, you go to heaven, leaving them both quite upset about the whole situation.

But if things did get ugly and push came to shove, Lucifer would definitely win. At this point in the game, Alastor doesn't stand a chance. Hope you enjoy solitary confinement!

Your heart felt like lead in your chest. You watched the boy you once knew, in his green tattered hood. You knew he’d picked it to like like All Might. You knew. You’d seen the others try to get him back- You knew all too well he wouldn’t.

Your breath hitched as yet another plan failed. One after the other. The Izuku you knew before was gone- The bright eyed aspiring hero. He seemed a shell of his former self, but still full of the same determination.

You feel your feet carry you forward. Wait, were you doing this? Your heart beat wildly in your chest. You suddenly launch off the ground using One for All, a trick Izuku taught you. Izuku. Izu. You thought about the silly nickname you had given him. It made you smile now.

He nods, letting out his own laugh. “Yeah. I was so worried.. You should be more careful.” There he went. Still thinking of everyone but himself.

You take another step forward. You could almost reach out and touch him now. “I realized something that day.” You say softly. He turns to look at you, seeming a bit nervous with your proximity. He doesn’t back away, body tense and ready to jump away if need be. “Izu. I won’t touch you.” You reassure him.

He thinks, it wasn’t you he was worried about. He missed your touch. He speaks up now. “What was it?”

You look confused for a moment, before answering. “Oh. That-“ You say, looking over to the side. “You were patching me up. I remember, thinking.. If a boy as pretty as you patched me up every time, I wouldn’t mind getting hurt.” You admit, not looking back in his direction.

He tensed, his eyes wide. His freckled cheeks tinge pink. ‘She thinks i’m pretty..?’ He thought, blinking. “I remember I- I thought the same about you.” He quickly says, his eyes widening at his own words.

Your head turns to face him. “What..?” You ask softly, cheeks pink as you look at him.

“When I first saw you. First day of class. I thought you were the prettiest person i’d ever laid my eyes on.” He says, seeming hesitant to say anything. He looks down at his feet.

You watch him, seeing him shift nervously. It was almost comical.

“Izu.” You call out again, a hand coming up to rest on his cheek. His body goes slack at your touch. He blinks, not speaking, lips parted. You wanted to kiss him.

“…I love you.” I say softly, watching his reaction.

The last thing you expected was his gloved hands to press against the back of your head, pressing you closer to him and into a kiss. Your eyes widen, before shutting. You finally run your hands through his green curls- It felt even better than you thought it would.

When he pulls away, breathless, you look at eachother for a moment before you speak. “So will you stay?” You ask quickly.

He chuckles, running a thumb over your cheek gently.

“Yeah.”

The bond between a TARDIS and its Time Lord is very co-dependant - one literally can't function without the other. When that connection gets suddenly severed by the death of a Time Lord, the TARDIS can react in various ways, depending on the strength of their relationship.

🖤 Mourning and Grief

When their Time Lord dies, many TARDISes actually go through a mourning period. In some cases, this grief is so intense that the TARDIS can't keep going - there are stories of TARDISes ending their existence by hurling themselves into the Time Vortex or flying into a sun, unable to bear the loss of their pilot. There are rumours of something of an 'elephant's graveyard' for TARDISes at the end of time, filled with the shells of TARDISes who have ended themselves in this way.

💔 Loneliness vs. Indifference

However, not all TARDISes respond to the death of their pilot with mourning. Some, due to the nature of their bond or their individual personalities, may seek out a new pilot relatively quickly. This could be driven by a sense of aimlessness, an instinctual need for companionship, or even indifference, depending on how their previous pilot treated them. Because although I say that it's co-dependent, the Time Lord is always holding the reins, and some Time Lords just don't treat their TARDISes with the same respect and love the Doctor does.

can i be riverpilled on main for a sec. if jughead has been controlling the narrative all along - which tbf we were told in the first five minutes of the show - then it makes sense that both betty and veronica are not representative of themselves, actually, but rather of himself. if we are to believe the story of riverdale, then two things are true: 1. that jughead has been in love with archie this whole time and 2. that jughead himself never wanted to be part of the narrative. think about it - each season, apart from 1 and 3, involve some kind of death/death threat for jughead (serpent battle, stonewall preps, rat…king? dead and sent to heaven for sabrina to retrieve him, literally booted out of the narrative). however, someone is still required for him to project his feelings onto. if you believe that riverdale is a story starting with the real events of jason’s murder, jughead takes on the role of investigator/narrator. this means he needs someone else to be the love interest: enter betty. someone he would’ve known since forever, and so all of sudden, as jugheads story starts, betty “réalisés” she wants to tell archie she likes him -> jughead’s own crush coming to light / vs. veronica coming to town and immediately catching archie’s eye (AND she resembles him, dark hair, dark clothing, pretentiousness galore) -> jughead wanting archie to want HIM. all of this explains why betty and archie never really click in s5, why betty repeatedly takes the chance to kiss archie despite her friendship with veronica being at stake (what jughead would do, if he could) why veronica cannot handle loneliness, why a lot of the time neither betty or veronica’s actions match up to the personalities that they actually have -> betty is repeatedly made out to be a “hero” struggling against her internal demons/serial killer genes despite everything that would condemn her as a bad person/friend whereas veronica tries to be better and still falls short at every turn -> representation of repressed homophobia re: how not confessing makes him feel better about himself, like he’s doing archie a favor vs. even thinking that he would LIKE to date archie makes him “feel evil”. in the end, betty and veronica don’t even actually care about archie, romantically; the one person betty misses more than anyone in the last episode is veronica (her long lost love) and veronica throughout the series spends more time trying to figure out what would actually make her happy even though she has archie and that should supposedly be the answer; this is their actual characters breaking through the shell of projection given to them by narrator!jughead. of course, this would’ve been solidified if cole sprouse wasn’t a coward and kissed kj apa on screen in the finale but you know what they say about the absence of a thing .

Jinx vs Powder, which is it? - Discussing the Present Moment and lack of an "end state"

Upon watching Season 2 I was a bit conflicted on the idea of Powder vs Jinx, and in thinking about it, the conundrum reminded me of some gripes I've seen many people reference about the season as a whole, which I will get into as this analysis goes on. First off, though, I didn't know how to feel on the whole Powder vs Jinx idea. The show makes such a huge deal of it in Season 1 and it ends with the "resolution". it's Jinx. Powder is gone, fell down a well, the final time.

Only for this conflict to continue on in Season 2, be a constant push and pull when we felt like the question was answered already! Jinx is Jinx, walks through life a shell of a person for a bit, then Isha comes into her life and throws everything into question. She has something to care about, someone to love, which feels a little more like ol Powder, and then that increases again and again by the reemergence of Vander, who calls her Powder, on top of the fact that months after declaring each other "no longer sisters", Vi's back in her life and they're getting along again, just like that.

This, of course, gets ripped out from under her again in no time as well. Jinx drops to her lowest point, Vi tries to save her, she forsakes her and runs away and tells her not to worry about her anymore. She knows, now, there's no good version of her, everyone who gets close to her gets hurt or dies. This happens, again and again.

Then, Ekko comes back after a whole episode dedicated to him meeting AU Powder. Powder as she could have been, as we might even think we want her to be. A Powder with a loving family and a good measure less trauma in her life. In some ways, this might affirm the idea that this is Powder, and our Jinx is Jinx. But we also see that this version of Powder reignites Ekko's hope in our Jinx, even though we know the reason they're so different is she hasn't lived that same life.

So. Ekko convinces Jinx, somehow, they can always build something new. What he means is she can always try again. She said, hours ago, possibly not even, "there's no good version of me" and Ekko (even having not heard that) says "bullshit, I just saw a version of you that was good." And then there's another aspect to it, AU Silco's message: there's no greater power than to forgive. Ekko forgives Jinx, forgives himself for giving up on her, and wants her to forgive herself. Now, it might have been nice to see more of this conversation, but, I think we can infer that all the lessons Ekko took from the AU verse were things he would at least start trying to instill upon Jinx. To plant the seed, if you will, that she can forgive herself, she can build something new, she can be whoever she damn well wants to be. Powder, Jinx- does it really even matter? What she calls herself is beside the point. What matters is what she's doing now, and what she ends up doing is joining Ekko in the fight.

I watched a great video essay that dissected a bit of Ekko's character and one of the reasons he's so good-hearted is that he is present-focused. In fact, he's one of the only characters who is present-focused and remains so most of the time. Powder/Jinx, and Vi, they're stuck in the past. Viktor and Jayce are trying to force the future to come towards them, Silco's also obsessed with making a future dream happen while allowing his past to harden him to all connection outside of Jinx, Heimerdinger is so far in the future he can't understand the day-to-day issues small or large that humans face. Ekko cares about what is happening now. He's a man of action. And his power, his z-drive, also exemplifies how things can change, moment-to-moment, he goes back in time briefly so he can make the best of the exact present he's in and get it right.

Which actually speaks to something bigger in Season 2 I've seen people have gripes about, how some conflicts get resolved very easily between characters with a lot of tension between them, mostly Cait and Vi, and how longstanding political issues get dropped for bigger political plots. I've talked about why Vi reacts how she does to Cait in the prison cell scene, but I haven't touched on when they meet at the commune, but I think it also sort of fits well into the theme of present-focused = morally good. Cait has been on a descent into worse behaviour, but, she's been waffling too. She doesn't fully trust Ambessa or know where she lies on matters. So, the moment she sees Vi again, she's given a new option, a new out, and she makes use of it rather than mince words about who did what or why. I don't necessarily think this is a bad thing, and Vi, as someone who appreciates action and is protective, would also probably see this favourably (although, they do get around to arguing a bit more later, which I think is fitting)

Now, I understand why people are frustrated that the Piltover vs Zaun conflict takes a backseat. It's something that I do think could have been handled better, but, I also feel like I understand a bit what they were going for here. Yes, they've been embroiled in this conflict for a long time, but right now, in this moment, if they don't stand together they're that much more likely to lose. You can't fight for the existence of a nation that was wiped off the very map by an outside force.

Again, being present-focused and dealing with what is happening now is the only way to deal with Noxus marching on them. They cannot continue to worry about locking Jinx up or striking a deal for independence, again, there's not gonna be a nation of Zaun if Noxus takes over, either. I get why this is frustrating, but, I think it's realistic and I don't think it's counter to the story they've been telling, especially not in Season 2.

The whole Jinx vs Powder thing doesn't get to be tied up with a little bow on it, because Powder will always, always, always be what Jinx was named as a baby, and she will never not have been a child called Powder with the same blue hair she has now. There's no version of her (in Arcane, anyway) who wasn't insecure and brainy as a child and didn't go through some heartbreaking stuff. Silco told her to let Powder die, because he let his former self die and it made him stronger- but did he really? He still wistfully sits at Vander's statue, pours out a drink for him, and laments over fatherhood. Does that sound like a man who has left Vander in the past? As well, he's still desperately afraid of losing Jinx, showing there's something of the humanity left that he clings to. If Silco was alive to meet Vander's new form, surely they would have had words, even for all Silco said he was a changed man. Maybe they would have even had the power to forgive, AU Silco did.

The thing is, for as long as Jinx is alive, she will be inventing herself every day, for the rest of her life, she doesn't just get to decide she's "done" now. We are all the sum of everything we've ever done + what we decide to do in this moment. We all carry our histories into what we do next. There's no final state of being a person who's still alive and breathing, things will always change, new experiences will happen and shape us or give us new ideas or affirm our previous thoughts. This is also true on a societal level, no country or city or town stays completely static, there is no Done, the world just keeps on turning and things will develop, systems will rise and fall and be torn down and be built up.

As long as we're alive, there's always a chance to build something new.

I've alluded to the concept a number of times, but here's my redesign for OLC Belle the Sleeping Car wildly roleswapped into a Momma/Poppa figure for Electra, as Belle the GG1. You could probably give her a better name, but Belle is passable enough since all locomotives in the US have bells, I mainly kept it to preserve the flow of her song (see below cut for her version!). Based on their status and appearance in their absolute final running days in 1984. They may look glossy and pretty (if a WILD time warp) but they were on their absolute last gasp physically at this point after running for nearly 50 years, due to a lack of suitable replacement. Her dress follows a similar logic to Greaseball's outfit in that it represents the streamlined cowl, which is why she's less mechanical than most.

Personality-wise, she's also oooooold and based on Ella Fitzgerald, even more heavily than OLC Belle since she's fits perfectly with the time/place/personality of the GG1s. Both started in the mid-30s in New York City, and were noted for being "effortless" and almost unparalleled in their field. I tend to imagine her playing more on the "cute, humble, and improvisational" side of Ella, entering the big race just to have one last good run before she retires, and forgetting lyrics and making up something that sounds natural. In my mind she wins because the tracks are rough and winding, which she's far more used to that the other Nationals, with how decrepit parts of her Northeast Corridor were in the 80s and still are now- experience is a quality that counts for a lot!

She toes the line between OC and AU since she's such a twist on the original but stays largely true to her general concept. I'll call her more of an AU and say anyone is free to use this interpretation if they want, I'm not possessive of it at all.

Realistically she'd be dead as a doornail after 1984 (GG1s will just never run in preservation, they were in such bad shape and would need so much work to function on modern systems you may as well build a new replica). But make a cheeky joke about Controls' mom "sticking the old shell on a new body and not telling the kid" and she can come back. I like to think she'd have a flirty, playful rivalry with Momma/Poppa, she'd make Light At The End Of The Tunnel a duet about how steam is great.... for power plants! The Pennsylvania Railroad just stopped getting more steam engines when it electrified lines vs axing them so she wouldn't have any historical antagonism with them.

Here's my rewrite of Belle's Song largely following the original format, but now about the real history of the GG1s

Super Massive End Game Veilguard Spoilers Under the Cut!

Seriously. If you haven't finished playing Veilguard, DO. NOT. READ. So I finished DA:tV and I have been really trying to sort out my thoughts... And well...

Sdlkajshdfklajhsdfklajhsdflkjahsdklfjhaskldfjhaskldfhj I CAN'T!!! My dudes I am SO conflicted!!! Solas is the only character I have ever come across that I both love to pieces and want the best for him but I also want to beat him until he is a puddle of bruised yolk and cracked shells. This dude KILLED VARRIC FOR REALSIES! I am not okay with that. My Hawke's GOING to hunt him down when she finds out. If the Tevinter Magisters can get into the Black City then dammit so can she. And when she does, I am not sure even Lavellan can save him. Amelia (My Hawke) has lost so many of her friends/family/loved ones she can't handle this anymore. He also killed God's gift to elves Felassan. It's been over a decade since I read The Masked Empire but I don't remember there being a great reason other than him being upset that Felassan failed. Dude has GOT to stop killing his friends lol. Especially the hot ones. Like. Come on. As if that wasn't enough, he manipulated Rook. I love my first Rook (Carwyn de Riva) so much that I am STRUGGLING to play another playthrough with any of the other Rooks I had planned. To see that he manipulated her with blood magic... Stopped her from being able to mourn Varric with the others properly.... AND tricked her into that prison??? He didn't think she'd be able to get out. Luckily she had plot armor because if she hadn't gotten out I would find a way into Thedas to rip him apart myself. *Aggressive breathing noises* I feel very normal about this, obviously. Seriously though, guys, I came THIIIIIIIS close to tricking him with the fake dagger even knowing that Lanaya (my Lavellan) wouldn't have gotten her happy ending. JUST so I could see the LOOK on his face when he realized ROOK outplayed him at his own game! At the SAME time however... The idea of sending him into the Black City alone... hurts me lol! I don't want him to suffer. Dude has suffered a lot and honestly, I'm not entirely sure his being a friend-murdering ass is *entirely his fault... The longer I sit with everything, the more certain I am that Solas didn't really have a choice. Seems very much like he was sort of bound to the will of Mythal. Maybe I've missed something, I'm not as lore-savvy as I once was. But in the end when Mythal tells Solas that she releases him from her service and only THEN (NOT when Lavellan BEGS him to stop) is he willing to do the right thing? I don't know. It just reminded me SO much of his personal quest in Inquisition where his Wisdom Spirit friend had been bound and twisted against its purpose. If it works anything like what we saw in Inquisition with whoever drank from the Well of Sorrows, who's to say when something was him vs the will of Mythal? It could be a bit of a stretch but, there's certainly room for that interpretation, I think. And if that's the case, then he doesn't deserve the hell that awaits him. It's also the only interpretation I can really accept Lanaya still wanting to be with him. Varric was her friend too. While forgiveness is something I give freely, I cannot imagine reconciling with a man who did what Solas did without him having been essentially forced into doing it. *Sighs deeply* I saw the different versions of his endgame images... Shit man. The only way this man gets a happy ending is with Lavellan. Dude looks so miserable and gloomy in all the other endings. Moire (Trevelyan) was Solas' friend. She wouldn't want to send him off to be alone in such a terrible place. That would seriously eat at her. (Rook wouldn't care. Her give a damn was busted after he betrayed her for the twenty-billionth time.) It can never be anything but a complete and utter rollercoaster with this man! I do think that the ending I got with him was as good as it possibly could have been though, given everything. Sorry for this really poorly written rant. I needed to get this out of my system and it's almost 3am lol.

Post-S2 Withdrawal Smiling Friends Headcanons (Yay!) 🎉

I know it’s contrary to the commentary confirming their ages but I hc Charlie as 30-35 and Alan as 42, I feel it fits their personalities moreso….plus y’all should take what the creators say with a grain of salt at this point because I sure as hell do, I really wanted a green Pim dammit! Ugh I’m getting sidetracked let’s move on-

The Enchanted Forest either takes place before Charlie, Pim and Bill vs the Alien or that episode was just a fever dream Charlie had while watching that one animated Hobbit movie just to riff on it (he’s a LOTR fan in canon too).

Alan made a lot of paperclip chains as a kid, he even wore one as a necklace for a period of time.

Charlie visited Spamtopia with his Grandmother when he was just a homunculi and being a stupid little kid he saw Oscar and blurted out that he had a giant eyeball for a head…the next time Charlie visited Spamtopia for nostalgia purposes, he got mobbed and almost got torn in half, luckily he escaped but that’s a wild ass story for another time!

Mr. Boss watches Lifetime Movies because he thinks they’re unintentional comedy gold.

Rex is Zoey’s father and they don’t get along.

Pim was homeschooled until he was 14 and his naive innocence comes from being overly sheltered, oh also he also met his UFO hunting buddies in highschool and they helped him come out of his shell and let loose.

Alan and Pim are fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race and they binge watch the show together.

Professor Psychotic is aromantic/asexual and wanted to have a child without having to be in a relationship, hence why he sought out creating life.

Glep and Pim entered a talent contest and they got up on stage to perform an insanely catchy and surprisingly fitting mashup between “I’m The Scatman” and the Skibidi Toilet song with Glep providing the vocals and Pim shredding an electric guitar….the audience went nuts! Grown men were weeping at the sheer awesomeness and the crowd held up candles during the epic finale, ending with a standing ovation. Unfortunately they only ran second to first-place winner Mr Frog doing his usual shtick.

ooo how about jewelry taste. dangly earrings vs studs, do they wear bracelets, rings, flashy vs elegant, etc

mirabelle has so many cute trinkets! we know she loves accessories that go ding ding, and she'll layer a ton of necklaces so they knock against each other. sometimes they all match nicely, sometimes it's eclectic chic! she adores metal charms and carved beads, especially charmingly unusual shapes like an itty bitty fork, ducky, book, etc. as well as classics like lockets and bells! she tends to fidget with rings and lose track of them, so she avoids those. post-canon she decides to stop wearing earrings, so she turns her novelty earrings into bracelet/necklace charms! and gives her more basic studs to isabeau so he'll actually own some basics.

isabeau is all about shapes and contrast, so he likes chunky beads in materials like turquoise or jasper that have different shades marbled together, metal geometric shapes, wire-wrapped stone, and unique arrangements of elements. he likes funny noises too, but will go for one complicated necklace instead of multiple single strands. he definitely tends towards statement necklaces and earrings — he used to run into trouble because he only had statement pieces, so they would clash terribly, but then he started buying more matching sets. he loves bonding earrings as a romantic, but is a little torn because there's no way any two earrings could match all of his fits...

odile is the kind of person to pick a nice look and stick to it, so there's not much variety in her accessories. she has her glasses gems, a pair of pearl studs, a pair of silver studs, and a couple sentimental rings that she keeps somewhere safe instead of wearing. we know bonding earrings are popular in ka bue but not as universal as in vaugarde; i think it would be cute if ka bue had a whole language of earrings and rings, with different gem types/cuts/colors denoting different sorts of relationships and emotions. so she's got, like, a [daughter, you are the most important thing in my life] ring from her dad, and a [lover, we change each other] ring from an ex.

siffrin is all about sentimental pieces!! it doesn't really occur to him to buy himself jewelry, but isa or mira will see him looking at something in the market and buy it for him and suddenly the aesthetic appeal that sif had mildly enjoyed doesn't matter at all compared to They Gave This To Me. siffrin tends to be drawn towards solid shades or starry dots, and smooth, swirling shapes. isa also gets them stimmy pieces like a bumpy bangle or spinny ring, and mira gets them cute things that remind her of them like star pins or kitty charms. he's just so fun to give trinkets to, even bonnie and odile have gotten him some, so he's working up quite a collection! he carefully rotates through everything, and keeps some pieces in his pockets when he can't fit everything he wants onto his body or doesn't want to wear any jewelry that day.

bonnie's bracelet is smooth wood, and they're going to be very upset the day it no longer fits over their hand. they prefer non-rock materials like wood, shells, bones, and sea glass, because that's just way more fun! they made shell necklaces with nille all the time, so many that it doesn't matter how often they lose them.

loop goes full magpie! since they don't have to buy necessities like food, they're less careful about spending money than siffrin, plus they're more desperate to capture any scrap of joy. they also have a bit of "everyone else is an npc" brain and "i am both above and beneath normal rules", so they're more comfortable with stealing than siffrin is. they like drapey chains, black and white beads, and unusual pieces. they like the pressure stim of very heavy necklaces and the clack of many bracelets. once when one of their favorites broke they procured the tools to fix it, and started modifying the stuff they own and stringing trinkets onto chains!

Great parallels between Callum and Viren but opposite: Callum has always been “destiny is a book you write yourself” and here we have Viren saying that there is no choice and you can’t change fate. So glad that they contrast here because I don’t know what I’d do if my boy perfectly paralleled Viren

Adding on to this ^, I love seeing young Viren in the mirror, and his desperation to not become like that. He wanted to try. His spirit hadn’t been broken yet. This story would have been a lot different if that Viren survived.

Archmage Akiyu is so right. I would also chase birds bigger than me and feed unsolicited visitors to a big monster. What an icon. (And not to mention gender envyyyyy)

Season five is callback season! Villads, Nyx, eggs and sausage guy, and Soren’s similies/metaphors (on one hand though it kinda worries me that there’s another Viren/Callum parallel here because both are pinching the bridge of their noses as Soren delivers these similies/metaphors)

TBB S3 Retrospective

Looking back at S3, it's not a perfect season, but I still really, really enjoy it. And let's be honest, CW and Rebels didn't have flawless final seasons either. But what all 3 final seasons have in common is that they were emotional and stuck the landing.

Regarding Crosshair, S3 gave me pretty much everything I ever wanted. I couldn't believe that his story didn't end in the ultimate sacrifice but you know what? I'm glad it didn't. He now has the chance to heal after all he's been through. He also has to live with his choices and figure out who he really is now that he's retired. Still, I'm shocked. I got two Crosshair hugs. Not one, but two. He came home. And he lived. Crosshair definitely changed as a result of Tantiss and his time with the Empire post-S1. His demeanor is softer and he's more open. His experiences chipped away at that harsh outer shell and man we all know lay underneath emerged. Regardless, he's still our Crosshair with his snarky demeanor and love for toothpicks. That will never change about our beloved sniper.

And Omega! S3 handled her perfectly imo. Everything she's ever learned from her brothers has come into play here and I loved it. I don't think S1 Omega would've led the kids out of the Vault like she did in S3. But she's grown so much since then. The epilogue shows what a beautiful, mature young woman she's become.

Crosshair and Omega's relationship is also everything I ever wanted. His bond with her is deeply personal due to their time on Tantiss. He starts closed off and dismissive, but warms up to her. Eventually, he grows to love her deeply. I've talked a lot about Crosshair and after looking at his relationships in CW and the first two seasons, he always gave me the vibe that he's slow to bond with someone, but once he does, you're stuck with him. Omega is so patient and gentle with him. I also love how they trust each other to handle different situations. They know what the other is capable of and rely on each other for support. I love it.

As for the rest of CF99, I still love them in S3, especially Echo. We needed more Echo. But every time he showed up, he proved why he was the ARC Trooper. Seeing Echo get to use his skills to rescue the clones was simply beautiful. This was a man who lost everything and went through pure hell. But he gets to live, free of the Empire. In a way, he finished what Fives started and that's beautiful.

I may have had my grievances with certain choices regarding Hunter, but seeing him in S3 do his best to look out for everyone still warmed my heart. He's trying and in the end, he succeeded. Same with Wrecker. He's more serious, but he always looks out for his brothers and sister. That's never going to change.

S3 looking back has the best animation in the show and some of the best of music. The choice to have a more serialized story vs. episodic like the previous two seasons does change the pacing a bit as well. This season still flies by in comparison to the other two. It's not bad, per se, but it means I wish we got more episodes (or longer ones) because there is so much story that could be told with just one of these ideas alone. Although, I did thoroughly enjoy and appreciate a lot of these episodes more on rewatch. "Confined" and "Identity Crisis" are easily some of the best episodes in the entire show for their dark and mature storytelling. When I really think about it, S3 does honestly a great job tackling some pretty mature topics.

Crosshair's PTSD was a big part and to see him make an effort to begin his healing journey was amazing. The hand chop is another story, of course. But I did like that the show took time to focus on how Crosshair felt about it and that the others wanted to try and help. It wasn't resolved in a few episodes or by Crosshair just suddenly "getting over" it. It was going to take time to heal and as AZI said, it might never get back to 100%. Honestly, I was happy overall with this story arc. It's realistic that Crosshair wasn't coming out of Tantiss feeling 100% and mental health isn't a quick-fix. It's a journey. Hand chop aside, Crosshair has the rest of his life to heal.

Looking back at S3, some of the storylines being dropped or reduced didn't bother me as much because I knew the ending going in. Of course I wanted more from the Rex subplot and the CX subplot. But given that the show probably had to rewrite things for time constraints, I'm glad they at least decided to keep it focused on our little clone family instead of cramming everything in last minute. Remember when S8 of Game of Thrones tried to squeeze 3 giant story arcs into 6 episodes? Be glad we didn't get that. TBB S3 has its flaws and it's ok to be frustrated about them, but all and all, at least we didn't get S8 Game of Thrones cramming level bad. This is how I feel about it now. I'm rewatching Game of Thrones rn and the anticipation for the final seasons is killing me.

(the CX operatives were also really cool and the fact that their story kinda got brushed aside won't stop me from enjoying them).

Honestly, the one element that S3 didn't handle well at all was, we all know where this is going, say it with me: TECH. I've vented enough about this topic in my discussions about S2 so I will keep it brief. I will never understand why we couldn't get one episode of Tech mourning or at least one scene of it. Side note: I also with Phee got more to do then become a plot point. Maybe she gets to talk about Tech and what he meant to her or something. Idk. Just something. She deserved better. Tech deserved better. The way I would fix it is by:

Hunter and Wrecker talk about Crosshair in "Paths Unknown." That way, Tech's legacy is still honored through their search

We see Crosshair find out about Tech, he tells us about how he found out, we see him process it, or a combo of all 3

Omega gets a moment to process Tech, remembering what he did for his squad, and honors him somehow, like Ezra did with Kanan

The brothers talk it out. We needed more of the brothers talking

That's all I got off the top of my head right now. Ok, this is really long, but overall I still love S3, even if it's not perfect. Hemlock was a fantastic villain, I loved Emerie a lot more on my rewatch, Rampart makes a great foil to Cross, Nala Se honestly had a fitting end to her story, and Batcher is best girl.

I'll give a mini series overview in the next few days not that I've rewatched it. May the Force be with you all and CF99 has my heart forever.

That's an interesting question!

I had to wonder about it and do some research before replying, and I am still not 100% sure abt my answer yet since this is the first time I actively think about it.

Since I saw some articles claiming that Love Language was the one you speak to others and other articles claming that it is he one you want others to speak to you (how you show affection vs how you like to receive it basically), I decided to cover both possibilities to be sure!

The Adults first!

King Bowser:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Gift-giving (mostly with his younger kids or when he tries to impress the Princess of Mushrooms in a kind way) and Words of Affirmation (mostly towards his older kids and, very rarely, to Kamek or even to his... "enemies-but-sort-of-friends" during truces)

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: Quality Time (not having so much free time for himself and to spend with his family, he treasure it quite a lot when he can spend a day with Junior playing together or with any of the others talking, chilling of even fight-training)

Kamek:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Act of Service (in a loyal servant of the Royal Family way, but also in a parenting way)

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: Acts of Service (being used to be the one doing doing chores and helping others, if you surprise him with some unexpected help he'll be extremely grateful) and Gift-Giving (especially from the kids; he collects every little drawing or silly thingamajic the dragon-turtle hatchlings gifted him during the years).

The Royal Kids

Bowser Jr:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Gift-giving (he will cover you with cool drawings if he really likes you) and Physical Touch (he likes to *hug* his siblings and his father, especially when he notices them being under the weather or when he is really happy or grateful for something).

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: Words of Affirmation (mostly from his father) and Quality Time (both with his dad or his favorite siblings). He also enjoys gifts and acts of services too, but he's so used to them that he barely notice them; he will only accept hugs when in the right mood.

Larry:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Quality Time (if he likes you, he will gladly show you all the cool things he can do and all the cool stuff and games he owns. He will also spend the day playing games with you, as he does mostly with Junior, Morton and Iggy.)

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: Words of Affirmation (he will crave them from his older siblings, especially if he just did something *cool* and is waiting for some compliments, and from Bowser after a mission) and Acts of Service (he hates doing chores, and if someone does them for him, Larry will be extremely thankful to the person for the whole day).

Morton:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Acts of Service (especially towards his younger brothers, generally packing stuff for them such as snacks or useful tools they could forget about, and watching over them when needed) and Quality Time (he will play with Junior and Larry, listen to Wendy or Ludwig complaining, training with Roy and letting Lemmy ride his shell to feel tall when traveling together. Most of all, he will spend a lot of time with Iggy when he's doing his researches)

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: Physical Touch (mostly friendly hugs; his siblings say Morton is very hug-shaped for this very reason) and Words of Affirmation (he doesn't care about insults and such, but he do likes compliments and encouragements a lot).

Wendy:

Love Language(s) she speaks: Acts of Service (she's the one that likes the most to plan trips, SPA days, shopping sessions for herself and others, too. She can spend hours choosing which city or monument or even big mall they are going to visit next during a vacantion, and she'll do it with pleasure) and Quality Time (often related to the shared time she planned in advance for her whole family or just for the siblings she likes to hang out more with. She can share her time with her occasional boyfriend(s), her friends or even with her favorite soldiers from her own division).

Type(s) of affection she likes to receive most: Gift-Giving (but she will only accept perfectly chosen gifts, from her favorite brands and collections) and Quality Time (you can be sure Wendy considers you a trusted person when she starts freely complaining about wathever minor inconvenience ruined her morning in your presence).

Iggy:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Gift-Giving and Acts of Servce (both often related to his habit of spending days with blueprints and projects working on various useful or cool gadgets thinking about someone he cares about; he will lately give them to the person, even if his inventions are not always... well received).

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: Quality Time (especially spending hours together talking about science, mechanic or even weird plants and animals, collecting and classyfing stuff from the wilderness and searching for the weirdest bug or funny-shaped flower to add to his collection; he also appreciates when Lemmy or Morton make him company while he's working on some new gear, even if nobody speaks during that time). On the other hand, Physical Touch is a big no-no for Iggy most of the times (except made for Lemmy, that can hug him at any time).

Roy:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Physical Touch (but not in the typical hug/cuddle way. Roy usually pats his siblings on the shoulders, shells, even heads; he likes to ruffle their hair when he's proud of them, and even grabbing them like cats if they are small enough. In Roy's POV, even a friendly wrestling match is a way to show affections to his family or his best soldiers).

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: He's not the most affectionate Koopa in the family and claims he doesn't need people being nice to him, but he secretely appreciate Gift-Giving (especially cool accessories from Wendy or some useful gadget from Morton or Iggy) and Quality Time (he will ask his siblings to fight him and train together just to have fun, but he also likes to spend time with his friends while roaming the Dark Lands, talking about sensitive or emotional stuff he is too embarassed to bring out at home).

Lemmy:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Lemmy is quite sensitive to other people's emotions and needs and always tries his best to give each person the type of affection they prefere or need. Physical Touch (mostly hugs, especially if he sees his sibling really upset or feeling blue) and Quality Time (from playing pranks and going to amusement parks together to just make you company while chilling) are is main ways to show affection.

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive most: He will likely accept and go on with any kind of love language you speak, if sincere. He especially loves receiving Words of Affirmation (most people just look at him as a weird funny clown little guy, but if any of his siblings or superiors actually compliments him or encourage him about his passions or something he did, Lemmy's heart will warm up a little).

Ludwig:

Love Language(s) he speaks: Within his family, Ludwig mostly show how much he cares with Acts of Service towards his superiors (coordinating at his best the Koopalings during missions or following the Kings orders at his best to make Bowser proud), while he mostly encourages his siblings with Words of Affirmation (being used to compliments himself so often, he is quite good complimenting other people too, if they deserve it. He also loves to cover his GF with pompous compliments when they are playing music together).

Type(s) of affection he likes to receive the most: He mostly enjoys when his loved ones want to spend some Quality Time with him (especially if they share a passion together, such as peforming music - like with Wendy or his GF - or spray painting with Iggy, Morton, Larry and Junior, but also spending a day visiting nice places and eating out is something he really likes). He recently discovered that Physical Touch is something he is able to enjoy, too, but only if we talk about cuddles with his girlfriend.

In your post about the Darkling where you listed your opinions of him (first impression, impression now, favorite vs least favorite thing, etc) you said how if you had to choose a least favorite quality it would be his grumpiness (especially in RoW). Since I refuse to touch that cursed duology if it’s okay, may you explain what you mean? I know we get some of the Darkling’s POV but that’s pretty much all I know. Could this entire trait of his be a product of Bardugo’s retconning habit or is it something more?

Here are some examples:

From his POVs we can see that Aleksander is very pragmatic but also bad-tempered and bitter but that's completely understandable.

He has just been resurrected and:

1) Encountered a Saint that he detests.

2) Found his country to be in the worst state possible. Flanked by enemies and ready to attack.

3) Oh and let's not forget that devastating blight! ☝️

4) His captors have treated him like shit and put him under inhuman conditions.

5) Saw the woman he loved live a life that she doesn't deserve, being a shell of her former self and married to a man that he hates and considers worthless.

6) He's all alone. No Baghra, no Alina, no allies, no soldiers. He has to start from all over and has found himself surrounded by idiots (but even so he feels the need to protect them).

The fact that I find his grumpiness kinda annoying is because I as a person have been surrounded by grumpy people all my life so I can't help but find it unattractive and bothersome.

But then again, Aleksander has a really valid reason for being this way. It's very possible that he took this sarcastic attitude from his mother. After all, they had spent so many years together that Aleksander really adopted most of her traits, unwillingly or not. But I also believe he's that way because he has lived for too long.

He's immortal. He has done everything and seen everything, has seen people being kind and cruel, predictable or unpredictable. His experiences have only made him more bitter but that's also because he hasn't seen any positive changes or results from his constant battle against the persecution or how Ravka and the Grisha have no regard for him or don't notice his efforts at all.

Anyway, he's bitter about many things. In RoW he's that way for the reasons I explained in the beginning but, as a whole, he's resentful for a bunch of reasons that include his immortality and its consequences, the loss of people he loved, his strive to be seen and appreciated and the horrors he has witnessed.
